NASHVILLE Casting New Role Of Markus Kane! Who Would You Suggest For The Part?

Casting news out of ABC’s Music City drama, Nashville!

The sudsy series which will return for its fourth season this fall, which also stars Jonathan Jackson (Avery and GH’s Lucky), along with Connie Britton  (Rayna) and Hayden Panettiere (Juliette), is adding a new character to the mix.

The series is looking to cast the role of Markus Kane, a globally successful, late-20s to 40 something artist who’s looking for a new label to represent him as a solo act, enter Rayna James and her Highway 65  label! Apparently, Markus has been big in rock and roll and plays guitar like no other, but deep down he is a storyteller, and a compelling songwriter.

But there is a twist according to TV Line:  “Things are great … until Markus realizes how much Rayna’s fledgling company needs his solo album to be a hit.  That’s when his controlling, narcissistic side comes out, and he’ll test his boss’ boundaries throughout the writing, recording and release of his first solo album.”

The character could be slated for up to ten episodes of the series, and the show is looking for a solid actor, singer, and musician to fill this key role!

So, anyone from primetime, music, daytime, you think would be an excellent candidate for the role of Markus Kane on Nashville?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Would definitely love to see Jason Thompson fill this role. He’s so talented and I think it’s high time he made the jump from daytime to primetime for sure. Plus, he sings, plays guitar and writes. Think he’d be a good fit.
