GENERAL HOSPITAL: Is Little Jake Alive After All?

Monday’s episode of General Hospital ushered back on to the canvas f-time Daytime Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson as Lucky Spencer in short story arc. Jackson came back to GH to share some final scenes with Tony Geary (Luke) before the soap icon leaves the canvas. Over the years, Geary has made no-bones about that top on his list of favorite scene partners is Jackson.
In story, it was Lucky who saved the day for Luke and Laura (Genie Francis), by firing bullets as Frank Smith and his henchmen, who had his parents at gunpoint. After some shoot-em-up moments, Lucky, Luke and Laura were reunited again in a tender moment for all longtime fans of the ABC soap opera. Lulu (Emme Rylan) even got in on the action and got to share a hug from her big brother
As Smith laid bleeding out and was trying to get to his gun to shoot his nemesis’, Luke finally put an end to his life 20 years after he thought he had done in the first place. Before, Luke sent Smith to hell for eternity, Smith utters some words about “Lucky being in on it.”

When Luke questioned Lucky, it seemed that Lucky put himself in harm’s way intentionally, because of little Jake! – The believed-to-be dead four-year-old son of Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Jason’s (Billy Miller), who Lucky raised as his son!
Viewers recall that it was back around March of 2011 when news broke that then GH head writer Bob Guza was going to kill off the adorable cutie patootie via a hit and run … and it would be revealed that none other than Luke Spencer, who was drinking at the time, was responsible for it.
Meanwhile on yesterday’s episode with Elizabeth remembering little Jake in front of big Jake (AKA Jason), and clearly Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason being drawn closer to one another now that they are working together, could this be the added wrinkle that would be thrown into continue to keep Sam and Jason apart?
In addition, in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest it was noted from current General Hospital head writer Ron Carlivati, that Lucky’s return is not the end of the story, and that the head scribe wanted there to be some other component that had a lasting impact on the show and on the story. Is this what he was referring to?
After Monday’s airshow, social media was abuzz with some GH fans saying that they were very against history being re-written yet again, while others who detested the original story of killing-off the little boy were hoping that Jake could be alive after all, although it seems implausible on many levels for many fans. And still there are those who even went and re-watched the five minutes following the original death of Jake, and related: Elizabeth saw no car, and didn’t even hear a crash, but found her son at the side of her yard, not on the road.
The debate is on: Would you like it to turn out that little Jake is alive? Are you intrigued by the story? Are you against it? What did you think of the return of Jonathan Jackson? Weigh-in below!
I just don’t trust TPTB for bringing back Jake, they are just teasing Liason fans so that they will watch the show due to the fact that the ratings are plummeting. I left the show in 2008 for the crap that they did to Liz and Jason just because one person didn’t like an actress and favor another. I really wish Jake will come back and make Liz whole, she hasn’t been her Lizzie self where she is a take no prisoner person. I know I am rambling but I will switch back to GH if Jake does come back, or Y&R and DOOL I will stick with you.
the boy who last played Jake has apparently taped scenes. I think by Friday Lucky will be at Liz’s door with Jake.

preface: could they be doing this… as a way of getting the audience to reunite Liz and “Jason” with their son, Jake? so as to ease the transition that he won’t be with Sam and Daniel Edward… as she seems happy with Patrick?

Enough Back from the dead characters. There have been about a dozen since Cartini took over. RC/FV have turned GH into a total joke and the ratings prove it.
There will be some who will rejoice over Baby Jake being alive, but that will mostly be the Liason shippers and that is exactly why this is being done. It is a plot point to give Liason a child too, so there is no distinction for Jasam. RC thinks this complicates things and makes it interesting, it doesn’t.
The big problem with bringing Jake back will be the story they will tell, the explanation that will be given. The show doesn’t make sense on a daily basis, so this will be no different.
Somehow Frank Smith is involved? Really? This will wind up being so convoluted and ridiculous, it will be beyond bad.
I am so confused already, Matilda. All these Luke Spencer enemies!!!!. I guess Helena had a hand in resurrecting Frank Smith? And what does he have to do with little Jake?

