GENERAL HOSPITAL: Lulu Overboard, Kiki and Nathan Shot, Morgan Unravels, But Julexis Ties The Knot!

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

Julexis fans here is the good news … your favorite couple officially said their, “I do’s” thus tying the knot.

The bad news … a pissed off Dixon (Troy Ruptash) has made his way to the church just as the ceremony ended to hold everyone hostage, because a manic Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) ruined his arms deal going through Pier 54 just minutes ago!

But it seems there are several potential casualities here.  First on the Haunted Star, Raj sees Morgan get in the way of the arms deal from the boat.   He realizes the deal has gone south. so he tosses his hostage Lulu (Emme Rylan) into the water, where she is trying not to drown.  Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) is now on the boat searching for her.  While Lulu is under water, she recalls tender moments from Lante’s relationship.

Morgan after interfering with the arms deal is about to be shot by Dixon, but Kiki (Hayley Erin), who has made her way to Pier 54, happens upon the scene and is shot instead!  Carly (Laura Wright) and Michael (Chad Duell) finally end up at the pier and try to calm Morgan down, while Carly tends to Kiki’s wounds until an ambulance gets there.  But how long does it take an ambulance to show up in an emergency in Port Charles?  The young woman could be dead by now!

Back at the church, Sonny (Maurice Benard) offers Dixon a getaway car, two million dollars and more to leave everyone unharmed.  Sonny also offers himself as a hostage.  It must also be noted that Dixon called out Ava (Maura West) for working a deal with Paul (Richard Burgi) against him.  Ava denies she has anything to do with the situation. Nathan (Ryan Paevey) is also shot when trying to go into police mode inside the church.   Dixon only allows Maxie (Kirsten Storms) to tend to him while he is bleeding on the church floor.

At the PCPD, Morgan is unglued and placde under arrest as Michael tries to ensure Morgan does not get himself into any further hot water.

So, what did you think of Lulu going overboard, Kiki and Nathan being shot, and an unhinged Morgan? Were you glad Julexis tied the knot?  What did you think of the performance of Bryan Craig throughout the episode? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

This was the worst episode ever. Cheesy to the max, ridiculous developments.

OMG yes…can some please explain why Lulu was immediately unable to swim? So dumb! Her hands were tied the whole time he had her then when he throws her overboard he unties her and now she can’t swim? so so dumb. And all those guys in the church and no one was able to over power that skinny little guy except Sonny. Terrible episode. Terrible. I know that it’s just a TV show, but it made my eyes and ears bleed. OH…and LOVE that the police just left several crates full of semi automatic weapons unattended so that Carly could have a breakdown and throw them in the harbor. Seriously…were the writers drunk when they wrote this episode? And I loved that Alexis blurted out that Sonny’s daughter was in the room. I’m in awe of how dumb that episode was. Oh how I long for the 90’s again when GH was so great.

Hey Jamie…OMG is RIGHT!!!!! Also, remember when Carly tore that yellow police tape right off??? I tell ya’…only on a soap…LOL!!!!! Yep.

It was because of the frigid waters.

Lol Jamie. EVERYTHING you said and more. Most cops I’ve known even off duty usually took their gun, even if they strapped it to their sock. And to make it worse, Nathan can’t even contain him from behind? And Lulu’s hands were freed, yet she waited a bit to pull the tape off her mouth. Cheesy was exactly right. How do the writers not see this. Maybe their master plan is hidden inJulian’s strategy to sink CRIMSON. Let the show fail….

I agree!

I have said..
Jean and Shelly can not write high drama, they are couples writers..
GH has always been high impact drama along with its couple, but J&S will never deliver high drama..
I’d bet– Guza is laughing his azz off, ahaaa!

It was totally rushed…. not much connecting… thrown together action for Feb sweeps..
Honest… the storytelling was a mess, a big mess..
The acting was superb ..

Again; Jean and Shelly are a horrible match for GH, not the correct writers for GH..
We just witness how they write hard drana= fail …

this was a great show well done, can’t wait to see what happens

And the cops/task force–whatever–left the guns on the pier so that Carly could pitch them into the water (child’s swimming pool, is what it looked like–lol!)?????
Say it isn’t so!!!

Yeah, anyone else would be arrested for tampering with evidence. And the dumb task force leaving the scene unprotected. And a pier full of task force agents and cops who don’t know how to do CPR on Kiki?

I think this episode was horrible, from the script to the acting….I know everyone wants a faster storyline but this just sacrificed the quality of the usual good episodes that we usually experience and expect….boo….thumbs down for everything

What a bunch of lame dumb criminals for not patting down the son of Sonny Corinthos and checking for a weapon.

You’re right–they didn’t pat down Sonny–but they surely had the gun runnner “pat down” Kristina–while (almost!) exposing her breasts…Shameful, just shameful!

Lol…I was afraid of that too. I don’t thinl the actor was aware but I was thinking “oh no…please don’t let this be a Janet Jackson”. (In case you’re unaware her top came down while singing, if I remember, with Justin Timberlake.)

I thought it was a FANTASTIC episode, very well written and emotional Julexis counterbalanced with the unraveling at the Pier. I thought the performances were great and the level of tension kept up throughout. And, hey, at least they tied the knot BEFORE all hell broke loose at the Church!

TOTALLY AGREE…ONE OF THE BEST EPISODES SEEN IN A LONG TIME.

I SOO agree with you!!! I loved it all!!!

Alexis and Julian are the best couple so happy they’re married and the Morgan stuff was great as well!

I agree. Even better, Jason was not everyone’s “savior.” It’s nice that they are trying to create a third reality for him – one where people can take care of themselves and aren’t so needy around him. And, since people aren’t commenting on it – I thought the wedding party looked gorgeous. There were a couple of moments I thought Olivia’s dress might be falling off because the neckline was so low. But, other than that, everyone was beautiful.

