GENERAL HOSPITAL: Olivia Jerome Revealed, Naxie's Nuptials, Anna Has A Jarring Flashback!

Tuesday’s episode of General Hospital had the character of Julian Jerome (William deVry) in a tailspin.

He is becoming quite clear, via the events that are unfolding in his life, on who is behind the car bomb meant for him that killed Morgan, and who was responsible for his young son, Leo being taken to GH in an emergency situation. As Julian is about to come clean with Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason (Billy Miller) at GH, and after Sam presents Julian with a photo of  a young boy who she believes is him, the mobster says that everything that has happened has to do with family. As it turns out, Ned (Wally Kurth) saved Leo from taking aspirin when a bottle was left open and brought him to GH where Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) was beside herself.

Rudge meets the lady in red in their new location and reveals that a special message is being sent to Julian for not killing Jason. At the end of the episode, Julian back peddles on divulging the truth of who was behind the car bomb to JaSam and leaves hastily from GH.  Later, Julian bursts through the front doors of the location Rudge and his boss are in. Out from the shadows and the desk, comes none other than Olivia Jerome (Tonja Walker) alive and well, where she says to brother  Julian: “If you can’t make time for family, who can you make time for!”

Elsewhere, Naxie finally got married!  Yes, there was a pesky interruption via Liesl (KathleenGati) at the ceremony. However, we did have Mac in tow (John J. York) walking Maxie down the aisle.  When word came that Lucy Coe was delayed getting back to Port Charles, the nuptials came to a screeching halt.  But with Spinelli in attendance (temp recast, Blake Berris) and Robin’s (Kimberly McCullough) good memory that Spinelli officiated Sam and Jason’s wedding, he could actually make their union valid.  A skittish Spinelli doesn’t want to jinx anything for the happy couple, but reluctantly, and then happily agrees to officiate their ceremony.  During their personal vows, fans of the couple were treated to a montage of the history of their relationship.   In the end, Maxie and Nathan finally tied the knot.  As the reception began, Spinelli looked wistful, surely a part of him was sad to see Maxie move on with Nathan, although he supports their union.

During the wedding, Anna (Finola Hughes) who is a guest as is Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), has a startling flashback where a man says to her “I waited so long for this!”  She looks shocked as she inches closer and closer to her connection to Valentin.

So, what did you think of the Olivia Jerome reveal? What were your thoughts on Maxie and Nathan’s nuptials?  What do you think is the connection between Anna and Valentin? Share your thoughts and theories in the comment section below!

Olivia Jerome reveal was the worst kept secret on a soap EVER!! It was clear the moment we heard the name Otto Jessups that Olivia was alive and on her way back.

It only made sense that Tonja reclaim the role of Olivia Jerome. It’s an interesting twist and while I’m not a huge fan of Ms. Walker’s work, I look forward to seeing her take on Olivia in 2017. Plus, seeing her go up against Maura West’s Ava should be a fun present to see them go head-to-head.

As for Anna’s flashback… not sure what it has in store. I have my ideas, but I am waiting for them to pan out.

Maxie and Nathan’s wedding was cute but, I have to admit, Blake Berris simply does not fit the role of Spinelli. I’d rather him in a recast of Matt Hunter or a new character.

The story lines are way to slow! Really board. It took weeks for the Olivia reveal, but no suprize really. The Nell and Anna stories are dragging. The Charlotte /Valentine/Lulu story is boring. Where are Laura and Kevin? They share I love yous a month ago and now nothing?! I have watched for 40 years and I have never been so board.

Well said, Suz. Things for a while on GH were almost moving too fast. Now the writing is moving storypoints way too slowly, to the point of boredom. The focus is still storypoints involving crime, so Laura and Kevin aren’t a priority. And the Charlotte/Valentine/Lulu story is way too predictable. Valentine probably has his ex tucked away someplace, if he didn’t kill her. Way too predictable…

The continued pre-empeted episodes does not help matters. I also feel as if to much of some stories happen “off screen”

But Laura and Kevin SHOULD be a priority.

Totally

I do agree Laura and Kevin should be a priority, but they’re not because the writers are drawn to writing about crime, not love. I’m surprised GH’s name hasn’t been changed to “General Mafia”. The writers have lost sight of love and relationships being the focus. It’s become about violence and revenge, sadly.

Will get a lot of haters fof this, but there is nothing more boring to me than Kevin and Laura. Alone, I like them, but not together.

I thought it was the first interesting episode for me in a very long time. I think the writers are wise to mine Gh history to help develop Julian/Olivia storyline. I’m not a huge fan of Nathan & Maxie, but even I am a sucker for a sweet montage of their relationship. I feel GH has some promising storylines in the works, I hope they keep it up. I stopped watching for awhile because it was so boring, but things are finally more interesting…I’m even willing to go along with the Lulu/Valentine storyline just because it helped jumpstart a meandering story that needed some depth & interest to hold my attention. I always love seeing Mac & Felicia with Anna!

Totally agree about “first interesting episode” in awhile.

Wondering why they did the montage; montages are usually done when the character(s) is/are leaving. ????????

