The highly-anticipated arrival of Daytime Emmy winner Jordi Vilasuso to the Salem scene is upon us.  Circle next Friday, February 19th as Jordi’s first airshow on Days of our Lives.

Vilasuso, who previously played Griffin Castillo on All My Children and Tony Santos on Guiding Light, returns to daytime in the role of Rafe (Galen Gering) and Gabi’s  (Camila Banus) brother, Dario Hernandez.  The role was played once before back in 2011 by Francisco San Martin, but the character has not been seen for years.   Enter Jordi!

In the latest issues of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Vilasuso previews his new role relating what happened when he spoke with DAYS EP Ken Corday, Co-EP Albert Alaar, and head writer Josh Griffith: ” They talked to me about Dario and the one thing I responded to most was that he was very intelligent. Dario is also very passionate and outspoken. He has a short fuse.  I was so ready and wanting to play this guy.”   For more on Jordi’s new role make sure to check out SOD!

So, who would you like to see Dario romantically involved with on DAYS? Are you looking forward to Jordi’s DAYS debut? Do you think the character will tow the line between good and bad?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

I truly welcome Jordi… wow… to about a family on the horizon!

Dad: Eduardo
Mom : Adriana
Son: Rafe
Son: Dario
Daughter: Gabs
granddaughter: Ariana Grace

??? what’s the telenovela superstar connection? Ximena Duque’ Bianca ? an ex wife of either Rafe or Dario?

heck! for very good reason…. why not let the feisty Anne Milbauer… be a step-sister to Adriana

DAYS: give Anne Milbauer a story

The characters name was mistakenly reported as Bianca, but is actually Blanca, Patrick. I don’t know her connection, but I’m intrigued!

*character’s

Dario & Nicole….

Theresa

Well, he did well on ALL MY CHILDREN although I don’t clearly remember his storyline right now.
It’s nice that DAYS OF OUR LIVES is bringing familiar faces to the scene, but it seems like they already have many characters who don’t seem to be doing much of anything to speak of.

Glad to see him return to daytime TV. He has gotten even more handsome since last time I saw him!

I don’t remember the Dario character but I hope this guy develops an interest in Lani. I’m bummed that she’s not getting any screen time because she’s a good actress, unlike some of the actors/actresses that are on 5 days a week.

great idea, about Lani.

speaking of extending families… ie: the Hernandez fam

it warms me up a bit.. to see Abe being familial.. I like that

he’s got a nice gel going… toast to Abe, Lani, and Theo

I knew when they were casting it was for Dario…i want Deimos with Nicole…Paul and Dario would be ok…so would a triangle between Eddie, Dario with Kate…anyway, i really dont care!

I remember reading a rumor early last summer that Dario was going to be Paul’s new love interest. That might be interesting.

I think that Jordi Vilasuso is ONE SMOKING H-O-T DUDE!!!!!!!!!! Oh…and as far as I’m concerned, soap-wise, short fuse=BAD, BAD, BAD BOY!!!!!!!!!! Y-U-M!!!!!!!!!!!

Not real sure about this casting.
jordi seems about 15 years too old for this part. However. Besides that…So…the show is killing off Horton’s and Brady’s left, right, and centre..and expanding the Hernandez clan like gangbusters. I don’t get it. At all.
Another thing, why have all the major MexicanSpanish/Hispanic families portrayed on soaps been headed by a disappearng, absentee father figure who shows up 20-40 years later and has to make amends? And how many times will Galen Gering have to play the same story in his soap career?
Santa Barbara, that beloved botched soap of mine, started it. Cruz’s father abandoned them, but returned. Then, on Passions, The Lopez dad dude ditched their family, and returned 20 years later. On Days of our Lives, the dad ditched Emilio and April. Now Days is doing it again.
On WHICH message board have fans been clamoring for the killing off of the Brady’s and Horton’s, while cheerleading a grand introduction for the Family Hernandez??

Dylan,

I get and agree with what you’re saying here. I mean…as much as I like Jordi Vilasuso as an actor and everything, I don’t understand as to why THE RUSH in bringing in all of these Hernandez family members so quickly??? Also, I’m still getting used to A. Martinez and his Eduardo character. And…I can only handle watching the character of Rafe in small doses. All in all, weird. Totally weird.

Later.

Although he is adorable, I agree he is too old to play Dario..Dario was younger than Rafe , now he looks to be the same age if not older. Are they going to have him with Paul because when he left he was all over Melanie?

Too many Hernandez!
Sorry guys

Pleaseeeeeeee let him be gay

yeah… ; “RIGHT” this will lessen the blow.. if Chandler Massey does not return

Dario and Paul

’nuff

get to it

Ghlover…now that would TRULY R-O-C-K!!!!! AW, HELL YEAH!!!!!

Later.

Kristian Alfonso Returns to Days of our Lives for Tribute to The Late Bill Hayes

After a few weeks of Days of our Lives fans being upset that Kristian Alfonso (Hope Williams) was not on the first list of initial returns for Doug Williams’ funeral and episodes honoring his portrayer, the late Bill Hayes, comes word that the popular star is back and taping scenes.

Kristian reported to work on the Peacock streaming soap opera on Monday, April 22nd. She shared how important it is for her to be back for this particular return to the show that made her a household name.

“My return is very bittersweet,” Alfonso told TV Insider,  “because it is the end of an era with Bill gone. So to return to Days is very sad. I am appreciative that they came to me to include me in their series of shows honoring Doug and I’m very happy to see everyone, but I’m entering the studio with a heavy heart.”

It was back in 1983 that Kristian first debuted as Doug’s daughter, and now 41 years later looking back at it, and her time with Bill Hayes is very emotional for her.

“I remember my first scenes with him/ He was very loving, very welcoming. That he was very talented and an incredible actor and an icon, that all goes without saying, but my personal relationship and my working relationship with Bill, it was home,” expressed Alfonso. “Doing the scenes with Bill, I felt like I was with my dad because there was so much warmth and reality.”

Photo: JPI

Alfonso did express some deep regret, in that she had wanted to work with Bill Hayes during her last appearance on the soap back in 2023, but according to the iconic actress, there was something in the works but it never materialized.  “I’m sad that I did not get the opportunity to do the storyline that Ron (Carlivati, head writer) had planned/ It was great; we returned to Salem to reunite with our families and I would have had father/daughter scenes with Billy. What Ron had written was beautiful and emotional and it was a fantastic story. I was 100 percent for it and the fans would have loved it.”

As for if Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope will be back on-screen together anytime soon, Kristian would only say, “What I will say is don’t give up hope.” Doug’s passing and memorial episodes will stream later this year come late November into December.

So, are you happy to learn that Kristian Alfonso is back taping episodes surrounding Doug’s memorial episodes? Comment below.
