Kelly Monaco & Billy Miller Deliver The Heartbreak As Sam Confesses To Drew That She Also Loves Jason!

On Friday’s episode of General Hospital, the moment finally came when Sam (Kelly Monaco), unable to deny her feelings for Jason (Steve Burton), and unable to continue to cover up her conflicted feelings to Drew (Billy Miller), leveled with her husband.

In key and pivotal scenes, both Kelly Monaco and Billy Miller via their touching performances, illustrated the heartache and devastation from two different perspectives.  Drew is blindsided that Sam has these feelings for Jason if she went ahead and married him.  He is also taken aback when Sam admits that she and Jason kissed on New Year’s Eve.

Sam tearfully explains that her feelings for Drew are real, their family with Scout is real, and that she loves him very much, but that she also loves Jason, and she’s lost herself in all of this, and needs to figure things out and wanted to be honest with him.  She couldn’t hide the situation from him anymore.

Drew says he thought what they had between them was enough, but clearly it isn’t, and his brother, Jason is now between them.  Hurt, Drew takes off his wedding ring and leaves, even though Sam begs him not to.  She is left crying on the floor and now must pick-up the pieces of her life.

So, what did you think of the performances of Kelly and Billy? What do you hope happens now? Drew and Sam patch things up and work things out? She reignites a relationship with Jason? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

I think Sam needs to reunite with her soulmate..Jason..

hi Christy ..
90% of divorced people married their soulmate …
Goes to show; there are no creatures as soulmates and if there were soulmates they do not have everlasting love 😉

Evidently, su000 you have never had a soulmate, who was your everlasting true love. I married my soulmate, when I was 16..I was married to him for 44 years, before he died..My grandparents were also soulmates, who were married 67 years…my parents 52 yrs before my father..They are still alot of people who are living that are soulmates and have true love. So whoever your 90% of divorced people didn’t know the definition of it..They couldn’t withstand the hardship along with the great ones..I’m not talking about abuse, cheaters, gays, couldn’t live their lifestyles, alcoholics, drug abuse.. These are the ones ho couldn’t make it..But don’t you dare compare the true soulmates to %!!!!

Su is a bitter jaded man who only enjoys watching misery and crime and violence on soaps. Thanks for sharing your happy stories of long lasting loves Donna! That is so nice and refreshing to hear!

Donna,
sorry you got upset by misundering what I wrote..
I said –Divorced– peoples, that would not be you.

(( most all marry their soulmate, and also many get ‘Divorced’ from their soulmates, therefore soulmate love is not forever or there would be no divorces of people that married their soul mates, again that is not you.

I agree, su…..soulmate or no, divorces are at a higher rate than staying married. Even soulmates break up and move on. Those of us that are fortunate enough to marry our soulmates and stay married? Well, more power to us.
Sadly, it is not always the case. So, my friend, I know exactly what your message is.
My parents have been married for almost forty years—-who knows why?? Even those couples who are completely in love, do divorce….for so many reasons.
You are right. If soulmates stayed together forevermore, then there would be nary a divorce.

Agree with you. And, when someone moves on and finds happiness, going back is unusually not successful. Same could find herself without either man.

When you find your sole mate..you should always follow your heart back to them. I found mine (Keith) and I can’t imagine life without him.
Sam and Jason should find their way back to each other.
Love Prayers and Healing Hugs

Drew and Sam will work this out and be stronger for it. They will start anew putting the past behind them Billy Miller & Kelly Monaco can portray any scene, any emotion given to them. GH has the best pairing on tv period. The fans of DreamGH have their backs always.

I don’t know Kathy. Drew may forgive Sam but I don’t. She had every and all opportunity to “search herself” before marrying Drew, including the endless meddling of Carly. But no, she breaks his heart anyway. Badly done, sam.

Well, Soaphound….you know how I feel….what did I say the other day? Oh, yeah. Sam wanted her cake and eat it too.
I do not ken loving two men, the same way, and desiring them with transporting passion, at the same time.
That’s how I love my husband….I cannot see myself doing what I do with him with any other guy. Period.
As I said….I’m sure this sort of “love” happens in real life—-fine line between love and what Sam feels…..Besides, how many other loves has she had before Jason? I do not know….
Poor, poor representation of a woman in love…..she’s a simpleton. That I can understand.
Why do writers do this to their characters?
Let’s hope Drew comes to his senses; remembers Kim ( whom I am not into so much), or falls for someone else. The best would be if Jason takes off for parts unknown and leaves Sam holding those loving “bed sheets” in homage to said soulmate?
What then? Will she go looking for Drew?

Great episode, I felt all the emotions and I cried all the way through! Bravo Kelly and Billy

This is a Dream angst storyline. Dream fans have a lot of heart and feelings tied up in it. The only way it can work for us is a Dream reunion full of all of the things we love about them. GH wouldn’t have ripped our hearts out if there wasn’t going to be a major payoff.

Killy were phenomenal. The scenes were truly heartbreaking. Really looking forward to Sam’s choice and the slow rebuild of the dream ship.

They will make it through this bumpy time.. They are the super couple of GH. They shine in every scene they are in..
Drew and Sam are each other soulmates. Based on the dialogue they will rebuild their relationship and move forward.
OJ relationship died in 2012.. GH isnt going to regress Sam and be the bottom of the barrel of who OJ cares about bec she was never #1 nor were his kids.. Time to move that guy along.
Drew and Sam true soulmates they are the only reason I watch GH. I tune into see the talented Kelly Monaco and Billy Miller.

Kelly & Billy have a rare chemistry. The are magnetic together on & off screen. They are the ONLY reason I continue to watch GH. They are amazing together.

I see it the other way–it’s Jason and Sam who have that magnetic, powerful, intense chemistry. Drew is the guy you eat crackers with in bed while Jason is the guy you go to bed with with no crackers.

I like both Jason and Drew but even though she has a past with Jason. He has always chose Carly and Sonny and always mistreated Sam over the years. I never saw the chemistry between them but she does have strong chemistry with Drew. Also how many times did he leave her to be with Elizabeth who knew that Danny was sam and Jason’s and still he would forgive everyone else but Sam go back and look. I did and seen it all on YouTube. but I think she has better chemistry with Drew being it Kelly Monaco and Billy Miller friends in real life not saying that she don’t like Steve Burton because I think they’re friends too but he’s married.

