GENERAL HOSPITAL: Alexis Botches Her Testimony, Felix Says Goodbye To Sabrina!

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

On Friday’s episode of General Hospital, it looks like even more skullduggery was pulled by DA Paul Horsnby (Richard Burgi), who’s heinous acts are stockpiling up in short order!

It was time for Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) testimony against her husband Julian Jerome (William deVry) to send him to prison for good for his crimes.  While Alexis had been jittery, and had one glass of wine before she took the stand in the key to the case against the treacherous mob boss, something was clearly amiss.  As question after question DA Horsnby posed to his witness seemed to confuse her, Alexis flashedback in a fog to key moments from: the wiretapping, to Julian dragging her to the pier to kill her, and his confession to murdering Carlos Rivera, and ordering the hit on Duke Lavery, etc.

While Alexis stammered through, the judge and others in the courtroom seemed to think Alexis was under the influence.  When they took a short recess for Alexis to gather herself, Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) was beside herself thinking Alexis was deliberately trying to throw the trial to free her husband.  Alexis doesn’t know what is happening to her.  When she retakes the stand, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) brings up the past when Alexis ran down a teenager and left him to die as well as stabbing Alcazar.  Alexis continues to be dazed.   Sam (Kelly Monaco) leaps up in the courtroom and declares that Julian did try to kill her mom.  The judge calls for order and the lawyers finish their questioning with Paul leaving Alexis hanging by a thread.  Alexis steps off the stands and collapses into Julian’s arms.  Paul is smug! His plan seems to have worked! Let’s not forget that water in a styrofoam cup, Alexis was sipping out of before she took the stand! Obviously, something was in it.  Paul had to make sure that Alexis’ testimony would go awry, so the trial would be thrown, and Ava (Maura West) could not turn Paul in as the hospital killer!

Meanwhile, as everyone learns of the death of Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) at the hospital, and after Michael (Chad Duell) finally says his last goodbyes to Sabrina, it is her bff’s Felix’s (Marc Anthony Samuel) turn to have a moment with her, before she is carted away for an autopsy. And in that moment, Marc Anthony Samuel broke many viewers hearts as Felix breaks down.  The capper, the heartfelt Sabrina/Felix montage, which featured moments between the best friends as Felix thinks back to their friendship over the last four years.

So, what did you think of Alexis’ botched testimony?  Will Julian go free?  How will Paul be caught for his crimes? Did Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) statement about the cologne, or after shave of a guest in the Quartermaine that she smelled while being attacked be the key to Paul’s undoing? What did you think of Felix’s goodbye to his bestie, Sabrina? Weigh-in via the comment section below!

Sobrina is murdered and her body is kept in that room for all to mourn her..thats a crime scene and no one would be allowed near it and her body would be taken to the morgue…who would want to work and be a patient at this hospital as these attacks and murders continue…why arent more police and security guards in the halls looking out for the killer and for protecting staff and patients…no one wonders why Paul is around when all this stuff happens or is someone else also involved and helping him???

hi Jimh.
J&S, they struggle with writing details..
They struggle with writing, actually their writing is a mess, a mess .

Jim, leaving Sabs on the Slab for people to mourn her is GH’s cheap way of not having a funeral for her!

Yeah. That’s a shame. If killing her in such a haphazard and cruel way wasn’t enough….they could have, at least, honored her in death.

The baby who plays Teddy is so beautiful. Something up, up, there in the fake sky held his attention. He seemed mesmerized. His wide, bright eyes kept going up there. Soooo cute!!!! Such a squish-able, little face.

Makes zero sense why Paul would ever need to hang out at GH. That should definitely raise a brow.

Hey, Ces,
Absolutely. So strange….even if the hospital itself is being ‘guarded’ and its staff investigated, Paul does not belong there. The police’s presence is normal, but the DA’s? As you say, it should raise a brow…great observation, Ces; as usual. But, TPTB do not follow any ‘rules’….as we have witnessed, they make stuff up as we go along. ….such as, pinning Paul with the murders. I will not believe for one minute that this had been originally laid-out..

Out of context: Why is Claudette still around? Am I the only one who is not interested in what is going on with this character? What trouble she’s in? Why her name has been erased from the internet?
So what is her secret? Please not another baby: she had a baby and is not sure who the Daddy is? Nathan’s on Griffin’s? Or, she is either running from the cops or hiding from criminals linked to Sonny. LOL, Ces, somehow Sonny will seal Claudette’s fate. Would not surprise me in the least. Later.

No, Celia. You’re not the only one who sees Claudette as being rather pointless.
And yes, why is no one questioning why ole Big Head Hornsby is always lurking around the hospital?
I may not have cared for Sobrina (good one, Jim!) but she was a fan favorite and I do question how wise it was for her to be killed off in such a cold and brutal way.