Morgan, a raging, immature idiot, disarms three armed, professional criminals? More ridiculous writing. At least the criminals turned it around and disarmed him. I’m in the middle of streaming the episode now. I guess my wish that Morgan gets dumped into the water and is never seen or heard from again doesn’t come true. I don’t like to say negative things about actors because I know they are all trying their best, but since you ask… BC is NOT up to the task of this storyline. The writers should know that and give him stuff he can do well. He’s a good looking guy and a charmer. He should be a rakish young man in and out of romance and breaking hearts. He is still honing his craft and he does not yet have the emotional range to do bipolar justice. Just pouting and raging over and over again is not enough to carry the story.

M, well said. I agree

Hey, Melissa,
As yourself, Timmm has also said Craig was not equipped enough to take this role.
To me, he is very annoying, whiny. I liked him better at the beginning….more acceptable, and, more in character.
But, as the story hose, TPTB just had to make him jumb through hoops.

Jump

Story goes…correction

Now if he’d just jump off the GH rooftop and go splat, CeeCeeGirl!

Hi Melissa…It’s interesting how we all see different things. As I’ve mentioned I’m very immersed in this character and I think BC is doing a phenomenal job! And though I agree with you about his good looks and appeal, I actually think he excels in the dark, emotional scenes.

Yes, the clear split in opinion is really interesting. I guess we can all agree the character of Morgan, and how BC plays him, is a polarizing topic! I respect all opinions and its the difference in opinions that makes this forum fun to read and contribute to. (When the discussion is civil, of course!)

Agree. ..can spiral out of control and get nasty. Unfortunately I’ve been a partcioant in an ongoing feud here…ridiculous and defeats the purpose of posting. When one’s attacked..you can either react or ignore. I chose the former and I don’t recommend it. It then just goes back and forth…

Rebecca, Cee Cee and others–my vocab word of the week?
Impervious. Learn it, live ut, and love it.
And then make fun of yourselves.

Opps, not Kiki–I meant Nina. I like Kiki now.
Did anyone notice how Roger just blossomed while in scenes with Maura West?
Finally we saw just how good Roger and Maura can be.
I am thinking Stafford just doesn’t do it for Roger as he seems to phone it in with her. Maura West is a really good actress but since she came onto GH she has been forced to play a lip twitching, campy, cartoon character.
Maybe they can make both Franco and Ava human again. However, considering this require back pedaling and damage control writing, I am rather dubious as to whether they can right the wrongs afforded to these two characters.

I think all of us had an idea that what went down, actually did go down, albeit many of us hoped that the oversexed lovebirds’ wedding would go awry.
My question is: why is Carly so surprised Sonny lied to her? Really? How about once bitten ….and so on and so forth?
Please no more moments with Julian and Alexis….these two having an ordinary, adult conversation does not register or compute. I can only picture them in another, usual setting.

Ah, yes, CeeCeeGirl….Our great hopes were dashed when the wedding actually went down, eh? It would have been so much better and more dramatic if one or both of the bridal couple had been shot…..especially if it put (at the least) a temporary kibosh on the endless rounds of rutting that we just know are on the agenda for this sexually-obsessed twosome.

Carly, suddenly acting like the protective mother just rang false for me.
Does she forget that Sonny accidentally shot her in the head as she gave birth to Morgan? Or that Michael was shot in his father’s coffee warehouse by his father’s enemies? Or that Sonny murdered Michael’s REAL father in cold blood and then later screwed Morgan’s girl friend on top of his not yet cold body in the Quatermaine crypt? The list goes on and on.
Moreover, Carly had an affair with the man who orchestrated her son’s prison rape and would have married him had he not discovered she was cheating on him with Sonny.
I love Laura Wright–she is an amazing actress but it’s hard to buy Carly as the protective and ethical mother.

Updated from an earlier post:
I think that Morgan should be sent to a psychiatric facility because his character serves no legitimate purpose on the canvas. He is entitled, spoiled, and does not contribute anything to his family, friends, or society. He is the worst combination of his parents and he needs to be sent away, off-screen, to find a purpose-schooling, a job, perhaps? The acting makes me cringe. The only time that I began to like the character was when he wanted to care for Avery. I thought that Bryan had begun to learn more of the craft and that storyline gave Morgan a likeability.
Updated:
Let me get this straight, the inept PCPD and keystone cops think that yellow caution tape will deter people from crossing into a crime scene where a gun shipment appears to be left unguarded? Carly thinks nothing of walking up to a crime scene, easily tearing down caution tape, and then, has the “brains” to “dispose” of the evidence confiscated by the keystone cops into the harbor? Then, Carly appears to be shocked at her revelation that being married to and having a family with a mobster-probably not the best idea, as her bad decisions have proved reckless for her children’s lives.
Could Dante and Lulu have any less chemistry and be any more boring?
Seriously, I should have watched something else while at home for lunch.
Oh, and if the writers are really thinking of making Kiki paralyzed, they will need to recast the actress. The actress does not have the maturity level to play such a dramatic, heavy, serious storyline. Case in point: Kiki’s “drinking” storyline.

Great post, DMR

The mob part of the story was ridiculous and seemed rushed. My only hope is that they rushed it to move past the mob stories.

Well in Port Charles, residents usually only get a bullet to the shoulder.

Great stunt acting by Emme Rylan. Love that she is not a diva. 🙂

I agree. Emme did a fantastic job…..especially after she was pulled out by dufus Dante. She was great…..make-up people did a very realistic job.

BUT, the water in NYC is not that clear/clean!

