I don’t think I have seen anything she is done but she is beautiful and will make a great Abby.

AGREED. And, I also feel your disappointment. I hear you. All of you!!
Besides Underwood, there are so many other actresses who could have definitely fit the bill.
However, as is my nature, i’d like to give anyone a shot. Then, critique…LOL.

I haven’t seen her in any other roles either, so I hope she will make a great Abigail, BUT, will anyone else notice the new Abbey has BLUE EYES???

I am very disappointed they didn’t get Brittany Underwood. You’d think TPTB would want someone with daytime experience to take on this critical role. But, welcome and the very best of luck to Marci Miller.

Just because you’ve got experience in daytime does not mean you are qualified for the part, and IMHO, Brittany is not experienced or qualified enough for the demand of Abigail Deveraux. I have a feeling Marci Miller is going to be great!

Me too and she is working that vamp look.. She looks a bit like Elizabeth Hendickson Chloe on Y&R.. and more like a better replacement for Jen Lilley

Marci Miller more than likely went through several screen tests before being chosen for the role. I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt until I see how she does.

We’ll see. I was never a fan of Mansi in the role anyway. Nor am I a fan of the characters of Jennifer, Abigail, or JJ. Definitely willing to give Marci a chance.

No, no, no, no. Kate please come back you’re the best!
BRING BACK KATE MANSI!

Kate Mansi has made her decision. She doesn’t want to be type cast. In Hollywood, for some reason, it’s very difficult for actors in daytime to get cast in films. There’s a hierarchy in the industry; first is film, second is mainstream television and in third place is daytime.

She chose to vacate the role – to pursue other avenues. Whoever this new gal is she will have some big shoes to fill.

Great another newbie, lol. Brittany Underwood ex Langston OLTL should be the new Abigail. Good luck to the new actress, because she will need it. Days is a big, mess right now.

One small problem, Brittany Underwood was not considered.

Lol, Susan. I don’t think anyone said Underwood was considered. But, many of us suggested she’d be perfect for the role. My personal preferences were, actually, the original Colleen on Y&R, Lyndsy Fonseca or Kelley Missal of OLTL (Dani).

Never seen her work. Hope she can act. She’s got gorgeous blue eyes. Good luck to her.

Good luck! Can’t wait to see you!

WOW, she is pretty!

Right? She reminds me a little of a younger Sharon Case.

I agree!

With a dash of Mischa Barton from the O.C.

Yes, yes, Timmmy. I can definitely see that.

have to pray to the soap gods… on this

” I pray…. just pray… that she can ACT !

I pray… just pray… that she has chemistry with Billy Flynn”

Amen

ie: couldn’t find any thing… to show… for her work… except for the indie preview “dog bowl”

she films nice…

I so want this to work….

Billy Flynn is Days Leading Man

According to her IMDB page she plays the title character in a movie called About Abigail.

Her eyes are beautiful. 😉

Wish her all the best and look forward to her stepping into the roll of Abby. Hope fans will give her a chance

I do not know what to think….from the pose/expression she looks like she would be a little bit villainy-maybe a Teressa replacement…but she is Abby…we will see this fall how she fits with Billy/Chad…if he decides to ever leave i think it would be too hard to replace him-he so owns that role now…jmho!!!

I would love for Billy Flynn to leave. I have never liked him as Chad.

Wanted a bigger diva who was on soaps before

I’m going to reserve judgement.

She’s beautiful, but can she act? We don’t need another Ciara!

Speaking of Ciara. I am not a fan of the Ciara/Chad storyline. I find it creepy. I’m sad to read the new Abigail won’t debut until the fall. I was hoping it would be soon so she could put Ciara in her place. I don’t think I can stomach seeing a long, drawn out romance emerge between Chad and Ciara. I’m not sure I will keep watching Days.

I know, Shell. Ciara is barely out of diapers… It seems like yesterday that she was what? Eight? LOL.
I think it’s sick. Other than the fact that she’s still a kid, one would think that after such a traumatic ordeal such as rape, any intimacy would be repelling….like a leper’s touch. What are these writers thinking?

Yes, bad move re Chase and Ciara–W-A-Y too soon, anyway!

Oops, make that CHAD and Ciara–:)

Yes, I so agree! Chad and Ciara story is ridiculous. There has been too many of those back when Abby first started and she thought she lived Austin. Abby and ejs affair, and the last one was jj and eve. We don’t need another one of those !!

I have said from day one, when TPTB recast cute little Chase and Ciara, that
nu-Ciara did not have the skillset for this role. Given the current storyline, and the seriousness of the topic, I think its even more apparent. There was no reason to recast the smaller generation of kids. The teenage scene is not cutting it for this (past) viewer and I no longer DVR the show. The acting is awful and the storylines are beyond dreadful.

I agree, I can no longer support and defend Days anymore. And my favorite actors keep leaving it too and they only get vets back for one or a few episodes now because they can’t afford it.

I’ll be wearing white for Marci Miller’s debut, in celebration of Abby’s return!

She is pretty, but can she act? Let’s give her a chance. If she fails, I can play the role of Abigail. I will put on a wig, high heels and make up lol. I am very sexy, with a smooth body, very passable as a woman. I am Italian and do drag shows part time. I have full lips, with a nice smile. Call me Days, if you need me .

