DAYS Peter Reckell Reflects On Bo's Death, His Heartbreaking Scenes, If He Would Ever Return & Fan Reaction!

Two weeks ago, Days of our Lives viewers watched in shock as their beloved anti-hero, Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) suddenly died as he was recalling his iconic love story with the love of his life Hope (Kristian Alfonso).  In an episode which contained touching writing harkening back to the history of Bo and Hope, historical clips, and beautiful performances, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Bo collapses in Hope’s arms.  And with that, fans of Peter Reckell and Bo Brady learned that indeed the actor’s highly touted return to the NBC soap, which just turned 50-years-old in November, was short-lived.  But during his recent run, it provided emotional material for Reckell, and his long time castmates.  For it had been over three years since Peter left the legendary soap opera, and with a feeling that the manner in which Bo was written out left much to be desired, and much unresolved.

While Reckell’s visit was not long in 2015, he still delivered what he is known to portray better than anyone else: deep emotions, heart, passion, and the guy you just want to give a big hug to!  In part two of our interview with Peter, we discuss his thoughts now on the show losing Bo, as well as him having to say farewell to this character he embodied over decades.  Peter also shares if he would ever entertain the notion of returning to DAYS, since the mantra is usually “never, say never” in soapland, when characters die.  When you think about the scenes fans recently witnessed between his DAYS co-stars: Mary Beth Evans (Kayla), Stephen Nichols (Patch), Galen Gering (Rafe), Kristian Alfonso, Peggy McCay (Caroline) and more, it’s hard to imagine that long-time viewers weren’t touched by all of it, and Peter weighs-in.

As it’s truly an end of an era, Peter reveals the emotions he felt filming his final scenes, and the emotions he felt watching the fans’ response, and his co-stars reactions to Bo’s untimely death.  He also addresses the reported decision making process to kill off Bo, what would he like to change if he could from Bo’s final story beats, and more.  Here’s our very special chat with an actor whose performances will always remain in our hearts, and will always be unforgettable.

DAYS fans, and in particular those of Bo and Hope, witnessed an emotional hankie-filled episode that was devoted to the super couple, with a look back at their enduring love story with retrospective clips.  This was happening right as Bo was dying in front of his beloved “Fancy face”.   It was a beautiful episode.  Did you watch it?

Courtesy/NBC

PETER:  Yes, mostly because my wife Kelly’s song played in that episode.  But then I watched it.  As I have told you before, I usually don’t watch myself.  I think mostly what affected people were the memories.  Most of those scenes were 30, 25, or 20 years old, and so that sort of tells you the landscape of who has been most affected by this.  It’s those people who were changing their high school and college schedules so they could watch the show, pre-DVD and DVR, and back when we were putting DAYS on our VCR’s. (Laughs)

For that retrospective episode, and the moments within it where Bo brings the oak tree, and the carnival tickets out of his pocket (all relating to key moments in Bo and Hope’s past), did you have a hand in saying to the writers and producers, “This is how I would like that show to be created, and for Bo to die?”

Courtesy/NBC

PETER:  No.  I was just there for the ride, and doing what they asked me to do.  I have said all along, I was really proud of the writers, and how they did this, as it’s a difficult thing.  People are both cranky and pissed that Bo is not going to be there, and also thankful that they finally had some definition of what happens in the relationships and with the character.  It was a double-edged sword that the writers were able to navigate pretty well.

After Bo dies, he is lying on the ground and Kristian Alfonso, Mary Beth Evans, and Stephen Nichols, your long-time acting partners. are pouring their hearts out above you grieving over the sudden death of Bo.  Was that moment surreal for you?  How were you just able to lie there while they were acting circles above you?

PETER:  The difficult part was not having tears streaming down my face.  It was like I wanted to say, “Hey, let me reach up and hug you while you are crying!”  It was that kind of moment for me.  Actors are put in difficult situations, and that was one of my most difficult situations to just try to be convincingly dead, because there were so many emotions going on inside my body at that time.

Overall, what can you say about filming your final scenes?  The moments where Kayla tells Bo that he is dying was exceptional, the moment between Patch and Bo after Patch finds out Bo hasn’t long to live … there were some very powerful nuggets within the story.

PETER:  It was difficult and rewarding work, and to be able to have the kind of material you can sink your teeth into.  That scene with Stephen Nicholas (Patch) and myself in the park … I get all choked up again just talking about it.

Following Bo’s death, and over the last week and a half of airshows, fans have been watching what seems to be a “Ghost Bo” propelling and egging Hope on to find answers to who kidnapped him, and ultimately was responsible for his life being cut short.  How do you explain her visions of Bo?

PETER:  It took me awhile to get it when reading the scripts.  Finally, the writers told me it’s Hope’s subconscious, and her feelings of not only guilt, but love.  And because Bo’s death came so quickly, and with the closure, I think it needed some padding for people’s hearts to land on, so they can see Bo a little bit again.  I wasn’t Bo anymore, but a manifestation of Hope’s interior world.

Looking back on it, it seemed like an interesting choice by DAYS to not have Bo have many goodbyes with people; whether that was for the impact of him dying all of a sudden and the shock of it all, or whether it was for lack of time to execute those scenes.  Would you have preferred to have farewell scenes with long-time castmates: Peggy McCay, John Aniston (Victor), Jason Cook (Shawn-Douglas), and Josh Taylor (Roman)?

PETER:   I think being back in Salem for another week would have been nice.  I kind of agree with that, and to be able to see Bo, and these iconic relationships that Bo had with his brother, his mom, etc.  There were some relationships there that were skipped over, which would have been nice to play.  They did what they could, and you can’t drag something out like that for too long.  Bo was crying quite a bit as it was.  If he has too many of those scenes it would get too repetitive, and then the audience would get too tired of it.

You did play some scenes with the new Ciara, Vivian Jovanni.  What do you think will happen to her now that the father she missed so much … is dead?

PETER:  The thing that occurred to me afterwards is that Ciara is sort of carrying the mantle of Bo Brady.  She’s obviously Bo’s daughter.  She is a rebel, hardheaded, but with a heart of gold.  You don’t have to hire a new Bo, because she is the new Bo!

In the recent issue of Soap Opera Digest, which included an interview with you, DAYS executive producer Ken Corday noted that once the show knew that you were only coming back for a limited time, a decision was made to kill the character off, as it was best to have closure in the relationship of Bo and Hope.  He said it was also a painful decision to make.  But would you say it was made by mutual decision?