@ Timmm.
Lol. But, they’re not in the city, Timmmy. Perhaps you’re confusing these waters with Orchard Beach? HaHa. Port Charles is between Buffalo and Niagara Falls, isn’t it?
My beach is crystal clear…luv-ya.

Oh hell, Lulu looked like a drowning muppet….failing that…she looked like a drowning Cabbage Patch doll.
I just laughed the whole time while Muppet Lulu kept gasping for air while her large and round muppet eyes looked on while under water.
Suddenly, Kermit the Frog (Dante) rescues Lulu.

I think Laura Wright did an outstanding job in today’s episode. I think Finola and Richard were great also. I’ll be glad when the “manic Morgan” story calms down. That story seems to have served its purpose. The kid hit his rock bottom, lives were changed forever, the big sting operation has gone down…time to move on now and I’m assuming the actor who portrays Morgan will be happy for a change and a new challenge. I imagine it takes a lot out of him emotionally and physically to keep up with the “manic Morgan” character also. He’s probably ready for a breather. As a viewer, I’m ready to see a calmer Morgan. I have enjoyed this week a lot. Any time GH is allowed to have several characters share the screen at the same time, I appreciate it. If every single cast member could have been in that church, I wouldn’t have minded at all. I miss the days when it was more common to see numerous cast members sharing the screen simultaneously.

Yes, I agree about Carly. I may not be a fan of Carly, but Laura’s performance is always impeccable; she is one of the few who deserves the most praise. She is high voltage, in my opinion.

Although I know opinion is divided I think Bryan Craig is doing an amazing job in this story line. I liked nearly everything about this episode. The highlight was Roger Howarth as Franco and the lowlight was the bad guy tossing Lullu in the water without binding her limbs as if the tape over her mouth could prevent her from swimming. Otherwise, no complaints and loads of praise. Long live GH!

Agree 100%. I think Bryan Craig is unfairly criticized by a lot of people. I personally think he’s done a great job since he’s been on the show, and especially during the bi-polar storyline. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some Emmy gold in his future.

I’m with you Mister Media. I love Morgan and as I mentionex in many posts I think Bryan Craig is great in the role. There are many who agree with us, apparently theg’re not vocal not on this site! Lol…it’s all good…

I actually liked the episode a lot! High stakes, lots of drama and intensity, and great acting all around. Morgan’s unraveling and bipolar disorder is a compelling story, and Bryan Craig is playing it to the hilt. Julexis finally getting married was a plus, and luckily neither one of them was harmed. And to be honest, I couldn’t care less if either Kiki or Nathan die. Heck, kill them both off! Bad actors, useless characters.

Yeah, now Julian and Alexis can consummate their marriage now!

Dixon can act but he has NO brains! Why the hell doesnt he have a getaway plan?

Hopefully Johnny Z will save Lulu and get her far away from the DOG!

Why couldnt it have been Moron! I’m digging the new Kiki!

That Nathan, he’s a whip!

Arrest Moron!

What a cheap, cheap wedding! Wil and Nancy did publicity on their wedding and they said it that GH was going all out! OUT OG BUSINESS!

Lets just bring Michael Easton aboard, set the snoozy Biller Miller free and get back to some hospital stories!

Ha! Timmm, my love. There’s nothing to consummate. That puppy lost its leash a loooog time ago.

Hah, “that puppy lost its leash a looooong time ago!” Classic, CeeCeeGirl! Just classic.

Oh, Timmm. By the by; do you think this is when we discover Kiki is Nina’s. The girl did lose a lot of blood. She may need a pint or two, no?
I mean, really!! This Kiki looks nothing like Ava in stature. While Kiki is as willowy as Nina. Look at them. LOL.

Your a whip! That is a good theory! Nina needs SOMEONE in her life!

Maybe a year (or more) ago, that revelation could have served to give Nina an actual purpose, CeeCee, but now the notion would be like beating a dead horse. Personally, I do see a likeness between this Kiki and Ava, the blondness, the sexy vibe and gutsy attitude…..not so much with Kristen Alderson, who would have made a credible Nina spawn (although I did comment that I also thought she strongly favored her Gran Delia in stature and facial features….) As I have previously mentioned, should any revisions be incurred upon Kiki’s true origins, it must be on her paternal side….Franco needs to be her bio-dad, meaning Heather Webber would be her grandmother. There is a real resemblance between Hayley Erin and a young Robin Mattson when she first hit Port Charles….check it out!

@Shay.
That was my last attempt, Shay-Shay. LOL. My idea failed miserably. However, I would love for Heather to be Kiki’s Gran. Imagine that! I just wonder ….how would Heather react? Is she capable of loving her own? I am not too familiar, except that I really enjoyed her antics.

Oh, CeeCeeGirl….I know you had your sweet heart set on Kiki belonging to Nina, and for quite awhile, I concurred with that being quite an obvious notion, but now I have a feeling that ship has already sailed….a missed opportunity filed under the heading “too little, too late?” Of course, I could be wrong, but seeing that Franco is still the one who seems most bonded to Kiki and he is looking for an out to his relationship with the clingy Nina, I cannot see how this development would advance the idea of them being this offbeat family unit. If the showrunners really want a fresh direction for both RoHo and Hayley Erin, then making her Heather’s granddaughter could be just the thing! Plus, it would be a kick for another round of Robin Mattson! Her Heather has been just too quiet to be credible!

Franco just doesn’t seem to be that into Nina.
He comes alive when interacting with Ava or even Lizzy.

Cee, seriously, I’m done with the Nina! I love Michelle but they have wrecked her and should write her off!

