Jax Is Coming Back As Ingo Rademacher Returns To GH!

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

GH fans were rejoicing after executive producer, Frank Valentini, answered a question from longtime General Hospital fan Nicholas Bloom during this week’s #AskGH on social media.

Bloom asked if Jax would be returning anytime soon, to which Valentini replied  “YES! And it will be a HUGE payoff for Nelle, Carly, and Sonny.”    That means, popular star Ingo Rademacher (Jax) is set for a return on the ABC daytime drama series.

Viewers last saw Jax in Port Charles when he spent the Thanksgiving holiday with Carly (Laura Wright) to help through her son Morgan’d death.  They kissed when Carly had moved out of Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) after blaming him for the car bomb explosion that killed their son. However, Jax left to return to Australia after his mother, Lady Jane, became ill.

With Jax coming back on to the scene, will he finally divulge what he knows in the Josslyn kidney donor mystery that will have huge ramifications for Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and Carly?  Will Carly, now believing Sonny cheated on her with Nelle, fall back into the arms of the dashing Jasper Jacks?  Stay tuned.

So, are you glad there is more Jax on the way? Comment below!

I want him to clarify things but I don’t want them back together again.

I am with you!!!!

He’s as much at fault as Nelle for what happened! Max j
Knew all along, but kept him mouth shut! What
kind of a man (former husband, friend) does that? Why couldn’t he just be honest with Carly?
Nelle was a pawn in her father’s schemes.,,he was a money hungry SOB and he didn’t care how he got or who he had to use to get it !! He was a liar and a user too! I hope Jax tells the truth so Sonny and Carly could be happy again !!

PLEASE..no more musical men for Carly. Put her back with Sonny and then they can attack the world together…There are other things to write about, situations to attack. You do not have to constantly break them up.

I suspected Jax would make an appearance. It was inevitable….he holds the key to something….to the kidney mystery, I think. This story is so discombobulated…..
Will his presence/explanation enlighten us? Did he seek Nelle out? But, why her, specifically?
The greatest twist in this imbroglio would be if Jax has a secret concerning Nelle’s true paternity, or maternity. Perhaps, Benson is not her bio dad? Is Jax her father?
There is a big age difference between Carly and Nelle. Is it possible Nelle is her daughter? Is it plausible to say Carly was pregnant as a teen giving birth to Nelle and was told the baby died?
I guess I find myself with too much time on my hands and the mind gallops.

I originally thought she was Carlys daughter but now i cant see how…she seems younger than Micheal but maybe she is Jax’s daughter and he is the one who paid Benson to get the kidney to save Josslyn…Benson knew Jax was the father but kept it quiet…Nelle is really Jax;s daughter ,Jumpin’ Jax-lol

You’re right, Jimmy. The timeline for Carly doesn’t stand up. But, it could for Jax. I just want this story to be done, already.

Or Jerry’s daughter, jimh! That would certainly explain her peculiar psyche….and her suitability as a kidney donor for Josslyn.

I don’t think Jax would ever give up his daughter…not knowingly. Maybe some fling of his had her and he never knew she was his daughter. That would explain how she was a match for Jocelyn…and still keep her unrelated to Michael if they’re going the relationship route.

I also was waiting for Jax to come back and hopefully explain this kidney, or pancreas or lower intestine problem I’m so confused that story at this point! I’m mashugana already enough!

@Shay.
Yes, Shay. Jerry is also a contender. I do not know Jerry well, but from the little I’ve gleaned, he is evil.
I cannot equate Nelle’s psyche to his. Somehow, I think Nelle is a good girl…just messed up!
We shall see. Let’s hope Jax has something of import to reveal. Soooo tired of this story, Shaybelle.

Helena cannot hold a candle to Jerry!

@CeeCee….I was thinking back to the early days when Nelle seemed to be rocking that whole “Bad Seed” vibe, which would jive quite nicely with Jerry Jack’s “gleevil” (That would be “gleefully evil!”…..) persona.

@Shay.
Hey, Shay,
I was wondering; as inimical and pernicious Jerry is, does he have any friends? Did he ever? Does he even have a relationship with Jax?
For some reason I was not repulsed either by him, or Faison….I know I should be. I suppose Roche’s superlative ( and the fact that he is part Scottish) acting and Hove’s (who is part Dutch) hilarious ‘pazzia’ enthrall me, regardless their virulent personae.

PLEASE LET THIS STORY BE OVER SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Shay.
Hey, Shay,
I answer you on both counts, my love; but, I see neither of my replies to you….Ahhh, well!!
I had just said that Nelle cried ‘telling’ tears….something which Jerry, I presume, never did. No human emotion or sympathy .
She must have feeling to do that.
However, that fact does not take the possibility off the table. Nelle showed compassion and love (for both Joss and Avery….and, of course, capable of loving a man ( Michael)…so, she may have inherited her mother’s ‘heart’, whoever she is.