PETER:   The decision was basically made three years ago, and even longer than that.  In the climate that I left the show previously, I did not have a storyline.  So the decision was not made this year.  My decision was: “If I’m not going to be utilized, then I am not going to be part of mainstreams storylines.  I would much rather not miss out on my daughter’s life.  Not miss out on her discoveries of her life, and not be an impact on her, and not share her life with her.”  Having left the show, and having made my choices from then on, it was making my daughter my first priority.  There was no decision made when Ken Corday called me this time.  It had been in the works for several years.  The fact that people are going back and forth with, “Well, Peter decided to be there a short time,” or “Ken decided Peter would be there a short time” …  that decision was made many years ago.

It was amazing to watch how you were helping your passionate fans who were mourning Bo, and bridging the gap between you and them, with your responses via social media, the day Bo died, and in the days following.  Were you overwhelmed by the response you received?

Courtesy/NBC

PETER:  I have been overwhelmed since the audience knew I was coming back, because the response has been so amazing.  I have been overwhelmed for many months now, and then this last few weeks even more so.  When I came back to the show 20 years ago, Ken Corday said to me, “You know, Robert Kelker-Kelly (Ex-Bo) people really, really liked him.  I hope this works out.”  Ken was concerned that people wouldn’t respond to me being back.  I was not at all prepared for the response this time in 2015.  When Bo was in prison this time for so long, people were going, “C’mon! Get him out of prison.  I’m tired of seeing him in there!” (Laughs)  They wanted to see their hero being a hero, instead of lying around moaning and groaning in a prison cell.

In addition, what was so heartwarming was seeing your co-stars on the day Bo passed, and the next day posting on social media their thoughts, “thank you’s”, admiration, and paying a tribute to you for your years of collaboration together.  I’m speaking in particular of the posts and sentiments shared by Mary Beth, Stephen and Kristian.  What did you think when you saw they shared about you?

Courtesy/NBC

PETER:  I poured my heart and soul into Bo, and when you are passionate in your work, passionate people respond.  When you look at Mary Beth Evans, you can see our relationship.  You look at Peggy McCay, you see it there.  Even the short scenes I had with Drake Hogestyn (John Black), you could see our relationship.  And even though Galen Gering and I didn’t know each other that long, nor did we have any real powerful scenes before I came back, there is a respect and a camaraderie that comes when you are pouring yourself into these scenes.  What we do for a living is all-emotional, and when you allow yourself to delve deep into those emotions, you have a connection.  Like Galen Gering said, “He was just going along for the ride,” because I was so committed to those scenes (where Bo tells Rafe to look after Hope).  Then, you see it in his eyes when we are performing that scene.  He was just as committed, and going along for the ride.  I even got a call from Ken Corday thanking me and saying, “Whenever you want to come back….”  And I said, “Huh?” (Laughs).

So after all that has happened on-air now, and on social media, would you want to go back to DAYS?

Courtesy/NBC

PETER:  The difficult part is: I don’t want to raise my daughter in Los Angeles.  Our lifestyle and the energy in the air is so different where I am in Nashville.  I don’t see myself and my family living in LA again.  The shooting schedule for DAYS was perfect.  I had to be there off and on for a few weeks.  I was in studio a few days a week, and then I would come home.  I was very fortunate that when I came to work, Louden was off of school.  So my family moved to LA for a month.   Kelly was able to do a lot of stuff while we were there.  Louden was able to hang with her best friend for a month.  But I don’t see us living there, and being there on a permanent basis.

Did you feel then the way the story was told, and what seemed like a finite way to kill Bo was the best resolution for you, and the audience?

PETER:  Yes, so people don’t have the same reaction and feelings they did before.  I know the audience was upset and wanted to throw things at the TV, and went through some of things I did, but there was an end.  They aren’t left hanging wondering what the hell happened.

How was it filming those final scenes with Kristian?  What are your thoughts on how the relationship with Bo and Hope was left?

Courtesy/NBC

PETER:  Kristian and I had such a connection over so many decades.  You look at some of the stuff from the beginning: we were just two kids flying by the seat of our pants (Laughs) and doing whatever we were asked to.  Our relationship sort of reflected what Bo and Hope were going through.  It was difficult this time, because Bo and Hope didn’t really connect until the last two shows of mine.  Hope was wondering, “What is going on with him?”  Meanwhile, Bo had the tumor that was affecting him, and the headaches going on that he was trying to keep from Hope.  Bo felt that Hope wouldn’t be able to handle his dying on top of everything else she was dealing with, and just went through with Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove).  So as characters, we didn’t really connect for a whole lot of time.  I think the writers saw that.  Bo and Hope finally connected, and then Bo was gone.  Even though the audience got a chance to say goodbye to Bo, Hope and Bo didn’t get a chance to say goodbye, and to say goodbye to the relationship.  There wasn’t anything for Hope to be able to move on with her life, basically.  I’m not sure, and this is just a feeling that I have, that they might come up with something to have me back to sort of help resolve that relationship.  The writers came up with a pretty cool storyline when I was back, and I trust that they will come up with something good … if they even decide to do that.  I would think from the audience reaction, they would have to figure out something.

Courtesy/NBC

This week, viewers watched Bo’s funeral!  Was it hard for you to imagine that they were even having a funeral for your character?

PETER:  Yeah!  It’s kind of strange (Laughs).  I was getting people sending out comments like, “Oh, the Thanksgiving show touched me so much.”  And I didn’t read those scripts because I wasn’t in them (Laughs), so I did not know what happened in them.  Again, the response to all of these moments has been overwhelming in how much the audience cares about Bo.

How is it for you now dealing with, and mourning the loss of Bo?

Courtesy/NBC

PETER:  Bo passed away, and they did it in a manner that was powerful.  If that is then end of Bo, that’s the end of Bo, but I am not one to burn bridges.  It was goodbye for me, and it was traumatic, and still is.  It’s always difficult to say goodbye.  You put so much emotion and time into it.  You recall the little things: There was a scene on location where Bo was in a fight.  I got an elbow that landed in my mouth.  I am standing there bleeding, and then I get 8 to 10 stitches in my mouth, and in my lips.  I go on working for the next two days, because we have a whole production team out there.  A movie star would go into his trailer, and go, “OK, I will see you guys later.”   I remember one day I woke up and had a black eye from playing on Ken Corday’s softball team.  I am lying in bed with my eyes completely closed thinking I don’t know if I can come into work.  I remember then I got a call from Ken asking me to come in to work!  I go, “I can’t see!”  But Ken says, he will send a car for me.  So, I have put a lot into this, and I am very lucky, too!  I am not saying that anybody took advantage of me, they didn’t.  It’s just something that I was very passionate about, and that the show was very passionate about, for a long time.  So that makes it difficult to leave and go on to the next chapter of my life, whatever that may be.  And if I had this kind of story when I left three years ago, I might not have left.  But now I have experienced being a father, and the elation and rewards of being a dad.  In the past, I missed my daughter’s first steps, and first words.  I would get calls from my wife about it, but now I get to experience all of those things.  Being a dad is very rewarding, and I am enjoying it.

