Finally!  The Chew is doing a little crossover on their talk/foodie show invading the lives of four residents of Port Charles in a special series all next week entitled “Behind The Soap Screen”.

General Hospital’s Finola Hughes, Julie Marie Berman, Ingo Rademacher and Erik Valdez are the subjects and are featured with special appearances by Sebastian Roche and Lindsey Morgan.  The segments begin next Monday, September 24th!

ABC put out this official press release for tune-in that gives some details of what to look for:  Gordon Elliott, executive producer of  The Chew, announced today that the talk & lifestyle show will launch a four-part series next week entitled “Behind the Soap Screen,” featuring an in-depth look into the lives of Julie Berman (Lulu Spencer), Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), Ingo Rademacher (Jasper ‘Jax’ Jacks) and Erik Valdez (Trey Mitchell). The stars will open their homes to The Chew for a glance into their private, off-screen lives, sharing recipes and hobbies. “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to showcase our neighbors from Port Charles,” said Elliott. “Daytime television is all about showcasing personalities, building relationships and storytelling, and many of the General Hospital actors are closet gourmets. We are looking forward to having them on the show.”

An outing to Julie Berman’s home includes a peek at her kitchen, where she and husband, Michael Grady, prepare one of their favorite dishes, a grilled chicken and basil pizza.  Finola Hughes proudly displays her green thumb as she tends her impressive vegetable garden in Malibu. The actress, who grows apples, plums, peaches and avocados, prepares a mouth-watering feta, cherry tomato, kalamata olive creation with flatbread, all with ingredients from her garden.

Ingo Rademacher unveils his breathtaking Hawaiian home, where he resides with his wife and two children. Rademacher’s trip includes his backyard, where he grows avocados and raises livestock. He shares his recipe for the perfect avocado and scallion omelet, and takes fellow General Hospital co-star Sebastian Roche (“Jerry Jacks”) for a paddleboard lesson.

Texas born and raised Erik Valdez cooks a dish he learned from his grandmother. He puts his own spin on her classic ground turkey taco recipe with guacamole, Pico de Gallo, rice and beans, and cooks for his General Hospital co-star, Lindsey Morgan (“Kristina Davis”).

So clearly with their ratings in need of a spike, who does The Chew turn to now? Of course, GH!  However, that being said, are you going to give the show a look-see and see what some of your GH faves have got cookin’ next week?  Let us know! And remember The Chew now airs one hour before General Hospital in the new re-jiggered line-up!

Watched GH for 40 years, have watched The Chew from day one. Love them both, can’t wait for crossover.

How can you watch that greasy haired man who skimmed 5.25 million dollars in tips from his waiters and he’s a millionaire. He also refuse to stop a man from being sexually harass in his resturant. He didn’t want to be grooped by another man.Hell ABC needs to call Bernie Madoff up and have cooking with the theives.Google Mario skims waiters tips,Its not old news how he operates. In respect for hard worker waiters who need them tips he needs to go.He is a theif. He also needs a damn bath and was that greasy hair.bb

I disagree with Karen…No CHew On GH>>>>>>>.

This GH fan will not watch a theif called Mario. How can anyone watch a man who skimmed 5.25 million dollars off his waiters.Google it.He;s a downright rich theif. He should be removed from Tv.

The Chew makes me sick. I would never watch one second of the stupid cooking show. I have to stomach the commercials during GH and all I see are idiots talking with their mouths full. I used to watch “What Not to Wear” and I haven’t watched it since I saw Clinton Kelly on the Chew. Out of respect for unemployed actors and staff I refuse the Chew. I don’t care who comes on whether it be Laura Wright, Michael Easton, Susan Lucci… I would rather die.

Clinton Kelly called us soap fans Morons and Turds. When people posted on hs facebook nothing personnal but will not watch anything that replace soaps. That was his reply. One person said her reply was not bad to him and just wanted him to know it was the soaps she would back and he called her a coward for not having her picture on her post and some bad stuff. He is very mean if you don’t kiss his @ss.He had no reason to be that rude.