The main issue with the montage for me was that I could really see that it’s not my imagination that Kirsten Storms has become less expressive as Maxie over the past year. I don’t know what is going on. But, I don’t think it’s skin issues. Her face is not moving. When she was in that scene in Nina’s office with four women around her, they all looked more excited to be getting married than Maxie. Storms didn’t/couldn’t do more than lift the corners of her mouth to mimic a weak smile.

2 years ago, Maxie was much more animated. She shouted, laughed, looked exasperated/excited/worried, etc. Her eyebrows actually moved. I don’t know what kind of medical or beauty procedures the actress is undergoing. The montage just made it obvious that her acting is being affected, which is sad because Maxie used to be the most expressive character in the case. Now, Sonny is more expressive than Maxie.

Kansas Guest. You make a good point. I thought something was off about Maxie too but could not pinpoint what that was exactly. Yes, she is far less animated than she was before.

I really like bringing back Olivia…but hopefully not for too long. There isn’t enough room on the show for another evil person. Can’t have Sonny and Julian both being good guys protecting their families…it gets way too repetitive. Please enduldge me a bit: In my humble opinion….. I like the Valentin story line…but I have to admit, I’m not liking the actress who play’s LuLu. She’s seems to have only one emotion no matter happy or sad. Knowing that she is a “Spencer” she just doesn’t have it. There are so many who could pull off Lu Lu, like the actress playing Kiki or even the actress playing Nell…. So, Anna in a good story, great! love to see her in almost all story lines. She brings class to every scene that she is in. I wish we could get more spy vs spy with a true all out WSB adventure, with location shots as in the past. Finally, a huge PLEASE to the PTB, work on more exciting scripts….and please hurry to incorporate some OLTL and AMC characters into Port Charles..they are desperately needed. Again, just my opinion.. Have a great day all! -Mister K.

Why on earth would they incorporate characters from two cancelled soaps into the fabric of GH it makes absolutely no sense. What are these characters supposed to do. Have a pine valley llanview bus trip that breaks down in Port Charles and they all decide to take up residence??? It’s enough to work with what they have. Not add pointless characters just because people miss them.

Totally agree! We already don’t see several characters for weeks at a time

I so agree with you davlestev1…

Because MANY people watched the entire line-up. For years! AMC, OLTL & GH. People who watch soaps do so for years. I get it and hope to see Vicki & Dorian mixing it up with Tracy.

I love GH I am so SMH…Vicki and Dorian with Tracy Q…HUH..and Blair running around freaking out over Franco..David Bickers with Liesel…BO with Monica…Tad with Laura…and Kendall freaking out over Hayden. ..and Erica taking over Crimson. It’s not necessary it’s not happening nor should it. EVER!!

The writers are doing Emme Rylan no favors. The character of Lulu is being written as one dimensional and not very bright. There are no shade or subtleties to her dialogue or actions. It’s hard to watch.

I mean no disrespect to her character… ie: momma smurph

but really? all of port Charles is working against Valentin as it is

I love that Valentin and Nina married … to fight for Charlotte

but; back to Lulu… I think her character is adorable… and she can spit fire

just not here…. she’s up against the crème de la crème of high brow

The Cassadine

I don’t care that Laura is fighting for her grandchild

GH: you don’t mess with the recipe of years of gold; in Valentin and Nina

WITH GH best find… in Scarlett Hernandez

this is good stuff and pure bliss

@ Lulu… will have to settle for visitation, rights (?)

Lulu’s just a boring character…but I love Dante.

I liked the first Lulu.

I just hope this Anna revelation is not a huge disappointment, but I have zero confidence in these 2 “women” writers. I have a feeling that this whole Anna story will mess with established history and we are talking 35 year history. These writers seem to be obsessed with rape and sexual assault on women and making women characters on this show to be victims all the time. The whole reincarnation of Olivia Jerome is to redeem Julian and Im ok with that, but again these writers continuously painted Julian into a horrible corner where he assaulted his wife and tried to kill her. Now they are looking for a way out. Such horrible writers, the worst I have seen yet for this show and that says a lot.

Julian CAN’T be redeemed in my book. Twisting the storyline only angers and confuses this viewer. WHY CAN’T ANYONE PAY FOR THEIR CRIMES AND JUST LEAVE THE CANVAS? Such a cheat!

Totally agree. No re-write would ever work in my opinion.

I agree on all points.

I love how they’re getting Julian out of the mess they’ve written him into. Julian is a great character; DeVry a good actor and I don’t want to see “either” written off. I think they can very easily explain away his actions with this storyline. I’ve said all along he never would have hurt her and I’m willing to suspend my disbelief to believe that he was “acting” … knowing he was being watched when he ran after Alexis with the knife. Probably would have somehow whispered to her to play along…we’ll never know because Sonny stepped in. Works for me….

Rebecca, I see your point but I do wish the writers would stop creating these messes and then come in with a Brawny quicker picker upper to clean up the mess of their own making.
Why make Julian try to kill Alexis in the first place? And at the time he was trying to kill her he had a look of dark menace on his face. He truly wanted to kill her–the viewers knew it and William DeVry played it that way. Indeed, he said in an interview that Maurice Benard gave him some advice on how to go the dark side.
Of course Maurice is an expert on the subject. He has come back from the dark side to light side so many times that he needs to be wearing transition lenses.

