GENERAL HOSPITAL: What Did Laura Tell Luke To Make Him Stop His Engagement to Tracy?

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

On Monday’s episode of ABC’s General Hospital, the story picked-up from last week’s Friday cliffhanger where Genie Francis returned as Laura Spencer right in the middle of Luke (Anthony Geary) and Tracy’s (Jane Elliot) engagement party on the Haunted Star!

But while fans waited for an explanation as to what Laura was doing back in Port Charles with no immediate answers, and as the guests made snide remarks as to why Laura came waltzing back into Luke’s life at this point in time, and especially when she was apparently nowhere in sight during Luke’s complete mental meltdown, eyebrows were raised instead of one big happy reunion.  Even Laura’s daughter Lulu (Emme Rylan) was trying to comfort Tracy and reassure her that “her dad” loves Tracy.

Laura and Luke left the main room of the Haunted Star to go speak privately, but when all was said and done at the end of the episode, Luke came back into tell Tracy and their guests that he was sorry, but he can’t continue with his engagement. Since, whatever Laura told Luke was off-screen, what do you think she said to make Luke stop his engagement to Tracy? What is your theory?  With only several weeks left before Anthony Geary departs General Hospital for the final time and head writer Ron Carlivati having teased some one last adventure in Luke’s story point, could it be that Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and Ethan (Nathan Parson) are in trouble? Is this about the Cassadines and Nikolas (Tyler Christopher)? Is someone’s life being threatened?  Or, perhaps when Luke was Fluke he remarried Laura?  None of the above? Comment below!

Lucky is in trouble, and why in hell you still with boring Tracy

LOL!!! Yep, I believe so. Would have liked to seen that conversation though.

I agree, Dinah. I cannot say for sure that it is Lucky….however, it has to be something drastic; something lifechanging. And, having to do with Lucky is an excellent guess.

I agree with you Cee Cee, Lucky Spencer is in trouble. Maybe Helena has Kidnapped him.

Yes Lucky and Nathan are coming back for Anthony departure so I dont they are in trouble I read that Jeannie Francis and Tony said that they had run their story line and will not end up together but they say it will be a sad goodbye

I have watched general hospital from day one when it was only on for 15mins each day. I did read acouple of months ago when Anthony GERRY SAID HE WAS LIVING THAT the writers were going to kill him off because he didn’t want anyone to think he was coming back and if so he didn’t want anyone else to play him. I did read it had something to do with LUCKY. WHO KNOWS WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN,THEIR DID SAY THE END OF JUNE HE WOULD NO LONG BE ON SHOW LOL.

I couldn’t believe how much animosity everyone had towards Laura. Lulu was sheepishly accepting, but Bobbi and Carly? I thought they’d be happy to see her. I guess they are going with Badass Trouble Maker Laura this go around, and not Victim Laura or Mental Patient Invalid Laura or Laura the Adoring Mother. I, for one, would like to see an official, FINAL ending to the Spencer-Cassadine War. Bring in the classic elements, turn Nickolas completely to the dark side, bring in Faison and the Britch, Holly, Sean, Tiffany, Ethan and Lucky. I want to see the happily ever after for Luke and Laura. I really do. Tracy is sticking around, I’m sure, after Luke leaves. I’m rambling now. LOL.

Bobbie and Laura have always been somewhat on the outs-due to their history with Scotty. I was surprised by Carly’s reaction-but Carly was being her typical self-meddling into everyone else’s affairs and not minding her own business. HA!

all I want is Steve Burton back !!!

I didn’t understand the hostility toward Laura either. I mean, Carly’s always just the worst anyway, but I’m sure Laura and Bobbie had worked things out.

I didn’t really see it as hostility as much as I did that everyone was exasperated that Laura would show up at just that moment and snatch happiness away. Bobbie was there with Scotty, who had been married to Laura when we all last saw her. I think people just didn’t want the upset at that particular time.

I know, right? I felt the same way. The way the others reacted to Laura’s entrance was akin to the reaction Alexis Carrington received when she walked into that courtroom on Dynasty. One would think Laura had a reputation for being a shit disturbing shrew (forgive the language, but sometimes it is necessary).
And Carly was engaging in her self-righteous rant about how Laura was not there for Luke while Luke went through his latest mental breakdown. Do folks forget that Laura also had a mental breakdown which left her in a comatose state for years also caused by the guilt of realizing she had killed the only father she knew. She has been through hell and back, just like Luke.
Lulu was a disappointment and while I adore Tracy, I hate it when she acts possessive and insecure.
In short, that was a really odd, somewhat disappointing scene. I can only hope it gets better.

Completely agree Harry, very disappointed with their NASTY, SHREWISH behavior.
Obviously Laura’s appearance is directly related to Lucky being in some kind of trouble,
Holly will be there for the same reason, in regard to Ethan. They will work in unison to
save their sons, is Helena possibly behind this double abduction?? There was absolutely
no connection between Nu Lulu and Laura, I’ll even go as far as saying Lulu was RUDE &
unwelcoming, making her mother feel like a complete outsider. Why couldn’t FV give Emme
a few day’s OFF and bring in Julie M Berman it would have felt genuinely real…

For what it’s worth, Harry; I agree. This is the first time I have been introduced to Laura. I’m not sure what I expected, but the whole scene was not it!
Carly should not be one to talk….she’s never there for her kids, sooooo……..
Then there’s Lulu. I’m not sure what the relationship with her mother was/is, but if I hadn’t seen my mother for that length of time, I would have showered her with kisses and hugs, smiling from ear to ear with joy! All I saw was aloofness and frigidity. Could it be that the awkwardness derives from the fact that Emme and Genie do not really know each other? Is this their first time together on GH? Their actions when embracing were stilted.
I could not believe that Lulu was crying for Tracy and then ran after her. Why? Is there some kind of animosity simmering and lurking beneath the ashes, between mother and daughter?
Watching this episode just struck me as weird, in its entirety.

I’m inclined to agree with Dinah who proposes Lucky is in trouble. That makes sense. So, they both came up with a cockamamy story. Why they could not disclose the truth remains to be seen.
What does it all mean? Obviously Tony is leaving, we know that. So, will Luke be off on his white charger, galloping away to rescue Lucky? But, then, where does that leave Laura? Will she be exiting with Luke? Will she stay behind?
I did not like today’s episode. Something was lacking….just can’t put my finger on it.
Laura’s entrance was very disappointing for me. Maybe, I just had a bad day!!

Cee Cee: if you had a bad day then I did also.
I think Laura and Luke want to stay up all night to “Get Lucky.”

The Unwelcoming committee of Wasps in Port Charles is disheartening, who R
they to pass judgment on Laura… Pleeeeease…WHAT A JOKE.
Tracy is undeniably jealous, she’s always felt like she was second choice
second in line, second best. Thanks in part to Edward, Alan, the Exes…
Bobby-Jean feels threatened, naturally due to Scotty. Carly is simply full of
unwarranted opinions, mind UR own beeswax. LULU SHAME ON YOU!!
for practically leading the pack, what a disappointment. Whatever happened
to defending your OWN. You have to respect Dillon for having his Mothers back.
Of course Laura took it all in stride, because cream rises to the top.

Laura and Carly have a history because of Liz it goes way back. My understanding GF had to be persuaded to appear at the Daytime Emmys and to come back to GH I assume she is getting tired of being used by ABC .

Carly and Laura used to be involuntary business partners who clashed on decision making responsibilities among other things… when Laura had (I think) 49% of Deception and Sonny had 51% (putting Carly in the business)…

That might not be entirely right but it’s something close to that.

I think it has to do with Lucky and Ethan.