jason gave Jacob Martin to Lucky to raise why would he turn his back on the one he can claim Who is so attached to him he runs to him whenever he sees him plus he practly raised Michael as his own why forgive Elizabeth for what she helped Nicholas do to his family
I totally agree! It seems the writers don’t like jasam or jasam fans very much. Every time we get one step closer to them they do something to put them ten steps back! I don’t understand it because there are SOOOO many jasam fans and I know several that won’t watch the show unless they change the writing for them in favor of them. People don’t like to admit this but they ARE A super couple much loved! The modern day Edward and Lila or Monica and Alan. Destroying this couple is a HUGE mistake. I can’t believe they didn’t learn that the first time around when they let Steve Burton go without a fight. I love everything else about the show but I so beyond disappointed about jasam!

If Jake does turn out to be alive, this is not a slap in the face of Sam and Jason fans anymore than it is an endorsement of Jason and Lizzy.
I think this kind of fan mentality is ridiculous. Besides, Sam has a baby with Jason.
Jake being alive after all is more likely a case of righting a wrong. Bob Guza and his team should have never had Luke kill Jake while driving under the influence. That was a horrible storyline and the beginning of the end for the character of Luke. I see Jake being alive as a retirement gift for Tony Geary–the proverbial gold watch, if you will.
I hope Jake is alive as I always detested that story. I don’t approve of killing off soap babies/children as a plot point. The only time I saw it work was with the “BJ’s Heart” story because it unified the entire town of Port Charles and it rose up to actually mean something.

but this is the problem, catering to any one fan group. Jasam had years of their couple, those of us who are not jasam fans and we are many, were very bored of that. Couples have to shake up, and the last thing I want to see is a longterm jasam story. Reunion, fine, but time for both characters to move on.
Rose…a child is not going to keep Liz and Sam together. She’s lied…kept him from learning his true identity and took a husband from his wife; a child from his father. Jason staying with Liz after discovering all this would be more ludicrous than EVERY character being brought back from the dead!
Exactly. Waaay too many. Soap fans enjoy them from time to time to get our favorite actors back. It’s usually because a body was never found, however. How are they going to explain that Josslyn got Jake’s heart? I know, it was Helena or Frank Smith (who both have also come back from the dead) who finagled it somehow. Too much, too much!
And if this is true, they may have lost a viewer.

The superb acting with Lucky and his parents saved the storyline…imo…if little Jake is alive maybe Nik knows this and to save him, he is being blackmailed into taking over ELQ…the secret of the two Jakes(one is Jason and the other is little) Jake plotline!!!
My problem with little Jake—did Robin bring him back from the dead—a bit gruesome to me when it involves a child, especially because i had to bury one 15 years ago…too much like that horrible Pet Cemetary movie…hope he was alive along instead but having his loved ones grieve is also terrible…really hope they dont do it!!!

Yes. that little boy never should have been killed off. he was killed off because Becky Herbst (Liz) was fired and her exit story was to have her go crazy after her son’s death. when fans revolted about her firing, she was rehired but this rushed and horribly written story was already well in the works.
I hate when they kill babies on shows. fans who don’t want Jake alive are fans that don’t want Liz to have a connection to Jason cause they want him with Sam. Sam and Jason are going to be reunited. righting this wrong isn’t going to change that. Bring little Jake back to his mama. I’m all for a baby not being dead. I know he’s like 8 now but still remember him as that little boy
I agree, Ash! I am one of the fans who wrote in to the show in support of Becky when she was fired. She’s not even my favorite, but she is a good actress and Liz is a legacy character. And the way her son was killed off .. just so Jason&Sam could rationalize bringing their own child into a life of danger .. turned my stomach. I’m glad the show is finally righting this grievous wrong.
I think the ratings will go way up if Sam & Jason are finally reunited. We do not need another story involving Helena brainwashing a child esp not dead Jake Like the story where she brainwashed Lucky.

