Happy for all the One Life and All My Children nods. I’m ecstatic over Jason Thompson and Chandler Massey! Kimberly McCullough was robbed!

Would it have killed them to add one more soap to the outstanding drama? What a disappointment, Hope erika slezak wins best actress, I feel once again kassie depava was snubbed, Good for Robert woods. I’m not very happy that one life to live was thrown out of the running once again, but if any soap has to win let it be general hospital or all my children, I love my abc soaps.

i really did, and still do, LOVE OLTL!! the thought that they did not get more nods is disheartening and even sadder they are XL;ED – but, i believe the deserve the award for cream of the crop!!!

Its sad, I dont understand it, There’s no more chances for one life to live it was the best soap no other will take its place, not for me. I am happy I get to see a few of my favorites at general hospital, but It will never be the same.

What happen to OLTL for outstanding drama series?????? They are not on that list..They should be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want Erika Slezak to win, Robert s. Woods etc… They deserve to win outstanding Drama.. Why were they over looked on that one?????? Best original song for a drama series should go to: One Life: ONE LIFE TO LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OLTL hopefully will win a lot of awards..It would be THE LAST HURAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go out with a BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Cross your fingers…They deserve it & more…The best soap was OLTL for me & will alway’s be #1 in my book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe this? I cant either, makes no sense to me that one life to live was once again dismissed but all my children gets on the list of best daytime drama, Are we all watching the same shows? I hope every award that one life to live is up against they win, My fingers are crossed to,One life to live wins for my best soap ever.

It’s not the last hurrah for oltl. They will be eligible next year as the show went off the air in 2012! Which is why amc got the nod for best show they went off on 2011. Hopefully next year will belong to oltl.

I agree with you Barbara t………………….TOTALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! I prefer OLTL over AMC any day… OLTL was alway’s my favorite soap even when I watched AMC…OLTL alway’s had something special the other soaps didn’t have…OLTL always caught my attention more than AMC….I would watch them both but, liked OLTL better……………………..So I will be crossing my fingers for OLTL….I support OLTL on the emmy awards all the way… I am a loyal fan of OLTL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kudos! to DAYS! Finally…. granted, there are 4 soaps left… 6, recognizing OLTL & AMC…. i never had time to watch OLTL. but, i will say, i hope Robert s. woods wins… i’ve watched some… cause of Nora… Bo and Nora… that would be a sweet win to award Robert woods… Erika Slezak has awards falling out her ass… nuff said… i’m sure she’ll win… although, my heart is with Crystal Chappell… her body of work… i’ve followed her career… she commands attention in my book. i watched her on guiding light… and will, now, try and watch b&b…because of her. The Will, coming out story, was first rate acting… I hope Chandler Massey wins… Will and grandma Marlena are, as well, turning out, emmy calibur performances. DAYS… DAYS…. DAYS…. how i wish, they’d keep Carrie, Please, re-hire Bo, PLEASE RE-HIRE KRISTEN/SUSAN, Eileen Davidson, to mix in with John/Marlena…. EJ needs his mother… now that stefano, has disowned him… and with Lexie dying… Kristen needs to return and re-establish the Dimera’s… and run Stefano’s Empire… i have to say… i’m caught i’m in Carrie and Rafe… that’s good story… Rafe is believeable… with carrie. Congrats! to DAYS, for 15 emmy nominations. if only they’d start writing for Justin and Adrienne.

OLTL never got the recognition it deserved! This is no exception! Screwed again!

I cant stand those nasty Kardashians either, What a waste that whole family is. And you are right one life to live never got the recognition it deserves, I dont understand how year after year they get snubbed and those so called judges couldnt give them anything for there last time at the emmys, Something is wrong with those judges they don’t know a class act when they see it. All my children gets picked and one life to live doesnt, Makes no sense

Once again, no Florencia!

Awesome! Glad to see GH recognized however surprised that OLTL didn’t receive more nominations. And no nomination for Lexie Ainsworth…that’s a bummer!

Agree.

