GENERAL HOSPITAL: Parker: “You Did Proposition Me!” Kristina: “Because You Wanted It!”

On Monday’s episode of General Hospital, the relationship between Professor Parker Forsyth (Ashley Jones) and Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) became a tad more clear,  or did it?

Parker, who has shown up at the Davis home, confronts Kristina on her smear campaign against her.   When she first arrives she even meets Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), and realizes Kristina has not told her mother that she was suspended from school.  That sets the stage for innuendos and more! Both women admit they’ve gone to great lengths to protect their secrets that would threaten their lives.  Parker goes on to say to Kristina,  “I admit it.  I have a good life.  I have a career, and a home, a wife  … I don’t want to lose it. ”  Kristina’s comeback is, “Yet, here you are!”

Next, Parker reveals: “I agreed not to talk to your parents, and you agreed not to talk to my wife.  But did you think these negative comments on the Professor Review website would go unnoticed?”  Parker believes Kristina was behind them citing: “A student disgruntled on her grades attempts to seduce me for better marks, and then said student when she was rightly served with a suspension starts a smear campaign …”   Kristina fires back “First, you accuse me of propositioning you, now of trolling you.  Which is it?”

Viewers learn that the duo met after hours and shared some scotch, and that Parker admitted to Kristina that her needs weren’t being met at home.  Parker still stands firm:  “Kristina, You did proposition me!” Kristina:  “Because you wanted it!”

Before she leaves, Parker tells Kristina it would be a shame to throw her life away on a single folly when she had just so much potential.  Then she remarks that Kristina better figure out what she wants and who she wants to be, before her parents figure it out for themselves.

So, what did you think of the confrontation scene between Parker and Kristina?  Do you think Kristina was just trying to seduce Parker to help her grades, but she is not really interested in women … or, do you think Parker’s final message to Kristina before she left rings true, and that Kristina better figure out who she truly is?   How do you hope this plays out?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

At least we got the backstory but I just found it odd that they spent almost the whole confrontation face to face 6 inches from each other.

Downright creepy!

I found the whole, “you wanted it” argument from Christina to be really disturbing. It’s not an acceptable argument for straight relationships, neither should it be for gay and lesbian ones.

And for those who object to “straight” Christina suddenly being gay, that doesn’t bother me. I think having a bisexual on the canvas would be really interesting. Now they need to resolve the Lucas / Brad relationship. Brad being married was dropped like yesterday’s news and all we’ve had since is a phone call between the two, all heard from Lucas’s side. GH should invest in this story. It’s a good one, plus it would bolster the hospital storylines which we desperately need!

And just another of the poorly conceived storylines.

Yeah, why did they do that? I thought they were on the verge of making out.

I really thought they were going to kiss on Mondays show! Who stands THAT close without smooching? Anyway, If Krissy isnt going to explore her sexuality, this is ALL a waste! I’m sure Parker rubbed other students the wrong way and they could have posted negative comments about the professor. Krissy shuts up, Parker shuts up, NEXT STORY!

Oops. I should have kept on reading. I always do this, Timmm. I repeat what you’ve already posted without realizing it. Lol. Later.

Thats okay sweetie, I used your theory about Valentin Cassadine. [I gave you credit] TCB!

So looking forward to this Storyline, im Hooked lol

Don’t want to see Kristina in a gay story line.

Oh, I sure don’t either. But when you think about it-all she has been through with guys & all she has seen her mother & Sam go through . . . but still no more gay storylines.

I agree with you. Don’t be so politically correct.

Me neither 🙁

Seriously. Why do soaps insist on turning straight characters gay? Kristina was head over heels for Ethan and Trey. Lucas used to like girls. So did DAYS’ Will. This is dumb and completely agenda-driven.