CeeCee…I’m not sure but I think the baby is Teresa’s actual baby. I think he was already on; too lazy yo look it up at the moment. Either way he IS adorable! Hated Nell imposing herself on Michael…

Hello Celia –
Oh, the GH writers are most definitely making this story up as they go along. So first, Paul was with the mob (?), kills Kyle (so at least we know he has IT in him) then, he was a good guy for a minute (?), they try to make him a love interest for Anna (?), and now he’s a Hospital Killer? Doesn’t jive! I’m sure a missed a few beats in there but then so did the writers. Glad to see they got a pay raise & a longer contract.
Is Claudette even on the show? I thought all three were gone? Oh wait, that’s that overstuffed cast issue again and lack of continuity. The less I see of these three, the less I care. I wish they’d move KS storms out of this stupid mess and put Nathan, Claudette & boring Griffin out of their misery.

I can see this trial affecting alot of viewers one of two ways: the first is they’ll really be angered, disgusted, and threaten to never to watch again–but keep watching to continue to see how the travesty plays out, and the second is, they’ll threaten to never watch again–and make good on the promise–never to return. I know I’m in the first group, but, I would much prefer, going forward, for the show to find its moral center. Too often in the last few years, evil has been ignored and overlooked on the show. To me, that’s not entertaining at all. I want to see the characters who do bad things pay, and pay heavily if they do wrong. I thought the acting was very good on Friday’s show, but even for a soap, these latest twists were over the top.

I’m someone who is in your second group. I stopped watching about a year and a half ago after years of disappointment during the Ron years. I actually had stopped watching for a good decade before he started writing the show after too many serial killers and mobsters as star of the show.

Moral center? GH hasn’t had a moral center since Lila Quartermaine died (and it had been absent from the show long before that as well)

Sabrina could have been the moral center…she was that good a person.

I agree that Lila was the moral center, but would Sabrina have been a good replacement as the moral center? I’m not so sure. The writers made a bad choice with her getting pregnant by Carlos, so, I think they sort of decimated the character with that. In a roundabout way, it might have been kinder to kill the character off. Most actors and actresses think the role of a long-suffering character who does not stray from their morals is boring, but the late Emily MacLaughlin as Jessie is proof that with good acting and good material, that is not the case.

I am in the second group as well. I stopped watching – for good at this point – after the news of FV ousting YET ANOTHER vet in the way of Tyler Christopher. And, the timing seemed perfect to me as I am appalled at the lack of cohesive writing around Julexis. First Julian starts going off the rails, then the fan complaints come in so Julian has to escape answering for his crimes (really???? Like there is any romance at all in the possibility of them reconciling? Just repugnant!) And of course to further muck up the story, they make Paul the serial killer. Just beyond pathetic and lame. So for me, Tyler’s loss was/is the last straw. And the fact that the show is just going off in all sorts of ridiculous directions….. while the new leading men of Franco and Finn assume all the screen time, just makes it really easy to move on.

Lila Quartermaine and Sabrina were decades apart in years…and times have changed. When I mentioned Sabrina as the “moral center” I just meant that like Lila, she was completely good. From the time she appeared on the canvas she reignited the Nurses Ball, championing the cause for HIV research, took Emma under her wing even after she was dumped by Patrick, handled her rejection without seeking revenge as so many soap characters do and even when she DID seek revenge she felt remorse and was humbled…

As for her sleeping with Carlos she loved him once, was vulnerable, he loved her…doesn’t tarnish her image or goodness in my opinion. Making love, being human, doesn’t negate morality.

I don’t think anyone can replace the adorable Lila Q…she was just such an iconic figure of warmth, welcome and gentility. But Sabrina, like Emily, was also part of the “moral” center of the show…except the center was unfortunately pushed to the side.

I am very sad Sabrina has been let go. I enjoyed Felix memories of their friendship. I wish they would have sacrificed Valerie as she is far from as likeable as Sabrina. Alexis is obviously impaired by whatever was in the cup Paul handed her. Monica recalling the cologne should be key in Paul’s arrest. Hopefully we find out what’s up with Paul’s daughter Susan. One would think Dillon would know??? It’s also disappointing that Prince Nikolas quit. I adore Spencer and his relationship with “father”. And now Morgan too. I would rather see Kristina leave.

Great post, Gertsie- I wanted to write a few things down and then realized you had already wrote it, and much more eloquently than I could.

I wish there actors great luck in the future!

Worst decision by GH to kill Sabrina. Michael and Sabrina were so beautiful together. Sabrina was always a character to root for and love. She brought beauty, elegance and kindness back to a soap that has lost its moral compass. If you are going to do a goodbye montage how about including Patrick, Emma, Michael, Tracy and Felix moments. Such a poor send off.

No reason to really watch anymore. Still grieving the loss of OLTL, especially John and Natalie, Blair and Todd, Nora and Bo and all the Buchanans and Lords. Such a shame. GH doesn’t even come close. Shame on you ABC!

hi Gentry Ashmore..
Everything you said about the Sabrina character was created by RC
All the great flashback scenes of a deep loving friendship of Sabrina & Felix, was created by RC.

Sabrina & Michael (S&S writing) was totally empty, no build up to love.
They never dated, never romantic, I dont recall them kissing etc like a couple in love. They were just thrown together, an empty couple, and then they were going to marry, what the *&^& .. sigh ..

