GENERAL HOSPITAL: Is Alexis Really Pregnant?

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

“Alexis is pregnant you sonafabitch!”  Those were the choice words uttered by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) when he met up with Julian Jerome (William deVry) at the Metro Court Hotel bar.

Sonny cannot comprehend how Julian could let his pregnant wife stand trial for the murder of Carlos Rivera (Jeffrey Vincent Parise), when Julian was the killer! However, Julian was taken completely off guard by Sonny’s declaration and hearing that Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is pregnant.  Something he did not know!

Meanwhile, Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) has rushed home (well, not exactly …  she called Parker, and then hung out in the park with Aaron) to be with her mother who was out of jail on bail.  When she tells Alexis she can see she is overwrought, Alexis says she’ll prove she is innocent somehow, but then adds that the whole thing is making her physically sick.  Morning sickness, anyone?

And even earlier in the episode, when Sonny came to Alexis’ house and finds Julian there, and after another heated confrontation, Julian makes an exits.  That is when Alexis admits she was trying to get Julian to confess.  But she also admits to Sonny there is something she has to tell him, which leads us into the key scene at the end of the episode.   Let’s also not forget at the beginning of the airshow, Julian considered strangling Alexis while she was taking a bath.

So, is Alexis truly pregnant?  Didn’t she go through menopause in a previous storyline?  Could she and Sonny have concocted this story to out manuever Julian to confess to the murder of Carlos?  Could it be that Alexis is really going to have Julian’s baby, and there will soon be a tiny Julexis baby running around in nine months?  Would an Alexis pregnancy be reminiscent of Reva’s on Guiding Light ? Is Alexis truly pregnant? Could she and Sonny have concocted this story to out manuever Julian to confess to the murder of Carlos?

Is a 55 year old woman pregnant? A woman who was seen going through menopause a few years ago?

And Who would concoct a story that a 55 year old woman is pregnant and think that someone would believe it?

This is ridiculous whether she actually is pregnant or if it was concocted to dupe Julian.

I had forgotten about the menopause storyline, although you can still get pregnant as long as you’re not all the way through menopause. At any rate, Nancy Lee Grahn is right around my age (59), so it would be pretty unusual, as in worthy of national news. I’m sure it’s a ruse to protect Alexis, maybe she/Sonny got the idea because Sonny spared Ava when she was pregnant with his child. I was liking this storyline until now, but I’ll wait a bit to see how it plays out before I give up on it.

Right, Becky. Our hormones are all over the place during menopause…..those eggs are very much alive. As I keep repeating, it’s rare, but it happens.
My problem is: given the circumstances and the fact that she could probably still conceive, why not use birth control? Again, the writers make Alexis out to be a dummy who does not know her own body. I would think that a woman, who already has adult children, would not willingly want another one. I’d love to ask that of my GG. There was birth control 50 years ago, soooo…..
As it is/was, Julian and Alexis are such lustful lovers, they threw caution to the wind; just as they did 40 years ago. But, she was an innocent girl, then.

That was my immediate reaction as well. I get that this is another “twist” and ups the stakes, but, um, no.

That is exactly what I thought, as well, MB. It may be a ploy to mollify Julian…..make him confess.
She’s 58, in real life. I don’t know how old Alexis is supposed to be. But, even at 55, having gone through menopause ( should be over snd done with, by now……factory closed!!), I ask, huh?
In what universe????!!!!
When Alexis had an attack of the ‘vapors’, I just KNEW the writing was going to take her down unchartered terrain. My sister said, ” C, are they going there?”. Yup, ‘they’ went there!!!!!
C’mon, now…….how stupid is Julian to buy this stuff??
What else will these geniuses concoct next ? It is not interesting. Pretty soon, we’ll find out Caroline Brady is pregnant with Victor Kiriakis baby, over at DOOL.

I did not realize Alexis was 52. I thought she was 58, as the actress.
So……forgive me if I seem to contradict myself.

Yeah, that was my first thought. They had a storyline a few years ago about her having hot flashes and going through menopause with the support of her friend Diane. Now everyone is supposed to believe she’s pregnant!

Yeah, well, we’re supposed to forget ‘everything’ on soaps. They twist and turn stories, plot-lines, and characters to their convenience.
I have always maintained that sex has no age limit. Sex does not stop at any age. But, I would assume it ‘eases’ a bit? Passion is passion….especially for women….men need a little ‘nudge’ much later in life. However, all they did was have sex….this couple was consumed by sex. Where did Alexis get the stamina? A woman of a certain age….having sex so much?
So, it is only natural for a couple to make babies when so busy between the sheets, on the couch the table, the floor…wherever…..but Alexis? No way, no how will the writers make this REAL. It is laughable. Incredulous!! No eggs!! It is sooooo difficult to conceive at that age, even if she were ovulating. Goes against the laws of nature and biology.
I want to throw up each time Alexis says, “….this baby.” She’s too old to have a baby. Unless artificially inseminated.
My contention has not swayed…..I do not think any of us wants to be fed ‘bull’ and treated as morons.

I misspoke. I meant to say implanted with an embryo ( petrie dish) ….not artificially inseminated. Many an ‘older’ mother, in this world of scientific progress, has carried the implanted embryo of her daughter successfully for her.

Julian would be a fool to believe this nonsense–like the rest of us.

Um…do 58 year old women generally get pregnant? I know Rachel did on Another World….and the show was cancelled two yers later. Alexis….pregnant?? Her on screen daughter is 42!!! Can soaps PLEASE stop with the absurd bàby stories? For real! This is not Passions! And Alexis is not a 500 year old Witch with reproductive capabilities! Did soap writers their training at a Lamaze class???? Enough!!!!!! Its absurd enough that Olivia is walking Around with Julian’s sperm donation on her breast!! It would be SO nice to see age appropriate stories!

Sorry, Dylan, but Lisa LoCicero was pregnant in real life. As I have already said, her pregnancy NEEDED to be written in. Many a woman in her forties has conceived and given birth the natural way.
Nancy Grahn, absolutely not!!!!! You are correct. The only way a woman that age would carry a baby would be through a petrie dish.

PS.
Nancy is 58, but Alexis is 52. I think it’s ridiculous to have put this pregnancy story in motion, I agree. But, getting pregnant at 52 ( very rare) is not out of the realm of conception. It is possible. As long as a woman ovulates, there is always a possibility.
If Nancy became enceinte? Well, that would happen somewhere else in space. And, I doubt Nancy would want to be pregnant. Lol.

How is Alexis 52? So…..she had Sam when she knocked it with Julian when she was 10?????

Dylan, Sam is 36, Alexis had her at 16. Sam, 36. Alexis, 52. Once again, a 52 year old woman can get pregnant if she is in permenopause, and didn’t go thru menopause.

I was reasoning the same way as you, Dylan; until everyone here set me ‘aright’. sam is not 40 as Kelly M, in real life…..so, it makes sense; but, marginally.

