GENERAL HOSPITAL: Patrick and Robin Remarry & Leave Port Charles! What Did You Think Of The Episode?

It was a very emotional day for not only the fictional characters of the Scorpio-Drake family and their beloved friends, but also for the actors who were watching viewers reactions unfold on social media, while also sharing some heartfelt behind-the-scenes photos from the taping of their final episode together.  Of course, we are talking about Jason Thompson (Patrick) and Kimberly McCullough (Robin), who off and on for ten years created screen magic together as one of the most memorable couples in soap history, Patrick and Robin.

Now on to their grand finale on Thursday’s episode of General Hospital.  As they prepare to start life anew in California, Patrick and Robin at the urging of their daughter Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) get remarried in Port Charles in front of their family and friends.  This tearjerker unfolded and provided Scrubs fans with plenty of hankie-filled moments.   Chief among them was the wedding.  As Mac (John J. York) presided over the ceremony, Patrick and Robin renewed their vows, but not before each of them said their own vows to Emma.  Patrick vowing to make sure Emma’s life in California is just as special as it was in Port Charles, and Robin vowing to never leave Emma’s side ever again.   Moment by moment throughout the episode it became harder to distinguish where the story was unfolding and the real-life goodbyes were happening, because this was indeed Thompson’s last scenes.

After the nuptials, Carly (Laura Wright) finally thanked Robin for bringing Jason Morgan home!  A storypoint that needed to be addressed, because as you recall, Carly and Robin got into a major spat at the hospital shortly before Robin up and left her family to find Jason.  Best friends Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst)  and Patrick shared an emotional and heartfelt goodbye.  Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) and Robin also shared some special moments before the ceremony and after.   We also noted the moment where the old Billy Abbott ( Miller) wished the new Y&R Billy Abbott (Thompson) well in a scene between Jason and Patrick.

In a touching moment, Sonny (Maurice Benard) thanked Patrick for all of his support and help in getting him this far in his recovery.  Since Sonny’s legs started to move, Patrick told Sonny this is all very encouraging, and he is left in the care of wonderful doctors who will oversee his case.

In a another heart-tugger, Anna (Finola Hughes) gives Emma an airline ticket.  She tells her granddaughter she can come to visit anytime she wants.   Later, when it’s time to say goodbye, we noticed a very special hug between longtime scene partners, Finola Hughes and Jason Thompson as Anna and Patrick said farewell.  Of course, there was also the scene where Anna and Robin said another heartfelt and heartbreaking goodbye – the best mother/daughter on-screen duo on the planet.  Mac also gives his love to Robin as well in another heart-tugger as does her father, Robert (Tristan Rogers), who also tells Patrick to look after his daughter.

In one final moment as she looks around at the Drake home, Robin flashes back and remembers moments of her life with Patrick in a montage.

Finally, the time has come.  Anna tells Patrick and Robin they better leave if they plan on catching their plane.  In this bittersweet moment, they say their final goodbyes and walk out the front door with Emma between them … off to their new life and to their new adventures together as one united family.   They get their happy ending.

Watch the Scrubs montage that aired on yesterday’s episode below.  Then let us know:  What did you think of the episode?  Did you reach for the hankies?  Which moment got to you the most?   Share your sentiments in the comment section below – one last time for the love story of Patrick and Robin.

The show needs another doctor…bring back Steve Webber even if recast…don’t pair him back with Olivia…have him paired with Sam…this way Liz and Jason who should be paired can invite Steve over for dinner and he can bring Sam as his supprise date!!!!…lol

boy are they milking “Jason” and the women in his life for every thing….(Carly, Sam, Liz)

on the latest SOD issue on the newsstands

front cover… 2016 storylines

Pic of Jason and Sam : “Starting Over”

??? ” I ” don’t care… I’m just wondering how long we have to “ugh” through this till Jason sees the light and returns to Liz

so… no surprise to any one who’s watching

it’s the Carly and Sonny ; Jason and Sam SHOW

story potential !!!!!

1. Nicholas and Hayden ! GH! for the love of serial ! give this couple some POWER… they are far and away the best couple on this show!

2. Nina / Maxie / Dylan : Crimson intrigue… MICHELLE STAFFORD IS ON! this actress is finally up to snuff… up to par… on how loved her acting REELS.
LOL… Nina and Franco have consummated their LOVE

3. Franco and Liz ! ally join forces espionage… against all their enemies ! let it be … new layers of how much fun this could be

4. CARLOS is still alive wanted and “loved” > LOL… Finola Hughes is a rock… Finola Hughes is a gem… Finola Hughes is a one woman show… I realize Anna MUST exact revenge for Duke… but at the expense of Carlos ??? god… these two actors must love working together ! it’s just a danged shame! every one else in the danged cast is exonerated except my beloved Carlos! he just brings so much to the show and elevates right along with the cast.

well… I guess that answers who on GH I miss most… Carlos
on DAYS of our Lives : Kassie DePaiva’ Eve.

anyways… outside of overlooking all else on the cast… “ugh” Carly ? Sonny ? Jason? Sam ?

“ugh”

BLEH! I mean, BLEH! Patrick!!! I think Nina and Franco are about as appetizing as liver and onions.
Of course, maybe some have a hankering for liver and onions but that segment of our population is very few and very far between.