Yes I feel the same way about OLTL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoever is in charge of who gets nominated for what…….They made a Big Mistake in not giving OLTL more nominations for the awards……………Whoever they are they STINK REAL BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m speechless. OLTL and the fans were screwed. Again. 🙁

You could say that AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That really makes me angry..

One Life To Live got screwed again…

Big time.

They sure did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoever is in charge of who gets nominated or not are a bunch of IDIOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your right about that.

OLTL got left out in a lot of these catagories !!!!!!!!!! That makes me angry…It deserves to be in every catagory…What is going on here !!!!!!!!!

Can’t believe OLTL wasn’t nominated foe best show!!

ME NEITHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They S- C – whoever is in charge of nominations…..

Who ever is in charge doesn’t watch the soap full time if they did they would have seen that one life to live was the soap to win best drama series.

I’m Speechless………………

OH GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD…………….This will probably be a GH show, I hope they don’t win Best Drama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m happy for DAYS but I didn’t expect them to get Best Drama nor Matthew Ashford for Best Supporting Actor!! Chandler Massey will win Younger Actor, if not then one of the OLTL actors! Don’t see none of the DAYS actress winning Younger Actress!!!

Very happy for Y&R but where is Melody Thomas Scott for Lead Actress????? Michelle Stafford not nominated for Lead Actress is a shocker, everytime she’s pre-nominated she ends up making the list!!!!!! Genie Francis up for Supporting Actress!!!!!!??????? Let’s see if she wins. Looking for Elizabeth Hendrickson to win this. Christel Khalil will probably win Younger Actress!

How the HELL did GH 4 actors score Best Supporting Actor???????????? Where is Billy Miller???????????????

No OLTL for Best Drama is shocking and also B&B since they submitted the foster care storyline!!! John McCook up for Best Actor is a shocker including Heather Tom over Susan Flannery!!!

Very happy for Debbi Morgan, hope she wins Lead Actress but with Erika Slezak nominated; that probably won’t happen!!!

I like your take on the Emmys… especially, acknowledging… No Nikki Newman… Melody Thomas Scott… She’s the perfect drunk…. and i mean this… it’s classic camp. Acting, so well done, that you can’t help but watch and wait for her turn on screen. i wish they’d rehire… a perfect foible… tour de force – Sean Young… it was like watching, if you will, Baby Jane Hudson and Blanche. LOL. kinda reminds you of the good old days… Serial… Cliff hanger action.

GH has come a long way…. however, i kinda feel slighted… cheated out.. since Robin wasn’t nominated… so, the excitement.. has me a little left out. Jeez… Patrick, is churning out… top drawer… must see drama. He deserves to win…

I’m rooting for Debbi Morgan… Angie… damn… she rocked at the end of AMC… when Jessie told her their baby died… and all her scenes with Dr. David… her being blind… made for captivating work with David.

my pick, is either Debbie Morgan or Crystal Chappelle… i’m rooting for Crystal Chappel… cause DOOL is my favorite soap… i’m championing DAYS. Erika Slezak has won so many times… her being nominated should be enough… sorry OLTL fans… I did say, that Robert S. Woods, Bo and Nora… should WIN.

once again… KUDOS to Days for 15 emmy nominations… as long as Will… chandler massey, wins… i’ll watch happily.

Thank U.
We’ll see who wins!

OK then… I am sure this message board will be busy today! So much to consider and to discuss. I shall keep it positive but must begin with my sad note.

BIGGEST SNUB!!! … ONE LIFE TO LIVE is not included in the Outstanding Drama or Outstanding Writing Team categories. Really? Easily OLTL was among the best of the year, delivering strong stories and remaining true to characters in the face of cancellation. That OLTL is not honored is a genuine disappointment.

I would have liked to have seen OLTL actors Jerry van Dorn, Austin Williams, Kassie dePaiva, Trevor St. John, and Kristin Alderson on the nominees list.

I greatly appreciate recognition of Erika Slezak this season. Of any OLTL actor this year, she is the one to honor. Slezak is a class act and a talent the genre should acknowledge. I feel similarly about the nod for Robert S. Woods.