I agree with you 100% Maddie. The decision to make characters gay on soaps is done “will”y nilly, spur of the moment, like a writer’s meeting “Hey wouldn’t it be great if so and so was gay?” Thus begins the rewriting of history, character destruction, and other characters who “knew it all along” and are nothing but lovey dovey and supportive. Just prior to Will coming out on DAYS, he was being a nice sweet teenage boyfriend to Gabi, buying her flowers, and being a very loving, respectable young man. There was not a flicker of him being gay, he never secretly checked out guys, even though all his guy friends looked like models. Then overnight, he was made gay. What I would LOVE to see, although I don’t believe any soap has the courage to do it…is to have a character who thinks they might be gay, experiments a little, and realizes that it is NOT for them, and they are actually straight. But can you imagine the backlash that would erupt? GLAAD would be flag waving, and sending petitions, and boycotting advertisers. They would claim it is detrimental and defamation. It is ironic that many people say “It’s only a soap”, and yet ANYTHING that may show gay in a less than flattering light is immediately an agenda point for special interest groups. Strangely, gays want it both ways. Pun intended. They want only positive, flattering portrayals of gays on t.v., with unicorns and rainbows and lollipops, and yet they are just fine watching the straight characters be miserable, bed hopping, murdering, lying, etc. Case in point…Will’s murder on DAYS. Him being gay had nothing to do with his murder. Paige was a young girl with a bright future in the medical field, and no one barely blinked when she was brutally murdered. And going back 20 years to 1996, Frankie on Another World was a beloved wife and new mother with a husband and family. Her death scene was one of the most graphic and gruesome in daytime history (right up there with AJ’s murder on GH), and yes there was vocal outcry and fan discontent, with many claiming that it sealed Another World’s fate. But it was nothing compared to the ranting and raving that is still continuing about Will’s murder. People said it was because he was gay. People said the powers that be were trying to “de-gay” the show. People made it all about Will being gay. I think the new writers, when they took over, were actually listening very closely to message boards and fans, and tried to give the fans what they wanted! First order of business…Serena…general consensus was that Melissa Archer was a great actress, but stuck in the wrong role, a pointless, thankless role, and fans wanted her gone. Voila, she was the first victim. Second, was Paige. General consensus…good actress, hampered by bad writing, and fans were very neither here nor there about her. Seemed kind of extreme to kill her off, but her death had no major impact on anyone other than Eve, in scenes which Kassie DePaiva knocked out of the park. Third victim, Will. For over a year, the majority of fans posted online that they hated Guy Wilson in the role. They hated the character, they would not accept anyone but Chandler Massey in the role, and they wanted Will gone, basically. So that’s what happened. There’s that old saying “Be careful what you wish for…” Freddie Smith had already left, so there was really nowhere to go with Will, other than to make him a serial dater who sleeps around like every other soap character, only with other men. But, then the troops would be up in arms because it would make a gay character promiscuous. News flash…some gay people, just like some straight people, ARE promiscuous. By sheer necessity and design, the average gay person will have had more sexual partners than the average straight person. That is documented medically, and statistically. While struggling to figure out their identity, gay men, especially, need to figure out whether they are a “pitcher” or “catcher” (for lack of better terminology, lol)…they need to make sure they don’t like girls….sadly, drugs and alcohol are often a part of the lifestyle to deal with depression and other issues, and that also leads to sexual encounters. Also, gay people die, sometimes brutally, just like every other person on Earth. Nothing gets whitewashed or sugar coated for straight characters on soaps, so it should be the same for gay people. If they want to be treated equally in real life, they cannot cling to this staggering double standard when it comes to media presentation and entertainment. Do I want Kristina to be gay?? No, not at all. I hope she is just a saucy little minx who tried to blackmail her lesbian professor. However, IF the show is going down that road with Kristina…I think it could actually be one of the few times in daytime when it is done realistically according to what we know of gay society. She was abused by her boyfriend….most lesbians, if not all, were hurt, abused or molested in some way by a male at some point in their life. She has been off the canvas for a few years, so that time is pretty much a blank slate. Who knows what she was up to, or why she wasn’t in contact with her family much. I think Nancy Lee Grahn could have some hilarious scenes, dealing with the fallout of the coming out. Anything that causes Sonny distress, I enjoy because I vehemently loathe the character of Sonny, always have and always will. But I can hear the fluttering of cherubs as Sonny would be written as the most loving, devoted, accepting Father of the Year. (GAG!!) So, I am of very mixed emotions about this, and my post here kind of went off on several tangents. My major points….I have gay family members and gay friends. I am not homophobic. Do I dislike seeing gay stories on daytime television? Yes. It’s just not my cup of tea, and I have to apologize to NO ONE for that. Do I think this is a road General Hospital should go down, or needs to go down? No. However, if handled correctly, and written REALISTICALLY, I honestly think it could be well done. Kristina, if gay, is not an overnight insta gay like Will and many other gay characters on daytime. She follows a pattern seen and documented in real life…father issues, a perfectionist mother, teenage abuse, emotionally distant, etc. I look forward to your thoughts on my post.

Dylan, I think the majority of the backlash against DAYS for killing Will wasn’t because he was gay but because he was a legacy character related to both the Bradys and the Hortons. His death — coupled with the shabby treatment Sonny received by being seated in the second row at his own husband’s funeral and Paul’s sexuality disappearing in the blink of an eye — was perceived as a punishment for his being gay (if I recall correctly Will didn’t even fight back as he was being murdered). Will could just as easily have been written off going to Paris raising his daughter with Sonny but was instead sacrificed as part of yet another DAYS serial killer storyline to goose the ratings.

As for “turning characters gay overnight” unless you are gay you probably can’t — or in the case of some of the posters on here WON’T — understand what it is like to realize that you have feelings that can cost you friendships and/or relationships with your own family. For those who may skoff at that statement consider the fact that in the 21st century we have people trying to pass legislation that allows them to discriminate against gay people because of their religion but say that they are being discriminated against because they aren’t being allowed to discriminate. We even have some presidential candidates wanting to reverse the same sex marriage ruling because marriage only has value if it is available to a select group. Imagine how you would feel if you lived for decades waiting for the same rights as others and then waiting to have them taken away on a whim because some people view themselves and their views as superior to you and yours. Some people try to convince themselves that living a lie is better than facing that kind of hate and attempt to be someone they aren’t. “Turning gay” isn’t a thing; what is a thing is coming to terms with who you are and learning to love yourself even if those around you don’t.

Speaking as a 40-something gay man I don’t want to see gay people on tv put on a pedestal — I want to see people who happen to be gay facing the same problems as everyone else. Also, so many posters see gay characters as GAY characters which to them simply means SEX, DRUGS, AND MULTIPLE PARTNERS. I’m gonna have to call shenanigans and say that if gay people spent as much time thinking about gay sex as some straight people think about gay sex we would never get out of bed long enough to even eat our breakfast. When you look at a straight character do you think of them only as the sum total of their intimate partners? I’m guessing not — that’s because you probably view them as real people you identity with whereas you don’t identify with gay characters (and that’s okay). Just remember that there are other people who feel differently and for soaps to continue they need to reflect the world we live in. The next generation of viewers who tune in will tune right back out if they aren’t engaged by stories reflecting their lives and that includes not just gay characters but people of all races (man how I miss ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Vimal and Rama!).

I would be curious to know where you get the notion that “most lesbians, if not all, were hurt, abused, or molested in some way by a male at some point I their life.” Maybe they just like women. Also, I’m not sure where you get the idea — nor do I understand the idea — that “by sheer necessity and design the average gay person will have had more partners than the average straight person.” Gay people are not a different species. Promiscuity is not an exclusive trait — it is common in men and woman both gay and straight.