@Harry,
Many people loooove liver and onions; with salt and pepper? Deliiiish! Try stir-frying Italian peppers and a red one as a splash of color….hmm, hmm, good! HaHa!

Noah Drake should of been there too

Noah is at the hospital where Jason and Robin will be working. He pretty much got them their jobs.

I meant Patrick and Robin. Got the actor’s name confused with the character.

@MR
Too funny…I like that.

What struck me the most is that more legacy characters have been ushered off canvas, another core/historical family gone.

I understand KMC isn’t a full time working actress, but JT left because he was underutilized, Mac & Felicia are basically not on the show anymore and I doubt there are big long term plans for Robert.

So when I see Frank & Varni giddy over the exit of these characters, it turns my stomach.

Why aren’t Mac & Felica on GH? Two iconic figures on the show and on soaps.
John J York has built something on GH, he is a super actor and a damn handsome man. And Kristina Wagner? Felicia Jones Scorpio? Are you kidding me? And how absolutely gorgeous is this woman? Honestly, how gorgeous?

But there’s no room for them, to take their rightful place as patriarch and matriarch? We don’t have these two icons on GH but we have Julian running around in a turtleneck and Serial Killer Franco sexing up a woman with the mind of a child? This is how you attract General Hospital fans? And yes, that was General Hospital fans. Unbelieveable.

They dont even show Scott and Lucy…i dont know what happened to Ric???

ITA…WTF GH

Could not agree with you more on all levels, AJQ. Thank you for your comment.

You realize now, of course, that the ONLY two families left on GH are the dark, immoral mob families: the Jerome/Davis clan and the Corinthos clan. When the Scorpio-Drakes left, they took with them what is left of GH’s light and moral center. They cannot be replaced. And won’t be. A big gaping hole is left in the show’s fabric: the hole where its heart used to be.

They need to shore up the Quartermaine family and bring back Lucky and, now that Genie Francis is under contract (at long last and long overdue!!!), let the Spencer family be front and center–(if they can redeem Nikolas)–and, for heaven’s sake, let Laura be the titular head–and moral center–of the show.
And——how about some levity in the program? We’re overdue for some humor, aren’t we? That could easily be accomplished by giving Laura a passionate love story and love interest. (I’m still lobbying for James Read–who was so great as a baddie on Days–to come into Port Charles as a “mystery man” attracted to Genie Francis’s character Laura.) And TPTB could certainly bring in some of Laura’s “long lost” relatives to shore up storylines. And where is Epiphany’s other family members? A black family could certainly balance out the show. And she Endless possibilities–especially if they remove Julian, Franco, etc.
And Mac is so fine–let him and Anna have that detective agency–John J. York is such a warm, relatable character. Or give Police Commissioner job back to Anna and hire Mac, etc.

Yep. Today’s show was so blah compared to yesterday’s. I am interested to find out what happens to little Jake, and of course, Kirsten & Brandon are such a cute real-life couple, will look forward to their scenes. Everything else was FF material.

I think unfortunately the direction GH is headed in, dropping very likable, long-term characters, coincides with their overall programming philosophy. Look at their nightime linup – it’s comprised of flashy, cheap thrill stuff, sex and violence. Look at how little they invest in scenes with Anna and Robert, like the rescue of Robin. It was quick, little money spent on it, no suspenseful outdoors stuff and far from the quallity adventures Anna, Robert, Luke, etc. went on years ago. Crime is “in” at ABC, heart-centered drama and good acting doesn’t mean much to them anymore, day or night.

Ugh…I know, Tristan. Don’t remind me, Lol. Dealing with Sonny and his cohorts day in and day out is not too appealing.
Nancy has good ideas; especially about Mac and Anna…..which reminds me. I never realized what a good looking guy John York is. He’s hardly ever on, so I hadn’t really gotten a good look (unintentional pun, lol). He and Felicia are stunning together. Did I mention how beautiful Christina Malandro Wagner is?

I enjoy the Alexis & daughters clan interaction. They are not dark – and not boring either. The conversation about sex in Kelley’s was good, I thought. I liked how the writers generalized the dialogue to touch on several storylines on the show.

AJQ…..LOL… “Julian running around in a turtle neck!!!” That was so accurate!

I 100% agree… would it not have been wonderful to have spent maybe a week ( they take an entire week on that Nurses Ball) interacting with some of our old favs such as long conversations between Mac and Robert….more depth with Robin and Robert, and most especially a very special loving mother/ Daughter talk between Robin and Anna?

Why the rush push… it’s not like they did not have advanced notice, they had the actors sitting there, why not use it?

Pathetic waste of talent… Felicia had next to nothing to say….

Somebody needs to filch one of Julian’s beloved turtlenecks for the express purpose of cladding the cleavage-flashing Alexis ….’twould be especially apropos to cover up her wares what with the frigid East Coast winter temps which have finally arrived!!!!

Every comment you make is SO spot on AJQ. The waste that this show and this production team have made with all their new characters is just a tragedy. Nina and Franco first and foremost. Ava Jerome as well, along with Paul Hornsby (whom I was excited for until he turned into YET another DA but secretly a mob criminal.) They just don’t get it, at all.

