Lady Mary turns thief? That is the word this week from Variety.com that Downton Abbey’s series star Michelle Dockery will follow-up her on-screen life as part of a priviledged 1920’s family in England with playing a just out of the slammer ex-con!

Dockery is set to play Letty Dobesh on a new TV project based novels by author Blake Crouch, who also penned the “Wayward Pines” book trilogy.  The series will tell the story of Dobesh, a thief and a con artist fresh out of prison whose life is always one wrong turn and bad decision from implosions — just how she likes it.  However, when she overhears a hitman being hired to kill a man’s wife, she sets out to derail the job, launching her on a collision course with the killer, entangling them in a dangerous and seductive relationship.

The project’s pilot entitled Good Behavior for TNT will be from Wayward Pines creator Chad Hodge, and reunites Crouch and Houch who will serve as executive producers of the Dockery lead pilot.

As ‘Downton’ fans know, the series will airs its final sixth season in the winter of 2016 here in the U.S, while fans across the pond will get to see the series this fall.

What do you think of Michelle Dockery’s follow-up TV role to Downtown Abbey?  Comment below!

I have no doubt that Michelle Dockery will play this modern-day femme fatale to the hilt and with great aplomb to boot, although I have to say that, for me, I’ll always favor her in period pieces. She has that stunning porcelain, English Rose look and wears the retro fashions so glamorously well….I was truly hoping to see her do a follow-up in another Julian Fellowes project. Whilst I’m quite sure she is eager to spread her acting wings and try roles far departed from “Lady Mary,” she was just so fine as the haughty, aristocratic heroine that I will forever long to see her reprise her appearance in that vintage milieu.
