FIRST LOOK: Trent Dawson As GH’s Huxley!

Courtesy/ABC

Circle June 13th for the debut of As the World Turns alum Trent Dawson when he makes his highly-anticipated GH debut in the role of Huxley!

In this first look photo released by ABC from the June 20th episode of the daytime drama series, Huxley is looking rather spiffy, but talking on the phone to someone! Wonder who it is?

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest (on newsstands now) Dawson says of his new soap opera alter-ego: “Huxley is a heightened character and very British – that’s the way I’m playing him so far and no one’s told me to stop”

As viewers know Dawson’s role is said to be short term, but that was the same thing that happened to the actor when he came on board to play Henry Coleman on ATWT, The actor commented: “Henry was supposed to be on for a few weeks and he went on for years, so you never know.”

What do you think of the first look of Dawson as GH’s Huxley? Do you hope fans will enjoy Huxley so much that we could be seeing Trent for a long time to come in Port Charles?  What storyline do you think Huxley will be involved in? Comment below!

He was so much fun on ATWT. Great to have him back on tv

Henry and Trent were tremendous fun on ATWT!

Why are all the characters “short term”? And why don’t they build on the “core” of actors we know and love instead of bringing on a slew of “short term”? We know the core actors and wish for them to get substantial story lines (think Genie Francis!).

Because sometimes to advance stories you need other people. It’s as simple as that. The character serves a purpose and then they are gone. I have no idea what his role will be, but no matter how big GH’s case is, sometimes you need other people to complete a storyline. Hypothetically, if this story requires a British Jewel Thief who will work with Hayden to try to sell some of the diamonds, who currently on the canvas could play that role? Again, I’m making up what his story is, but the point is that outside characters are not only necessary, but help make the world that the soap characters live in a touch more believable.

I mostly agree with you Nancy, but AJ also makes a good point regarding subsidiary characters who come on TEMPORARILY to assist in individual stories. Sometimes they make such a good impression they’re kept on. That appeals to my favoring the idea of earning a role versus just having it handed to you because you are a familiar face. But my initial argument that existing characters being underused on GH still stands.

Sorry for repeating myself here, But….

Coronation Street has twice the number of characters of any of the final four. And it’s thirty minutes. It keeps everything moving.

You can’t blame new characters for why Favorite Character A doesn’t get enough screen time. On GH Sonny and Carly do the same scene (I’m worried about Morgan) three times on Monday, three times on Tuesday and three more times on Thursday.

My point is that all four shows don’t move anything along, not within on day or one week.

Watch Coronation Street. They keep it moving. It’s a big canvas of characters. Our final four feature one two-character scene after another. Corrie balances two-character scenes with big ensemble scenes all the time.

It can be done. Everybody works, everything moves forward. Corrie would never have Jason wandering around for a year going who am I?

Ray Berlin’s henchman/informant/liaison?? Mrs. Berlin’s companion heralding her arrival?
An investigator summoned by Dr. O to look into the strange developments at GH?
Gosh, my head is spinning…..all these new characters!

Head spinning…well, if you start spewing pea soup call the Exorcist-lol…later my friend!!!

Oh, my, Jimmy!!! Is that what it was???? I felt kind of sick this morning. In retrospect, I think it was green….HaHHa!!! I love your use of words, Jimmmy. Always welcomed…always enjoy it!!

Hope he works with Maura West(Ava)!!!

“…when he came on board to play Henry Coleman on ATWT, The actor commented: “Henry was supposed to be on for a few weeks and he went on for years, so you never know.” ”

Trent Dawson is the definition of Dynamic and layer upon layer of intrigue

He’s SO sexy

Wow, he is a wonderful actor, I loved Henry on As The World Turns. Welcome back to Daytime Trent.

General Hospital need to sign Trent Dawson, to a contract. He is a terrific actor.

Looking forward in seeing Dawson on GH. He will be great. I love his acting. Now we need to recast Audry Hardy with Erika Slezak. Erika would be terrific as the new Audry.

I need to know; will Huxley be a bad guy or a good guy?
GH desperately needs a real bonafide villain ..

(like.. Ray Gardner or Billy Clyde Tuggle)
dammmit, I wanna love to hate someone that can raise my blood pressure !

I so agree..GH needs that villain so bad.

Dr O. is just not doing it!! Franco character has been basically a snorefest..And Heather (who is great) just pops up once a year… Queen Cassadine is “dead” and all the mob bosses are not really bonafide villains.

I want to scream at my screen and love to hate that evil bastard or bitch, 🙂

Grandma Heather Webber and her Iced Tea. Reigning Champ.

More Heather, please!

They’re trying to make it Nik and Hayden. And failing….

I think it has something to do with Nik…

I so hope his role has NOTHING to do with the mob! Pleeeeaaasseeee

Really excited to see Trent on GH. He was a fan favorite and a great actor on ATWT.

i want him to have a story with Lucy just so we have a big reason for Lucy Coe to stay but my guess is that he will be wrapped in story with another character.

Is Huxley Spinelli’s dad?

I hope so. That would be a hoot to see Bradford and Trent ham it up!

So many characters to keep track of.

I think everyone on the planet should get a sl on GH.

Lmao!

Welcome Back To Daytime TV, Trent. Yay! 😀 😀

Well, GH no longer has a mob.
There are 2 men, Julian and Sonny that seem to be feuding and nothing more.
So, he will not be involved in an invisible mob.
He will be involved with Hayden and her father .

Why do you write such nonsense Suoo?
Sonny is still an active Kingpin and everyone knows it.

True, Harry, true. But, I think what su means is that because we do not see much ‘shooting action’, the mob is non-existent. However, Sonny continues to slither hither and yon between one crime or other.
As I also suggested above, I agree with su that there is a great chance Huxley works for/with the Berlins.

The mob still rules GH. Sonny has been threatening Julian ,Ava. Him and his moll want to have steal the kids .By hook or by crook. When people say scummy is a mumbling midget mobster ,they have the rest of the show running around with guns.
They have destroyed Anna she shot Carlos in cold blood numerous times over the mobster who put a hit out on the new police commissioner.Jason has his memory back how long before he starts shooting again.
We have the mob, and screwey characters like heather, Francos. we have a women who cut the baby out of a pregnant women, now runs a magazine .
Sonny and carley are two of the most disgusting characters on a soap. to each his own.
Trent Dawson got an my last nerve on World and that was one soap I never missed. This is just my opinion. We all have them.

Yeah! Yeah! Any ATWT Actor who finds works in soaps today is a major bonus by me!!!!!

I’ll take over bloated casts for $2000.

Couldn’t stand him on ATWTs, so who cares ?

Turns out a lot of people care and are happy he’s joining the show. He is supremely talented and everyone else knows it.

Why is GH creating a cheap knock off of Robert Scorpio instead of giving viewers the original? I mean SERIOUSLY this guy looks EXACTLY like Robert sitting in Luke’s apartment in 1981. He’s even got the same suit & hair. Let me guess, he’ll be the agent assigned to investigate Joss’s mystery kidneys?

🙂

Cannot wait to see Trent back on daytime! How quickly he won our hearts on ATWT & hope it happens again on GH. I would love to see him work with Maura who needs a story!

Maura has a story. She is an evil mother. Sonny and Carly said so, after all, they are the saints who love their children , and everyone elses. Maybe not joss for Carly hasn’t mentioned her in a while doesn’t seem to care where they got the kidney, much to busy trying to steal Avery .

Word!