LOL Add…

I hear ya. But like I said, I’m okay with it. I think it created a good story at the time, a great story for Nancy to play and we all know they barely keep couples happy for long. There’s so much fantastical stuff on this show, so many events that are not realistic that I barely blink. The show’s been on for decades, stories will be recycled, test our limits, have us go at each other…as we know from experience, ahem…it’s all good fun to me.

I dont agree it’s sending a “bad message.” GH watchers should know what to expect from soaps, particularly this show. We know there are a surplus of criminals, of criminal acts, of masks, people back from the dead, breakups, makeups…crazies gone wild, crazies gone sane, crazies gone mad. Haha…

Whatever their intent at the time they’re patching things up both in the chain of events and probably with Alexis and Julian. I’m all for it. I suspect they’ll be two camps on this one but goes with the territory….

I think the writers changed their original plan for Alexis and Julian. They got so much flack from fans wanting them together, that they then added the sister Olivia threatening Julian plan, allowing Julian to tell Alexis eventually (,after turning her into a lush,)” sorry honey, my devil sister made me do it!” He’s still slime to me, but the writers are for once going with the majority that want these two together.

Violet Lemm…Sonny’s so much slimier and he’s been around forever! Julian just sorta emanates sincerity…

It will be fun to see Tonja back as Olivia Jerome for awhile. Two thoughts: 1) Kinda weird that there will be two characters on the canvass named Olivia. 2) This had BETTER NOT IN ANY WAY push my beloved Maura/Ava into the background.

I don’t think Maura/Ava will be pushed into the background unless she wants off. They know (or at least I hope they know) that they struck gold with her.

My sentiments exactly. Maura/Ava is one of the best things about GH and the main reason I watch it. I don’t think they will push her aside though because they know they have a talented actress with her, one who always gives 110% of herself to the role. I don’t think they would want her to leave.

Blake Berris would be a great Morgan recast,

But I hear the other actor wants to come back–on a recurring basic. He’s not asking for much, is he now?????!!!!!

I have no use for BryanCraig. I am all for a decent recast.

OMG!!!! Yes

Don’t see him as Morgan at all…unless they want him to go back to the innocent kid-type he was as a child. Morgan as an adult (played by Bryan Craig) was hot…sultry. Different vibe….

There’s no need for the character right now. Perhaps if Dillon and Kiki eventually get engaged, but for now, we have enough Corinthoses.

Two Olivia’s and both connected to Julian could make for some confusion.
Love the character of Valentin, and his interactions with Anna are fantastic, actually love his interactions with all the women of Port Charles.

Well we all knew the Dragon Lady was Olivia!

I give GH credit for putting some effort into Maxie’s wedding. Georgie was cute as a button!

The Spinelli recast is horrible!

Remember when soaps were popular and the network put effort into their shows. I knew Jack Wagner wouldnt show but back in the day they would throw a twist at you and Frisco would have appeared! Must not be in Frank’s back pocket. So Frisco is a deadbeat dad and Mac is the best! Just so dumb that Jack couldnt appear on ONE episode!

No, we had Mudder interrupt the wedding with her over the top old act!

Anna and Valentin are great and I hope the story is going somewhere worth it!

Mudder is just too much! I mean, really???? And she’s still on staff? GMAB!

She is a cartoon character that has run its course! She should have been in jail long ago! Having her chief of staff at GH, well lets just say, Steve Hardy was spinning in his grave!

Especially all the evil she has done to Duke, Robert, Robin, Lulu &Dante, etc, etc, how she can work or run a hospitol in Port Charles is ludicris. She should be in prison. Oh, almost forgot all the crap she did to Dr. Finn, trying to get rid of him, and dumb Nathan forgets about the woman that raised him, embracing the one that gave him up. I think he went from bad to worse!

“…The Spinelli recast is horrible! ”

agree

dag… a hair cut goes a – long – ways

I was so looking forward to this… and sank

when he was @DAYS… honest to goodness… he was on par excellent

I will watch any way… as he’s in my memory bank

Blake Berris has all the ingredients to spare

I know Patrick, nothing against Blake, he just landed the wrong part. The guy needed to be smaller and geekier!

I do like Dr. O/Gati being part of GH, but have never bought into her position(s) at the hospital. Wish they could give her a more “believable” (a weird word to use about a soap character) villainess role. More interesting than all the mob/Sonny/Jerome stuff. Can’t imagine how Anna and Robin must have felt seeing her at the wedding after all the grief she and Faison put them, Robert and Duke through at the clinic in Switzerland.

Thats just it Rose, Liesel has hurt so many on the show she just doesnt belong. She should have ran off with Faison.

Timme…I think what happened is Kathleen Gati was such as show stopping actress they tried to write stories/roles to keep her in a Port Charles. Since she didn’t sail away with Faison and Britt they just haven’t found the right fit yet.

Hey, they had to recast Spinelli over a weekend! Friday they learn BA can’t make it Monday and they have to find someone who can come in Monday. Ya gotta cut ‘me some slack! 🙂

Slack, I have! No, there is only one Spinelli, I would have had Ellie bring Georgie to the wedding and have some stranger marry them.

I don’t understand how they neglected the obvious priest in the room to perform the ceremony?!

Right! Like, duh…

I was thinking the same thing, or Kevin, anyone but this imposter/reject from DOOL.