I THINK IT’S ABOUT LUCKY

whatever it is im glued to the tv set,,,genie francis brightens my day…im sure it will come out that fluke was spending time with laura,,,but if genie francis is only back for a stint to help usher tony geary away,,,ill be tuning out when genie leaves again ,,,im tired of the character and atress being used for these lil arcs,,as for me general hospital is a snore on most days,,i find myself fast forwarding through most of it,,

I THINK Laura is returning just to take Luke off the show they came in together an they will walk out together the end

I can’t imagine Genie Francis would have come back just for a short term contract.

I actually hope that Luke & Laura run away together after this. As much as I have always liked Jane Elliot – she screams all her damn lines out and Laura is just so precious and Luke has always loved her!

Laura isn’t leaving with Luke. They’re going to share in this storyline and Luke will leave on his own.

I’m sure this revolves around her and Luke going on one more adventure and Lucky will be tied to it. I kind of know whats going to happen and who might guest star on the show but I will not ruin it. A hint / rumor: It will not be an old regular character from the past but someone the whole world knows and she is very famous!

PS: Genie Francis looks fabulous! Once she wraps on GH I encourage the people at Y&R to hire her. I have a brand new character for her. She could play Sage’s mother. They look like family and I dont think we know anything about Sage’s family so this would be a way to bring them forward. Genie and Kelly would be pure magic together!

go to the Y&R??? you must be joking?? that show is a wasteland and pure looney tunes these days, I watch the news then watch that garbage. Genie was on that show and they let her go with 7 other people in 2014 why would she want to go back to that mess again! General Hospital is her family and should stay on here if storyline and time permits her.

WOW, sorry I just saw the resemblance and these two women are great actresses! I will keep my fantasies to myself.

Right? Now, poor Ashley has a mysterious disease…or is fake Jack poisoning her?
I really would like more time with Genie as Laura on GH. I want to get to know her. But, if she leaves with alike, that will be that!!

Rosanna, Timmm merely made an observation by expressing himself…..he is entitled to it. No need to get so angry as to bite his head off. Relax, it’s just a show.

Timm, I also have noticed the actress who plays Sage looks a lot like Genie Frances. but isn’t Genie too young? She would have had to have been about thirteen when she gave birth to Sage. Also, since she played Genevieve on Y&R, I doubt they would hire her back as another character. They really provided her with some terrible writing just as they are now with Tristan Rogers who has been MIA since Chuck Pratt come on board.
And yes, Genie looks lovely–she can still light up a room just from entering it. I wish you could drop us another hint about the identity of the guest star.

You think Chuck would be licking his chops with Tristan on board?

Ummm Timm the y&r fired her or ” let her go “. Why would they rehire her? They made it clear they didn’t want her at all.

Just a suggestion. I couldnt remember who was in charge when she was let go.

Jill Farren Phelps – who fired Genie from Y&R just to show her that she could. Because Genie used a contract out at GH ten years prior when JFP was the exec producer on GH….since JFP refused to give her time off as allowed in her contract at the same time they were giving Tony Geary time off.

Sounds like it might be Jackie Templeton (Demi Moore)

My sister’s first thought was Demi Moore…

Thats a good guess. People will say that GH could never get her but what has Demi done lately? I havent seen her in a new movie in years!

@Timmm
Exactly, this could be a re-birth of sorts for Demi. It would most likely
lead to dozens of scripts being sent her way, her starring in a night
drama is not out of the question. Bring it on Shonda R…..

Timmm, you are such a tease…LOL.

I like your idea…Genie coming into Y&R as Sage’s mother. But, as Harry said, she played Cain’s Mom, Genevieve.
And, yes…genie looks beautiful…I love this actress. But, she came in like a whirlwind…as I said, I was looking for something more…I don’t know what, though. Does that make sense?

I dont know CeeCee, she came in walking softly with a purpose. In the 80’s and 90’s it would have been some kind of grand entrance but maybe with the information she had for Luke we will understand better. Genie looks great and she has lost weight and the look she had on her face was so Connie/Kate thats why I thought she would be good in the role of Sage’s mother. I forgot who was in charge at Y&R and why she was let go. You can see already that Luke will end up alone in the end. Laura isnt back for him for love its to get his help in rescuing Lucky. Tracy told Luke to NEVER come back to her so yes, Lucas Lorezno Spencer will ride off into the sunset presumed to be dead or on some kind of spiritual journey. I trust Ron and Frank will do the character justice. They have a lot of respect for Tony.

@Timmm.
I agree with everything you said.
I did not express myself well. What I mean by ‘whirlwind’ was not the way she walked in. She did walk in softly, as you say. I should have said, she created a whirlwind around her…my head, at least, was spinning….it was just a strange scene to me. This is my first time seeing all these ladies together with their claws out towards one person.
I hadn’t realize there was so much resentment towards Laura…..which is sort of hypocritical, considering all these women carry so much baggage themselves.
I also agree that Mr. Geary will walk away with dignity….he does deserve all the accolades. He spent half his life on this stage. Yes, he will be given justice.

I think Genie could return to Y&R as Sage’s mother. It has been done before. From what I understand, Josh Taylor (DAYS) used to play Chris Kosacek , then he came back as Roman Brady. I would love to see Genie back.

@Andy G.
TRIPLE LOL!!!!!, Andy. MADAME MAO…..hysterical.
I actually always compared her mode of dress to Mrs. Roper’s. But, your comparison to Jiang Qing is more fitting…I love it!!

Interesting, Timm.
In that recent interview with Tony, he went on and on about sexy he thought Demi Moore was. The interesting thing here is word had it that those two did not get along back when she played Jackie Templeton.

Genie Francis did work on Y&R. They fired her. She played Colin’s ex wife.

Lucky and Ethan are in some sort of trouble. Holly is returning for a brief arc-most likely to help out Ethan.

That Tracy is really a man…lol…kidding, maybe…lol…Helene is holding your sons hostage?……that she knows he is still Fluke?……Amesterdam is calling and you are leaving the show so a marriage to Tracy is pointless? All of the above…lol

HA! Jim! You know I almost wrote the same thing? But folks are a little tender in light of the Bruce Jenner thing so I erred on the side of caution.

Well, i almost said a man named Bruce…lol…then i realize most people these days lack a sense of humor!!!

@Jimh
@ Harry
You both crack me up!

@jimh and Harry….I had thought of mentioning him as a recast for a revived “Sally Armitage” (or his/her twin, “Ally”)…..would have made for an interesting hat tip to L&L’s first adventure!

LOL….

I too have wondered…. why ….? a one month pretense engagement ? because he’s making up for lost time and watching him apologizing to every one… is nuLuke?

the last call for espionage intrigue… with his starlets

PLEASE beyond please… do not waste Genie Francis

it’s her time to command and shrewdly finesse her character with all her wiles plus

I never thought of that last one! Maybe he did remarry Laura when he was fluke! LOL

This is what caught my attention: whoever decided to have Jane Eliot wearing that hideous tent of a dress should be shot on site!

Poor Tracy… It’s bad enough that Laura interrupts the engagement party, looking slim and fabulous, but Tracy is wearing a dress that makes her look much heavier than what she is. Wasn’t there someone on the set, a director, a producer, a fellow actor, a stage manager, anyone who realized what a terrible wardrobe choice Ms. Eliot was given? Was everyone wearing blinders that day?!?!