Dylan – my neighbor (also a Nancy) is 54 and just going through menopause now. It isn’t typical, but she could have gotten pregnant at 52 years old.

Uh…EWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!

Alexis is not pregnant.
Sonny is just making Julien believe she is to stop Julian from killing her.
Julian would not kill his baby.

“Making Julan believe she is”? NOT HARDLY! Julian is a gangster who is shrewd and evil–surely they would take him for a dupe???! GMAB!

uh…why ewwwwwwww?

Because, Rebecca…the last thing that Alexis needs right now is ‘to be with child’. NO, NO AND MORE NO!!!!!

Just saying……….

Um…why ewwwwww? Um…a 60 year old lawyer married to a murderer….who might be pregnant. Ewwwww is perfectly appropriate…so is HOW?

ummm, no Dylan. Ewwwww conveys revulsion and Alexis is attractive, intelligent and I believe 52 in the show (not 60). So, as I already said, if she experienced perimenopause and not menopause, then technically (even though in this case it’s just a ploy) she could get pregnant. And we’re watching a soap where rags and riches, priests and seductuve women and cops and robbers intertwine. I think there’s more “ewwwwww” in real life when 60-year-old and older men date 20 year olds…

Rebecca I am a very nice guy. My opinions on soaps are not up for debate simply because I knowwhat I like to wàtch and see. You defending fictional characters to me is a waste of your time.

Jaybird, yes–my sentiment exactly. Julian is not the only who has askance washing over his face upon hearing Alexis is preggers, the viewers did too.
Alexis may be the only woman to qualify for the Marie Calenders senior citizen discount and the Gerber Bay college fund at the same time.
And even if this is just a ploy, the very idea that Julian would be stupid enough to believe it is suspending our sense of disbelief wayyyyyyyyyyy too far.

Gerber Baby, not Gerber Bay

Yes, Harry, oh, yes!

Might as well ask us to believe that Monica and Tracy are pregnant–LOL!

And now I suppose we viewers will be asked to believe that Alexis fakes the pregnancy test Julian is now DEMANDING she take.
Do TPTB/writers have no shame??? How insulting to the viewers can they be?

Hello, darling Harry.
The average age for menopause is about 50….but, it varies. Believe it or not my great grandmother gave birth at 47. I can tell you it was more embarrassing for her grown children than it was for her. LOL. It is very rare to ‘drop’ a viable egg at that age, but it does happen. It’s hit or miss.
We do not know what the case is with Janet Jackson….she may have bern implanted. If I remember correctly she announced that she needed bed rest and cancelled her concert tour? Or, she may have conceived the natural way.
But, for a character who has supposedly gone through menopause, the chances are zilch.

Hey Harry…we ARE talking about fiction here but in terms of real life, things, people, life stages…are changing. Again, I’m not saying it’s the norm but people are living to over 100 these days. Eventually that will be more common than the exception. There are women and men who have children early in life and die young or get sick or suffer accidents. Some too unsettled in their lives to be ready for the commitment and years of responsibility. There have been studies that conclude having children in mid age might have its advantages. i admit, I laughed out loud with the unexpected ploy about Alexis being pregnant but if she is early 5os in the show and only went thru perimenopause, she could still technically get pregnant. whether a woman could carry the baby to term would be challenging, but doable.

Hey, my darling Harry.
I wholeheartedly agree with you, believe me.
I do not know Alexis’ backstory. I am just commenting with my opinion, limited as it is, with menopause. I may be 29, but I know what to expect. I will not be this age forever.
I am opining according to what I read on this site.
I said, it is possible to conceive at the age of 52 ( very, very rare; but, it could happen), even during menopause, if the egg that is ‘dropped’ happens to meet and say “hi” to one little powerful swimmer, on its way down the fallopian tube. LOL. Women who are in the midst of menopause still menstruate. Not regularly, but they do.
I had no clue Alexis had gone through ‘the change’. HaHa!! So, that’s on the writers not on Alexis. Look at me, Harry….defending Alex! Who ‘woulda thunk??’. Double LOL.
I am just wondering, if the pregnancy thing is a ruse, will Alexis’s test show a false positive? Is she going to draw 2 red lines on the test; or print the word ‘positive’? Ha!

I agree Jaybird. It’s just that “ewwwwwwww” to me conveyed repulsion at Alexis and the thought of HER being pregnant. And Alexus is my girl!;) so I rush to protect her. I must admit though I yelped abd laughed at how ludicrous the udea was; it’s beyond funny. But then I looked it up and had she not gone through menopause…I dont remember an episode stating that, it’s technically, though rare, for womwn who have given birth at younger ages to conceive evsn in their 50s. Rare, but happens…

Rebecca, they did indeed start a story line which broached upon the subject of menopause. Alexis was having hot flashes and Diane counseled her. They did not do a follow up on this story and just left it hanging.

and yeah, Janet Jackson is having a baby at fifty and I think it’s creepy for a lot of reasons including the greater possibility of birth defects in babies of mothers having a baby after 40, as well as the fact of having a senior citizen as a parent.
This is NOT me being an ageist, it’s about me being a realist

Rebecca nd Celian; of course it’s fiction and I certainly understand the suspension of disbelief. If I didn’t, I would not be here.
However, I do believe in the theory of memesis–art imitates reality.
We all know Alexis is past the age of fifty and many of us remember her going through the first stages of menopause (the hot flashes).
Then the writers abandoned that story and hoped us viewers suffered from short term memory lost.
Here’s the rub–I think we would all accept Alexis’s pregnancy (or the suggestion of thereof) if someone–either Alexis or Julian or ANYONE would show some kind of surprise or a dubious nature about it. If someone would JUST mention the implausibility of it even occurring I would be happy.
And before someone mentions that this is just a soap, I will be happy to tell you that once upon a time in a land called Pine Valley a character named Ruth Martin became pregnant while in her mid forties. No one ignored the age factor–Ruth was very sensitive about it and expressed her worries and insecurities. Joe Martn was also worried about becoming a father at this late stage in the game. And finally, Erica Kane made some really snarky comments about Ruth giving birth at her age–she was horrible as only Erica could be horrible.
Suffice to say, if someone within the confines of this fictional terrain would at least address the age issue, I think all criticism would disappear and we could be on Alexis’s side. This is a real issue for many post forty women and GH had an opportunity to address it.
I just wish the characters involved would at least talk about it.

