The Bold and the Beautiful’s gorgeous Linsey Godfrey (Caroline) opened up about her real life battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system in a piece with the TCPalm.com, and how through her ordeal she became stronger and how the medical diagnosis and treatment gave her a different perspective on life.  Plus, the talented young actress was frank about the battles she faced in Hollywood post-cancer crisis after recovering in her native home of Tallahassee, Florida to landing another break in Tinseltown.  Here are some excerpts below of Linsey’s story!

“During filming of  the NBC series, Surface, she was fatigued.  When the series wrapped up, Linsey came home to Tallahassee, where the family was living at the time.  After fainting three times in one week, the then 17-year-old was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. The diagnosis came just a day after Linsey got her first movie role.  But, instead of filming, Linsey started chemotherapy.

Linsey lost all of her hair during the seven months of treatment. That’s difficult for any 17-year-old girl, but especially for an actress.  Lindsey’s mother shaved her head in support of her daughter.   Linsey worried about what people would think. “They’ll think, ‘Look! There goes a beautiful young lady, with a bald head — but what the hell was her mother thinking?'” said Linsey’s mom to her daughter.

Godfrey returned to Los Angeles a year after she left with her health and some of her hair restored. It was challenging at first, for the short-haired actress to get booked. She refused to wear a wig because it made her feel like she was still sick. Linsey estimates cancer set her career back by two years. Casting directors who were just starting to know her forgot about her after a year away.  “I am so grateful for having cancer,” Linsey said, “It changed my entire life. It gave me a completely different perspective. I am so grateful for things. I understand peoples’ struggles.”

This March, Godrey auditioned for the major contract role of Caroline on The Bold and the Beautiful. When she was hired, she was told her character did not have any tattoos.  Linsey, her two sisters, and her mother had all gotten a survivor ribbon tattooed on the back of their necks in celebration of her recovery. When producers saw the tattoo and learned Linsey’s story, they rewrote the story line and incorporated the tattoo into an episode that aired in April.   The good news: Linsey will have been cancer-free five years in January.”

What do you think of Linsey’s inspiring story?  Like many others before her and after her,  she has survived and become even stronger as a person.  And, what do you think about how the powers-that-be wrote her tatoos into her B&B story, when some  soaps do not like to allow some of their actors to expose them on camera? Let us know!

I love Linsey; are addition to B&B has been a golden gift. Her storyline is everything that the show should be right now– strong, confident, emotional and original. And her strength by battling cancer is beyond commendable and admirable. I hope she gets more involved with her namesakes history and that Joanna reprises Caroline as an apparition to Caroline!

I hope she stays cancer free and her baby is healthy I wonder if the baby is a boy or girl but either way I bet it will be gorgeous as her and Noah from young and the restless they make such a good couple you would never have thought of them of all people on both shows to be together but honestly they make a beautiful couple and I bet the baby will be as we’ll

I love Linsey and her story is much like her acting “perfection”. I thought the way they had Caroline meet Noah in Y & R at the Chelsea Fashion Show was so beautiful. I think these two are going to have a beautiful baby . Her boyfriend is handsome and she is just beautiful. I hope only good things for these two in the future.

My daughter was just diagnosed with Hodgkin at age 22. Thank you network for getting her word and love out there

Linsey Godfrey ( Caroline ) I couldn’t believe that such a stunningly pretty lady had had this crummy sickness.

It just goes to show all of us humans if our families support us and we have the want to fight fight with all our might a human being can lick a lot of things hurled at us.

Good Luck Linsey you are the prettiest lady on the show and now I know what you have endured I have even more admiration for you.

Regards Peter Cullen

Sweet Linsey you have been through so much. I was so upset to read you were hit by a car yesterday. I’ve been watching B&B since it first aired and you are a beautiful addition to the show. I too have experienced Cancer. My cancer was diagnosed in May of 2014 and was in my right tonsil and a tumor behind it. I am still going through residual side effects and whenever I read of someone else having gone through this is touches my soul. I can relate to how it changed your outlook and admire you for being so young and having gone through this. I hope you heal well from this terrible accident and get home soon to your beautiful baby girl and your handsome fiance’ .
God Bless you! You are a true survivor and an inspiration!

Lisa Rinna Would Be Down to Reprise Her Role of Taylor McBride in ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot

When Lisa Rinna departed her popular role of Billie Reed on Days of our Lives back in 1995, her next major role would be a jump to primetime and the soapy Melrose Place.

In 1996, Lisa was introduced as new character Taylor McBride and stayed with the Fox young adult sudser for three seasons. Now in 2024, with the recent reveal that a Melrose Place revival is the works with Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton all on board to reprise their signature roles, would Rinna board the project should it come to fruition?

Speaking with PEOPLE, Rinna expressed, “Well, gosh, I’ve heard about it. I haven’t been approached or anything, but I would love to see what Taylor McBride is up to 25 years later. Wouldn’t that be something?”

Photo: FOX

OG Melrose Place fans know that in story, Taylor moved to the Melrose Place apartment building with her husband Kyle played by Rob Estes. However, Taylor had her eye on Dr. Peter Burns played by former GH star Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco). But, by the time she had moved to the apartment complex, Peter had married tough as nails ad executive, Amanda Woodward, played by Heather Locklear.

Recalling her time on Melrose Place, Rinna added that it, “was one of my greatest and most fun acting experiences, playing Taylor and working with Heather and the whole crew.”  Rinna also noted, “So if they need a Taylor McBride appearance, they know who to call. I’m around.”

The new Melrose Place is in development at CBS Studios. In the premise of the reboot, the Melrose Place residents reunite after the death of one of their friends, “but the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you want to see Lisa Rinna reprise her Melrose Place role as Taylor McBride? Comment below.

Sean Kanan’s Stepdaughter, Juliet Vega, to Appear on The Bold and the Beautiful

Coming up on this Friday’s April 26th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Juliet Vega, the stepdaughter to Sean Kanan will make an appearance on the CBS daytime drama series in the role of Michele.

Keeping it “All in the Family”, the character is named after Juliet’s real-life mother, and Kanan’s wife, writer and producer, Michele Kanan.

Back in 2012, Sean married Michele Vega and thus began their blended family which included his daughter, Simone, and Michelle’s children, Peter, Gigi, and her twins, Annie and Juliet.

According to a B&B show spokesperson, Juliet’s B&B character is intentionally named Michele in honor of her mother and Sean’s wife.

While we don’t know how “Michele” shows up in story, it is the same episode that Clint Howard makes an appearance as well seemingly tied to the case of where in the world is Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown)?

We can’t imagine that Juliet wouldn’t get the opportunity to mix it up on-screen with her stepdad, Sean Kanan. Previously, the two acted together in Sean’s streaming series Studio City, where she played the role of Delilah and he played soap actor, Sam Stevens. In it, Delilah is the bio-daughter Sam never knew he had.

So, looking forward to seeing Juliet on B&B and how ‘Michele’ turns up in the story? Comment below.