For all the commenters moaning and groaning about how they don’t want to see gay characters consider for a moment how you would feel if film and television only featured gay characters and no straight characters. Would you feel as though you were dirty and different and unworthy of representation? Would you feel left out of things? Would you feel like you were broken and alone? Now consider how young people coming to terms with who they are feel when they read some of the comments on here, including the word “queer” which has a negative connotation. Also, I find it ridiculous — and more than a little sad — that these same posters are more repulsed by a same sex relationship than the show’s hero being a mobster who murdered a man in cold blood. Seriously? I must not have gotten the memo about love being a four letter word and murder being totes kewl.

As for the reaction to Frankie Frame’s death being nothing compared to the reaction to Will Horton’s you need to realize that the Internet wasn’t what it is now and social media had yet to emerge. Also, in the twenty years since that storyline people have begun to realize that they know gay people both as friends and family members and perhaps they saw Will in a similar light since they had watched the character grow up over the years as opposed to Serena and Paige who were relatively new to the show.

Finally, I wouldn’t call having a character come out as gay “character destruction” — I would reserve that term for stupid plot points like having Michael forgive Sonny for murdering his real father and Carly for helping cover it up.

Well Dylan, now you’ve done it, this thread is gonna get 100 comments and 1,000 views, LOL. GH is trying to reach a young, hip audience I guess, when the majority of their audience is over 40 and heterosexual. They keep pushing gays to “test the waters” maybe. Look at what happened with Brucas. They had a whirlwind courtship, got engaged at the Nurse’s Ball (when most of us would rather have seen a couple we’d actually been ROOTING for get engaged .. Brucas was so rushed .. just like Wilson was). Rushing to that big gay wedding they were no doubt planning. So what happened? Ratings went down, that’s what happened, and show runners got scared. They fired RC and put the gay wedding on hold. So now they’re gonna try lesbians and see if that is somehow, more palatable. Why don’t they try writing a great heterosexual romance instead? I guarantee that would bring in the women. Instead they insist on these dumb storylines, like the Corinthos and Jeromes being the main families.. And now Julian and Alexis both have gay children. That is SO likely, when gays are 2% of the population. But then, DID runs rampant in this town .. and vampires. LOL.

And oh yes, I totally agree with both of you, Dylan and Alan, about Will. He was a legacy Horton and Brady and we watched him grow up on the show. Killing him off in such a gruesome way was so unnecessary. Putting sonny in the second row was insensitive, even if they were estranged. If it was because they didn’t want to do the gay story anymore, it was such a waste to make Will gay. They should have done it with someone else the audience didn’t care so much about. Someone who didn’t already have a history of being attracted to girls. I’m sorry, but the way Will was revealed as gay was so out-of-the-blue. He never showed even the slightest hint of being that way until Sonny appeared in town. And their whole storyline was about “educating” the audience. To me it was about “bashing us over the head with it”. Poor Lucas, who actually had a REALISTIC reaction to finding out his son was gay, was raked over the coals by everybody in town for not being IMMEDIATELY TOTALLY ACCEPTING. And there were dozens of scenes like that, with characters preaching at other characters. Ugh. Made me cringe. At least GH just put Lucas&Brad in bed and let the audience decide for themselves what to think about it.

Me neither. GH already has a gay couple.
Can’t we focus on the other couples- and see some happiness and love. Dante and Lulu just busted up, we rarely see Maxie with Nathan, Carly and Sonny are like an old married couple lol, Ava and DA is stupid, Nina and Franco have great chemistry but barely any screen time, and the only cute couple is Alexis and Julian. With some many people on the show, why can’t we get a good consistent storyline?

Whether anybody wants a gay storyline or not, it’s about the only option for Christina. She’s related to practically every single male in town except for Franco, Nathan, TJ, and Paul.

That’s what happens when a show has short term vision and allows one character impregnate half the town resulting in all the young adults being half siblings.

Such as Sonny?
I understand, (via Shay) that Sam miscarried Sonny’s child. Did I get that right? Well, anyway; imagine that! Her child would have been her sibling’s brother or sister…..All in the family!!
Sonny could start his own colony. Are we sure Lulu isn’t Sonny’s? Oh, my !!
My question is: what the hey is going on with Kristina’s eyebrows?

Oh, Alan, that post made my day! LOL. Well, two parts of my day. How very true. But I am CERTAIN lil cutie Avery is Morgan’s kid. Think about it……the character of Carly had the Paternity test IN HER HAND. Love Laura Wright, hate Carly. We all know Carly…and soap writing…..if there was NO point to Carly having a paternity test in her possession, it would not have been there. She’s a whacked loose cannon!! She views Sonny as Father of the Year, and thought her whacked out son couldn’t handle the news that he would be a dad. And that Morgan didn’t hate Ava at the time Carly did this switch. So either way, Carly would get to be the mother, or grandmother. Mark my words….Avery is Morgan’s!!!