Much of the poignancy I felt watching Robin and Patrick leave is for the loss of what they represented for the show.

The “unedited” version of this episode is on the ABC site, hosted by Finola Hughes. It has more flow, and Felicia speaks!!!!!!!!!

Well, about the best that can be said is Patrick and Robin finally “got there” in the end…and not a moment too soon!!! But what a colorless, nearly joyless ride they took us on to arrive there! First of all, the talents of phenomenal Finola Hughes, Tristan Rogers and Sebastian Roche’ were totally underutilized….the latter two especially seemed merely placed as props to further the very basic plot points required to reunite the Drakes and send them off on their way. I could not have been more disappointed!!! Ditto for the absence of Rick Springfield as Noah….although I could certainly understand if the actor felt no interest in returning for this most lackluster farewell….if he were even asked, which one suspects was not the case! Everything came off as so bare bones and basic that it was difficult to even engage in the storyline…that’s how perfunctory the whole thing played out. It was only the goodwill that longtime viewers held for these legacy characters that inspired any sort of sentiment or satisfaction from this sadly succinct scenario…..it rather reminded one of a CliffsNotes version of a soap opera!!! Having said that, I tend to agree that the departure of Jason Thompson’s Patrick and his family heralds yet another huge pivot from happenings of historical GH characters to more force-fed farces featuring the cringeworthy newbies that inspire no interest, emotion or loyalty from the audience. To say that this trend does not bode well for those of us desiring more emphasis on the traditional aspects of Port Charles life is an understatement! Lastly, about the only positive comment I can add regarding this sorry episode is that we were blessedly spared the presence of the always self-centered, look-at-me, OTT antics of Floocy Coe, since the writers wisely chose the revitalized and once-again dignified Mac to officiate over the most abridged nuptials. Thank God for small favors!

Hi Shay. Thank you for your reply. I am a relative newbie to this board, so I really appreciate your clarification of your comments, with which I largely agree!

Hi Melissa…
You will find on these boards a select few who feel sex over a certain age uncomfortable to watch, inappropriate, not realistic, laughable. The comments directed at Alexis by a few people are repetitive, and continually aimed at Alexis and most definitely because of her age: she should no longer show her cleavage (at “her age” it’s no longer attractive”) and related comments. Her sexual relationship is continually mocked…because she’s so crazy about Julian sexually…”at her age”…even though it’s behind closed doors. It’s continully been pointed out by same few, very few, but frequent poster (s) that Julian should be with someone younger and more attractive (ina certain poster’s eyes) like Olivia…who seems to be held up as a model of virtue because she is younger and sexy… By the way I usually love Olivia…but to insinuate that she’s better than Alexis at anything…Olivia, a woman who goes out with gangsters..from Sonny to Johnny….lol…most women on GH either do have or will…is just again ignirinf anitger character’s actions but citing Alexis, as “inappropriate” because of her age. Same posted compares Helena, (who I too love…as a villain) to Alexis…becauss Constance Towers, who plays Helena, dresses so beautifully and that how a woman…of a certain age…should dress. Not like Alexis. Alexis, axcording to this poster, should take a lesson from Helena, Anna, Monica…on how older woman should dress and behave. Same postsr seems to blur the lines between the actress, Nancy Grahan, and exresses that Nancy is too willing or perhaps choosing what her character Alexis wears..and thus Nancy is put down as well for being over fifty and showing cleavage.
It’s a consistant judgmental, haughty view of a female character, Alexis, based on her clothes and passion (again…normal sexuality, passion, of a woman in a monogamous relationship wirh a man she loves) and even of the actress herself…based on her age…which, as I nentiined, is constantly brought up. Make no mistake these comments are ageist and offensive to women.
Oh, and the explanafion that Alexis is somehow responsible for Olivia having Julian’s baby is absurd. So it’s “appropriate” for Julian and Olivia, who couldn’t stand each other at the time, to fall into bed, have passionate, wild UNPROTECTED sex..and lol..somehow that’s NOT high school, irresponsible behavior…but Nancy aka Alexis is supposedly the inapprropriate one.

It’s okay for Olivia to go from Johhny Zaccara to Steven Weber to Sonny to Ned and now obviously is going after Julian…pushing herself into their lives, bringing portraits of herself with Julian and son, imposing herself all over Julian, but it’s Alexis that acts desperate and “needs a man?” And as a side note Alexis has been nothing but gracious and patient…i would have put Olivia in her place as doin as she started showing up…and if it was the other way around Olivia would have brought her Bensonhurst attitude out a long tine ago abd shut Alexus down.
I think we agree on women ovef fiftty being portayed realistically…as passionate, sexual beings. Actually, bith sexes. Theres’s nothing “high school” about it.

Brilliant, awesome, the best – The Scorpio-Drake’s are the heart of GH.

Yes I totally agree… I always loved Patrick and Robin together…I did not like him with Sam at all…!!!

It was everything my little scrubs heart desired!!!! I will miss them!

It was beautifully done. All the scenes were raw and real. Nothing felt “acted”. The very last scene with Anna, Robert, Patrick, Robin and Emma was extremely hard to watch. There is such a love and respect between them that can never be replaced. This was a magic group of people that fought through the last couple years of story and acted their butts off. No matter what they were given each scene felt real.