Yes, Timmm, because utmost in my mind is that God forbid Julian and Alexis are unable to consummate their tacky marriage pronto….I just hope the mood doesn’t grab them whilst still seated in those church pews….I’d put nothing past this overly-randy couple, no matter how distasteful or sacrilegious!!!! As for Johnny Z, it would have been superb to see him be the one to save Lulu and spirit her away from Port Charles and her cheating dog of a hubby….now we’re supposed to just forgive and forget his deplorable behavior and laud this stunade as a hero for fishing his wife out of the drink at the absolutely last minute possible? UGH! In terms of Michael Easton’s new character? Bring him on! GH needs a fresh storyline transfusion after this nauseating mob wedding debacle, STAT!

Well Shay, put nothing past those “Kids!” Oh, and GH. Sonny and Ava exchanged fluids at AJ’s grave site! Ah, little Avery!

Shay, dont laugh at me! Here goes. IF Brandon wanted to be on GH and they wanted Johnny Z to be a full time fixture, I have a plan. Do a story with Johnny in prison. Have him meet up with his twin brother he never knew of. Now wait, Brandon wont be playing his twin. Season 4 of American Idol. Do you watch? There was a contestant on there named  Constantine Maroulis. He had some success on that show and went on to do theater and recently popped up again on AI. He is a spittin image of Johnny Z AND Constantine can act! Lets do it!

OUT OF BUSINESS is right–and who ever would say those wedding “vows”??? No one on this planet.

Nancy, I could have sworn Julian said, “I take thee, cleavage.”

@Timmm….I am familiar with CM…..but not in a good way! Honestly, dear, I couldn’t stand him! Yes, he could sing, but he wasn’t nearly as too cool for school as he thought….I could never abide him playing JohnnyZ.’s bro! (Sonny’s, maybe, but not BB’s character, no matter the passing resemblance.) Sorry to shoot you down on that notion, Timmbo, but no, no, no to Constantine. As for the “newlyweds?” I would put absolutely nothing past them…they are every bit as uncouth as that unholy coupling of Ava and Sonny were in their “crypt tryst.”….Oh, speaking of Julian and Alexis, the only thing I want to see is for them to depart for an extended off-screen African safari honeymooni…..and if they should happen to meet their fate ala the notorious, storied “Lord Lucan,” well, I wouldn’t shed any tears!

Constantine was so weird but comical. He really is a cartoon BUT he can sing and he did have some success acting. I’m not in his fan club! He was way off my mind for years but he was recently on AI and stuck out. [Its those eyes!] Did you ever hear of “Key Parties?” In the 70’s swingers used to show up at these places, put their keys in a bowl and after some heavy “Petting”, you would fish keys out of the bowl and go home with whomever the keys belonged to. I see Julian and “Sexy Lexy” doing this after their honeymoon sex wears off! PS: Scotty Baldwin would be there!

Haven’t seen Wednesday’s epi yet but not reading anything about Paul’s arrival having any kind of affect on or reaction from Hayden???? Surely she gets full view of him and him of her so the Hayden= Susan theory is a no- go it appears…..unfortunately it seems Hayden will be vilified and written to be connected to a dud non-character like LA……hope there’s still a twist to come but the writers are dragging this on far too long……tell us the heck who she is and who’s lives are rocked with this revelation ……enough already!! Love RB so hope she will not be wasted in a dud SL……

The actor playing Morgan did a really good job with that scene because his character was annoying the “bleep” out of me.

Ok, penny….that actually does make sense. Lol. The question is: does someone with bipolar disorder act like a brat? Or; is a person with bipolar disorder have the wherewithal, the astuteness the ‘wily as a fox’ thing going on? I really do not know. I was intrigued by Morgan when he cajoled the nurse in untying him. Just a thought….
I suppose that’s why these patients are called bi-polar….two sides? Up one minute….acting normal. Down the next….going nuts? I am still not sure Morgan is doing a passable representation of such a patient. I assume that the writers get a lot of their info from Maurice.

It’s so interesting how reaction to one character can make or break a viewer. I’ve actually watched the past two episodes from beginning to end, the first episodes I’ve watched in their entirety in ages. They were interesting, well directed, good acting, well paced. But I’m ducking back out now — all because I can’t stand to watch Sonny. Nothing against Maurice Benard, I just don’t like the character. I feel like that character has been crammed down my throat, and I’m sorry, I can’t root for a mobster. It taints my view of the whole shoe and I don’t want to watch. I have exactly the same problem with Y&R. No matter how good it gets, I can’t stand Victor. He’s not a mobster, of course, but the way he treats his wife and children is repugnant to me. And the fact the writers continually have them crawl back to him is even more irritating. I’ve just had to stop watching. Maybe it’s just me, but I only experience that phenomenon in daytime, where one character can sink a whole show for me.

I hear you, sonniorsolita! All hail the amazing St. Sonny….hero of the hour! After his amazing feat in the church, I’m surprised he didn’t make it down to the piers in record time to walk on water and save Lulu!

“Walk on water”… I love it… That’s coming soon, no doubt!

Oh, man, sonniorsolita. I can appreciate what you’re saying, believe me. Except for a tiny little minute on the hospital roof, where Sonny perked me up, I cannot stomach him, as well.
And, the same goes for Victor Newman and Jack Abbott. I dislike these characters with a passion.
By the by? Your words are sacrosanct. Later.

Nothing would surprise me where “St. Sonny” is concerned, sonniorsolita! MB may be an absolute prince of a guy, but his character is so beyond redemption that I can’t bear the sight of him anymore…..nothing can normalize his lifestyle and justify that sort of existence, no matter how much sympathy the situations invented for him and his loved ones are intended to engender.

Agreed!