Won’t be watching the show but will hope to see the segments on youtube or something.

I have no interest in a show like the Chew even with GH actors o it. With the exception of GH, I’ve sworn off ABC anyway.

NO Chew period, not even with GH actors on it, Never!

Same here. Only watch GH on ABC/d, boycotting the rest.

they want to steal the soaps viewers after they tried to kill the soaps, not for me.

Nope. I’m sure someone will put the clips on YouTube and I may watch it there. But ABC won’t get my ratings.

I have always watched The Chew from day one and am excited to see Julie Berman at home.In fact i will love to see all of these actors.

Glad to see you are a loyal AMC fan!

I will never watch the ratty show ABC destroyed AMC for. I admit I’m also very gratified to find that most people in this thread and others about this horrid show feel the same way.

I agree with Pav. If I want a QUALITY cooking show, then I turn to Food Network or any of the cable shows. Heck I might watch a YouTube video or PBS on cooking before I watch a network reality show that took the place of a soap opera.

No where in their post do they saw that they use to watch AMC, Linda.
Though even if they did, it’s quite possible to enjoy The Chew and still be a loyal AMC fan.

Look at my reply above Pink. How can you back a millionaire who took from his hard workin g waiters.People should be ashame.cccc

How can a soap fan back a show that took the place of our soaps.Especially one that is a downright theif.Google Mario skims 5.25 millions off his waiters. Is that what Tv has come to.ABC give Bernie Madoff a call.He needs a job.

That’s is how much he paid back

Chris heard it was 5 times more then he paid back.More like 29 million in tips but noone can get an accurate account on that.

so sorry GH cast. I will never watch a show the hepled exit what I watched for years AMC. This will never air in my home ever………I can watch all my favorite friendly actors on shows that matter and of course our own GH.
The spew CHEW can go down with Katie Wierd-yick….

NO CHEW FOR my house………….EVER……….!!!!

Not a chance in HELL, the show is stupid. I can wait one hour to see these actors perform in the only daytime show on ABC I will watch.

I smell desperation on the part of ABC in support of The Chew.

Hopefully whomever tunes in for GH, tunes right out the next day.

Hey wasn’t there some reality show that involved soap stars and others that did something JUST like this on soap net some years ago? I vaguely remember something about one of the male soap stars giving a tour of his home and then seeing what he does at home – it sometimes included cooking.

That part about what Ingo is going to do just sounds so deja vu to me.

I answered my own question. It was called 1 Day With and Wally Kurth hosted it. The tipoff for me was that Ingo did a segment that involved water sports as many may know he likes to compete in the Iron Man Triathalon.

An idea like The Chew is doing could be really good if they focused it on soap stars and their lives and unloaded everyone but Clinton Kelly and Mike Simon as they are likeable.

Won’t watch anything on ABC but Gh.End of that question.

I aree with Rose!!!!!!!!!!

Rose and susan M, what I meant was that what The Chew is doing is just like what SoapNet did with a show called 1 Day With that was hosted by Wally Kurth. The “talent” behind The Chew probably saw this and decided to copy the idea. It is so transparent because Ingo Rademacher did pretty much the same thing on 1 Day With when he showed his water sports. It is pathetic that they are trying to copy.

What I meant about the idea being good was not as a replacement to what’s left of our soaps, but back on a network like SoapNet because some viewers do like to see what the stars do at home and behind the scenes, but not at the expense of taking viewers away from the remaining soaps or losing a soap to a stupid reality/cooking show.

I will also be one of those who will watch the clips on You Tube. I have no desire to watch the spew – regardless who is on. I am glad to see General Hospital get some promotion (FINALLY!) – but I can’t give ABC/D any ratings other than when I watch GH. I do not feel it will hurt the actors by not tuning in. They get it.