Well I was a tad disappointed because one the MAJOR moments of this saga took place off screen– the moment Julian discovered the sister he had killed was still alive– I knew Olivia was the lady in red, but I wasn’t certain Julian did, so I was looking forward that reveal– but based on the way it ended it seems Julian already knows– so the reveal of his finding out the truth will either been done via fake flashback or not at all– flashbacks never are as satisfying as the actual moment

As for the wedding— don’t even get me started, the fact they dragged it out for what? like three episodes was a waste of time. Spinelli, was not necessary and even if the original actor was available, having him married them was so dumb— all this unnecessary drama— who will marry us— ummm the priest standing right there– maybe he isn’t a practicing , but Griffin wasn’t deflocked if he could give Carlos last rights- he could have officiated the wedding—and the interruption by Nathan’s mother– she didn’t raise him, they hardly say boo to each other and she is upset they started without her? — Again more unnecessary fake drama- to stretch a plot point that took too long as it was—but the time actual wedding part came I know longer cared because the whole thing was such an annoying waste of my time.

Agreed! Well stated.

Good post Mary.

The Olivia Jerome /Julian Jerome story smacks of another story being made up as it goes along. I remember when the reason for Julian’s actions was that he was being controlled by “Fluke”. At that time the exact same chain of events was portrayed. GH is really hampered by the mob stories and mob connections. The biggest failing of the show is that of the writers’ inability to construct a compelling, consistent story arc with a beginning, middle and payoff. You can’t wing this stuff. Long live GH!

Left me stymied also!

Couldn’t agree with you more. Some of the overall ideas are good i.e. a hospital murder mystery but it was made up as they went along and designed to kill off extraneous characters and retool a mish mash of couples, recurring characters and some of Carlivati’s dummy moves. What if they had built the Hayden reveal, tied it to Jeff Webber, brought Jeff back and Sarah, gave Monica her job back, killed off a few characters but tie the murder to the hospital ala Phil Brewer. Alex’s dissent into madness has been overdone. It was time to give Genie a story. She could have been tied to the hospital early on, get her on the board, romance with Jeff maybe who’s played by Grant Alexander or Robert Newman.

The writers disappoint once again. While I didn’t mind the Spinelli stand in the character was not necessary to officiate the wedding with Griffin in attendance. Whatever Valentin’s relation to Anna is he better not be Robin’s father. DO NOT REWRITE HISTORY!

I’m getting that Anna was raped by Valentine. No wonder she’s put that buried , I agree stop with the story lines assaulting women already. Rape or knifes to woman’s throat, I still want Julian to be sent to sing, sing for that one.

Great Tuesday episode. High drama, sweet romance, and juicy suspense. So much was happening.

Yes! Welcome back, Tonja! Olivia has returned and looking as wicked as ever! I can’t wait to see the original Jerome mob princess get reacquainted with Julian, Anna, Lucy and getting to introduce herself to Ava, Sonny, and Griffin. Must see scenes are on the horizon when Olivia crosses paths with those six. Bring it on! I could tell by Julian’s facial reaction when he entered the new location that he does know that the boss is his sister, Olivia, cause he didn’t seem shocked in the least when he saw her come out from the back. We will hopefully get some flashbacks to when Julian did realize the sister he killed, Olivia, is very much alive and is taking her revenge on him while also targeting Sonny’s territories. My gut feeling for the last month or two is that Olivia/Rudge may be in cahoots with the Wu crime family. This would explain all the chinese and asian themes throughout the story. The location of the pawn shop was in the asian quarter so maybe the Wu’s gave it to Olivia/Rudge as cover for themselves. I beleive we are going to see Julian, Sonny, and Jason all team up to deal with the new mob faction in town in the name of protecting their loved ones. Sonny and Julian already teamed up once before during the prison storyline in early 15, when Fluke was threatening to kill Michael and Lucas on the outside, and Johnny kept sending his goons over to beatup Sonny and Julian. Meanwhile, I would love to see Olivia take away the newspaper from Julian and the gallery from Ava.

Woah! We finally got a clear flashback to something that went on in the past between Anna and Valentin. I suppose that one could speculate many different scenarios just from that short clip, but since they seemed to have changed their minds on him being an all-out villain, you would think the reveal isn’t that he raped her or beat her up. The notion is kinda implied from the little snippet they showed, but doubt it will be anything like that cause it doesn’t add up with the cryptic remarks that Valentin has made to Anna, and as he said last week it’s something she did to him. I am gonna stick with my other theory concerning this great mystery (not the one about them being siblings) and that she busted him working undercover. Andre revealed to Anna a month or two ago that he learned Valentin was a diamond thief, when he profiled him at some point in the past, and Anna was knee deep in fencing jewels at one time. I wonder if maybe Anna and Valentin fell in love while working together on a series of heists, but in the end she betrayed him and he lost his freedom along with the woman he loved. She doesn’t recognize him cause he’s had plastic surgery and he isn’t using the same name from back then. The flashback in this episode could’ve been him seeking his revenge after he broke out of prison. I am loving this story (keeps me guessing) and it’s really heating up based on the preview clip.

