DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Abby, Gabby, and Dr. Laura: Three Personalities But Which One Will Survive?

Courtesy/NBC

Last week on Days of our Lives, viewers were shocked when yet another personality emerge from Abigail (Marci Miller). This time it was Dr. Laura, named after her grandmother and shrink, Dr. Laura Horton.

From all appearances it seems like Dr. Laura is more in control than the fiery Gabby, or the emotional Abby. But when all is said in done, which personality will be the one that is dominant?

As we have seen with other DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) storylines, at some point, an attempt to integrate the personalities is the order of the day.  But for now, what secrets are Gabby and Dr. Laura protecting Abigail from that caused her to split? We know that she murdered Andre, but what did Andre (Thaao Penghlis) potentially say or do to her prior to his murder?

This story gets juicier every day, and kudos to Marci Miller for bringing this storyline to life from the pen of head writer, Ron Carlivati.

Now after the jump, watch this week’s promo from NBC and let us know how you think this will all play out via the comment section below!

Andre said she is nuttier than the Three Stooges-so 3 personalities developed-lol

We should find humor in this, Jimmy…..it offers nothing else. I am not liking this claptrap. I cannot take it too seriously because it is not presented as such…’Tis too farcical to take it to heart. This is a serious desease, not something of which to make mince meat.
So, you are the perfect guy to make me laugh about this complete blarney….and, Harry; but, he doesn’t watch Days, LOL.
As I said, Gabi is waaaay so unlike how Abby is portraying her….or, is this what people entrapped in multiple personalities do?
The story is too confusing to follow. At one point, I thought Stefan ( can’t stand him—too slimy and smooth for my taste—same as Nikolas—I guess that’s all Tyler can give?) and Vivian were the culprits; in that, murdering Andre was to their benefit….what’s changed? And, since when has Vivian developed a conscience????? And, And, And, …..she called Abby (as Gabi) crazy? ( paraphrasing). Hmmmm!!

Her Gabi comes off too much like the town tramp…Gabi is far from that…im just so-so ok with this story at first but now i think its a failure…finding it odd that she can walk around the Dimera Mansion as Gabi but no one else including staff ever sees her…Stefan isnt exciting and poor Vivian-i need more of her!!!!!

You hit the nail on the head, my Jimmy……mental disease or not; I’m not buying it.
And, yes….I have said the same thing….she wanders through the halls with nary a body in sight.
Something elses? She snaps in and out of her craziness almost at will….and the acting is not up to par when Marci gives that confused look to the audience…..no, no, no….me no like!! Me no believe!

im also surprised there arent security cameras in and out of the Dimera mansion…you think there would be the way they dont trust each other!

Yeah, my friend…they live within the claws of the DiMera mansion—more like a fortress with peek-a-boo doors and rooms….there should be cameras everywhere….including the toilet, LOL.
Yet, I wouldn’t discount Stefan deactivate the system, Jimmy.

You know, Jimmy….I need to give credit where credit is due…..the scene with Andre and Abby, today, was stupendous; I was awed.
Now, that was credible acting by Marci….kudos!!
Gabigail is exagerated…on purpose? I don’t know! Perhaps, this is how Abby sees Gaby and her sub-conscience tells Abby’s truth…..that her bitterness is alive and well, only stored within her psyche.
This could mean she has resented Gabi for a long time….who could blame her? She slept with her husband.
Yes, Abby was presumed dead, but, the angst runs deep.
Abby’s Laura surfaces as the mediator, but also, as a reminder to herself that her grandmother’s disease lives in her?
What I don’t understand, Jimmy, is that, typically people who suffer from DID are victims ( or have been) of abuse….all types.
……was Abby a victim? I asked my Gran, but she does not recall……is it genetic?

We all knew a DID story was coming the minute ReRon was hired to write this show, and it sucks just as much as we all knew it would.