Just goes to show how worried about the Spew ABC is. Will never ever watch the Spew! Bring back AMC!

Ditto!!!!!!!!!

well, I might just record 2 shows next week — ahhhh, but my viewing will not be counted in the Spew’s ratings, so they won’t even know I was recording!

No way on this earth will I ever watch an episode of the Spew! It doesn’t matter who their guests are, my boycott of ABC/D continues. This is their way of trying to get the soap fans back watching their daytime lineup, and I can confidently say that it’s not going to work!

S=Rel soap fans don’t back the show that replaced there soaps.good to the cooking channel.OOPs didn’t they get rid of Mario?Believe I red they phase him out.Maybe it was because he stole from his employees.

I won’t watch the Chew. Remember Mario Batali telling soap fans “to get over it”? He is just plain rude!

It’s more than him being rude. The guy is arrogant and has this holier than thou attitude. Hey, I’m Italian American too, but I don’t talk down to people the way he does with his cuisine and complicated recipes (which are not that great, by the way – especially the way he does the eggs in his tiramisu!). And then cheating his waitstaff out of tips. That is the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Of all the hosts that one can stomach, I would say it was Clinton Kelly and Mike Symon. Clinton was not bad with London and Symon is good as an Iron Chef. I still would not choose this over soaps any day.

No way , no how. I will not watch the Chew period…but to “celebrate” soap actors on the anniversary of the demise of AMC? I mean the timing can’t be coincidental..it’s another slap in the face if you ask me. You got to be kidding? I am going to help give the Chew higher ratings by using soaps? Ummmm..NO!!! I wouldn’t even bother with clips..as it’s annoying to me that these GH actors chose to appear on the show to being with. I”ll pass.

The Chew must be pretty desperate to do this.. Which means they are not doing well at all………….No surprise on that…Don’t like that the chew will invade GH nt. wk. at all..I can’t stand that show & the goofy peol-ple on it…Their comericals make me throw-up..And I will change the channel on GH when I see The Chew crew…They have a lot of nerve coming on GH !!!!!!! We don’t want thier greasy spoon on GH…What an insult to us the soap fans.We don’t want to boost their ratings at all…..It starts Mon. 24..Is this crap going to invade GH for a couple of days or all week!!!!!! Gordon Scott Excutive producer of The Chew is nuts with this screwball idea…I think it is a slap in the face to the soap fans…I can’t stand this cooking show (all cooking shows)..I never watch them…And I certainly don’t wan to see them on my soap….Don’t like this at all !!!!!!!!!!

I would only watch if God was on there. What a piece of crap by ABC. They are on the bottom of everything and they will never get any higher. Greasy disgusting Mario Batelli who steals money from his hard working employees. They can put on anyone they want and still no one will watch more of ABC’s decimated daytime lineup except their only really good show GH.

Oh for crying out loud, ABC/Disney! We will not watch The Spew! I don’t care who you put on the show. I watch GH for the stars of GH. I will not be manipulated into watching The Spew! We want All My Children and One Life to Live to be released so they can find a new home! NOTE TO FANS! DO NOT BE MANIPULATED BY THESE BASTARDS!

Fits in perfectly with ABC/Disney……….

I hate the effing Chew. I have watched maybe 2 minutes of it & it is AWFUL. Still cannot believe ABC just yanked AMC & OLTL right out from under us. I will never, ever get over it & will never, ever forgive them. I also hate GH being moved to 1:00 central. Just messes up schedule on my days off. Really, really pisses me off.

Do they think soap fans are stupid? We have told them over & over again that we did not want talk or reality shows in the afternoon. We want our drama our entertainment back. We want OLTL & AMC back on. they don’t hear or are they stupid! I vote for the latter. The Spew is trash in my opinion & 1 segment of a GH star will not make me or other true soap fans watch. I watch nothing but GH on ABC & will not watch til I see my OLTL & Erika Slezak back on where they belong. I am a christian taught not to hate but I am as close as I can get to hating ABC but with the ability to forgive & even then I will Boycott ABC til I see OLTL.

