Galen Gering Previews DAYS 50th Secret Cast Member: "I Saw Someone In The Hall & Went 'Whoa'!" Kristian Alfonso Adds: "I Wish We Could Tell You Because We're Bursting!"

Last week at the NBC TCA Summer Press Tour, Days of our Lives stars, Galen Gering (Rafe), Kristian Alfonso (Hope) and Stephen Nichols (Steve) interviewed with the press.
During a video interview with Android TV, this very popular DAYS trio bantered about the series upcoming 50th anniversary, the writing, and the big returns slated.
Gering shared: “Right now as we go into our 50th, everything is peaking. As actors, you love when the writing you have for your character reflects who you think your character is and, at times, that’s now always the case. It is now.”
However, the interview got a bit juicy when the trio was speaking about all of the big returns such as Peter Reckell (Bo), Tamara Braun (Av) and Martha Madison (Belle) for starters. They were also asked if anyone new was coming, and while they related there are now several new younger generation actors, Gering teased: “I saw someone in the hall, as I was saying the other day, and went ‘Whoa’!” To which Nichols added: “We can’t say who it is!” Kristian Alfonso then shared her excitement on the person: “We can’t say. I wish we could, because we are bursting to tell you!”
So who could it be that Galen, Kristian, and Stephen are keeping tight-lipped about? Do you think it’s someone from the past? Could it be a big name actor joining the show in a new role? Since DAYS tapes six months ahead, this person most likely wouldn’t be on the NBC soap till sometime next year! Now that would be a welcomed sight to have Chandler Massey return. But I don’t think that will happen. I think he wanted to go to college in real life.

I actually had a thought today watching August 17 episode, someone was watching Hope and Aiden, could it be Bo? My one-minute thought was…could Bo be the killer?

I continue to love hearing the praise that the new regime with Josh Griffith and Dena Higley have infused back into the Days of Our Lives area. As for the person they’re bursting to say, I can only imagine who it is. My only hope is that it is not Matthew Ashford (Jack), his time has come and gone on multiple occasions, plus, he’s far from being the best Jack the series has had. I kind of hope it’s a Horton that’s come back.

The clue is that this person is a daytime Emmy winner from a P&G soap and starred on one of The Prospect Park dramas.
Jack Deveraux is NOT in Hell. And while I’m sure that Alice Horton would have baked several dozen donuts to lobby my Former Employer to let him into Heaven, my contacts “upstairs” tell me that Jack isn’t up there either. So expect him back eventually, mortals.
Admittedly though, Duke & Harper were disappointed that their son never joined them down here. Maybe when Jack is back in Salem, I’ll let those two go up to Earth for the occasional visit, like I used to do back in the 1990s.
Or I could always possess Marlena again. That was kinda fun…..
I do not want Francois or Frankie Brady back in the show again he such hypocrite and loser if he goes back to Jennifer again I mean she has not thought about him at all since she reunited with Jack in 2006. Frankie hope he moved on to someone else but if he wants to lapdog for her then he welcome to it and let Jack come back devious and hot and new women for him and let Jennifer play jealous ex-wife.

51st Daytime Emmys: Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Nominations
On Thursday, the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards revealed nominations in several key categories via four entertainment news programs: Access Hollywood, E! News, Extra and Access Hollywood.
Three of the four announcements were major categories in the field of Daytime Dramas.
The nominees in the Outstanding Daytime Drama Series category are: The Bay, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, Neighbours and The Young and the Restless.

General Hospital won this category last year, and has the most all-time wins for a series in this category. For the first time, the beloved Australian-based soap opera, Neighbours is now eligible for competition due to its reboot which streams on Amazon Freevee.

The 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be handed out in ceremonies in Los Angeles and broadcast live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ on Friday night, June 7th.
Previous categories announced tonight via the entertainment news outlet included: Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

51st Daytime Emmys: Eric Braeden, Scott Clifton, Thorsten Kaye, John McCook and Eric Martsolf Score Lead Actor Nominations
Ahead of the full list of 51st annual Daytime Emmy Award Nominations to be revealed tomorrow on Friday, April 19th, Extra’s Melvin Roberts unveiled the nominations in the highly-coveted Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor.
Going for gold are Eric Braeden (Victor, The Young and the Restless), Scott Clifton (Liam, The Bold and the Beautiful), John McCook (Eric, The Bold and the Beautiful), Thorsten Kaye (Ridge, The Bold and the Beautiful) and Eric Martsolf (Brady, Days of our Lives).
All five of the nominees are previous Daytime Emmy winners, with Eric Martsolf the only won in the group to have won his previous Emmy for work in the Supporting Actor category.

B&B could make it three years in a row as the reigning champs in the actor race, having won in 2022 with John McCook and 2023 with Thorsten Kaye.
In addition, as previously announced, the Michael Fairman Channel will play host to its 10th annual Daytime Emmy Nominations special featuring several of the nominees for the 51st annual Daytime Emmys which happens live tomorrow Friday, April 19th beginning at 8 pm ET/5pm PT.

DAYS Alum Tanner Stine to Appear in ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’ Starring Nicholas Chavez
Another face familiar to daytime fans has already boarded Ryan Murphy’s limited series, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story which stars General Hospital favorite, Nicholas Chavez (Spencer Cassadine) in the role of Lyle.
Tanner Stine who played Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) son, Joey Johnson on Days of our Lives will also appear in the series.
In ‘Monsters’, look for Stine to portray the role of Perry Berman, who was Lyle and Erik’s friend and former tennis coach. In the story, Perry found himself at the epicenter of the murder mystery when he had accepted a phone call from Lyle shortly before the brutal murders of Jose and Kitty Menendez.

Other previously announced castings included: Cooper Koch (who plays Erik), Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny as parents Jose and Kitty Menendez, Nathan Lane as Dominick Dunne, Ari Graynor as Leslie Abramson, and Leslie Grossman as Judalon Smyth.

In the series, the two wealthy brothers stand trial for shooting their parents in Beverly Hills, amid claims of self-defense after years of abuse, while prosecutors alleged that greed was the motives for the killing. Lyle and Erik Menendez have been behind bars in California for more than three decades for the 1989 killing of their parents.
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will debut later in 2024 on Netflix.