Kelly and Billy were phenomenal!!! I felt every bit of heartache and love and I know that they are not over. Sam has been struggling with her past vs her present. The fact that she was able to shut herself off from Jason but not Drew…the fact that she was more terrified to loose her life with Drew than regain a potential life with Jason speaks volumes. She has to close the door to her past to move forward with her future with Drew. And I truely believe she will choose him. Nothing can compare to the magic these two deliver onscreen! The chemistry is off the charts..be it love or angst…they are one of a kind!❤️

Great performances by both actors !
I think Drew is right to leave – FOR NOW !
My hope/wish is Sam will realize that she belongs with Drew (I love, love ,love them together).
She has two children to protect , Jason’s life style and job as Sonny’s mob enforcer don’t allow for that.

I agree, Lisa, but why can’t this silly woman realize it? Even Alexis, certainly no expert on love, knows Drew can give Sam and the kids a safer, more stable life. I am SO OVER this Jason mystique….I just don’t see it.

I agree Lisa.

The scenes were heartbreaking & gut wrenching performance by both of them. The pain from each of them was so hard to watch. Billy & Kelly delivered a stellar performance. This is the beginning of a new life, they will find their way back to each other. I am disappointed your blog didnt bring out how great these two were in how they portrayed their characters in these scenes. Emmy material for both

Kelly and Billy were awesome on Friday. They work so well off each other and seem so natural. You can’t manufacture chemistry like theirs. They both made you feel their love and their pain. Drew broke my heart. He loves his family so much and you could see Sam loves Drew but she is confused. But the way she was pleading with him to stay. I think that Dream will find their way back to each other. Sam will realize that Jason is her past and Drew is her future. I want to see them slowly rebuild their love and trust and family. And move forward together.

Billy Miller…outstanding! Kelly was ok! Found it strange that she needs to find herself and her husband has little to no memory of who he is!

Absolutely agree

Bama, to me Sam’s lofty protests over “finding herself” translates into finding per way back to Jason’s bedroom. Shame on her for hurting Drew. And I am so angry that Miss Carly will get the credit for bringing them back together on New Year’s. Talk about a double drag!

I don’t understand why it’s all about Drew’s feelings. Sam tells Jason, who had five years of his life ripped away, that she loves Drew and her life is with him, and Jason is all like stoic and accepting.
But when Sam finally confesses to Drew that she’s still in love with Jason he has a hissy fit. It seems to me that Jason is the bigger man here in more ways than one.

Finding herself? How old is she? She should have found herself a looong time ago….must run in the family, Soaphound. Her mother is still searching.

Oh my golly! I thought I was the only thinking that. That was a really weird line they gave her to say. How about that she needed time to sort through her feelings? It would have made much more sense.

the thing is… it’s almost like they are making it ” Sams ” fault… she doesn’t know who to choose. so she’s the “one” nutting up.

whereas.. you never really saw a fight between Jason and Drew. perhaps now ?

Jason… so robotic.. so agreeable… dag! does he even think? can we at least hear his thoughts ? his eyes do not mean that much…. yeah they can sear each others eyes forever and a day. he always leaves it up to Sam… whatever you want… i’ll take care of you… guess that’s the mob life style approach

he’s been gone / dead for 5 years… should that sink in @Sam. what if the mob had taken him out

hey : I got caught … in that Chinese restaurant .. complete with ornament.

she went scuba diving for her lover… am I correct ? she came up with his wedding band ?

She finds out she’s pregnant with their child

she doesn’t know if he’s alive or dead.. thereby keeping his being.. ALIVE

these things “sink” in… right?

i mean come on ? Drew doesn’t even know who he is ? he’s a committed father and husband. OK.. I get that. he must be a danged great lover too

I certainly – DO NOT – see the on screen chemistry that is touted so much… does being off screen “lovers” do any thing to HELP translate

NOT in this case. bwah bwah bwah… yeah… LOL immature antics. NOT

the end all be all prize… the golden goose.. of Steve Burton 3 year paycheck. KEEP HER

“She needs to find herself” THE WRITERS are giving Sam.. all the work.. and letting the guys off the hook. so either or can go their own way.. TILL Sam finds herself.. giving each guy an excuse to forget and move on.

will the writers pander to Sonny and Carly… THEY NEED good actors to carry them… and currently … that’s Mike and Nelle. God I wish to heck they were out that orbit. by pitching Jason and Sam… to forefront days of ole.. and these 4 act all that.. and the rest of the cast flounder… what a sad state of affairs

I LOVE @suOOOO line… below… “While Jaason sits and stares at Sam bwahaa.. ”

Sam state of hysteria… she’ll continue to snot nose and “weep” as she TRIES TO CULL from deep within… true meaning.

meanwhile… Drew has already walked out the door.. with ring plopped on the counter.

???? WHAT now will the writers move

Hi, Rodd,
Exactly!! ……albeit, I must say that I am fairly new to GH……new enough not to know Sam’s past “loves” anyway….
You guys know better…..nonetheless, I ask…..has Sam been in such “love” circumstances before?
From what I have read and through hearing her past history from Shay and others, Sam was never the symbol of “sticking” to one man……were all these men her soulmates? Did she need time to find herself?
It is a soap afterall, and I do put the onus on TPTB…..As I am accustomed to preach this litany, which you guys probably don’t want to hear …….yet, here it goes….
…….Jason came back in the form of Drew….yes, Sam welcomed him. However, how could she not know she was conversing, searching every nuance, kissing, touching, caressing and having sex with someone other than her soulmate? How does a woman forget the feel of her soulmate’s every whisper and touch….or body parts? Did she blame Drew’s utterances; his mumblings ( love my Billy) to his trauma? How about his lovemaking? His gestures? The command of his conversation, including phraseology? I can read my husband’s mind. The writers are doing Sam a disservice. They make her look like a bimbo….not knowing her own self; her mind.
I am no expert on men; only my husband……but, it goes without saying that every man is different and “loves” in his own “personal” way….
How long….how many men does it take for Sam to need looking within herself to find her true self? She better not look too deeply or for too long….she may not like what she finds.
Later, Rodd.

Bravo Patrick! here this story is going wrong is it’s all focused on Sam’s feelings–about her finding herself. Jason had five years ripped from his life while Drew has had a whole lifetime forgotten.
If anyone needs to find their selves it’s Drew. This story has to stop focusing on Sam because in so doing, they’re diminishing the real story which could actually be interesting.
Frankly, I could use a break from Sam, she’s just not that interesting to me. I would rather Drew and Jason focus on those lost years and on who they are.

WHOOPIE DANCE, WHOOPIE!!
I can hardly wait for Drew to rid himself of Sam ..
Sam is YUCK hard to tolerate and Drew needs a new life..

Sam and Jason can play married house while Drew lives adventures..

Drew is the better character and there are many drama adventure stories ahead for him..
While Jaason sits and stares at Sam bwahaa..