So now that you got back in step with acting again during your stint at DAYS, do you want to do primetime, and film roles?  I am sure your fans will follow you anywhere!

PETER:  Right now, I would like to do something every now and then, which going back and doing DAYS brought back to me.  Prior to going back, I was fine just being a dad.  But going back, it sort of made me realize that I miss this environment where you get to have huge emotions.  Out there in the real world, you get pissed off at somebody and they really don’t like it much, and you’re not supposed to have big emotions.  I’m a kid at heart, and a little kid can stomp their feet, and cry, and get away with it.  However, adults aren’t supposed to do that. (Laughs)  But this audience has been so incredibly supportive of me, and is so special to me, that I don’t intend on losing our connection.  I am looking forward to the future, for sure.

So, what did you think about the thoughts shared by Peter’s  on his DAYS exit, and Bo’s death?  What did you think about his final scenes with his longtime co-stars?  Do you hope the writers try to bring bo back again?  What did you think about his performances during what seems to be his final DAYS story arc?  Post your thoughts on the emotional sentiments discussed with Peter in our interview in the comment section below!

Bo should stay dead,,,just like the others…i like getting emotionally invovled with these characters who are almost like a second family…why waste time killing someone off and letting us get emotionally involved only to have the character return…it makes me feel cheated and like i wasted my time getting involved…instead bring back other characters or new ones with some connected to the vets and move the characters forward instead of recycling the same thing over and over…like when Stephano was killed off several times only to return…there is no suspense when you know they arent truly dead!

LOL you know what Jimh..I agree..good luck to you in the future..you are NOT going to be a part of Nashville or any other show..the 80’s are over..just like your weathered face..I was glad to have Bo back..I was annoyed at the unending torture scenes and that silly set..until Patch showed up and proved it was indeed a job to loose that pipe..appreciated that..and that silly prisoner of torture tray of food..what was that pockmarked brown thing anyway?..Peter Reckell your bread and butter was made and manufactured at the DOOL factory..you decided to toast it..so long..farewell..ah…

If they do bring Bo back I hope it is not as a ghost or Hope’s imagination . If he is not coming back as a live person that had been replaced by a Bo look a like just don’t come back. This whole storyline was a huge disappointment for long time fans.

It kind of sucks that the characters of Billie and Chelsea weren’t on hand for this. Chelsea is his daughter too.

I love Peter Reckell, but knowing how Bo died, him returning would cheapen the genre. I dont mind people that go over cliffs, or no body is found, but watching someone die from a Brain Tumor, Im not gonna spend disbelief for that. It makes Daytime soaps a joke. Its sorta of interesting that soaps of the 50’s. 60’s, or 70’s rarely used the Back from the Dead plot device. It was used a few times, but not to the extreme as it is now.

PR made a big deal about the audience that was affected by Bo’s death – because of revisiting scenes from 20, 25, 30 years ago. Hello… Will Horton was a character for 20 years. New and old fans were attached to him. Will was connected to more people in Salem than Bo was. Yet, he didn’t get to say good-bye to anyone. He was barely on screen. So what if Bo didn’t get to have a whole boatload of good-byes for another week. PR and his fans have nothing legit to complain about. He got 100x better exit than Will did. I wish Bo & PR never returned. Just because he was screwed over by not having a storyline when he left didn’t mean Aiden had to be screwed over. Want some resolution? Have Steve find all the answers when finding out he died years ago. Want Bo to help Hope move on? Not necessary. She already did. – Just an opinion from a fan who’s watched on and off for 25 years.

I totally agree..Will’s death was shocking because he was murdered – not because he did anything wrong but because Ben Weston turned on him in an attempt to frame Chad for the crime because he was jealous of Abigail’ s relationship with Chad. There was no reason for Will to die (& for Guy WilSon to be let go). But Peter Reckell wanted to say goodbye to the character of Beau and give closure to the Beau/Hope relationship. He was not “killed” or “murdered” but instead he died of a brain tumor that had gone undetected until the last minute. It was a respectful death, unlike Will’s. People were able to say goodbye to the character of Beau. Will never got that chance to say goodbye to anyone because Ben took that away from him.

Peter’s thoughts on his exit both here and in SOD were so open and honest. I could feel every word he said. His final scenes were so emotional. That’s what I miss on Days…no one quite does it like Bo/Peter. His exit has left a huge void in the hearts of many. His scenes with Steve and Kayla were delivered with such feeling…you knew that this went beyond just a story…these were real feelings that PR SN & MBE were having. I wish that PR onscreen time with KA was longer. I felt that there scenes together, although amazing, were rushed. All in all Kleenex brand tissues loved me that last week of Bo’s return. I bawled my eyes out! LOL To answer your question…Do you hope the writers try to bring bo back again? As long as it’s PR….YES YES YES…I am hoping!

Well said!

Of course bringing bo back would be great. Peter Reckell come back as recurring if thats what it takes. Have him return with explanation of what happened, who really died. Brady pub, legal travels for Victor jobs that he could do. Still give him time to have some BOPE time. I always pictured him and Hope as the Tom and Alice of the future. Have them sailing off into the sunset on the “Fancy Face III” Would love for PR our beloved BO BRADY to return. WITHOUT BO BRADY/PR DAYS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

I would love to see Peter Reckell return he was the original Bo Brady and played that role awesomely. Kristian Alfonso and Peter always worked so well together and always had fun you don’t see many actors and actresses that have the chemistry like Bo and Hope do! It was wrong to kill Bo off that quick. Always loved them in the 80’s and will always like them to this day! They made DAYS OF OUR LIVES exciting! Replacing him with Robert was the biggest mistake Days did hated him playing Bo that guy didn’t fit into Bo like Reckell did that Kelly guy sucked and I stopped watching Days. Bo was gutsy and Peter always played Bo to a tee what he should be! The first and only original Bo Peter always nailed the acting to what that character is. I will miss him lots. Hope and Bo should’ve grown old together like Alice and Tom did! They will always be my favorites always and forever. I watch the old clips of them and these characters like all the others should be reconized how the fans respond to them! Days will never be the same without Peter Reckell as Bo Brady.