To which I cry foul, CeeCeeGirl! LOL….But seriously, even though I would certainly not describe Jerry as one of those “touchy-feeling” sort of beta males, he is capable of certain depths of human emotion. When Sebastian Roche took over the role, he had some excellent scenes with his mother during which the long thought dead man’s identity was initially revealed and his much-changed appearance and subsequent change of name explained with a very intriguing storyline….yes, GH once actually had those, mia amica!…He also has demonstrated a protective, soft-spot for Joss….and has revealed that on a few various occasions, hence I couldn’t say that Jerry is a complete psychopath with ice cold blood in his veins. Somewhere hiding inside the psyche of this complicated criminal there is a feeling, functioning person who upon rare glimpses lets slip his considerable guard of protective armor……I expect you’ve probably never seen it because as a newer viewer you’ve only been treated to the highly-abridged, one-dimensional bad boy version of Jerry that the past few writing regimes have furnished..

@Shay.
Yes, of course, Shaybelle. What I’ve seen of Jerry was very limited….that time with Robin while she was held captive.
Therefore, my concept of him was not an honorable one, to say the least. Yet, even the worst miscreant can demonstrate some humanity.
You have a point.

Just to clarify, CeeCee….I was “crying foul” for the notion that your previous replies to me weren’t posted, not your thoughts or impressions of Jerry based upon your limited exposure to the character! Now that I know exactly just how little you’ve actually seen of Mr. Jacks, I can certainly understand why you would consider him as a solely unsavory sort of sod with more than a scoche of sociopathy….However, if you ever get the chance, go back to the earlier episodes and check out some of Sebastian’s more brilliant and emotionally-expansive performances from his past GH stints…some are downright hilarious given his absolute audacity and mirthful malevolence, but there are also a few rare examples of more down-to-earth moments, as well….not many, mind you, but they do exist in the video archives, believe it or not!!!!

Jerry had a kind streak back in the day when he dated Bobbi. I believe it was a different actor? GH tends to turn all their villains into cartoon characters!

@CeeCee…I’ve not been repulsed by Jerry or Faison, either! I think they are absolute laugh riots, although the notion that the clearly-obsessed Liesl worshipped her “Cesar” as some sort of sexual demigod to be admired with breathless adoration has always been a source of both amusement and puzzlement for me. However, Sebastian Roche’s Jerry is very much an attractive, sophisticated gent with a continental bent and naughty glint in his eye, who—under the proper circumstances—-could be considered quite swoonworthy and desirable, albeit a seriously dangerous liaison, just the same! As for Jerry’s “friendships?” For all the time I’ve known of the current version of this character, he has had “associates” and “flings,” which seems to be about as deep as he is willing to go in relationships, but he obviously loves (or loved) his mother, brother and niece, although that doesn’t mean that any of them have been immune to the consequences of his wicked ways. Apparently, he reached this point because of a past love lost that he once believed to have died…very long story there, yet that seemed to be the turning point for the metamorphosis of this man who went from a small potatoes, often luckless, criminal to one of Port Charles’ most enduring diabolical supervillains. Incidentally, as Timmm has referenced, Jerry was initially played by another actor, a dark-haired dude who gave an entirely different spin to him…much less lethal and mercenary, and even somewhat likeable and sympathetic as the always odd-out child who was the black sheep in the Jacks family…he was actually engaged to Bobbie before he skipped town after another disastrous scheme went awry. During one of Jerry’s return engagements (in the form of Roche) he finally again encountered Bobbie in the thick of yet another caper, and kinda, sorta, fondly referred to her and their time together in the past, which is why he claimed he wouldn’t kill her even though she got in the way of his plans…hence there is still a sentimental heart beating somewhere deep down beneath that cool, calm, collected and yes, often disturbing, exterior.

@Timmm.
Hey, Timmmy,
Don’t get me wrong, I like Jerry, in a weird way. His and Faison’s malevolent escapades hit my funny bone.
Then, again, my sense of humor goes against the grain. I find some situations hilariously funny. Eg. The scene on the bridge with Rudge and Sonny. He was soooo dwarfed by Rudge–just struck me, as it probably would not others. LOL.
So, please pray tell, did Bobbi date the entire football team, all the townsmen, and then some?? HaHa!!

@CeeCee….Per your query to Timmm about Bobbie’s “antics” back in the day? I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the entire town (or football team, for that matter…shades of Clara Bow, who, incidentally, also never did the deed for which she was famously accused….) made it on her “been there, done that,” list, but yes, she did cut quite a sexual swathe during her earlier years in Port Charles. Of course, she had an impressive(?) head start pre-GH, which is frequently alluded to regarding her past as a prostitute before she segued from the world’s “oldest profession” to the more upstanding medical job sector. But if memory serves, I can list Scotty, Roy DiLucca, Jerry Jacks, Joe Kelly, Dr. Noah Drake—(and his uncle, a US senator, from her time served in the “pro” trenches….hah! Ditto for Carly’s bio-dad, John Durant…)—DL Brock, Jake Meyer, Damian Smith, and even Stefan Cassadine amongst her many conquests….have I missed anyone???? Many of these “characters” were “repeat performers” with Nurse Spencer…and she even married a few of them! However, one prevailing theme to most of Bobbie’s life has been trying to live down her shameful past as a slampuppy for sale, so it did strike many long-time GH viewers as oddly illogical when she suddenly starting bragging about her bordello-derived skill set whilst in her battle with fellow faded-sexpot Lucy Coe over Scotty’s divided loyalties…just saying! As for your “funny bone,” I absolutely share your considerable sense of amusement over the frequent absurdities found amidst the denizens of Port Charles, hence I’m ever so glad that it wasn’t the one broken during your recent skating mishap…and speaking of, hope your leg has healed and you’re back on your feet!