I say go ahead and write a gay storyline but if so, do it right–make the couple pay fidelity to reality without giving into stereotypes and give the story some thoroughfare for cripe’s sake. AMC touched upon a lesbian storyline way back in the early 80’s when Brooke developed a bit of a crush on her doctor who was a lesbian. The doctor (she played Annette in Saturday Night Fever but I forget the actress’s name). They touched upon it and left it unfinished. Then Bianca, Erica Kane’s daughter, makes the big announcement and then that poor girl never gets a date. It was big news that THE biggest soap femme fatal in soap history, and who allegedly wore lace panties with the slogan, “Open all Night” had a gay daughter. But after the grand announcement writers did not know what to do with Bianca. She seemed to be relegated to a life of celibacy and then she was raped by that evil and horrid Michael Cambias (William deVry, now playing Julian Jerome of the turtleneck sweater). Then finally, after some hits and misses, Bianca gets a girlfriend Reese (Tamara Braun, the second Carly) who then utterly destroys Bianca by sleeping with Bianca’s brother-in-law, on whom she harbored a crush. So, therefore, Reese was not really gay but bisexual? After Bianca came out of the closet writers did not seem to know what to do with her so they relegated her to life of celibacy, misery and heartbreak thereby taking the gay factor out of being gay.
If you’re going to do a gay storyline then brushstroke those characters with shades of nuances of light and darkness and refrain from making those characters all bad or all good. That is what will make their story line interesting.
After all, gay people are human too and as Osgood Fielding says to Daphne (Jack Lemmon) at the end of Some Like it Hot, “Nobody’s Perfect.”
Indeed. Osgood Fielding is the poster child for tolerance.

Boy, there has been a lot of acrimonious bantering transpiring on this site as of late. Who’d have thunk soaps could inspire such controversy?
I wonder if we could discuss less controversial subjects such as abortion and gun control?

The AMC storyline you’re referring to was actually between Ellen Shepherd’s daughter Devon — not Brooke — and her therapist Dr. Lynn Carson.

I’d like more gay story lines. The straight ones are not at all compelling (except for Nina and Franco).

You’re kinda twisted, hey? LOL.

I too am charmed by the Franco/Nina pairing. Roger Howarth and Michelle Stafford are adorable together (and the fact they don’t have the taint of Sonny on them makes them even more appealing).

No, Dylan, I’m gay, and there is nothing twisted about it.

You are not twisted, Lil’ Angel. If you’re twisted, then I am happily twisted with you. I love Nina and Franco. I don’t really care what some say. We like who we like, and it is very rude trying to tell us we should not like certain characters because they don’t. By the same token, there are some who get all hot and bothered under the collar if we do not like who they like. There are many on these boards who feel superior to others; and, have a sense of entitlement. For myself? I do believe it’s because of my age. Ironically, ageism is not just for the elderly.
Homosexuality is part of life. I appreciate what maddiehayes is saying. The soap gods will put it out there for that reason and see where it goes. I have touched on this subject before. I find it repulsive how some people react to gay storylines. Not well received. That is exactly the reason, storylines, such as Brad’s and Lucas’s, are put on ice or cut short. That’s a shame.
I am straight, but one of my dearest friends ( since we were both in diapers) is gay. I love him as my brother and he is my son’s Godfather. He is married….happily. He is not permissions. Never has done drugs. Is not a drinker. We never, ever got into that lifestyle of drugs and alcohol. I have seen firsthand how cruel people can be to him. Gays are people, with a heart, with a soul, with feelings. So we should all measure our words.
As far as Will, Dylan does have a point. I remember trying to defend a certain position I took when Will ‘died’. I said Will was not ‘touching’ me as an actor. It had nothing to do with the character being gay. I did not think acting was his talent. Of course, I received so much backlash accusing me and others that Will was killed off because of gay-bashers such as we. I was one of the first to vocalize the insensitivity snd stupidity of killing Will. A core protagonist; the only young Horton to carry the name.
I do not mind a gay storyline, as long as ‘they’ keep up with it and not leave it in tatters. As I said months ago, I am still waiting for the Brad/Lucas story to pick up where it left off. By the same token, I am also waiting for Maxie and Nathan to move forward. Instead I have to endure Alexis and Julian preparing for a giddy wedding? There is nothing, NOTHING for the younger crowd to taste. Just heartache …Night.

Correction–promiscuous; not permissions

When you understand what you write perhaps you’ll understand why youve been accused of ageism. When you say a character is TOO OLD to be so sexual, TOO OLD to wear a low cut blouse and show her WRINKLY boobs, TOO OLD to want a grand wedding, TOO OLD to be so excited about being in love like she’s in high school, TOO OLD to have goals which should have been reached when young, TOO OLD to be romping around with a lover but should be home kniiting booties…the list of offensive ageist comments go on and on. And yet you continue with these comments as you gallop around this site on your high horse. TOO funny.

Love Nina and Franco too. You’re not alone…

AMEN!!!!!

Wait a minute…Frankie Frame died?
Well, thank you very much for the spoiler, ALAN!!

SHOULD HAVE MADE IT CLEARER…….AMEN TO NO MORE GAY STORY LINES.

Don’t worry Judy, your homophobia was made clear enough.
My God. Really?

All I ask is if GH goes in this direction they don’t react to the fear. DAYS killed/wrote off every gay character except for one who has been sufficiently neutered so that he doesn’t “offend” the viewers. Y&R still has zero gay representation and B&B only goes for the trending topic approach (their current trans story). I am not dying to know more but I respect that GH is attempting to start a story about an issue youth of today faces. I don’t care if it’s gay or str8 but college kids today are faced with all sorts of choices when it comes to discovering their sexuality. I don’t know what the plan is or where GH is headed with this but I am at least entertained by it. I’m holding on GH, don’t let me down. And for those who are upset over the Olivia Falconeri story on nursing mothers, while this is a light-hearted attempt at a story line I am enjoying it playing out. I love Lisa LoCicero in this role. She is magic and funny to watch in almost any story. Go Olivia — feed that hungry baby. I am loving GH right now. In my humble opinion I think it’s giving Y&R a solid run for their money.