Yes I totally agree and what a wonderful interview! Bo deserved a better storyline when he left years ago and I don’t fault him for asking for one. He had a powerful character for many years…..and yes he and hope should be the tom alice to finish out the shows for the next 20 years at least ys keep the younger characters as they bring in the age demographics interest however for those of us in our 50-60’s we too have many years left to watch and that is where the numbers will stay steady if you quit killing of veteran characters…..
bope needs to be brought together again……..jack and jen are ok as a renwal but bo and hope well that is a must…….Say no to Nashville and yes to LA again Peter hopefully will return…….

I absolutely love the character of Bo Brady. He has always been my favorite soap character and Bo and Hope have always been my favorite soap couple. His death broke my heart and it could have been handled better. The storyline did not provide enough time to truly say goodbye to Hope and to other characters like his kids, Victor and his mom. They should have spent less time in prison and getting back to Hope and more time being with Hope and friends and family. The ending was rushed. I’m sure I am not the only fan that feels cheated. Having said that, the actual show where he died that was dedicated to Bo with all the flashbacks was well done and incredibly sad. Made me miss Bo and Hope even more.

Tatiana I too feel that the story line was handled wrong. We were all robbed/cheated. IF Bo Brady/Peter Reckell did have their final act he deserved so much more. He was there since 1983. Gave them the rebel turned hero. And was half of Daytime’s all time Famous Supercouple of all time BO & HOPE. In my opinion they gave DAYS a lot of dedicated viewers over the years. Killing him off just doesn’t seem right.
Ready for BO BRADY/PETER RECKELL to come back alive to give the continued great acting and the love story to go on. When he is ready we will take him no matter how much of him we can get.

@K c

Ken Corday said that all those killed off would never come back to live. Their deaths will be permanent. Which means that Bo Brady will not return unless it is as a ghost. Also Peter Reckell has said that he is done after 30 years. Peter is going to concentrate on raising his daughter. Not killing off Bo would not have been fair to either Hope or Kristin Alfonso.

And I love Peter Reckell. He is gorgeous!

I am so grateful Days brought Peter & Bo back. His return and Bo’s death was brilliantly done. I wish it had lasted a couple week’s longer but Days truly honored Bo as a character. The story was enhanced by the long histories between Bo & Peter’s relationships with MBE,SN,Peggy and their characters.

Nice interview. Thanks for sharing. I truly respect PR for his reasons for leaving 3 years ago and coming back in 2015. He made a home elsewhere far from LA and is actively enjoying his life as a husband and father. As he lives in Nashville maybe he can appear on ABC’s Nashville.

I felt there was more time wasted in captivity than quality time with family in Salem for Bo. Clearly a writing issue. I wish he had married Hope at the pub even with the headache and told Hope of his impending death with their family in attendance. He still could have died as he did in the park.

OF COURSE BRINGING BO BACK WOULD BE THE GREATEST THING EVER. PETER RECKELL OF COURSE. HE COULD COME BACK RECURRING WORKING IN THE BRADY PUB OR DOING “LEGAL” TRAVELLING JOBS FOR VICTOR. BUT STILL HAVE SOME BOPE TIME. COMING BACK TO REVEAL WHAT REALLY HAPPENED/WHO WAS IT THAT CAME BACK/WHO REALLY DIED. DAYS OF OUR LIVES NOT YHE SAME WITH BO BRADY GONE. ALWAYS THOUGHT OF BO AND HOPE AS THE TOM AND ALICE OF THE FUTURE. AFTER ALL WITHOUT ALICE WOULD THEY HAVE REALLY MADE IT. I ALWAYS PICTURED THEM SAILING OFF INTO THE SUNSET ON “FANCY FACE III”.

@K c

All great ideas! However, Peter Reckell made it clear that he was coming back to Days only for a few weeks no longer. Long enough to give closure. Days did try to get Peter to agree to stay longer but got no where. He lives in Oregon and had no intention of commuting back and forth to LA. And Kristin Alfonso has just signed a new three year deal with Days. She wouldn’t have signed if she didn’t like what the writers have planned for Hope’s future.

I thought he lives in Nashville?

I completely agree. I just feel the whole storyline was not up to par. That everyone was robbed. Would have loved for Bo and Hope to have more time together. And for Bo to have more time with his family. Too much time spent on the capture and rescue. Should have been more time spent on Bo with the family and dealing with the tumor. Having him spend Thanksgiving together would have been great. Everyone going around to recall memories of their precious time with Bo. Having Bo remember times with them. Having Bo tell everyone just what they meant to him. Thanking each of them for what they were in his life. Of course Hope being a mess. Having Bo and Hope to renew vows at the pub on Thanksgiving would have been heartbreaking but true to their love. Dying in the park may have meant more. Definitely a tearjerker of an episode but it would have seemed much more final to me. After all he was on there off and on since 1983. He deserved so much more than he got. All we got on screen was his burial didn’t even get a funeral.

Here’s a cliff hanger of all , Yes Bo died or they made us believe in the arms of his Fancy Face Hope but he had passed out before , We don’t really know if he went into a semi coma because with the Glioplastoma it is possible I know because that tumor hit home & made it more tear jerking for me , is it possible he wasn’t they did put the sheet over his head but they didn’t check , & yes they did carry the casket to the burial sight but was Bo Brady in it , Peter you are a outstanding actor & your Fans would love to see you reappear w Hope after all the magic of Christmas is miracles & felt with the heart , Please please please come home to DOOL A FAN FOREVER OF BO & Hope as I was when I started watching we all grew up with the super duo couple ,,,,, #BoHopeforever

bo is dead – let him stay dead – there is absolutely no need to bring that character back –
peter said he only watched the episode when bo died in hopes arms only because his wife’s song was played during the episode…………….sorry but that statement right there speaks volumes about how much he cared about being back on the show………..jmo

wow. You sure missed the point. Lots of actors are uncomfortable watching themselves. But he so respects his wife’s work, he made himself watch. Implying it was anything negative about the show or his costars is just so off the mark.

saying that i missed the point & my comment is just so off the mark is rude and condescending because everybody is entitled to their own interpretation/opinion of what was written here & that was mine – that is why i ended my comment with “jmo”

Thank you for reminding me that I have a 51 year old elm tree which needs to be chopped down. It’s root system has a mind of it’s own!

well start chopping then……………….and have a wonderful day!!

Another terrific interview with Peter Reckell. If I could, I would thank him for what I consider to have been the best Daytime scene in 2015, which was the Steve/Bo scene in the park when Steve knows he’s dying. I felt more in that scene, and in the ones with PR and MBE before that, than I did watching any of the other soaps where it was advertised as a “don’t miss” episode. Sometimes the best scenes are the ones that surprise you., where real affection comes through our TV screens.