Married couples usually get backburned because they bore the bejesus outta people..

Jason and Sam will have another 3-4 weeks before becoming BLAH and they will be a rerun, just a rerun.. Having Sam and Jason together will be a yadda rerun..

Drew is the one with New, a lot of New and exciting stories once Sam is back with robot man..

And– Jason has no purpose.. The mob is gone and Sonny has no need for a mob enforcer or a hitman/killer..
Jason is zeroed out ..

GO DREW !! luvs !!

And—
I still standby ; Drew is the real Jason Quartermain ..
Helena worked her dark magic and she had Drew and she switched Jason and Drew when they were grown men..

maybe the switch was done when the mild mannered Jason had his accident and became a different harder man., Drew.

Jason is Drew and Drew is Jason..
the story rolls on …

You may have a point, su. Has that been resoved? Are we positive Jason is really Jason and not Drew.
Soooo, here we go again….why can’t Sam tell the difference? I said this before. I have an identical twin….yet, not so ‘identical’….our legs are shaped differently….our eye color is slightly different. Someone who knows us intimately….such as immediate family can tell us apart; especially a husband/wife.
And, let’s not forget smell. Everyone has his/her own smell. Sam can’t distinguish between the two?
Jason and Drew do have the same ‘programmed’ memories; so, yeah, su…..it is possible. Could the PTB have an ace up their sleeve?

Hey, su,
They’ve been BLAH since day one for me….I did not sense the vibe…. I only liked the flashbacks. I don’t know who lost the magic touch….Jason or Sam?
Then again, I did not get the vibe with Sam and Drew either. How was she with Sonny? LOL.

@ Timmm.
Hi, T,
I rarely disagree with you…Sam upfront? No way, my T. If she were upfront and honest, she should have told Drew about the kiss on the boat thst same night.
She knew she had mixed feelings and she shoukd have fessed up…..confessing to her inner struggle.
But, she chose not to tell Drew…..and Jason? ….with those crystal, icy eyes delving deep ….he’s everywhere Sam happens to be…..can the writers be more obvious? I would say ‘dog in the manger’, but, Jason does not strike me as such….I do like him…..I don’t really care if he’s coupled with Sam—-as long as Billy is not!…oopsies, I mean Drew.
I hope the situation is not reversed where Drew starts lurking in corners.

@CeeCeeGirl……Not only has the musical couples game gotten boring, but so has the endless debate and discussion regarding the Jason vs, Drew choice that Sam ultimately has to make…it really matters none to me, as I like both Steve Burton and Billy Miller…For me, the constant fanwars over these two actors and who should end up with Kelly’s character is absurd! I would simply like to see a good storyline come out of her decision, although I do have to say I am not pleased with the direction of Drew, regarding him having a son in Oscar or an ex-squeeze in Kim…adding these two to the mix of his personal history does nothing to increase his appeal as far as I’m concerned. I should prefer that he return to Liz if and when Sam ends up with Jason…they made a much better couple than the silly, contrived scenario with Dr. Kim would suggest. Besides, she needs to pair up with “Charlie!” Now that works for me! Lastly, since Sam seems to be in such a dither about her romantic loyalties, perhaps she should have a “dance-off” with her two amours….bring on Len and Bruno and they can have the last word upon with whom she is more “in step!” Hey, it’s a thought and would prove to be far more expedient than this convoluted tale of Sam being “Torn Between Two Lovers!”

Celia, at the risk of enraging Silly fans, er, I mean, Killy fans, as well as JaSam fans, I honestly don’t think Sam has been very compelling with anyone on GH.

@Harry,
Oh, boy, dear Harry….I think we’ve gone beyond taking risks, LOL….. we are all entitled to our opinion. ‘Tis human nature to remark on ‘things’ or characters.
However, as you can read, some are still very touchy when it coms to certain actors. Who cares? Right?! Keep on trekking, Harry….love your posts and you are missed when you ‘disappear’, HaHa.
So, as her co-conspirators ( Sonny, Carly, Jason and Drew, albeit I love Billy from here to Kingdom come), in the art of ennui, boredom, twiddling thumbs, and all that jazz, Sam is one of the blandest protagonist on soaps….and, I have watched one or two…..no talent except crying. She must practice in front of the mirror.

@Shay.
Len and Bruno? You must mean Tonioli…..oh, did you know that the spelling of that Italian surname does not jive? It would be Tognoli….but because the pronunciation does not ‘slide’ off the tongue easily for other languages, Bruno must have removed the ‘g’…..just a bit of trivia, LOL.
Hmmmmm….yes, the above could “train” Sam in the art of “dancing”with the twins. Wearing stilettos?

Ok, su….as much as I agree with you on soulmates not ever separating, I must disagree with you on boring, stale love, coming between couples.
I have been in love with my husband since I was six…..sounds weird, but true. We were married soon after College, while he was still in medical school.
In a couple of months we will celebrate our tenth anniversary…..we still feel the passion….no boredom…..we like each other…..he’s funny…..yet, I keep him on his toes…LOL. Not rvery couple fits your category.
My grandparents….all four of them are still alive….still married….still happy. And, if you knew my Scottish grandparents, you’s think twice about boredom….that word does not exist with those two…..especially when they bicker in their Scottish brogue……so entertaining; better than a movie!! HaHa.
I do agree about Sam, though……she is boring to me with both men. Most importantly, there us nothing endeering about her. She has a flat personality……

Kelly and Billy are phenomenal together and their chemistry is off the charts amazing! I respect the work of both and how I can feel each and every emotion. Kelly always brings me to tears. I feel her pain and her agony in this situation. One thing I feel has not been addressed is that Drew is still living with Jason’s memories so it’s kind of like he knows what they had. I’d love to see more of that perspective because I think Billy would knock that out of the park. As for Sam, I think she loves Drew and is comfortable with the life they have but she needs to address the fact that when she fell in love with Drew she thought he was Jason. There is so much soapy potential with this. I don’t believe it’s a clear cut story by any means. Let me be clear, I am a Kelly fan first and I love Billy’s work and their chemistry but just because I’m loving them doesn’t mean I’m not torn with where this story should go. Oh the possibilities!

“…I feel has not been addressed is that Drew is still living with Jason’s memories so it’s kind of like he knows what they had. I’d love to see more of that perspective ”

THIS , is very interesting.. because I agree… why have we not seen Drew.. at least having flashbacks… and the angst of knowing how much Jason and Drew LOVE each other.

doesn’t follow that ^^^^ your post isn’t addressed. he has to know some things

about Jason and Sam.

hi Patrick ..
Drew would have the memories but not the emotions to connect to the feelings..