Olivia is hilarious in this storyline & it fits in with Nina & Crimson & also draws Alexis in. Funny yesterday when Nina said see you at the shoot, bring the baby, make sure he’s hungry, ha. And when Olivia said I have to raid my closet & Alexis said what for! Olivia was so cute when she hit Julian on the shoulder, giggled & ran off & Julian is funny in this story too. It is definitely something different as are most of the stories on GH right now. Y&R puts me to sleep-haven’t watched in a week & can’t even read the recaps on Soap Central. Do something new! Sorry, didn’t mean to get so off topic.

I know, right, gloria? I was so pleasantly surprised by the easy banter between the ladies.

OMG!!! We don’t need another gay storyline . Why can’t Kristina be a student hooker who was busted with a male professor and Parker caught them in the sexual act in the class room. And Kristina decided to hit on Parker to keep her quiet, and if that not the case move on to something else more exciting than another gay story. Pleaseeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Ummm, that whole train of thought is ten times more offensive than the thought of a gay storyline. A student hooker? Really? Maybe you’d prefer another Billy Clyde Tuggle story line from 1975???

Mateo, you took what I said and turned it around to negativity against gays when that is not what I said. Referring back I said we don’t need (another gay storyline) I have nothing against the story we already have on GH, I am suggesting something new. There are plenty of college students male and female using their bodies to help pay for some of their debt off to buy food to eat to buy books etc, they don’t have or need a Pimp like Billy Tuggle from Amc to become a hooker. Wake up and stop being so negative and mean it’s just a dope, but in real life it’s happening.

I believe the original thought was “OMG!!! We don’t need another gay storyline.” What gay storyline are you referring to? The non existent story line with Lucas and Brad? God forbid we have 2 gay couples on GH… I am not being negative or mean. Turning Kristina into a hooker is more appropriate? While your point about students selling themselves has a grain of truth to it there is nothing more superior in her being an escort as opposed to being a lesbian. An escort is a profession, being gay is not. Comparing the two or suggesting an alternative idea of turning a character into a form of slavery because it’s not as offensive as being gay. I, along with many others, resent the implication that there is something wrong with someone coming to terms with their orientation. Sometimes that story needs to be told as well. Gay is not something that one can get “too much of”, there is not a way to interchange someone’s orientation with an illicit occupation which is what you quite clearly suggested.

Mateo, Its obvious that you only see your way, your thoughts, your opinion and anyone else thoughts or ideas regarding a fictitious character on a soap is offensive I never said anything about anyone coming to terms with them being gay or their orientation. You see what you want to see and turn it around to a debate on your personal views about other people thought. Well I am not one to debate you on gays. I was taught that if you don’t have anything nice to say to someone don’t! OMG, Mateo, please have a blessed life.

The rationale that people such as yourself use to ignore their own inner bigotry is that the other person is only thinking of themselves. Don’t come out saying “fictitious character” as if to say it is construed by myself as being real. The inference there is completely obvious. There is nothing one sided about the viewpoint presented. It is rational and coherent. It states clearly the viewpoint and gets the message across. It appears that you have an issue with standing your ground and use the very outdated adage about “not having anything nice to say”….the closing line “OMG, Mateo please have a blessed life” is nothing short of ridiculous. This has nothing to do with personal issues. I do stand by my comments regarding the critique you offered on the current story line. I don’t need to have a blessed life just because I have a viewpoint that differs from what you stated. My life is fully “blessed” right now but my opinion remains the same.

ohh geez, it’s getting worse and worse..
Breastfeeding and a another triangle..
WHERE’S THE ACTION!!!

You got Jake breaking windows and Sam falling down the stairs. That’s what J&S call action. Ugh. Meanwhile Chuck Pratt over at Y&R has this great umbrella story with the Newmans and the Abbotts fighting again and the computer geek working with Phyllis and Billy to screw Victor. Abby switching sides to work with Jack. Adam and Victor trying to get rid of the Santori family. I’ve been enjoying the heck out of it. Way better than anything happening at GH IMO.

Disagree

Y&R has one good storyline and it’s the one you mentioned which is their leading A story. Pratt has nothing going for him in the writing department except the Newman/Abbott stuff which is why it’s on every single day.

The supporting stories are just terrible and they don’t have even one decent B story. Neil, Hillary Devon is horrible on every level. Anderson, Nick, Sage, Sharon, and Dylan with the baby switch is just beyond outlandish and ridiculous. Stitch, Abby and that kid is boring as hell as is Lily and Cane reuniting for the 25th time.

The number one storyline at Y&R is better than GH’s number one storyline but GH currently has better stories everywhere else than Y&R.

You want action, Suzie Q? Let’s switch the baby with Julian. Olivia would love that.

“I” don’t know… I’d hate to see Alexis raising another child

her virtue is so tight

her standards are highly sought

ugh! when she accepted Julian proposal… and wants a church wedding

argh! just leave town Alexis

it’s too much energy to be involved with her… ex-mobster, ex-playboy, ex- priest…

however you spin it…

how is any man…. (clue : she’s never had ONE ) for any length of time….

so… for me… Julian is wasted ! WASTED on the likes of Ms. Supreme Court

@su@Patrick.
SuzieQ was talking about boring breastfeeding and she wants action, Patrick. I guess my stupid comment went over one’s head? Switch the baby with Julian….dumb joke, eh?

Hey, CeeCeeGirl….Just wanted to clarify that Sam’s baby girl with Sonny was stillborn. Her name was Lila.

@Shay.
Thanks, babes.
…fact remains, Shay…it is revolting for mother and daughter to have both slept with the same man, whether either was aware of their kinship or not….even after the fact.
Sam is beginning to grow on me. I do like Kelly…so, it’s probably a reflection of that. I still find the character as boring as heck; but I am starting to understand her persona. She seems honest, more so than Liz. ….who, by the way, is being elevated to good-girl-mother-friend, suddenly. Was Sam always straight forward and honest, even with all her other ‘flaws’? Later.