A huge, huge thank you to the writers and producers for giving “scrubs” a wonderful send off. We can all imagine happier simpler times for the Scorpio-Drake family. *Maybe even a family filled with more kids… Come on, Emma’s basically perfect, it’s time for Patrick and Robin to make more fabulous babies. 😉

Thank you Jason Thompson, Kimberly McCullough and Brooklyn Silzer for putting their heart and soul on GH for years. I hope they all get what they dreamed of in 2016.

My sentiments exactly–leave it to the WOMEN writers to give the viewers (and actors) the respect they deserve. Keep up the good work, writers.

Awesome Episode!!!! Love it sooooo Much, i had to watch it 5 times lol Goodbye Scrubs.

A little underwhelmed. At least Patrick and Robin, with Emma in tow, got married again. But the rest of the wedding party seemed like window dressing except for a couple of wrap-up conversations between Robin, Carly, Liz, and Jason. I realize it was short notice, but no music, laughter, festivity to speak of…Maxie where were you? Robert barely had a line, looked like he was on a lunch break from Y&R, and only one daddy/daughter hug…sorta…and then folded chairs and pulled a luggage piece outside. Felicia warmed a seat…that was all. Nothing between Anna and Robert…no meaningful glances, smiles, hugs, hand-holding for this occasion, or each other. Where was Epiphany for Young Dr. Drake? And I don’t think inviting Sam would have been such a bad idea since she helped hold the fort down while Robin was gone. Between her and Patrick a friendship and bond had to have been formed…both having gone through the same sort of thing and “rediscovery” at about the same time.

I thought it odd that Felicia & Robert weren’t used as well as they could have been. At one point, pulling luggage, I was worried the only dialogue Robert was going to have was to echo what (Emma?) had said. Glad that they could be on the set – special people in the lives of Robin on the show – & agreed to be there, even if not given their moments in the sun that day themselves. Maybe next time!

Sometimes simple ceremonies like this one, without gowns and special sets, are the best. The attendees were the people who meant the most to Patrick and Robin and their family, and they also happen to be longtime vets on GH. I was happy with how the wedding was done and what was said and the true emotion on the set. That said, I do think it’s a shame that a lot of these characters are not featured more on the show, like Mac, Felicia and even Robert. I know TR is on Y&R but he’s recurring there and could be used more on GH. I also felt that the Scorpio-Drakes departure was the end of an era. JT was a talented leading man on the show and will be missed. I hope that for GH’s sake, they hire another charismatic, talented actor to play another doctor and fill the void that his absence creates.

End of an era is right. The era of must watch GH. No more doctors left at the hospital unless one counts Lucas. (Anyone seen Lucas lately?)

I loved it. Both Kimberly and Jason wore their hearts on their sleeves in the episode. While the entire story wrap up seemed rushed at times, the actors never let the lack of material diminish their efforts in giving the audience their all. I loved watching this family unit over the years and it felt as if a little bit of the heart of the show left with them yesterday. I will miss them.

I haven’t yet seen the episode, as I will binge the week’s shows over the weekend. And really, I am kind of putting it off because I cannot bear the loss of this family! But from all reports, GH did the little family justice in the send-off.

There is a rumour afoot that 10 minutes were edited out of the show, which Nathan Varni claims will be put on ABC.com. Would these minutes include lines spoken by Felicia and Robert, who were both reportedly reduced to props in the episode?

The show has edited scenes previously that would have been nice to see during the broadcast…. if only they would cut a few commercials instead 😉

The “unedited” version of this episode is up on the ABC site, hosted by Finola Hughes!!! It flows better, and Felicia speaks!!!

Thanks Tristan!

So beautiful. I especially loved when Patrick gave Emma a hug and kiss when she walked down the aisle, because you could really tell it was Jason and Brooklyn in that moment, not just Patrick and Emma. Robin and Patrick’s words to each other felt more like Jason and Kimberly than just Robin and Patrick, and the vows to Emma were fabulous, too, and the montage was wonderful. You could so tell Jason was saying goodbye to family on the show: Finola, Laura, Becky, Maurice, and especially Brooklyn and Kimberly. I did love his scene with Billy Miller, because it looked like not just Patrick and Jason wishing each other good luck, but Billy giving Jason wishes for all the best as he goes to Genoa City to play the role Billy played not so very long ago.

For me, the heart and soul of GH has left with the Scorpio-Drake family’s leaving, but I am so, so, so happy they have their long overdue, muchly deserved Happily Ever After.

Here’s something to think about GH fans…the oldest male contract character (not actor) age-wise on GH is likely Julian or Sonny with Sonny being the longest male character/actor consistently on contract (since 1993) from the 90’s – I guess you could count Jason and Julian as characters from the 80’s, but obviously not same actors who are still relatively new. Sonny would be followed by Nicholas (TC off an on) from 1996.

Sure, there are others who are recurring – Scotty (off and on since 1977) and Mac (1991) are still around but rarely seen with even less screen time from Robert (off and on since 1980) and Kevin (off and on since 1993) but no longer contract characters. There is rarely any representation of pre-early-90’s GH for male characters…and I’m not counting Paul Hornsby – the character (not actor) started one month after Mac in ’91 – nor Lucas who was born in 1989 and Dillon born in 1992. Ned is no longer on show either.