Harry, I understand what you’re saying and agree. There should have been many discussions of surprise. Alexis should have been the first one to question whether Julian would believe it IF she had gone thru menopause. Anna could have had that discussion beforehand with Alexis as they all hatched the plot to ask her if it was still possible. Julian should have reacted with disbelief and accused Sonny of trying to trick him, telling him that it was impossible. BUT…there are many times GH falls short on normal reactions. People come back from presumed death and after a few little expressions of joy life goes back to normal. Nicolas is presumed dead and Alexis doesn’t seem to even know about it even though she’s his aunt and they’re very close. People look at dopplegangers…John McBain, Silas, Finn and do a little doubletake and then move along like it’s normal. There are SO many unrealistic human reactions/non reactions fhat you’d rhink we’d be used to it but it does smack us in the face each time with how ridiculous it is.
So I agree and yes, it’s frustrating. But we also know writers do play with history to suit their latest tale…and I stand by my original explanation. A woman can have menopausal symptoms for years…hot flashes and skipped periods. It’s called perimenopause. So if Alexis had all the above symptoms it doesnt mean that she already went thru actual menopause and yes, could be pregnant. Even then, a surprised reaction would have been the realistic way to go. If Sam or Molly, Christina finds out about the plan, I bet they’ll be the ones to question if it’s still possible. Now breathe…:)

The remark about Olivia being ridiculous that she’s walking around carrying Julian’s baby around or however that was worded I thought you might like to know the actress that plays Olivia truly did have a baby when Leo was born that’s why she disappeared from the show for a while and realize she was pregnant and does have a baby

this is the most painful thread…. evah

REALLY

for all the throes of passion… writhing included

we get this

I hear you, Patrick. I’ve no objection to passion on a soap, but sometimes I think the current writers don’t understand that it’s not automatically the equivalent of love. Romantic love can certainly—and most often does—include a healthy dose of passion, but that’s not the sum total of what love is, at least for me, and I’ve sometimes had the impression that these writers think otherwise: “if we show Couple X making mad passionate love, constantly, they can’t keep their hands off each other, then that shows the audience how much they’re in love, and we can move on to stories of how that love is challenged.” As a viewer, it doesn’t work that way for me.

But then, execution isn’t this HW team’s strong point, by any means. This Alexis/Julian story, for example, has some potential—there are elements that in theory make it a potentially very dramatic story, and it probably sounded terrific when it was pitched in the writers’ room and looks great on paper—but what I’ve seen of it so far has not been dramatized in a way to make me do much but furrow my brow and try to make sense of what I’m seeing on my screen.

There’s an art—largely a lost one, I’m afraid—involved in constructing a story on the screen in such a way that the audience invests, cares, and tunes in. It’s not enough to have a good (or even a terrific) idea: you have to execute it properly. Claire Labine knew how to do it; Guza knew how to do it (I didn’t like most of the Guza years, but it was because of the stories that were chosen, not the way they were executed); Carlivati knew how to do it (but lacked, at least during his time on GH, a certain self-discipline that’s necessary to write a soap effectively). These writers don’t, based on evidence so far.

Beautifully stated, Michael (not Fairman).

So agree with you–TG, as I recall, criticized and ridiculed Claire Labine–but she was a great writer, in my opinion. I remember her wonderful stories on Ryan’s Hope–and she TRiED to do the same on GH–but “boseman” Tony Geary shot her down–he admitted as much in interviews.

It has been a painful thread of terrible writing and storytelling! Bring back Claire Labine and Wendy Riche from the ’90’s!

ohhh geezuz!
she is too old..
how old is the Alexis character, nearing 50..
Seems menopause has come and gone..

Jean and Shelly get more stupid, everyday..

NLG is 58 and Alexis is 52

More like 52 (REALLY????? I’m not buying it…..) going on 15, Harry!!!! Alexis is a woman completely devoid of common sense when it comes to the birds and the bees, and worse yet, if she has actually forgotten that she’s already been through menopause, well, perhaps she’s developed early-onset dementia……and no, I am not being flip about the latter. It would be the only plausible explanation for this utter mess of a storyline, which is no laughing matter!

50+ nearing 60

You know what I think, SuzieQ? I think we are all taking this too seriously. It’s a stupid storyline, and the writers should expect every negative comment the story gets. We are human; compos mentis ……as such we speculate. Nature of the beast. There’s an oxymoron for you.

Considering Alexis needs something to protect her and Julian is a sucker for even the thought of his offspring…I can see her finding a way to get him to confess somehow over the “pregnancy” and turning him in and telling him to his face that she lied like he lied to her…or is that too much to hope for?

Trivet the….I’m hoping with you that Alexis is playing Julian. She can be very clever. Remember her “defence” of Olivia in the breastfeeding court scene?

She is clever, Rose. But, I do believe she’s barking up the wrong tree. Julian cannot be that much of an imbecile. As I said, ‘they’ could have come up with a more plausible reason for Julian to ‘regurgitate’ a confession.
……pathetic, infantile writing.

Too farfetched for him or the viewer to accept–another prime example of the writers writing characters into a corner (Julian) and trying to “redeem” them. Distasteful to the views and lazy, unimaginative writing. Stop insulting us, please!

It seems to me that GH has had it’s fair share of farfetched, unbelievable stories over the years. So nothing new here. And we are still watching…and at times grinding our teeth, or fast forwarding. But what I think we can agree on is Alexis should dump Julian whether he confesses or not.

I am just checking in to say that Tyler Christopher needs to stay gone…cause I am loving Nick Stabile in the role of Nikolas Cassadine…and he has amazing chemistry with Maura West. TC has been going through the motions since the mid 2000’s….and has so many phases where he phones it in to the point of laziness….but NS has fully committed to this material and is breathing life back into this stale character. NS does not brood and sulk in every scene the way TC did….and finally Nikolas is likable and charming again. Ava and Nikolas are the best part of GH right now…and NS has a way better vibe with MW than TC had going….so please ABC and Frank don’t try so hard to lure TC back. This has been an excellent recasting…and it would hurt the story to insert TC back in right now…cause NS is doing a great job. TC really shouldn’t play hardball with GH at the moment…way too many viewers are enjoying NS in his place and want his Nikolas with Ava.

Nathan, I have been fast forwarding through the Ava and fake Nikolas scenes but after reading your post, I think I should give them a chance.

Harry…these two are great together! I wrote on another page several times that this is a great pairing. A few of us mentioned his resemblance to Sean Kanan. There’s something about this actor who in my opinion while not consistantly on his game acting-wise is irresistably charming.

Harry, Maura can act with a paper bag so yeah, watch TEMP Nick, he is coming on strong and they have real chemistry brewing!

Even though I love TC and he will always be prince cassadine in my mind, I have to say I am enjoying the connection between Nikolas and Ava. They can be downright funny which is a refreshing change for both their characters.

Hurrah!!!!! Someone who sees what I see. Finally!!!! Thanks, Nathan.

Hey, CeeCee!…..I wasn’t at all offended when you suggested Stabile for NewNik….whilst Tyler Christopher was definitely THE quintessential good guy Cassadine royal for many years, he’s now just a sleazy, washed-up pudgy prince with no sex appeal. Time to throw him off the Wyndemere parapet for a new improved version!

@Shay.
Lol, Shaybelle…Thing is, I just never was into Tyler….even when his character was ‘good’. I am not a fan of his ‘type’.
Thus, I pray for a miracle. That is, Tyler has another job. Ciao.