Another thing you don’t see often, if at all, is that Sam admitted to Drew about her feelings for Jason, and about the confusion she was experiencing. Usually they drag this out forever. So I see this as brave of Sam because she has a lot to lose here as well. And Kelly has played it well.

I agree Rose, Sam was forward and upfront right after Drew got out of that cement fiasco and she told him right away. I was shocked!

I fell in love with Drew all over again yesterday and that is all due to the brilliance of Billy Miller. His quiet, subdued performance coupled with his breaking voice destroyed me. He has made Drew into a man most women dream of. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a man so completely in love with his wife on a soap before.

Kelly Monaco was exceptional portrayal of a woman who realised she had just brought on her own devastation. Interestingly, if she were afore to take a step back and see what we, the viewers, see she would realize that she has already made her choice, her reaction to Drew leaving proved it.

Sam’s interactions with Drew are spontaneous, genuine and spectacularly intimate – they are literally touch each other throughout the entirety of their scenes. In contrast, Sam’s interactions with Jason are stilted, uncomfortableand largely rely on stares from Sam and the ever present teary eyed looks from Jason. Sam actually flinched and cringed in the one kiss they’ve shared.

I am very much looking forward to watching Drew and Sam rebuild their life, love and marriage grim the ground up without the spectre of Drew’s brother hanging around their necks like an albatross.

hi Kelly ..
Yes! Drew is the man most women want, he is dream man.
I would have Billy/Drew over Steve/Jason a 100 times..

Drew has an awesome personality, Jason is Robot Man..
Drew has charm and he is so lovable and not owned by Sonny or Carly.
Drew is by far the better character and the better man..
The whole essence of Drew is a man from from many of a woman’s dreams 🙂

“…The whole essence of Drew is a man from from many of a woMAN’s dreams”

Oh,now I see. You are a Sad fan..As far as I know Michael Forman is Switzerland..You have to be, in order to be fair to both sides..

Okay, I’ll chime in. I agree Drew’s a dreamboat…and a genuinely good man. He was so kind to Franco during his meltdown, and he’s got Monica for a fan, too. I never got the obsession over Jason that Sonny, Carly, Spinelli, Robin, and I guess Sam share. But, to each their own.

Jason is Robot Man, Suoo? Well, a little bit of WD40 could take care of that.

Kelly – completely agree. What was natural is that she had made choice to be with Drew because she is actively IN love with him. What feels contrived is the confusion over Jason (it is okay to love him, she did for years) but that’s not being IN love and she hasn’t behaved that way with him since he returned or experienced or demonstrated this kind of heartbreak on being separated from him. I think this goes back to the theme the writers set initially “oroboros” — they will each need to consume their past before moving forward. Her, him, them. Hopefully, TPTB continue to keep these 2 paired up instead of resurrecting a tired formula that doesn’t work anymore.

“I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a man so completely in love with his wife on a soap before.”

Kelly, I am honestly wondering after reading that statement, when did you start watching soaps? Because I know soaps have been lackluster about romance and love for a long time now–but once upon a time we did have those elements in soaps.

35 years. Thanks for asking.

Go, JMER!

Yeah, JMER, that confused me too. I really do not feel the chemistry between Sam and Drew. They seem quite comfortable with each other but there’s no chemistry, no intensity. I think they’re so boring together.
I have seen a lot of soap couples who seem totally into each other and there was a smoldering passion and love. Think–Cliff and Nina, Jenny and Grey on AMC, Luke and Laura, Anna and Robert, Robert and Holly on GH, or Megan and Jake on OLTL. Drew and Sam are the Little League players. (JMO, of course).

Nancy,

The question was begging to be asked. I do believe it’s possible that many 80s fans have forgotten the power of Love in the Afternoon, but let me remind those that have, there are regular viewing parties on Twitter for those years and episodes online on YT. I wish those days had been eclipsed by now but instead soaps have devolved, sadly, when it comes to couples and romance and the 80s years have become ever more relevant especially with the women’s movement and Time’s Up.

Kelly and Billy were simply amazing. I cried all the way through it. My heart ached for both. I believe in their love story. After this I just can’t see her with Jason. He is her past and Drew is her future. I cannot wait to see how they make this right and rebuild their relationship on their own foundation.

Nadia, you are so right. How anyone could choose that statue over Drew simply amazes me.

the performances were great, but sam honey being in love w/ two men makes you not confuse, but selfish, your a hypocrite, you judge others but you need to take a good look in the mirror, now heres my advice, although you’ll have to convince both drew and jason, both have shown to be hard headed so it shouldn’t be to hard, but just become a polygamist, that way you can have both twins all to your selfish self. you already have kids w/ both, one can have you all to themselves one week and the other the following week, it is doable, this way drew can concentrate on running Aurora when he is not w/ you, and jason can enjoy you when he’s not out killing for sonny. Now go do your thing girl, you know you want too.

Aria, WHY didn’t she just take the time to “find herself” BEFORE hardheadedly marrying Drew and breaking his heart? It’s not like she wasn’t given the opportunity. I’m more than a little upset with her. I did sympathize before she married and reassured Drew endlessly that he was her life now. But now, she’s on her own.

So having a man you loved with all your heart come back to you and loving a man with all your heart that you’ve been living with in the present…and feeling confused and torn because you literally love both is selfish?

No. I’ts not.

Let me rephrase that, Aria; that might have come off too harsh. But “I” don’t think that’s selfish at all. Like, nothing to do with the definition of selfish. Just a complicated situation for all; including their children. One can’t help who they love or how many. This isn’t a situation Sam chose. And only time apart from both can allow for her heart and mind to figure out where she belongs. Who knows? If she realizes it’s Drew he may have moved on with Kim if HIS memories come back. Or, maybe he’ll remember the love he had for her but his love for Sam will be stronger, as will hers be stronger. Lots of possibilities but a good, romantic triangle that’s not based on infidelity but divided love.

I agree, Rebecca. As Jason told Sam, this is something which happened to all three of them. There’s no bad guys here.

I would love for sam and jason get back together but I know thats not going to happen. But I hope drew loosens up a bit. Hes too uptight about everything. Its a turn off actually. BUT in real life if kelly and billy are together. They look adorable and should come out and say it. But I am team jasam hahaha

Really appreciate your post! While I am a Drew fan, you were able to discuss this delicate subject with class. It is appreciated:-)

I firmly believe that Dream will get back together-take a look at Sonny and Carly!!!! How many times have they broken up and gotten back together? I rest my case!!! Jason is too busy following Carly around, and doing whatever she says!!!! Sam would be 4th down the line with Jason-behind Sonny,Carly, and Spinelli!!!!! Make that 5th place, because I forgot to include Michael!!! With Drew, she is first!!!!

