Kassie DePaiva Reveals Her Final Days of our Lives Airdate!

Daytime fan favorite, Kassie DePaiva, will soon be off the canvas on-screen on Days of our Lives.  DePaiva previously announced she had been let-go from the series several months back in September.  Since DAYS tapes almost six months ahead, Kassie’s final airdate as Eve Donovan is coming up next month.

On Monday, Kassie took to her Twitter account and announced: “Enjoy these last few grains of sand in my hourglass. My last air date on @nbcdays is 2/2. Time is running out. #DAYS”

The former star of One Life to Live where she played Blair Cramer for over 20 years, came to Days of our Lives as a recast Eve.  The role was originally played by Charlotte Ross.  In story, Eve had an affair with the much-younger JJ, and eventually lost her daughter Paige at the hands of the necktie serial killer, Ben Weston, the character hasn’t been given much to do.

Many fans have been very vocal about DePaiva’s performances when Eve learns that Paige (True O’Brien) has died, andin her first scenes with A Martinez (Eduardo). They feel her work deserves an Emmy nomination in this year’s competition.

So, sad to learn that Kassie’s last DAYS airdate is fast-approaching? Let us know in the comment section below!

She wasnt Eve when she first started and was dumped with some terrible storylines but as writing improved so did KD as Eve who made the character her own…she could of made a great rival of Kate’s for Eddie…she had good chemistry with Justin…i would of liked a storyline where Theressa’s designs for Basic Black are a hit and Kate realizes without her Basic Black might of failed then Theressa abandons Basic Black and she and Eve open their own rival company.

Admired her acting..her part in OLTL was much better and wish it could have been that way on DOOL. Good luck to her..

Why doesnt GH bring sweet Kassie back to GH and cast her as Carly’s older sister she or we NEVER knew about?

Which would bring the Roxie – Reva – Cassie Guiding Light Shane full circle

After OLTL was cancelled, wasn’t Cassie on GH for a bit? I remember her in scenes with Laura Wright?

She was and she was fabulous. Unfortunately it was only for a brief time thanks to the Prospect Park lawsuit!

Letting her go was a poor decision. She’s a great actress and there was a lot of potential for story with the character.

I always thought they should have brought Frankie back & had Page be his daughter– a daughter he didn’t know about. There was so much potential with where to go with Eve. They lost an opportunity here just like they did by wasting Melissa Archer as Sabrina with that cartoon story line.

I have had the same thought! Then that would have made a much more interesting Jen/ Eve rivalry! And Paige would be a Brady (even though Frankie was adopted, it doesn’t matter).
And Frankie could have been involved as the lawyer with the whole story about the royalties from Jack’s book.
Too late, once again!
Best of luck to Kassie on her future endeavors.

There is nothing more to say. Well put, Mister Media!

It boggles the mind to think that this incredibly talented and gorgeous actress is out of work when other actresses who cannot act their way out of a hat are gainfully employed.
Send her over to GH as a new character who will kick Nina ro the curb and end this Stinko they call Nico.

Love your comments Harry!

Oh Harry. If only…

Kassie along with many of our beloved OLTL actors need to be seen on tv or online. They are very much missed. I

This is a huge loss for the show in a year of a lot of losses. KD was amazing during the aftermath of Paige’s death. The writers should have giving Eve a life other than stalking Paige and Jennifer. I will miss her amazing talent. Wake up “GH,” “B&B” or “Y&R” and pick up this powerhouse.

Agree!!

Hire her at GH-ASAP!!

Kassie will never come back to daytime, she is finished. Her singing is terrible. lmao. she needs to retire. no more talent anymore. I am sure she has lots of money.

Unless you know her personally, this comment is out of line. You NEVER know what someone’s financial situation is after unemployment. Also, unless you have the inside track, who knows if she will come back to daytime?

WRONG….A TALENTED ACTRESS CAN SURE TAKE THE PLACE OF SOME HORRIBLE ACTRESSES ON THE OTHER SOAPS!!!!!