Nor am I, CeeCeeGirl…..Tyler never did it for me, either….. I was simply able to “accept” him in the role as a princely gentleman before he became that unappealing, greasy-looking reprobate!!!! To say I don’t miss him is an understatement. Oh, and was it not a relief to see today that Alexis is indeed not the chosen vessel for a miracle pregnancy, but rather that her much-touted nausea was merely a symptom of “Julexia nervosa???” (Perfectly understandable, given that those two certainly made me queasy……)

@Shay.
Right, Shaybelle? I don’t know what Tyler’s attraction is.
Now, Stabile is a bird of a different feather. Call me crazy, but I can overlook Nik’s ‘indiscretions’, for some unfathomable reason, when Stabile plays him.
I am very grateful for the death of “Julexis”….these name combinations are not my thing…LOL.
I was not looking forward to more heavy breathing from these two every chance they got.
I am okay with Alexis without Julian’s influence. I love this new Alexis….unexpected!!!
Nancy has proven her mettle as an actress to me. I have waited a long time for this.
I like her newfound mode of dress. I hope to see, well-fitting suits in court and sexy outfits, out of court; including dresses, without too much fleshy extravaganza. The PTB are going in the right direction with this story. That should tamp your queasiness?? Sorry, couldn’t resist this pun directed (indirectly) to Alexis.

I hear you, “Celia!” Those cutesy, combo-names for coupledom never appealed to me, either……they are so over-used! Sort of like Alexis….sorry, couldn’t resist that one! LOL….You see, mia amica, I don’t believe she’ll ever be my cup of tea. I’ve seen this all before, chastened, supposedly older and wiser after yet another disastrous relationship hits the proverbial fan, and predictably enough, before long Ms. Davis is once again led by her loins to the next dirty, rotten scoundrel. It has happened so many times I’ve lost count. Hence despite a fresh attempt at sporting a more modest wardrobe, I’m not so convinced that she can put-to-bed her pattern of poor choices in partners nearly so easily as abandon her too-obvious taste for tartwear . In fact, I could well imagine her becoming involved with her own half-brother, Valentin, next…..unbeknownst to her, of course. but should this most corrupted of Cassadines slip into Port Charles undetected under the guise of the benign name “Theo,” ala Jerry Jacks’ example as “Mr. Brosnan,” then yes, I could very much envisage Alexis being the romantic dupe for a venegeful Valentin…..it really could prove quite delicious when you consider the possibilities!!!! My only hope is that regardless of her next amore’, we are not treated to the relentless rutting and rolling routine that Alexis approached so vigorously with Julian……that tawdry chapter in GH annals needs to be assigned to the ash heap of Port Charles history, never to be revisited! As for the new and improved Prince Nicky???? He seems much more of a chip off the old Cassadine in this current incarnation….I would love to see him interact with Helena…..how I hope her “resurrection” is just around the corner on “Iniquity Island.”

@Shay.
Hey, there amica mia,
Thanks for the heads-up concerning Alexis. I truly thought she went from man to man in the past because she was obsessed with her true, unrequited love, Julian…..That she could never find ‘satisfaction’ with any other.
I will hold out hope. Perhaps, now that she is older and wiser, her choices in men won’t be so ‘precipitous’ and she will use caution. As far as fashion….. perhaps, her tastes will not be as ‘earthy’? LOL.
Much, much more interesting and attractive to me is your possible scenario between Valentin and Alexis. As repulsive as it would be; that’s something that will keep everyone tuning in. However, it must be written by a delicate hand; one that will do such drama justice.
I am all for it, Shay…..however, the end result should be that by some miracle, Alexis’ mother lied about her daughter’s parentage ( THE Cassadine).
It really would turn my stomach otherwise. Ciao, bella.

P.S. That should have read “Russian sailor!”

Agreed!

100 percent with you Nathan!

Looks like I judged too swiftly (wouldn’t be the first time and certainly won’t be the last).
I am going to take Nathan and company’s word for it and tune in.

Do you remember when I said I hoped Nick Stabile would replace Tyler, Timmmy? Many took offense to that, saying that Tyler WAS Nik Cassadine….well, I tucked my tail in and shut up. What do I know??

Nathan…AGREED!!!!! As far as I’m concerned, Nick Stabile is a W-A-Y BETTER ACTOR than that Tyler Christopher dude!!!!! Case closed.

Take care, dude.

Jay, I think they both are good actors. I think what we are seeing is TEMP Nick is killing it right now which makes it SEEM like TC may have been phoning it in a bit?

Couldn’t agree more! Oozes charm!

I was a sceptic at first when they brought in Nick. But I am really liking him with Ava. And also liking the re-fresh on Ava. They have been fun to watch. As much as Tyler has brought a lot to the role of Nicholas, he was getting too brooding, and same-old, same-old over the last while.

Please I hope it is not true.

Even if she is pregnant, the Julexis baby would be with us in 3 or 4 months—not 9—as was mentioned at the end of the posting.

We saw the menopause story onscreen, we also saw Alexis go through chemotherapy onscreen! GH needs writers who know what the hell we already saw onscreen! I never liked Julexis and this sure as hell doesn’t help!

“Doesn’t help.” So agree!

IDK. The writers said something about this Julexis story being far from over. Having a baby would certainly tie them together. However, I’m not a fan of re-writing history. If she went through menopause, I hope she’s just faking it to entice Julian to confess.

IF the writer’s purpose was to get me to hate Julian then they’ve succeeded. I like William deVry, but Julian has been backed into a corner with this evilness of late and I can’t see him being redeemed any time soon or way. And with that, the writers have succeeded in getting me to dislike them as well. They’re twisting characters into pretzels. SMH.

Yes, “backed into a corner,” like I said!

This is the final straw: Time for new head writers.

OMG I hope not— this has to be some plan to try to guilt Julian into confessing, but as someone has already stated either way, true or not, it is about the dumbest plot device to come down the pike in a while.

Honestly, don’t writers know how to create honest drama nowadays, without resorting to these cheap tactics. As viewers are we supposed to be on the edge of seats wondering is she or isn’t she?

Come on. Ron C stuff might have been silly, but he wasn’t pretending to be serious, but J and S are serious which makes this so ridiculous— either Julian will see right through the ploy so why bother with it? Or he will buy it which makes the character a ruthless mob boss a clueless idiot who doesn’t know how a woman’s body works, Or beyond all logic we have to accept she is with child— which ever outcome it is, it is an insult viewers intelligence— imho.

Well said, Mary SF. I’ve never been a fan of the “anything goes” school of soap writing because, well, it’s only a soap so never mind what we said yesterday because odds are it will all change again tomorrow.

I think the writers have pretty much destroyed Julian and Alexis with this story so let the story come to its natural conclusion. No superfluous pregnancy, real or fake, to try to redeem them as a couple. Just end it.

Julian always reminds me of the parable of the poisonous snake who’s freezing to death and convinces a naïve girl to pick him up and warm him under her coat. Of course he bites her and the girl is shocked because she was so kind to him. The moral of the story: You knew what I was when you picked me up.

Time for Alexis to throw the snake under a bus and make sure he’s run over several times. End one chapter and move on to the next.