The character of Robin should have been recast or killed long time ago if Kimberly didn’t want to stay on the showt. That way Jason would have had better story and Brooklyn would still be on the show. Quite often I am sad when an actor chooses to leave but is just that, their choice. And sometimes the character needs to still be on the show. In this case the part should be recast and, in my opinion, the GH casting director does a great job. I quit watching Y&R when Billy Milller and Michael Muney left and really have no desire to start watching again even if Jason Thimpson is going to be on.

Well at least they had the decency to let these characters ride off in the sunset together as a family– leaving the door open for future returns. If this was another soap, the dark one, then they would of all died in a plane crash or if Ron was still writing it, I’m sure masked men would have barged into the wedding and whisked little Emma away, so Robin and Patrick had to leave town to search for their missing kid. Sometimes sweet and simple works the best, so kudos to GH for being brave enough to usher them off the canvas in a positive way.

A wonderful episode indeed. I will watch it again. I wish JT and KM the best in their new roles as Billy Abbott and Director. Thank you GH for a fantastic episode. I wish more episodes were more like this one.

Best episode I’ve seen since the last time the Scorpios were front-and-center, two years ago! The only thing holding me to GH now is Tristan is coming back as Robert soon. I love the Jones family too, but where is Nathan?! I get the feeling a Maxie/Dillon pairing is in the works, and I cannot watch that. Can’t watch Jasam, not after Jake has been so much in love with Elizabeth this past year! I WAS interested in seeing Jason reconnect with Sam UNTIL Liason won me over. Now it all feels like so much fan-service, a game of “fanbase tag” if you will, where’s the story?! Laura doesn’t have an interesting story or love interest. Cannot abide any of the mob-related characters. GH has lost its magic with the exit of the Scorpio-Drakes. As others have said, they were its heart and soul, and it’s never gonna be the same. But I’m so grateful to GH for giving them a beautiful ending. Loved every minute.

Hearing that Robert and Felicia were under utilized seems disrespectful so km not sure I’m raging to see the episode anymore. I’d like to see Robert and Anna have a real conversation about their past and what happened when they dissapeared.

Agreed. I kept waiting for those meaningful conversations to happen between Anna and Robert; and for Felicia to comfort Mac as he had to say goodbye to Robin – again. For that matter I was expecting a nice exchange between Robert and Mac. We got none of it. Just weird jumps to other stories that jolted us out of the wedding scenes.

And btw, how amateur hour was it that the cast had to pull the folding chairs out of the way while a scene was playing! All I could hear was the scraping of chairs.

The chair scene seemed so out of place, especially with vets/high priced talent.

It was really good. They didnt have much time but this exit was done so much better than Luke’s. Luke’s was fast, cheap and they brought in stunt casting characters with NO good story and the Frank Smith part was STUPID! Scrubs was done with dialogue, heart and clips. Jean and Shelly, good job! Now lets restock the hospital with hunky doctors, sexy nurses and what about an x-ray tech or a nutritionist? They do work IN hospitals! Cut O, Sabrina and that guy who stole Kevin’s job, bring Doc back, Steven Lars, Tom Hardy and Liz’s sister. Hey if the Scorpios are all but gone and the Q’s are thin, why not bring on Liz’s family? Oh, how about us seeing Brad and Lucas again?

And please, please, please! Get rid of Franco (particularly in the hospital) and Nina!

I enjoy Franco & Nina – have appreciated their chemistry since the art therapy friendship scenes!

I guess I’m one of the few that likes Franco, but mostly because of RH and mostly because they are morphing him into a good guy. Once they lost the rights to Todd Manning, GH should have brought back RH as an entirely new character. Instead they saddled him with a creepy character everyone hated and I think that is the #1 reason fans still can’t accept Franco, despite RH’s considerable charm, humor and skill as an actor.

I liked Todd Manning on GH. I despise Franco. RH could have been Jimmy Lee Holt’s son (thus a Quartermaine). He could have been a Cassadine. Heck, he even could have been a Jerome.

The fact that he was cast as Franco simply illustrates the poor business judgement of Frank Valentini and the over-the-top cartoon orientation, coupled with the over-the-top ego of the former writer.

Steve Hardy would NEVER let Freako work there! But then again, look who is the chief of staff. Dr. O is a criminal! Let her be the new Helena. Its a joke she is in charge of the hospital and secondly, you never see her!

Timmm,

Ditto: it was really good. So satisfying to see the characters together as a family, happy, and off to a new adventure. I loved the montage.

I like your ideas for re-staffing GH, which really needs to happen.

I loved the scenes today with Liz and Laura. It reminded me of how close they were after Liz was raped. I’d love the see Laura as the new head of a Webber-Spencer-Cassadine clan. Let’s give her something to do other than pick up the grandchildren. Wasn’t she a social worker? Put her to work at the hospital and let her stories begin with unraveling the mystery of Jake. I can’t believe he’s not in therapy; hasn’t been dna tested; hasn’t been “de-briefed,” etc.

