So Muhney is already been let go? Why dont he tell us why he was let go instead of keeping secrets. Well if it has to do with the storyline then i can see why he is keeping secrets to not spoil anything

To say that JFP is NOT to blame is expected because John Davidson wants to keep his day job. The fans who watch General Hospital know the truth, Jill fired a slew of fan favorites and magnified the ones that kissed the a**. She already hired one of bff’s Steve Burton who played Jason Morgan on GH, also Shelly Altman who was a writer on the show too. If anyone looks at JFP history on soaps she has done irreparable damage to many shows she was involved with, if you don’t believe look her up. Jill has her own agenda, sit back and watch Y&R ratings you’ll see.

There’s been a lot of displeasure since JFP joined Y&R. Fans have complained and complained about casting decisions, story lines that were completely bizarre and continued for so long, it was boring in so many ways, new actors seemed to be arriving in droves, many new actors not doing a good job were replaced this year. I am at the point where i honestly don’t care about 1/2 the cast because it’s new, not that great actors with lame story lines. The veteran actors, the ones who’ve been on the show for even 5 -10 years have there place within GC and their characters are solid for fans. Also fans have had to deal with the death of Jeanne Cooper in real life & as Mrs. C on the show, recently with Delia on the show, the exit of Michelle Stafford, the soon to be exit of Billy Miller and now the amazing character, Adam, as created by Michael Muhney. Fans have also had to deal with the plots of Sharon’s mental breakdown, Phyllis being rendered to a nursing home immobile (all the while the powers that be at Y&R are obviously TRYING to find a substitute for Michelle’s great characterization of Phyllis, which of course, is impossible), the entire really stupid Carmin/Lauren/Michael/Fenn SL and now the silliness is continuing after prison times which also was a waste of our time watching whispers over a link fence between Michael & Fenn. Really? And on top, a sudden death of a little girl on the show. Do the writers really think we’ve not had enough of complete disregard to the fans discerning ability to ‘see through’ fluff plots that are merely fillers with the young actors having ‘dating’ problems? Really, that is not the nuts and bolts of this show, not at all. And what’s happened to the entire MS SL, seems like the challenge of writing consistently about a disability is too much for them. Anyway, that’s my take on this. Whoever is responsible for the firing of Michael Muhney, did NOT consider the fan’s and their attachment to Adam within the threads of the lives of the characters in GC. Any replacement of Adam’s character, and I feel the same way about Michelle’s character, will be a travesty and will not be accepted by any true fans.
Despite what any other actor says in defence of the show’s decisions, I also feel it is because they are protecting their place to keep their own jobs secure. Any company who fires someone a week before Christmas should really be totally into not giving a damn about their staff whether they are cast or even crew. They really need to feel a sense of shame about this happening now. I hope the outrage continues into January as well and I truly believe it will Twitter has a lot of power and also a petition that has been signed through Twitter links to reinstate Michael Muhney back to where he belongs on Y&R, as Adam. He will be always, THE Adam Newman, for thousands of fans of the show.

Whether or not it was phelps, the fans have spoken and they want muhney. Listen to the fans. They are who watch your show and give you ratings. You have been losing too many good actors. Muhney is just the final straw with me. To me, you show you don’t care about your fans. Goodbye young and the restless

Get back with us, Doug Davidson, when you’re on the chopping block to make room for more FOJ’s. I find it hard to NOT blame an EP who has chased off fan favorites like Michelle Stafford and Billy Miller and fired Michael Muhney while writing the most depressing as hell show and focusing on newbies who can’t act (yes, I’m looking at you “Tyler”, “Fen”, “Leslie”, “Summer”, “Kyle”, etc). Oh, and there’s her never ending Steve Burton obsession. Gee, how could any of fan displeasure possibly be the fault of JFP?

Of course there is more to the story, but to say she is not to blame, is silly. She is the EP she decides who to hire or to fired. It is her choice, no one has a gun to head making her fire MM, unless it is CBS and I can’t imagine them wanting to rid the show of a popular actor for no reason. My theory is the writers probably had some horrible story line set up for Adam and MM refused to do it . It is the only thing that makes sense. It seems to fit DD line about being a “team player”, obviously MM didn’t want to “play ball” and got tossed out for someone who would. As I said last night in different post, I wish I were a fly on the office wall to know the real story here.

I think he is covering for the bully, Eric Braden, who needs to be fired. He is a bully on and off the screen. Bring back michael Muhney, who does a great job. I know lots of fans that are upset on his dismissal and are going to quit the soap unless you can get rid of the real problem!

No need to watch Y&R now….

I have always liked Doug Davidson…he comes across as a nice guy. But, if there IS more to the story he should have expanded his comments instead of being cryptic. Unless, of course, he is going to see if MM says anything about the reasoning. The comment about “team sport” seems to imply that MM was not a team player. Well, I doubt everyone in the cast is…hard to have a group that large and have everyone’s personalities match.

I know people have a hard time believing Eric Braeden has enough power to have another actor fired but, I would be willing to bet he was a fly buzzing in the ears of TPTB since it was pretty clear he & MM were not BFFs from some of the Twitter comments made in the past.

Again….I loathe the thought of another soap going off the air but whomever is making these decisions certainly does not seem to really care about the genre. Hmmm…is Brian Frons a consultant for Sony??

I don’t think Doug would be in any way the kind of person to “cover” for JFP. Something bad obviously wnt down at TY&TR and Muhney is sadly leaving but thihink people, he could and likely will go onto the kind of rich, varied career in film or nighttime TV he deserves.
