Love Mishael Morgan. YR lucky to have her!

She’s gorgeous!

I was laughing so hard at Mishael’s facial expressions and tone while Hilary was on the phone with Mariah talking about Mariah interviewing Dina. She was hysterical!

who is Mishael Morgan?

Opps, my bad. She plays Hillary. I agree, love her, love Hillary. And she looks amazing. Loved it when she saw the billboard of obnoxious, narcissistic Lilly and said,”I can’t get away from her.”
I know how you feel, Hillary. I hate Lilly

I’m laughing, Rhonda. I feel the same about Lily.

Hilary reminds me of early Erica Kane. She’s not just beautiful, that girl has got talent up to her eyeballs.
I would find her more believable as a model than Lily.

This show has been SO BORING this month.

May sleeps.

It has sucked with a capital S!

Hey, Timmmy,
I agree, my friend, …….I suppose the bosses thought to bring ‘glamor’ into the fray…it is failing miserably….not impressed…..too staged….
Lilly is not right for the glam-sparkle-sexy role, for one thing. Hilary would whet the palate so much more, for the male persuation and spark the fashion sense for women.
I can’t take Cane, anymore , ….and this couple’s sugary scenes, inflict pain upon my senses, lol…..I can’t wail until all-that-is-Julia explodes ih his face. I am already rubbing my hands together, in anticipation.
I do not enjoy being a Debbie Downer, but I can’t think of one storyline that appeals to me, right now….Alas, this my favorite soap!!
I won’t lose faith. LOL.

Well, that is your opinion and one I happen to disagree with.

I totally agree Rhonda, loving Y&R once again…except the background music, lol…Yes I know, I go on and on but hey…I want the classic background music back…

Vanity casting. The head of the network’s wife…cast in a role where someone worships her???

HAHA…GOOD ONE…LOL!!!!!

I know, Jenny. Sooo weird.

Yes, the gratuitous brown nosing and quoting Julie’s bio was too much.

I couldn’t have said it better myself

Why not? Hillary got the job the same way Julie got hers…

Well, Rob, your sentiments are very noble, but , the head of the network ( I believe) was MARRIED with adult children when Julie appeared on the scene ans voila’…..a lucrstive job eith a husband for good measure. LOL.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Thank you!! LOL

I would like the Hollywood storyline much better if boring Victoria stayed in Genoa City. The character has no chemistry with Billy, IMO, and no spark or spunk, unlike Phyllis. She bores me to tears. Speaking of no chemistry, Devon and Mariah, ick. I can’t stomach those two. Bryton James constantly has a look, like he has smelled something foul, when he is attempting to show some type of emotion. Honestly, it just looks like he is confused or constipated all of the time. Send him packing! I wish On-Demand had fast forwarding. What do I like? I love Eileen Davidson; however, give her a love interest that would appeal to a professional business woman, not some kid playing dress-up for her affections who is wet behind the ears. I always enjoy Gloria and her wit. I love Billy and Phyllis, too.

With you all the way but I cannot stand FAKE FILLIS!

I think Gina brings a playful and sexy side to Phyllis. When compared to Victoria, who I find to be drab and boring, I would pick Phyllis any day of the week. If I had the choice of getting a root canal or going to San Diego on vacation with Victoria and “the kids,” I would opt for a root canal, hahahaha!

Devon is an incredibly dull and pointless character (and yet, they’re getting rid of Kevin who lights up the screen?)
I always liked Mariah but I hate her with Devon and I really hated that absurd cat fight which transpired between she and Hillary. Haven’t we made enough strides and women don’t need to battle it out over a man?
That was beneath Mariah.

LOL and WOW, Rhonda …you sure love the word hate.
I agree …I have always ” denounced” Devon. He still strikes me as a twelve-year old. And, Kevin was a brilliant light on Y&R. Sad!!
But, regardless of Devon ( which reminds me of ‘divan’ French for ‘sofa’…..just to sit on…..while Mariah is a gem. The scene between her and Hilary is a representation of women’s inner composition. No matter how civilized we are, or “have come a long way, baby”, sharpening our claws is innate….never will that notion vanish.
Women are, by nature, catty, whether we want to admit it or not, as long as we say it with class, and with a smile. LOL.
Later.