I’m still not over the fact that he ruined one of THE most legendary General Hospital characters of all time with this dragonshit writing (yeah, I’m talking about the Luke/Fluke nonsense, and I am the one who first used the name “Fluke”, by the way)

I’m so glad I’m not a dool fan, this storyline alone would make me turn off the show, it was oltl most irritating never ending story which to me also made oltl unwatchable at times thank goodness GH got rid of RC, this type of story fits dool more then it does GH.

That fluke story, the way it ultimately ended, was a huge F U to the audience. Early on in the story, savvy viewers guessed that it was actually an embittered Bill Eckert posing as Luke. Theres nothing wrong with that because soap fans are very hard to fool or to surprise! The fact that it was Bill made complete sense within the GH world. The dialogue, referring to Tracy (about what she did to Jenny) made sense. It would have been a good storyline in its own right, exploring what made Bill so evil! But Ron got pissed off that the audience guessed ahead of time, and that was the same time that Ron was caught up in a major social media maelstrom, mostly to do with killing AJ. Ron was right out of control! So he completely changed the story so it would be more of a shocker, that it was Luke on an extended lifelong psychotic break. It was a betrayal of what had already been established and shown in the story which is a cardinal rule a show cannot break. You can shock your audience, or surprise them with legitimate WTF moments, but you cant show us something and then completely backtrack and backpedal and make it into something completely opposite. I was really disappointed that the show won an Emmy that year on the basis of the Fluke wrap up episode, but as a stand alone episode, if you knew nothing about the show or the characters, was very well done! It was surprisingly well written! It was cleverly inserted into historical context of the very first episode of GH. The acting was incredible from everyone!! The production values really made it look like it was from a different era. Ron seems unable to come up with gripping drama unless there are twins, or doppelgangers, or masks, or split personalities. I am cautiously going along with this one, because Marci Miller is SO good! Also because Ron is on a tight leash at this show! He has Sheri Anderson who has written much of the shows most successful material, and knows the history. And he has Ken Corday who probably made it clear that it was DO or DIE time for the show. And this DID is different, because she is taking on the personalities of people around her who have tried to help her, but didnt help much in the long run! This story involves all the characters we love and care about, and Ron has not been allowed to flood the show with newbies and nobodies like he did at GH.

Agreed. Fluke was the worst soap abomination ever. And there were a few more over at GH from Ron as well. But I have to say, I am enjoying Days right now!

I am enjoying Days, as well, dan……most storylines, as I haven’t in a long while.
The multiple personalities could have been intriguing, if the ‘telling’ were not so ‘misplaced’….you know? It came out of nowhere, in order to fill some fantasy….whose? Ron’s?
And, to add insult to injury—-baaad acting by Marci and Tyler. Usually such mental disorders and how the afflicted person navigates through it reel me in….this one puts me to sleep because of its childish writing…..someone did not do his homework again…..Abby has been completely turned into an idiotic nonentity….
As I said more times than once, will the ending be as frustrating as Fluke’s? There actually was no story—-I see the writing on the wall here, as well….that is, no writing. LOL.
I can’t stand Stefan….instead of helping Abby, he is taking advantage of the situation. To what rnd? I’m sure his mind is working overtime.

Wow. Heard and noted hombre. LOL.

I think Andre did something to Abigail that reminded her of Ben……maybe he made a strong pass at her….and then she snapped killing Andre/Ben in the process

I read a spoiler claiming Andre was trying to rape Abigail.

What a great premise,Christine, and Carrie!!…..now, the combination of those two situations would make so much more sense.
Perhaps, I’m jumping the gun? As it is, I can’t see the story standing on two feet–four, if you count Stefan. He should tell Chad and try to help Abby; not allow her to continue with this calamity–Abby is very dangerous, right now. This is my opinion, of course….however, Chad should know what is going on with his wife, nonetheless.
I detest Stefan even more for keeping this ‘hidden’, as it were….it is neither his right nor his decision.