Welcome back Ned! Loved his scenes with Olivia and Julian. I always enjoy it when he makes an appearance and as usual was the perfect gentleman in reassuring a worried Olivia. Ned showed compassion to Julian by offering to step aside so he can see Leo even though deep down (IMO) he had a hunch this incident was mob related by the way Julian was acting. I beleive that Julian had an epiphany watching Ned/Olivia with Leo (much like Jason did with Jake 10 years ago) and will sign over his parental rights so Ned can adopt Leo. This would go a long way in his redemption and vows to protect his family at all costs. Julian can leave the mob all he wants but something will always come back to haunt him so the threat of danger will never be fully gone. Ned was right there by Olivia’s side when she gave birth to Leo, gave away his ELQ shares in order to keep his paternity a secret from Julian, and clearly adores his mother enough to provide a safe loving home. Tracy would be thrilled to have a new young grandson in the family. GH really needs Wally back on contract so Ned can be a full-time character again.

A very nice montage put together of all of Maxie and Nathan special moments. The touching vows being spliced in with all of their romantic images worked very well. I have always been indifferent to this pairing (kinda find them boring and mismatched) but looking back on the three years you are reminded they had a sweet love story. I will take them anyday over some of the other couples on this show like Friz, Lante, and Jordre. Emma and Charlotte have really hit it off and were so cute together in this episode and what a treat to see a bigger older Georgie. I thought it was so cute when Georgie said “I missed you too, mommy” after Maxie greeted her with a hug and told her the same. Come on, GH! Do not let anymore time pass between this mother and daughter. We need to see Georgie around just as much as the other GH kids. Kudos to Mac. He was always the rock for Robin, Maxie, and Georgie 1. I must admit that as huge Frisco fan it’s bittersweet for me to see Mac walking Maxie down the aisle and obviously for good reason she considers him her dad. He has earned the right and deserved that honor and the little moment they had was touching.

Obrecht making her grand entrance into the wedding put a smile on my face cause I was steamed to see her not there when the ceremony was starting but everything worked out fine in the end. I just love the relationship between Obrecht and Nathan and was so proud of her two years ago when she rejected her dream, with Faison asking her to leave with him and Britt on the launch, but she refused to leave Nathan who was in the hospital. She is a soulful enthusiastic woman who can hurt very easy and can be thrilled very easy. Obrecht was happy when Maxie called her “mother in law” in German and when Nathan welcomed “mom” into the wedding with a hug. I am hopeful they will let Obrecht sing at the reception.

I don’t agree with everything you said but I think it was a great post and I love your enthusiasm and reflection. It’s so easy to criticize the writers and I know a few of us have pointed this out several times but one would assume…LOL…that writing the same story for decades…daily…is a bit of a “challenge.” There’s bound to be redundancies, some dull episodes…there’s always going to be stories some love and others hate. For the most part I still enjoy watching the show…it’s a fictitious escape into a familiar world so I go with the flow.

I, too, enjoyed the wedding. And, I actually understood Dr. O’s fury. She was hurt and understandably so. The actual wedding was sweet; it was fun to see the flashbacks and I think important because this couple has been absent for a long time. They started strong and then took a back seat to other characters and stories not to mention Kristen’s absence for a while. They became a background filler…an occasional story. By putting many of their experiences in one montage it brought back their evolving love story. Still, theirs isn’t even close to the great love stories on soaps…it’s still sweet and fun and I like both characters. It was, as others have said, ridiculous to not ask Griffin if he could officiate…but other than that I was glad to see they at least had guests! So annoying when barely any characters appear and they fill the room with extras…

Kudos to a short but sweet wedding and for managing to intertwine some other relevant stories into the mix.

Loved seeing Mac! If anyone should be brought back it’s John York!

Nicely written 🙂 I had forgotten Anna’s history as a jewel fence and that makes a lot of sense. Good insights!

I resent like hell that Felicia and Mac are trotted out for Maxie’s wedding when they have not been given a story line in over 10 years.
They are the heart and soul of the show and they both look fabulous and seem to be somewhat ageless.
Meanwhile, the pointless Nina is force fed into almost every story and seems to have a larger role in her son’s, er, I mean, her brother’s wedding that Felicia does.
Stafford is in the same age range as Kristina Wagner so this is not a case of giving way to the younger generation but it does show that Frank V favors his newbie pets over the GH vets. Vets vs Pets? Maybe. It does attest to the fact that GH does not value its veterans. Triston Rogers recently Tweeted as much.

Tuesday’ ep :  1/10

left me in wonderment, would call it amazing… i’ll go their

two actress’ who are shining… from spotlight

1.  Nancy Lee Grahn.

I haven’t naysayed her character in a long while.   try as I might to stop my irritable at her high moral standard… I continually watch Alexis.   it’s because she’s with Julian.   I’ve posted before, she’s attached.. to two of the HOTTEST MEN in Port Charles… Julian and Valentin

YET… she’s dealing with a very hot topic and issue(s).  first and foremost… My heart started pounding… as she told Julian… ie:  Tom Baker… ( not verbatim )  I wanted him to stop.. he wouldn’t… tears welled up  … Go Nancy…. it’s your time… rivet

my take… it’s nice to see these two… helping and caring for each other… perhaps these things were not addressed… two very diverse background.  we’re getting to see inroad of two people feeling

there’s a lot of passion these two ignited.   which goes along with how he wasn’t in his right frame of mind when he pulled that knife.

as for her drinking… thus far it’s not made clear… she’s not over the top and not underplaying… nor do I think it’s being overplayed… ie:  w/ Nikki @Y&R.   the part that bugs me is when they start playing their character as can’t touch that… dag!  in moderation… partay

Julian is smolder… Rudge is smolder… Valentin is smolder… Dante is smolder…

hats of to Nancy Lee Grahn

2.  Jacklyn Zeman.

I have adored her forever.  she’s my lady.  and she plays one… with smarts .. she’s to be pomp and circumstance… she never shy away… she levels with you… and meets you eye to eye.

her scenes with her daughter, Carly are heartwarming… I will continually prop.. how lucky Laura Wright is to have her onscreen mother by her side.   Bobbi is her ONLY true ally.