I’ve never been a fan of Mariah; however, she at least has some spunk and spark. With Devon, that spunk and spark is diminished. I liked Mariah and Kevin’s friendship.

Devon and Mariah look so good together I agree Kevin does light up the screen cant stand Hillary

You are so right. Kevin over Devon any day, but I guess he and his money bring more to the show , with more SL possibilities than Kevin.

Frankly, I am very worried about Lily. People around her aren’t complimenting her enough, telling her she’s gorgeous, stunning, beautiful, talented and that she’s a star. I think her self esteem is going to be hurt by the lack of praise.

I know what you mean, Joy. Lily is not interesting…I do not dislike her, but, as a model, she does not have what it takes. Cane does not help the character either….the most boring pair, en par with Jason and Sam ( GH).
I don’t think Lily is beautiful, but she has a perfect body, and wears that gorgeous wardrobe well.
But, more often than not, attraction and savoir-faire trump beauty. But, in my opinion, Lily lacks both, and then some….no style or flair of which to speak.
She is not saucy—no come-hither sparkle in her eye….so inherent to modeling….no sense of mystery.

By the same token, I would love to see Hilary strut her stuff; walk the walk, on the runway. She’s got what it takes. The world is hers and she would bring it to its knees.
As I’ve said before, Hilary is a necessary evil, however, I will amend the word to ‘mischievous’.
She kills with one look. Her facial expressions and nuances give her an air of devil-may-care attitude, albeit I think it’s all an act, an inner pain she hides well.
But, when the claws come out, she has the ability to make mince meat of anyone within reach. Kudos to Mishael.
Furthermore, I think it’s only a matter of time before she and Devon get back together..
But, please; TPTB need to bring in a new actor for this role….Hilary needs a different kind of MAN to match her spirited nature….and, that “ain’t” Jordan, either.

Right, Joy? And Celia, you are right, Cane and Hilary are just about as boring as Monotone Sam and Jason on GH. BORING!

dmr…’root canal’…TOO FUNNY…LOL!!!!! I tell ya’…personality-wise, I’ll take Phyllis over that WHINY AND ANNOYING TWIT Victoria ANY DAY…PERIOD!!!!! Yep.

Later.

Victoria is as much fun as a hair ball in a cat’s mouth.

jaybird369 and Joy, no kidding and what is with her always having to remind everyone that she is the boss? Then, treating “her staff” like children by always trying to boost them (well, Billy) up, up, up? Aren’t these adults? Senior Executives working in Corporate America? Do they really care or need a boost from their boss every five minutes, like school kids? She is a twit and is no match for Phyllis.

I didn’t like the scene with Hilary interviewing Julie. I thought it was a waste of my soap.

the show is finally clicking but there are some hit or misses:
ashley and rave is lame and eileen deserves better material…dina s return looks promising, maybe ash becomes involved with dinas right hand man?
not sure why jordans being shoved down are throats especially now with this random history with chelsea…redaric williams as tyler would have been much better because he already shared a history with lily and mariah so hillary could ve used that angle
tessa s scenes are awkward
jack and gloria s just disgusting
mariah and devon s a snooze
there are still plently of dull moments when the background music is absent or just crappy…why havent mel and sally rehired the old music director back?
othrwise ash/ dina, philly and villy and scott/abby are the most intresting plots imo

THANKS so much Damien on the comment regarding the background music…YES, PLEASE rehire the former music director and get the music back to what it should be…Y&R use to have the best background music and IMO it’s now #3 of the 4 soaps left…the only show I think Y&R’s music is better is DAYS…Days use to have fantastic background music when Marty Davich was over the music…

hi damien ..
the soaps need Young Writers– 30-40yrs old.
They live in the modern media.. Are enthusiastic and have working imaginations.
The soaps are staying old fashioned in the 80’s , they are the same old, never new material just reruns from past years.
All, the stories come from the Graveyard of dead stories being resurrected, over and over again.. Thing is— We all seem to know what is going to happen next because we have been there done that many times before ..