Interesting you say that. Carson and Dream each have the main photo in the show’s intro.

Sam & Jason all the way!

I just can’t see Sam with Drew … Kelly and Steve are magical together. Drew needs to find someone who loves him for who he is , not someone Sam wished he was. Drew is not Jason, and deserves to be loved for the man he is , not a “body to fill the hole in Sam’s heart “ as she mourned the loss of her true love, Jason.

And I just can’t see Sam with Jason, the chemistry is no longer there and Kelly looks miserable in their scenes.

People grow and change and that’s exactly what Sam did. She has outgrown Jason.

Sam kind of looks miserable all of the time lately no matter whom she is with. If she’s not mumbling she’s crying.

She doesn’t love Drew for who she wishes he was because Jason is back. She loves Drew for who HE is AND loves Jason. Thus; dilemma.

Kelly and Billy were phenomenal…made me feel every minute of this break-up and really left me feeling devastated for Sam and Drew. My feelings are that Sam and Drew eventually find their way back to each other but not without a lot of drama coming from Jason and Drew’s memories. But as much as I loved Jasam, I love Dream so much more for different reasons. We will have to see how it plays out but Kelly and Billy really slayed those scenes and I just wanted to give both of them a hug. It was brutal but brilliantly played.

People unless you have watch GH since Steve Burton first came on ya’ll have no clue of the real Jason Morgan is. Sam destiny is with Jason they are both Quartermines. If Sam was really over Jason she would have not let things happen its called true love. She fell in love with Andrew Cain because she thought he was Jason Morgan. Jason Morgan is not a rebot he is a person just like Drew. Since the accident that AJ caused Jason has no emotion on his face but that don’t mean has no feelings and don’t care. People pay attention to the story line. Drew will regain his and wont remember Sam Scot all he is going to remember is Kim.

“… Drew will regain his and wont remember Sam Scot all he is going to remember is Kim. ”

“OH Happy Day ” when that happens.

so… does Drew even have any memories of being jake doe and when he fell in love with Liz ?

dag! I look at Liz and am in love, smitten, and am taken

what a life Drew has to look forward… Kim , Liz, … Kim, Liz… Liz and Kim.

NO SAM or NO CARLY how does that sound

HEAVEN

For a small city in upstate New York, Port Charles has the best plastic surgeons on earth.

Drew doesn’t slightly resemble his twin brother and appears 10 years younger.
Ava has no signs of burn damage from an injury less than a year old.
Julian’s Witness Protection Program surgery took 10 years off.
Maxie occasionally wears low cut dresses despite having multiple heart surgeries.

If I recall correctly, Roger Howarth insisted his version of Todd keep the facial scar.

@Steve….Conversely, they also have some of the worst when you consider that there are a number of over 60-aged grandmothers whose faces are pulled so tightly they cannot show any expression other than a permanent look of astonishment, not to mention all those botox-induced overinflated lips, frozen foreheads and pufferfish facades, as well as at least one set of breast implants that strongly resemble flotation devices! No need to name names…the results speak for themselves and are undeniable!

Bobbi, Monica, Ava…

@Timmmbo…..As Meatloaf said, “Two out of three ain’t bad!” The former ones are spot on…the latter may be true, but Ava’s not an “over 60-aged grandmother”….yet! However you nailed the right initial of said character with the capital “A!!!!” (Any guesses????)

@Timmm.
Maura West is natural…only in her 40’s, T……she has not had plastic surgery….and neither has Laura Wright, or Nancy Grahn….their skin looks normal, not stretched.
Shay…Hi, there, mia bella…..you think Nancy has had facial plastic surgery? She doesn’t look like she has. I must, also, add Michelle Stafford to the list of ‘natural’….and probably Genie Francis.
I may be wrong…..if these women did go under the knife? Well, it was expertly done….there’s so much stretching skin can take, LOL.

@CeeCee…Quite frankly, I believe all of the aforementioned have had work done….it’s just the degrees that differ. Given I do not constantly tune in on a daily basis, I think that I may notice these things a bit more than those who have been gradually conditioned to view these actresses appearances as they “evolve.” Some change their hair in a subtle way to throw off the audience to their procedures, so it’s a trick of the eye to focus on that as opposed to their facial rejeuvenation attempts. If you look at the past few years of footage with Laura, Genie and Maura, you can see they have made some minor tweaks to look more refined and youthful, but it’s nothing that has impeded their abilities to act or emote, per se, so unless one is really looking for them, then they will not be noticeable. To me, Stafford has always had a “waxy” look which would indicate, at the very least, the copious use of fillers. As for NLG, one must remember she is 62….of course she has had work done! All one need do is reference scenes from a year back or more….her jawline is much more taut and pronounced now, as is her entire face….her forehead is pretty much immobile and she has those telltale botox eyes. Perhaps even her affected mode of speech has something to do with lip treatments….but yes, she has had a massive amount of plastic surgery, and one needn’t take my word for it….a little research proves it!

I wish Suoo would contribute to this conversation because she’s well versed on the subject of plastic surgery (I think she mentioned her father is a plastic surgeon?). Here’s the one thing I know for sure–if an over forty actress has had some work done and it was done well you will not see evidence of it. It’s the botched plastic surgery of which you take note of.
If you see an over fifty actress on your screen and you find yourself thinking,”She looks amazing and she still looks like herself,” chances are that she’s had some work done by a very skilled plastic surgeon. It’s got to be rough aging in this industry and it seems to me actresses of a certain age are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. I cannot even imagine how hard this must be for them. The public can be brutal to aging actresses and I think I know why. Subconsciously, they see themselves in that aging actor or actress. They take solace in discovering an actor/actress who remains untouched by the ravages of time because it might suggest they too, are impervious to the ravages of time. This is somewhat comforting. I often find it startling to read online of someone remarking on a an actor’s appearance after not seeing him or her for a period of time. They will say something like,”Boy so and so has aged so badly.” NO, they just aged. Or worse yet,”What happened to so and so’s face?” Nothing! It’s called getting older and yes, it can happen to the best of us. It’s kind of depressing and one reason why I will not attend high school reunions.

It’s amazing how a funny post about plastic surgery on the show…NOT about the actors in REAL life…but the humorous ” miraculous” plastic surgery that gives Jason’s identical twin a complete makeover whicresults in a Billy Miller face or the french fried Ava who doesn’t have a crinkle left… turnsonce again, into an analysis of Nancy Graham’s age and looks. There MUST be a medication to curb this poster’s obsession with this actress which transcends topic or even show. Kevin? Andre? Any recommendations?