“… whoever decided to have Jane Eliot wearing that hideous tent of a dress should be shot on site! ”

LOL

posts salute

I wondered the same thing…. she looked HUGE from the waist down…. when she glams up… loved her hair and make-up… with all those dripping diamonds with that white shirt… was top draw

in walks Laura in kills it leather shoes, jacket, and nice jeans… svelte, healthy, eat your hearts out

Well, at least it provided a change from Tracy’s usual “Madame Mao” ensembles. If I ever had the opportunity to meet Jane Elliott, I’d inquire why her character has for years dressed like the hostess at a Chinese restaurant.

Thanks, Patrick! Ms. Eliot is an attractive woman who did not deserve to be saddled (pun intended) with such apparel, particularly in view of Genie Francis’ appearance, as you state!

I don’t recall the dress but Jane Eliot looked the best I have seen her in a while.

Thanks for your reply, Rob. I don’t typically take much notice of the wardrobe, but trust me (and the others here), this dress was a disaster (at least from the waist down). As you state, she otherwise looked great — and usually does!

Rob–thought Tracy looked regally lovely.

oh yes! I totally agree with you Jamesj75, I totally took note of that “dress” that poor Jane Elliott had to wear. What was that? It was so distracting.

On another note, yesterday’s episode, I was so much more pulled in and captivated with Silas and Nina. Michael Easton really balances Michelle Stafford. I loved seeing Nina yesterday just BEING, and not DOING. As much as I sometimes… enjoy Nina and Franco, it becomes too much with Roger & Michelle and their shtick. Monday’s episode, I just really loved seeing Michael Easton reunited in scenes with Michelle Stafford. I think I would prefer to have them fall back into love at some point.

Thanks for your reply, Jeremy. I was definitely distracted, too, so much so I was chomping at the bit to make a comment here as soon as a story on Laura’s return was penned.

I also agree with what you have to say about Nina et al.! It was nice to see her getting along well with Silas after all the major drama between them.

I am almost 90 percent certain that Kiki will be revealed to be Nina’a daughter and not Ava’s– so perhaps having a kid in common will lead Nina and Silas back together at some point– who knows- but for now, yes it was refreshing to see Nina dial it down a few notches there.

Tracy looked good from the neck up but whoa, what a tent is right!! No good. Then, in walks Laura all svelte and rested; well – easy choice for Luke IMHO!!

Oh, thank you, Jeremy.
I was so happy to see Nina and Silas together…..who would have ‘thunk’?
You saw exactly what I saw…I love it. But, I feel that Nina still loves Franco, deep down.
It really would be a twisty-turn of events, if Nina and Silas hooked up again, wouldn’t it? Then, Lo and behold, Kiki turns out to be THEIR daughter!!

Jeremy, a quick note… Nina continues to crack me up. Stafford is a great actress, which many of us knew from watching Y&R.
In the other thread about the View, when I saw your reply, I replied right away with a nice response, including how you were making some great points. For whatever reason, it’s been awaiting moderation for a long time. So in case it doesn’t make the cut, I wanted to reply again here. Take care.

Really, a James…LOL. What was that? It was terrible!!!!!! It looked something bought at the Amish-country store. All Tracy needed was the cap.

OMG ! Ceec ! LOL I swear to you that is exactly what I thought… “Amish”

had it not been for all those “diamonds” I would have thought peasantry

LOL

course I “love” AndyG response… had me roflmao…

“she looks that”

all the time

@AndyG

perhaps Jane Elliott is paying homage to Susan Flannery, on B&B

Stephanie Forrester, always seemed to be wearing her metallic jammies (pants suits)… with a broach

whereas, Jane Elliott’ Traci finery is asian cross stitch

excuse me : “her silks”

Stephanie Forrester

It appeared as if someone had pitched an entire party tent under Tracy’s skirt….it was THAT voluminous! (Which also would have made for a superb float or balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade!) And such a shame, too, because from the neck up, Ms. Quartermaine was absolutely smashing! Her new, frankly feminine hairstyle and dramatic, immaculate maquillage was most flattering! (As for the “Madame Mao” comment by Andy G….right on!!!! I often wondered what TAQ’s obsession with chinoiserie-inspired garb was all about!!!..) And wasn’t it ever so nice, CeeCee, that you and I—along with Harry—didn’t have to be the only fashion police on the beat this time around???? LOL!

I’m also leaning towards Nina & Silas finding out Kiki is their daughter,
especially since there seems to be no LOVE lost between Nina & Kiki.
If in fact Ava pulled something like that off, she couldn’t have done it
alone… Madeleine may have been the facilitator.

@Fanny.
Yes, Fanny. I said that from day one. Mad Maddie paid Ava to take Kiki as her own. Many of us believed it to be true….then, most either gave up or did not believe it any longer because that possibility kept getting smaller and smaller.
But, I never strayed from my first feeling….I still sense it. Even if I am wrong, I will still think I am right…..I know, I know…I am hard-headed and stubborn…LOL.
What a storyline that will make. Kiki hating Nina and vice versa….then they discover they are mother and daughter. Will they ever cross the bridge and develop some kind of relationship?
Kiki and Silas will resent both Ava and Maddie. The writers should really follow my lead…..LOL.

Thanks CeeCee! Amish is right! I also thought it looked like a costume from Alice in Wonderland.

Andy G: “Madame Mao” and “hostess at a Chinese restaurant.” LOL!!

Shay: “superb float or balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade!” LOL!!

Finally, I don’t think anyone is disrespecting Jane at all, or overweight people, or the Amish, or even tents! This was simply a ludicrous outfit!

@CeeCee
“Mad Maddie” I LOVE it! UR right it would make for GREAT TV. Popcorn please..
What if Dr. O helped her sister mad Maddie out by delivering the baby.. As a
thank you for raising & keeping Nathan safe for her.. Hence, Dr. O could very
well be the ONE to let the cat out of the bag.. To Mad Maddie & Ava, I have
one for you RUUUUUUUUUUUN….

This is true, James! I have always loved JE’s Tracy, but at some point, her fierce fashion sense totally went south, and it was downright painful seeing her swanning about in those unstylish “female politician pantsuits” and purplish punk-rocker hairdo! Ditto for the endless parade of “Jammies from the Orient!” Now that Luke is on his way out of the picture, I hope that Ms. Quartermaine will rediscover her inner “fabulousness” and regress to that biting, bedeviling Tracy we once knew, although if spoilers are any indication, I’m about to be even more disappointed in this formerly formidable femme!

Thanks, Shay! We are definitely on the same page. I hope that Tracy returns to her former glory.

“endless parade of ‘Jammies from the Orient!'”: LOL! It’s as though the soaps don’t know how to dress women of a certain age or of a certain physique. Some of these get-ups are downright insulting.

PS: I always enjoy your comments. As I’ve stated before, I really enjoy this website, but they should add a “like” feature for comments we particularly enjoy. For the most part, many comments are posted with no feedback whatsoever. A “like” button would go a long way. Take care.

hey Jamesj75, yes, I just replied to the Raven/View article… it does seem like sometimes it takes several hours for responses to post.
Yeah, there was an interesting scene with Michelle and Kelly, what yesterday, and the scene between Molly and Nina, Michelle Stafford, when she pulls back, just a we bit, her comedic timing is spot on, there were some great exchanges between Nina and Molly, Nina offering Molly to call her Mom! I loved it, love Stafford. Looking forward to more Silas and Nina scenes, Silas definitely balances Nina. I think Michael & Michelle have great chemistry together.
On another note, I bought The Stafford Project, season 1, a few months ago, and totally need to watch it! Have you seen it? Wish we could email/like, and have our replies post in real time. Thanks for writing me again, much appreciation! 🙂

Hello there, Jeremy! Thanks for keeping the dialogue going, here and elsewhere. It is much appreciated! 🙂 I guess I panicked when my other reply was taking more than a day to post. I didn’t want you to think I was a jerk. I wish there were a way to correspond via private messaging. Well, if you come up with something, let me know…
I haven’t seen the Stafford Project. I hope you enjoy it. Stafford is such a great actress. When she was on Y&R, I always thought that her character seemed “real” to me. Maybe it was her terrific acting. I saw those Nina and Molly scenes — good stuff. And I also want to see Nina with Silas more often. There is more story between them waiting to be tapped.
Take care, Friend!

