Desperate Housewives Wrap Party Photo Gallery – Why were Hatcher & Cross MIA?

Over the past weekend, the stars of Desperate Housewives called it, “A Wrap!” After eight seasons the soapy nighttime series, which will airs its final episode on ABC on Sunday, May 13th, bids farewell. To mark the occasion, the sexy stars of the series gathered for their official wrap party at the W Hotel in Hollywood.

As many of the series regulars and recurring stars stopped by including: Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman, Brenda Strong, Vanessa Williams, Doug Savant,  Mike Denton, Kevin Rahm and Tuc Watkins, conspicuously missing were two of the leading women of Wisteria Lane!  Yup both, Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross were no shows!  But why?  It did seem odd that the gals did not make an appearance since they were two of the main “faces” of the series since the beginning.  Several sources reported online that calls to their reps about it offered no comment or information.

As for series star Eva Longoria, she will still be Housewives’ involved as she is one of the co-producers on Desperate Housewives creator, Marc Cherry’s new upcoming primetime soap, Devious Maids, which will also co-star soap icon, Susan Lucci.  Eva told The Hollywood Reporter on wearing her upcoming producing hat, “I’m a control freak. I’d much rather have more participation in the outcome of the product than as an actor. As an actor, you get in front of the camera and say your lines and hope the part comes out well. As a producer, you really get to control that.”

Now after the jump, check out our photo gallery from the Desperate Housewives wrap party and let us know which character from Wisteria Lane, you will miss the most?

It’s sad that after 8 years of working together Hatcher and Cross didn’t show out of respect for their colleagues. Maybe they were worn out and sad about the show ending. I don’t know. I stopped caring about and watching DH years ago. DH will live on in reruns, unlike daytime soaps.

Most of these actresses are NOT friends off the set and when its done, its done!

I use to watch this show ,then one afternoon there was news crossing the internet abc decided to cancel all my children and One life to live ,that was the last of this show that I watched missed the whole last season.I dont believe these women get along Ive heard a lot of stories of there dislike for each other so teri hatcher and marcia cross not showing up for a wrap party and photo shoot does not surprise me.The other cast members have to be happy they get to hog up all the pictures that will be taken. If I have to make a choice of which house wife I like the best It would be bree ,I like the way she took care of things ,her house, her business, her men, I don’t know about this season but she did ok by me,yes, bree was my favorite. As far as my favorite guy, It would be without a doubt Tuc Watkins.

LOVED Desperate Housewives. The one “soap” I could get my husband to watch with me. We will miss it. Hope “Devious Maids” doesn’t end up on ABC. I’m really looking forward to it, but I boycott all things ABC & Disney except GH & SOAPNet.