@Timmm….You are correct, although I watched very little of the pre-Sebastian Roche version of the Jerry Jacks character. As I mentioned to CeeCee, “Jerry the First” was nowhere near as smooth a criminal as what we see today….he was often betrayed in his schemes by his own general lack of savvy and smarts….much unlike today’s too-clever-by-half archvillain. Basically, he was just one big screw-up….

Roche could play Daniel Craig’s’ [James Bond] older brother. Both handsome BUT did not like Craig as Bond. Looking for a refreshing reboot.

Timmm….I agree with you about Craig’s Bond…although I’m not a fan of the franchise, in general….I did enjoy the actor in a very absorbing British mystery from earlier in his career….It was called “The Ice House.” Sebastian Roche is a most versatile actor….I have seen him appear in numerous guest spots, and he is always excellent….his performances never fail to feature that European mystique and saucy twinkle in his eye….love him! Oh….and long live Jerry Jacks!

Hopefully these writers don’t ruin his character at the altar of Saint Sonny. We need some good guys on this show. If they have it turn out that Jax knew Jake wasn’t dead and kept that secret from Elizabeth, we can add Jax to the list (Nikolas, Elizabeth) of good characters that are tarnished because of a dumb plot point.

Someone said it here recently, bringing Jake back from the dead really wasn’t necessary. It gave us a few moving scenes with Lucky, who quickly returned to being a deadbeat dad. Since Jake’s return, it seems like Elizabeth only has one child. Maybe it’s time to SORAS Cameron. If there’s ever a character to experience teen anxiety – it’s definitely him.

Agreed, Steve. As usual, you have a knack of putting things in perspective….as Alan, as Shay …without boring me.
Another point I’d like to make is….May ‘ye gods’ keep us from enduring more of Carly. ( Egads!!!!!). The back and forth between these guys is soooooo not enticing. I beg the forces to send her to a spa far, far away, for a prolonged period of time. She needs a cleansing, in more ways than one.

@rebecca.
LOL.I want to clarify….when I speak of ‘imposing’ figure, I do not necessarily mean size or height.
Members of l’organizzazione Calabrese Ndrangheta, specifically Condello (and others) did, in fact, pose a “heightened” figure, albeit they are short in stature.
Sonny looked ridiculous next ro Rudge, that’s all, rebecca. I thought they looked hilarious next to each other. Sonny does not have a scary presence…..no aura of any kind….benign or otherwise.
He is a pompous blank, with temper tantrums, baying at the moon.
And, I truly find the writers’s complete and utter dismissal of AJ irreverent; not to mention the hypocrisy displayed by Sonny in seeking revenge for Morgan.
I, for one, have not forgotten…so, this vendetta is so out of place. The same could be said about Carly. She is just as guilty in AJ’s downfall.
Shall I say, “Oh, it’s just a soap?” You know what I mean? Sobeit, then…..it’s just a soap. LOL.

@Shay.
Too funny, Shay…Napoleon indeed!!
The only siminlarities are their shared lunacy, and their deminuative form, not their stance.
As I said below, one does not have to be tall or hefty to wield power. Napoleon was such…..to a certain point, LOL……he failed big time. Maybe it was that hand he so skillfully tried to hide?
I think, today, Ava let Sonny have it. He seems to hold himself to a higher level/standard from the rest of the lowly ‘commoners’. Soooo glad Ava reminded him of the atrocities in his book of wizardry and misdeeds.
That was so satisfying….not to excuse Ava because this is the classic example of the pot and the kettle.
But, Sonny needs to come down his high horse, if he can without falling off?
On another note. I think all those fellow-posters who said Griffin is Anna’s son, may be right!!
What secret was Olivia J about to divulge to Anna? Is Griffin the secret?

Diminutive. Sorry–sp.

And of course, the self-deluded Sonny is a legend in his own mind, too, just as was Napoleon, CeeCeeGirl! Now if we could only banish “Crime Emperor Corinthos” to his own version of Elba…LOL! .As for the big secret that Olivia is harboring??? If it is that Griffin is the son of Anna and Duke, it certainly won’t come as any big shock to most. I should think that Olivia being Duke’s babymama, aka Griff’s bio-mommy, would be a more surprising result. Hey, with these writers, anything’s possible!

@Shay.
Mais oui, ma chere.
There is always a remote spot on the Corinth Canal waiting for Sonny–exiled within the bones of a long gone warrior ghost ship, inhabited by mighty Spartan spirits. Lol. N’est-ce pas? I do believe he expects everyone’s subservience by kissing his uhmmm, ring.
Yes! Absolutely, Shay. Olivia as Griffin’s bio mom? That would be a killer impact, albeit a tragic one. Poor Griffin. And, Poor Anna. It would be such an affront; the most stinging slap in the face, ever.
Would the writers go there?