Hey, Jeremy! Since you’ve been a regular poster for some time now, I’m sure you are aware of my extreme distaste for the character of Nina, but I have to admit, during that scene which you have referenced above, the Clay Cray did actually make me laugh when she stated that Molly obviously derived her “intelligence” from her father!!!! Oh my! Talk about a supreme slam against Alexis!!! I LOVED it!!!!! LOL….

Thank you, James! I “like” your comments, too! One of my favorite things about posting here at MFSoaps is sharing our often pithy observations and clever quips with one another, so when I read witty remarks that tickle my funny bone, it just adds to the enjoyment of the GH viewing experience. Having said that, not everyone appears to approve of my—or others—certain form(s) of humor, hence, I’m not sure that a button for “liking,” or rather, “disliking,” would go very far toward promoting harmony at this website. Some actually feel the need to bully those of us with whom they disagree, so I’m guessing Mr. Fairman has decided not to further fuel the fire with designated thumbs up or down. I’m just content to trade posts with the like-minded or at least those who respectfully state opinions counter to my own! Which leads me to add that I always love to hear fashion feedback from the opposite sex…your male perspectives can be truly hilarious without sounding catty….LOL! Having said that, I totally concur that most of the ladies of GH are sorely lacking in the sartorial capacity, although I always find the already-missed Finola Hughes to be spot-on fabulous in her frocks and Donna Mills is an absolute vision of Park Avenue perfection! Her hair, makeup and wardrobe are simply immaculate! She was quite the soap siren supreme in her most recent rich ruby ensemble! That’s the kind of attire I long to see on more females in Port Charles, including the inimitable Tracy Quartermaine!

Thank you for your reply, Shay! And your kind words therein!
Your ideas on keeping the peace at this website make total sense. I personally would never give someone a “thumbs-down,” but I see how that system could invite disharmony. And I am no fan of the bullies either, here or elsewhere.
I do like your philosophy of trading posts “with the like-minded or at least those who respectfully state opinions counter to my own” as well as enjoyment of the humor of the comments. I like to laugh and I like to make others laugh. We can’t take ourselves too seriously.
Getting back to wardrobe, I am certainly not a member of the fashion police, but I felt so darned sorry for Jane Eliot having to wear that atrocious outfit in those scenes. It stuck out like a sore thumb. You’re right about Finola and Donna. Take care, Shay! 🙂

@James….You are most welcome!!!! I think the fact that you don’t consider yourself to be part of the “police de la mode” just goes to show how truly egregious Tracy’s fashion faux-pas was……it attracted comments from far and wide, not just the usual suspects!!!!! Furthermore, I concur with your feeling sorry for JE….I have always admired her, and even though I greatly enjoy dishing on GH style—or rather, lack thereof—there are other more deserving characters upon which to regularly heap derision for dubious sartorial selections. (Mainly Alexis, but sometimes also Nina, Sam, etc.) Hence, I am hoping that this will be the last time we must take Tracy to task for a poor apparel choice! At any rate, I also love to laugh, and I appreciate those with our similar sort of wit….we seem to be growing in number here, so you have come to the right place! (Be sure to reference Harry, CeeCee, Timmm and jimh, just to name a few of my personal favorites!) Keeping that in mind, I shall look forward to your future posts, as well…LOL! Whether we’ll agree or disagree, I do believe it will be a kick to trade thoughts with you, since you seem to share the same civilized perspective on posting that I do! Later!

The first day of Laura’s return was a bust. 10 second scenes of Laura literally saying nothing as everyone else made snide remarks. These writers just don’t know how to tell a story. They don’t know how to build intrigue or make anything interesting. All it is,is frustrating and if this is a prelude to how things are going to continue to play out, this story is going nowhere.

Everyone making snide remarks about Laura? What is really the point of it? Is that interesting? Was it engaging? Her daughter Lulu wasn’t even happy to see her.

As for Laura not being anywhere in sight during Luke’s meltdown, of course she wasn’t even mentioned because that’s not allowed on Cartini’s GH. They had no use for Laura, didn’t want her on the show and made sure to never make mention of her, like GH fans wouldn’t notice.

Now she returns to a heep of crap thrown at her. Not surprising. It’s obvious that the Network made a deal for Genie to come back against the will of Cartini and I expect her to get treatment accordingly. What a grand and wonderful entrance for a soap icon. But hey, let’s all feel bad for Ava wanting to be with her kid, (while Laura’s daughter could care less that she’s back) and Nina who was betrayed by Franco. And let’s have that take up 75% of the episode that Laura returns.

The introduction of Laura was a bust. The scenes were too short, terribly written and pointless for an hour. Laura returns and the episode is about Ava and Nina. Shocking. If ABC thinks Genie can boost ratings with the same terrible writing and focus that has driven the demos down, they are going to be wrong. And maybe that’s Cartini’s goal. Hey, you think our creations aren’t doing it? Well here’s Laura and she’s not doing it either. Of course she won’t with this type of treatment and storytelling and that just might be the goal.

Agreed. I had to fast forward through the whole Nina drivel just to get to Laura. And yes, the scenes were too short and yet? They manage to drag on and on. Finally, Laura drops a bombshell and again, that bombshell is dropped off camera.
This is terrible writing, terrible pacing and they are wasting the talents of the cast. It can only go up hill from here.

Well, one can certainly live in hope, Harry! As much as I also found Laura’s big “entrance” to be lackluster, disappointing and questionable in nature, I am taking a “wait-and-see” attitude where she’s concerned, whilst reminding myself that in her place could be even more needless tales of that repugnant replicant-like Nina’s nonsensical antics, “Val-Chops'” maneating efforts at the PCPD, Cinderbrina’s social-climbing exploits over at ChezQ or the disheveled, décolletage-dishing Alexis’ umpteenth raunchy romp with “Metrosexual Man.” When you consider those wholly unappealing alternatives, Luke and Laura seem almost like a Shakespearean treat in comparison!

Dear Harry,

Anyone who appreciates any profound phrase by the skillful turn of the mighty pen, could never find the implication boring.
I do believe we are soul mates, Harry. I love everything Shakespeare. Sometimes, the 16th Century is not so far in the past to me….Shakespeare and his Anne seem to live right next door.

There are two sides to every story so you can’t blame everything on Cartini.

I agree, what an entrance, her feet! Yes, this is a GH specialty, they tease you on Friday that she is returning, show her walk in, cut to Monday and it takes the whole show to reveal that she brought news to Luke and his and Tracy’s wedding is off! Plus, they dont even show Laura talking to Luke! We’ve waited to hear from Laura for TWO YEARS and she has TWO lines! DUMB!

Another GH trick. Remember when Michael pulled a gun on Sonny at the beginning of the program and after FIFTY SEVEN minutes we see that he doesnt pull the trigger! DUMB!

What they’ve done is so unimaginative and predictable, again unfortunately.

Laura is not a goddess and does not need to be put on a worship pedisole..
She should be treated no different than the others..
geez some think the red carpet should be rolled out for and she should be ushered in as Queen and steal the show with the spotlight on her aha! how silly..
I believe she returned once before without the huge fanfair..