As for Bo staying dead, I never thought that DOOL would bring Bo back alive for a long period of time, but what I wish would happen is for Bo to return, alive, whenever DOOL is going off the air so he and Hope can have a happily ever after, right before DOOL fades to black for the last time. The fact that Ken Corday and PR are on good terms and PR knows how much his character means to the fans makes me hopeful that we might see that after all. I have hope (no pun intended) that Bope will be together again one day, and that’s good enough for me.

I do hope for that too. I would love for Bo Brady/PR to return alive. Sooner than later. I know interviews make it sound like later. But some twitter post make me feel a bit of both. Would love for him to be able to come back alive. Pleading his case. Prove he is him in the flesh. Fight to win Hope over. Make her fall in love with him again. After all she still does. But romance her, wine her, and dine her all over again. Bring their chemistry back again. Remind all of us just why we fell in love with them to begin with. Have the final Christmas be with them being the Tom and Alice bringing the Bradys and Hortons together. Then of course their final scene being them hopping on to the “Fancy Face III” and sailing off into the sunset. That is what they both love so much. For them both to finally have their HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

Great interview. Thanks. Peter is a class act. I hope he gets an EMMY. He really deserves it….as does KA, MBE and SN.

I hope one day Peter Reckell (BO Brady) Will come back to Days Of Our Lives.
He is a great actor..and I think he could work as much or as little as he would like.
he is a super star.and would a plus for Days..I would like too see BO and Hope as the super couple that they have always been.but if to much time has past.BO is great on is on. and we would love to have him any way we can have him!

I agree Sue. Peter Reckell’s BO BRADY is great. Him and Kristian Alfonso’s Hope are amazing to watch. They have given DAYS a great story for us fans to watch and fall in love with. What we all need today in this world. Peter when you’re ready to come back, no matter how much or little of you we get, we will take you back. Give us the rest of the BOPE story.

I didn’t want Bo to die. I think Peter Reckell did an excellent job. I have watched Days from the beginning. Bo and Hope are my favorite couple. Bo is my favorite character, and he can only be played by Peter Reckell in my eyes. I miss him and wish he could come back. I understand about him wanting to be a hands on Dad. That’s admirable, but if he ever wants to come back, then I would be thrilled.Ut broke my heart for Bo to die. By the way, I share a birthday with Peter.

I am saddened that killing him happened. Totally crushed. Days never be the same without BO BRADY/PETER RECKELL.
Great guy. Lucky family.
Hope Peter can find a way to have the best of both worlds. When he’s ready to come back we will welcome him with open arms.

Please come back and be Bo Brady

You are a class act and I hope you come back, your amazing and we just don’t want to let you go tearssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Its where you belong and I hoped you would feel that when you returned and I think you did.

I agree. You are an amazing actor. Performance is always believable. Always bring so much to the show. Pleasure to watch you on the show. Makes our hour in fantasy world so much of a better place. Not the same without you. Hope to see you soon. Love you PETER.

Sonia. I agree with you.

I loved the return of Peter Reckell/Bo from start to finish and the service was nice!

Congrats to DAYS for it’s increase in the newest ratings and for becoming #2 in the most important demos!!

I loved the character of Bo and grew older with him and I certainly didn’t want him to die. He is the only Bo (Perter) and no one could ever replaced him. I didn’t like the other guy and was so happy when Peter returned. My heart broke when he died. Yes, I would love to see him come back some day soon.

I agree with you. My heart still breaks when I think about Bo being gone. Just not the same without him. Please come back soon PETER.

Peter, I enjoyed reading this interview you gave. I do hope you will come back to Days some day soon. You were one of the best actors on the show. Really the show seems empty without you. I have always loved the way you work with Kristian and also Steve Nichols. In the meantime, enjoy your life with your wife and daughter. Much happiness to you always, Anita

I agree with you completely. Days just isn’t the same without Bo/PR. Can only hope that PR has a change of heart. Give us all the hero that we all love. Bo and Hope are the heart of the show. Can’t wait for his return to make Days what it used to be. Great job PETER RECKELL.

I will make this short and sweet. There is no better actor in daytime than Peter Reckell. He has …. and always will be … my FAVORITE ! I’m so sad that he has left, but I wish him much happiness with his family in Nashville. Maybe some day ( if we are so lucky ) he may decide to come back. He can never be replaced. Love ya Pete. I’m Outta Here !!

I completely agree. I think him coming back would give their ratings a boost. Bo and Hope are a true love story. Make some believe in love and romance. Please come back Peter Reckell.

I wish u had not of left DOOL,the show isn’t worth watching without Bo & Hope

I hope they do bring Bo back! I grew up watching Bo and Hope, they can bring him back to life, after all how many times has Stefano died and Bo character is like a Phenonix also, Peter I so hope they bring you back I already miss you!

Most definitely Bo Brady needs to return please I started watching days again when all this had happen it was tears after tears to see Bo & Hope torn apart really , I could not believe what I was seeing , Bo & Hope forever , it could of played out so many ways , I understand the Glioplastoma brain tumor that certain tumor hit home , w treatment can give the quality of life , he should of been off screen to be put in a hospital for a cure , I’ve been watching days ,, since hope was born her mom died @ birth , so yes it’s upsetting how you split u a magical super duo couple like Bo & Hope , they should of had Bo , Hope, Patch , Kayla off to find out who did this & make them pay the adventures of Bo & Hope , Patch & Kay along with there undying love has brought many viewers back to days ,, we all know Victor has money to bring Bo intensive treatment , we know taping is 4-6 months in advance the magic of Christmas is miracles , it would be perfect if Bo could return the ratings would be back up , I miss Bo working with Hope , there a team , as far as putting Hope with Rafe not going to work he was involved with Sami which is Bo niece & more Rafe age , We as fans are heartbroken Peter Reckell has left , We understand the concept of not wanting to raise his child in LA , But I’m sure they can come up with away to schedule Peter Reckell back taping & spend time with his family as well many actors & actresses do it all the time ,,,, Please Bring Him home , it was sad that he couldn’t spend Thanksgiving to show all the thanks he had in his on screen life , How about a miracle for Christmas , , Bo Brady would not want his family hanging on to him getting a cure , or pity , in case there was no cure because we all know what brain tumor could possible do especially a Glioplastoma, So here’s a cliff hanger we all know That we seen a casket being carried , but not one person can say that Bo Brady was in it ? So if the writers , producers , directors & cast can make this happen you will have a lot of Bo & Hope fans back on the scene of the sands of time , Peter we miss you & it’s only been a couple of weeks of your untimely death ,,, a true fan of Bo Brady , Hope Brady , Stephen Nichols, & the rest of the adventures of love & adventures now let’s find out who did this & make them pay the Brady way of Bo & Hope , XOXO

U 2 made DOOL I just wish Peter had of stayed, I understand about him wanting to spend time with his girl. …so good luck,DOOL rating will drop….