Donna-
Extremely ignorant statement….Kassie is an excellent actress, she is beautiful, and even though she may not be 20 years old…she certainly has many many more years of working. Lastly, best not to judge financial situations, as you never know the truth AND honestly it’s none of our business.

Donna, get a clue! She is a great actress and an incredible singer!

To Donna ~ No offense but your comment is vicious and worthless.
She is a very fine actress and it’s a shame her character couldn’t have
evolved more. Her scenes with her daughter were excellent and the scene
where she told Paige goodbye for the last time was beautifully acted.
What we DON’T NEED are ignorant remarks from people like you.

Yes Donna, kassie has lots of money. Her net worth is 4 million dollars. Her singing is very bad. No hits at all. I have to say, her acting is very good at times.

please NO!

Days can make it right for Kassie, and bring back Eve for late next fall.

I sure hope Kassie puts her hat in the supporting actress category.

Besides killing off Will & thus ending the gay storyline, the firing of Kassie as Eve…was also, uncalled for!!! Two great mistakes made by DAYS last year.

….and letting the gorgeous greg vaughan go as eric…. three big mistakes!

@ damien, as gorgeous as Greg is… I’m totally okay with that move. the story-lines for Eric have run it’s course, when he was raped by Kristen and the video played at Kristen and Brady’s “wedding”, that began the end of Eric. Eric will return someday, probably with Jensen or a new actor resuming the role.

Greg needed to go, his character got really boring.

I am soon sad to see her go. I was hoping DAYS would see the error of their ways with this one. GH wold be a great new home for her as well…. I really would like to see her back on screen again…NOT on CBS cause I don’t watch either of their shows and will not start.

have to gavel :

“…I was hoping DAYS would see the error of their ways ”

at the very least… to assuage fan outcry

Kassie DePaiva brought intelligence to this show… her chemistry with Justin and Eduardo is through the roof

I’m with @Jeremy… bring her back late fall… as a new character… or as Eve

this lady belongs on DAYS

Ken Corday ! do the right thing

@ Patrick, you’re on it…Kassie does belong on DAYS, I’d prefer Eve returning in the fall, with Kassie, but definitely not a new character for her. Ken Corday does need to do the right thing, and bring KASSIE back as Eve, and re-invent the gay story-line, and bring Paul back into the mix, and recast Sonny, and maybe let’s see Paul actually date some new players in Salem, until a new Sonny returns home. I think it would be healthy for Paul to date and see what that brings to the character, right now Paul is dud. Hope Ken realizes letting Kassie go and allowing the gay story-line to fully fade away are huge errors to be remedied!!!

Bring Charlotte Ross back, other wise no no.

Kassie is much better actress than Charlotte, who was not available to return as Eve!

It’s too bad. She is a talented actress. I hope that she lands somewhere else soon.

I love Kassie, but she was miscast as Eve Donovan. I hope Kassie comes back to Daytime soon. cast her on The Bold and The Beautiful as a new character.

I agree with you Johnny. Kassie was not right in the role of Eve. I wish Kassie would be on GH, YOU NEVER KNOW.

Sad day for DOOL. Without a doubt, Kassie was the best actress they had on the show. DOOL have made a lot of mistakes lately but I think this is the biggest. Not sure how much longer I will watch it if it doesn’t get better soon. I hope Kassie lands somewhere else soon and I may just switch to where ever she goes!

I love Kassie, Lets be honest she was never Eve at all. She talked with a southern twang. LOL. The Young and The Restless should hire Kassie Depaiva. That would make my day. Blair was wonderful on One Life To Live. and I miss her so much and the rest of the cast on One Life To live.

I agree Lonny

2 things

she is the best actress on DAYS
this is the biggest mistake DAYS nuProduction Team by far

Unfortunately she was yet another casualty of the change in writers back in August. I am certain the previous writers had long term plans for Eve, but when they were let go they changed direction and as a result is this big shake up in cast members that always happens when a new writers comes on board.

I just hope they don’t kill Eve off– if they do then someone should have the writers mental health checked, because if you are so obsessed with death and dying that is the only story that comes out of you, perhaps it is time to seek professional help.