Also- She saw it was a special occasion, and when she was told what the party was for.. should have excused herself turned around and left and take her rude selfish ass out of Luke and Tracy’s engagement party and politely waited an hour or so ..
As for her return, I saw a self centered rude bitch that irked me ..
It was a good soap drama entry.. I liked it !!

Other than that it’s merely a story and looks like it will be great one..
Can’t wait for this story to get going 🙂

SU… I haven’t watched yet so what did she tell her..Tracy’s haircut is for a reason and she married Tracy in Amsterdam in secret???.. Or did Helena and Tracy have an affair years ago and that’s why Tracy butched up her look..did she follow Fluke to the Netherlands and he has a husband and adopted kids that real Luke doesn’t know about..and now Helena has them all hostage on Cassadine Island???

The words are “pedestal” and “fanfare.” You had trouble staying awake in English class, didn’t you?

Thanks Andy.. You are very astute!
English is my 3rd language…
How many languages do you read, write and speak?
Can I hire you to read all my posts and be my personal corrector? 🙂

Davlestev1 and Andy G…both of your comments are cheap shots! Enough said!

Sorry, Su, but I only speak two languages (English & French, though I like to think I’m also fluent in profanity), but I have edited & proofread half a dozen books in genres ranging from self-help to science fiction, so I am qualified to correct such glaring errors. Rose, if that constitutes a “cheap shot” in your eyes, my apologies. If you think it’s kinder to let people continue to bask in their ignorance, you’re entitled to that opinion–just as I am to mine.

Andy G…it wasn’t just the “correction,” it was the tone of the second sentence. Maybe you didn’t intend for your comment to be more than helpful, but I just didn’t read it that way. At least not to me. And I don’t always see eye-to-eye with su0000.

I’m sure since it’s been revealed that “Lucky” and “Nathan” are coming back for a very short time that this will be about them. I’d love to think that Luke had married Laura, prior to him marrying Tracy (what a story that would be), however, I do not think this is the case as Anthony Geary has not wanted the story of Luke and Laura to proceed further…at least that’s what I’ve read.

It seems like every one is leaving the show Anna is gone ROBBIN left all of the good ones are leaving, i will really miss Luke,, i have all ways missed Laura but there needs to be a reason for Luke to be gone, an what better way than for Laura to come get him, that’s just wright they will be missed

Anna will be coming back…right? I thought I read that she’s just gone for a short period of time. I mourn the loss of Robin also, not the biggest fan of Sam and Patrick – did like Sam with Silas. I have always loved Luke and Laura even though their beginning wasn’t the best…and I’ve always been a fan of Hers – I remember how the lighting was on her face and her eyelashes were so dang long and beautiful.

Anna is not gone, she is on 3 month leave, directing a movie if I head right..

Anna is leaving to direct a movie for three months.

Anna will be back. Finola Hughes is on leave for the summer. She’s directing a movie that Ian Buchanan (Duke) is starring in. 🙂

Wow!!!!!

I think that they are still married and it’s why Luke told Tracy that they can’t get married hope I’m right

I always thought that Tracy and Luke just don’t fit together ….They don’t have what Luke and Laura had together …..Luke and Laura are the bomb together ……I don’t get to watch GH that much but , ill be taping every show this summer …..Luke and Laura in my opinion were the best part of that show and they just go together ….Tracy is no match for Laura ……

I do like Tracy when she’s on her game – didn’t like how they made her seem so stupid with Luke, but Luke and Laura have always been my favorite super couple and it annoyed me greatly that Anthony Geary wanted their relationship done.

Lori, there was one pearl of character driven writing afforded with today’s (Tuesday’s) show. My heart broke a little when Tracy said to Dillon,”Luke never loved me–no one ever did.” Prefacing this simple, but powerful, line, we see Tracy staring up at the staircase. As soon as I saw that staircase I was reminded of past scenes with Tracy and her father which transpired at that very staircase. There were scenes which involved Tracy begging for her father’s love and approval and only receiving rejection. These scenes were followed by Tracy ascending that very staircase to go to her room to sleep alone. There was also an infamous scene in which Edward had a heart attack and begged Tracy for his heart medication so she could save her “Daddy’s” life. Hurt too many times by her father, Tracy ignored his pleas and ascended that staircase to her room.
So when Tracy told her son today that she looked up at that very staircase and thought she no longer had the strength to ascend it, I could not help but think of her past. When she followed up by saying,”Luke never loved me, no one ever did,” my heart broke along with hers.
Now see? This is just a snippet of good character driven story and we really need to see more of this. I defy anyone to tell me that this is boring and an example of anyone living in the past. The psychological dynamics which exist between mother and father are timeless which is why Shakespeare is (or should be) relevant today. See King Lear for an example of the aforementioned.

Harry, that was beautifully stated. I feel for Tracy, love Tracy, I just knew she was way too smart to be hoodwinked by “Fluke.” Great actress. But you’re preaching to the choir in regard to GH – I love it! 😉 I’m right there with you! If I somehow implied any different, I apologize. I Love GH and I love my Tracy, I just don’t love it when they make smart people stupid.

Harry that was incredible, beautifully said and showing a strong understanding of the history of the show. Considering all the rejection Tracy has faced in her life she is one strong cookie. I would love to see her find her “own” true love story. I thought it might be Luke – because she really went to bat for him.

That was VERY well-put, Harry! I’m totally torn as to whether you’re at your best when cracking wise or waxing sentimental, since you do both so skillfully! (I loved this most insightful “Tracy” post, as well as your recent, charming “Pigpen” comments….I always just regarded that “Peanuts” staple as a dirty little kid who was incapable of staying clean, but your interpretation of him was actually quite thought-provoking….and heartbreaking!)

Absolutely, Luke&Laura are a reminder of the “glory days” of GH, when it was “must-see” TV. I doubt if GH would even still be on the air if it weren’t for them, drawing in viewers and paving the way for many more legendary supercouples. They deserve their place in history, and they belong together.

Since Luke is leaving, I am glad that they will put Luke and Laura together.

I agree LUKE AN Laura do go together there are the ones that made g.h.

My bet is that Lucky is in trouble and Luke and Laura need to team up to save him.

They’re up all night to get Lucky!
Hey, someone should write a song.

On his way from Nashville to Port Charles plenty of time to write a song.

Harry, That is Hysterical and Nicely Done

that’s what i think they need to save LUCKY an they can’t tell any one

Yes, I am surprised Laura’s return was not met with more love from her family and friends. And I wish Laura would have been brought aboard sooner. I like Genie Francis. Everything will seem rushed now. Would have enjoyed a romantic adventure akin to what brought Luke and Laura together. Oh, that was glorious storytelling — the department store, that hokey farm couple that took them in — and that lasted a long time and held our attention. It was rich. The wedding was too over the top, and seeing it again not long ago showed it was too silly. But this is GH we’re talking about here, I know.

GH is going new directions. Newer characters and families are more prominent. DO hope the Spencers are given a fair solid sendoff. I do wonder if we will be seeing them much again after Mr. Geary departs the series.

oh my gosh i remember when luke an Laura were with the family on the farme that was good writeing

If you are talking about Lulu that is an imposter playing her crazy Lizzie Spaulding & road kill Abby Carlton. One of the worst recasts ever and I thought Julie Berman left to do big things. Have you seen her in anything lately?