While GENERAL HOSPITAL got lots of love today, I would have liked to see Lexi Ainsworth receive a nomination. She deserved the award in 2011 but voters did not see it my way. Steve Burton would be a welcome nominee, too.

I am pleased THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL did not receive Outstanding Drama or Outstanding Writing Team nods. The storylines overall — Berry Island, The Neverending Steffy-Liam-Hope Saga, all those marriage-go-rounds — left me cold. I am no hater; it is just the 2011 package is not representative of what B&B could be. I wish B&B would take time to build and develop its social awareness stories more. I do agree with the nomination B&B received for Outstanding Directing Team. They make the most of location shoots, for sure!

How about cheers for Matthew Ashford of DAYS OF OUR LIVES? And the powers that be are letting him go? Cheers, too, to Chandler Massey from DAYS.

It is good to see ALL MY CHILDREN receiving recognition, particularly Darnell Wililams and Debbie Morgan. That Outstanding Actress race is tight with Morgan in company with OLTL’s Erika Slezak and B&B’s Heather Tom, the latter of which really elevates her materials.

As for THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, it was a disappointing year in my opinion, but with a limited field, I am not surprised to see it recognized so well. It is interesting — and telling? — the actors playing legacy characters were not included in the mix. They are loved and respected by fans and those working in the industry but maybe their stories are not allowing their best performances.

That’s enough for now. I will look forward to reading what my friends here have to share. Let’s hope the awards are televised somewhere!

I can’t believe OLTL wasn’t nominated for best daytime drama and best writing team !!What are these people watching UGHHH

Ok Iakovos, I was wrong about the hairdressers, but like you said one life to live didn’t even get in that category, Thanks for the laugh.

Super excited about Chandler and Matthew, and all other ‘Days’ nominees. Also nice to see Erika Slezak on the list. Supporting Actor category is a little heavy on the GH noms, but beggers can’t be chosers.

No Melody Thomas Scott for her work on Y&R last year?! For shame!!! Travesty. Now talk of Eileen Davidson losing her job?! Not happy.

Why isn’t Don Diamont nominated???? What gives?

Wasn’t happy with the prenoms since James Scott and Alison Sweeney and the always overlooked Katherine Kelly Lang weren’t on there. I don’t know, it just seems like the Emmys are kinda a joke.

I hope Days wins Best Soap. And Chandler Massey should win this year and next.

I’ve always said… Blah! Blah! Blah! DAYS! over the years… has always been overlooked, snubbed… not given the due respect. 15 nods. sure there are 4 soaps left… Nevertheless…. My soap is red carpeting. Hooray for DAYS… Cheers to Alice Horton’s Spirit.

EJ and Sammi… Acting at their best… and giving us fans tour de force, quality stuff. wouldn’t it be great if Kristen/Susan was welcomed back. EJ needs his mother… and she can reclaim her throne… and run Stefano’s Empire… Haven’t we been saying like forever, how John and Marlena need a story?

Sammi and Carrie are sisters and DAYS core familial heroines… the chemistry these two share on screen…. with the whole cast… including Marlena… cleaning up after them and their messes… is what soap is about. I wish DAYS would reconsider and keep Carrie… I actually like, and believe her and Rafe Together. It’s sincere, adult drama.

Chandler Massey… Deserves to WIN… Will and Grandma Marlena… it’s affecting stuff they share on screen. A story, that needs to be shared… “coming out”, “bullying”, living one’s life.

I don’t necessarily like Carrie and Rafe together, but I do wish Carrie and Austin were staying. Carrie and Rafe could hook up. Then you’ve got the quadrangle with them and Nicole, her baby, and EJ so pentagon. Um, we have a story here people. Instead, they drag it down bringing on Cameron. What? The storyline with Gabi and Chad is really stupid and needs to end. Chad needs to get back with the DiMeras. He was interesting then. Ian also needs to go. I could go on all day about things to fix on this show. Number one is returning EJ to being a DiMera!

