Big news out of Genoa City this morning!  Three-time Daytime Emmy winner, Jennifer Landon (Ex-Gwen, As the World Turns) has been cast as the new version of Heather Stevens on The Young and the Restless!

Landon, the daughter of television legend, Michael Landon, replaces Eden Riegel in the role.  And according to TV Guide, Heather will return on air in June 7th and Landon will begin filming her scenes at CBS tomorrow!  Of course, Landon marks the third actress to play the daughter of Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). The first gal in the role was Vail Bloom.

Heather was last seen fleeing from Genoa City after her reputation and career were left in ruin, after her brother, Ricky took some very damaging photos of her with Adam Newman!

So soapers, what do you think of the casting of Landon in the role of Heather Stevens? Let us know!

Don’t know what to think of this until I see her in action!

I think it’s great. She is a very talented actress & I loved her as Gwen on As The World Turns.

I’ve watched Landon back when she was on As the World Turns so I know she is capable actress. But in all honesty, I wish they would have Vail Bloom return to the role. Vail was the perfect blend of fire and ice. I understand they fired her to take the character in a different direction (and so they could hire yet another high-profile daytime actor. But ever since Vail has left, the writing for Heather has been horrendous. She went from being such a strong woman to basically becoming another Sharon Newman. It’s pathetic.

I’m willing to give Jennifer Landon a chance but something has to be done wih the way the character is written.

I pray Jennifer Landon’s talents are used to their fullest, in a better way than her costar Maura West and character predcessor Eden Riegel were. It is a joy to have Landon return to the daytime arena. I loved her as Gwen on AS THE WORLD TURNS.

Why do we even need the charaqcter back? Hather has been a waste from day one. We dont get enough of the characters we want. Get rid or Ricky and Daisy and Phyllis annoying sister and dont recast a character that never really caught on!

Hope she’s better than Eden.

I wish they could/would just get Vail Bloom back. As David Larsson said, “perfect blend of fire and ice.” I liked Eden Riegel … on AMC, but hated her as Heather.

I have heard of Jennifer Landon and just MAYBE I saw a little of her on a preview for ATWT or something, but never saw her when I actually watched ATWT. Therefore I cannot say until I see her work. However, I just have a nagging feeling this recast will not work either. I guess I agree that Heather is not really needed. There are enough characters. Paul doesn’t get enough screen time anyway. Doug and Tricia Cast are great together and hopefully the upcoming returns of Christine and Danny will include Paul too.

Oh forgot to mention. His scenes with his sister Patty are always amazing!

Landon is a fine actress. However, I would be FAR happier if Vail Bloom was returning to the part.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jennifer Landon! I think she’ll be a great Heather & she looks more the part than Vail or especially Eden did. I just hope they give her something really good to play. She was super on ATWT.

wow jennifer landon as heather what a surprise. i loved jennifer as gwen on as the world turns. she is a great actress. i hope the writers give her a good storyline. welcome back to daytime jennifer landon.

She was good on ATWT I guess we’ll see how versatile she is as an actor.

Jennifer Landon impressed me so much on ATWT. She isn’t your typical soap actress, but she has enough talent to fill two actresses. Unfortunately, I don’t think this will be such a great role for her; the structure of the character IMO just isn’t one that can be successful over an extensive period of time. Who knows, maybe she’ll give Heather the legs to give her longevity but I really think this was a miss in the casting department. Jennifer Landon, yes. But as Heather? No.

What was wrong with Vail Bloom?

She left because she had other job offers so I don’t think she’s interested in returning.

If the writing sucks, why would it matter?

Loved her on ATWT but with the mess of a writing staff currently at Y&R I can only imagine what they will write for her. I wish her luck and look forward to seeing her back on daytime. Maura West is an amazing talent but this team does not know what to do with talented actors other than throw them away. SAD but TRUE!!!!!

Amen! They totally messed up with the nuKyle. He is way too old. If they’re going to age Kyle, make him a teenager and then you have teenage angst coupled with hate for Nikki and dealing with his father’s mistakes (Gen, Patty) and his paralysis and I think you have more story than where they are now. Granted minor Kyle couldn’t live with Victor, but he could still look to Victor as a mentor, which would cause more agro to Jack. Just a few of my thoughts on one of the million Y&R storylines. Frankly, I think Y&R needs to get rid of actors, not hire more, despite how credentialed they may be.

Oh, I agree, Mo! Only my point of contention with the new Kyle is that Blake Hood looks too much like Michael Muhney (Adam). From the hair style to the facial expressions, right down to the military style shirt he had on the other day. It is all too much. He is really doing a great job, but it is confusing. It is almost like he is the new Adam, not Kyle.

I agree, they aged him TOO much. The young actor that played Kyle could have played some more angst and it would have been just fine. They are always in such a hurry to age these kids. I don’t get it.

I think Carmine has potential with Abby, though. 🙂

I think they should leave the character OUT and take her brother Ricky AND the new Kyle!!! What a JOKE!! They could have at least made him a believable teenager!! He looks 30 something!!! IT SUCKS!!!

I wonder if bringing Heather back means she will go into business with Michael now that Victor has tossed him to the curb and it looks like Avery is taking the job (as of Tuesday).

So she won three emmys why I don’t know and therefore let’s bring her on as Heather when was the last time Paul was on. Please just because you won an emmy does not make you work in another role. Debi Morgan, Genie Francis are proof of that NO chemistry with anyone! That creepy Ricky, Kyle grew in three months MAB is CERTIFIABLE!!! The Bell’s arrogance is off the charts fire the woman if you don’t have the guts I will fly out there and do it!

Jennifer Landon is a great choice!