I did not like– Teresa was brought back for a short run to be murdered.

Gentry…Really agree with you about Sabrina. All in all GH and Port Charles are just not happy places to be anymore. Except Sam and Jason’s wedding ceremony. Wonder what’s wrong with being happy and having hope more than just an occasional wedding?

Also just how many killings in a hospital it takes before it’s shut down? You would have thought GH ran out of it’s nine lives…how many killings ago?

Thanks for reminding us of the happier days and couples on OLTL.

Where was Epiphany? It’s a shame she wasn’t there to say a goodbye.

I know!!
Epiphany should have been there, no excuse for such a thoughtless overlook .

J&S are very bad writers.. they can’t keep anything together/connected.
There is no train of thought in their writing ..

Maybe it was her day off…perhaps they’ll have a service…don’t know if they put that in the budget! Probably not. But then again, when ep was the last time we saw Epiphany? Another loss. Not a major character but a fun one!

So right, Lil’ Angel. Not to mention, where was Carlos’ brother, the baby’s only next of kin?

Right on about Epiphany! Dump new Amy and let’s see more of Epiphany. She is a wonderful moral compass for the show.

Other than Michael, Laura, non-mob Jason and Sam, and Molly there is no one left to root for. Too many unethical characters who I just don’t care about. I watched vintage Luke, Robert and Laura last night because GH is so bad.

BRING BACK OLTL!! BEST SOAP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A trial of much importance but no one in the courtroom? Invisible jurors? Isn’t it bad enough that Paul being the GH killer is one of the most idiotic storylines ever? I sure hope that killing off Sabrina leads to a quick ending to this insanity. Please writers, watch the show and listen to the fans.

Invisible jurors is because of budget. They just have to cut where they can…

I thought I saw a couple of “juror-heads” today. LOL.

Lol! I was wondering who Scott was talking too. Saddest court scene ever with no jurors! Bet FV got a raise for the missing folks.

Too funny. Kin Shriner/Scotty was probably wondering why he was talking to himself too. Just goin’ with the flow….

There are always extras at the Metro Court and other eateries…why not use them? Where is Ava? Molly & Christina? Who will read the not guilty verdict?

Hi Nancy H. Even though it detracts from the story paying actors with major characters like Molly, Christina and Ava cost more than I guess the show is willing to pay to just sit there. Today we got to see the backs of a few jurors…guess backs cost less than fronts! LOL. Maybe we’ll get partial views of the aforementioned three when the verdict is read!

Right, Ces?? One would think that Julian is such a visible crime-lord, with a magazine and so many other lucrative goody-bags in his extensively deep coffers.
Also, the fact that Sonny (another super crime lord) was one of the witnesses should have attracted a massive crowd. As NancyH said; use the extras milling around the Metro Court.

lol Rebecca1 – haven’t watched today’s episode (just a few moments away) but glad to see they invested in the *backs* at least! Hilarious!!

I used to love watching to see what the extras do when I was bored in a scene 😉

Celia, have to wonder why the PCPD and Paul (if he were legit) keep telling Sonny police business?? These writers, I swear……
I did have to laugh & I think even Maurice Benard chuckled a bit too on his line @ being in the coffee business.

I guess you saw the backs by now Ces? My latest theory is they get half their pay now, the other half when they face front for the verdict. Hahahahaha…(Like you, I like to watch what (full-bodied) extras in the background scenes do….like to see if they’re in character or seem to think no one “is watching…”)

Rebecca1, lol!!! Yeah, I saw the backs of their heads today. I’m sure GH didn’t think viewers would be so obsessed @ the jurors bobbleheads on this trial of the century storyline!! Maybe they’ll hire some seat fillers for the verdict?!! Woowee

Right, Ces? Why is Sonny front and center ; nose-deep in ploice business?
You know, Ces; i cannot dtomach Sonny, but, I just get this feeling that Maurice has a tremendous sense of humor. And, this ‘ attribute’ does trickle down to Sonny.
I agree. I think Sonny/Maurice knew the ridiculousness of the words he was uttering…’coffee business’, indeed! LOL… ‘Gotta’ love it.
I am still confused as to the reason of Paul’s killing spree. Will we ever find out. I hope it’s wuich, as this borders on the ridiculous. Was Paul’s scope to shut down GH? Is it some kind of revenge against the patriarchs of GH….the Hardys and Quartermaines? I still wonder who was on the phone eith him….his daughter? Was she disfigured, or in a wheelchair, or hurt mentally by these families.
I have no idea what their history is; yet, what else could have brought Paul over the edge?

LOL, MR. Fairman….Yeeessss!!!!!! I knew it had to be the water!!!! Didn’t I say so?? Paul is very familiar with Mickey Finn, yes????