I loved when Bobbi walks in to the metro… and she can’t get Carly attention… gawd… Carly was caught actually fantasizing about sex with Sonny…. slap me

LOL   Bobbie takes command… “Earth to carly.. welcome back you were on quite a “trip”      shall we hope… another read between the lines… END THIS

Jacklyn … LOL.. I roar with her panache and skill… as she dealt Nelle OUT.  and rang her up … just waiting for Nelle to spill.  This lady is a tramp and she’s worth GOLD.

@GH… work this marvel… who carries this show.  I LOVE Bobbi Spencer and Jacklyn Zeman.

Hollah !  Nancy and Jacklyn are ON

two of the FUNNIEST scene stealers… who knew Jean and Shelly are writing ?
( i’ll try for 3)

1.  Scotty Baldwin… LOL… as he phones Franco… I gotta go… theres a fire…  Franco mutters :  those ambulences need to be chased

I fell in love with Kin Shriner … years ago.  he never fails to impress .. so comedic

2.  Franco is leaving Alexis house… he mutters : ” doing a little house cleaning I see, ( he picks up a couple bottles ) want me to recycle

3. was at Sams expense… since when do I let up… read between the lines moment
Ava is telling her niece… don’t ever change, priceless. I get it… Sam has run her course.

Valentin – and – Anna.  I have no choice in how this may play out… much to my chagrin.  as I do not see any chemistry with Anna.  from the getgo.. she played it angry… and out to get him.   she looks too old for him.

ie:  recent SOD issue… article about James Patrick Stuart… readily admitted he signed on… knowing he’d have scenes and time… with… FInola Hughes and Anna Devane.   Finola… along with Jane Elliott… WILL always be… a force – I just don’t think GH needs to overplay this… GH has power players .. and yes… this is high yield mega watt tour de force

he exclaimed… that he’s physically attracted to Nina… and he’s “taken” with her. ??? and GH already had Nina stammering and doing her own exclaiming… to her brother Nathan… “why does it have to start with love”  ??? oy   Valentin and Nina have the best sex.

?? this leaves the door open for both Nina and Anna to see how the sensors  ( lol ) and the Nielson family tunes in ?

will the big reveal of what’s troubling Anna be enough to overtake … what Valentin and Nina and Charlotte have already built.

I swear this ready made family amp each other… the vibe and relationship from the start had me cheering that GH finally and at last… have something…. HUGE… a sophisticated troupe of equal measure appeal and trigger.  I will be shattered if any thing else deals this family squandered… it’s so much more than needy Nina soul left barren.  Michelle Stafford is back on top… she can truly kiss Y&R goodbye.

I am left waiting for the scenes to come… as Valentin and Nina are ready to share the “surprise” to Charlotte that they are married.   Scarlett Fernandez is a gem… I love her

FINALLY :  I can call this show; AMAZING…. ( naysay mode )

imagine this show without Carly / Sonny / Jason / Sam.   take them out of the equation… and you’ve got a beautiful show still.   what will you really miss ?   there’s no gaping “whole” here.   yikes.. at the very least… Jason and Sam are so snore … they are truly the one couple who are inconsequential… god… it’s written in their expressionless .. how they must be bored with themselves… they bring to life nothing.

i’m going to throw this in… it’s jarring to see scenes with Finn and Hayden… what the hell for ?  they are the sole act of their own selves.. they contribute nothing to the show… let alone mixing in with any cast members.

outside of this… this show would sail and continue to move

ie: Alexis and Julian

ALL we ever saw… prior to this storyline

three things

1. Julian trying to redeem himself and stay out of the mob.. and live a clean life and for his children

2. Alexis on her cross … don’t you ever lie to me… and supreme courted her virtue

3. sex sex and more sex

so now… we are seeing a breakdown… of both characters

finally … seeing inroads to better character develop
and … for what its worth a real journey of love lost and caught

Nancy Lee Grahn and William DeVry are giving their all… and it’s to their huge credit… because they are rising above the “crap” they were scripted

once again… GH has two stellar couples to glean

Valentin and Nina
Alexis and Julian

ie: back to Nancy and William

this opens their characters to more layers of expression

god, these are good actors

Awwwwww crips
I was hoping for the Wu family, to get a good war going on to liven things up..
Now it’s a sister and brother cat and dog fight..

ohh well, this Olivia Jerome had better be a true murdering gun molll ..
But eh, J&S will turn her into a meek lamb in short time and her and Sonny will build a meditation chapel to hang out in .. lol

OK-
I’m so disappointed it is not the Wu’s..
Mama Wu being Brad’s mother and the chaos that would erupt from bringing Brad and Lucus and papa Julian into an adventure story along with Sonny .
Brad and Lucus saving each other from death, good stuff.
If, J&S had a working imagination it could have been awesomely different to have Lacus and Brad in a leading story instead of the same old players dominating every single story.
J&S are so stale that are moldy.