U and Peter made DOOL worth watching, now it’s not, Ken Corday messed up killing Peter off. And now if he does come back they will have Hope with someone else and that’s gets old.nobody moves on that fast the way Bo & Hope love was.

Peter Reckell is a very class act, dedicated, perfectionist, gives heart & soul for the audience. Yes bring him back the show W/ him had more family warmth to it, Bo just makes you fill loved. When an actor can bring all the emotions out of you & you forget all of your pain in life just for that minute you are in a wonderful peaceful place. That is Peter Reckell for me. He makes you fill passion, love, kindness, anger, forgiveness, the hurt the lets U cry away your hurt. and all the emotions that come out of you. Honey that is an amazing actor. He deserves that EMMY & has been looked over too many years. This very short time back has been amazing just to watch him ACT loved it(all) watching him is supervise .He is a caring man, husband & father. There is only 1 Bo Brady / Peter Reckell. Steve, Mary Beth, Peggy U could fill there love for Bo/ Peter. I was very disappointed in the funereal they did not show years past with Hope, Mom, Sisters, Bro. or our hero. there wasn’t anyone telling how they loved him. The only one I felt emotion from was Steve. At the Pub they look like dummies standing around. The writers spent to much time in prison not at home that was upsetting. But it was wonderful to see Peter act. Best wishes to Peter, Kelly & loden

It seems the funeral and buriel are combined in many productions. A minor thing. I have an issue with odd happenings that in reality wouldn’t happen. Abby wearing the sleaveless top and it is snowing outside. Ben saying it wasn’t easy to bury Wendy as the ground was hard. Duh buriel in winter is delayed until the ground thaws.

I would love to see Peter Reckell come back to Day’s But i do understand that he wants to spend time with His Child, what a great Dad he is, i have watched Bo & Hope ever since the beginning & there couldn’t be a better Couple,Gosh i remember when he went off the show years ago & they brought the new Bo in..it was’nt the same..there is always a way to get someone back from the Dead, Just the same way they made an imposter of Rafe…But Peter Reckell i wish you & your family all the best & take care of that little one..those little Angels needs their Parents…Good Luck in whatever u Decide!!!!

They must have paid him buckets of money back in te day. It takes lots of $ to riaise kids these days- it must be nice nor to have to worry about paying any bills while retiring down in Nashville.

Would it kill him to mention Kristian? I mean seriously. If the follow-up question had not been asked, he would have completely blown over her existence. I was half expecting him to add a touching comment about how much he’ll miss the baby who plays Tate, because why not. It screams caddy. Please stay dead, Bo.

I think Ken Corday and writers really screwed up 3 yrs ago by not giving Peter Reckell(Bo) more of a storyline to keep him there, just like he said! THAT falls on the writers AND Ken Corday! Can’t he see how the rating shot up BECAUSE Peter Reckell(Bo) came back? In soaps, never say never and bringing him back is doable and YES can be done! There are lots of ppl who have young children and there are ways to work around the children’s schedules. I sure hope all these comments are forwarded to Ken Corday. There aren’t many soaps left so if you want this one to endure, BRING PETER RECKELL BACK!!! The one and ONLY TRUE BO!

I would always welcome Bo back if Peter Reckell wanted to return on a permanent basis. No one is truly dead on a soap, so anything is possible. There is no one else but Peter that could play Bo Brady, so whenever he’s ready to return, I’m there! Bo and Hope are forever.

Having Bo come back would be no different that Steve coming back or Roman coming back both died onscreen before and returned. I would be perfectly happy with Bo returning if they would give him a decent storyline with Hope the way it used to be. I have been invested in this couple for 32 years, from day one and although there were times I would have liked to slap Bo over the head, I love them together and neither character has been used to full potential separate. Its sucks that Days didn’t give Peter decent material for Bo three years ago and we wouldn’t have to be discussing this. I would be perfectly fine with it being set up for Bo to have take something to mimic death so that Steve could arrange for him to be sent somewhere for treatment to try and cure his tumor. This would be in total bo fashion, handling things himself and not wanting Hope to get hurt any worse by having to watch him die slowly. I would love to have my Bo back home where he belongs, hopefully Days will get a clue and make it happen.

Leave Bo dead and have him come back at times as a ghost to help Hope with revenge on the people that hurt Bo. Bring back the other cast that r missing and never seen for awhile. And some new cast couldn’t hurt.

simple bring bo back as a twin that was kidnapped at birth that nither parent knew about .I’VE WATCHED THIS SOAP SINCE I WAS IN HIGHSCHOOL AND MISS PETER AND HIS REMNISHION OF BO . SO PLEASE GIVE A THOUGHT TO MY IDEA . I THINK EVEN PETER MIGHT GO FOR IT . THANK YOU SO SO MUCH.

No come back please please please please please please please please please please please

I meant bo please come back I hate this auto correct

I can see by most of the messages left here that Peter is loved and already missed. I do hope he returns. Time will tell. He sure doesn’t look his age of 60. Wow! Anita

What! He is 60?..,rafe looks to young for hope..Bo must return

I’m really going to be keeping a keen eye on just how this plays out…

Rafe; does in fact, look younger than Hope.

TPTB killed off Bo… for storyline purposes… and thereby giving KA’ Hope.. an out.. and an easier … if you will… path; to the “pairing” of; Rafe and Hope

i’m just not seeing it….

yeah… they work so well together… an eye out for each other… and a caring of your partner… and co-worker

is?

Hope “extra” long look
Hope “extra” longer hug
Hope caress… of touch

REALLY?

will RAFE ( ? ) MAN UP

be an equal… and not kowtow/ pussy whipped… Ladies… excuse that… but it has to be said… he doesn’t exactly vocalize from the get go…

watching them steam up the sheets is one thing… but… really? they will have to work together…. go home together… all the time ?

yeah…. Hope and Bo did… but their is a vast difference…

oye! i’m still smarting from the firing of Daniel Cosgrove… and how the writers death knell was so sudden ; there’s clearly no magic for either Rafe and HOpe with nuCiara

as i’ve posted… I truly think the writers … could have taken that week… to see … Bo, Hope, Shawn Douglas… and Ciara “living” a normal life… just to see and know… from a fan standpoint.. that all is right with the world… and lessened the angst and disgruntle this really did cause

Hope goes vigilante and exacts revenge…. ??? Bo is dead…

with all due respect

Kristian Alfonso is going to be relied on heavily… along with Billy Flynn… and Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols… to carry much of the show(s)

I really appreciate Deb W post above… that alot of the blame… and he should be shouldering alot of the mishap mayhem and misguided behind the scenes… of how DAYS is turning

I’m going to call my share …

undaunted

Thank you Michael for another wonderful interview with Peter.
I love Bo as much as the next person and I love PR too — dead needs to be dead. Peter Reckell has a new life in TN and it’s obvious he wants to enjoy that life. Like he said, this gave him a little stint for a bit and he got to close out Bo. Fans don’t want Bo around for a month, they want him back for good. Let BO stay gone and let Hope move on for good. She finally has a chance with a good leading man in Galen and I’d like to see where that goes …. Kristian was in limbo for like 2-3 years after PR left the first time so I’m glad Hope has closure from Bo, the audience has closure from Bo, he died a hero and we can all move on …. Bo & Hope will forever remain in our hearts 🙂

Oh my gosp..I loved the interview..thank you

Oh I would love to see peter come back in the future ad bo
. Oh please have him return… help him return yet be able to be with his family also… please please…so many of us DOOL fans want to see him return..