I hate to see her go, and I agree I hope they come up with something more original than killing her off, that’s getting absurd on this show.
Maybe they could have her leaving Salem in search of employment in California as a vocal teacher or something along those lines. At least then, the door might be open for her character to return.
I also agree with you Mary that when the “new writers” came in, they really changed things rather abruptly including the gay characters which are now, somehow or other, no where to be found. What purpose does Paul serve now other than being a male model for that stupid Basic Black company –

Charlotte Ross. the original Eve was the best actress. Kassie Depaiva was wonderful as Blair Kramer on OLTL, but I did not like her as Eve. Towards the end, when her daughter Paige got murdered. I warmed up to Eve Donovan. The scenes were terrific. when Eve broke down and cried her guts out. I really hope she gets nominated for a Daytime emmy and wins it.

Best post, Ricardo. Most eloquent synopsis. Your words did not shortchange Kassie, the actress, or Eve, the character. Good stuff.

Thank you, Cee Cee. I love your comments on this website. You always make my day. Cheers.

@Ticard.
Why, my thanks to you, my friend. You enlighten me, as well.

That should be @Ricardo, not Ticard. I have no clue where that came from. Lol. Autocorrect is going nuts.

I think they gave her some good storyline with the Eve and JJ affair but Paige was a dud and I think they stopped caring to write for Eve solo. It’s weird thoujgh– isnt Lorraine Broderick a friend of hers?

I agree that GH should hire Kassie as she was a great actress on OLTL. She could be Carly’s sister or a new attorney in town or just somebody to add to the acting talent on GH.

Kassie DePaiva is an excellent actress, hate that they didn’t do more to keep her at Days. Prayers she lands an even better role. I miss OLTL & Blair Cramer, now THEY knew how to give Kassie storylines.

Huge loss. I hope she goes to gh.

She is a great actress. Sorry to see her go. Not sure what they are thinking but letting her go is crazy! She is so talented. Was happy seeing Vincent I today. He is another great actor! Hope he is there at for a long time.

Kassie is a tremendous actress and did a wonderful job with what she was given by Days. Unfortunately, they painted the character into a corner with the obsession with Jennifer, Paige and JJ. Eve could be redeemed if they had developed her relationship with Justin and involved her with Theresa’s design business. But, TPTB aren’t that far sighted. A waste of Kassie’s wonderful talent and many potentially great story lines missed by the viewers.

Thank you Kassie for your tremendous work and I want to see you again and again and again and ……………

Sorry, but Kassie was never Eve Donovan just someone that played a character named Eve. Glad there is one less actor to ffwd through. Bye.

Bye felicia

I love Kassie, Ces. But, I really did not take to Eve. I actually agree with you. It’s like everything else. We develop certain ‘likes’ and ‘dislikes’ for characters and it stays with us. She will always be Blair to me….just as Michelle will always be Phyllis.
However, as much as I love Kassie, Eve was not the right role for her; not because of her performance, but because of her role….pathetic. I think she was ‘done wrong’, as so many others.
From what I am reading on these posts, Kassie was no replacement for Charlotte. Of course, I did not ‘know’ that Eve. But, I used to watch NYPD Blue, when gorgeous and oh, so talented Ms Ross played Detective Connie McDowell.

I always respect your opinion CeeCee. I didn’t mind Kassie as Blair, she did a fine job with that role, she just didn’t play Eve like I remember Eve. I was a huge Eve & Nick fan so I cringed watching Kassie *trying* to portray this character, twang and all. It never worked for me and obviously it didn’t work for Days either or they would have kept her around.
Some actors just can’t take over certain roles; especially ones that leave a mark with fans. Eve was troubled, a troublemaker, vulnerable, vixen and sex kitten all at the same time. Kassie just didn’t have IT.
So long.

@Ces.
I completely agree, my friend. That’s why I have always maintained how miscast Kassie was, regardless how a good actress she is.

Tell us how you really feel. LOL!

