We guess no matter what writing team is heading up The Young and the Restless, there is always an opportunity to bring back the deceased John Abbott!  Actor Jerry Douglas reported himself via his facebook page , that John will make another ghostly return.

Jerry posted,  “To all my dear friends and devoted fans. I am delighted to tell you that our new producer and head writer have written me in a couple of new shows.  One is on Oct. 18th and the other Oct. 26th. Hope you enjoy them.”

So what will prompt visions of John via Jack (Peter Bergman) this time?  And, the bigger question, do you think Y&R made a huge mistake “killing-off” the head of the Abbott clan years ago?  Let us know!

Bring him back from the dead this show has suffered without him. Here is how you do it Dina his first wife pulled him from the hospital and he has been in a coma all this time now he wakes up. They bring people back from the dead all the time with weaker plot lines then this would be.

I agree! His children need him back and then he could rekindle his relationship with Jill (who is coming back soon) since she has not had any luck with men in the last few years!

I love John I wish they kept him NOT Victor.

Bring John Abbot back, get rid of Tucker…

YES!!!!

Tucker is so poorly written. Please get rid of Tucker.

Yes y&r made a big mistake killing off john abbot!

I afree Victor should be gone not John well at least Adam is getting back with Sharon and so happy Chelsea lost the devil spawn

John Abbott is dead. Boneheaded decision once upon a time but he is dead. My beef with Y&R is its over-the-stop storytelling. Please don’t give me impossible-to-believe resurrection tales. Now, maybe John Abbott has a longlost brother, someone whohas similar qualities to John but maybe not the money or power. Such a character — giving Jerry Douglas something different to play — could look to Jack for help financially and maybe become the angel Jack needs in is life to rally the Abbotts and restore the family. I would love to see Ashley and Tracey more engaged. Keep Billy on the canvas. Maybe have an effect on Jack and Kyle. Maybe this Uncle Abbott could be a bit of a con artist or ladies man, too.

I think they all ready did something like a that a few years back. I think Jack was trying to gaslight Gloria into thinking John was alive so he hired this look a like actor to play John back from the grave. At least I think it was Jack that hired him or was it Gloria who hired him to gas light Jack? Does someone remember the details of that storyline? Either way I know they had the look a like John on the scene for a couple of months. But I agree, they shouldn’t have killed off John in the first place, but i don’t want to see John come back from the dead. I like the way it is now, when his kids need fatherly advice they imagine he is there and what he would say to them, whether it is a real ghost or just what they are seeing in their mind it is charming and sweet and I’m glad the new team is using it.

BRING JOHN ABBOT BACK , GET RID OF SHARON AND TUCKER. LET CHELSEA A ND ADAM BE HAPPY TOGETHER. JACK NEEDS TO GET OVER NEWMAN ENTERPRIZES.

I agree with Kay/Kay…. Worse plot lines have brought people back from dead! Bring Jerry back!!!!

Who ever wrote the killing off of John Abbott should be flogged. Worst mistake to kill a beloved character with such rich history. Hope they write better story for Gloria, I love that bitch. LOL

Lynn Marie Latham should have never, ever killed John Abbott!!

That’s a tough call ….John Abbott is one of the best loved TV dads – I think.
I was shocked when they killed him off.
But I like the fact that they bring him back periodically, because he is such a beloved character.
I always look forward to his scenes with Jack.
So to that end keep ’em coming.

I am so happy Jack get’s Newman I hope they keep it that way. I would love to see Victor and Nikki retire to Florida or Arizonia

GREAT NEWS! Jerry Douglas’ presence is sorely missed on Y&R, but so gratifying to know that the writers are cognizant of this and keep the fans happy. The guy can do no wrong! There’s something about seeing the patriarch (second only to Victor) on my screen that makes this long time fan feel so connected to this show. Loving Y&R right now!

Wait until you see the promos for next week this show is on it’s way back to us you feel excited again it goes back on my DVR Monday I am thrilled.

I agree. Have you notice even the acting has gotten better since the new team shows have been airing? We are a day ahead here in Canada so I’ve have already seen Monday’s show and it is good. The pace picks up. There is a lovely scene between Lauren and Michael that has been missing for a long time. And Adam finally has something to do; I even like what they are doing with Chelsea. Maybe anything next to MAB reign looks good, but I am with you, I am thrilled and look forward to seeing if this keeps up.