Maybe Peter could come back to Days and work out of TN. Wouldn’t this be possible for him? I also agree that Rafe looks too young for Hope.

Bo, we miss you. Bo and Hope represent love that is forever and it is nice to imagine it is possible in a world where even starting out that way so often turns ugly. Your the brother we wish we had, the lover we wish we had, the friend. Like Steve, no one can replace you. We can say ok, Rafe is a good guy for hope, but that love won’t be young love or love that stands the test of time. Rafe does deserve to have that bond with someone. He is a good guy. It is so easy to talk about these characters as if they are real to us even though they age in a day sometimes, we grow to feel you are our family and we get to be a part of your lifes. We want to jump in there and whack your captives too that when you finally did, we too felt the triumph or the moment you were going home. It was too short, and frankly I believe we are all going through the steps of loss and grieving with you. Not exactly sure how healthy that is, but I guess that means you are good actors. We go from rooting for Ben to wanting to knock him out with the lamp next to the bed. We can’t wait for Monday and sad when Friday is over. You can imagine how disappointed we are at holidays when some sports event comes on. Yeah I am hooked. I have watched Days on and off, mostly on since I was a kid. You are family. We grew up and old together. I hope you return. I wish you the best.

I respect Peter`s decision, but my heart is broke. Bo is such an amazing actor .Bo and Hope for many years were a super couple. He was gone for three years, came back for two weeks, then died. I just can`t get my mind wrapped around it. He`s gone. Please come back Bo.,Fancyface needs you. You belong together.

What a great interview! Peter Reckell ‘s portrayal as Bo Brady I hope will be remembered as one of the best characters ever on television. When Anthony Geary left his iconic role as Luke Spencer, there was tons of press, which was understandable because of the legacy he left. Peter also left his mark on daytime television. As a young man growing up, I wanted to be Bo Brady and put on a leather jacket and ride a.motorcycle and always come to the rescue. I have always enjoyed Peter ‘s scenes with Stephen Nichols, another amazing actor, whether they were at odds with each other or on the same team, their scenes were so entertaining to watch. Peter’s chemistry with Kristian Alfonso always gave me goosebumps, especially during those final scenes. R.I.P. Bo Brady, you will be missed.

As a fan for over forty years, I have being impressed with this soap. The actors are amazing and did their parts with enthusiasm. Bo and Hope are the ones that left a mark in my life, remembering what all they’ve been through in this soaps. It just reflects on true relationships, with all its ups and downs. These two cast members to me really played their part well, as if they were meant to be together in real life. They seemed to have the knock for each other. I don’t think Days of our lives will be the same now, since Bo has now exited the show. Kudos to you Bo and Hope!! Job well done!! Will continue to watch the show anyway, hoping that Bo will return one day!!

I enjoyed the interview BUT, I want Bo to come back to Days…..It is NOT going to be the same without him. We love you Peter! Please come back!!!!

I will forever lv bo brady.peter reckell will forever be the one and only bo brady.peter gave us so much adventures smiles tears.he will always be in my heart.i thank him for the 32yrs he gave us.being a dad is the most important thing in the world and his true fans understand family comes 1st.he will truely be missed but will live in our hearts forever.

There’s no doubt about it, definitely bring Bo back!! Especially since Patch is back now as well. With Bo and Patch together a lot of amazing scripts could be written! Please Peter come back as a living Bo. Your audience is in their prime (50’s like me} and would love to see you working again with a lot of the cast from the 80’s. You are too young to retire, please take advantage of having your former cast mates available to work with and COME BACK PLEASE!!

DOOL will never be quite the same without Bo, and we have all hoped for his return but alas, life just happens. I for one look forward to some other projects PR might do – he is such a gifted actor (our “Daytime Brad Pitt” ) and could hopefully find time to do some specials or something of that nature. I hope to see him staying active in the entertainment industry. I will say too, if I personally have been given a choice for either PR or KA to leave the show I would have selected KA..

It would be so easy to bring Bo back. At anytime when PR wants to come back, Hope/Patch would realize Bo’s body was secretly exhumed and Stefano/Andre has it. At Bo’s party, Andre paid off a waiter to slip a drug in Bo’s drink to simulate death so he and Stefano could kidnap Bo and cure his tumor with one of their mad genius doctors. They do this so they can use Bo as a bargaining chip with Victor. Bo’s life in exchange for full rights to Victor’s drug. It’s really that easy!

Also hoping that Hope will be pregnant. We can have another who’s the baby daddy drama with Hope agonizing that it could be Aiden’s psycho offspring. Then, of course, we find out it’s Bo’s and all rejoice at this miracle baby. Bo’s super sperm does it again!–lol And it’s a boy and they name him Bo Steven Brady, of course!–a little clone of his father that Godfather Patch watches over to keep him out of trouble.

Anytime Days wants to hire me as a consulting writer, I’m on board!–lol. I actually am an agented writer, so seriously, Mr. Corday, give me a call!!!

Why did they have to kill Bo! Why couldn’t they have gotten Robert Kelker-Kelly to come back. Or chosen another actor.

I would like to see his final image (in Hope’s mind) after she finds the person responsible for his death to be that of an angel (not in black) walking toward the light with their son Zack. I think this would give Hope the comfort she needs.

that was not the way such an iconic character should have left
This is just my opinions but this man’s heart is so broken I would have liked to have seen that man the holidays together as a family about where the fans would be so heartbroken through the holidays
I know it’s just a soap but that storyline saved my life he gave me a reason to believe in me while I look for a real hero in my life
I will probably never get to meet any of those actors but I feel like I know them inside and out the ultimate gift in life would be to meet and spend some time letting them know what they meant to me
I will always root for bo2 come back and I hold his head to face one more time hopefully she’s pregnant and she have her a baby to remember just how much he loves his fancy face
Upset from Biloxi Mississippi the stars never come this way but we love them so

Days of our Lives Star, Greg Vaughan, Gives Health Update and Thanks Everyone for Their Support

Greg Vaughan (Eric, Days of our Lives, ex-Lucky, GH, and ex-Diego, Y&R) provided an update on his health on Sunday, March 17th. Vaughan had previously shared that he had become ill during a trip with his sons to Colorado, and had developed altitude sickness when he was having trouble breathing accompanied by terrible headaches and landed in the urgent care.