Hi, there.
You know, 4ever, that you are one of the ‘friends’ on these boards that I respect very much…..and, always trust your word when it comes to Days, especially. I sense how much you love the soap…LOL …
I LOOOOVE Kassie. I have sung her praises as all along. Her performance as a grieving mother was the best I have ever seen, and then some. I always maintained that the actress was demeaned by having been given such a role. She killed the role, yes……but, as many others, such as Archer and Easton, she was the means to an end. That’s show biz, I guess.
However, regardless of what any one of us may think/feel….none of us can deny the fact that she deserves the Emmy, this year. Later, my friend.

Kassie is an excellent actor, and like her loads. She needed to play a different charcater, and different storylines. I have not seen her more recent performances in the aftermath of Paige’s death, but I am sure she was great. She is very talented and strong, but for most of her time on the show she was kept in a box and needed a different role. I wish her all the best.

If Charlotte Ross were to step back into the role of Eve, newer viewers would see how jarring the differences are between Kassie’s Eve and Charlotte’s Eve, especially with writers who I believe could do Eve justice!

Kassie is an exceptional actress, but her Eve is not the Eve I knew.

COME BACK, CHARLOTTE!

I can’t believe we have all these people screaming for an actress that last played the role over 15 years ago. This is why Days has flatlined in the ratings and not risen to the top again. Die hard fans who can’t recognize the 80[s and 90’s ended long ago. They want the world to be just as it was back in the day with no changes. Charlotte Ross is nearly 50 years old now. She is not the fresh faced teen we first saw on the show. Kassie de Pavia can act rings around Charlotte Ross and I say this as a person who loathed her character on One Life to Live. Ms. Depavia is one talented lady and her leaving Days is that shows loss.

Charlotte is a great actress. It’s been 25 years since she was on DAYS. She’ll turn 48 tomorrow. She is the original Eve.

Kassie’s great, but the previous writers did not do her any favors.

DAYS has not flatlined in the ratings!

Charlotte Ross was, is and always will be beautiful!!!!!

If only the writers had known what to do with Kassie from the beginning. They so wasted such a great talent.

GH needs to pick up this talented actress, Love her on OLTL and would love for her to come to GH and reunite with Franco/Todd lol

I like Kassie and wish her luck. After killing off Paige, Eve was left with basically no story. She rarely sees Theresa. It’s a shame (her lack of story) especially with her ex in town. I hope she’s hitting him up for all his back child support.

I think for those saying Kassie was miscast. The true blame needs to be put on the writers. Even if Charlotte was playing the role, Eve was still written as being pathetic. And Days proved once again that great characters can NEVER come home again. How many amazing characters from the past (ever portrayed by the original actors) have come back to only be totally wrecked by the writing teams.

I still put the blame on 1 persons shoulders and thats Ken Corday. Im sorry but how many times can he do those stupid plans to save Days. I feel like every 2-4 years he starts up this Campaign and nothing gets better. Its time for him to become a Sr. Exec Producer and hire an incredible Exec producer to come in and steer this ship the right course. But who???

Out of all of the soaps on air, none of them compare to the greatness that they were 20 yrs ago. Daytime has given up. They never promote their own shows. Primetime commercials are played during the day, but the opposite doesnt happen. There has been no interest in finding the next great Daytime writer. The same writers are just recycled. The Daytime Execs at every network have truly given up. Its like they are just coasting by. No one is trying to be inventive or groundbreaking.

When is the last time a REAL Storyline with a beginning, middle, and end was presented. I feel like its just one plot, to the next plot line, to the next plot line. I still think about the YR aids storyline, or GH and Monica’s breast cancer storyline, Robin & Stone’s love story, Nick and Sharon’s love story, Carrie and Austin’s love story, and BB’s original Caroline/Ridge/Brooke/Taylor epic story. Where is that type of Storytelling. Storytelling that actually goes somewhere. I still remember as a kid being glued to the screen when Stephanie lived on Skid Row. There were all these fun things happening, while also learning stuff at the same time.