TEAM ERIKA!!!

team crystal chappell

I sometimes wonder if I live in a world by myself. The lack of nominations for OLTL absolutely floors me. I watch every single other show daily & it just floors me. I am speechless now-trying to absorb this disappointing blow. DAYS best drama? No way. Ok show but not best anything this year. And I mean, really (sorry AMC fans-I was one for decades) AMC as best drama, but NOT OLTL?? AMC had gotten so bad they got themselves AND OLTL cancelled for God’s sake. Happy for GH but I just don’t get it.

Im still sitting here scratching my head wondering how all my children got best drama series and not one life to live, I watch all the abc soaps and by far One life to live was the best soap, best actors, best writing, Does not make sense, I will never understand how one life to live got snubbed for the final last time. I hope erika slezak and robert woods wins, and seriously who cares about best hair dresser I am so disappointed. other then erika and robert I hope general hospital wins the rest. My heart has been broken.

barbara t, i know it’s only your disappointment talking — and I share it; OLTL was robbed — but the hair and makeup people are creative people, too, as much as our actors. They deserve support from the fans as do out performers.

And sadly, it seems OLTL was left out of the hairstyling category, too.

Michael Logan of TV Guide wrote, “Chance of a nomination [for OLTL is] Excellent. This was stellar work done during extremely trying times. The work of champs.” Carolyn Hinsey said, “The real travesty is ‘One Life to Live’ not getting nominated in the best show or writing category. It was by far the best soap in 2011.”

Critics and fans, as attested by the increase in ratings, know the last year of OLTL was exceptional. Why their incredible work did not translate into more nominations is mind-bogglingly incomprehensible and profoundly disappointing. So many other actors from OLTL should have been included too.

With such egregious omissions, it’s next to impossible to believe the Emmys represent the best in artistic achievement. I don’t know what the Emmys represent, but I don’t care any longer.

Totally agree!!!!! Pathetic that OLTL was not nominated. It was the best show of the year!!!!!

I agree w/ Gloria………Comment on 5/9 at 9:15am…I’m sorry fans of AMC but I use to watch AMC and lost interest in it at one point…Didn’t like the storyline too much any more… Never lost interest in OLTL…Great stories, great actors & actresses ,writers, and the stories were heart-warming, emotional… OLTL had a lot of HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As far as I’m concerned OLTL is my #1 daytime drama always……

I watched all my children from the beginning till the end and one life to live was the best soap. I never lost interest in oltl of all the abc soaps I looked forward to visiting landview, more then pine valley or port charles.

i’m not surprise about GH, even at its worse, the cast was always Great, and Guza/Phelps were capable of creating Great Moments, but thats what made them so infamous, they would give a little, but boy, took away much more.

One Life deserved best drama nod over AMC

FOR SURE

True but amc pick better episodes

Absolutely STUNNED by the omission of OLTL in the best daytime drama category– WOW!!!!!!!! As a life-long soap opera fan (and CBS refugee), I was completely hooked on OLTL, especially in the past year, and I found nearly every episode to be “must see tv.” Did the producers not submit a nomination package? If they did, what did they submit? I am shocked, saddened, and stunned by the lack of tribute and recognition to this fabulous soap… Wow…

Good question Christie. I cannot imagine what could have been submitted that would have knocked them out of the nominations. Agree with all you said.

Im so stoked that Crystal Chappell has been nominated as Carly Manning. This is a huge feat for us fans and of course CC who have been threw a massive roller coaster this last year. She did outstanding in the drug s/l and she totally deserves this NOM and defiantly the Emmy… way to go CC! Way to go!!!

OLTL should have been on the list for outstanding Drama series………What a RIP – OFF…I will be pissed-off of OLTL doesn’t win a lot of awards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To say the least………………………………………………………………………………

Go through history of all one life to live emmy awards. And you will be surprise!

Best show “One Life To Live” Hands down, the best show ever !

AMEN Brian! I

didn’t finish my sentence! I am so disappointed & just sick of the way OLTL gets treated.

I nagree with Brian…………..