Don’t you mean “The Corinthos Canal?” Just joshing, CeeCeeGirl…)Of course, I get your drift! But I truly could envision Sonny “in exile,” his innate madness there to serve as his only companion…’twould make for a compelling–and well-deserved—fate for old SonnyBoy! So, this, ahem, discussion of the Mafiosi and their supposedly shared slight statures begs the question, are there trading cards for followers of these underworld luminaries, complete with height and weight data???? There seems to be an audience for this riveting sort of info, rather the equivalent of sports fans who recite baseball stats!!!! Just had to ask…LOL!….Anyway, I agree that Griffin as Olivia’s son would be an absolute affront to Anna….yet it would also make for great drama. To be in love with your dead spouse’s son that was created with one of your most lethal enemies???? Can’t get much “soapier” than that!!!!

@Shay.
E’ vero, Shay. That’s why I brought up the potential drama and controversy: Olivia and Griffin; mother and son.
Of course, it would be a blow to Anna…especially to her heart. But, this is what gives a good dramatic and drastic twist to any soapy storyline. I would absorb it; relish it, in a NY minute.
Now, I purposely chose the Corinth Canal amidst thousands because of the Corinthos name; which is Greek, by the by. So, how does Sonny get a Greek name? I thought he was Irish/Hispanic?
Anyhoo, my Shay….I am finally unfettered!!!! No cast. Weirdly enough, my left leg looks slimmer than the right. LOL. I guess I’m also going blind!

Sonny is also partially Greek, CeeCeeGirl! His bio-daddy, Mike Corbin, has both Irish AND Greek extraction…his late mama was full-on Cuban. Yes, I’m always up for a fine storyline for Anna, too…and I’m very pleased that Finola’s exquisitely understated performances of the past year have garnered her an Emmy nomination…I so want for her to win! At any rate, it is indeed good news that you’ve finally been released from your cast-laden state….just in time for spring…like a butterfly emerging from their cocoon! Perhaps a bit of muscle-atrophy is to blame for your post-injury difference in leg dimension???

You’re just as obnoxious as ever, Shay. Your obvious references to my reply, as well as Rose, to CeeCee’s observations about Sonny’s height…to which you, too, mentioned Napoleon for his short stature…is…well..obnoxious! Everyone was kinda gettin’ along well in your absence. But you like “teaming” up. So be it. Who am I to deprive you of making fun of everyone and everything?

Carry on.

CeeCee…just so you know…I, too, was (not in a cast) but in a walking boot for four months! Broke my entire foot…ankle, heel, tibia, etc, etc. Just started walking again about six months ago. Point is my leg was thinner than the other too when I finally took the boot off for good. Leg kinda atrophies but it gets back to normal eventually.

Jasper Jax is such a wonderful character and man; yet, he is constantly dumped (lack of a better term) in order to prop up Sonny. It’s just awful. Why do such nice guys have to finish last? I don’t care about Nelle or her backstory. I care about romance. It’s daytime and yet we do not receive any daytime “delight” in forms of healthy relationships or romance. What do we get? We get these RIDICULOUS stories about a lab underneath the hospital where a lunatic is trying to bring back the spirit of a dead person, a custody battle over an embryo baby, rewritten stories over a kidney transplant and an adoptive donor sister, an inept police force who can’t detain a perpetrator and botches every investigation, and couples with zero chemistry forced down our throats. Ugh.

Thanks. For writing great well thought out post. Sonnyis a great character played by a great actor but relying on him too much hurts the show as a whole.

Any coach will tell you a great team is made up by a lot of good players you can’t focus on the one star.

Speaking of Sonny, Tea….I thought that scene on the bridge with Rudge looked so ridiculously misplaced. Rudge dwarfed him….the image just didn’t compute . Sonny, the imperious mafioso did not an imposing figure cut. Au contraire, the parable “The Lion And The Mouse” came to mind; except that without a gun, Rudge would have swatted him in a single swoop.

More like “Napoleon” comes to mind, CeeCeeGirl!

Toto Riina (chief of the Sicilian Mafia) : 5’2
-Pasquale Condello ( chief of Ndragheta) : 5’3
-Meyer Lansky (Jewish mob boss) : 5’4
-Pablo Escobar (Colombian Drug Lord) : 5’5
-Semion Mogleivich (Chief of the Russian Mafia) : 5’5
-El Chapo Guzman (Mexican drug lord) : 5’5
-Carlo Gambino (Boss of Gambino family) :5’6

And let’s not forget another tiny toughy…5’4 Joe Pesci in Goodfellas!

Rebecca…Or Edward G. Robinson or James Cagney…maybe even better than the real bad guys?

Thank GOD! GH and JELLY are famous for leaving potholes in their stories. THIS story with Nelle needs Jax and my prayers have been answered!

So glad he’s coming back — I just hope it’s for longer than last time.

Jax will be the fall guy for the whole Nelle-Josslyn-Jake-kidney mess and then leave after his obligatory two or three episodes. Yawn.

“Yawn” pretty much sums up this show since Ron Carlavati left.