I truly just see most soaps as Plot lines, because there is no true storytelling going on. So many missed opportunities. Sharon’s bipolar SL could have been something of true value, but it became a cray cray joke instead of being handled with care. GH could have made the Franco/Scott SL about Father and sons truly trying to get to know each other, but instead it just became a joke. I mean has Franco been told his grandparents live in PC, or that his sister is out there. Multi-generational Storytellng is dead. And Im about to give up, because nothing seems to change in this genre. Im tired of Mask being ripped off, dopplegangers, or brainwashing & microchips, or Victor’s who seem to have eyes EVERYWHERE and can buy off anyone, and never emotionally pays for ANYTHING. I want stories about Lust, Love, and Betrayal. Havent these writers watched a Dateline. They could learn a thing or two.

This is a huge loss for DAYS. Kassie DePaiva is one of daytime’s true gems, and a die-hard advocate for the daytime genre. She’s a class act and a phenomenal actress, who has a real presence on screen and whose character had loads of potential. I’ve liked Eve from the beginning, mostly because of Kassie, and since Paige’s death, I’ve warmed up to her even more. It’s a huge shame that she’s being let go now, especially when she had a possible future with Justin and Eduardo just came to town.

Some people believe she was miscast as Eve, but the real problem here wasn’t the character, it was the writing. Just like with Melissa Archer as Serena, the character could have worked (and did in her last few days before being killed off) but the writing at the beginning of her stint was just awful. The same goes for Eve, she was an unlikable character at the beginning and that was because of the writing.

Hopefully Kassie will find a new hope on daytime, maybe as Jenny Eckert on GH. She is a great actress and really deserves an Emmy this year for her phenomenal work. DAYS has just lost another great actor.

I did not watch when Ross played Eve….and, I, for one have no clue whether Kassie was miscast or not. All I know is that the role was too undignified for the Kassie I was used to seeing….that is, Blair. Not that Blair was unblemished, but, she had a place in Llanview. I always felt, Kassie, as Eve, did not belong. That’s only my opinion….does not mean it is so. I wanted so much more for this beautiful, gifted actress. She was reduced to ‘playing’ footsie with a boy…her daughter’s boyfriend, no less. I honestly found that sort of a fall from grace. She deserved better than that.
Regardless of such a disgusting role, I praise her acting….she made everyone else look like amateurs; especially her mourning scenes. I probably am boring you all for constantly repeating myself….Kassie deserves the Emmy.
Furthermore, while Suzanne Rogers ( whom I love and respect) acted her anguish at the loss of her son excellently; her performance didn’t even come close to Kassie’s.

PS.
Please forgive me for sounding as if I can’t make up my mind about Kassie’s role. To me she was miscast….but I really do not know how true that is for others….as I said I have no clue. All I can do is go according to what you beautiful people say. You, the longtime fans are the only ones who can weed out the ‘good’ from the ‘bad’. Charlotte Ross is exceptionally talented, as well; and, she ‘made’ Eve. Eve is not my favorite character, but, who’s to say I would not have loved Charlotte’s Eve? Many actors are able to acclimate themselves in a new role and are simultaneously accepted by the viewer. By the same token, as we all know, some actors do not fulfill recast roles. It is damned if you do and damned if you don’t. But, we have all seen what happens to outstanding actors in the wrong roles. I have always felt that the part of Eve was a very demeaning role for Kassie.

I agree with you and Jimmy above. I cant help but feeling that the writers killed Paige off and are letting Kassie go in an attempt to “redeem” the degenerate character of JJ. As long as the mother and daughter were on the show, they were a reminder of JJ’s affair and bad character. With them out of the way, the writers are hoping that viewers can forget that storyline and embrace the former drug dealer as a crusading cop and model boyfriend for Gaby. They even had JJ morally denouncing Chad to Abby the other day, which was absurd given his own history.

@Nick.
Right on!!!! I have never liked JJ and never will. You are so en pointe; hats off to you, Nick for putting some logic into this. Suddenly this spoiled Horton brat-kid with a passel of crimes and mischief in his ‘resume’ is a shining star? Bad-mouthing Chad? Yeah, I know…that’s the Hortons’ delusional, pristine reputation coming to the fore. You surely call it, Nick!