Keep Sam with Drew…

hi Jimh ..
Nooooooo!!
set Drew free!!!!

Married couples shrivel up to blah and they rarely get the upfront stories, the adventure intriguing stories do not go to married couple..

Drew , alone , has many upfront adventurous stories ahead..
Sam and Jason can be happly married and doing much of nothing..

Sam and Jason will be and are the same old rerun..
Just another of ‘what once was’ being rerun again, yawn..

FREE DREW!! let him rock !! He is New / not a rerun..

But Drew is the real Jason…

Drew should have seen this coming from 666 miles away. Sam only loved him because she thought he WAS Jason. It was inevitable that she would figure that out, finally.

Of course he did ask the one relevant question… “So why the Hell did you marry me”.

So where does Drew go next? Does he somehow get his own memories back and get back with Kim Nero? Or does Liz finally free herself of Frodd once and for all, and get what she really wants… a “Jason” all for her very own self.

Well… at least until Lucky gets back from Nashville…. but that’s a whole other thread.

Sam didn’t only love him because she thought he was Jason. Yes; originally she thought he was Jason and so her feelings were just a continuum. But it was obvious to her and Sonny, Carly, Spinelli, Michael, that he wasn’t the same. Yes, they believed he was Jason but they thought he had somehow changed. He wasn’t the same friend that they remembered; both Carly and Sonny said that way before they found out the truth. He didn’t come to visit them as much, Carly didn’t feel the same connection, Drew wanted out of the “business” and both Sonny and Carly lamented that the “old” Jason wouldn’t have wanted that. In fact, they’d have liked him to have stepped in so Sonny could step down.

Sam saw the changes, too. She was surprised at first that he wanted to start a new life, work together in publishing instead of lead a criminal life. She questioned it, she asked him if he was sure..and then she was on board and ecstatic that they were both free of the danger. She saw how much more attention he paid to Monica; Monica saw that, too.

My point? Sam loves him for who he is; not because he acts, sounds, looks like Jason. Because he doesn’t act, sound or look like Jason. She fell in love with Drew (even while thinking he was a changed Jason). She fell in love with his more spontaneous personality, his affection, his placing prority on her and not on Carly and Sonny. You could see the laughter, affection, attraction between them. You can see the devastation Sam felt when Drew was in a coma; his for her when she was sick from the exposure she suffered while pregnant.

I’m not sure which way this story will go in the end. I truly believe she loves both men and is torn. Because Drew has yet to find out about his past, who he possibly loved (kim?) that, of course, will be part of the story.

Personally? I don’t get how a woman with three children would EVER want to go back to a man who still chooses to stick with the mob, do Sonny’s bidding and be Carly’s lapdog. Sam has a much better life with Drew. And, yeah, I get it. There are Jason/Sam fans who want her back as motorcycle mama, LOL, but ya know what? Drew rides a bike, too. She can have the best of both worlds.

With that, I love both characters. Jason just has the IT factor and he and Sam just feel so right together. Perhaps that more for those of us who watched GH when they were a couple. But then I look at Drew/Sam and while not the same, I like them together. There’s just something warm, welcoming about them as a couple.

Looking forward to the story. Oh. And Franco. Cousin Franco. LOL…I HOPE he and Drew become besties again like Andy and Bobby. That’s not gonna fly with Jason and Sam…

Well, of course the “everybody thought NuJason had changed” thing was a plot revision which was only wrote into the scripts when TIIC knew Steve Burton was coming back. Had Steve not returned, they probably all would have continued to believe Drew was “Jason” and found other ways to justify his sudden desires to be a suit at a media company, rather than his old self.

Hell, even as Drew THAT decision doesn’t really make much sense – unless you think it’s some genetic Quartermaine business thing. He certainly wasn’t raised with the Quartermaine mindset. (Jason was, but AJ knocked that right out of his head)

Some of the things Drew did while he thought he was Jason probably came from his SEAL training – like the time he managed to fly an airplane (something Jason never learned, obviously). Drew retained that subconsciously, much like his brother retained enough of his medical skills to do a tracheotomy in the train wreck and deliver a baby by C-section in a GH elevator. So when Drew inevitably gets his brain re-mapped with his own data, who knows what will remain of his life since he arrived in Port Charles as a mute thawed out popsicle.

As for Frodd… enough already. Best thing that could happen with him is that he murders Jim Harvey (who certainly has it coming) and then goes to prison for it. Or even a padded cell, just as long as he’s gone.

First: I get that you don’t like “Frodd” LOL…but I THINK you know I will continue to ribbet his name from every lilypad there is in support. Hand’s off; he’s here to stay!

As for Jason=Drew no more. I didn’t say people stopped “believing” Drew was Jason before Steve Burton came back. I said even though they DIDN’T DOUBT he was the real Jason..they still noticed he had changed! And their relationships weren’t the same. So even if Burton didn’t revise the roll, they had no intention of using Billy Miller to be “Stone Cold” as we remember. He was never devoid of emotion; just lacking memory, even when he was living as “Jake” with Elizabeth. Had he gone on to continue being Jason, he still would have been a different version. Not because Billy Miller couldn’t play the role the same way (perhaps he could; we’ll never know…although Jason is such a well-defined character which Burton brilliantly crafted in my opinion. Some fans feel he can’t act; I’ve always felt he acted with such purposely contained emotion and such expression in his eyes that he brought an emotionally repressed character to vibrant life in a muted way. He embodied the man robbed of expression and yet conveyed much of it at the same time!

Billy’s version, even if at the beginning was MEANT to be the “real” Jason, was still a man who wore his heart on his sleeve, who showed when he was lost, confused, disappointed, in love, etc. He was expressive in many ways, he was distant with Sonny and Carly (though loyal, he didn’t display the same desperate need to be at their beck and call, he didn’t show the same bond with them, he and Michael barely spoke. He sought out Monica; he sat in her living room and let her tell him the story of his life. He showed affection toward her. He wasn’t acting very Jason-esque.

It continued long after he “thought” he got his memories back and settled in to being Jason (again, before Burton decided to come back). Still, all felt that Jason had returned, but was a changed man. I repeat, Carly and Sonny noticed it and discussed it several times. BEFORE Burton decided to revise the role. You could see Sam saw differences, too…how he related (or didn’t) to Carly, how he wasn’t as obsessed with the business, etc. How he almost bounced around instead of quietly being.