Me too, Suoo.

Is there a chance the WU’s are helping”finance” Olivia J? How else could she afford to live in exile, and then have the money to stage a comeback against Julian? And WU’s found a perfect ally to help get rid of Julian and maybe Sonny in the bargain. I don’t usually like crime and violence all of the time, but in this case I’m kinda looking forward to a limited turf war. As a bonus it presents the possibility Brad and Lucas will get to be part of a much bigger story than they usually get. Plus it’s more exotic. When you look at Olivia’s decor it is oriental. I remember my Grandmother having a television set that had the same black closing doors with gorgeous Chinese inlays that Olivia has on her cabinet.

hey!
It would have been a great opportunity to give Brad and Lucas a big upfront story..
And of course papa Julian and his sister too..
Brad mama Wu’s son married to Lucas papa Julians son.. all entangled in a great adventure story..

1,000% Agree!!!!

I am so sick of Lulu and her whole “Valentin is a killer and shouldn’t be at the wedding” shtick — she oh so conveniently forgets that her sainted father-in-law Sonny killed AJ, she killed Logan, her mother killed David Hamilton, and her brother Nicolas’s aunt/sister-in-law Kristina’s mother Alexis killed Luis Alcazar and Kiefer Bauer.

As for Lulu’s insistence that Charlotte be told she is the girl’s real mother, I think it has been yet another fail on the part of Jean and Shelly not to have scenes where Laura talks to Lulu about how her life was affected when she learned that Lesley was her real mother after having grown up believing that she was Barbara Vining’s daughter.

The reveal that Olivia is alive and behind all of Julian’s actions feels like the writers making up anything to get out of the corner they have written the character into. Everything on this show feels like it is just made up as the writers go along (especially the return of Liz’s rapist which quickly went from being a story about Liz to a story about Franco to a story about Alexis — and will probably end up being a story about Kiki who will be revealed as the culprit which is the real reason she was on that bus with Dillon).

And as for Anna’s flashback…I hope these writers are not going in the direction of having Anna assaulted by Valentin resulting in a child that Anna gave away and Obrecht adopted at Faison’s urging. I know that Anna’s on-screen family has been reduced but “Nathan DeVane” is not the answer.

Totally agree. Laura was greatly affected by being taken away from her life/family at a young age. That’s when I first started watching!! The writers need to work some history into current story lines

ALL these years we wished Laura would be here for Lulu and now that it can happen, NONE of these mother and daughter scenes are shot! Plus, bring back Julie Berman and recast Dante, he is a snore!

You are so right! It does not seem as if the writers “know” the characters and their history.

Lulu’s always impulsive, and it always gets her in trouble. Many times she doesn’t consider how other’s feel about her actions or how it will effect them. Remember the trip to Canada with Dillon to help find Luke or Lucky (?). Why tell Dante??? What about Rocco??? But “hey,” she’s a Spencer like her Dad which gives her an excuse. Yes, I get bored with her, too.

On the other hand she was more recently a prisoner of Valentin’s on the Cassadine Island and saw Nik killed and a Kevin shot. Hard to shake that off at the wedding when he arrives with her stolen embryo daughter, Charlotte. And while writers are trying to make her sensitive to Charlotte in the linen closet, I think you really have to be careful about how you reveal you are her real mother. Just another example of her impatience. Maybe talk to a Kevin first? Makes you think of the real life story in the news about the now 18 yr old girl who was taken from the hospital when she was born, raised by the kidnapping woman, and has now been reunited with her biological parents.

Another fail on the part of Jean and Shelly was the photo of Julian that Jason found — it’s clearly a photo of young William deVry which makes no sense since it was established that Julian was given plastic surgery for his new identity as Derek Wells in exchange for his testimony against the mob.

This show is such a mess.

Knew it once they said reincarnation. The only one with a vendetta against Julian would have been his sister or his father and since it was a woman it was obvious. Specially with the professor with the red nails

That picture looked exactly like little Jake! Yea, I know, Jake who ?,and what happened to the diary that he supposedly wrote about the little girl he played with while on the island .They dumped that story pretty fast.

This show is so bad! Thye bring Olivia back from the dead and did not show Julian shitting his pants. What a mess! I think they are tanking the show and Frank has a contract beyond GH to produce a nightly drama.

For all the negativity, you have to admit Thursday was a fantastic episode. The heartwarming moments with Mac (yes, he needs to be used more), real flashbacks (Anna/Olivia) and fake flashback (Anna/Quasi-Valentin) were great for long time viewers.

I’ll even overlook the contrived rehash of Olivia’s obsession with Duke. Upon her “death” 25 years ago, she found love and happiness with Colton Shore (Lucy’s cousin and Felicia’s ex-boyfriend). Anything to have Tonja Walker back on screen.