I’m a fan of DID story lines, but there were a few moments last week when it seemed like Carlavati was actually recycling dialogue from old One Life To Live scripts. It’s still intriguing however, and I think Marci Miller is doing a fine job with it.

I know a lot of people are complaining about RC and his DID storylines but back in the day Kimberly Brady had a alter when Patsy Pease was on so everybody does it RC just likes those stories like Bill Bell liked love triangles with siblings etc. every writer writes with what they feel comfortable with just like Pratt and the disaster goofy stories just like JFP as a producer loved to blow up sets ane replace them with cheap stuff.

I understand, Kay, my friend…..the difference for me would be that Ron is not creating an interesting story for Abby. She does not come off as someone with a mental disorder…..just a nut where I, instinctually, want to shut her up.
And, there’s no comparison to Bill Bell—you said it, Kay….he could create the most engaging love triangles….unforgettable…..

Speak for yourself Satan! I like this storyline! I also know you did not coin the name “Fluke” as most critics called him Fluke! I am actually hoping s few more personalities come out here! Classic soap story here!

Hi, Phil,
I do not object to this type of storyline, as I am sure Satan does not, either….it is the way it is told. Not believable….different strokes for different folks.
It is an opinion….

I like the story, too, Phil. I think Marci is doing a great job and I also think she’s got Gabby’s mannerisms down pat, from the flicking of her hair to the way she puts her hands on her hips and stands back. And then the transitions…just great work. And when I think of the dialogue and again mannerisms of the different personas she’s taking on it’s even more impressive. (LOL; I’am ALWAYS impressed with all actors everywhere who remember pages of dialogue. Don’t know how they do that!!!!!)

And, I’m loving Tyler is this role. I’ve always liked his quiet manner that somehow still translates into a strong personality.

I have really enjoyed “Gabigail”, she’s stunning, very sexy and really hot with Stefan! I’m hoping when this story is over that Abby is more like her, more sexy and confident. I’m sure Stefan will bring that out in her.

So, blake, what you’re saying is that Gabigail is an exaggerstion of Gabi? If that’s the case, then I can understand ….but, the confusion should be cleared. There’s no line between the two, and now a third?
I do agree about Marci’s looks…..she’s beautiful. I had commented on the fact that with her coloring she needed to wear bold colors and darker eye make-up. What a transformation.
I hope that, after all is said and done, Abby is restored. I would not be happy if Abby becomes enamored with Stefan and take it to the point of no return.
I do believe Stefan is doing his damnedest for that to happen. Poor Chad!

I’m so glad Marci Miller is playing this than that Kate what’s her name

Mansi. She was the best !!

I have no idea where Ron is taking this story but I’m in for the long haul. DID stories are one of my three favorite soap plots (baby switches and housewife hookers are the other two) so I’m glued to my screen.

Housewife hookers?? Cracking up, here…..

You must love the shows on Bravo then. 😉

@Angel.
Hi, Angel,
What show? I, actually, don’t watch anything on “Bravo”, LOL…..if you mean “Housewives”?…. I don’t even know what network ‘spits’ out that trash….have never watched an episode.
You are too funny, Angel….I like that.

Tony Geary ruined the Fluke storyline by dictating story and his six months vacation schedule. It didn’t help when he injured his back and prolonged the “Fluke” saga beyond recognition.

righto!

As fierce as Marci Miller has been portraying these parts, the emergence of Dr. Laura is now reading like a retread of the Viki Lord/Niki Smith/Jean Randolph storyline on One Life To Live in the 1990s.

Yup….that’s why it is so boring for me. Something’s gotta give ( as my Gran is wont to say).
I have to be sooo wowed, Angel, by this story, until I will obliterate all the others, which have been already told, from my mind. We shall see.

Everything about this is just beyond awful!!!

Enjoying it.