I think it would be a good idea to bring John back. Please

I would like to you’re Facebook page please? I have a few of your friends on my Facebook. I also an email joyce peers

I would love to see John and Ashley back… this used to be a core family. Please bring back the characters that we love.

I don’t care that the former regime killed John off. I would welcome him back no matter how thin the reasoning. Heck, I know it’s never been done before, but I’d be delighted if they did a simple voice-over or intro by Brad Bell apologizing for making the worst mistake in Y&R history and then letting the show begin with John at the airport, returning after a long trip overseas (presumably to see Dina Mergeron perhaps?).

The only thing that matters is getting Jerry Douglas back where he belongs (and bring Traci back full-time as well). The Abbotts need to be restored to their important status on this show.

I’m just haveing the feeling that You may bring Mr john Abbott back one day,why not lol:-)

Y&R need to bring John Abbott back to the show. Think about it, there is no formable enemy for Victor and Katherine needs him, since Murphy”s character is weak. Consider this idea. Show John in a dark dungeon, dirty and with some memory lost. He went to a meeting on behalf of Jabo and was kidnapped. Everyone is under the assumption he is dead because they see him die in the hospital, but in actuaility another guy is given John’s face and memories like in Days with John Black and sent in his place. But, only this guy is infused with agressive cancer cells that consumes his body and he dies. The kidnappers of the real john’s plan to get a hositle pay back fires when John dies unexpectedly before he could drain the monies from the Jabo accounts.
I’m full of ideas. We need to keep the older actors actively in the forefront.

Yes I agree he should return from the Ghost can’t wait to see how this is going to play out.

Lisa Rinna Would Be Down to Reprise Her Role of Taylor McBride in ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot

When Lisa Rinna departed her popular role of Billie Reed on Days of our Lives back in 1995, her next major role would be a jump to primetime and the soapy Melrose Place.

In 1996, Lisa was introduced as new character Taylor McBride and stayed with the Fox young adult sudser for three seasons. Now in 2024, with the recent reveal that a Melrose Place revival is the works with Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton all on board to reprise their signature roles, would Rinna board the project should it come to fruition?

Speaking with PEOPLE, Rinna expressed, “Well, gosh, I’ve heard about it. I haven’t been approached or anything, but I would love to see what Taylor McBride is up to 25 years later. Wouldn’t that be something?”

Photo: FOX

OG Melrose Place fans know that in story, Taylor moved to the Melrose Place apartment building with her husband Kyle played by Rob Estes. However, Taylor had her eye on Dr. Peter Burns played by former GH star Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco). But, by the time she had moved to the apartment complex, Peter had married tough as nails ad executive, Amanda Woodward, played by Heather Locklear.

Recalling her time on Melrose Place, Rinna added that it, “was one of my greatest and most fun acting experiences, playing Taylor and working with Heather and the whole crew.”  Rinna also noted, “So if they need a Taylor McBride appearance, they know who to call. I’m around.”

The new Melrose Place is in development at CBS Studios. In the premise of the reboot, the Melrose Place residents reunite after the death of one of their friends, “but the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you want to see Lisa Rinna reprise her Melrose Place role as Taylor McBride? Comment below.

Sean Kanan’s Stepdaughter, Juliet Vega, to Appear on The Bold and the Beautiful

Coming up on this Friday’s April 26th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Juliet Vega, the stepdaughter to Sean Kanan will make an appearance on the CBS daytime drama series in the role of Michele.

Keeping it “All in the Family”, the character is named after Juliet’s real-life mother, and Kanan’s wife, writer and producer, Michele Kanan.

Back in 2012, Sean married Michele Vega and thus began their blended family which included his daughter, Simone, and Michelle’s children, Peter, Gigi, and her twins, Annie and Juliet.

Photo: JPI

According to a B&B show spokesperson, Juliet’s B&B character is intentionally named Michele in honor of her mother and Sean’s wife.

While we don’t know how “Michele” shows up in story, it is the same episode that Clint Howard makes an appearance as well seemingly tied to the case of where in the world is Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown)?

Photo: CBS

We can’t imagine that Juliet wouldn’t get the opportunity to mix it up on-screen with her stepdad, Sean Kanan. Previously, the two acted together in Sean’s streaming series Studio City, where she played the role of Delilah and he played soap actor, Sam Stevens. In it, Delilah is the bio-daughter Sam never knew he had.

So, looking forward to seeing Juliet on B&B and how ‘Michele’ turns up in the story? Comment below.