Oh, my gosh he’s been amazing. if you didn’t know any better you’d think it was really happening. EMMY worthy by far.

good grief..
GH has been so terribly boring stale for 6 months that any excitement would be welcomed and thought of as an exciting miracle… lol
but, not emmy worthy .. lol

Doris, what Sonny does is played out. There is no suspense. We already know what will happen. For him to get up from that wheelchair, and overpower someone’s so iffy to me. Element of surprise? Maybe!
The only one who sticks to my mind….and continues to be…..is Ava. Maura gives her best when in crisis. She is magnificent!!!!

Is so iffy

Great Episode!! 🙂

Same old mob BS. Everyone else gets caught in the quake – others gets shot, die, whatever – but the Corinthos clan continues. I wish the writers would fall in love with something other than the mob! Only thing that could have made this episode better was if Dixon had killed Morgan and then went to the chapel and shot Sonny in the head! BTW – Bryan Craig gave a great performance, but I do dislike his character. Not his fault, the writers write these characters the way TPTB want.

I don’t understand why after all this getting Sonny and Carly BACK together you are now going to have her doubt marrying Sonny because of the danger to her children….it has always been there and she still married him….what are you playing???? And Sonny may be a mobster but never hurt women or children and now they are planning on him beating Ava up when he finds out Morgan is Avery’s dad….come on – you have already tinted Liz, Nik and now Sonny….are you trying to tank the show????? Get it together and start writing good story line for the great actors that you have

Yes “tank the show” is right.

Say, haven’t we waited long enough for Genie Francis’ storyline–and reading of the will? And is that all the writers can think of for Genie? A crying shame, that’s what it is! BTW, how long has it been since we have seen Genie’s Laura? Must be almost 2 weeks. WHY??????????????

How right you are, Nancy. All we see is Laura behind doors, listening in. Please! Give Genie the respect due her.

Seeing a little bit more of Laura’s old spunk this year. I’m holding onto hope they’ll give her something empowering to play.

Adding to that, Nancy, we never were privy to Luke’s “Dear Angel” letter. Why does Nina get to run Crimson instead of Laura? Why does Alexis get to have a wedding instead of Laura? Why do these new and inferior characters who are about Laura’s age get all the stories while Laura is relegated to playing house mother to girls behaving badly?

Exactly, Carol. As I said, why was Carly so surprised that Sonny lied? She know him everywhichway. She should be prepared for anything.

I wonder what the point was of showing Laura eating a candy bar while she talked to Nicolas, considering her much publicized weight loss and dedication to Nutrisystem. If this was a product endorsement it seemed odd that Genie was shouldered with the task….

@Mister Media.
You’re good, Mister M. When I saw Genie eating the candy bar…I didn’t think anything of it. I figured she was hungry and probably grabbed whatever is available for the cast.
But, I went back and took a closer look. It does look like one of those ‘diet’ snacks…..more like a granola bar. And, I do think it is a product endorsement. You’re probably right. Night.

It really was a Snicker’s bar. I thought it was odd too.

I enjoyed start to finish.

Hey, Jane.
Have even read so many contradictions on one site? I am enjoying the comments more than I have the episode itself. So colorful ….ranging from extreme dislike and disgust to praise and enjoyment.

It was a very uneven two episodes, there were some really good moments, but there was a lot of lame moments.

Note to Nathan– you have been shot twice and both times in the same shoulder–dude invest in some protective shoulder pads ASAP.

BC– you might think you are playing mania, but it looked more like a two year old kid throwing tantrum— if you toned it down a bit it might come across as more believable.

Nina don’t pout your man doesn’t want to commit, you should thank your lucky stars Franco doesn’t want to marry you.

Dante are you part fish, a merrman perhaps? Lulu hits the water and is immediately unable to swim because it is so cold, and begins to drown but you dive right in and swim, save the damsel and get her back to the boat with barely getting your hair wet.

And Lulu, if you weren’t overcome by cold water but began drowning because you don’t know how to swim– get lessons, if you’re working on boat it might come in handy.

And lastly if you live in PC, avoid Pier 54 a lot of bad stuff happens there, if you are in the mood to fish, go to Pier 55– LOL.

…..and also…being in upstate NY…I think you would at least have some frozen ice….

And NIna would be making goo-goo eyes at Franco in this crisis?

I know. That’s what I’m saying, Nancy. Why, oh why did the writers do this to Michelle. I thought that for a minute, TPTB would turn Nina into a mature, creative ‘editor’ sans the nonsense of a puppy-eyed teen. Sad. Especially for myself….I adore her!!

So they tried to recreate the metro court incident that introduced Mister Craig (jerry jacks) without the real heat

Funny…I thought of the Metro Court hostage scene too. No comparison…that. takeover was excellent …and ugh, I cant even think of his name now but the actor (Jerry) showed his incredible acfing chops from that very start.

I hated that Metro Court scene because that was when that a hole Bob Guza decided to kill off Alan Quartermaine. That was the beginning of the end for the Q family.

Ugh. You’re right Harry. I forgot what happened to Alan. That was just as criminal as killing AJ…again. But it was extremely well acted and I liked how they all stuck together, in spite of their individual animosity as per Carly and Robin, against Jerry, their common enemy.

