Lexi Ainsworth Returns To General Hospital As Kristina!

Great news this morning out of Soap Opera Digest!  One of the most talented young actresses out there, Lexi Ainsworth is returning to her role as Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) daughter, Kristina Davis on General Hospital!

The Daytime Emmy nominated Ainsworth (she received a nod in 2011), played the role from 2009-2011, and then the series decided to age the character and brought in actress Lindsey Morgan who was last on the Port Charles canvas in 2013!

Viewers should anticipate seeing Lexi make her re-emergence on GH sometimes in late August/early September!’

Excited on-screen mom, Nancy Lee Grahn tweeted about the news: “#davisgirls in the house. #gh @_lexiainsworth @kellymonaco1 @haley_pullos. Mama’s happy!!!”  Meanwhile, Haley Pullos tweeted her excitement on the news:  “GUYS im being reunited with my sister!!!!!!! @_lexiainsworth ive missed you so much ”

Lexi has been busy performing in other film and TV projects including her recent 2015 feature with Y&R’s Hunter King (Summer), “A Girl Like Her”.  Ainsworth has also been studying at Wesleyan University.

What do you think of the news of Lexi returning to GH? Comment below!

The right role is coming back to the show, but the wrong actress is portraying her. Lindsey Morgan fit so much better in the role of Kristina, if only the writing had supported the abilities she has as an actress.

This is exciting, Lexi was always great in the role of Christina, and for me, Lindsey Morgan wasn’t a strong actress in my opinion. I love Lexi Ainsworth and am grateful she’s coming back, she always had nice chemistry with Nancy, Maurice, and the young actress who plays Molly.

I take it you haven’t seen the 100? Lindsey Morgan is amazing on it. I think she is a great actress. But her Kristina wasn’t my favorite. Lexi got better writing. I can barely recall the stories with Lindsey’s Kristina. I’m sooo happy they brought Lexi back. Its about time!

Lindsey Morgan was not up the challenge of working with MB or NLG. They are powerhouses, and she simply was not. I was glad to see her go, and I was also glad the role wasn’t recast right away. I’ve always thought that Lexi should come back, so it’s great to see that happen.

Kristina has always been insecure where Sonny is concerned, and now, with a new baby sister, it should be interesting. I do see her pairing well with NuDillon.

Lindsey Morgan never had the material to act against Nancy, who is an excellent actress. Lindsey is a powerhouse, and was not given the right material or storyline to showcase how excellent her acting talents. Lexi is a sub-par actress, who whined non-stop in her portrayal of Kristina.

Awesome sauce, I’m so excited Lexie is comng back. I have really missed her.

From the two looks of it, Kristina takes after Alexis…lol…maybe she will be a new love interest for Dillion…after they send Valerie chopping…i mean packing…lol

Oh! I knew what you meant, and I loved it…

Dillon is the only one for Kristina. Because the rest of the male cast is related to her.

Hahaha!

Spot on, jimh! That was my very first thought, too, but you beat me to the punch! (Congratulations!)…LOL…Having said that, I’m not thrilled with this announcement….I want LESS exposure for Alexis, et al, and I’m not just referring to her cleavage! Bringing back another of her three daughters by three different men will add nothing to the show. Quite frankly, the only one who makes a whit of difference is Sam….the rest of the Davis-Corinthos-Lansing clan could go away forever and not be missed!

Me too…i wouldnt miss them—rarely pay attention when they are on…more entertaining removing lint from my belly button…lol…i liked NG so much better on Santa Barbara with Lane Davies who played Mason…i miss that soap!!!

Perhaps she’s the girl Dillon had a relationship with in LA? He clearly didn’t recognize Morgan, so it’s likely he wouldn’t have recognized Kristina, either. She just would have had to have been going under a different name, or last name, anyway, which wouldn’t be much of a stretch given how she left town.

Could be…prefer her with Dillon over Val!!!

Ha, you might be right. At least I can accept some bit of history there to tie things into her returning. I like Dylan. Lulu is wasting her time with that dull drip Dante – he can have Big Cheese Valerie.

@jimh….I hear you on the SB sentiment! NLG and Lane Davies were absolute poetry in motion….it almost beggars belief that the sublime Julia Wainwright has morphed into the mediocre Alexis Davis!

I truly missed Lexi on GH. I am happy for her return and I hope GH gives her a great story line. Lexi I see an Emmy coming your way. Lot of love.

It’s about time!

This is the first right thing Passante & Altman are doing. Hopefully, she doesn’t come back with a music box full of precious gems, a murder mystery, and an evil secret twin.

Passanante and Altman don’t have control of who comes and goes, that’s up to Frank and ABC. All they do is write the entrances/exits for the characters.

@Jimmy… However they can SUGGEST certain actors for the roles…
Like Ron did with Maura for Ava….

I could’ve done without her returning there are already so many kids we don’t see on the show that are young & being raised Cameron, Adian, Josslyn unless your Spencer or Jake the rest must be locked in a closet.

And so is Haley

i think this is great news, love lexi, although i was also a fan of linsey morgan, both actress great, but lexi didn’t deserve to loose her role just cause RG and JFP thought she was to young for the role.. can’t wait to see her with molly.