Now on St. Patrick’s Day, Greg took to his Instagram and shared how he is feeling now, and to thank everyone for their love and support.  As it turned out, Vaughan was diagnosed with high altitude pulmonary edema, commonly known as HAPE. However, he is on the mend slowly and surely.

In his new video post, the DAYS favorite started by expressing, “I just felt such an appreciation and gratitude for everything. . reaching out. Your prayers have been felt. It’s been a struggle, but I’m over the top. And, taking this moment just to say I didn’t realize the things that I was going through. My (original) post was simply just to educate, put some information out there and some things that I was feeling, just share that information and the struggle that I was going through, which I didn’t quite understand. And it wasn’t because I’m stubborn or just because I’m a father, a man, and didn’t want to go to a doctor. It is just something I thought was so minor that I could overcome it, just by taking care of myself.”

The Daytime Emmy winner then revealed his actual diagnosis, “So, basically my situation was high altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE). With some good friends, doctors that had reached out to me, it kind of gave me some understanding on the aftermath, which was very, very beneficial.”

“But I’ve been resting, taking care of myself even though I live in a hamster wheel,” said the dad of three teenaged boys. “I gotta get up and, you know, do my normal domesticated stuff, eventually. I’m tired of laying down in this bed, but, I am feeling much better.”

Photo: GVaughanIG

Talking on his confusion of trying to understand what could have been ailing him, Vaughan expressed, “I couldn’t quite figure it out, even though I was emphasizing and professing to my children going on our spring break getaway about hydration. I professed it. But, even though I was acting on it, it had a greater effect on me, and for which I did not even think, because my head was such in pain, and I was in a very bad state of mind – not being able to be out there with my kids on the mountain, enjoying their time, as well. I thought I was doing the right thing. Unfortunately, my lungs were full of fluids and my head was in severe pain and even migraine pills didn’t even help. So, I just want anybody that goes into the Colorado Mountains to know, it is no joke. It is this very serious thing which I guess is why they call it the Mile High City.”

Greg had a mountain of ‘thank you’s’ to give for the outreach he received from his original post, “For everybody internationally, wherever you are, I love you and I appreciate you and just the time and the thoughts that you’ve shared with me,” said Vaughan. “I didn’t realize that it would make such an impression on so many people around the world. I feel tremendously loved and I can’t say it enough. I’m good. And I appreciate you.”

Photo: GVaughanIG

The actor concluded his video with, “To all the family and friends that have reached out to me, man, it means the world. So take care of yourself, enjoy your spring break with your families. It’s Saint Patty’s Day, obviously. I wish I could be out there.” Vaughan added, “I feel loved and touched and I can’t emphasize that enough. I’ll take better care of myself, promise you will do the same.” Before he signed off, Greg shared, “Just know, that I’m alive and well and breathing, and I’m sore. So, be well, take care. I mean it. Thank you, tremendously.”

Glad to know that Greg has been on the mend, and shared his appreciation for everyone that reached out to him during this trying time? Comment below.

Scott Evans, host of Access Hollywood and the Peacock reality series Couple to Throuple, will make a guest appearance this week on Days of our Lives.

Circle the Thursday, March 21st episode of DAYS for Evans’ arrival in Salem. During his tape date last fall (since DAYS tapes months well ahead of when episodes actually stream), Scott posed for a snap alongside Mary Beth Evans (Kayla), Jackée Harry (Paulina), James Reynolds (Abe) and Greg Rikaart (Leo).

Teasers for the 3/21 episode of DAYS share that Leo tries to come up with his next gossip column, and Paulina and Abe return home to a mini-celebration set up by Johnny and Steve. Will Evans pop up in one of those scenarios? Stay tuned.

For a long time, soap opera fans knew only of one Scott Evans. The one who played Oliver Fish on One Life to Live from 2008-2010.  But in show business, there are two Scott Evans’ that are widely-known.

Last Thursday, March 12th at the 35th annual GLAAD Media Awards, it found both Scott Evans and Scott Evans together in the green room and they taped this video ditty below, calling out how they both share the same name.

Days of our Lives Star Greg Vaughan Shares Sudden Health Scare: “I Truly Feel Like I Work & Live in a Soap Opera!”

What started out as an adventure with his sons, quickly turned into a nightmare for Days of our Lives Daytime Emmy winner, Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady).

In a series of Instagram posts, Vaughan shared the sudden health crisis he found himself in.  The images show Greg with an oxygen tank to help him breathe.

The actor began to fill people, sharing, “I’ve said more than a few times, I truly feel like I work & live in a Soap Opera! 🤪 this trip was nothing short of another great Vaughan adventure!”

He went on to say that on a father and son Colorado spring break trip, he began to feel shortness of breath, feeling tired and with a headache and after two days of hoping he would feel better, Vaughan finally went to an Urgent Care to get checked out.

Photo: GVaughanIG

“I finally surrendered & went to urgent care and to my shock I learned that I was experiencing severe altitude sickness.” Vaughan admitted. “My Blood Oxygen was at 54% & my lungs were full of fluids! Blood oxygen, also known as oxygen saturation, represents the percentage of hemoglobin in your red blood cells that is carrying oxygen. Most people have an oxygen level of 95-100%….”

Providing more detail to his health scare, Greg shared, “Well, 4hrs later, a couple of bags of IV & oxygen tank strapped to my face, I was told that I needed to immediately get off the mountain! However I couldn’t, we still had another day to go & wanting the boys to enjoy their last day on the hill tops! I opted to go home with an oxygen tank, a good laugh for everyone, and I know will follow, but my boys looked after their old man & fortunately they had friends on this trip!”

Photo: JPI

The experience of altitude sickness in the Colorado Rockies gave Vaughan a bit of a new perspective, “In all seriousness, no matter your age, and all the times I’ve ⛷️ & 🏂 in my lifetime, Colorado Rockies is no joke! As they say, ‘ take a breathe and smell the roses!’ That is truly something we need to remember & appreciate! #recover”

Share your well-wishes to Greg as he continues to be on the mend via the comment section below.