Stories need a beginning, middle and end even on soaps. That’s honest drama. Expecting viewers to play along with the preposterous isn’t honest. It’s always a disappointment at the “end” that makes you wonder why you even bothered.

Very well put, KM. I agree with all of that.

“Let the story come to its natural conclusion”–agreed, but the writers NEVER do so.

I agree, Mary.
And can the writers make Alexis look any more foolish than she already does? I feel sorry for NLG having to play the role of the stupid, too trusting woman who turns a blind eye to the evils of her man and then acts shocked when he turns out to be everything he demonstrated himself to be.
And now she has to utter the lines,”I’m pregnant”?

No wonder she is “sick to her stomach”–I would be too!

You’re right. No matter how this spins out it’s a terrible plot device. His guilt coupled with fear of his children’s certain disapproval and wrath should be enough to conflict Julian. He doesn’t need a baby on the way on top of that. Talk about overcomplicating things.

Either Julian buys it and looks like a clueless idiot, as you said, or he doesn’t, and then Alexis and Sonny look like total fools for thinking he would.

I’ll wait a little longer to see where this goes, but I’m sensing I’m going to end up feeling as though the writers must think I’m an idiot or a fool, too.

I’m beginning to think Julian is not buying it. They’ve been together a while now.
I would assume he knows Alexis’ bodily functions at “52”. My mother is 55…. The thought of her having a baby is ridiculous, not to mention embarrassing. I’d die, even if it were possible!!
Julian pulled out a pregnancy test kit. So, he’s not that stupid, I guess. Did he run out to the pharmacy? LOL.

Yeah, the writers think we are all idiots!

I don’t think Alexis is pregnant. I hope not. But when your back is against the wall like Alexis right now, why not play the pregnancy card? It’s farfetched, but she has nothing to lose. And there seems to be something pretty naive about Julian when it comes to “family” matters, or is it his guilty conscience, or trusting Alexis at her word…he just might buy into it and confess. My spin and some others can’t be anymore strange than what the writers are giving us already.

You’re right, Rose….as I said, Julian is a man who’s been around the block a few times…knows women and what they’re made of.
But, even if this pregnancy stunt is a ploy, it’s still foolish and inconceivable ( pardon the pun) to contemplate and/or suggest.
This premise should not have been entertained to begin with. I hope the great mind who thought of it realizes how foolish this idea was.

If they really want to present a ground breaking pregnancy story line, why not make Julian pregnant?

Silly…and after all is said and done Julian will do very little jail time if he even does any jail at all…then Julian will probably find out he is dieing and an overly emotional Alexis will want him back…they will get all mushy and reconcile…miracle worker Finn will cure him and Julian will claim he is a changed man then Julian will put a hit out on Sonny and Alexis will find out…she will run to tell Sonny but she is shot by the hitman and left a cripple…down at the docks Alexis confronts Julian saying, ‘You Bastard’ and tries to run him over with her wheelchair and he falls into the river and is presumed drowned…Julian suffers from amnesia, saved by an Amish woman named Reva(played by Kim Zimmer)…Julian now called Zacharia Smith marries Reva and they sell veggies at the local Farmers Market-lol

Jimh…don’t know what you are on, but your newest “scenario” really made me laugh.

You dont want to know-lol

Love it, Jimh! You’ve got it right!

I had no problem with Julian killing off Alexis BUT if she is pregnant, NO! Julian needs to die and then there will be a huge murder mystery which i am sure Jean and Shelly will muff up! Speaking of CRAP, why is it in the real world EVERYBODY knows EVERYTHING in a 140 character TWEET but on a soap, no one is up to date, the phones never have service or are ALWAYS off! My best friend has her phone surgically attached to her hip and NOTHING gets by her and she is not alone! Back to GH, Alexis gets arrested and it should be an OMG, and five seconds later Sam, Molly and Kristina are on their phones! Doesnt happen! BS!

Hello again, Timmmster!!!!! I also had NO problem with Julian killing Alexis….it would have made for excellent drama, not to mention been an answer to my personal prayers, but alas, we are yet to be subjected to more unmitigated nonsense to the tune of perpetually adolescent Alexis and her never-ending sex-driven life!!!!! I simply don’t understand why this woman is made out to be some sort of supercharged reproductive Energizer Bunny….as if Port Charles needs any more bambinos, let alone one birthed by a soap opera Guinness Book of World Records-styled mother! A much better fate for the neurotic Ms. Davis would be for her to give up on men altogether and open a feline sanctuary, because NOTHING says “crazy female” like a houseful of cats!!!! Of that, I’m sure we can agree! (I would add, “Meow,” but I know how much you would not appreciate that, Timmmbo!” LOL….) ; )

Sweet Shay, I knew my Alexis comment would tickle your whiskers!!! There is no where to go with Alexis anymore. Killing her would put a target on Julian and Sonny, Sam, Kristina and Molly would be on the war path and would create great drama! [One important ingredient for a soap!] That wont happen but at least her and Julian’s coals have cooled!

No. Sonny just wants Julian to confess.

Yeah. Stupid, right, Michael? All this fuss over Duke….including Anna, who has lost sight of persuing for justice, not revenge. If I hear Duke’s name one more time…….
The end result of Julian’s persecution (I’m not saying he does not deserve it), combined with Anna’s and Sonny’s obsession, has put Alexis in a deadly vise.
Did you see Nancy’s neck? Lordy Lord….it was all red. Is that the real thing? Say it “ain’t” so!!

Pursuing….not persuing.

Alexis Davis must have desorased lady parts. I could have sworn Mrs. Jerome went through menopause about five years ago.

love this idea, if kids can mature overnight, perhaps ovaries can regain youthful function

or maybe Alexis has some sort of condition, ask Finn

maybe it’s a miracle

maybe since Sonny has so much experience with im-pregnating every woman in Port Charles, it was his first thought on how to save Alexis

Anne, so it would be The Curious Case of Alexis’s Ovaries.

@Harry……Rather like that born-again V-card that Alexis was carrying when she re-discovered Julian! By the way, your most clever description makes me think of David Suchet’s iconic detective, Hercule Poirot….I’ve just been binging on all 70 episodes of that magnificent series…..it was superb in its historical and production values, plus the mysteries actually had an interesting beginning, absorbing middle and thrilling, yet logical, end….unlike those on GH!

Desorased lady parts….too funny!!

Alexis pregnant? Really?!?!?!?! Dumb. Maybe Brooke can conceive a child with Bill over on B&B and they can have a Mommies Club? Invite Sharon Newman from Y&R too!

Writers seem to want to SORAS those kids but hey people… that means the adults grow too. I am tired of seeing middleagers act like children in stories. Comes a time to grow up. Life is no less interesting or challenging or dramatic.

OMG! First Olivia & Ava, now Alexis! You can tell the writers are men living in a fantasy world! It has to be a hoax to save her!