If it weren’t for Genie Francis, I’d be taking my usual summer break from GH right about now. Too busy, don’t want to expose the kids to all the debauchery, lol .. but I just can’t resist the lure of one last Luke&Laura adventure!

i just knew Luke was lieing tracy

Never mind like

.when are we going to see Jake as jwson

i wish they would hurry up an let it be known that Jake is Jwson

What worries me is that I don’t think the GH writers know yet either, which is why they were unable to show us that scene yesterday. Once again, Team Carlivati is pulling story lines out of their collective keister and making it up as they go along–and lucky us (sarcasm), we get to watch the results.

i like the story line better with Laura on , can’t wait to watch Monday , i all so thank Jayson is going to find out who he is soon

Awkward scenes! Something very cheap about the way this story unfolding and set up. No build up no nothing. So far I’m not feeling it

First , I wanna say genie Francis you look great, and if your return was up to me it would be full time no lame excuses that fFV/RC come up with like she’s always welcome back ( ” when storyline dictates”) or for stunt I.e. Luke’s exit storyline. If she was really truly wanted back they would get her on contract and stop making up stories. And simply give her one. Second, Tracy was really being herself so no hating on her but what about everyone else reaction to Laura? I wanted to slap Carly Bobbie and lulu, who felt the need to protect Tracy more then her own mother. Whatever I’m just hoping she sticks around..

Agree!

Aria, I totally agree with that comment about Lulu, Tracy is NOT nor will she EVER be her mother. Lulu needs to remember that and support her parents whatever their reasons are for doing what they are. Since she wasn’t part of the whole “Triple L Diner” and the seemingly deeper bond they share with Lucky maybe she’s jealous. I wonder if they will clue her in at some point or since she IS a Spencer if she will figure it out.

Although it is all for story, and my heart just broke when Luke rejected Tracy after proclaiming undying love for her. But honestly, if Tracy loved him so much shouldn’t she be a tad skeptical about this sudden turnaround? I am not familiar with the history, but is Tracy so insecure about Laura that she would just accept the Luke wants to be with her just like that– wouldn’t she smell a rat– think something else is going on?

I don’t know the real reason but it is so obvious to me a viewer that Luke was lying through his teeth— so whatever the real reason was, it had to be pretty bad for them to destroy Luke and Tracy’s relationship in the process. I get the writers want to give Luke and Laura one last adventure before TG leaves, and that would be hard to do with Tracy tagging along, but it was so painful to watch her having her heart ripped out like that, I just wished they could have found another way to do it.

I agree Mary. There is no way Tracy would not have been able to tell that Luke was lying through his teeth. I felt he was trying to hint to her that it was just a cover for something else. While Tracy has always felt insecure about Laura, I’ve never seen her THIS insecure. She fell for it hook, line & sinker in 5 seconds flat. She wouldn’t have given in that fast but she did so we will have to go with it. The only person that truly acted in character was Dillon. Of course he’s going to rip Luke to shreds. Of course he’s going to protect & support his mother.

Someone asked earlier if Lulu & Laura had no chemistry because they’ve never acted together. It’s too soon for me to tell if they have chemistry together here, but Emme & Genie were both on Y&R from 2011-2012 together. I do not know if their characters s/l’s crossed however but I’m surely they had some scenes together. They were BOTH “let go” from the show at the same time-September 2012.

I agree I think her appearance has something to do with Lucky and/or Ethan being in trouble. I’ve had enough of Helena to last me years, but if it does involve Helena I pray that it also involves Robin’s rescue!!

historically and culturally it seems fitting, they will ride off until their respective hyped up comebacks. I’m their age so it’s pretty cool to see them playing these roles 35+ years later. Genie is Laura, not Genie-vieve- she didn’t play the role well, she’s overall not a very good actress in my opinion. I don’t see another role in daytime other than Laura for her.

Laura and Sloan would be amazing, hope they go there

Thats fine. Just not Scotty!

Agreed, we’ve had our fair share of that Buffoon.

absolutley not Scotty

I didn’t like all the characters talking badly about Laura. That seemed unnecessary. But as far as the way the episode played out, they were obviously setting the table for what’s to come. Some people have no patience and want everything revealed up front. If you do that, then what’s the point of having a storyline? If you reveal in episode one of Genie’s return what her purpose is for coming back, then where’s the mystery or intrigue?

They obviously have something big planned for Luke and Laura, and I for one am looking forward to seeing how it plays out. I’m looking forward to seeing Jonathan Jackson again, Emma Samms, and whomever else drops in to usher Tony Geary into retirement.

I’m not surprised that the same people on here that were complaining when it was announced that Genie was returning, before she even appeared on screen, are complaining and acting like the sky is falling after one episode. Calm down and have a little patience!

Not one of the characters ”’talked badly about Laura”’
They were stunned that busted into the engagement party..
Laura was told it was an engagement part yet she rudely created a scene that hurt people..
She saw it was a special occasion, and when she was told what the party was for she should have excused herself turned around and left and take her rude selfish ass out of Luke and Tracy’s engagement party and politely waited an hour or so to talk with Luke so as not embarrass Tracy and others there.. ..
Laura was being a self centered rude bitch..

It is shocking and disheartening to me that a woman who helped define a show and a genre, and was one half of the reason for soaps’ highest ratings EVER is treated with such disdain . Previous regimes went through a whole lot of botched rewritten history to send her to a mental institution. They trotted her out for the 25th anniversary of the wedding and the show 50th. She should be the emotional epicentre of the show because it has none.

Sometimes you can be a paradox…it’s okay for Sonny, Luke/Fluke and even Nik ,at times, to be less than polite, but Laura is a “self centred b**ch.”

Maybe do, Su. But, if this has anything to do with their children?….If said children are in peril, then , all is fair. Children, in general, come first. Perhaps, the situation is so dire, and of utmost importance, that Laura had no other choice.

CeeCee, hi..
even it had to with their son Laura could have waited an hour to approach Luke so as not to cause a scene and humiliate Tracy at her and Luke’s engagement party..
Laura was a self centered rude bitch making it all about her..
there is time and place for matters to be addressed, not at nor not by bursting into an engagement part to embarrass and hurt people to do..
She should have waited an hour and avoided the bad feelings she created..

RC gave Laura one helluva entry !!
It caused chaos !! heightened emotions, and a mystery..
Good work RC and team.. BRAVO !!!!
much better than a sappy boring entrance..

I hope that it gets better – because it is obvious it isn’t that Luke is in love with Laura at this point – that would be ridiculous. There has to be something else – I thought about Fluke having married her – but then why wouldn’t they just say that….. because Luke needs to leave the show… So one would assume that the “love” he is doing it for is actually “Tracy” or his kids. I just hope that they actually create a realistic ending….. I have not been happy with the writing on the show for the last year. To choppy and characters aren’t acting realistic. After I find out why Laura came back, I am seriously thinking about taking a break again – until they can write a true drama and not a bunch of days that last a week and have no real bearing on the rest of the characters.

i quit watching GH when Anna left last time i hated it, an we didn;t see Laura i i just quit watching , an Micheal needs to stop acting like a jerk

I know it’s not that they are getting together like Luke said. BUT if the boys were in trouble why wouldn’t they just tell everyone especially Tracy that he had to go help get lucky & Ethan out of trouble. She woulda been mad but she woulda got over it!! I can’t imagine what it is! I know Ethan & Lucky are coming back to GH for Luke’s goodbye. Maybe Luke did something bad on one of his trips when he was fluke & maybe another country is after him & he has to go on the run!! LoL

What a terrible ending to Luke. When I heard he was finally leaving the show, I was glad to see him go, especially after his latest role. I was hoping he would just fade away and surely not hurt Traci when she was such a helpful person always there to help him survive.

What a disappointment.

The ending has not yet occurred, a long way to go before the farewell..
you have to wait for Luke’s story to end to know the ending …..lol

Luke an Laura Made G.H. AN I WILL HATE TO SEE HIM GO IT WANT BE THE SAME

Theres only one “Cupcake” and thats Julie Berman. Emme has no chemistry with Luke and now we see how awkward it is with Laura. Big problem!