As one of the fans who was very angry at Guza for killing Jake, i don’t care whether he left any holes or not in the story, I want jake back. That was a senseless and mean-spirited death. It was intended to show RH the door by ruining her support from fans. It did not. Bring back Jake.
if they do bring back little Jake, where has he been and who’s been raising him and how old should he be. (the writers can make him older) if, they do bring him back, this be one of the storylines of the ages, even for GH.

That’s exactly what I think will happen. Lil jake will make Jason remember who he is and put everything together. which is a little messed up that him seeing Danny didn’t make him remember.
So glad I stopped watching this crap and, from the looks of the ratings lately, it seems I’m not the only one.

Wow–I must stick up for Jonboy. He has been a GH fan for a long, long time and clearly his show became so bad he had to stop watching. I remember Jonboy from way way back. I do recall his posting on the GH AOL boards. He stopped watching not because of his disdain for his show but rather, due to his love of what it once was.
He gets to pop in here from time to time when he sees an article which perks his interest. I know I do the same.

I’ve been questioned by one poster….just one…but it’s still nerve…as to my popping up on a soap post other than GH and felt the need to explain that sometimes I’ll contribute my opinion if it involves an actor I like who is now on another soap…or a more general topic that catches my eye.
What is also galling is that some posters have friends here who do nothing but complain about stories/characters on GH ALL fhe time…but then randomly criticize a regular poster like jonboy.

I’m thrilled that RC is rectifying the horrible wrong that Guza perpetuated – killing off a 4 year old is as disgusting as JFP killing off little Delia within weeks of being hired. Now if only we could rid PC of the mob and the little mobbie.
It would be good if Jake was alive but just cause he’s alive it doesn’t mean Jason will stick with Liz. Jason loves Sam, all the lying Liz has done,for sure any chance she had with Jason will be over real fast.
Right, Loretta. I once truly believed Lizzie and Jake/Jason belonged together. But, I quickly changed my mind once the devil took over her brain. What Lizzie is doing is sinful and unpardonable.
I have mixed feeling on this. Since its daytime the writers can take license with ANY storyline. Since Joss got one of his kidney’s I am not sure how they could explain that away….I want Liz to be whole again as well and am also wondering if Nik doesn’t know about this also which would explain his recent Cassadine like behavior. I am very concerned that Robin may know about this also which MAY speak to the comments being made about Anthony Geary’s exit story having far reaching effects? Jake died on Patrick’s watch so if she knows her relationship w Liz and Patrick may never be the same. I don’t want to upset the JASAM fans here but I think that ship has sailed. Sam has been in 2 serious relationships since Jason “died” and I am not sure they can get that magic back with Billy Miller playing Jason and I do like him in the part.
I think they’ve showed over and over that Sam’s never gotten over Jason…from her frantic to finding his ring, hesitating to move in with Patrick, expressions on her face riding on the back of ” Jake’s” bike, reminiscing about the Fourth of July with Jason…her connection to Michael for Jason…the list goes on and on.