As i first glanced over the list, I was certain that Vincent Irizarry would get a nomination. Imagine my disappointment when his name was not listed. There are some excellent lead actors nominated, but Vincent Irizarry has been one of the best actors on daytime. He plays DR David Hayward with the contradiction of his intelligence, strength, self reliance, lonliness and vunerability all in the same moment of a scene. The subtle accents that he plays in the role are masterful. He is master actor who plays this multi-layered character brilliantly.

Wish the best to all the nominees. And to the entire acting company of All My Children……wish you much happiness and success. Thank you for the 41 years of enjoyment and drama you provided to myself and many others.

Well said… i’ve always thought well of Vincent Irizarry… i consider him to be one of a very few Shakespears… of soaps… multi-faceted actor… he was brilliant… as Dr. Haward… especially in all his scenes with blind Angie… and his acceptance of his daughter being gay with bianca… he was that love to hate.. and you ached for his happiness…. his nuanced skill, without saying a word… portrayal. TOP DRAWER.

i can’t discount… Maurice Benard and Anthony Geary… having said this… you’d expect them EVERY YEAR… but, it leaves out talent… from the other shows that deserve recognition.

OLTL Writing didn’t get a nod??? What an insult to Ron! I’m watching Y&R, B&B, and GH now, but I’m not seeing how most of these nominees could get the nod over several AMC and OLTL actors who were left out. When will fans learn that these awards are a joke, don’t reflect reality, and have nothing to do with anything that resonates with us? Disgusted.

The Shane Morasco bullying, the two Todds, and how many other storylines of OLTL were obviously superior to the typical fare of AMC or Days or the mob wars of GH. That sums it up well: the Emmys are a joke, bearing no relationship to reality, and it’s disgusting.

You said it david, Its disgusting, Maybe the emmys are a joke, those two stories you mention says it all, those were beautifully written and better then anything I watched on all my children and general hospital.

Guys, I know how you feel it is all about picking the right reel they do not base it on a body of work, lets stop just a minute and think about this B&B won what 2 or 3 years in a row they picked as far as i was concerned infomercials but everybody praised the one or two weeks of story does not a soap opera make, OLTL screwed up when I read what they submitted I was mad. They over all were the better soap they just picked the wrong reel and so it goes.

I agree with kay kilgore.

Michael – what are the dates this period covers? I was surprised not to see Kimberly McCullough get a nomination, but figured the nomination period may not have covered the Robin death storyline.

Heather Tom & John McCook were they on a total of 5 minutes? What storyline??? I can tell you it will be Erika Slezak & Tony Geary that win. I hope RH takes supporting!

One Life didn’t get a nom for Best Drama NOR Writing? What are these people on? More proof what the Emmys can be, so unbalanced and not always fair.

But so glad Crystal Chappell got nominated, take that Days! And so glad that Erika (Vicky from OLTL) got one last nomination as Vicky!

And so glad to see Chandler Massey get nominated as Will! He deserves to win that.

Some solace today, Matthew Ashford’s last day taping on DAYS, that his peers respect his talents and awarded him with an Emmy nomination for Jack’s PTSD.

Given what has happened to the best written, more sophisticated soaps (OTLT, As the World Turns, Guiding Light), who actually could believe the daytime Emmys would recognize top talent? Last year’s telecast was unwatchable and beyond embarrassing.

It’s all TV industry politics at its worse. Nice to see Erica and Robert get noms, but OLTL was deliberately snubbed big-time, in the same way that they were booted off the air.

No OLTL, no Jerry Ver Dorn, no Austin Williams, no Ilene Kristin. Young and the Restless, Genie Francis, they have got to be kidding.

This list is bullshit!!! OLTL was the best soap of the year, and they didn’t get a nod!! I don’t give a damn if the ceremony is broadcast or not, because they snubbed way too many OLTL’ers……How in the hell did AMC even get mentioned for Outstanding Drama? It was by far the worst soap. The Daytime Emmy’s are crap! They never get it right, and I’m tired of the whole production.