My point is couples get divorced all the time. Even those who thought they had found their one, true love. So, if Billy Miller’s Jason was NOT exactly as Sam remembered, and she started loving him less, or seemed to be staying out of habit, we would have noticed. But she continued loving “new” Jason as he was..even though he was more demonstrative, more attentive, less “Sonny/Carly” centric. She was loving the new version. She was happy with the new version. They didn’t live the “outlaw” life and she was happy. He was more settled and she was happy. She fell in love with who she thought he had become after he “came back from the dead”…not the carbon copy of how he was before he left…

Which leads me to believe she loves the man he is. Not a Jason wannabee or clone; a different man with a different personality who she was blissfully happy with.

And…she loves Jason, too.

Yes; I think/hope that Fro…I mean FRANCO…will get his revenge on Harvey. But I hope he’s hailed as a hero this time.

I just wish the story would stop focusing on Sam’s feelings. The real person who needs to find themselves is Drew. But instead of taking that backward journey into his past, he’s there to help Franco discover his past.
Rebecca, what I resent about Franco is that everyone around them tends to forget their own identities, their own issues, in their efforts to help and redeem Franco. All of the writing afforded to Franco has been predicated upon damage control and it’s come at the expense of Lizzy and Drew as far as character development/identity is concerned.

Harry; a soap is about characters. Period. The “people”…their lives, their journeys, their problems, joys, loves, etc.

Franco is not a cookie-cutter character. No characters in soap land have “normal” lives; it’s just a matter of degree.

No one is “forgetting his/her own identities” to help Franco. Liz (who’s had her own share of crazy…she and like six other characters have been “residents” at Shadybrook, fell in love with him. They’re great together. Since I’m writing this after yesterday’s episode she did decide that he needed to find what he’s looking for before she can be with him. But she never “lost” herself; fact is, she seemed happy in love for the first time in a long time.

Drew isn’t trying to “help” Franco discover “his” past. THEY were close as children and like it or not, their history is tied together. Drew was cast out from the only home he ever knew as a child, pulled away from a mom he possibly loved (Betsy) and Franco who it seems he DID love. All we see now is Drew’s sense of protectiveness over Franco which probably ties back to their childhood past. I love the story and I love their growing closeness. I hope it lasts.

Many keep complaining about characters being “redeemed.” If we didn’t “redeem” most of the characters on GH the cast would consist of newborns who haven’t yet had the chance to screw up.

Harry; I wish there was an “edit” button. In rereading what I wrote to you I don’t want you to misinterpret when I said “Period.” As if I was schooling you and shutting you down. Delete that word and I hope you get what I was trying to say…

that soaps are about people (and their journeys, conflicts, loves, relationships, families, etc) So I don’t see a troubled character like Franco “taking away from Liz or Drew’s stories, development, etc but rather stories about the relationships between these people, how they intersect and effect each other. At this point they are part of each other’s stories. As with every character/story, you either like the direction or you don’t. I do to both.

Sam needs to come to terms that the reason she is so upset is because she’s only in lover with one brother, Jason. The guilt she feels and pity for Drew is what’s killing her. It’s not that she’s in love with two men.

They are great together. Billy Miller goes not get the respect he deserves.

Loved the episode. Its like we have been waiting for it for a long time. Not sure why she had to do it the day he returned from his Franco adventure though, another day wouldn’t have been a big deal.

It truly feels like she loves 2 awesome men. I love her chemistry with Drew, but I love the history with Jason, their memories, adventures, and fun! Sam seems slightly bored in her “domestic safe” life.
I would like to see Drew find himself.

Great acting on both parts.

Team K-illy foreva.

Kelly just doesnt get enough credit! I believed her through her tears and pain she exhibited on her face that she was truly devastated in having to hurt Drew. She wants her old husband back and thats what you will get. I dont mind. Drew can go to Kim or maybe have a brotherly triangle with Liz!

I agree, T….Sam was sincere. She did believe what her heart communicated to Drew. The tears did not move me. No emotion….. perhaps this is all Kelly can give, I don’t know.
I was so proud of Drew…..she tore his heart to shreds….. he had a reason not remembering the feel of her, in every sense of the word. Dhe did not. Her memories are intact. She loved Jason, body and soul; yet, she did not remember his touch? C’mon…..the writers need to ‘insert’ some rationale and remember that the viewer is not an ignoramus.
What Sam is going through must be playing havoc with her feelings, I get it…..but, there are so many discrepancies with her ‘true’ feelings and “finding herself”.
I do believe we have had this conversation before. The writers are constantly scr**ing with reality…..I accept that and go with it. But, when some try to rationalize Sam’s situation; it just does not pass muster with me…’tis my nature. Also, my antipathy for Sam does get in the way, LOL. I admit it.
Yet, my T, you, yourself have, sort of, agreed with me when we discussed the parallels between Sam and Phyllis ( Y&) not “knowing” their husbands in the Biblical sense. How could they NOT tell? LOL…
Later, T.

Yes sweetie, from our fingers to our toes, you knows!

GH needs to stop this ridiculous back and forth. If Sam truly loves Jason as she states she does, then why does she need to “find herself”? I never knew she was lost. It’s really quite simple. When I go to the store and see two flavors of ice cream I want, I choose one and don’t say, “i want you both and i love you both but I can’t decide, I need to find myself first”. Just make your choice and live with the decision you make. Quite simply, own your own choices Sam. To be honest, if I had my choice, it would be Billy Miller – Drew Cain – all the way. Flippin’ gorgeous man, can communicate and is a good father. On the other side we have that person who can’t talk, mumbles through life, values violence and death over love and commitment and just thinks that if he stares at something long enough it will be his. There is nothing interesting about this man. NOTHING. That appendage must be exciting because he is a bore when he’s not doing the deed with Sam. I swear I catch up with sleep when he’s on the screen. In fact when the episode is devoted to him it works better than my sleep aids. I will give props to Kelly Monaco for her performance. She was truly stunning in her expressions. Billy Miller has perfect vulnerability and sensitivity. He never loses it but you feel every ounce of pain. This man emotes! And yeah did I mention what a man, what a man what a mighty good man he is? LOL…. okay. My vote is for Drew. But we all know that Sam will go for Mr Snoozeville. Then whine and moan about how he throws his family in to harms way all the time.

What a great Friday. Kelly and Billy delivered a Emmy worthy episode for next year. You could feel the pain that Drew was feeling. And he didn’t lash out at Sam. He didn’t swing at her or anything like that. I do hope that they stay together. Jason brings too much violence to Sam. And Drew and Kim have no chemistry. If they do break them up, maybe they can put Drew with Britt. Hmmmmm !. I also like the bonding that Drew and Franco had when they were kidnapped. But I’ll keep watching no matter what. GH is on Fire. Happy Anniversary.