People come back from the dead all of the time! Yes, it defies belief, yes it require an amazing suspension of disbelief but we’ve all been utilizing that suspension since we first saw Tadd Martin rise from the river of death.
Okay, someone coming back from dead, for soap writers should be like salt is to chefs– a little here and there-okay, but doing it all the time, it just ruins the dish. For me what gets ruin when soap writers relies on this device all the time or too much are all death scenes on soaps.
It is very difficult for me to get emotional involve in any death on a soap because I’ve seen too many characters who die come back to take it seriously. However there are some deaths soap writers have left alone and one of those has been children deaths. If they bring back this child from the dead, as a viewer I would have felt ripped off, that my emotional investment in that tragic story was all for naught, and henceforth any child’s death on a soap will be meaningless to me going forward.
One of the main reasons I watch a soap is to get emotionally involve with the characters. In the past when a beloved character died– I could cry, and go through the mourning with the other characters, now I just yawn at death scenes and funerals etc. The last death scene on this show that moved me was Edwards and Katherines on Y&R because I knew the actors who played had died and it would unlikely there will ever returned these characters from the dead with recasts.
I don’t know about you, but I really miss being able to cry during death and fall out on soaps. Death is very real and frankly there are times it should be just be treated seriously, and not a plot device that can be done and undone at will. Maybe for a Cassadine since their stories are not rooted in reality anyway, but not in this case. It sets a dangerous example, where other soaps might start killing off children just for a quick emotional story then a year later undo it and say they are alive—
No this one isn’t about being soap stupid for me if they bring this child back it will in my opinion be insulting to viewers and to the memory of story already told. Just because he didn’t write that story, Ron should respect that is was done and let it stay done.
Once again I agree with Harry. Though you make excellent, valid points, MarySF…frankly…any good news, in real lifr or soap land, is welcomed by me. I can go through the grief at the time the story is told…go through the emotions not knowing at the time the character will be brought back…and still feel thrilled if a favorite character or actor comes back. I wouldn’t expect or want it on a weekly prime time show…but, it’s a soap and both OLTL and GH take that poetic license…a lot. But I’d rather have a fav come back, or a child…coupled with interesting well written stories…good acting would be a plus. (the Lucky kidnapping/Luke exit has been so tacky, cheesy, implausible..the hit men were horrid actors…the scene between Lulu and Lucky, the brother she adores, hasn’t seen in ages and thought possibly dead…lasted about a minute. And then she went home. Just warmed my heart. Not) my point is, I’m fine with the returns…no matter..it’s all good…all subjective.
I’m glad they’re bringing little Jake back–there was no good reason to kill him in hte first place–talk about plot points and agenda driven. I’m so hoping seeing Jake will jolt Elizabeth back to reality and tell Jake who he is–and I want there to be a reasoable explantion for Nic putting a hit on Hayden.
Jake being alive will not interfere with the reconciliation of Sam and Jason–though if you think once they unite they’ll live happily ever after, you don’t know much about soaps. And for all this “they’re destiny or soulmates” Jason was ready to abandon Sam when he didn’t think Danny was his. We all seem to have forgotten those actions.
Speaking as someone who’s rooting for a Liz/Nic reunion–I am so tired of the Sam/Jason 4-ever fans rooting vs. any happiness for Elizabeth. And there’s still NO chemistry between BM & KeMo–I don’t care if they’re a real-life couple or not. They’re just flat.

Re_ Ron has taken all the talented actors they brought on, and wrote such stupid stories for them .No one watches any more. Forgot this 24 hours and Dante AKA Sonny Jr. jumps into bed with the pig who told tales on his wife because she wanted to sleep with him. Dante even did the deed in his marriage bed. Nine months guess we know what Re-Ron will write baby coming. I think all these resurrected characters are an apt metaphor for the show. Ron is trying to revive his dead show. Problem is, just like AJ, Duke and Frank Smith, he doesn’t know what to do with them once they come back from the grave!

I’ve wanted Jake to be brought back for a long time, so I’d be very happy to see this happen. He never should have been killed off in the first place. Since people have been brought back from being frozen after being thought dead, Jake being brought back doesn’t seem that implausible to me in terms of soap themes, however they explain it. I’m just happy to see Elizabeth and Jason have their son back. I love both characters and would like to see this happen. I also think young Jake is a great character and his presence opens up numerous story possibilities. It would be nice to see Cameron, Aiden and Jake together as well.
It would vindicate Luke and help resolve a storyline that most fans didn’t like. It’s a great way to send him off and breathe more life into the ongoing saga of Jason and Elizabeth. It’s her chance to raise her son with Jason, why not take it.
About young children dying on soaps I don’t have a problem with it as its a drama. There are some parents and loved ones who watched and could relate, and that’s what soaps do best.
Wait—Wasn’t little Jake kidnapped as a baby from the park? I think I remember Sam watching a young girl take the baby, but she didn’t do anything because she wanted to keep Jason away from Liz. So maybe the baby given back was not Jake, and was some other child who resembled him. Then that baby is the one who died, and real baby Jake was with someone else like Helena or Frank Smith or who knows who.
Although I am somewhat, if not completely, in the dark about little Jake’s backstory, I think your scenario has strong potential for a storyline. I really like your depiction of what could have happened to little Jake, Kathleen.