Ava/Maura is in her early 40’s, I believe. And, Olivia/Lisa was pregnant in real life. ‘They’ HAD to write her pregnancy in. Both women are in their 40’s….still in their child bearing years. Compared to Alexis they are babies. LOL.

I think it is a tactic to get Julian to confess. Past writers began writing a menopause storyline for Alexis, but, it was of course dropped!

Would that “menopause” COULD be “dropped,” right? LOL!

Realized I quoted myself wrong it was this morning not yesterday and not bragging this has been a dream of mine all my life Iove of horses I have tons of photos in my home people laugh when they come to visit just like my love of dogs which I have but horses are a bit more expensive then a pooch! I have the best husband the best daughter and the best pooch in the world! I have enjoyed every moment I have spent with all if you soap fans even if we did not always agree! But trust me nothing like riding a gorgeous horse at sunrise like heaven ! Truly blessed! Best to all of you and I will check in time to time to keep you guys straight

By the way I kept screaming she is mine she is mine! Peace to all of you lovely people I am just truly giddy!

Kay, I am not sure what the hell you are talking about but it sounds beautiful.
I love horses too, but I love them more when I am not riding them as I am horseback riding challenged. I mean, really, I am a disaster on a horse and the horse knows it.
Hope all is well with you.

Harry all my life I have loved horses when I was a kid I rode other people’s horses I was raised on a farm dirt poor we were my husband gave me this gift she is mine and she is beautiful and I guess I just had to share not bragging just beyond words so I was screaming to the heavens that she was mine! Annie Oakley here I come I was riding this morning at 5:30 am never felt so alive don’t have to think about the awful things that is going on in our country I guess I wanted to share my happiness with my soap family if I offended anybody did not intend to I will still visit this site from time to time! Guess I got carried away! Best to all of you just on the best high of my life

Just so you know you are truly a gentlemen!!! Best to you always

As for the storyline what the hell it is a soap!

Happy trails k/Kay. I have always wanted more of a pony myself. Sounds like your husband is a keeper, too.

If you only knew our story of how we got together it would make for great soap opera,

Congratulations Kay! How wonderful.
I am a city kid and always dreamed of having a horse so one day my mother bought me horse back riding lessons for my birthday. I was about eight, There I was in my spanking new cowboy boots and cowboy shirt and the riding instructor took one look at me and put me not on the beautiful quarter horses mind you, but on the old black pony whose tummy almost touched the ground. When the instructor told us students to all follow her to the coral for our first lesson, my pony promptly waddled to the barn and just stood there. He would not budge despite my prodding. When the instructor didn’t see the pony and me in the coral she came looking for us. She found the pony munching hay in the barn and me crying all over my brand new cowboy shirt.
And she yelled at me and said I was not cut out for horse back riding.

Harry darling you can do anything you want to do have faith in yourself! And yes was there this morning at 5:30 I adore her . I have known her since she was a colt we get each other if that makes sense

awwww lil Harry…too funny! you know what they say, if you fall off (or if your horse decides to go on a lunch break) ya gotta get right back on the saddle!

You mean filly, kay….a colt is a male.

Enough we will probably let my friend have get back by next year we are planning on leaving the country can’t stand the thought that was f having to listen to Hillary for four years of her bullshit

But yes I misquoted but I am enjoying her while I can my daughter is trying to get bas d overseas to fly we are selling all properties we are dine with a crooked nation

Just so you know I was very ignorant of horses still am I am being trained five days a week trying to learn how to ride etc

There is no other place in the world better than the USA, kay. Why would you want to live overseas? Nothing comes even close to the freedoms we enjoy, right here in this beautiful nation. And, although all the atrocities being committed; it’s worse overseas. We are rethinking traveling to Europe this year….tenuous and unstable times, Kay…..especially overseas.
I have been to many places/countries……Couldn’t wait until I came back to this blessed soil.
About learning to how to ride? Lol, Kay, make sure you know your colts from your fillies; your stallions from your mares first. Just kidding!!
I have been riding since I was two. Once you embrace the ride; your mount becomes part of you. Greatest feeling in the world. I was under the impression you mastered the art. I guess, I misread.
I thought you left a few weeks ago, kay. We said our goodbyes then. Anyway, i will do it again……whatever your destination. Godspeed!

@Celia I am aware of that I’m very frustrated and no we have to stay here as I am typing this it is that I get down that my orange juice would make a better President then what I am being told to pick. Peace !

I agree it is a trick. Julian will do the right thing. And Alexis will lose the “Baby”..

If she is pregnant it’s inconsistent and terrible writing. If she isn’t, it’s a pointless time waster. Long live GH!

Stories not always consistent on soaps…that why.its a soap and I’m a long for the ride!! Woot woot

Yesh, such thing DO give soaps the bad name–more’s the pity!

I’m confused. If Alexis is really pregnant (not likely), why is Sonny wasting time with Julian? He should be calling the National Enquirer.

hahaha…lol! now THAT was funny!

Good one, Soaphound!

Soaphound…GOOD ONE…LOL!!!!! Oh…and let’s not forget the Globe and Star Magazine…LOL!!!!!

Have a good one.

Alexis is not pregnant,
and- it’s more than stupid to attempt to have people to believe she is..
Perhaps J&S think we are all lame brains and will believe it … lol

OK. Watching today’s show now and Alexis just confessed to being pregnant to Julian. Now we’re all going to have to wait to find out if it’s the truth or a ploy to trap him. Either way…DUMBEST PLOT DEVICE EVER! For God’s sake the character went through menopause years ago. It was great to have something like that play out on daytime TV. Now that good work has been undone. Julian, as Alexis’s husband, should know that she went through menopause. So his second questions after, “Are you pregnant?” should have been “How?!”

Yeah Julian, if you believe this one, then believe this to, Lucas is pregnant ,as well!

Another good one! And, as I said in an earlier post, let’s just make Monica and Tracy pregnant–does that cover just about every woman on GH–GMAB!

I’m so tired of all saying she’s too old…i think it would be good for.her and fun for storyline!!

Well, she is too old, Bobbie. It’s just a fact. Moreover, I could accept this implausible storyline or suggesting there of, if someone, ANYONE, would voice their concern or shock about a fifty something year old woman having a baby.
I mean, really, can th writers just have Alexis say,” I thought I went through menopause and didn’t bother with birth control”? If she said such a thing I think we all could accept it. No one is noticing the elephant in the middle of the room and that is what is driving us viewers crazy. In my case, that is a short drive.

Harry, my grandmother is 75. She wears tube skirts and skinny jeans. LOL. I’m serious. She has the body and looks great.
But, yes. If this menopause thing had not been introduced, as many have said, Alexis’s pregnancy could have happened.

PS.
And, no, she is not pregnant.

People throw the word “old” out way too often Bobbie. If people of a certain age kiss, make love, are infatuated, show passion, are in the mob, fress a certain way…at one time or another a few have called them too old for one thing or another. I’m “too old” lol to let that keep annoying me, but then I think of that expression, “you’re never too old” and so I feel perfectly fine being annoyed! 😉

and that would be dress…not fress!