I don’t need to be drugged to act like Alexis…i get that foggy confused way just watching some of these GH stories-lol

C’mon, Jimmy. Let’s get together and write a script. I bet our plot would grab the ‘soap gods’ so fast, they wouldn’t know what hit them. We are the best, Jimmy. Or, we can just invade the set, surreptitiously; a la’ Trojan Horse. Shake on it???? LOL.

awww Jimh & CC..
You don’t like wading through the mess .. lol
GH is like a mind maze, sigh ..
Nothing is connecting or in order, it’s a mess.
Actually; nothing much in the writing is meaningful/has no real purpose..
I have to call it as it is; Junk Writing .

@Rebecca1. I don’t know where you are…..but, did you hear that boom?
I wish you and everyone well!!!! OMG. We’re in The District and we heard it!!! Hope the injured survive. Can’t believe this…..Lord, help us!!

Too much craziness going on in the world…

I’m good…thankfully you and your family are too! Ugh. Spent so much time in that area over the years. Worked at a publication not far from there…not too far from F,I.T. Pipe bomb in New Jersey today too..Not good…

Thank you for checking. Xo

@Rebecca1.
Glad all’s well. I was shaking like a leaf….my gosh. As I said my parents have a place in the Flatiron District….the explotion sounded like it was right there, ouside the window. From what I understand, it was heard across the river, as far as Hoboken.
Another devise was found. Afraid to walk outside…..first New Jersey, now the city.
Hard to sleep.
You too, Rebecca xxoo. When we think about the fragility of life…..these disputes become insignificant. And, I am glad we reached this point. I wish we all could. ‘Nite.

CeeCee…yes; it’s scary and since, unfortunately, the craziness and violence in the world (it’s always been there) reached the United States on Sept. 11 we realize our vulnerability. We as Americans were so used to turning on our TVs and hearing about bombings/casualties around the world but we seemed untouchable…Sept 11th pulled the lid off the pot and unleashed fanatics who seem to multiply like roaches…kill some and there are others behind them ready to invade…

I was on my way to work the morning of 9/11. I wasn’t living in the city…just over the bridge. As I was just about to leave…about to shut off the TV when I saw the towers coming down on my screen. It was beyond surreal…there aren’t words. At that time I was going dancing every weekend…EVERY Friday and Saturday night. After 9/11 I didn’t go dancing for about three weeks…maybe more. Not so much out of fear but out of grief…mourning…for all those lives lost. I didn’t feel the joy…I’d walk through the city and think…that’s what they were doing..just walking through the city, kissing their family goodbye for the day as they went off to work…and just like that…they’re frightened for their lives, making desperate last phone calls, jumping out of buildings. I couldn’t get the visuals out of my mind…or the sense of loss…a feeling like this once vibrant city was like the remnants of a nuclear fallout…

Still, we don’t know if yesterdays’s NY or Jersey attack was actually “terrorism” in that sense. Either way, the knowledge that there are such violent people who devise these things and it’s so random is sickening. But then so is the zika virus, the pesticides they’re using to combat the mosquitoes and the threat of so many other things internal and external in this unpredictable life. And thus…the need for soaps! (see how I tied it back to your site Michael Fairman? 😉 But it is true…escapism…soaps and other media..books…theatre…thankfully there’s beauty and creativity amongst the rubble!

I do agree with your sentiments. Do you remember I used to say during our “discussions” that there are more important things in life…ah well. Human nature is what it is…

Have some green tea and revel in the good times of the cozy, safe moments. Aren’t moments like that great? Always wanted to open a cafe…

Celia, I hope you and yours are recovering from the awful recent events. I’m a New York native (Astoria) and passionate lover & defender of it as well. I heard some news person say that if not terrorist activities, this may have been someone’s idea of fun, like a prank. Seriously? I don’t know which of those scenarios is worse…or more disturbing. Hang in there and keep in touch.

@Soaphound.
Thank you, Soaphound. All’s well, let’s hope for better tomorrows. Later.

i could had been killed yesterday when my father became ill while driving nearly hitting cars and stopping in two lanes…i was nearly struck by a car getting out to direct traffic around us…he recovered and we made it home safely but the stress left me ill today and somewhat depressed…i took my mind off things posting comments here and your reply perked me up-thanks!!!…boy, if i was in charge of GH would i make changes…sets would look more real and i would dump half the cast…the hospital and jail scenes would be more real…the hospital would be switched to the emergency floor…and i would demand a writing team that writes character driven stories utilizing most of the cast as possible with more romance and deal more with true to life everyday issues of different classes and more diversity in cast and behind the scenes…also a little humour thrown in that isnt overly campy…and there would be real ministers performing weddings that go off without predictable moments like those interruptions that happen to often on soaps!!!

But then it wouldn’t be a soap, jimh! Glad you and your father are okay! And yes, posting is as much of an escape as watching soaps. Lol…Lord knows we have drama!

Jimh…Very glad to hear you and your Dad are okay. Even without your experience yesterday, it can be stressful at the best of times to drive anymore. Was listening to national news today where they were interviewing a company called LYFT that offers shared riding transportation, especially for urban centers. The founder’s got the stats that the majority of cars for work destinations only have 1-2 passengers…not very efficent, plus expensive re gas, insurance, upkeep. So their vision was to get excess cars off the road by filling them with passengers, not just 1-2. I had never heard of them, but the company is worth a billion + $’, and in 200+ cities. Even Uber is taking notice of them as competition.