I should add: Thank you to GH for giving the viewers what they wanted for Robin and Patrick. If Jason Thompson had to go, then this was the way to do it. I so appreciate that no one interrupted the ceremony; no one kidnapped Robin or anyone else before the ceremony; no one came in guns blazing to take out Sonny. A simple episode with love, family, friends, and joy. What a concept!

Its a joke! Liz knows how evil Helena is or was and Liz is a nurse! Yes, why the hell isnt Jake in therapy! I wish Lucky would come back and be there for Liz. Maybe not now but later in the year. It doesnt have to be JJ. Greg was a fine recast!

i am all for bringing back some of liz’s family members – i mean she is the grand daughter of dr steve hardy who was the first doctor seen on gh when it started in 1963 and was the original patriarch of the show……….

Since I have never met Liz’s family, I would love to see a few of her relatives.
By the by, elm, do you think Liz is concocting the ‘break-in’ just to keep Jason around?

I 100% agree… would it not have been wonderful to have spent maybe a week ( they take an entire week on that Nurses Ball) interacting with some of our old favs such as long conversations between Mac and Robert….more depth with Robin and Robert, and most especially a very special loving mother/ Daughter talk between Robin and Anna?

Why the rush push… it’s not like they did not have advanced notice, they had the actors sitting there, why not use it?

Pathetic waste of talent… Felicia had next to nothing to say….

HOWEVER… just a thought about Brooklyn ( Emma) Jason T taking over the role of Billy A opens a door to a possibility of his daughter Delia ( who supposedly died) to be somehow alive and well…..THAT would be a glorious fun reunion… plus Tristen Rogers does still play Billy’s father in law… just a thought…

A rushed mess from start to finish.

No Robin/Robert scene. No good-byes between Emma and Cameron and Spencer. No Epiphany and Drake Jr. scene. No lines for Felicia.

But let’s be honest — would we really have wanted to see any of that if it had meant not having Sonny and Carly at the wedding stealing screen time from the Drakes and their loved ones on their final episode…?

It would have been worse not to have Sonny & Carly there, I think. Considering the history they all shared with Robin. It was nice to see Carly & Robin close that loose thread. Sorry it wasn’t your cup of tea, though. I understand the passion behind your sarcasm!

Yeah, I didn’t get why they had more face time with Robin and Patrick than their family members!

I love Franco, Melissa. I suppose I am also one of the few. Everyone is so down on him and Nina. They are doing an admirable job with what they are given. I’d rather watch them than listen to Sonny stumble through his lines. Believe me, I wish Michelle would reprise her role as Phyllis, on Y&R.

@Melissa…..I saw your comments to me on another GH thread, but since you had no direct link, I’m responding here:….Although you are certainly familiar to me, I’m not sure how long you’ve been frequenting these “boards,” but, for the record, I’ve been more than consistent in equally condemning Alexis and Sonny, not to mention other characters, on their less than admirable moral failings! (In fact, our good friend, CeeCee, and I have had an absolute field day mocking the “Dimpled Don’s” most unsavory virility and far-reaching propensity for procreation….) So, for you to think my disgust has been solely aimed at “Alexis-At-The-Ready” is a completely incorrect assumption….In the past, I’ve cattily commented upon the sleazy antics of Lucy, Scotty, Bobbie, Ava, Ric, etc….Just saying. Still, I have to admit that shambolic slapper, Ms. Davis, has been my favorite punching bag simply because she just makes it soooo darn easy!!! And a great part of that is her utter desperation for a man, as you have so cannily observed…..an excellent case in point would be her behavior on New Year’s Eve of 2014/15….the thought of having a sexless evening of celebration was so anathema to her, that she “settled” for a tacky Metro Court tryst with Ned, despite knowing she supposedly still loved Julian….in utilizing Ashton in her selfish revenge sex scheme, she also enabled the conception of Leo, as a heartbroken Olivia and Julian mutually took comfort in each others’ charms in response, and no, I most definitely do not characterize what they did in the same vein of “revengeance” as that of Ms. Davis. Had it not been for her own tawdry romp, none of that which followed would have ever transpired…it was purely the typically bad choices of Alexis that set that second sexual mash-up in motion. In other words, she of arrested-development totally reaped what she sowed in terms of her own egregious example of childish conduct, yet she sanctimoniously and hypocritically condemned Julian and Olivia for doing exactly what she had done, but in a much less calculated and premeditated manner. That is what I find to be so maddening and galling about this character, along, of course, with her propensity for highly inappropriate, tart-like attire. As far as I’m concerned, her repeatedly irresponsible antics are indefensible, and that has absolutely nothing to do with nixing the notion of romance for the over-50 set….rather, it’s her complete lack of class and common sense that I’m decrying, which, dare I say, should be something one would have learned in their early years of adulthood, not to mention, by their fifth (and then some) decade of existence!

It was my pleasure, Melissa! I had noticed a number of your recent comments, and may have even replied to a few prior to this one, but I didn’t realize you were new to MFSoaps, so please allow me to extend a belated welcome! I always enjoy the fresh perspectives of posters like yourself, so do keep those comments coming! They’re great!!!