An epic fail in so many ways…

The world’s slowest ambulance. Raj holding a gun on Lulu but choosing to eliminate her by throwing her in the water (huh?!?!?). Anna’s flustered behavior at the Corinthos compound (seriously — the woman is a former WSB agent and she’s rattled by doofus Morgan’s antics? I don’t think so). Lucas being unable to find the rings and Molly having to suggest he check his pocket a second time played like awkward cliche filler it was. 3 day player cops showing up at the 8ft wide pier set and Dixon eluding them by sneaking between a couple of crates. Dixon managing to run from the pier to the church (which from the exterior looks to be in a wooded area suggesting an entirely different part of the city because why would Alexis get married in a church on the docks?). Dante’s pathetic texting (call me judgemental but using “u r” instead of “you are” does not look good on a grown man). Dixon being on the run and looking for a way out of the jam he was in yet taking time to get the names of his hostages (the payoff to the Brad Cooper “joke” wasn’t worth it). Carly and Michael just barging into a crime scene because you know, they’re Corinthos and therefore couldn’t possibly taint things for the CSI team. Nina not freaking out and impulsively rushing to Nathan’s side when he was shot.

But as bad as all that was I was especially disappointed that the priest didn’t read from 1 Corinthos (“And now these three remain: faith, hope, love — but the greatest of all is Sonny…”)

Love your comments!

This was the best episode in MONTHS. Commenters here always want romance, veterans, tight writing. These episodes had all of that: Romance– Alexis & Julian’s wedding. Veterans: Carly, Sonny, and yes, Morgan, the troubled Corinthos. Lucas, a legacy character — his storyline advanced. Two new Doctors — so, more hospital characters & stories.

I must admit,I was skeptical about the new writers, but they’re exceeding my expectations.

ok, so for me this dixon character is by far the worst villain GH has ever had, i don’t know the actor, but badly cast and his goons were so pathetic too, of course morgan takes the cake as most annoying character on the show, and carly whom i’m usually critical of, was tolerable till she started throwing the weapon in the water, it was a wtf moment for sure. the hostage situation was not bad, although sam trying to pass herself as sonny’s daughter was funny as hell, i couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Franco was a riot in this episode too. overall, i don’t know yet how to feel about GH two new headwriters, theres things they’ve fixed like giving Anna back her brain, RC had was totally trying to ruin Anna. I don’t care one way or the other about alexis and julian being together, to me he’s still a weasel, and he proved that during these episodes, it would of been great if he got shot and his life was on the balance instead of kiki, this way Anna could gloat a little bit. Oh by the way what happened to diane? wasn’t she at alexis wedding? Paul and Hayden where in the church together, so i take it she’s not Susan, like everyone was assuming, It looks like the show is trying to pair up Anna with Paul, i don’t know, i really don’t like them together, i don’t feel currenly they have any guy that would be a good match with anna.

I enjoyed the Franco scenes too.

Super cheap wedding, btw. GH couldn’t even be bothered to hire a few extras to fill up the church. Pathetic.

No flowers, either. No bows and ribbons on the pews? Cheap is right!

Oh, I love the actor playing the new villain.

I LOVED the show!!!!

Especially the Julexis wedding! They are my favorite daytime couple and the reason I watch GH …. It’s nice to have a couple where you can really see how they’re *it* for each other ❤️

Folks asked for hospital stories, now several characters are hospitalized. Bet they all will be released in 2 days, tho

Lol, Robbie.

I think that the writers could’ve came across more real. Like for at the church. Everyone heard the guy that was holding a gun on them stste that Ava was,the reason he was there. Yet again was she arrested????

Then Amna also knowing that the D.A. wasn’t as clean as he acts. This could’ve been written a little better than how it was.

Will we see anyone orher than who they’ve arrested for this crime.. Like Ava????

I’ve seen aliens, vampires and resurrections and said “Well, its a Soap!” Wednesday when the cartel crumbled and Carly goes back to pier 54 to vent about Sonny was the WORST scene I ever have seen on a soap! Why? The cartel is hauled off to jail, Sonny takes down Dixon and all you see in Carly’s scene is some crime tape and crates of high powered rifles that have not been confiscated nor are they being guarded! WHAT! So the ATF makes a major bust and the guns are left there so Carly can start lobbing them in the water! Those weapons are high powered killing machines and EVIDENCE! This was the worst scene I have EVER seen on a soap. [I had to repeat that!]

Right? I cannot believe those weapons were just left there. Seriously? The cops just up and left? How is this episode one of the best? What a whirlwind of an episode….weird beginning….weirder end.
This PCPD give all cops a bad name.

Yes! The shipment of weapons, upon which this whole entire story turned, were left unguarded on the public dock! I tried suspending my disbelief but my suspension cable snapped….

@Mr. Media.
Double LOL.

Great turn of phrase Mister Media!

Hi Timmm…
The one and only thing that saved that written mess was the terrific acting, by all..
If I were to ‘read’ that story/script I would have been closing the book..
It was a mess…
The head of cartel in a church at a wedding waving a gun around looking like a total idiot not having a plan and putting himself among both Sonny and Julian, well it was total stupid writing..
Also-
A shipment of guns on a dock that were not protected, not guarded, just left for the taking, was very bad writing.
The outing of Sonny walking was obvious, no suspense, knew without a doubt he would stand/walk at any moment..
I felt no suspense it was obvious what and how everything would happen- not putting me intriguely on the edge, knowing..

See Lulu struggle was cool, but she had full use of legs as they were kicking and kicking ahhh whatever, I knew without a doubt Dante would jump in and save her even though they dragged it out way too long with Lulu bobbing up and down..
3rd time down=dead lol

It was by far the most exciting eppi in 6 months of snooze and perhaps that is why many seen it as the best ever lol but in fact the story was empty, there was not much sense to it but there was action..
The dialog was silly lame for a supposedly high drama cartel scene..

Again– if reading it I would have been looking for all the missing parts.. It was messy.
The acting was top-notch and saved the day!!

Glad most had some excitement, it was a very long wait for its coming..
And it was the best episode since Nov..
A good effort from J&S and good for the sweeps…

Great post, SuzieQ.