I’m so happy lil Jake is alive I always knew he was kidnapped n a dead boy with his face was the kid Elizabeth found at the side of the road I hope this keeps Elizabeth with jason there son Jake . Ty lucky for bringing yr son back to his momma
Please no more detours in getting Jason and Sam back together. Billy Miller and Kelly Monaco have something Billy Miller and Rebecca Herbst and/or Jason Thompson and Kelly Monaco doesn’t…chemistry. Steve Burton and Kelly Monaco were my favorite couple before SB left but I think the chemistry between Billy Miller and Kelly Monaco is even hotter.
PS. I can live with adults being brought back from the dead by writers but when the writers are cruel enough to kill off a child then the child should not be being held somewhere being raised by people they don’t know after some life altering trauma. Just bad.

I would love it if little Jake was really alive. Soaps bring back people all the time, so this would not be any different. I think this would cause Jason to be torn between Sam and Liz.

I would like nothing more than baby Jake back in Liz’s arms…and with that the realization that keeping Jason/Jake’s identity a secret is wrong. It pains me how they are always making her the bad guy!!! I get that Sam is the end game, but does she have to trounce all over Liz along the way?? TPTB are killing me here!
I may be done with GH with more rewritten history and resurrections. This plot device is overused in Port Charles to the point of nonsense. There is no emotional reward in it. I would rather deal with the fall out and the healing. That is drama. And why then can some chracters be dead and others not?
GH once was a stellar soap. For all the promise and joy of recalling past characters and updating past stories — and there has been much of that — the oft-employed back-from-the-dead trope and increasing crowded cast (which, for me, allows little opportunity for daily engagement) are making Port Charles a difficult place to spend time day to day anymore.
Have watched GH for years and never liked Elizabeth so to see her selfishness and lies come out would do my heart good. For me she isn’t just one of those characters you love to hate she just does not truly fit with anyone except Rick since they are two of a kind. It would be nice to see Jason and Sam turn into the next Luke and Laura since think about it they could start over with Danny and Jake if he is brought back and Elizabeth exposed. The new story line with Dante cheating on Lulu makes me want to vomit though.
How are they going to explain this storyline since Jake was brain dead and was an organ donor for Jocelyn?

I once read on a soap writers/producers blog/whichever don’t recall whom just what was said;
Soap stories are never ending they can continue on decades after to forever.
A long forgotten story or character can be brought back at anytime from the holding grave. (the holding grave, I liked that lol)
There is no history changing in a soap because stories are never ending.
The events in stories can be added to or taken away from, but forever ongoing..
I am recalling the words, they seem correct.
In general, I’m pretty much against this kind of resurrection. I think back-from-the-dead plots should be used very sparingly—like, once in a decade on any given soap.
Well, we’re not going to get that, clearly—on any of the remaining four soaps. Since that’s the case, and we’re stuck with this as a soap staple, then I don’t see why it shouldn’t go in this direction once in a while, at least—not bringing back some character I actually wished was really dead, but bringing back a character I thought should never have been killed off in the first place. I did not buy—not for a single minute—what they did to bring AJ back; the explanation made no sense. And I realized I did not care; I was glad to have AJ back, and what they did with him, at least initially, was interesting stuff. So if they want to bring Jake back, and the explanation stretches plausibility beyond the breaking point, well, that happens a lot lately—and at least this time, it will have a purpose that I can get behind.
That said, I agree with those above who have said (1) that it’s happening way too often on this particular show and is wrecking credibility even more than it normally does (whenever a soap does it), and (2) that the show does not seem to know what to do with resurrected characters (e.g., AJ, Duke) once it has resurrected them.
By the way, if Jake really is resurrected, dare I hope that we’ll actually get to see Monica?
No general hospital writers messed up because if you watch the episode again when jake died, he was on the operating table and Patrick and robin operated on him when he passed. Jason was watching through the window. So how are they going to explain this?
OK, I got it. Little Jake is a clone of big Jake (Jason). After all he was on Cassidine Island where all kinds of weird stuff happens. Sooo, what do you think? He does look a lot like the old Jason. It would explain how little Jake died and why he has no scars from the accident and kidney operation.
Yes, please, let this poor kid be alive and return him to his mother. I don’t care about Liz/Jason vs Liz/Sam ships. The death of Jake was stupid and horribly written and apparently meant to give everyone drama but Liz while they shipped her off-screen. That all failed so give her back her baby.