No, I don’t want Jax toget her with Carly because Sonny is the only man for her. I want Jax to come clean about his role in Josslyn’S donor because he was so adamant about Carly dropping the search for the donor. Also, the truth needs to come out about Sonny passing out drunk and not sleeping with Nelly at all. Come on people, if she planted her bra to make them believe that lie

Everybody who is Surprised Jax is returning for This story, raise your hand .
ahaa! yah sure UUUUGE surprise, not..

Right on, su. I said he would return….he had to. It’s the only recourse in explaining the inexplicable.

hi CC==
I really like Ingo Rademacher (Jax).. but I don’t believe he has any intentions of returning to GH outside of the short term stints he seems to be fine with doing every now and then when needed..

yeah, most everyone knew he would be returning to wrap up the story..
And, the total whitewashing of Nell ..

I lack enthusiasm for his return. During the last several years, it’s always been very short-term. And always very predictable. Doesn’t really serve much purpose for the show overall when they bring back characters who’d been regulars for years just for a few weeks here and there.

“And it will be a HUGE payoff for Nelle, Carly, and Sonny.”

Translation: We’re going to ruin Jax’s character by letting him take the fall for this stinker of a storyline so we can redeem fan favorite Nelle and reunite beloved supercouple Sonny and Carly.

BINGO!!!!!

It comes as no surprise. it was intimated when Jax came back last time that he was wary of Nell and holding a secret; so yes…he probably did whatever he could to buy that kidney to save his daughter.

Yep done with the show Ajax was a great character I have had it with this bunch OLTL got cancelled they need to deal with it and quit trying to recreate it. UGH!

Jax sorry I hate my IPad jumps!

While I totally buy the idea of Jax doing whatever it took to get a kidney for his daughter, it is a stretch that with all his money and the immediate fear of losing his child Jax would think “hey, I should waste precious time looking up Carly’s estranged adoptive father she hasn’t seen in over two decades and see if he’s fathered any non-biological siblings during that time that could be a possible donor match.”

To sell this story I’m assuming Jean and Shelly will go with a retconned memory of Jax remembering that he saw one of the letters Frank wrote to Carly over the years and in that letter he mentioned she had a little sister so Jax took a chance that non-biological sibling Nelle was a match but that begs more questions: why wasn’t Frank blackmailing Jax for more money all these years? Why didn’t Frank show up in Port Charles and just flat out ask Carly for money since he had the kidney as a bargaining chip? Why wasn’t good guy Jax making sure Nelle was taken care of since her kidney saved his daughter?

Good questions, Alan, but let’s wait and see if any of those are answered when Jax gets back to town. We know he can be ruthless in business; that’s how he was portrayed when he was introduced years ago. So, he probably dug up whatever he could…perhaps there’s a secret that hasn’t been revealed. Either way he probably used Carly’s name or forged a letter…something…without Carly’s knowledge.

As for Benson not showing up…Jax is way wealthier than Carly/Sonny. I’m sure Jax compensated him quite well for his silence/absence.

Rebecca….Thought I would add to your list of two “little Napolean” gangsters from film who possibly played the roles better than the real ones…Edward G. Robinson and James Cagney. Or at least made them more entertaining than real life.

And “Oh,” I am so, so ready for the Morgan story from Carly and Sonny to be over. I feel bad for Morgan, and for Carly and Sonny’s pain and mourning. But enough is enough is enough from both of the latter. Especially since they had him farmed out to private school for much of his younger life.

Hey Rose…better???? Hope so!!!!

Also hope you see this response; couldn’t find a place under your name to reply. Yes! LOL..two other good examples.

I’ll trade you one Morgan for one Carly. I actually find her more grating than Sonny. Not Laura Wright; great actress. But I just can’t stand Carly. Wanna slap the smug off of her.

Let’s hope our PBS shows won’t go the way of decency, compassion, meals on wheels, normalcy, healthcare…basic human values, on and on and on. We NEED culture to escape this madness, n’est pas?

Hey there, Rebecca,
Agreed–Jax was indeed stunning.
PS And thanks so very much for inquiring about my mother–and me! Mother is now stable medically–her doctor saw her this past Thursday–said her heart and lungs sounded good: she’s come back from that 2-wk. fight with institutional pneumonia–and such a fighter at 95! And I’m in a much better place with that news. Take care.

Rebecca…Am home and feeling a lot better. Thanks for asking. Still a ways to go. Thank goodness for soaps in the afternoon.
Luckily there was TCM’s tribute to Robert Osborne with great interviews. In one interview he mentioned he actually started his acting career in a soap called “Unmarrieds” Have you heard of it? I couldn’t find any info on it.
And then for real life drama I watched most of the 5 hr House Intelligence hearing, and was riveted to the questions and testimony that could rival any soap (except maybe Victor). I’m sure you heard what happened so I won’t comment on anything, like the truth behind the tweet, wiretapping accusation.
Hoping the coming of spring will bring in a new breath of fresh, clean air. 🙂

Sorry about your leg, too, rebecca.
Yeah, my husband told me the calf muscle gets ‘lazy’ , LOL. Gotta work that muscle.

Yes. Jax will be the fall guy, and Nelle will be redeemed.