It is the 21st century and new young writers who are up with current worldly media, the trends, technology, what concerns people of the 30-40yrs in this world.
Our world is tech, movies are High Adventure, younger live on the web and many peoples lives revolve around their social media.
Most all, are involved in politics, protesting for their rights a way of life, many are scared of tomorrow.
There are millions stories that come from this era, many stories in every which way directions of life now.
Thing is— one needs to live among the 20-40 year olds to write of their world..
ie) real life; we had a laugh when someone asked ”you want to get laid?” ahaaa that shows bygone age from the 60’s.. that line died long ago– now it’s ”you up?”

(((( look at the huge difference of primetime soaps, just saying – if daytime could grab just a 10th of their type of stories))))

oh well, with all the same ‘ol reruns and disappointments we love our Daytime soaps ..
Long Live The Soaps …!!!!!! we gotta have ’em ..

‘side;
Reed reminds me of Beaver Cleaver, not a guy who wants to be a Rock Star a teen with raging testosterones he is an unnatural teen, a beaver.
He really is just not right. rees is written as his grandma envisions her perfect grandson. (a beaver) LOL !

Su, hahaha, a beaver who steals his mother’s credit card to watch dirty movies, lol! That, at least humanizes him!

Great post, SUooo. Not sure if I agree with all of what you wrote but it does give me food for thought.
I love that you consider forty to be young!

Yeah, I don’t get why Victoria huffs and puffs when Reed does what any teen his age, with raging hormones, would do.
By that, I don’t mean outright sex ( can’t stop it anyway, if he has a mind to), but kissing a girl? She might as well make a eunuch out of him.
Of course, you’re right, su…..the writers are depicting this kid as an abnormal teen—stay home, do his homework, strum his guitar with a complete stranger who has now moved into grandma’s house. Only in soaps.

I like your Ashley/ Dina’s boyfriend premise. Good one, damien.
I, also, agree about Jordan. Can’t stand him. Tone down his appearances ….too much of this guy is just that….too much.
Also, why so much coddling of this Tessa person? She has an agenda. Is she another one of Nikki’s long, lost children? The mistress of the mansion serves the help breakfast? In what hemisphere? Especially, a stranger.

I actually like Tessa. She’s a good actress and singer.

Tessa is the Sabrrrrrrrrrrrrina of Y&R!

I agree with you about Ashley and Ravi, BORING! Ravi has become her therapist. There is no heat between these two. Ravi is a sweet kid, who is wet behind the ears and hot for teacher. Ashley is a beautiful professional, business woman who should be paired with a captivating lead man and not a jerk.
I could care less about Chelsea or Jordan. Chelsea is a snooze fest and she has ZERO chemistry with Nick.
Tessa is very awkward and Noah, well, he’s a young kid trying to fit into dad’s pair of shoes. I think the part should be recast.
Mariah and Devon, BORING! Notice how the writers didn’t show a love scene between these two, only the morning after (which was uncomfortable to watch, btw)? It’s because they realize they have zero chemistry.
I actually do like Gloria. I think she has great zingers and I love her facial expressions.
I think the dynamic between Ashley and Dina may be interesting if written right.
I love Billy and Phyllis. So not boring, unlike Victoria. Good Gawd, the woman puts me to sleep.

Agree with everything you said, dmr. But, let’s face it….Devon would bore the heck out of any woman.
Maybe that’s why Hilary never conceived? LOL.

Hi, again, dmr,
Oh, and, Ashley and Ravi? Off the wall stupid. C’mon!!!!! Ashley needs a man, mature enough to satisfy her mind. Her daughter is older than Ravi. This stryline ‘ain’t ‘ going anywhere…I hope not, anyway.