I’m hooked…great story potential and bring back Ashley as Parker. These 2 could be awesome together

I agree this is 2016, People get married for years and one of them realize they are gay. Love is Love and this is every day struggles! They both bring this storyline alive. Ashley Jones is a phenomenal actress and GH has lost its momentum. The boring storylines last forever and others start and don’t finish! I am all for Parker and Kristina getting back together. There is so much chemistry between them especially having a challenging storyline.

Monday’s episode was so awesome….the scenes between Kristina and Parker were charged and I just knew they were gonna kiss….there was humor with Nina when she asked Franco if “her aunt Lisell had not ordered his watercolors”….love the scenes between Dante and LuLu….they were very touching, and I actually teared up when she walked out after signing the papers…have to admit that GH is on fire with the emotional scenes….it’s the only soap that’s kept me interested…actually loving the writing team and hope they continue with these emotionally character driven stories……the best moment, though, was little Jake and his “Home Alone Macaualy Culkin” hands on face shocked look when Sam fell down the stairs….if she had not been wearing her classic “hooker pumps” she might not have fallen….just kidding….

I’m not against gay stories or characters but the show doesn’t write for the gay ones it has now. What’s the point in adding more who will just get shelved in a few months like Brad and Lucas have been?

So let’s not only allow the gay story to get shelved, but let’s not write any new gay story because it will PROBABLY get shelved too? That’s not very solutions-oriented.

Daytime needs another high-profile lesbian since Bianca Montgomery is off the grid. And it’s the daughter of central (much as I hate how central) GH characters Sonny and Alexis. And maybe she’s NOT gay and just doing whatever messed up thing she needs to do to survive at college? (Remember Y&R’s Adam sleeping with gay attorney Rafe to keep his secrets for him, even though Adam wasn’t gay?) We don’t know yet what the real roots of the story are, but I’m frankly SHOCKED that so many people are balking at “yet another” gay storyline, when in all honesty, GH has still never REALLY told one. When? Liz’s high school teacher and possible rapist Mr. Murty came out as gay so he couldn’t have been her rapist? Lucas came out as gay, got beat up, and disappeared off the show for 6+ years? Lucas came back, came out all over again to Julian, and sees Brad every three months for a smooch in the GH halls and talks about Brad’s wife, who we haven’t seen since the straight marriage reveal, and we still don’t know why they were even married? There has been NO gay storyline on GH, only gay characters who have popped up every now and then to say “oh hey”.

And Lexi Ainsworth is a talent I was thrilled to get back on GH, I’m relieved they are not only investing in her but BUILDING a story around her, and hiring a talented, high-profile actress (Ashley Jones, who has a long history with both Y&R and B&B) to interact with her.

And the standing so close was hot. Definitely sounded like (and looks like!) Parker wanted it. Bring it on. If I can’t see a hot gay couple on GH, I’ll ABSOLUTELY accept well-acted lesbian angst to get some sexual diversity back in daytime.

I’m so with you… from an acting standpoint… this is ON !

Lexie Ainsworth and Ashley Jones… are bringing it

the one thing that bothers me…

When in their conversation…Kristina brings up how “her” parents won’t be happy about this…. etc

and Parker brings up…. ” Oh, the alleged mobster”

therein : was this the nail in the coffin already ?!?!

I HOPE NOT…

Ashley Jones walks in the door .. and belongs in Port Charles

@David…. “sexual diversity back in daytime”

YES !

T’WO badly conceived storylines.

I agree they need to let this storyline play out! They are attracted to each other Age. Has nothing’ to do with it. We need more Parker and Kristina.

I don’t want another queer character either. I haven’t felt bad for Dante and Lulu since Julie left the show. I hope we get more Valerie and more Dante and Valerie. I just can’t get this Dante and Lulu.

I don’t want another straight character either, so I feel your pain.

Lol. Too funny.

“Another queer character.”

I’m assuming that some people don’t understand the negative connotation of some words…

See? It’s remarks like this….so rude and immature. Can you say gay? Do you understand the connotation attached to the word ‘queer’? There a few on these sites who have been open about their sexuality. I find nothing strange or odd about these gentlemen.

Another good episode.

Kristina and Parker are hot as hell. The sexual tension was so strong in the room. Lexi and Ashley played those scenes so well. Loving this storyline so far and can’t wait to see what’s next cause they left it open to interpretation. The line of their scenes was when Parker said you propositioned me and Kristina said back you wanted it. Wow! The way they were standing so close. Hot! I have been hoping for a lesbian storyline for a long time now so we will see where it takes us in the months ahead.

I completely agree with you on this one! How can there be like no interaction between the two with a topic like that standing ever so close?! I was on the edge of my seat just waiting but no. Although the remarks were just as good.

Yes I agree they are strong together they are magical and they help out people dealing with the same struggles. They are bringing it to life! They need to bring it back and stop waiting. Who cares if they are straight gay lesbian WELCOME TO LIFE! Al have equal rights

They have been doing a fantastic job together it is a challenging storyline and they were fantastic. GH lost sight of this storyline and it is a shame! Ashley Jones is a phenomenal actress and can play anything! Lexi really brings it alive too! They need to continue this because too many unanswered questions and it really is a shame to keep fans waiting for so long

I have to say I have two gay friends who have told me if a woman was in relationships with men and they had been physically abused sometimes they seek a relationship with another woman. Think Kristina’s abuse storyline years ago.

I have a lesbian friend who told me that almost all the lesbians she knows were raped or otherwise abused, and so was she. When I suggested maybe that was why she wasn’t attracted to men, she didn’t get all offended and on her soapbox, she just said no, she’s always been attracted to women.