@Timmm.
You’re right. No one can hold a candle to Helena. I still wonder if she’s really dead.
Why are they reintroducing Jakey’s time with her?is she coming back through flasbacks, as a spirit or human form?
I hope this story leads somewhere positive and is finally put to bed, and not brought back for naught.

Helle will be redeemed!

Perfectly stated

Never really cared for Jax. Not one of my favorite characters on GH…

Same here, Sue, albrit I have only seen him in short stints. I don’t find him good looking, either, as many do.

He is a good actor and when he has scenes with Alexis and Carly, they always pay off.

He lost his luster long ago for me…

@Timmm.
Maybe so, my Timmmy. He just doesn’t do it for me. I love, tall dark and drop dead gorgeous…white teeth and all. LOL.
Seriously, though, I know he’s a great actor. I can easily read his expressions….so, if an actor can do that, he’s worth a zillion. I was strictly talking about his looks.

Alas, guess you didn’t see him in his halcyon days at GH. He was very handsome and his story with Brenda was romantic–great actor, also.

Hi Nancy…hope all is as good as it can be with your mom and that you’re hanging in there.

Agree regarding Ingo/Jax. While he’s still very good-looking “back in the day” he was beyond stunning.

So disappointed in the Nelle reveal!!!Jax return will just make the Jake non kidney donner Nelle kidney donner story wrap up and make us dislike him even more then in previous returns!If we were really lucky when he leaves he will take crazy Nelle with him!!!

I know, jeffrie. Nelle’s reveal was a disappointmrnt because we feel let down. I expected this mind-blowing revelation….a secret that would have moved the earth….unless something devasting is forthcoming, we can chuck this story up on the shelf, next to Fluke.

Yes, CeeCeeGirl….We’ll just file under “C” this latest installment of GH “Clusters”…… Now there’s “ClusterNelle” to be added to “ClusterFluke” along with all the many other ones that fall somewhere in-between F and N, not to mention A to Z….

Must need the money no way would I come back and let these writers throw me under the bus. He was a great character now he is a pawn being used to prop up Sonny and Carly I quit Days years ago because of writers done here .

I suspected Jax had a lot to answer for in this Nelle mess; because he looked guilty as Australian hell each time he reappeared and Nelle was either shown or mentioned. I knew he was hiding something, but I knew that Jax is the type to do even the wrong thing out of love so how could I not forgive and welcome him back, especially his ocean blue eyes? I love when someone is hot AND can act; still a special commodity in actors and actresses to this day. I’m also happy that they give him more than one story and character to be involved with whenever he’s there, like the fact that he ran into Alexis and became involved in her story. They have a great energy together, and I wouldn’t mind a triangle because you KNOW Julian would not be having it and he would be just like Sonny was with Carly, full jealous and dangerous mode, lol. I like when they use the rich canvas of characters instead of letting them collect dust like some underused furniture. Glad they used Lucy after the Nurse’s Ball, and recognized that she is not only legacy but she is connected to I believe the entire cast. They could use the recurring characters in a way that they can still have a little story and it doesn’t take away from the contract players (although to be fair there are several characters I would definitely kill off or just never mention again who have been up there for years and will never ”pop’ but need to be replaced by the ones that barely make any effort and do pop, naturally. I would like Jax to stay permanently, and it’s the perfect time to shore up the cast with legacy so the loss of the great Jane Eliott due to retirement won’t be so jarring. AAAAh, who am I kidding? It would be jarring even if the show had everyone I wanted, and was firing on all cylinders, because she is as essential to the show as the air I breathe is to me. She is the heart, the backbone of the Quartermaine family and woe betide anyone who tries to step to this woman or underestimate her. I love the fact that she can be kind and still not lose her dangerous edge; she is still the woman who kicked her father’s heart medicine an inch out of his reach; and eats companies and people for lunch if she’s hungry. I will always love Tracy, but that’s another story. The show needs permanent characters that matter, like Jax. Carly is automatically, infinitely more tolerable when she’s with a man with integrity who doesn’t kill people that anger him or threaten his livelihood. She doesn’t have to make excuses for him or put her head in the sand while her family is in constant danger as a result. She can be comfortable around him simply because she doesn’t have to clean up any deadly messes like with Sonny. I would love to see Jax with Carly, Alexis or Elizabeth, but he goes with anything.