God I love Billy Miller! So attractive and so talented. Frankly I have to honest, in the end I don’t care who he ends up with, I will always follow his storyline no matter what. It would be nice if he finds someone with no hang ups on any other man, that’s for sure.

^^^^ THATS – ALL – we need. just to see BM stretch his wings… deserve an
emmy nomination.

AND FLY. the writing is that bad… and bad casting choices… because he was Shakespearean SEXED OUT top draw… top shelf… whatever he’s doing we’re buying @Y&R. MAGIC… so we get to LOOK @. it’s not translating to any thing till the writers stop MILKING and BILKING the audience… the writers are that daft.. that this show is going to continue to bludgeon us till death do us part… WITH – JUST – Sonny and Carly and the three muskateers Jason / Drew/Sam

NO CAN DO

just do it NOW. MOVE ON

get something FRANK

I cringe when Sam is on, crying, as usual. If I am able to, I fast forward thru all of her scenes. I find the character extremely boring, always in crisis-yet, she speaks in a monotone. I like Billy Miller and I like Steve Burton-“Sam”less.

it’s kind of excruciating, isn’t it ? nails on a chalkboard… or simply.. just make her stop.

I DO NOT see – ANY – appeal… she’s two sticks with breasts and no mind. huh?

WHAT has happened to Billy Miller. if they are … – dating – on their own time… and BM doesn’t rub off on ya? WOAH. she’s still OUT . eyes glazed over… snotting… and slows down so much… her tiring act STILL

NEXT

Since I have never been able to stand Steve Burton I of course want Sam with Drew not only because they have good chemistry but because of the actual situation that’s being written….. which is Jasonis still stuck in the past beings attached to Sony’s hip as well as Carly’s being a hitman…. now there’s a guy you want for the father of your children….NOT!!! It’s the only time I ever like Jason is when Billy Miller was playing him he’s such a better actor he doesn’t have that blank stare all the time he actually has a personality……. I guess the story lines are supposed to make you feel something but I feel pissed off that she broke up with Drew….. how ungrateful can you get….. and another thing it’s okay that Jason’s part of the mob but not her father???? Hypocrisy!!!! I totally understand having an attraction to bad boys but that’s ridiculous I don’t think I want a killer as an example for my children…. and another thing I hate about Jason’s character it’s the way he treats Franco he’s so unforgiving…. Drew at least showed some compassion towards Franco understanding the probable injustice Franco may have had as a child….. please writers don’t make Sam go back with Jason he’s so boring even with a killer background… Steve Burton’s Blank Stare is just so ugly… I know too many caps but that’s auto type…..

Amazing

Nancy Lee Grahn’s Star-Studded ALS Fundraiser Reveals “I’ll Be There” Video Featuring Soap Opera Notables

Talk about your impressive line-up! It’s a soap fans dream and for a great cause. General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) is prepping her one-night only ALS fundraiser which will feature many of her friends and co-stars.

The benefit is set for May 4th in Glendale, California. Slated to participate are Genie Francis, Jane Elliot, Peter Bergman, Maurice Benard, Eileen Davidson, Thorsten Kaye, Michelle Stafford, Stephen Nichols, Rena Sofer, Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Claire Egan, Maura West, Kristina Wagner, Gregory Harrison, Trevor St. John, Kate Mansi, Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, and many others.

On Wednesday, Grahn took to her social media and released an “I’ll be there” video shout-out featuring, Monaco, Elliot, Bergman, Bernard, West, Harrison, St. John and more. In a touching and important moment in the new video, Michelle Strogny, who is battling ALS, is featured.

Photo: ABC

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

For information on Nancy’s event, including the stars who are s scheduled to participate click here. To purchase tickets to the event click here.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Photo: SPeaceIG

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Learns Britt Died and Tells Anna He Has Been Working For Cates Since November 2021

On the Tuesday, March 26th of General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and the viewers learn about where Jason (Steve Burton) has been for over two and half years. However, Jason gets some news of his own.

Anna is visiting Jason at the PCPD interrogation room. She asks him if he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which he flatly denies. Anna believes him, but she tells Jason it doesn’t matter, because video footage shows him on the roof at the time of the shooting

When talk turns to Jason not willing to speak without his lawyer present, Anna can’t grasp why Jason would instead spend an hour alone talking with John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

Photo: ABC

It is then that Anna brings up that John went by “Jagger” and that the two of them knew each other in high school. Jason doesn’t recall much of his time in high school following his brain injury, but then he gets furious realizing John knew about “Jason’s” past. That is when Jason slams the table and tells Anna, “I’ve been working for John Cates since November 2021.”

Next, Jason explains further that he has been working as an informant for the FBI. Anna wants to know how this came about and he tells her that after the tunnel collapsed, and he couldn’t make it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)… all of a sudden he sees Anna’s face drop.  Anna is the first person to tell him that Britt died and was murdered. She tells Jason the killer is in custody, but he continues to be shocked, overwhelmed with tears welling up in his eyes. Realizing he has to pivot to save his life, Jason continues telling Anna how he wound up working with John.

Jason explains that after the tunnel collapse in Greece, FBI agents grabbed him and placed him under arrest and took him to Quantico where he met John. At Quantico, John played a recording of RICO violations and offered Jason a deal if he agreed to be an informant against Pikeman, the illegal arms dealer.

Anna hears from Jason that he thinks Pikeman is selling illegal arms to anyone flagged by the NSA but has ties to the WSB which they needed a civilian to infiltrate their organization as a military soldier, a mercenary.

Jason tells Anna he was a part of the team brought into eliminate Sonny (Maurice Benard). Every time an attempt was made on Sonny’s life over the last two years, a different team was sent to do the job. Anna gets furious when she learns that John told Jason his job was to kill Sonny and she was with John at the warehouse that night. Jason ensured the sniper missed Sonny and left the rifle behind. However, they were supposed to meet an extraction team. Before he was shot, Dante saw it was Jason on the roof and when he turned around with his hands over his head, Dante was shot by the other guy. Jason says if Dante dies, he’ll be charged with capital murder and then will be useless to the FBI.

Photo: ABC

Meanwhile, John visits Bobbie’s and runs into Carly (Laura Wright). She learns Jason is in custody and is going to head to the PCPD. Before she does, Carly has some words with Cates when she learns not only does John have a vendetta against Sonny, but Jason too.  Carly tells John he should recuse himself from the case.

So, what did you think about the moment when Jason learned Britt died? What do you think of Jason’s return storyline thus far and what we learned about Jagger/Jason and more? Comment below. But first, check out a moment from today’s GH with Jason and Anna.