Su00—you are actually almost sounding sane here.
I have never liked Ava. but always knew Maura West was an incredible talent.
The problem is that they nabbed Maura West and then they put the cart before the horse.
Hence, they put the actor before the actor and poor Maura was relegated to playing a comic book villain for whom no one could have any empathy.
Today and yesterday Maura West showed us doubters just how good she can be. She is truly a gifted actress and now get what all the fuss is about. Moreover. Roger Howarth seems to thrive while in scenes with her. OH what could have been! He barely phones it in when in scenes with Need ya (Stafford).

The acting was good but like someone said, the who story was based on the shipment and some azzhole could have lifted any of those guns and started shooting up a movie theater! DUMB! AND, the Haunted Star is docked, how close was Lulu to swimming to the dock or in hearing distance of DUMBNTE! DUMB II!

100 percent agree with you! Laughable scene beyond insulting to viewers.

Thats just it Melissa, we say time and time again, “Its only a Soap” and thats fine but dont be so obvious and just say F… Y..! It was so lazy!

Tuesday show….

Best episode of the year.

We had a little bit of everything with action, drama, humor, romance, surprises, and three legit cliffhangers.

Roger Howarth is one amazing actor. I was on the edge of my seat with the drama and then busted out laughing when Franco acted offended when Dixon stopped the intros when it was his turn. The most hilarious part of the whole thing was when Ava said to Franco why don’t you volunteer yourself to be a hostage and he said back to her that’s a terrible idea cause nobody would care if he got killed. The little digs he took at Sonny and Julian were too funny. Roger Howarth was golden in this episode with his trademark humor. I also enjoyed the whole “Brad Cooper” moment when Dixon thought Brad was using the name of the famous actor and he was like no that’s really my name. The writing team slide in some needed comedy to break the ice for a bit with all the drama going on and it worked so well to me at least.

Poor Kiki! I really hope that she isn’t getting killed off. I have come to like and care about this character since Haley Erin took over the role. Kiki didn’t look too good by the end of the episode and once again caring about Morgan has ended up costing her. Michael was great to getting Morgan to calm down and Jordan also in placing him under arrest before he causes more mayhem. pops up out of the chair or Ava gets wind about him shooting Kiki.

Poor Nathan! He felt like he had the jump on Dixon but in true hero fashion took a shot to the chest. Maxie is going to blame herself for this cause she talked Nathan into leaving his gun at the station but hopefully Mac will be there for her. The camera angle didn’t get the best shot of it but Nina screamed in horror and looked shattered at the sight of her brother getting shot. I certainly hope this leads to more focus being put on this sibling relationship.

Poor Lulu! Raj is one chilling sadistic dude to toss her into the harbor like he was dropping off a sack of potato’s. The fact that it appears he has gotten away means this isn’t over by a long shot. Excellent camera work in showing Lulu underwater and her flashbacks to the good times with Dante.

The look on Carly’s face when she saw that crate of weapons was very poignant. Excellent acting from Laura Wright who always delivers the goods. I hope this doesn’t mean big trouble for my favorite couple in Carson but I see a big blowout happening between Carly and Sonny.

Wednesday show….

Another great episode. GH is on fire this week.

I loved the part when a worried Nina finally just said “The hell with it” and headed straight for her brother Nathan. This proves to me that Nina is a stronger woman now cause if this happened a year ago she would’ve locked up in fear. I saw some of the Nico magic when Nina and Franco were at the hospital.

Paul was such an unlikeable unsympathetic jerk for the whole hour and I loved it when Ava slapped the crap out of him in the face. He is telling her she has to stay for questioning after he’s been deceiving her for months and after just learning her daughter was shot? The other example of horrible timing on Paul’s part was to tell Anna they make a good team while all this blood and mayhem is surrounding them? She looked at him like he was crazy to say that.

I am happy that Sonny’s plan to remain wheelchair bound paid off cause it allowed him to save his daughter from Dixon but just the look on Carly’s face showed why his plan also backfired in regards to Morgan and Kiki. Awesome acting from LW and MB in their scenes without even having to say all that much. I loved the powerful ending when they rested their heads on each other after another draining day of mob activity. Carson has been my favorite GH couple for the past 15 years and my hope is that they survive this but Carly chucking those rifles into the water was a telling moment that they are far from fine. The price you pay for being a mob boss is the collateral damage that it inflicts on your family and Carly’s been the one woman who’s accepted all of Sonny’s lifestyle but has she reached her breaking point?

Michael reminds me so much of Jason in the way he deals with a crisis with family. The way that he stood by Morgan and the words he spoke to his brother was like a carbon copy of Jason dealing with Sonny/Carly when they were out of control. I am glad that Andre put Jordan in her place and demanded that she release his patient into his care but they need to get him sedated soon cause he could give Michael the slip or knock him out. Incredible acting from MW at the hospital when Ava let Morgan have it for what’s happened to Kiki. I do feel really bad for Ava and yeah she was terrible to her daughter last year but outside of Julian all she has is Kiki that loves her.

I have never been a fan of Lante and would prefer seeing them with other people but they had some good scenes in this episode. Dante realizing how much he loves Lulu after coming close to losing her is the beginning of their reunion. The underwater camera work has been really solid the last two days.

Nikolas pointed out that Hayden was shaking as they were leaving but was it based on flashbacks of her getting shot last May or because she’s really Susan who just saw her father in Paul? There was no expression of surprise on her face when he spoke up at the church. I don’t beleive Hayden is Susan and it was the sound of gunfire that had her shaking.

This exciting and set up well. Yeah! Excitement back on GH!

It was one of the best episodes I have seen in a long time! Had me at the edge of my seat until the end~ I really like where the story lines are going already this year. I have watched since the days of Monica pushing Leslie sown the stairs…and Jesse at the front nurses desk~ Keep up the great work!