Loved her as Kristina!! Did not like the other one at all.

that’s fine – i really like the actress & her character is an offspring of two well established people on the canvas – but my question is are we going to see an interesting story for this character…………
gh cast is huge right now – are interesting storylines going to be coming for them……..
i say get rid of some of the unnecessary dead weight before tptb start bringing on more characters………….

I didn’t care for LA in the role of Kristina at all. I guess I’ll add this character to the list of fast forwards that is becoming increasingly large.

Awesome news!!!

Yes!
Lexi/Ainsworth is a great return!
It is obvious RC was in process of building up the Corinthos and Davis family before he was let go..
To bring her in takes wheeling and dealing and approval, it was RC..
Ron also brought back Morgan and Dillion Q, and a Spenser, keeping the families alive !

I hope she will be written well .. Seems RC had looked ahead to some good family stuff..
Keeping the families going is a good thing..

Yes! RC was a genius at family drama!! He will be sorely missed!

You are so right

Dear GH – please allow Kristina to be a LOT more mature than she was before, she has the potential to be way more than a whiney brat.

That Lindsey Morgan interpretation of the character was horrid!! She always looked like she was frowning even when she was smiling. Was so happy when she left.

To me, this is good news! She’s a talented actress with a fan base on the show. I think it’s time for the character to be back on the canvas. Maybe we’ll see more of Molly now. I wasn’t crazy about the writing and recast last time, but I was not as against it as some.

Anyone else think it’s a good time to think about recasting Ethan?? Don’t get me wrong– LOVE Nathan Parsons & know it would be really hard to find a replacement that works. But Nathan isn’t coming back for anything long term, and w/ Luke & Lucky gone I think there needs more Spencer presence on set.

If anything, I would want them to recast Lucky. I know it would be a monumental task, since Jonathan Jackson is so amazing and well-liked in the role, but there have been other actors to play Lucky in the past, and no shortage of great actors out there. It doesn’t make sense why Lucky is staying away either, aside from JJ not being able to rejoin the show permanently.

Plus, if Lucky returns to the PCPD, that means that hopefully Nathan can leave town and never return. I can’t stand Ryan Paevey, and I don’t understand why Nathan is almost always wrapped up in front-burner story. He isn’t right now, but was not too long ago. He doesn’t have the acting chops to pull it off.

This is great news, she is a wonderful actress. I am so happy Lexi is coming back. Now they need to bring back Emily and Alan Quartermaine. They are not dead at all, Rumor is Helena has them hostage.

Not sure about Alan, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Helena has Emily stowed away somewhere. My theory was that Nikolas’ true motive for taking over ELQ is so that he could give it to Helena in exchange for Emily being revived, so he could have his true love back.

Ugh.

All I see when I read this is another Corinthos kid which means more screen time for Sonny…

Ditto.

Alan, I will wholeheartedly second your “Ugh.”…

Yay! Yay! Yay! I love her in that role. I just wish she had been there with Nathan Parsons… they had some really great scenes together.

yes, Lexi and Nathan Parsons (Ethan) really did have fabulous chemistry. And, I thought how great it would be if Christina and Ethan were reunited and, it’s said Ethan is already gone…but, definitely not forgotten. Maybe, Nathan Parsons can return to GH again. He was fabulous in the return earlier in the month.

Great news! I always loved Lexi as Kristina, and didn’t understand why they chose to recast the role. Lindsey Morgan never fit right with the role, and didn’t have the acting chops to pull it off. She’s busy with The 100 now anyway. Very happy to see Lexi back, and Kristina too. It’s been far too long, and the younger set needs to be beefed up.

Hopefully the next moves GH makes are to either recast or get rid of Kiki, and bring back Serena Baldwin.

I’m in favor of just eliminating Kiki altogether. The name alone grates on my every last nerve!

Agreed, for the life of me I don’t understand why they didn’t just call her by her real name – Lauren. Or, her middle name could even be shortened to Katie. But why Kiki? It sounds like a name you’d give a dog.

Lol!! I wouldnt even name my dog KIki

Amazing news! N

Loved Lexi as Kristina! I wished Ethan could’ve stayed in pPC cause I really liked Ethan and Kristina.

It blew my mind totally when GH let Lexi go. I was really invested in she and Ethan; they were magic. Fingers crossed that Nathan will come back now. Hey, you never know…?

I am so excited that Lexi is returning as Kristina on General Hospital.
🙂

Welcome back Lexi! So glad she’s back. Lexi and Halie look like real sisters and such a great match!

Who is the Quartermaine heir? They dissolved that storyline after “kiki wasn’t a Q” could it be Valerie? IsJustus Ward her father?

Thats great news shes coming back, really liked kristina wth Ethan the best!! They should bring back nathan parsons too!

I loved Lexi Ainsworth on general hospital. I hope general hospital keeps her. She plays the best Kristina to me. I hope she gets to have more screen time soon.

No way. Molly is an excellent actress! I’m thrilled the 3 girls are back together with their “mom”, Alexis!