Come on Ron can’t you write anything but DID storylines. First OLTL the GH now Days enough. Find something new to write about already and please dump Alain from this show

I am loving this story and Marci is doing a phenomal job. Luckily for me, I never watched those other soaps and I’m too young to remember the Kim sl, so this is my 1st DID story. I’m even more lucky that it got bestowed on my favorite female character. This story is a total WIN WIN for me. Hats off to the writers and actress. And kudos

LOL, Lisa Ann…..I’m 31, but, I do remember Vicki/Nikki ( OLTL), which never really stopped…..it trickled down to her daughter, Jessica. However, I loooooved the continuing story.
So, you do have a point….it was my first DID, where I actually understood and enjoyed. I guess every storyline after that has become mundane for me, merely tolerable….the Abby story needs a twist which has never been used before.

Well, I don’t think the Transitions between the personalities are all that believable, no offense to Marci, but I think they could have been presented better. I blame this on the story boards and also the direction, not necessarily on the actress, although she is no Erika Slezak – plus of course, this kind of thing has been done to death and probably done with more conviction on other shows.
Why do I watch the show? That’s an equitable question – I suppose after a day of working around deathly ill people (I work in a Cancer Clinic) I need to watch something ridiculously inane and this show fulfills that need LoL –

Well I for one love this story.Marci is playing her roles to perfection Even my best friend loves this story. All to often think just because someone has a mental illness they tend to think we are crazy.which is not the case.Take if from someone who knows. Now I think that Abby may come out of this alright. All she needs is a lot of love and support from her friends.

I know,xmascarol…..it is sad for those with DID, or any psychological issue, to be called crazy….the word is used too loosely. But, when Vivian said the word, I did chuckle at the irony….you know?…, calling the kettle black syndrome.
I think that those of us who sort of “object” to the storyline, is probably because it has been told ad nauseam. As I said, Abby’s story must have an awesome and mind-spinning twist—-different from all the rest.
What I am wondering is; if Abby goes on this trip with Stefan ( which, as we all assume, is an excuse to get her away and, at the same time, protect himself and his mother), what happens when she transformes to her multiple personalities? Will they all play along?
From what I understand, each one is aware of the other? She may even assume a Chinese personality, once in Hong Kong…..and, I do not mean this facetiously. I am quite serious.
Some scenes by Marci are spectacular—some I find cartoonish….yet, the exageration is probably done purposely? I have never known anyone with the disorder, so the “attitude” of flaunting and flair is a manifestation of the ailment.

Days of our Lives Star, Greg Vaughan, Gives Health Update and Thanks Everyone for Their Support

Greg Vaughan (Eric, Days of our Lives, ex-Lucky, GH, and ex-Diego, Y&R) provided an update on his health on Sunday, March 17th. Vaughan had previously shared that he had become ill during a trip with his sons to Colorado, and had developed altitude sickness when he was having trouble breathing accompanied by terrible headaches and landed in the urgent care.

Now on St. Patrick’s Day, Greg took to his Instagram and shared how he is feeling now, and to thank everyone for their love and support.  As it turned out, Vaughan was diagnosed with high altitude pulmonary edema, commonly known as HAPE. However, he is on the mend slowly and surely.

In his new video post, the DAYS favorite started by expressing, “I just felt such an appreciation and gratitude for everything. . reaching out. Your prayers have been felt. It’s been a struggle, but I’m over the top. And, taking this moment just to say I didn’t realize the things that I was going through. My (original) post was simply just to educate, put some information out there and some things that I was feeling, just share that information and the struggle that I was going through, which I didn’t quite understand. And it wasn’t because I’m stubborn or just because I’m a father, a man, and didn’t want to go to a doctor. It is just something I thought was so minor that I could overcome it, just by taking care of myself.”

The Daytime Emmy winner then revealed his actual diagnosis, “So, basically my situation was high altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE). With some good friends, doctors that had reached out to me, it kind of gave me some understanding on the aftermath, which was very, very beneficial.”

