We love the fact that young actress and model, Teresa Patel got cast as the newest addition to the fictional “Patel” family on One Life to Live! That’s right, same last name! And, this means that Vimal (Nick Choksi) is getting a younger sister!

According to ABC Soaps In Depth, “Neela, Vimal’s baby sister,  has run away from home. and shows up in Llanview.  Actress, Teresa Patel makes her on-screen debut on Thursday, November 3rd! A model and 2010 Miss New Jersey USA contestant, Patel’s Facebook page describes her as an actress, producer, writer, entrepreneur… and pharmacist! Talk about a talented young lady!”

I’m glad to see that the Patel Family is growing…..it’s nice to see diversity being represented in the town of LLanview.

WELL I LOVE VIMAL ,SO I AM GLAD ,HOPE TO SEE HIM WITH TSJ AGAIN ,SO HOPE HES STAYING

Please not another one, Come On!!!! Vimal wife is so annoying with her silly voice and bad acting now you add a sister. I’m done OLTL, I tried but your story lines are just plain boring.

i agree theses actors incouding Vimal are bad actors and annoying.

Agree! Accents sound phony and are just annoying. Rama needs to go! I have watched OLTL for years but can see why they are struggling! They better get a better story line or they are history. Sad!!

I agree with Steve about Vimal’s wife. I don’t even know her name and i’ve been watching daily for months now. But she is a bad actress and her accent gets on my nerves as well. Let’s hope this new girl is not as bad!

yes that accent i hope it’s fake and not real

Having an accent does not make someone’s voice “silly” or “annoying”. It is called being different. Rama is an interesting character, she has just been written terribly. It is not Shenaz’s fault. She is an accomplished actress in her own right. Vimal is also an interesting character. Either way, neither get much story. I am sure that Vimal’s sister will get about 5 minutes a week of airtime. That is why these characters can never be developed. There is a strong possibility that OLTL needs to boost it’s cast up so thtat there are enough players for the switch to The Online Network. It appears that The Patels may be more prominent online than on our tv sets. I for one am happy about that. So much better than yet another bottle blonde that is the norm on certain other soaps. White people are actually only about 50% of the population of the United States, but you would never know it from watching television. I can also guarantee that a Phiadelphia suburb like Llanview is supposed to be, would not look as white as OLTL does. Not only would there be some Indians living there, but there would be more Asians, Hispanics, African Americans, Homosexuals, Atheists, Muslims, Buddhists, etc. The lack of diversity is one of the reasons that soap opera ratings have declined drastically over the years. 50% of population does not see themselves reflected on tv. So I think if you can spare the 5 minutes a week for the actress with the “silly” voice, you may find that she will become an internet phenomena and help OLTL become a success.

I AGREE totally!

Thank you. I expected hate mail from that post.

her voice is annoying and she is a bad actress and vimal, i’ve seen other native americans, indians actors that were good, but theses arent.

Who said anything about her accent, I surely didn’t. Once again, she’s annoying with her silly voice and a very BAD acting.

i dont care hat race , as long as they are good actors and vamal and raml are not good.

Hey Todd, I agree with you. OLTL does try to provide diversity, more than B&B, GH and DAYS. B&B takes place in Los Angeles, where there are many Latinos, African Americans and homosexuals, but you wouldn’t know it watching the show. Salem, where DOOL takes place only has one two hispanics and two african americans and the same goes for GH (Epiphany & Shawn). The world is made of many colors and we all want to see ourselves represented on screen. Maybe that is why cable and internet programs are succeeding, while the networks are failing.

I hope when OLTL moves to online, they hire good actors and fire their current director, because the actors tend to over- act at times (the newer actors).

Shenaz Treasurywala’s accent is REAL and I personally find it very very sexy. She’s also the only reason I even bothered to watch this soap opera nonsense.

Llanview has been home to a diverse populace …..
I like the Patel family I hope they stick around for the transition to online.