I think we would all be more accepting if someone just mentioned the age thing. In real life we would mention it–right?
That said, Alexis could pass for her early forties–she looks amazing.

I miss Ron C.

Can somebody please tell me why they are calling Little Edward “Teddy”.

I had a pre-emption and I think I missed that episode.

Thanks….

I only heard little Edward but if they said anything it was probably Eddie.

“Teddy” is the nickname for “Edward”, gh’er.
Think Edward Kennedy. Everyone called him “Ted”.

Thanks Celia.
I was just so confused. All of a sudden out of no where, everyone started calling him Teddy.
At first I thought they were saying Eddie, but it was Teddy.
Thanks.

Many, many people called the late senator a lot worse than “Ted,” CeeCeeGirl!!!! (Just saying….LOL, and hello!!!) I am about to get back into my groove here, and of course, this seemed just the thread to do so. Soooo stay tuned….and a belated Happy 4th to you! (As for “TeddyBoy?”….I’m still referring to him as “Eduardo Rivera,” as I initially did…..lest we forget that he’s the gangster spawn of Carrrrrrr-LOS!)

@Shay.
HI, HI, HI, HIIIII !!!!!
Say!! Ma belle!!!!
You are back!! So happy!!
I wrote to you….but I did not see it on the board. Hope you received it, anyway. You have been soooo missed.
Poor little ‘Teddy’!! Not of good parentage, is he? But, he is just an innocent little baby. Let’s just hope he is not given any kind of baby drama where he gets sick, or kidnapped, or worse, dies.
A piu’ tardi,cara.

@CeeCee…..No, dear, I never received your reply…..of course, I would have responded….the last time we were in contact was on the Diane Delano thread when I outlined my “suggestions” for Alexis….(cats and um, “flying solo!” LOL….) As for “Teduardo?” I thought for sure he was going to have Zika virus….actually Sabs should have been charged for sneaking him into the country without being checked first for that particular malady….it’s so serious and nothing to be trifled with….Finn was right to be miffed when he was called to the Q’s to examine said nino!! That infant could have caused an outbreak, and whilst I wouldn’t be against some sort of epidemic to “cull the herd” of a bloated GH cast, I would prefer something more creative and less topical (though tropical would be okay….) to do the task! Later…..

That’s ok gh’er. I have a cousin named Edward. We call him Ned, which is also a nickname for Edward. It doesn’t make sense, I know. One would think that ‘Teddy’ is an endearment for Theodore. Go figure. LOL.

@Shay.
P.S.
Lol, about Ted Kennedy. His “story” still circulates on the Vineyard….his ridiculous account of how mysteriously his pregnant liver died still befuddles people; and, how he got away with it.
Regretfully, it’s not good Karma to talk about the dead in a negative way, isn’t it?
I am always reminded of that. So, does that mean that murderers and every fiendish criminal get a pass after death? LOL.
Are you aware that the Dyke Bridge in Chappy was torn down because of that incident?…. If that’s the way ‘things’ really went down.
I wonder how many storylines have been patterned after the Chappaquiddick imbroglio.

Lover, not liver. That funny….

Hey there, CeeCeeGirl! I can only imagine the stories to which you are privy on the Vineyard…particularly from those of your grandparents’ generation!!!! I’ve heard a few choice tidbits from Palm Beachers (both young and old) with their own tales to tell of that clan at their “winter homebase,” not to mention the infamous “AuBar,”….suffice to say, they were absolutely abhorrent, and the only one who garnered any sort of admiration for having a modicum of manners and breeding was the late JFK Jr. Interesting. At any rate, I’ve taken a much needed break from GH…..I simply could no longer deal with the endless parade of colorless characters and sophomoric storylines….and this one with our much-debated Alexis really takes the cake!!! When I first read of it here, I knew I would have to eventually comment because it’s totally insane, not only for the very logical and well-reasoned points you—and many others, hellooooo, Harry!—-have already referenced, but just because this woman has become the proverbial laughing stock of Port Charles…..first we had to watch her make a mountain out of her menopausal molehill for months on end by carrying around her little portable fan to cool her constant hot flashes, next we were subjected to the ridiculous notion that she was a feminists’ fantasy of the post-menses-aged sex goddess, forever the insatiable slave to the overwhelming needs of her nether regions and always ready for another round of rutting with Julian as they went at each other like two crazed monkeys on crack, and oh, NOW she’s getting a miracle waaaay-over 50 pregnancy…why, because she’s such wonderful mother material she deserves yet another child to torture with her highly-questionable lifestyle choices???? Give me a break! Despite the obvious efforts to forcefeed the “Ms. Davis as a brilliant superwoman” meme to which Alexis apologists stubbornly adhere, the truth is rather that she’s a foolish, gullible and stupendously stupid female who continues to choose the most indefensible examples of worthless lovers because she is so desperate for male attention….how empowering is that, I ask you???? Has she learned nothing in her nearly 60 years on this planet???? (Rhetorical question, apparently…..) Personally, I was hoping JulesBaby would have strangled her in her so-beloved bathtub in that den of marital iniquity those two shared….it would have been so poetic for her to meet her end at the hands of her first (and last….) thug-amore’!!!! Hah! Okay, I’m done with my anti-Alexis spiel for today…..it’s good to be back! I’ve missed you and many of the other regulars here at MFSoaps! Later, mia amica!

Isn’t their a song that goes good night the party’s over ? Now please remember these are the writers that brought you the fantastic storyline on Y&R of Jill and the music box! What exactly was the fantastic story with Laura/Genie Francis I do not want to be a wet blanket but we are looking at cancellation at best

I heard that they are looking for new writers and that the current regime’s contract which is almost up will not be renewed.
Of course, if they keep the EP, the writing will not improve. I have decided HE is the problem.

I have to agree with you about the EP. He did a great job along with Ron of reviving GH, and I loved his work on OLTL. But the cast is so bloated and the storylines so fractured, the show is becoming less and less watchable.

I hope so Frank needs to go he is like JFP he gets personal soaps are a business you can’t get personal with the actors it reflects on the quality of the show. And is it just me or does Billy Miller look miserable?

Whenever I see the word ‘regime’, I think of combat. You know, the military. A strict, structured cult.
I know it’s silly, Harry. But, the first time I heard the word was in my ninth grade History class. The teacher was so mean….he yelled a lot and constantly barked the word “R E G I M E”. I jumped each time he roared it because he looked straight at me. Can you blame me?
Are you he?

I was wrong. This show CAN get worse.

since they didnt pursue the story (which i don’t remember) the symptoms described could have been perimenopause which I mentioned several times. If the writers wanted a rationale for even suggesting/lying about the pregnancy they’d be totally credible as one can still get pregnant during that stage.