Also I must mention I would love if Bobbie were used even more, because she is the Spencer matriarch and I know she will do anything to protect her family, just like the other Spencers. They could take this time to add Jax permanently and also give Bobbie, Mac, Felicia, Epiphany, Diane, Felix, Lucas and Brad, otherwise known as the cast that mostly lives their lives off screen when their connections are stronger than half the weaker characters that half been propped to death by every character on the show that we actually care about, and still don’t work! The character of Franco has no business being there without James Franco and is a total waste of Roger’s talent, and I would love he and Liz more if they didn’t act like they were one person, never going a minute without mentioning the other. Nina is still being married off to random characters even after the Ric incident (another character that needs to be there, great actor, great dynamics with everyone), and she is still only tangentially connected to the cast with her weird disjointed family that I could mostly do without, except for Ms. O, Nathan the hair model with the body of steel and eyes of heaven still can’t translate any of that into being remotely interesting as a character, without his shirt coming off. Despite Elizabeth being used to legitimize Franco, who seems to be way more trouble than he’s worth being in some murder mystery every few months constantly being a suspect makes it hard to root for them as a couple when she’s really his babysitter with benefits. However, I can still put up with him way more than the top offenders, Dr. Finn and Haytchel, who was so annoying that they used Elizabeth’s family legacy and last name to prop the hell out of her and for extra padding they used Traci Quartermaine to further buffer the budding couple that no one ever asked for, now or ever to my knowledge. We are not the children who watched and were easily fooled by the great old chestnut bait and switch; characters who can’t hold their own weight without being propped need to be dropped. I said it many times, ‘If you have to prop it, drop it!’ Apparently I need to make t-shirts and sell them to the many others who are aware of this tacky practice that no longer works, and when it did the characters were usually substantial enough that they could be used for propping, lol. So I wouldn’t mind if there were some wild explosion, just ’cause, and my list replaced all the props who for some reason have contract status, and finally we can begin to get a show worth watching. This is my very biased opinion, but this is from someone who loves the show and the legacy that keeps it going. I will give credit to Valentine finally being cast, but even that’s in the shadow of Nik being killed and that will always rub me wrong, same with Duke being killed for no good reason. Half the show are gangsters, suddenly they have to up the stakes for him? Then they add his son and bring back Olivia? That’s what gets my goat, the huge pink scottish elephant that’s not in the room but still sticks out like he should be, because he’s much better use alive in these stories. I also say again I have had enough of stunt casting of characters with a rich history like Olivia Jerome. She would be of so much better use as the no-holds-barred Jerome that doesn’t play games. The one that goes so far that even Sonny is shook, for once. But noooo, they go the crazy, quick, cash grabbing sweeps route and waste her when she is clearly a heavy hitter that can be built to last and affect the whole show, a game changer potentially for several major characters in a permanent, lasting way. I’m tired of my ideas being better than the writers that are PAID to entertain us and write the characters in a responsible way true to their spirit. They did it with Jax so I expect it for the whole canvas. This show makes me rant like no other, lol.

@Dante Williams….But how well you rant! I really enjoyed the entire tangent….especially your point about Dr. O.!!!!!

LOL…I have to say I don’t usually have the patience to read extremely long comments…particularly with no paragraphs but I found your rants rather riveting!

Hahahha…Good show. Ummmm…you. Not GH. Well,not true… GH, too. 😉

I have always loved Jax! If only they would give him a good, juicy story line!! One can dream…

………. We All know Jax did it …
No surprise here, nope ..

This entire Nelle story has been a total flop. Aside from the performances by Chloe Lanier and Laura Wright this week, there has been nothing interesting about this story. Months of Nelle staring at letters, playing with that damn baby rattle, and giving Carly side-eye behind her back was becoming intolerable.

And the reveal doesn’t even make sense! Frank Benson was not Carly’s biological father, so why would Carly reach out to him for Nelle’s kidney? How would she know it could be a match when Nelle and Joss aren’t blood related? If Nelle did her own research into the situation, she would have realized this massive hole in Frank’s story.

A better story in my opinion would have been making Nelle turn out to be Jax and Nina’s daughter. The one Nina was pregnant with when she lapsed into her coma, that she thought was Silas’ but was really the product of an affair with Jax. The baby could have been given up for adoption to the Benson’s just like Carly was, and Nelle could have returned to Port Charles with a grudge against Josslyn for having the life (and kidney) Nelle didn’t as a child, all as a way to ruin Jax’s family. (This would have meant that Ingo Rademacher would have had to stick around long-term for the story to play out, which would have been an added bonus).

Slowly, viewers would learn that Jax and Nina had a past, that Nina’s baby might not be as dead as they thought, and maybe integrate Nelle into Nina’s life by giving her an internship at Crimson. Then, bam, the reveal comes out. Jax knew all along that Nelle was his daughter because he arranged for Joss to receive the kidney, and Nelle figured all of this out, which instigated her plan. The only missing piece for Nelle was, who is her mother? That’s when it is revealed that Nelle and Nina, who by now have developed such a close bond like the one Nelle and Carly built, is her mother.

Nina is furious that Jax kept her daughter away from her. Jax defends his actions by saying he had to sacrifice his relationship with one daughter (Nelle) to save another (Joss). This would solve Nina’s desire to be a mother, and lead her to decide that Charlotte should grow up with Lulu and Dante instead of her and Valentin.

But instead, we got a story that began in October drag out for months on end with no satisfying payoff, and now Jax’s return will make him the bad guy in this whole mess so they can redeem Nelle and prop Sonny and Carly back together. Atrocious writing.

Jimmy, what an awesome idea, having Nina and Jax with a past. And Nelle and Nina would have some amazing scenes together!

Yes, I love that idea….Nina and Jax with a jarring past. But, Nina was dormant for most of her life. And, from what we were led to believe, she was madly in love with her husband….her world revolved around him and she climbed mountains to be with him.
Actually, I still believe Kiki is hers. If TPTB can incorporate that with Jimmy’s theory, then I’ll buy the the story.
The timeline needs to fit. When and how did Jax and Nina meet? And, most importantly, WHY!!

