If you caught today’s hankie-inducing moments on Days of our Lives, you know that Theo Carver (Kyler Pettis said a tearful goodbye to his family and loved ones which included: Abe, Lani, JJ, Eli, Valerie, Ciara, and Claire.

In story, Theo is being sent to South Africa for a year to be part of a clinical trial for his medical condition sustained following JJ shooting him and his surgery.

Kyler Pettis took this opportunity to share a heartfelt post on his time at DAYS and on the airing of his final episode by stating: “I am so filled with emotion after watching the final scenes I was able to play as Theo Carver.  I want to take this time to thank everyone at Days for opening up the door to some amazing, embarrassing, and hard work that I was able to experience being on set with some of the hardest working actors in the business. I want to thank all the fans that have shown me love, especially the acknowledgement if the honest portrayal I worked hard on as a young adult on the autistic spectrum. I was honored to represent you and your approval of me means more than you know. And lastly, I want to thank the man Theo himself for showing me that no matter what life throws at you, your heart and spirit are the strongest tools we have on this journey we call life.  I thank you.  I love you. Goodnight!”

So, what did you think of Kyler’s final scenes with his castmates? What did you think of his heartfelt post? Comment below.

watching the NEW Ciera Alice and Theo HUG it out today… made me cry

and MARVEL

@ how the SORAS TEEN SET is so complete… Tripp / Theo / Claire / Ciera

who would have thought all this would be?

I LIKEN Theo in the same context as Will . BOTH are so well liked valued and looked after.

as I’ve posted… WHO CARES WHAT AN INNOCENT IMMATURE MISTAKE… kYLER MADE… ( RUMOUR MILL IN HIS PUTTING ON INTERNET… FUTURE STORY )

it was a mistake… 6 months of airtime is just that… so long ago… the show is so good.. and it’s a pity it’s come down to this.

no one cares ??? short memory here.. because all I care about is how complete this show is.

if he wanted to stay employed @DAYS. I say get over it. what’s the real story ?

Mr Kyler Pettis . Take care.. wow did you deliver

What mistake? He wants to stay? Fill the rest of us in, please.

Kyler’s message is sweet. So sorry he’s gone for a year or more.

shucks… i’m still venting and sorry to see him going… IF… what was posted a while back.. that he mistakenly posted on twitter … pictures of him sharing what was upcoming on the show. leaking information… I understand is hush hush.

nevertheless… when you have a complete gell of actors who comprise a core family… and it’s dismantled…

I just fell in love with .. how it started… the SORAS TEEN Theo and his dad… just took me. this father and son duo… against the world… from the time their mother and wife.. Lexie past on. that still smarts . LOVE HER.

who knows if a recast is on the horizon. I am so taken with James Reynolds… that not having his and Lexie son on the show… seems wrong

for Abe : whew! he’s got Lani, Valerie and Eli. you just have to laugh and beam he’s going to be a grandfather

for Kayla and Steve : they will eventually be truly sharing Tripp. once we see scenes with Kayla and Tripp “bonding” again. it should happen

so to see TWO CORE FAMILAL.. without children

????

these 4 are the bomb… BESTEST @expressing LOVE

Abe / Valerie / Kayla / Steve (patch)

Patch ! his vision loss and weak spells… are making me cry and scared.

I recall not so long ago.. it was rumoured that they were even going to bring back another son for Justin and Adrienne…. ????

i’m loving this show

I am very sorry to see Kyler Pettis leave the show. I think he did an excellent job playing Theo. TPTB made a big mistake letting him go. I am going to miss him terribly. The very best of luck in the future Kyler.

Totally agree Llanviewer717…you said everything I was going too!

I will miss Theo so, so much……
And Kyler….I can sense you speak from the heart by your articulate writing.
Thank you for giving us, the fans, your all and your best.
You are, not only, a talented actor, but one of the best looking guys on Daytime TV.
Good luck in all your endeavors, in the hopes of seeing you return to your rightful place….DOOL. Bonne Chance!!

I hope they dont recast him…he was the only one from the teen set who was good in his role…

I know, Jimmy….. Kyler had it all….looks, talent, and mostly professionalism.
It will feel so weird if he is recast.
Now that he’s gone, I hope Claire will soon follow….. that’s one character I would not mind being recast.

I love Theo and will truly miss his character. Kyler is the best actor Days had in that young group of players. I wish that Chad and Andre could have said farewell on his last day.

I’m going to miss him, he was terrific from his first day. Good luck to him.

I thought KP did an amazing job as Theo. A legacy character with functioning autism. I’m not sure of the circumstances surrounding Kyler’s departure but I wish the actor many roles going forward. The character seems to be returning eventually, based on the episode, so if it is a recast hopefully the next individual will do it justice, as well.

Was it his choice to leave or Days?

I will miss him. He was my favorite DOOL character. He did a fantastic job as Theo.

He was/is terrific and DOOL’s loss. Hope they will hire him back soon.

I’m glad to see that Theo got to have goodbye scenes with so many characters.I also think the show will bring Theo back eventually since he is Abe’s son and Stefano’s grandson which makes him a DiMera. So i wouldn’t be surprised if Theo is back by the Summer whether it’s Kyler playing him or a new actor.

I’m new to the show and fell in love with the character even in his coma! LOL…his beautiful, sensitive, sweet portrayal of this guy with a heart–of-gold, keen sensitivity and vulnerability was powerful and enough to grab this new fan in in a matter of days.

Shame that they let him go. I’m hopeful that “time heals all wounds” will not only have Theo walking again but in Kyler’s shoes upon his return!

Please bring him to B&B as the new Zende. This man is FINE!

On Friday, reports surfaced that Steve Kent, Senior Executive Vice President of Programming at Sony Pictures Television, is no longer with the company and overseeing the Sony soap operas, Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless.

According to Soap Opera Digest, a set side source reported that Kent’s last day was last Friday, April 12th, which was one day after what would have been his final appearance in his Sony VP role at the Days of our Lives 15,000th episode on set celebration.