Hi, Maddie.
I hope your friend was not suggesting that a lesbian is a lesbian directly because she has been raped? Hmmm. Sadly, a woman is raped more often than we think….they do not come out lesbians from the tragic experience….not unless they were lesbians to begin with. We are not experts, so none of us should start speculating on the mysteries of sexual preferences. I can tell you that my friend’s parents took him to see one psychologist after another from the time he was 12 until he was 17 because he displayed ‘unacceptable’ behavior for a boy……..to no avail. There is nothing wrong with him; never was!! He loves whom he loves. Perhaps, some of us should have a good read on ancient Sparta.
Are we so closed-minded? So closed-hearted? And this 2016? My heart truly bleeds ……

Hi,
No one can speak on the human psyche…not even experts, sometimes. We all have an opinion, but nothing is really fact.
What really saddens and bother me is how some posters talk about gays as inhuman, from another planet and not part of the human race.
In ancient Sparta, if I remember my ANCIENT HISTORY studies in University; the military used to encourage same sex relationships to bolster morale. Why are we still discussing something that has always been here and will always be here. For those of us who believe in God, we are His creatures. Are we to blame God? Homosexuality exists in the animal kingdom as well. So, what is the big deal?
Right, kay?

Hi CeeCee, I’m only relaying what my friend told me. I’m sure there are others who would refute what she says. Everybody’s experience is different. As a victim of abuse myself, I can tell you it does affect the way you think about sex. And men. It didn’t make me a lesbian, but it did make me wary.

Hello, my friend.
What you say makes so much sense. Trauma affects people differently. I sympathize . I thank God and the forces, I was lucky enough not to have experienced that dark side of the world. My point is, (not you) that people assume and generalize. We cannot blame completely , in this case, homosexuality, for one’s sexual preference. Personally, I believe, it is inborn. We all have certain tendencies, some more than others. None of us is able to put a label or a reason on anything….my point.
Thank you, Maddie, for your reply. You know, I always enjoy your comments. Later.

Thank you CeeCee for your always respectful replies 🙂

The truth is same-sex attractions do exist in individuals. Some are more inclined than others. You and I do not understand it, but for them it seems natural and real as our opposite sex attractions are to us.

I thought it surprisingly interesting but a mess to say the least.

I consider myself a politically incorrect social conservative, but I’m also a life long soap fan. That said, let’s keep the focus where it belongs; on the story and the actors who play it out. I for one am a huge fan of Ashley Jones since her days on BB. Her scene with Lexie was compelling, a little freaky, and definitely kept me interested. So far the only things that’ve bothered me are; Molly’s self righteous attitude towards her sister and Alexis not picking up on the tension and electricity between Parker and Chrissy.

If we want our soaps to stay on the air, the envelope must be pushed with good writing and even better acting.

I am so over the soaps making every show about gay people. THat is whyr atings fell during the Lucas/Felix/other gay guy episodes. I left show thenc ame back whent hat was over. It is their choice but I come to soaps for escape not to have it thrown in my face.

It makes me sick how so many people are ignorant/hurtful toward the fact of the love/attractions of homosexuals. Being gay/lesbian does not signify that you were abused/raped or any of the above idiotic comments. I feel compelled to write here because as a young woman I realized I was gay. I had numerous boyfriends and tried to date guys so my parents would be proud. I did not feel romantic towards any man, and I fought with the feelings inside for a long time. I knew people were close-minded and it would effect my personal relationships so I left my home and family for a year, and moved into a college to get away. I am now home my family accepts me, I’m married to a wonderful woman, and have a gorgeous little girl. I love general hospital because of the storylines if Kristina is gay that would enlighten some close-minded viewers hopefully the writers can touch upon the struggle of how ignorance hurts not only the person but the family as well. I don’t say stop playing straight storylines, because to me love is love and seeing love is a beautiful thing. Stop being so judgmental.

Ok, so for whatever reason(s), Mr. Fairman has deemed that my comments are no longer approved for publishing. I don’t use profane language, I try to NOT insult the actors on a personal level, I don’t write novels and yet my last 3-4 posts didn’t make it onto this site. If you feel that you have enough people visiting and commenting on your board than I congratulate you for it. You have just lost me as a participant here. Best of luck to you, your boards and the fans. Oh, and I’m quite sure this won’t get posted either.

Bi-sexual Kristina storyline ok, gay Kristina storyline no!! Has the powers that be forgotten Kristina was crazy in love with Ethan and then Trey….hello!! Maybe just a seducing the professor for grades storyline as it is a relevant issue in today’s college scene. GH hasn’t resolved the Lucas/ Brad storyline regarding Brad already being married, so going to start another gay storyline that won’t be followed through. Bi-sexual storyline hasn’t been explored yet. Just my opinion

There’s a difference between accepting that there are people around you who are gay–friends, coworkers, neighbors–and feeling interested in watching what goes on in their bedrooms. Generally, most people like to view love scenes because they find them erotic. If you’re straight, you might not find a gay love scene erotic and vice versa. Nothing wrong with that. The daytime soap audience is still mostly straight women. What’s wrong with making a show that appeals to that audience? Are there no soapy shows for and about gay couples? If not, there should be. Then gay people could enjoy watching what turns them on, and straight people could enjoy watching what turns *them* on. Seriously. Why try to force a bunch of middle-aged straight women to get turned on by gay bedroom scenes? Probably not gonna happen. And it’s not about “bigotry.” It’s about what turns you on and what doesn’t.