Jax and Nina would make a striking couple visually…but as I’ve said many times, I think it would be totally out of character for Jax to abandon any child of his. I don’t think he’d stay away, and I think if he found out Nell was his he’d seek her out, talk to her and explain the situation…that she could save her sister’s life. I’m not saying the writers couldn’t write it the way you described but I’d find fault for the reasons I just cited.

Good post, though and if Jax were a different type of man I think that’d be a great story line!

This is a rewrit a destruction of a once great character very sad next Jelly will decide Robin is not Roberts daughter but Valentin’s just watch their path of destruction with old Frankie saying Hell yes

No

I’m not looking forward to Jax accepting the entire blame for the entire Nell situation.

Let’s hope that his return is permanent, and a reunion between Jax and Carly (Laura Wright) immediately happens!

i don’t want ingo coming back so tptb/writers can throw him under the bus just so they can have an ending to this sleep-fest of a story line…………….

What about him with Sam!!

Lordy I wish I had you guys doing my essays when I was in school! Get over it they are cooked they are done the spitting the overacting is over? God bless America

Let him stay GONE. Weak actor!

Nancy Lee Grahn’s Star-Studded ALS Fundraiser Reveals “I’ll Be There” Video Featuring Soap Opera Notables

Talk about your impressive line-up! It’s a soap fans dream and for a great cause. General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) is prepping her one-night only ALS fundraiser which will feature many of her friends and co-stars.

The benefit is set for May 4th in Glendale, California. Slated to participate are Genie Francis, Jane Elliot, Peter Bergman, Maurice Benard, Eileen Davidson, Thorsten Kaye, Michelle Stafford, Stephen Nichols, Rena Sofer, Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Claire Egan, Maura West, Kristina Wagner, Gregory Harrison, Trevor St. John, Kate Mansi, Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, and many others.

On Wednesday, Grahn took to her social media and released an “I’ll be there” video shout-out featuring, Monaco, Elliot, Bergman, Bernard, West, Harrison, St. John and more. In a touching and important moment in the new video, Michelle Strogny, who is battling ALS, is featured.

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Learns Britt Died and Tells Anna He Has Been Working For Cates Since November 2021

On the Tuesday, March 26th of General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and the viewers learn about where Jason (Steve Burton) has been for over two and half years. However, Jason gets some news of his own.

Anna is visiting Jason at the PCPD interrogation room. She asks him if he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which he flatly denies. Anna believes him, but she tells Jason it doesn’t matter, because video footage shows him on the roof at the time of the shooting

When talk turns to Jason not willing to speak without his lawyer present, Anna can’t grasp why Jason would instead spend an hour alone talking with John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

Photo: ABC

It is then that Anna brings up that John went by “Jagger” and that the two of them knew each other in high school. Jason doesn’t recall much of his time in high school following his brain injury, but then he gets furious realizing John knew about “Jason’s” past. That is when Jason slams the table and tells Anna, “I’ve been working for John Cates since November 2021.”

Next, Jason explains further that he has been working as an informant for the FBI. Anna wants to know how this came about and he tells her that after the tunnel collapsed, and he couldn’t make it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)… all of a sudden he sees Anna’s face drop.  Anna is the first person to tell him that Britt died and was murdered. She tells Jason the killer is in custody, but he continues to be shocked, overwhelmed with tears welling up in his eyes. Realizing he has to pivot to save his life, Jason continues telling Anna how he wound up working with John.

Jason explains that after the tunnel collapse in Greece, FBI agents grabbed him and placed him under arrest and took him to Quantico where he met John. At Quantico, John played a recording of RICO violations and offered Jason a deal if he agreed to be an informant against Pikeman, the illegal arms dealer.

Anna hears from Jason that he thinks Pikeman is selling illegal arms to anyone flagged by the NSA but has ties to the WSB which they needed a civilian to infiltrate their organization as a military soldier, a mercenary.

Jason tells Anna he was a part of the team brought into eliminate Sonny (Maurice Benard). Every time an attempt was made on Sonny’s life over the last two years, a different team was sent to do the job. Anna gets furious when she learns that John told Jason his job was to kill Sonny and she was with John at the warehouse that night. Jason ensured the sniper missed Sonny and left the rifle behind. However, they were supposed to meet an extraction team. Before he was shot, Dante saw it was Jason on the roof and when he turned around with his hands over his head, Dante was shot by the other guy. Jason says if Dante dies, he’ll be charged with capital murder and then will be useless to the FBI.

Meanwhile, John visits Bobbie’s and runs into Carly (Laura Wright). She learns Jason is in custody and is going to head to the PCPD. Before she does, Carly has some words with Cates when she learns not only does John have a vendetta against Sonny, but Jason too.  Carly tells John he should recuse himself from the case.

So, what did you think about the moment when Jason learned Britt died? What do you think of Jason’s return storyline thus far and what we learned about Jagger/Jason and more? Comment below. But first, check out a moment from today’s GH with Jason and Anna.