Enough of that. Agree with your other ideas for GH. Just this week I had to go to the hospital for a routine test. Unlike GH, my hospital’s parking lot was filled with others looking to park (expensive) and the emergency had a great deal of action going on. Fortunately I can’t speak about the authenticity of the jail scenes on GH, but I would think it wasn’t Grand Central Station with outsiders dropping in whenever and wherever they want. Also add more adventure to romance.

Jimmy, I did answer you, dear friend. But, I do not see my post. Good to hear you’re ok. Keep safe. Later.

I’ve watched since I was 10..Thirty five years later
and sadly I find my self frustrated when I tune in.
Watching the murder of Sabrina was awful!
Why not Ava(even though MW is brilliant) I despise
That character so much!!! And the whole Alexis
Storyline thumbs down!! Now Tyler Is not returning.ugh
I will say how surprised I am that Billy Miller has
become Jason to me…and I loved Steve Burton until
He left… Thumbs down big time for killing Sabrina

Never should have killed off Sabrina should use this as a set up to catch the killer bring her. Ack she was great and story between her and Michael was good

Well, Chad and Marc really hit it out of the park with yesterday’s performances. I sure wish Felix were a regular character again. Their Sabrina scenes were quite touching. So was the scene with Jason and Monica; I love seeing Billy/Jason in scenes with other people besides Sam. As for the Alexis fiasco, it was predicted weeks ago and yet was still a big letdown. Doesn’t anything stick to the Jerome clan besides hair products?

.
”Alexis Botches Her Testimony”

heh, I saw that coming from 10 miles away..
I was expecting it, no doubt it would happen..

J&S are extremely transparent, never a surprise or shocker, just humdrum.

Sorry not sorry Sabrina was killed off. The character was boring and unrealistic. Yes it’s make believe story telling but at least with some characters on the show you can identify and connect with on a certain level. Alexis is not one of them either, I hope she’s next.

Love bed the montage of Felix and Sabrina. It brought back great memories that the two shared together on screen. They’ll both be missed because now without Sabrina Felix will likely disappear forever.

WHY DID SABRINA HAVE TI DIE YOU COULD ALWAYS HAVE IT THAT THE DOCTOR FOUND HER AND GAVE HER SOMETHING TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE SHE DID AND HAVE HER IN HIDING AND WHEN IT COMES OUT THAT PAUL IS THE KILLER SHE COULD TELL EVERYONE THAT SHE CAUGHT HIM YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD HER DIE

Yes Julian will go free Im sure!

Im just happen they seem to be bringing caring Julian back loved the way he ran to catch her <3 I think they will end up back together

One of the most disgusting episodes. To add insult to injury it airs on the same day the contract renewal for the Soap Slayers gets announced.

Evil always wins on this mess. Shame on me for still wasting my time on it.

hey curacaoman ,, ”Soap Slayers”n ahaa

Jean & Shelly——

Soap Slayers

Queens of Snooze

and ________ ?

Those Nielsen ratings still confuse me! They need to get accurate counts instead of averages. I’m assuming the statisticians know what they’re doing but somehow it doesn’t compute…

your last sentence is ringing

NOW… that FV and Jean and Shelley have been renewed

These 3 have been losing viewers for upwards of a year now

I am thinking it’s time to jump ship

Hello Genoa City… who knows… with Mal Young and Sally Sussman ?

I can’t stand Victor.. and the Newman…. save for Victoria

GH has the far better cast… but… what’s the point in that ? if the writers and EP are not going to steer this cast

i’m going to wait this out.. till Mal and Sally start

Nooooo…Patrick. Don’t jump! We need your GH input…and we need to add viewers, not lose. Yes??? 🙂

hi Rebecca1 ..
We need to ”add” Nielsen rating peoples who like GH … lol
You, Patrick, me are Not counted in the Nielsen ratings only the Nielsen people are counted we are just a wee estimate of what they watch, in the ratings 🙁
The soap ratings are in the hands of the Nielsen households 🙁 not ours.

NO worries….. give it another year and GH’s cast will no longer have anyone from GH!

The Felix / Sabrina flashback montage was beautifully well done and very touching. Marc Anthony Samuel should definitely be given more to do. His reaction to Sabrina’s death was realistic and powerful, whereas Michael seemed to go through the 5 stages of grief in about 2 minutes. I wonder whatever happened to Felix’s sister? The courtroom scenes were OK. The actors always give their all but the writing in this story line is contrived and convoluted. I’m very intrigued by the character of Nelle and impressed by the actress who plays her. The show was pretty good over all this week. Long live GH!

I loved Sabrina and was sorry to see her go. Not to keep repeating myself but I tuned back into the show for the 50th anniversary after a long absence and got hooked on the Sabrina/Brit storyline when they were fighting over Patrick. I loved the friendship she had with Felix, and cried right along with him. I only watch sporadically now. The stories drag on for so long that it’s not that hard to catch up. There are just to many characters and plots to keep up with that I can only handle 2 or three days a week. There are too many new actors I feel that take from what is already there.