So funny how split we are as others have mentioned. Why do some love it and others hate it? I’m in the latter camp. Watching Thursdays’ episode now and am FF through all the Morgan scenes. Just dreadful writing. They have killed a character who, if written the right way, could be likeable.

Melissa, I agree–the writing is in damage control mode..BIG TIME!

@Melissa….It would seem to me that our perspectives often—though not always— seem to part ways according to when we first became GH fans. Those of us who grew up watching the show during the 1980’s glory days— and even into the early ’90’s—appear to be the most disappointed, whilst viewers of those first years of Sonny still harbor an abiding affection for the character, and have much less of a problem with his role as the presumptive head of today’s kith and kin of Port Charles’ mob-ruled society. It’s the emphasis on this nearly all Sonny, et al, all the time that has been such a huge turn-off for me…the lawlessness and violence of his world has all but permeated the entire show, and I keep waiting for a turnaround toward a more balanced approach emphasizing romance and adventure, and featuring beloved, more likeable vets such as Laura, Anna and Robert Scorpio, not to mention the returning Michael Easton, who shall hopefully be assuming a role related to one of GH’s great legacy families. Were this formula to be utilized, I cannot help but think that many of us would be much happier campers….with luck, perhaps the forthcoming reading of Helena’s will usher in a different, more nostalgic-laden, traditional direction for the show.

To Shay. Yes like you I am more of an old-timely viewer, having watched GH with my Mom since the age of six (1969). So I do know what GH without the mob looks like and therefore what it can be again. Thanks for your very thought provoking comments.

@Melissa….Oh, you’re most welcome! You are obviously one viewer to whom I needn’t explain my distaste for today’s mob-drenched GH…..you were “there” when the show really was all about a hospital! Admittedly, my treasured memories date to when the spy stuff, pop musicians and men of derring-do were introduced, along with the great dynasties that are merely hanging on for dear life these days, but I suspect we both would like to see less Sonny-centric stories and more romance, “in general.” (No pun intended…..)

Hey, Linda.
I actually enjoyed today’s episode. There were too many ‘things’ that just did not add up….at the pier and at the Church.
The roof-top scene got to me. Later.

Personally, I’ve loved the episodes this week. Good drama, action, emotion, great acting as usual from the best ensemble cast on daytime. Laura Wright, Maurice Benard, Maura West, Richard Burgi, Finola Hughes, Bryan Craig, Emme Rylan, Kirsten Storms, Ryan Paevey, Haley Erin, Dominic Zamprogna, right on down the line, all tremendous performances. These shows have had a little of everything we say that we want from our soaps.

I’m honestly surprised to see so many comments from people hating the show. But then again, on this site, maybe I shouldn’t be that surprised. There are some that post here that would seemingly rather walk through broken glass bare foot than ever praise GH for anything.

Why do writers who make a show for a predominantly female audience think it’s OK to portray women as idiots? Morgan, admitted into the hospital for mental illness, charms a nurse into releasing him from his bonds? No nurse in the world would have fallen for that. Women actually have the brain power to be professionals. Thanks GH for the insult. Go ahead and keep biting the hand that feeds you. Do the writers even want the show to survive, or do they figure they can just jump back to Y&R or some other soap (until they are all gone)?

That’s what I said about the nurse, sort of. Women are presented and represented as idiots and floozies.
No one even took action against the nurse. No reprimands….she should be fired, considering where her negligence led Morgan.

just when you think this show couldn’t get any worse. We get February sweeps. maybe we could get lucky and a tornado could sweep in and sweep the show away. Scummy’s the hero, Anna is bad, or maybe just dumb. Paul who brought the guns in is an undercover hero ? Law enforcement is either stupid, keystone cops or just incompetent.???I was at the gym so I didn’t really hear most of the words but, I certainly don’t want to now.? are TIIC trying to get the show cancelled. They are not doing any of the actors any favors. Maybe its now a comedy and I am still expecting drama?

LAME LAME LAME and more LAME!

Liz.. sorry sorry sorry I’m so sorry, to Monica.
Liz.. sorry sorry sorry I’m so sorry, to Jason
Dante.. sorry sorry sorry I’m so sorry, to Lulu
Ava.. sorry sorry sorry I’m so sorry, to Kiki
Sonny.. sorry sorry sorry I’m so sorry, to Carly
Morgan.. sorry sorry sorry I’m so sorry, to Kiki, Ava
thursdays script ^^^^^^^

One more beggin’ sorry and I would have puked from a sugar overdose.
Everyone on Thursdays eppie was saying how sorry they were..
LAME SAPPY LAME.. and no intrigue about it, it was pathetic..

((the mob and the following ”sorry” day; both eppies stunk.. sigh

Darling she owed no one an apology Jason is a loser take him Sam he is all yours! Any yes GH will probably lose RH they deserve to!

Billy Miller has been on a complete snooze for a year and the fact they don’t want to pay Becky what she is worth speaks volumes

Seems to me it’s inevitable she will leave. I hope RH finds a happy soap home somewhere. She deserves it.

I wonder how many of these comments come from people paid by ABC? LOL

hi Kevin..
If ABC paid people to go to boards (they most likely dont know exist or care) I would be in line to apply for the job AHAA!
A dream job fersur …
I think I’ll call ABC to find out where to apply for their board posting job…. bwa!

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’

We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.

Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.

Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story.  The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

Photo: ABC

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.

The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed.  Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

Photo: ABC

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”

No word yet on when The Workout will be released.

So, looking forward to seeing this collaborative effort featuring GH’s Josh Kelly? Comment below.