I seem to recall a scene in the Quartermaine living room about 5 years ago (during one of Genie Francis’s “blink & you miss it” returns when Lulu was at Shadybrook) where Laura explicitly informed Tracy that she could have Luke back anytime she wanted; all she had to do was snap her fingers and he’d come running. From my perspective, Tracy’s insecurities were on full display in Tuesday’s episode, and they were hideous to behold. Good for you, Laura, and as for Tracy, she can suck it.

su, I agree; Luke should have told Laura that he’d get back to her, later, after the party, the next day, even. Or sent Lulu to find out what the emergency is. Luke’s reaction, and Laura’s was classless, and inexcusable!

I didn’t think Lulu was out of line, either. She has a close relationship with Tracy, who has been there as surrogate mother for Lulu, for years now. It makes sense that Lulu wouldn’t want to see Tracy hurt.

This was all heartbreaking, including Tracy’s conversation with Dillon, in her final scene.

I believe Luke has done this out of necessity, and trying to protect Tracy from whatever the danger is, but he could tip her off to the truth, a little. Because when he comes back to make amends, it will probably be too late. She won’t give him another chance (because TG is leaving), because she won’t risk being hurt again.

I’ve only known Luke as Tracy’s husband, so am not eager to see Luke and Laura together again, in any capacity. I have no interest in this character, but I expect I may like her better, after Luke’s exit.

i love to hear what every one is thinking, this great

ahem ….

hello ?

to die for

“MORE, please”

No be seemed to have noticed that all was revealed in the dialogue. Luke sad something to the effect that it wasn’t the first time they’ve had to make unpopular choices and Laura says, ” if we get Lucky, it will be the last time.” It was a tricky play on words, but she’s literally saying Lucky and not lucky.

I noticed that. I rewound and re-watched that statement a few times. Their expressions were too ominous for it to have been “lucky”. I agree with you that they meant it as “Lucky”. And when Luke said he left Tracy for “love”, he probably meant for the love of his son and also for the love of Tracy; in an effort to spare her a prolonging pain. He knew she would be angry if he told her he had to go on the run again with his ex wife. I would love nothing more than to see a Luke and Laura happy ending like in 1983, but their expressions were not indicative of that…at least not in the June 9th episode. I was happy to see them hold hands at the end of the scene though. I would love to see them slowly fall back in love; but I won’t get my hopes up. I have a feeling the writers are still going to keep them apart.

i agree , after watching to day Luke seems to have feelings for Tracy; but i do wish Luke an Laura would get back together

Agreed. “If we get LUCKY it will be the last time.” Big hint!

Genie is back for a short time as Laura to have one last adventure with Luke. That was already confirmed. Plus, they’ve said before that she’s too expensive for them to keep long-term.

mfarris70 – I have heard the same things.

Any true GH viewer would have known in a second when Laura walked in and looked at Luke their was a grievous situation going on. People catch up but instead we get Norns standing around and Tracy screaming and Carly & Bobbie clueless also. Laura should have said Ladies take a seat and butt out!!!

Morons!

Agree. It was written all over her face. The rigidness between Luke & Laura is the awkwardness of the situation, IMO, not between the actors.

Genie & Tony had a big adventure s/l together under Cartini in 2013 and they acted just fine together. I understand she wasn’t ushered in like a queen this time, but IMO, she is such a strong fit on the show it seems like she never left in the 1st place. I can’t stand when writers advance the story offscreen & tell us about it later, but in this case, I understand why they haven’t shown Luke & Laura’s conversation yet. It wasn’t because they didn’t have time to add it in. It seems like it’s a mystery they’re going to reveal a bit at a time. I’m going to let the s/l play out.

Hi, The Substitute..
If Laura had waited an hour and not burst into an engagement party making demands to talk with Luke, none of that would have ever happened..
Laura could have and should have excused herself and waited until the party ended instead of embarrassing Tracy, Luke, Lulu and all there..
Lurra created the bad feelings and disgust for her actions by herself..
She was rude and self centered..
she could have waited an hour and avoided people hating the self centered skanky self for what she did to Trace and her loved ones..
Laura is now on my crap list.. heh 🙂
Laura

you are just wrong, that ‘s what made the show so good, if every body did the wright thing it wouldn’t be a soap an it wouldn’t be neer as instering

Very true …you could tell something was wrong because Laura was shaking when she entered. In any case, as a longtime viewer, I certainly understand everyone’s concerns about the “treatment” of Laura from her friends and family. However, I’ll admit that part of it made sense. After all, let’s think about it. Luke masqueraded as Fluke for quite some time, tried to blow up family and friends, and then had a breakdown when he realized he had killed both of his parents. Many of those people in the room were affected in some way by FLuke and some of them were there to help him, such as Bobbie and Traci probably bonding over their care for Luke. They were probably just shocked to see Laura and in retrospect wondered why she would show up on THAT particular night.

@Fanny.
RUUUUUUUN, is right, Fanny. You may have something there…Liesl may have had a hand in this diabolical scheme.
And, she might be just the one powerhouse to budge Maddie. Dr. O has that perpetual satisfied, but sneaky, mischievous look on her face….you know, like the cat who just ate the cream….like, “I have a secret “….like, ” I know what you did”, kind of thing…LOL.

With a mother like “Mad Maddie” NO wonder Nina’s off her rocker.. Love
the way Liesl tilts her head to the side,as she puckers her lips just so…all
the while watching her sister through squinted eyes. That’s her disbelieving look..
Lies, lies and more lies who does magda think she fooling.. Not sister dearest.
Great repartee between Dr.O and Franco.

@Fanny….I love Liesl…period! Dr. O. is such an outrageously outre’ character, played with absolute aplomb by the awesome Kathleen Gati!!!! Her too few-and-far between appearances are one of the rare things that keep me tuning in to GH! And the addition of the gorgeous soap vixen Donna Mills as sister Magda was a stroke of genius! I adore it when these two Swiss Sibs mix it up!!!! Not only are they a study of perfect contrasts, visually-speaking, but their constant one-upsmanship is simply too much fun!!! I could just sit and watch them trading verbal volleys all day!!!! Here’s to more, much more! of these two formidable femmes!

@Shay…So nice to hear from you…

@Shay,, I don’t know what happened w/the above post..temperamental
I guess. Completely agree with your assessment of Les Soeur Swiss, they
are a devilish pair. I miss the lost friendships on GH.. Alexis & Diane, Luke
& Robert, Robin & Brenda… Let’s agree to petition against Tracy & Sabriiiiiina
That pairing would be PREPOSTEROUS ‼️

Right on and right back at ya, Fanny!!!! It’s always a delight to trade posts with you! As far as I’m concerned, Magda and Liesl are the best of the best that GH has to offer….I’m hoping for a summer full of these sublimely sinister, sniping sisters! Conversely, there is Sappy. No matter which character is placed opposite her, she comes across as stiff, unnatural and playing up to the camera…..it’s especially obvious when one of GH’s big guns is featured, such as Anna, or now, Tracy….even the often maligned for being unexpressive Sam looked like a seasoned thespian in contrast. (Not my opinion, by the way….I love Kelly Monaco! She had a great week in her scenes with nutty Nina, Jake, et al…..) I’m just really tired of the overly-obvious efforts to find a niche for this obtuse character….and joining her at the hip to the tart-tongued Tracy is one of the worst ideas I’ve witnessed in quite a long time! How I wish the show runners would admit defeat with the unnecessary, insipid Sapster and send her packing!!!!