“But I’ve been resting, taking care of myself even though I live in a hamster wheel,” said the dad of three teenaged boys. “I gotta get up and, you know, do my normal domesticated stuff, eventually. I’m tired of laying down in this bed, but, I am feeling much better.”

Talking on his confusion of trying to understand what could have been ailing him, Vaughan expressed, “I couldn’t quite figure it out, even though I was emphasizing and professing to my children going on our spring break getaway about hydration. I professed it. But, even though I was acting on it, it had a greater effect on me, and for which I did not even think, because my head was such in pain, and I was in a very bad state of mind – not being able to be out there with my kids on the mountain, enjoying their time, as well. I thought I was doing the right thing. Unfortunately, my lungs were full of fluids and my head was in severe pain and even migraine pills didn’t even help. So, I just want anybody that goes into the Colorado Mountains to know, it is no joke. It is this very serious thing which I guess is why they call it the Mile High City.”

Greg had a mountain of ‘thank you’s’ to give for the outreach he received from his original post, “For everybody internationally, wherever you are, I love you and I appreciate you and just the time and the thoughts that you’ve shared with me,” said Vaughan. “I didn’t realize that it would make such an impression on so many people around the world. I feel tremendously loved and I can’t say it enough. I’m good. And I appreciate you.”

Photo: GVaughanIG

The actor concluded his video with, “To all the family and friends that have reached out to me, man, it means the world. So take care of yourself, enjoy your spring break with your families. It’s Saint Patty’s Day, obviously. I wish I could be out there.” Vaughan added, “I feel loved and touched and I can’t emphasize that enough. I’ll take better care of myself, promise you will do the same.” Before he signed off, Greg shared, “Just know, that I’m alive and well and breathing, and I’m sore. So, be well, take care. I mean it. Thank you, tremendously.”

Glad to know that Greg has been on the mend, and shared his appreciation for everyone that reached out to him during this trying time? Comment below.

Days of our Lives Star Greg Vaughan Shares Sudden Health Scare: “I Truly Feel Like I Work & Live in a Soap Opera!”

What started out as an adventure with his sons, quickly turned into a nightmare for Days of our Lives Daytime Emmy winner, Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady).

In a series of Instagram posts, Vaughan shared the sudden health crisis he found himself in.  The images show Greg with an oxygen tank to help him breathe.

The actor began to fill people, sharing, “I’ve said more than a few times, I truly feel like I work & live in a Soap Opera! 🤪 this trip was nothing short of another great Vaughan adventure!”

He went on to say that on a father and son Colorado spring break trip, he began to feel shortness of breath, feeling tired and with a headache and after two days of hoping he would feel better, Vaughan finally went to an Urgent Care to get checked out.

Photo: GVaughanIG

“I finally surrendered & went to urgent care and to my shock I learned that I was experiencing severe altitude sickness.” Vaughan admitted. “My Blood Oxygen was at 54% & my lungs were full of fluids! Blood oxygen, also known as oxygen saturation, represents the percentage of hemoglobin in your red blood cells that is carrying oxygen. Most people have an oxygen level of 95-100%….”

Providing more detail to his health scare, Greg shared, “Well, 4hrs later, a couple of bags of IV & oxygen tank strapped to my face, I was told that I needed to immediately get off the mountain! However I couldn’t, we still had another day to go & wanting the boys to enjoy their last day on the hill tops! I opted to go home with an oxygen tank, a good laugh for everyone, and I know will follow, but my boys looked after their old man & fortunately they had friends on this trip!”

Photo: JPI

The experience of altitude sickness in the Colorado Rockies gave Vaughan a bit of a new perspective, “In all seriousness, no matter your age, and all the times I’ve ⛷️ & 🏂 in my lifetime, Colorado Rockies is no joke! As they say, ‘ take a breathe and smell the roses!’ That is truly something we need to remember & appreciate! #recover”

Share your well-wishes to Greg as he continues to be on the mend via the comment section below.