I really liked Kassie on Days and hope they find some way to bring her back I will really miss her on the show. Maybe GH

Days Of Our Lives

Stephen Schnetzer Talks On His Return to Days of our Lives and Working with Susan Seaforth Hayes In Emotional Episodes

Who says you can’t go home again? In the case of Another World favorite, Stephen Schnetzer (ex-Cass Winthrop), he has proven that it is true, and you can go back to your soap roots and where it all started for you.

Last week on April 11th, Schnetzer, along with several other key returns were on set at Days of our Lives taping all-new episodes of the Peacock streaming soap opera, centering on the funeral of Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), and as part of the iconic soap opera’s 15,000th episode.

Stephen is reprising his first daytime role as Steve Olson, the brother of Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). The last time Schnetzer appeared on a DAYS set was during his one and only run on the show from 1978 to 1980. Clearly, viewers will be in for some very emotional scenes when Steve returns to Salem to be there for his sister, Julie in her time of need. In real-life, Susan has been going through her own grief, having just lost Bill back on January 12th at the age of 98.

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Stephen during the 15K episode celebration ceremony, and during a break from taping the gut-wrenching funeral scenes, to get his thoughts on being part of these highly-anticipated moments that will air later this year in December. Here’s what he shared with us below.

What has this been like for you to work with Susan Seaforth Hayes after all of these years?

STEPHEN: She’s a dream and she’s so bright. We ran lines yesterday and we ended up just visiting for about 45 minutes and just catching up and telling tales about each other’s career. She even dropped off the autobiography that she and Bill did. And being back here at DAYS, every time I turn a corner, there’s another familiar face. When I was on the show 40 more years ago, a bunch of the guys, played softball on a team together. This is really a trip down memory lane as I knew it would be.

Taping Doug’s funeral must be a hard day for Susan. Are you checking in with her to help hold her up through this?

STEPHEN: I am and I’m checking in with Amy Shaughnessy (Susan’s assistant), and she’s holding her up more than anybody. We’re there for each other.

There will obviously be some major hankie-inducing moments when Steve comes back to Salem to console his sister.

STEPHEN: Oh, wait till you see it in December. It’s going to be great.

Were you surprised you got this call to come back to the show decades later?

STEPHEN: It was out of the blue! I was completely surprised. They should have called me decades ago! That’s what surprised me. When Another World went down, I thought I’d land somewhere else and it never happened. That was more of a surprise.

Cass is such an identifiable character for you. As well, you and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia Gallant) are so synonymous together as best friends Cass and Felicia from Another World. When fans heard you were reprising your role as Steve Olson on DAYS, they are now hoping there will be more of you on the show to come.

STEPHEN: Steven Olson is a real “Cassian “character. I cut my teeth on Steve Olson and that’s how Cass was introduced. He was kind of a roguish charmer. And then when the character stuck for Another World, they rehabilitated me, and turned me into one of the shows heroes. And that’s what would’ve happened if I stayed as Steve Olson probably. So, Steve is the ‘pre-Cass’, Cass.

As the story goes, you originally decided to leave Days of our Lives?

STEPHEN: I was never on contract. I was doing a day and a half a week and I got a Broadway play directed by Franco Zeffirelli starring Joan Plowright and Frank Finlay. I was able to it as I didn’t have to break a contract or anything. I cut loose and went back to New York for that.

How well did you get to know Bill Hayes during your first time around on DAYS?

STEPHEN: My first episode was with Bill and Susan, as her long lost brother coming into Salem. They were so good to me. They were so kind. I had been doing eight years of classical repertory theater, never been in front of a camera. I tell everybody, it took me longer than any other actor I’ve ever seen to get comfortable in front of a camera. And they were very supportive at that time in my career. Coming back to honor Bill now in 2024, and to be see Susan, I am just so happy to be here.

Looking forward to seeing the scenes between Stephen and Susan Seaforth Hayes come December and Doug’s funeral and surrounding episodes? Do you hope that DAYS might bring the character of Steve Olson back for a longer stay? Comment below.