I’m remembering the storyline has her clearly going through menopause and not just being perimenopausal. If we are to believe she is pregnant than at least the writers need to acknowledge how this would be an unusual and unexpected situation for a woman in her 50s who was thought to have been menopausal. Julian should have not just been surprised but stunned. He should insist on going with Alexis to get a doctor’s confirmation given that Alexis could have drawn an extra line on the home pregnancy test. Btw, I love how he forced her to take the test but didn’t even know what two lines meant. Alexis had to tell him!

lol, ya gotta admit it provides some unintentional comic relief! 🙂

Dylan…I don’t know u but I have no reason to doubt that you’re nice. I’m nice too. But you’re the one that responded to my statement-question regarding the “ewwww” factor, not the other way around. Your comment was directed at my reaction. You can feel whatever u want; I simply separated fact from fiction, so to speak:. You said Alexis is 60. The actress is not and Alexis is around 52. She CAN be pregnant (even though we were all shocked and realize it’a a trick) and she, Carly, Sam,Laura, Bobbie, Olivia all have children by murderers. As for defending fictional characters, stories, etc…that’s part of what we all do-discuss here. No one has to agree but we all give our views, which is what u do too.

Harry, I’ve actually been enjoying the stories…sigh…must be beyond challenging to keep these shows going for so long and trying to keep as many fans invested in them as possible.Just in this microcosm of Michael Fairman we are divided…imagine if this site posted EVERY viewer’s opinion!

Rebecca, I think we’re on the same page.
My main quibble is that Alexis and all the parties involved will not even mention the age issue as they would if this were real life. At first I harbored some hope that someone, anyone, would address the issue of late pregnancy when Julian said to Sonny upon hearing about his wife’s pregnancy,”That’s impossible!” I thought for a fleeting moment that Julian was adhering to his basic female biology 101 lessons but that thought was quickly negated with Julian having a flashback of he and Alexis having sex in the tub. He uttered,”That’s impossible!” not because he thought Alexis was post menopausal but because he didn’t remember having sex with her four weeks ago.
Either way, both scenarios are implausible, badly written and inherently suck

Hey Harry, my comnent didn’t fall in the right place. This was in response to your pist that u heard they were replacing the writers…

I posted to u two othet times above. Dont think u saw them. one was in response to your “tender lil pony” tale, ahem…and the other was in response to ypur post to me and Celia…Happy 4th!

lol, it just posted, (not pisted) in the wrong place again, complete with spelling errors, even though I wrote under your reply. I give up…

Shes 60 on the show….and she suppose to be pregnant…

she has a 30something daughter…with a baby!!!

I don’t understand the writers making her pregnant…her daughter Sam should be having the baby,…

BAD WRITING!!!

It’s not as rare as everyone here seems to think. There are tons of what they call change of life babies in my family. Women who are in the middle of going through menopause and conceive. Precisely because the hormones are going crazy, sometimes your body kicks out multiple eggs so Twins and triplets are much more common when you conceive during perimenopause. It may not be wildly common but it’s not a one-in-a-million shot either

Only if she keeps the baby or gives it up for adoption.

Nancy Lee Grahn’s Star-Studded ALS Fundraiser Reveals “I’ll Be There” Video Featuring Soap Opera Notables

Talk about your impressive line-up! It’s a soap fans dream and for a great cause. General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) is prepping her one-night only ALS fundraiser which will feature many of her friends and co-stars.

The benefit is set for May 4th in Glendale, California. Slated to participate are Genie Francis, Jane Elliot, Peter Bergman, Maurice Benard, Eileen Davidson, Thorsten Kaye, Michelle Stafford, Stephen Nichols, Rena Sofer, Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Claire Egan, Maura West, Kristina Wagner, Gregory Harrison, Trevor St. John, Kate Mansi, Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, and many others.

On Wednesday, Grahn took to her social media and released an “I’ll be there” video shout-out featuring, Monaco, Elliot, Bergman, Bernard, West, Harrison, St. John and more. In a touching and important moment in the new video, Michelle Strogny, who is battling ALS, is featured.

Photo: ABC

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

For information on Nancy’s event, including the stars who are s scheduled to participate click here. To purchase tickets to the event click here.

Check out the video featuring Nancy’s friends and co-stars below.  Now let us know, your thought son the line-up for the benefit and helping raise awareness and funds for ALS research via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Photo: SPeaceIG

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Courtesy/ABC

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Learns Britt Died and Tells Anna He Has Been Working For Cates Since November 2021

On the Tuesday, March 26th of General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and the viewers learn about where Jason (Steve Burton) has been for over two and half years. However, Jason gets some news of his own.

Anna is visiting Jason at the PCPD interrogation room. She asks him if he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which he flatly denies. Anna believes him, but she tells Jason it doesn’t matter, because video footage shows him on the roof at the time of the shooting

When talk turns to Jason not willing to speak without his lawyer present, Anna can’t grasp why Jason would instead spend an hour alone talking with John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

Photo: ABC

It is then that Anna brings up that John went by “Jagger” and that the two of them knew each other in high school. Jason doesn’t recall much of his time in high school following his brain injury, but then he gets furious realizing John knew about “Jason’s” past. That is when Jason slams the table and tells Anna, “I’ve been working for John Cates since November 2021.”

Next, Jason explains further that he has been working as an informant for the FBI. Anna wants to know how this came about and he tells her that after the tunnel collapsed, and he couldn’t make it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)… all of a sudden he sees Anna’s face drop.  Anna is the first person to tell him that Britt died and was murdered. She tells Jason the killer is in custody, but he continues to be shocked, overwhelmed with tears welling up in his eyes. Realizing he has to pivot to save his life, Jason continues telling Anna how he wound up working with John.

Jason explains that after the tunnel collapse in Greece, FBI agents grabbed him and placed him under arrest and took him to Quantico where he met John. At Quantico, John played a recording of RICO violations and offered Jason a deal if he agreed to be an informant against Pikeman, the illegal arms dealer.

Anna hears from Jason that he thinks Pikeman is selling illegal arms to anyone flagged by the NSA but has ties to the WSB which they needed a civilian to infiltrate their organization as a military soldier, a mercenary.

Jason tells Anna he was a part of the team brought into eliminate Sonny (Maurice Benard). Every time an attempt was made on Sonny’s life over the last two years, a different team was sent to do the job. Anna gets furious when she learns that John told Jason his job was to kill Sonny and she was with John at the warehouse that night. Jason ensured the sniper missed Sonny and left the rifle behind. However, they were supposed to meet an extraction team. Before he was shot, Dante saw it was Jason on the roof and when he turned around with his hands over his head, Dante was shot by the other guy. Jason says if Dante dies, he’ll be charged with capital murder and then will be useless to the FBI.

Meanwhile, John visits Bobbie’s and runs into Carly (Laura Wright). She learns Jason is in custody and is going to head to the PCPD. Before she does, Carly has some words with Cates when she learns not only does John have a vendetta against Sonny, but Jason too.  Carly tells John he should recuse himself from the case.

So, what did you think about the moment when Jason learned Britt died? What do you think of Jason’s return storyline thus far and what we learned about Jagger/Jason and more? Comment below. But first, check out a moment from today’s GH with Jason and Anna.