As a matter of fact, after seeing this list, I’m done with soaps all together….since OLTL is not coming back, and they can’t ever seem to get the damn respect that they deserve, I’m DONE!! No more supporting any of the remaining soaps, for me. I will find another way to occupy my time during the day.

I agree. How could any fair, rational person think AMC deserved a nomination over OLTL? It’s bad enough OLTL ended almost 4 months ago and now this. It makes me sick.

Well david, I have to agree with you again.

The omission of MTS for lead actress of Young&Restless….is a shameful!!!!! Tired of seeing Geary’s name for a role that he is phoning in !!!!!! The other omission was OLTL being left off the Best Show category!!!!! There was no reason to have Days there but the Academy is trying to save it from a quick death…i.e. NBC………the other acting categories, not withstanding, why so many actors from GH in the best supporting category, they all play the same identity…….mob/psychological men who are flawed, and they have very little in terms of character and acting chops……..the men at Y&R and AMC, and OLTL and the most glaring omission of all was Trevor of OLTL….not being nominated for best male lead… the Academy gets what it deserves…..low ratings….for sub par acting, I won’t even watch because there is no suspense for me, because no one in this category deserves to win because the best actors weren’t even nominated…..i.e. Eric Braden…..Peter Bergman………David Canary……

Did you watch Anthony Geary’s work during the Jake’s death storyline, and during the intervention episode? He was anything but phoning it in, and this is a very well deserved nomination for him. I hope he wins too.

Glad MS didn’t get nominated (like she always does). She’s done NOTHING this past year to warrant a nom… Oh and GO REBECCA HERBST!

Well, once again, the Best soap OLTL has been snubbed and treated like a stepchild!! Not getting nominated for Best Soap is an insult to all the actors, writers, producers, directors, crew, etc. of OLTL!! It was a great soap for over 43 years and deserved to be nominated for Best Soap in its last year on the air! We fans Know OLTL deserved it and was theBest, even though the powers that be did not!
Congrats to all the other nominations OLTL Did get!
Happy that GH got lots of nominations!

One Life to Live should have been nominated for Best Drama. They were robbed of this and it was their last chance. I DO hope Erika wins again.

Crystal chappell and debbi morgan are the frontrunners, I seen all the reels and even erika love crystal work.

I really dislike it when people gripe about so and so being robbed of a nom, but I get it now. OLTL over Days??? What??? Days has been a hot mess for years. OLTL was superb. What were the judges thinking? Very sad. The only way to soften the blow is if Erika and Bob win.

It doesn’t surprise me that OLTL was left out of best daytime drama yet again. Why break tradition. This is how this OLTL has been treated for years. It’s a disgrace. If the emmy people cared about this genre, why not just nominate the last six remaining soaps. These people do amazing work. At least give the cast of OLTL the recognition of being nominated in their final year. Daytime viewers know OLTL was hands down the BEST DAYTIME DRAMA IN 2011. And whoever wins the award, they should mention the excepitional work OLTL did this year. YOU HEARD ME: AMC, DAYS, GH or Y&R. You will really know who the real winner was for 2011: ONE LIFE TO LIVE.

Days of our lives deserves to win, because it is high time this soap gets notice

Ummmm. Excuse me? No ONE LIFE TO LIVE in show and writing categories? Now, I’m totally convinced the emmy’s are a joke.

OLTL got robbed! How did they not get nominated for best drama and writing? They had the best story lines of all the soaps. And YR getting nominated for best drama is a big fat joke!!!

One thing for people to remember. These awards aren’t judged on an entire year of a show. They’re judged on two episodes that the producers of each show choose to submit. So while I understand people’s frustration when they say that OLTL had a great year, that’s really irrelevant to this situation, since it’s based on two episodes. We don’t know what episodes OLTL submitted. Perhaps they didn’t submit Emmy worthy episodes?

Please don’t take my head off for saying that. But it’s something to think about.

Please see my post below quoting Michael Logan from TV Guide on what episodes of OLTL were submitted and his impressions.