Sorry to see Sabrina let go the way she was!

The only reason Felix and Sabrina got a montage is because there was so much good material from Ron Carlivati’s tenure as headwriter. Ron actually SHOWED people interacting in friendships or relationships unlike Jean and Shelly who write everything in shorthand and assume the viewers will fill in the blanks (or just have it happen off-camera). The Michael/Sabrina “romance” was more stated than shown under Jean and Shelly and as a result there weren’t any real scenes between the duo to put together a montage.

Regarding Julian’s trial, is Lucas still on that endless honeymoon of his? You’d think he’d show up for his father’s trial. And even if he didn’t, you’d think a member of the press would. As for Sam standing up and accusing her father of being a murderer, I hope Scotty brings up the fact that she killed Bill Monroe during her con artist days.

And then we have Sabrina’s murder: why is Dante allowing people to traipse in and out of a crime scene? Why isn’t he questioning anyone instead of just standing outside while Michael gives the least impassioned good-bye speech I’ve seen in years? Why hasn’t Dante obtained the hospital security camera footage to look for the killer? Is Valerie still walking her beat on third floor pediatrics? And am I the only one who gets the feeling that the talk of shutting down General Hospital is foreshadowing the show’s inevitable cancellation unless new writers are hired soon…?

While I agree with a lot of what you say and how you say it, I think all of us are too critical about how a hospital should be run, a police station, etc. I feel more picky about how human emotions are handled. People seem to get over loss in hours and barely react to resurrections! But the physical places and the usual procedures…we wouldn’t see a lot of our characters if they didn’t have such access to the hospital and police station. That’s where a lot of events take place so they utilize their poetic license to skip the details. But then again, if it bothers some more than others I understand…we all have different tolerance for suspending our disbelief. Like I said, the lack of human emotion and/or the ability to snap back quickly really goes against me…which is why I didn’t mind Anna’s grief or Nina’s slow progress to reality. To me, those reactions to life’s traumas are more realistic than instant fix.

As for your last question, I was actually going to post a similar thought…I feel like there’s a hidden message to viewers…that unless something changes General Hospital may have to close its doors for good. Doctors, nurses (aka the actors) may have to look for work elsewhere…

Alan and Rebecca, I also felt that there was an ominous foreshadowing of the show being canceled through the impending threat of GH closing its doors for good.
But if someone is trying to send us a message, who is the messenger? The writers? The EP? The network? And does the dark and joyless writing serve as example of self sabotage? I was not a Sabrina fan but she was rather a sunny, benignant type of character and she was killed in a horrific and unsettling manner. I cannot believe anyone enjoyed that scene. The writing right now is reminding me of the writing which was transpiring on AMC right before it was canceled.

I don’t know, Harry. I think I can safely say almost everyone, if not everyone, will disagree with me but I thought the murder as acted out was compelling bECAUSE of its intensity…at the same time I hate that they killed off Sabrina. The horrific nature, Sabrina’s struggle…even Paul’s seeming momentarily shaken by what he’d just done…was powerful, the acting by both very strong. It’s the same reason I gave praise to the Nina and Ava scene where Nina was whacked out crazy and desperate to get the baby. Again, HORRIFIC…BRUTAL…but still the stuff drama is made of. If I wanted to watch all light, all the time I’d watch reruns of I Love Lucy (which I love!) or The Brady Bunch. I’m just saying that there are brilliant films, theatre and yes TV which include gut-wrenching scenes. They’re powerful..they effect us. They’re supposed to.

As usual, different opinions. I personally don’t watch shows about illness. There’s enough to go around in real life…

It was powerful but not enjoyable, I guess.

Felix’s goodbye to his best friend, Sabrina, was heartbreaking to watch, along with the video montage of their friendship. Sad truth is, Marc Anthony Samuel was also probably drawing on real emotion, knowing his airtime as Felix is going to be next to nothing now that Sabrina is off the canvas! We’ve never been privileged to meet his often mentioned boyfriend, Donny. Whenever Felix is featured, it’s usually related to Sabrina.

Yes, Felix’s scenes were beautifully written and acted.

‘Alexis Botches Her Testimony’…OH, GEE…WHAT A SHOCK…NOT!!!!!!!!!! Oh, how I WISH that Alexis was Paul’s next ‘victim’…that’s how clueless, stupid and idiotic Alexis has become!!!!!!!!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Why are you angry at Alexis? paul drugged her…

Rebecca…yes, Paul ‘did drug’ Alexis. I get that. B-u-t…I am BEYOND FED UP with watching Alexis acting like such a whiny, dim-witted and clueless IDIOT!!!!! So, therefore, that’s WHY I said what I said in my post from yesterday.

Have a good one, Rebecca.