Great episode, well acted by all:)

NOW THATS A PERFECT SEND OFF!!!! THANK YOU GH❗️❗️❗️

I like the cheesy send off! It was sweet for us “Scrubs” fans and although it seemed even more Robin centered than Patrick, I liked it. I will miss them, their family unit, their “realness”, I am so glad the stupid Robin kidnap story is over!!! I do hope she continues to visit once in a while.

This show has really had its ups and downs. I am sad to see Patrick leave, he is one of my favs!!!! I am disappointed that they couldn’t find him a new woman who he was compatible with and had chemistry with. He and Sabrina did not have it and neither did he and Sam. Although they had potential until…. Jason.
I am a Jason /Sam fan and want them back together. Every time I ever write on this, i always say GH needs a couple to cheer for and watch a romance unfold, like we did in the flashback of Robin and Patrick. There seems to be no real dating or romance on here. It is just like, hi, kiss and we are moving in together.
I have hopes for Franco and Nina- they are sweet but if GH doesn’t start putting together something good for them, I bet those excellent actors will want to leave too!

Too many people on this show and no one has an intriguing story. I am hopeful for 2016!

From your mouth to the writers’ ears.

That was a beautifully done episode.

GH is crazy to let him go but I am glad he is going to y and r!

“oh, heck…”

I haven’t even finished Thursday ep’

3 things that instantly had me tearing up

1. Mac… officiating the Wedding… I’ve always liked Big Mac! theres something comforting about him…

tearing up now… needs to be said… he always took care of his girls… so this is like frosting on the cake… him letting go…. and celebrating…. Robin… w/ Maxie, (even Georgie). DANG it tho! (@AJQ) Felicia is “absolutely” a stunner !

2. watching Emma… as the flower girl
3. when Patrick knelt down and kissed his daughter !

I , am in agreement with most … it was the simplicity of it all…

renew the vows… shared unrequited love… and family ever after

celebrating … “SCRUBS”

Sunday : blubbering over Scrubs and football

“i’d like that return ticket to Port Charles”

was touching how Anna is sharing with Patrick

“I’m grateful that you met my daughter”

there’s no one like Finola Hughes !

I’m content with the send off

“Scorpio-Drake”

The only saving grace this episode was the flashbacks. THOSE brought a nostalgic tear to my eyes. Other than that, it couldnt have worked less for me.

First, after all the buildup, devote the entire episode to the wedding! They could have included Ephiphany, Spencer, Cameron, Nicolas and the obgyn (cant remember her name) if they hadn’t incorporated other actors/storylines into the same show.

Robert Scorpio. He barely spoke a line at the wedding let alone the entire few days he was back. They’ve completely neutered his personality. As for Felica, they might as well have put her picture on the chair she was that unanimated through no fault of her own.

There were no tender moments between Scorpio, Anna, Robin . The cake was barely eaten…why bother to have the props if you’re not going to make use of them…

All in all disappointing…

The wedding of robin and Patrick it was good to see them back together husband and wife again

Perfect day for the wonderful soap family who were finally able to reunite.
sorry to see them leave GH. You never know when they might decide to
visit Port Charles again. Best of luck in their careers. Great job!!

Trashy Tacky and Rush.. The wedding seems more about KMC working with BM and JT say good bye to BM

@CeeCee – after seeing elizabeth jump up off the couch when she heard the noise i don’t think she is involved – i really think it has something to do with the cassadines but that is just my opinion

I’m thinking it might be little Jake in an attempt go get them back together…

now that is a possibility – he also could be carrying out some strange plan that helene may have programmed into him – she programmed his dad jason so why not lil jake too……………….lol

Hi Elm…lol….you never know…There’s a few possibilities concerning Little Jake…

He’s not really Little Jake…though I doubt that because there would probably be too much anger from the fans…

He was, and I agree with what you suggested, programmed to some degree…

He’s just psychologically effected and in need of therapy which should have been offered right away if for no other reason than to assess him…

Or, he’s miraculously okay..,but just acting out.

Dunno but I think there’s bound to be some trouble with him down rhe road…

I never cried so hard they need to win a award!

Loved it!

Carley is fantastic, a great actress. I love Emma, sorry to see her leave.

I really like Franco, but I think he needs to be “cleaned up”, he is not clean looking. Sometimes the story line goes on too long. Jason needs to decide Liz or Sam.
I don’t think Olivia can act worth a darn.

Loved the reunion, however, hate seeing Emma leave. Love Emma and Spencer’s banter. Now, where are the DOCTORS on GH ? It’s called General Hospital and we have : 1 doctor and 1 nurse !!!! There are more mobsters on GH than doctors. Something is wrong with this picture !!!!

Now for Sam and Jason!! Nuff said!!!

Now for Sam and Jason!! Nuff said!!!

Now for Sam and Jason. Nuff said!!!

Sam/Jason next?

Cameron Mathison Previews New Game Show ‘Beat The Bridge’ (Promo)

As previously reported, Cameron Mathison (Drew, General Hospital) will be seen doing double duty this summer when he premieres in June as the host of Game Show Network’s Beat The Bridge.

Now, while Cameron will be the host with the most, that doesn’t mean he will stop playing GH’s Drew.  In fact, Mathison taped the game show in 2023, so it will now air for the first time in 2024.