I think the judges should have to watch the soaps they judge 5 days a week for a year, any soap can have 1 good scene then the rest of the year it sucks, So I don’t agree with the 2 reels they turn in, it should be a year round devotion to the programs their judging, One life to live should have been on the best drama series and best writing, Something is wrong here and this has been going on for several years. and it is something us fans have been thinking about, and now its to late My soap has no more dates with the emmy, Its over, done finished.

In the past, One Life to Live was passed over for many well deserved awards. One Life to Live was treated like the unwanted and ugly step child! at ABC! Even with the series days numbered, audience viewership was on the rise! This show deserves to win. The writing and acting teams are excellent. In my opinion, OLTL deserves not only the nomination but the win for Best Drama. None of the remaining soaps measure up or deserve the win. I have never been a fan of award shows, they always seem fixed to me. The nominations this year affirm my belief the awards are fixed.

I agree with you 200%. FIXED. Because anyone with even half a brain cell, knows that OLTL was THE BEST SOAP EVER.

Don’t think so , days is up for drama series and its high time it gets awards , because its long over due, by the way days is always screw at emmys not one life to live

Your right Marisa, And I am beginning to think that the emmys are fixed. After this year I may stop caring because it does not make any sense that One life to live isn’t on the best drama series or the writing series. I keep hearing about the 2 reel thing and I don’t buy that either. One life to live was and is the best soap, there will never be another soap like it. And as usual they were snubbed once again by idiots who have no idea what a dam good soap one life to live was, Hell there are a few characters still moving on to general hospital proves my point that my soap isn’t dead and is very much alive.

By Michael Logan of TV Guide wrote, “One Life to Live: The show did a curious (and probably savvy) thing by asking the judges to view its two submissions out of sequence. First up is the hour from last December where everyone in Llanview (even badass Clint) is suddenly nuts about the TV soap Fraternity Row, an outta-nowhere twist that gave OLTL a chance to lovingly spoof our obsession with soaps and skewer the foolish suits at ABC for destroying them. Riddled with every cliché in the suds 101 handbook — “Happy is boring!” gripes Roxy in defense of Fraternity’s over-the-top dramatics — it’s a delightful bit of satire likely to score with any judge who ever toiled in daytime drama. The show’s second submission was the Valentine’s 2011 show that exploded with shocking reveals — Jess slept with Ford! Brody is the father of Natalie’s baby! Charlie isn’t Rex’s father, Clint is! In fact, there were so many feverish developments it’s laughable, but this was damn fine overkill. Plus, the opportunity to honor this wrongly cancelled soap may be impossible to resist.

Chance of a nomination: Excellent. This was stellar work done during extremely trying times. The work of champs.”

David, It makes no sense that our soap One life to live was once again left out of the best drama series.

One life to live producers should have the tale of the two todds for their episodes

Ridiculous. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. OLTL was THE BEST Soap on any network , anytime, anywhere, anyday of the week. PERIOD. It was the Best written, Most fun, exciting, Best Acted, Had the best Actors, than ANY OTHER SOAP. HANDS DOWN. And now that RON CARLIVATI, and FRANK have moved over to GH, and are bringing the cast from OLTL over, (I WISH EVERYONE of them were coming over, David Vickers, Roxy..etc..Dorian Vicki , nat, jess Rex…ALL of them etc..) GH is the most exciting. Loved Seeing ROGER ,Yesterday!! SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD to see them, Michael Easton..Love it..and now TEA…ist’s great……. How Dare OLTL be IGNORED. What A LIE. Sorry, I’ve tried watching B&B , Days, and Y&R…sorry ..Those soaps can, and never will compare to OLTL..EVER!! OLTL was soooooo different…so well written, so much fun…No other soap has ever come close, with the exception of GH and AMC..both funny soaps and different from all other soaps..they just are/were,!! FACTS ARE FACTS.

and PS) The only good thing about any of the other soaps, was finding all of the actors from GH, AMC, oltl on them…it was strange…but it was the only good part about them…….The quality of the actors from OLTL, and GH and AMC imo, remain so well ABOVE all others..just my opinion..they just are top notch..LOVE THEM.