This whole big send off storyline for Tony has been a drag!! Really, Frank Smith? And now we have “another back from the dead” person/kid/baby coming back? It’s constant. Leave the dead people dead. We don’t need Jake — why? just to put him in a corner with Josselyn and Rocco and Danny. GH has their characters have kids and then they end up not even onscreen (and I don’t really care to watch them onscreen anyway).
I’m bored with all these stories right now. Trying to think of one that is capturing my attention? Hm.. nope.
How about the couldn’t-keep-it-in-my-pants, stupid Dunce-Dante; I-have-no-maternal-instincts-La-La Lulu; and at-last-someone-who-sees-past-my-teeth-Valkyrie Valerie, triangle, Ces? LOL.
Oh, CeeCee…This storyline absolutely sickens me. Even though Lulu was a real “lulu” of an irresponsible wife and mother, it’s still no excuse for her husband’s infidelity. Seeing the “Val-debeast” taking advantage of Dante’s inebriation and emotional vulnerabilities was utterly appalling….as was the way she wrapped her serpentine legs around his body like a vise….now that she’s taken a bite out of him, he’s trapped in her web of deceit for good, even if he’s too stupid to realize it yet! Me thinks “Val-Chops” is soon to be going all “Fatal Attraction” on him…she will NOT be ignored!!!! (Hmmm…reminds me of??? LOL….)

No, sweetie, she will not be ignored. There is always a dig, one way or another, distorted always…… B&B is the only soap I do not watch……never did. So, I never go on the site just to randomly pick on a regular poster and dissect his/her post for spite. Beside the fact, Shay….I cannot be bothered with old hags and Yentas who despise youth. I love the elderly…I do a lot of work for them….I detest old, jealous hagnags, who need to just push it a little farther. I find that so amusing… I am a happy person, considering my loss. As far as Valerie? I am starting to follow Harry’s premonitions, albeit I was feeling it too. Harry suggested that we may have a possible fatal attraction in Valerie. However, I doubt she can stand up to Glenn Close.LOL. It’s obvious that Dante has come down to earth where his senses seem to be somewhat restored. He is not happy with Lulu’s explanation, but I do think that he believes her. He realizes it was a bad judgment call on her part, compounded with the fact that he feels she chooses to follow her father’s/family’s dictates. Thus, bottom line? He wants to keep his little family alive and standing. Will Valerie accept this? Or, as Harry says, turn into a banshee, thirsting for blood? Quite a transformation, that!

@CeeCee….That “Valkyrie” label was an interesting choice…..although you would have no idea of this, way back when Spinelli was just a lonely cyber geek obsessing over the ladies of Port Charles, he gave many of them nicknames. Sam was “The Goddess,” Lulu, “The Blonde One,” Liz, “The Maternal One,” Maxie, of course, was “Maximista,” and Carly was termed “The Valkyrie,”—for obvious reasons! The “Jackal” also coined the famous “Stone Cold” for Jason and your favorite SonnyBoy, was nervously called “Mister Sir,” which always cracked me up!!!! There were numerous other monikers, as well. But those are the main ones that apply to current characters! There’s actually a webpage dedicated to all of these clever designations entitled “Spinelli’s Nicknames,” should you wish to check them out!!!! (It’s quite a list, although many refer to now-defunct players on the GH canvas.)