Errrrrrr…okay Monsieur jay. 😉 Love Alexis! Don’t see her as anything you described but…we always have our shared love of animals! Later… 🙂

@jaybird369….Clueless, stupid and idiotic….yep, that pretty much covers all the bases when describing Alexis, although whiny and dim-witted also doesn’t go amiss!!!!

Tell you Not so heartbroken over the loss over Sabrina! And the writers made her a martyr – she will be forever remembered as the person who saved one of the most beloved Characters ( and the person who reinstated her job at GH- Monica!! Now if They killed off Monica- that would have been a HUGE Deal! They will give her most likely the best funeral we have seen since 2012! They will most likely name a wing and put her portrait up in the lobby, she got the NB up & going again. When the hospital reopens they will need to raise $$ for the $$ lost for the shut down. Since + no Cassadine cash is coming in. So guess it will be held in Sabrina’s honor and legacy. The show will still rise/set in “Sabrina’s splendor ” long after she is gone. So- For all those who claim the show did the character wrong.. I do not see it at all.. Well, maybe finding DNA off of Sabina to catch the killer might be difficult since Michael was All over Sabrina, crying on her ,Touching her, hugging and kissing! Hope he let Dante know exactly what and how he touched her. Might make things tough. Monica on the smell.. Well- hope when she smells it again.. She keeps it to herself or Paul might try and kill her again! Actually no might about it. And I think he will try it anyway.
As far as Tyler not coming back – that is very Upsetting- 20 years- 1 EMMY! He was suppose to come back in the fall . He said as much at a fan event. Looks like the contract negotiations needed the $$$ for Frank, Jean and Shelly. Who are NOT pleasing fans… Been watching since – well -do not remember A time I did not watch. GH is having a demo in ratings where for 7 weeks they are tying a low! Sounds familiar
Time to make a change! Please hire medical & Storyline consultants!
AB bloodtypes are UNIVERSAL RECIPIENTS… THEY CAN ACCEPT IF POSITIVE +/- ALL TYPES OF BLOOD. A, B, O & AB. IF – ONLY – BLOOD BUT ALL TYPES A, O,B, AB. NOT JUST AB & NOT JUST FAMILY . Basic 9th grade Biology.
Elizabeth has Always been A+ where did you get she had a rare blood type. These rewrites!
And Alexis isnt this stupid either!

This must be a parody/spoof

I hate Alexis being accused of purposely sabatoging her testimony…she’s been the pin-the-tail on the shame-on-you Alexiis piñata for too long. And I still contend, that Julian always has and still does love her. He either went temporarily insane (the writers made him do it! 🙂 or Helena somehow, mystically, mysteriously…poisoned with mind-control knife…messed with his brain!)

The scenes with Sabrina and Felix were beautiful, poignant. Anthony Samuel (Felix) is so real…his acting was so believable as the heartbroken friend…very moving. More Felix please. Chad Duell was also good as the heartbroken would-be husband and the future they lost. Teresa? I don’t know if they crazy-glued her eyes together but she played dead too well! Sooooo believable, so sad to see… Kudos to all for a great job in a tough story.

I cannot stand the way Jordan marches in her designer clothing and high heels in order to admonish Alexis. What police commissioner involves herself so much into a trial by ordering the witnesses and prosecutor around?
Jordan is not at all convincing as a police commissioner. She seems more likely to be working as the floor manager of Forever 21 admonishing store clerks that they didn’t fold the sweaters correctly. I hope Paul Hornsby murders her and Anna takes back her old job.

PS, I agree with Rebecca when she says Felix was emotionally compelling in the goodbye Sabrina scenes.
That was the only part of that story which I enjoyed.
Give this charismatic, handsome and talented actor a front burner story.

LOL Harry…you know we only agree about half the time but I must admit you crack me up.

Harry…You’ve always been so open minded about us ladies, but I wouldn’t have thought you so familiar with Forever 21. 🙂 And while I’d like to see Anna commissioner again…why I’m not sure why because they never have the Port Charles police ever solve anything…please don’t hope for another murder, by Paul or anyone. Not a very nice thing to hope for, especially for my escape and romance (though precious little of it on GH for a long time) in the afternoon.

Here, here, Harry! The Divine Devane deserves reinstatement stat! Let Jordan go to work as a rent-a-cop at the mall….then she can work her way up to that Forever 21 gig! (If your suggested Paul scenario doesn’t pan out first….)

Harry, why are you insulting the fine employees at Forever 21? Jordan is the WORST police commissioner EVER!

I totally agree! I wish they would let a miracle happen a it be a nightmare to Carly showing her what could happen and how her son Michael will hold it against her because of the way she acted when he said he was going to ask Sabrina to marry him. I am going to miss the original Nicholas and the chemistry between him and Spencer

I only started watching when OLTLwent off the air. Doesn’t anyone in Port Charles pay for their crimes I mean any crime , not a good place to live your characters remind me of the Clinton’s money really pays off in Port Charles. Sabrina was a positive role model for Gh a shame she wasn’t valued. Same goes for Nicholas role I loved his role not the replacement I could only listen to him not watch him, he didn’t fit the part visually. To much is left unsaid some how it’s just implyed. I’ve had to go back and see hey did I miss a scene no it was just assumed. Not good writing ,I would guess it won’t be long before there is no longer a GH to bad I regret not having watched it all those first 50 years when my sisters watched it.