Jack and Gloria – OH PLEASE! Ashley totally deserves a mature man in her life. Nothing against Ravi, but he should be ith the younger GC scene. Phyllis & Billy? NO, a thousand times NO! Billy and Victoria have spark and this pairing should be given a chance at an adult relationship and romance. Tessa, don’t know what to make of her and no sure about the chemistry with Noah. Give Neil a damn storyline! Give him something to do other than being a sounding board to everyone!

Well said, Lew. All of it !!
Furthermore, Phyllis is a grandmother ( such a stupid thing–Gina is only 40, or so–wrong casting), but is acting like a silly schoolgirl in her first throes of puppy love.
Then again, fast and furious may work even better the second time around.
Most do not agree with a Victoria and Billy coupling. Mixed feelings here. NuBilly is growing on me faster than I would’ve thought.
I see a spark between him and Victoria—more substantial than fickle Phyllis, who, not too long ago, tried getting Jack back because Billy had only been a passing fancy…..( paraphrasing).
And, Jason Thompson’s persona works so much better with Victoria than his predecessor.

Yes Celia and remember Phyllis took Victoria and Billy to court to take the baby away that they had adopted and gave it back to Daniel the whole Billy /Phyllis storyline is bogus but then I think they should have cut their losses and sent both out of town instead of three recasts since Miller left and Gina was totally miscast . I hate the snotty ego pencil neck Billy and Gina seems to think playing Phyllis with a constant frown works ugh!!!

Y&R has been on fire lately. However, and I do not mean to sound critical, but I was not at all excited about Julie Chen’s cameo appearance because I do not know who she is.
I have never been a fan of cross promotion, not in this case and not when GH did it with The Chew. It feels somewhat manipulative and it doesn’t grant good entertainment value.
That said I love Y&R lately. Love that Phyllis is back to acting like Phyllis and for once, I am kind of rooting for her to win Billy over Victoria. Love the Dina/Jack and Ashely story because it’s character driven and utilizes the Abbott history. May I say that Lilly is the absolute worst model in history and is not at all believable? She doesn’t have the looks, the moves or the attitude. She poses for a picture and acts like a thirteen year old girl posing for selfie for Snapchat. Honestly, cannot stand Lilly and she has a manner of speaking which drives me up the wall. She seems to have two note. One is flirtatious and the other is bitchy. If she’s not flirting she’s telling someone off. She’s so irritating I find myself rooting for Hilary.
My favorite new character is Tessa. I thought the scene between she and Nikki was awfully sweet and touching. It was also a real moment which we don’t get enough of these days. Oh, also love Sharon with Scotty. I say yes to this couple.

It’s funny that you mention “The Chew.” I can’t watch that show, not even for a minute. I do not care for one host. Now, I love the Food Network. So many hosts are genuine and down to earth. Two on “The Chew” just freak me out. The others just annoy me. I forgot that GH tried to promote the show, with their Pickle Lila.

DMR, I seem to agree with your every word! Celia, of course I don’t hate Lily for real. It’s just when it comes to soaps, I like to use fictional people as some kind of outlet. It sure beats road rage and it’s harmless!
But I will re state what I LOVE about Y&R; Jack, he’s a good guy struggling with emotional conflicts and he deserves a decent love interest whose name is not G-L-O-R-I-A!
I also love Sharon and probably love her going back to college even more than I love her being paired up with Scott (which I also love). I also love this new character Tessa and how she brings out Nikki’s true self. Their moments are solid and touching. While I don’t hate them, I find Chelsea and Nick to be about as interesting as watching paint dry.
Love Hillary, and hope they keep her away from the mind numbingly dull D man. Mariah’s character, which used to an interesting, cutting edge, different kind of girl, has been sucked up by her involvement with Devone. I still love her, but wish they had paired her up with the boy billionaire. For me, Ashely and Ravi don’t work and it has nothing to do with the age difference. I love both of these characters but not together.
So you see,for me the good outweighs the bad. Love Trumps Hate!