That woman is obviously insane with all her photos of herself with Duke, including one with herself in a wedding dress, which looked like it had been cut, and put together with his. Julian actually acted sympathetic towards her. I guess, in some cases, blood is thicker than water!

I think there is a possibility that perhaps at one time Anna and Valentine were lovers. Maybe he even proposed to her and something went horribly wrong in the relationship causing her to blot hate him, thus blotting things associated with him out of her memory.

The ep on Thursday, Jan 19, seemed to be a crowd pleaser for all fans. There were some awesome, sweet touches to the wedding that have been overlooked in previous weddings and the Jones/Devane/Scorpio/Lavery clans have been overlooked as well. So I was happy to see that the entire ep was about them, except perhaps for Sam and Liz, from Valentin showing his true self finally as he punched out a drunk Griffin and suffered a bit of a breakdown in front of Anna to the return of Olivia Jerome (aka as Liv it seems LOL) and her dashing onscreen partner Duke who has more presence and charisma onscreen than many newbies on the show since his demise. His pics are that good and Anna and Liv’s talks and dreams with him have been a highlight for this fan. When Liv talked about doing the Tango with him in the 80s and photoshopped in her pic, I was both horrified and laughing. She’s that good and a kick in the pants for this long neglected daytime serial.

It really makes up for the backwards redemption of Franco and Julian which has been monopolizing the show the past couple months (I seriously can only handle one of these redemptions at the most or I tune out) along with the Corinthos storyline. The writers need to be left to their devices by the execs and producer. If they wanna move the moral center, create a priest, and shove a few more bad guys off the pier, so be it. Really happy the Valentin and Olivia J are there to play some straight villains which is exactly what the show needs. Yes, they have layers but no one should be getting away with what they get away with. Some are hurt and continue to live without in returnn hurting every single person who stands in their way.

General Hospital

General Hospital’s Adam J. Harrington Weighs-in On John and Carly, and How it’s ‘Starting to Get Very Complicated”

On recent episodes of General Hospital, Carly (Laura Wright) came to John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) rescue as he was beaten down in an assault. Carly put on her “nurses cap,” sort of speak, and got John to his hotel room and watched over to him, to make sure he didn’t lose consciousness.

GH fans also got their first glimpse of what may be a new romance for Carly, if she and John continue to bond.  If John and Carly were to have a relationship, it would certainly have a ripple effect with Jason (Steve Burton) and Sonny (Maurice Benard).

Adam J. Harrington shared his view on the scenes and what might be next between the two. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Harrington shared, “I thought it was written in a way where there’s an understanding and a respect between them both. I don’t think there was any moment where she was not aware that he’s an FBI agent, and there was no moment that he wasn’t aware of her history and relationship to other people in the town. I really liked it. I was really looking forward to shooting it with Laura and we had a really nice time shooting it.”

When Carly and John part ways, it seems there were some romantic sparks, as Harrington puts it, “Isn’t that interesting that sometimes with people, the one moment they actually show how they feel is when they know there’s an escape hatch. They know they’re about to walk away. So, it’s almost safe in that moment to do it. I thought that was really special about how (the writers) handled John and Carly. Even the music in that scene was beautifully done.”

Where is this all heading? Conflict! Internally and professionally, and as Adam explains, “Who Carly was to John on paper as just a tool to be used as bait is starting to get very complicated.”

What would you think of a John and Carly pairing? Would you prefer him with Anna, or neither of them? Let us know via the comment section and take our poll below.

General Hospital’s Steve Burton Reveals the Emotional Scene He Almost Could Not Get Through

On a recent episode of General Hospital, Jason received a message from his mother, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) via a note. The effect it had on Jason’s portrayer, Steve Burton turned out to be quite visceral.

As GH fans know, although Jason’s bio-mom was Susan Moore, he was raised and adopted by Monica. Speaking on his Daily Drama podcast with his co-host and GH co-star, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Steve shared some insight on the difficulties he had getting through that scene.

Burton shared that in the key moment, “Brooklyn (played by Amanda Setton) came in and that’s where she gave me (Jason) the letter from Monica. That was a very hard scene for me to do. That was a tough one. That was the one time I was almost going to call ‘cut!’  It read ‘Jason, I believe in you.’ I was literally going to walk off the set.”

To clarify and in the story, Monica was saying “I believe in you” and that she knows Jason didn’t shoot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). Steve added, “It was tough, man. Emotionally, it was a tough scene. It was overwhelming in the moment.”

Steve went on to detail to Anderson, “She (Brook Lynn) pushed it to me and I read it and she was walking out and I had to stop her, but I was so emotional I couldn’t even get it out.  And at that point, I’m like, ‘Do I just keep going … or do I just walk off the set right now?’ But, I knew just to stay, because it’s so hard to get back there, once you shut it down. I knew, the next take wasn’t going to be the same.”

It’s clear that Leslie Charleson is so missed on-screen as Monica by all of her castmates, and that Jason and Monica had a very special mother/son relationship throughout the decades on GH.

What did you think of the moment when Jason got a note from Monica that said, “I believe in you?” Were you touched as well? Let us know in the comment section. You can check out the latest episode of Steve and Bradford’s podcast below.

Who else would you like to see attend the nuptials? Gloria Cerullo (Ellen Travolta), any other blasts from the pasts who should be present? Let us know in the comment section.