I loved the Felix & Sabrina flashbacks.
They were written deep and true, by RC ..
It was so great to see RC’s work, again.

The Felix and Sabrina scenes were very touching…

Wow! Sabrina got a better send off than Luke!

I thought the same thing as I pulled out my barf bag during that nauseating Sabs montage, Timmmster!

I dread the Tracy montage! Rumor has it she is retiring. She is a class act and I will miss her.

I hired Sonny to put a hit out on my TV!

I love GH and am a devoted fan. But, There is not one storyline that is good right now. It was kind of anticlimactic for Sebrina to die, she and Michael have NO chemistry at all. Her role was boring until she got her job back at the hospital. I will not miss her. I just am interested in the DA’s rationale for killing these people.
As for the cast members leaving- Nicholas and Morgan that is disappointing. Morgan is phenomenal right now. My question is Who is Nell really? She is shady!

Hey, Li,
I had established that Nelle was shady from day one. She just rubbed me the wrong way. But, now, I am sort of confused. I don’t get that vibe anymore.
The way she came to Carly’s defense today, gave me pause. Is she really her child? I felt a something between her and Nina, the other day…I don’t know….I feel like a rubber ball, right now…getting tossed hither and yon…LOL. So, I am on the fence now. A very precarious position. LOL.
I agree that Michael and Sabrina were blah together….but, I was really moved. When he cried, I cried with him.
I loved Sabrina. Her death was horrible, I wish the visuals had not been so grossly graphic;….but, on second thought, the scene was impeccably executed by both. I see Rebecca’s point, as it depicted exactly what one expects from a soapy drama.

Li…agree. Morgan is a fantastic character as is Bryan portraying him. Sad to see him go but I hope they recast rather than kill the character off or send him back to the clinic indefinitely.

What a travesty. For obvious reasons, we knew Julian’s trial was going to be a bust and he’ll be set free. But the way it was executed has been very poor. Alexis totally floundering on the stand? Obviously orchestrated by Paul. A typo on the document issued for the wire? Obviously doctored by Paul, unless Jordan is a total moron ans goofed the first time (which, come to think of it, is entirely possible). I figured they were going to have to do some fancy footwork to get Julian out of this situation, but Alexis has spent weeks preparing for this, and to crumble at the last minute is way too convenient writing. Same with the tired “technical error” trope.

I’m also upset that key people in Alexis and Julian’s life like Lucas, Olivia, Kristina and Molly weren’t there. And where did Ava run off to halfway through the trial? You’d think she would stay to witness Paul follow through on his end of the deal.

As for Sabrina’s death, she was never a major enough character for me to really care much for her. I felt like her introduction to the show was weak, and she never really grew on me. I had hoped she and Carlos would run off happily together, and it looks like they’ve done that now in the afterlife.

Also, I’m drawing a blank here, but was a paternity test done on Teddy? If not, the writers might make Michael his father instead of Carlos, so Michael would win the inevitable custody battle that Joe will start. I mean really, there’s already animosity between them, so where else is the show going but there?

The bright side has been the performances by Chad Duell and Marc Antony Samuel. They’ve both been remarkable, it’s just too bad that Felix has been sidelined for so long and we haven’t had many Felix/Sabrina scenes recently. The montage was brilliant though.

Hi Jimmy…

Well, yes, we know it was orchestrated by Paul because Ava is blackmailing him so we, the audience, are already in on his plan to sabatoge the case against Julian. There were only three ways to go…find Julian guilty which would probably result in losing the character/actor, find him guilty but have him escape which would have him on the run and again, we’d lose the character/actor…or find a way to destroy the case and thus keep the character/actor.

From this site alone it seems there are people who want Julian to pay and would be okay, or happy, to lose Julian so I get why this trial isn’t good TV/storytelling for you, them. For me and I think many other viewers (not sure if on this site…just as with Sabrina’s demise sometimes we don’t hear from a lot of viewers until they react to an actor leaving) I’m happy that they found a way to keep Julian/William DeVry. I like both and wouldn’t be a “happy viewer” if “they” were leaving too.

If Sonny, Ava, Rick, Carly, Jason, Franco, Dr. O…LOL…who’d I leave out…were given free passes I’m okay with Julian getting one. Besides, it’ll make for good stories moving forward. (in my opinion.)

I do believe Sabrina had a paternity test but who knows? It’s not like tests haven’t been tampered with before…

Totally agree about Mark and Chad’s performances and yes, more Felix!

Oh! Just re read your first sentence…not sure if I misinterpreted you. You are okay with Julian going free…not just the way it was done? If so…sorry for the misread on that point.

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’

We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.

Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.

Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story.  The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.

The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed.  Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”

No word yet on when The Workout will be released.

So, looking forward to seeing this collaborative effort featuring GH’s Josh Kelly? Comment below.