It is hard to judge by just a photo— she looks a bit too old for the role and too exotic looking to be the girl next door type that Abby was, but I am willingly to give her a shot. I don’t care if she doesn’t have daytime experience because daytime is getting a bit incestuous with the same big names hopping from one show to the next, so I am glad to see some new blood come onto the scene, yet will reserve final judgement once I see her in the role.

After Thursday’s episode, I do not think Ciara and Chad will have a romance. She mighty go fatal attraction on him!!! But- hey, that’s what he gets for moving the teenager in the house at break neck speed. Can you tell I am disappointed in that story?
Anyway!! I am excited! She appears cute and beautiful. Her reel shows talent. It was a great run with mansi but I say welcome to the crazy world of Salem miss Miller. They obviously took their sweet time with the casting so I think she and mr. Flynn will be magic together.

well it took the casting people a long time to find her… This will say a lot about them if she is the right actress. Glad they did not rush it and waited for the right one. Time will tell. .lots of pressure on these folks who hired her..

Um…Sarah Buxton circa 1997?

WELCOME to daytime Marci Miller and a VERY VOCAL fan base.. Just that quick pic of you above tells me you’ll do just fine..

We shall see……….

I am very disappointed, I love days but Kate mansi made Abby and is Abby the character won’t be the same without her , the shoes of Abby cannot be filled by anyone but Kate mansi! If she can’t play it, Abby’s character would be better off getting killed off! First ej, Sami , and now Abby . I feel like this could ruin days of our lives forever! ☹️

I really never got the obsession over her character, except the love Chad and her had.So I welcome the new girl hopefully the writers don’t mess up her only good role loving Chad.

Stephen Schnetzer Talks On His Return to Days of our Lives and Working with Susan Seaforth Hayes In Emotional Episodes

Who says you can’t go home again? In the case of Another World favorite, Stephen Schnetzer (ex-Cass Winthrop), he has proven that it is true, and you can go back to your soap roots and where it all started for you.

Last week on April 11th, Schnetzer, along with several other key returns were on set at Days of our Lives taping all-new episodes of the Peacock streaming soap opera, centering on the funeral of Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), and as part of the iconic soap opera’s 15,000th episode.

Stephen is reprising his first daytime role as Steve Olson, the brother of Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). The last time Schnetzer appeared on a DAYS set was during his one and only run on the show from 1978 to 1980. Clearly, viewers will be in for some very emotional scenes when Steve returns to Salem to be there for his sister, Julie in her time of need. In real-life, Susan has been going through her own grief, having just lost Bill back on January 12th at the age of 98.

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Stephen during the 15K episode celebration ceremony, and during a break from taping the gut-wrenching funeral scenes, to get his thoughts on being part of these highly-anticipated moments that will air later this year in December. Here’s what he shared with us below.

What has this been like for you to work with Susan Seaforth Hayes after all of these years?

STEPHEN: She’s a dream and she’s so bright. We ran lines yesterday and we ended up just visiting for about 45 minutes and just catching up and telling tales about each other’s career. She even dropped off the autobiography that she and Bill did. And being back here at DAYS, every time I turn a corner, there’s another familiar face. When I was on the show 40 more years ago, a bunch of the guys, played softball on a team together. This is really a trip down memory lane as I knew it would be.

Taping Doug’s funeral must be a hard day for Susan. Are you checking in with her to help hold her up through this?

STEPHEN: I am and I’m checking in with Amy Shaughnessy (Susan’s assistant), and she’s holding her up more than anybody. We’re there for each other.

There will obviously be some major hankie-inducing moments when Steve comes back to Salem to console his sister.

STEPHEN: Oh, wait till you see it in December. It’s going to be great.

Were you surprised you got this call to come back to the show decades later?

STEPHEN: It was out of the blue! I was completely surprised. They should have called me decades ago! That’s what surprised me. When Another World went down, I thought I’d land somewhere else and it never happened. That was more of a surprise.

Photo: JPI

Cass is such an identifiable character for you. As well, you and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia Gallant) are so synonymous together as best friends Cass and Felicia from Another World. When fans heard you were reprising your role as Steve Olson on DAYS, they are now hoping there will be more of you on the show to come.

STEPHEN: Steven Olson is a real “Cassian “character. I cut my teeth on Steve Olson and that’s how Cass was introduced. He was kind of a roguish charmer. And then when the character stuck for Another World, they rehabilitated me, and turned me into one of the shows heroes. And that’s what would’ve happened if I stayed as Steve Olson probably. So, Steve is the ‘pre-Cass’, Cass.

Photo: JPI

As the story goes, you originally decided to leave Days of our Lives?

STEPHEN: I was never on contract. I was doing a day and a half a week and I got a Broadway play directed by Franco Zeffirelli starring Joan Plowright and Frank Finlay. I was able to it as I didn’t have to break a contract or anything. I cut loose and went back to New York for that.

How well did you get to know Bill Hayes during your first time around on DAYS?

STEPHEN: My first episode was with Bill and Susan, as her long lost brother coming into Salem. They were so good to me. They were so kind. I had been doing eight years of classical repertory theater, never been in front of a camera. I tell everybody, it took me longer than any other actor I’ve ever seen to get comfortable in front of a camera. And they were very supportive at that time in my career. Coming back to honor Bill now in 2024, and to be see Susan, I am just so happy to be here.

Looking forward to seeing the scenes between Stephen and Susan Seaforth Hayes come December and Doug’s funeral and surrounding episodes? Do you hope that DAYS might bring the character of Steve Olson back for a longer stay? Comment below.