& thank you! I am not a fan of Lily AT ALL! I found it hilarious, that the night before the BIG commercial, she was out with Cane eating and drinking. Now, what model, with a big commercial shoot ahead of them would be out late, eating and drinking? Not a professional one. Just goes to show you, the writers are dumb at times! I like Hilary, too. She’s a believable *itch, where Lily is just plain annoying.

Lily may be one of the most pointless, shallow, superfluous characters of all time.
And that voice, that voice! Nails on a chalk board, I tell ya. I think some call it “vocal fry.”
But everyone just bows down at the alter of Lily. Hillary is worth 100 Lilys.

Oh, I know you don’t hate the actors, Rhonda. I was just joshin’ with you because I know exactly how you feel. You said it for me, and said it so well. But, I never use the word hate…too harsh for my vocabulary, and household.
I never, ever liked Jack. He has a dark side, and when it comes out, watch out!! I find the entire Gloria thing disgusting. I will never understand why the writers go there—the same with Victor and Sharon.
But, I get it, my friend. Coming on these sites is an outlet for some. For me, it’s a pleasure. We all have one thing in common: we love our soaps.
I remember watching soaps with my Grandmother, at the age of four. My mother was in law school; and my siblings and I spent much of our time with Gran.
Y&R has always been my favorite soap. This is why I am having a hard time with these insipid stories–chasing after Chloe? Really? Chelsea and Nick are sooo wrong for each other. Perhaps, I feel this way because, in my heart, I await, with bated breath, for him and Sharon to get back together.
I guess it’s because Nick and Sharon were young lovers when I was still in grammar school. I was enraptured, LOL.
I had a feeling the PTB were trying Ravi and Ashley out. I said it at his first appearance. The idea does not appeal…no way, no how. I hope the writers get the hint….they are not well received as a romantic couple.
As to your Trump double-entendre, hate is hate—and, we should not hate anyone. I hope I took your remark the wrong way. I voted for Trump; it does not mean I hate Hillary….. nor, does it make me contagious. We are all human…with feelings!! Therefore, we are better off sticking to the topic at hand—our soaps. LOL. ….been there, done that.
Later.

Wait– how did we in Canada get two days ahead– saw this episode on Tuesday– okay– it was amazing that even when Julie Chen was playing herself it was felt very forced– and I agree for sweeps this Hollywood story is a major let down– no matter who the new Billy is none of them ever capture the chemistry was Villy– so it is time to stop trying to put life into that dead horse– and for the love of all things holy, lets get rid of Cane they have destroyed that character that is painful to watch how pathetic he has become.

PANE Ashby!

Tell me about it, Immmy. The latest Cane-act-of-cowardice? He had that crucial scene where he was joking with the hockey players, cut out, to undermine Billy!!!!How obvious!!!!! Sooo self-righteous.
I don’t understand the point? Unless Cane is off the show, why would TPTB cast stones?

I thought the videographer was going to film scenes of Billy and Phyllis together and then Victoria would see the footage and be steamed. Well, maybe they’ll meet today. We’ll see.

Hmmmm. Good one, Mo!! That would have added something spicy to this blah story.

Can anyone tell me the actor ,that played Jesse, the photographer that helped Cane screw Billy over. It’s just driving me nuts. I know him from some other show, but can’t put his face with a name, Tried Googling, didn’t work. Thanks

That’s Max Adler. He was Dave Karofsky on Glee, the guy that bullied Kurt.

Thanks, Lil’ Angel. Now, I remember!!

I tried, everywhichway, Violet…but, as yourself, I came up empty.

Thanks Celia, but finally got the answer from that Lil’ Angel. Max Adler, who played Tank on Switched At Birth, which is where I had known him from.

I don’t think you are going to get ratings increase by airing Billy Victoria Phyllis Cane Lilly etc five days a week I do not give a dam about these characters their facial expressions their clothing etc is sickening

LOL, Kay. Thst’s why I love you. You do not mince words. You call it as you see it. You are a riot!!!
But, I do love the clothes on Y&R—blinding wardrobe!!
I don’t know where you live, but if you are ever in NYC during FASHION WEEK, check it out, if you can get a pass.
I never miss it!!