Ok now all these comments are ridiculous. 1. it doesnt matter if she turns gay honestly. Plus its a soap. get over it shit happens. I mean Lucas is gay and that was his decidion to make and Kristina can do the same. Although she is kinda confused on what she wants but still she’s open to women. If you don’t like seeing gey romantic scenes then simply dont watch it if you don’t like it or not interested in it. Other people might be. 2. They’re pretty much both at fault. ( Kristina and Parker I mean) Obviously Parker was attracted to her given the facts we know and Kristina thought “why not” after all she’s open to women and Parker “wanted it” 3. And honestly it was just hot XD!!! I mean they were so close, how can you stand there so close and not do any interaction what so ever?!? Thats like a moment to smooch or something right there I mean come on!!! Also this is like the first lesbian storyline everything else is gay like Lucas and Brad. It may be the first but it is freaking awesome! There just has to be action, especially if Parker see’s potential, so why not show what she’s made of and give what she “wanted”……..i think that sounded pervier than I anticipated lol

It was hot! They definitely have chemistry. Can’t wait to see where this goes!

The Kristina / Parker story is the first one in a very long time that I’ve actually been excited about. I’m a huge NLG fan, and even Alexis and Julian finding each other and getting married wasn’t as good as this. I was so happy when Parker said she was safe – she was married, older, in a position of authority, so there was no way she would ever respond. I hope at some point they address transference. And I hope like hell Kristina and Parker move forward and into a relationship. There is so much they can do with this. I think Lexi has come back a much more grounded actor, and Ashley Jones is fantastic. I’d not seen her before, and I’m really impressed. The two of them together were the perfect mix of awkward, tender and fiery. I hope GH decides to keep them together, with the necessary bumps in the road along the way.

Nancy Lee Grahn’s Star-Studded ALS Fundraiser Reveals “I’ll Be There” Video Featuring Soap Opera Notables

Talk about your impressive line-up! It’s a soap fans dream and for a great cause. General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) is prepping her one-night only ALS fundraiser which will feature many of her friends and co-stars.

The benefit is set for May 4th in Glendale, California. Slated to participate are Genie Francis, Jane Elliot, Peter Bergman, Maurice Benard, Eileen Davidson, Thorsten Kaye, Michelle Stafford, Stephen Nichols, Rena Sofer, Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Claire Egan, Maura West, Kristina Wagner, Gregory Harrison, Trevor St. John, Kate Mansi, Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, and many others.

On Wednesday, Grahn took to her social media and released an “I’ll be there” video shout-out featuring, Monaco, Elliot, Bergman, Bernard, West, Harrison, St. John and more. In a touching and important moment in the new video, Michelle Strogny, who is battling ALS, is featured.

Photo: ABC

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

For information on Nancy’s event, including the stars who are s scheduled to participate click here. To purchase tickets to the event click here.

Check out the video featuring Nancy’s friends and co-stars below.  Now let us know, your thought son the line-up for the benefit and helping raise awareness and funds for ALS research via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Learns Britt Died and Tells Anna He Has Been Working For Cates Since November 2021

On the Tuesday, March 26th of General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and the viewers learn about where Jason (Steve Burton) has been for over two and half years. However, Jason gets some news of his own.

Anna is visiting Jason at the PCPD interrogation room. She asks him if he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which he flatly denies. Anna believes him, but she tells Jason it doesn’t matter, because video footage shows him on the roof at the time of the shooting

When talk turns to Jason not willing to speak without his lawyer present, Anna can’t grasp why Jason would instead spend an hour alone talking with John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

Photo: ABC

It is then that Anna brings up that John went by “Jagger” and that the two of them knew each other in high school. Jason doesn’t recall much of his time in high school following his brain injury, but then he gets furious realizing John knew about “Jason’s” past. That is when Jason slams the table and tells Anna, “I’ve been working for John Cates since November 2021.”

Next, Jason explains further that he has been working as an informant for the FBI. Anna wants to know how this came about and he tells her that after the tunnel collapsed, and he couldn’t make it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)… all of a sudden he sees Anna’s face drop.  Anna is the first person to tell him that Britt died and was murdered. She tells Jason the killer is in custody, but he continues to be shocked, overwhelmed with tears welling up in his eyes. Realizing he has to pivot to save his life, Jason continues telling Anna how he wound up working with John.

Jason explains that after the tunnel collapse in Greece, FBI agents grabbed him and placed him under arrest and took him to Quantico where he met John. At Quantico, John played a recording of RICO violations and offered Jason a deal if he agreed to be an informant against Pikeman, the illegal arms dealer.

Anna hears from Jason that he thinks Pikeman is selling illegal arms to anyone flagged by the NSA but has ties to the WSB which they needed a civilian to infiltrate their organization as a military soldier, a mercenary.

Jason tells Anna he was a part of the team brought into eliminate Sonny (Maurice Benard). Every time an attempt was made on Sonny’s life over the last two years, a different team was sent to do the job. Anna gets furious when she learns that John told Jason his job was to kill Sonny and she was with John at the warehouse that night. Jason ensured the sniper missed Sonny and left the rifle behind. However, they were supposed to meet an extraction team. Before he was shot, Dante saw it was Jason on the roof and when he turned around with his hands over his head, Dante was shot by the other guy. Jason says if Dante dies, he’ll be charged with capital murder and then will be useless to the FBI.

Photo: ABC

Meanwhile, John visits Bobbie’s and runs into Carly (Laura Wright). She learns Jason is in custody and is going to head to the PCPD. Before she does, Carly has some words with Cates when she learns not only does John have a vendetta against Sonny, but Jason too.  Carly tells John he should recuse himself from the case.

So, what did you think about the moment when Jason learned Britt died? What do you think of Jason’s return storyline thus far and what we learned about Jagger/Jason and more? Comment below. But first, check out a moment from today’s GH with Jason and Anna.