LOL. I call Valerie Valkyrie sarcastically,….as you know, Valkyries are virginal and beautiful; serving Odin. My paternal grandmother, who happens to be Norse, would tell us children so many mythological and folklore stories. The Valkyrie would capture my attention the most. This entity and her ilk, would lead a slain warrior, of her choice, on the long road to Valhalla. This was, of course, an honor for the worthy hero.
The idea is that Valerie is leading Dante to temptation and to the road of destruction….I thought it was an apropos caricature, when I wrote it. Then, again, my brain is always racing ahead of myself which makes me wrongly assume people know what the heck I’m talking about. That is what is so fantastic between me and Jude. We can read each other, always.
So, this thing with Valerie and Dante is not over. Dante is under the false impression that his explanation was enough to assuage or, rather, put to rest and truncate any sexual relationship in the future. But, we all know there are hot embers under Valerie’s ashes.
I will have to give a look-see at Spinelli’s list. Gee, Shay, he must have had a lot of time on his hands….LOL.
I would love to see Little Jake back. This will be a well needed twist to my favorite soap.
I can’t wait for Jake to come back! The powers that be should’ve never killed him off all those years ago in the first place! However, I’m definitely weary since this regime likes to bring back fan favorites that should’ve never been killed off (Duke; AJ) and then kill them a year or two down the road.
Come on! So Stupid! Really, let the dead stay dead! Liz is the worst! Such a whiney boring character who only gets a man by manipulation. I used to love her with Lucky, but after that she got really desperate.
Jasam is where it’s at! I am really looking forward to those two reconnecting and spending more time together. I just wish he would get to know his son Danny as his son (not Jake who is long dead).

i’m not sure how i feel about this, it does make for a good debate, but i don’t have it in me, so i did hate that they killed off little jake, so i guess i’ll skip criticizing this twist and just see how it plays out, but for real, I know that FV/RC are now the show runners and Head Writer and its their show to run, but they can’t undo everything the previous regime did, it just shows lack of respect and poor creativity from their part. I dislike the previous regime but not all their stuff was awful, Fv/RC might in the future be let go, and someone will then undo everything they ever did, so as they say what goes around come back around. just saying, but since i’m team liz and jason, i ll enjoy this new twist, granted it won’t make sense, to have lucky spend four years sharing little jake ghost only to then just drop him off to his mom and then disappear again , what is his explanation going to be? is he going to peruse his dream of being a singer and move to Nashville , hmmm, i wonder….
Lol…maybe they’ll recast Lucky. Though I love JJ…he’s amazing on NASHVILLE and as we all know is not coming back to GH. They’ve recast the part before…might its time for Lucky’s return….

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Brook Lynn and Chase Have Their Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties
On General Hospital, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) both were treated to Bachelorette and Bachelor parties to shake off any of those pre-wedding jitters. At The Savoy, the ladies have a touching and fun time with Brook Lynn.
The bride-to-be gives a speech to thank everyone for coming, while Lois lets everyone know to try the signature cocktail the “Brooklynn Chaser”, which gets everybody eventually and mostly, drunk.
When Tracy (Jane Elliot) questions Lois (Rena Sofer) as to why there is no music for the party, Lois realizes she forgot, and somehow, who does she call to the rescue? Spinelli (Bradford Anderson)! Saving the day, he winds up playing some tunes and later gets on the dance floor to ‘shake it off’ with the gals.

Lois makes a speech as the mother of the bride, and shares how proud she is of the woman Brook Lynn has become. Wedding games begin, including one of “hot potato” with a wedding bouquet.
When it’s time for the “Silly Poses” section of the party, Spinelli has now morphed from DJ to staff photographer taking memorable photos of the ladies to remember the evening by.

The best part of the event, was when Brook Lynn tries to get her grandmother Tracy out on the dance floor, which, at first, she refuses. After several of the guests bust a move, a tipsy Tracy joins the dance party after Joss mentions that if her grandmother Bobbie was here, she would dance. Tracy says “she agrees” and begins to cut a rug on the floor, much to the delight of the other women.

In the final moments, a tipsy Joss and Kristina (Kate Mansi) have a confrontation about Sonny, and Joss lets Kristina in more on Sonny’s behavior, which looks to have clued in Kristina a bit more as to how something is way off about her dad.