@Shay…
Hello there, Shay.
If I told you, for the umpteenth time, how many posts I have directed your way, you would not believe me.
I can only hope you get this one.

You do not need to thank me for agreeing with you about poor Tracy’s dress. I get the feeling we have similar tastes, albeit I am in jeans, and/or jeggings (lol), most of the time.
I don’t know who dresses these women. Styles go from one extreme to the other. Here is Alexis whose ample proportions spilleth over, ill-fittingly…then, comes Nina (whose body is perfection, but the clothing not age-appropriate), who looks like her body has been poured into a sheath….and, of course, here comes Tracy, whose dress looked like it came from Cromwell’s wife, Elizabeth’s closet. Is it possible, Shay, that GH’s wardrobe crew found an old trunk from Colonian America, filled with Puritan clothing?…LOL.
But, I must say, your description of the dress had me in tears of laughter.

(Aside)….. Do you know, Shay, what just dawned on me today? As Nina and Molly exchanged that verbal nonsense, I realized that Molly and Christina are not only sisters, but also first cousins. WOW!!. If my concept of Alexis was less than stellar before…..now, it is trashy.
Furthermore, where does Molly come off as the unblemished maiden with such reputable family background? Consider her parents. I used to like this character. I do not tolerate snobs….I deal with that socially superior attitude, more oft than not among my own peers. To me, humility defines a person’s essence.

Anywaaay…I will be hard put …perplexed…dumbfounded…shocked, if Genie came to collect Luke and then leave tout de suite. I have been waiting so long for her. I fell in love with her as Genevieve on Y&R. She made such an impression on me….she’s hard to forget. Later, Girl!!

@CeeCee….Hello to you, too!!! I can totally believe your posting dilemma, because the same can be said pour moi!!! I’ve recently had numerous replies evaporate into moderating oblivion, and they were not only remarks directed toward you, but Harry and Timmm, as well! (Someone musn’t like us very much! I mean behind the scenes, not HERE online….we already know about THAT one! LOL….) But we shall simply have to persevere…..I do particularly love dishing about the abysmal attire we witness on GH. I cannot help myself…”style” is part of my DNA, I inherited it from my mother…its presence— or lack thereof—is something I have noticed my entire life, and I suspect such is the same case with you! Hence, it is nearly impossible for me to bite my tongue when egregious fashion offenses are being perpetrated! (However, I do believe the more the merrier, so I love when others in addition to the usual suspects—including the two of us—bring it on in spades like with Tracy’s inflatable taffeta creation!!!) Having said that, I concur with your appraisal of Miss Molly! Nobody who emanates from a twisted family tree like her own should be passing judgment! Both her mother and father are the height of hypocritical humdingers when it comes to morals, and while I must admit I enjoyed Little Miss Lansing’s snooty put down of her too-weird-for-words stepmonster’s maternal overtures, it’s not as if this chick weren’t exposed to all and sundry for her entire life….just look at whom birthed her! By the way, I really have to ask….when Alexis decided to shack-up with her toyboy, Julian, and Sam moved into unwedded cohabitation with Patrick, we were told that Molly wanted to stay with Ric. Well, the skint Atty. Lansing clearly has no abode to call his own, so where does that leave his daughter? Is she living every teen’s dream in Sam’s penthouse with no supervision???? Inquiring minds want to know! As for her “attitude,” yeah, she did come off as quite high and mighty….until she scampered off to visit her own “jailbird” beau. Hah….how ironic! (Then again, I’m all for maintaining scrupulous standards and refusing to accept anything less from not only myself but others….this can sometimes be construed as “snobbery,” but it really is just expecting people to act with class, dignity and propriety and not behave as if they were reared in a barn!) Lastly, in terms of Laura, her re-emergence was a bit of a baffle from my perspective, too! However, I immediately intuited that her odd demeanor was due to her beloved son, Lucky…she seemed shaken to her core, although that scene did provide a really flat manner of introducing this iconic character to a new generation of GH-ers. Which reminds me, in a prior post you questioned if this were nuLulu’s first exposure to her mother, and the answer is no. When Emme Rylan took over JMB’s role, she was ushered onto the canvas by both GF and AG as her parents rescued her from the Cassadine Island lab…she had been transformed into Stavros’ real “Ice Princess,” and her return from the land of the frozen was the storyline that propelled her re-entry into Port Charles. Even though it was an awkward transition, the fact that Lulu had amnesia and was very fragile during her convalescence eased the obvious differences between the older, more vivacious and new, fluffier portrayals….still, it was never a wholly successful process, as is evidenced by those of us who continue to wax nostalgic about the former incarnation and clamor for Julie Marie Berman’s return in one role or another. At any rate, it was a delight to finally hear from you, Girl! (Thank you, Mr./Ms. Moderator for letting this one get through!!!!) Later, CeeCee!!!!!

I thought Molly’s holier than thou reaction to Nina was based more on her disappointment that her dad Ric didnt do better in the dating arena and married this women to boot! Molly has trashy elements in her life but she is portrayed as smart and wise so I didnt have a problem with her brushing off goofy Nina. Matter of fact I laughed when those two were hugging and Molly looked so uncomfortable. Yes Tracy’s dress was a disaster! GH should look at Y&R’s wardrobe and get inspired! Now this is only my [A man’s POV!] but I think Lauren, Chelsea, Abby and even Nicki dress really well? Bye Shay.

@ Shay-Completely with you as one of those that still miss Julie in the role of L. However, I’m also of the mindset that I don’t want her anywhere near this current regime that is in charge of GH.

@Timmm…..I get what you are saying in terms of Molly’s priceless putdown of Nina, but then again, I have to ask, in place of Ms. Clay, what other woman would have the likes of Ric? I know that the lovely Liz has had her moments of regrettably repeated stupidity when she actually associates herself with that slimy snake, but beyond her, who could Miss Lansing honestly expect to take up with her prize of a father? Not every female in Port Charles is as gullible and needy as her poor role model mother, Alexis….most clearly see Ric for exactly whom and what he is and make it point to avoid him like the plague! As for the GH wardrobe situation, you’ve already heard me frequently comment upon this subject, especially with CeeCee and Harry! You know what I think…there are so few bright spots! And while I don’t watch any other daytime soaps, but I have no doubt that the Y&R characters you mention are well-dressed….probably due, at least in part, to a MUCH larger clothing budget!!!!! Later, Timmm….

@Beth CP…I can appreciate your sentiments, but I cannot help but feel that if JMB were in Lulu’s shoes right now, you could bet your sweet “Cupcake” that she would have already dispensed with “Val-Chops” and her designs on Dante…she’d probably have sent her packing and running back to Philly by now!

I agree with everyone who thought Lulu’s attitude towards Laura was atrocious; she didn’t display any daughterly loyalty . Even if I thought Luke and Tracy should be together, as my mother’s child , my feelings would never have been seen.
Yes, I saw Tracy’ s dress as being a huge tent, also; however, her hair style made her look younger and was very faltering.
I am befuddled as to why Laura didn’t respond to the rude guests , too ; yet as one of , the commenters stated , there must be a bigger plan down the road.
Genie doesn’t need to return to Young and the Restless because the writers didn’t know how to write for her character when she was there; therefore, why send her back to more poor writing. Plus, Young and the Restless couldn’t write for Maura West when she played on the show. At least GH seems to be on the right road.

The entire Laura re-introduction was so shoddily crafted that I found myself actually CRINGING as I watched it unfold. The only saving grace was Tracy’s monologue. Awful, awful plotting.

Oh, lets see, Lucky and or Ethan or both are being held for ransome and the only 2 people in the whole wide world who can save them are Luke and Laura. Hows that sound so far???