Taking to his Instagram this week, Cameron shared his enthusiasm and some new hosting snaps, sharing, “Our newest game show host reporting for duty😎 Head over to the Game Show Network YouTube channel for your first look at the show and don’t miss Beat The Bridge premiering this June! I can’t wait for you guys to see this!”

In Beat The Bridge, an enormous interactive bridge dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. As they play, each steps forward and puts money in their team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. Here’s the catch: the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one of its players back across before time expires.

Meanwhile, on GH, Drew and Nina (Cynthia Watros) recently had hate-sex. Do you think its a one-time deal? Where will Drew’s story take him next under new head writers, Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte? Stay tuned.

Now below, check out the first promo for Beat The Bridge from the Game Show Network with you host, Cameron Mathison.  Then, let us know, will you be checking out the game this summer? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nina Confronts Ava for Sabotaging Her Relationship With Sonny and Signs the Divorce Papers

Looks like Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Ava (Maura West) are back to be each other’s sworn enemy number one. By the end of the Monday, April 22nd episode of General Hospital, the women know where they stand with each other after Nina goes in on Ava accusing her of wanting Sonny (Maurice Benard) all to herself, while her marriage has been on the rocks.

In story, at Nina’s office, Ava shows up to see Nina and says she is sorry about what happened with Sonny and that he reacted the way he did, acknowledging that is was over the top, even for Sonny. Ava says she’ll smooth things over, but Nina says she now understands how manipulative and transparent Ava really is.

Given their horrible history, Nina goes in on Ava and how she should never have trusted her. Nina wants to know how long has Ava had this agenda dating all the way back to telling Nina to turn Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC. Ava says she never told her do to that, but Nina wants to know how long Ava has been playing her for a fool.

Ava says she moved in with Sonny to keep Avery safe and she wants to be on good terms with Avery’s father, Sonny. Nina thinks she likes being in Sonny’s inner circle. Ava tells Nina if she goes to him about her advising Nina to call the SEC on Carly and Drew, it won’t work.  Sonny still considers Nina a traitor and he will think she’s lying because she’s so desperate to win him back. Ava says if Nina would stop blaming everyone else that maybe Sonny would respect her.  Nina says “like he does you?” Ava says Sonny not only respects her, but he also counts on her.

From there, Ava launches into why she and Sonny understand each other, after all, Sonny is a powerful, turbulent, and sometimes violent man. She goes so far to say if Nina wanted someone to just sit by the fire with and play with their grandchildren, she’s got the wrong guy.  Ava then talks about Mike from Nixon Falls (Sonny with amnesia) and how Sonny hid the darkest parts of himself from Nina back then, whereas with Ava they are the same similar creatures, so he doesn’t have to hide anything.

Nina wants to know just what Ava wants with Sonny? What is her end game? Ava responds that they understand each other, in ways she can’t with Sonny. Nina tells Ava she can go ahead and have it all and signs Sonny’s divorce papers. Ava walks out with the documents, while Nina in tears at her desk, takes off her wedding rings and has her assistant come in so she can messenger the rings back to Sonny’s address.

The episode and these scenes featured great performances by Cynthia Watros and Maura West. You can check some of the scenes below.

Now, let us know, what is Ava’s next move? Is she going to become Mrs. Sonny Corinthos? Do you like Ava and Nina as enemies? Comment below.

Ellen Travolta Makes Another Return to General Hospital

If General Hospital’s Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) nuptials are on, you didn’t think Grandma Gloria Cerullo would miss out on the festivities, now did you?

Casting news from Soap Opera Digest reveals that Ellen Travolta is back taping scenes that will air the week of May 13th on the ABC daytime drama series.  When viewers learned that Carmine Cerullo, was also on his way back to Port Charles, now in the face and body of actor George Russo, it only made sense that Grandma Gloria would join Grandpa Cerullo. Look for them both mid-May.

As most people know, Ellen is the older sister to John Travolta. She first make appearances as Gloria back on GH in the mid-90s. Most recently, she returned to the Quartermaine mansion to meet up with daughter, Lois (Rena Sofer) and granddaughter Brook Lynn for Thanksgiving in Port Charles in 2023.  Michael Fairman TV interviewed Rena Sofer and Amanda Setton late last year where they shared what it had been liking working with Ellen, who remains very close to Sofer in real-life.

Amanda shared: “We fell in love immediately. What’s crazy is my maternal grandmother was Grandma Gloria. I had her till I was 30 and we were so close. She was really like a second mom to me. So, when I got this script and I’m reading “Grandma Gloria”, it was so bizarre. And then in meeting Ellen, she looks like my grandma – same haircut, same high cheekbones. It really did feel like I had a few days with my grandma. It was very, very special for me. Ellen is sweet, prepared, professional, talented and funny to boot. So, it was one of the best weeks I’ve had at work. I hope she comes back. My fingers are crossed.”

Now, we can’t imagine Brook Lynn and Chase’s wedding day to be smooth sailing, in fact, expect just the opposite, but could it be Grandma Gloria who is ultimately the hero or the calming voice of reason for any pre-wedding jitters? Stay tuned.

So, glad to know that Ellen Travolta will be back for Brook Lynn and Chase’s big day? Comment below.