Across town at the Hatchett Bar, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and the men with the exception of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Jordan (Tanisha Harper), all attend Chase’s Bachelor Party where throwing hatchets into a dart board for supremacy is the order of the day. Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Ned (Wally Kurth) get into some words over ELQ, while Dante makes a toast to his police partner, Chase.

Suddenly Dex (Evan Hofer) shows up. Chase thanks Dex for coming, but Dex gets some dirty looks from other cops on the force. Dante gives Chase his present, which is a signed baseball by the Boston Red Sox.
Ned (Wally Kurth) makes a speech that although no one is good enough for his daughter, Brook Lynn, Chase has come closer than anyone has, so welcome to the family. Running in at the end is Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), who just left Brook Lynn’s party, and she toasts her singing partner, Chase, and to the great man that he is.

Cameron Mathison Previews New Game Show ‘Beat The Bridge’ (Promo)
As previously reported, Cameron Mathison (Drew, General Hospital) will be seen doing double duty this summer when he premieres in June as the host of Game Show Network’s Beat The Bridge.
Now, while Cameron will be the host with the most, that doesn’t mean he will stop playing GH’s Drew. In fact, Mathison taped the game show in 2023, so it will now air for the first time in 2024.
Taking to his Instagram this week, Cameron shared his enthusiasm and some new hosting snaps, sharing, “Our newest game show host reporting for duty😎 Head over to the Game Show Network YouTube channel for your first look at the show and don’t miss Beat The Bridge premiering this June! I can’t wait for you guys to see this!”

In Beat The Bridge, an enormous interactive bridge dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. As they play, each steps forward and puts money in their team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. Here’s the catch: the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one of its players back across before time expires.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nina Confronts Ava for Sabotaging Her Relationship With Sonny and Signs the Divorce Papers
Looks like Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Ava (Maura West) are back to be each other’s sworn enemy number one. By the end of the Monday, April 22nd episode of General Hospital, the women know where they stand with each other after Nina goes in on Ava accusing her of wanting Sonny (Maurice Benard) all to herself, while her marriage has been on the rocks.
In story, at Nina’s office, Ava shows up to see Nina and says she is sorry about what happened with Sonny and that he reacted the way he did, acknowledging that is was over the top, even for Sonny. Ava says she’ll smooth things over, but Nina says she now understands how manipulative and transparent Ava really is.
Given their horrible history, Nina goes in on Ava and how she should never have trusted her. Nina wants to know how long has Ava had this agenda dating all the way back to telling Nina to turn Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC. Ava says she never told her do to that, but Nina wants to know how long Ava has been playing her for a fool.

Ava says she moved in with Sonny to keep Avery safe and she wants to be on good terms with Avery’s father, Sonny. Nina thinks she likes being in Sonny’s inner circle. Ava tells Nina if she goes to him about her advising Nina to call the SEC on Carly and Drew, it won’t work. Sonny still considers Nina a traitor and he will think she’s lying because she’s so desperate to win him back. Ava says if Nina would stop blaming everyone else that maybe Sonny would respect her. Nina says “like he does you?” Ava says Sonny not only respects her, but he also counts on her.
From there, Ava launches into why she and Sonny understand each other, after all, Sonny is a powerful, turbulent, and sometimes violent man. She goes so far to say if Nina wanted someone to just sit by the fire with and play with their grandchildren, she’s got the wrong guy. Ava then talks about Mike from Nixon Falls (Sonny with amnesia) and how Sonny hid the darkest parts of himself from Nina back then, whereas with Ava they are the same similar creatures, so he doesn’t have to hide anything.

Nina wants to know just what Ava wants with Sonny? What is her end game? Ava responds that they understand each other, in ways she can’t with Sonny. Nina tells Ava she can go ahead and have it all and signs Sonny’s divorce papers. Ava walks out with the documents, while Nina in tears at her desk, takes off her wedding rings and has her assistant come in so she can messenger the rings back to Sonny’s address.