OMG.. TREVOR ST JOHN!! Also, the best…I hope he heads over to GH…And he also deserves to win an award…All OLTL cast members deserve an award, AND THEIR SHOW BACK on the AIR!! I want it back! Can’t tell you how it feels to see them on GH..I just LOVE these people.

I read from T V. Buzz the msn blog on the computer that about (S Lucci) her former show AMC may take outstanding Drama series w/ sentimental vote..But it has to beat out Days of Our Lives and GH……………. I don’t think AMC will win.. That’s what I think…OLTL wasn’t nominated so I think GH will win outstanding Drama Series………I prefer OLTL of course but it was over looked in this category……….

Michael Logan for years has been an astute obersevrer and chronicler of the soap industry. We are blessed to have our Michaels (including our Fairman!) and a few others who dearly love the genre to regard it with respect and a critical eye for its continued improvement.

Sadly, Michael Logan apparently is not on the judging panel.

OLTL deserved the nomination for Outstanding Drama and Writing Team. Everyone who is in the know knows that. Thanks to Michael Logan for these words. And to Michael Fairman for his excellent interview with OLTL’s acting leader, Erika Slezak.

So much for the changes they’ve made being better and levelling the playing field so-to-speak. Yet again Melody Thomas Scott who turned in perfect performances EVERY SINGLE show this year got snubbed again! These awards should be about SUBSTANCE and TALENT, a person’s BODY OF WORK, not just a NAME on a card or a familiar face! These awards continue to be a joke, a total farce and utterly disgraceful because of the politics that continue to plague them! Melody Thomas Scott DESERVED to win the Emmy for Best Lead Actress, instead she was shut out yet again! I am shocked at the utter stupidity, the total idiocy of such a senseless move! Anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock KNOWS she’s been turning in phenomenal performance after phenomenal performance! This should have been HER YEAR! The judges should be ashamed of themselves! Obviously they don’t recognize TRUE TALENT when it’s right in front of their faces!

Amen Amen and DOUBLE AMEN to that!

Poor OLTL….again gets treated like second class when it deserved so much more recognition. Really, how could DOOL possibly been considered over OLTL?

Happy for Erika Slezak, Bob Woods,Eddie Alderson but disappointed that so many GH actors in supporting …how is that balanced?

Kristen Alderson has never been nominated….that boggles the mind. What extraordinary work did Christel Khalil do that got her a nomination?

I can only hold out hope that next year OLTL gets to sweep the nominations……assuming, of course there is even a daytime emmy around.

Christel Khalil submitted Cane’s Memorial. I thought that was stellar work work there and Christel did an amazing job!

Days got chose over one life to live , because one life to live producers pick the wrong episodes.

Still no word on whether we will get to see the emmys, How sad is that ? Hopefully we get some news soon that there is one network out there that is willing to put them on. I thought hln was going to do it If their not I would hope someone would say something.

I glad days got 15 nods and so happy for matthew ashford , crystal chappell and chandler massey.

Jacob Young Shares Production Pic of Cast of His New Film Featuring Joan Collins and Nadia Bjorlin

Last month, during a livestream conversation on the Michael Fairman Channel, while promoting Jason Cook’s film, Four for Fun, and featuring soap notables Jacob Young (ex-AJ, AMC, ex-Lucky, GH, ex-Rick, B&B) and Brytni Sarpy (Y&R), Young revealed some intel on his upcoming movie project.

Jacob shared that he was set to direct, produce and star in a Agatha Christie-like murder mystery feature film, Murder Between Friends shooting in Prague.

The actor/director expressed, “I’m flying at the end of the March to Prague to direct, produce and star in a film with Joan Collins (ex-Dynasty). Nadia Bjorlin (ex-Chloe, Days of our Lives) is in it, and Toby Alexander Smith from Eastenders (ex-Gray Atkins). Plus, a couple of my Broadway friends and a very well known Czech actress (Hana Vagnerova). It’s very ‘Knives Out’ without having a hundred million dollars to shoot it, but still will be a lovely film nonetheless.”