I only watch nothing but GH too……………..

The Chew is pathectic…..They are really grasping at straws…Why should we watch this crap that replaced AMC…..I will not watch it …NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haven’t watched The Chew from day one & that is the way it’s going to stay…..This isn’t going to work for The Chew……Soap fans will never watch this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Including myself(alway’s a soap fan)….That’s the way it will stay for me……………

I enjoyed Julie’s segment but it was a struggle waiting for it because that show is awful. I’m just going to watch the other GH stars segments on Youtube because there’s no way I can sit through four more episodes of The Chew.

I hated AMC but I can’t believe that ABC replaced it with that poor quality talk show.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Brook Lynn and Chase Have Their Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties

On General Hospital, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) both were treated to Bachelorette and Bachelor parties to shake off any of those pre-wedding jitters. At The Savoy, the ladies have a touching and fun time with Brook Lynn.

The bride-to-be gives a speech to thank everyone for coming, while Lois lets everyone know to try the signature cocktail the “Brooklynn Chaser”, which gets everybody eventually and mostly, drunk.

When Tracy (Jane Elliot) questions Lois (Rena Sofer) as to why there is no music for the party, Lois realizes she forgot, and somehow, who does she call to the rescue? Spinelli (Bradford Anderson)! Saving the day, he winds up playing some tunes and later gets on the dance floor to ‘shake it off’ with the gals.

Photo: ABC

Lois makes a speech as the mother of the bride, and shares how proud she is of the woman Brook Lynn has become. Wedding games begin, including one of “hot potato” with a wedding bouquet.

When it’s time for the “Silly Poses” section of the party, Spinelli has now morphed from DJ to staff photographer taking memorable photos of the ladies to remember the evening by.

Photo: ABC

The best part of the event, was when Brook Lynn tries to get her grandmother Tracy out on the dance floor, which, at first, she refuses. After several of the guests bust a move, a tipsy Tracy joins the dance party after Joss mentions that if her grandmother Bobbie was here, she would dance. Tracy says “she agrees” and begins to cut a rug on the floor, much to the delight of the other women.

Photo: ABC

In the final moments, a tipsy Joss and Kristina (Kate Mansi) have a confrontation about Sonny, and Joss lets Kristina in more on Sonny’s behavior, which looks to have clued in Kristina a bit more as to how something is way off about her dad.

Photo: ABC

Across town at the Hatchett Bar, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and the men with the exception of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Jordan (Tanisha Harper), all attend Chase’s Bachelor Party where throwing hatchets into a dart board for supremacy is the order of the day. Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Ned (Wally Kurth) get into some words over ELQ, while Dante makes a toast to his police partner, Chase.

Photo: ABC

Suddenly Dex (Evan Hofer) shows up. Chase thanks Dex for coming, but Dex gets some dirty looks from other cops on the force. Dante gives Chase his present, which is a signed baseball by the Boston Red Sox.

Ned (Wally Kurth) makes a speech that although no one is good enough for his daughter, Brook Lynn, Chase has come closer than anyone has, so welcome to the family. Running in at the end is Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), who just left Brook Lynn’s party, and she toasts her singing partner, Chase, and to the great man that he is.

Cameron Mathison Previews New Game Show ‘Beat The Bridge’ (Promo)

As previously reported, Cameron Mathison (Drew, General Hospital) will be seen doing double duty this summer when he premieres in June as the host of Game Show Network’s Beat The Bridge.

Now, while Cameron will be the host with the most, that doesn’t mean he will stop playing GH’s Drew.  In fact, Mathison taped the game show in 2023, so it will now air for the first time in 2024.

Taking to his Instagram this week, Cameron shared his enthusiasm and some new hosting snaps, sharing, “Our newest game show host reporting for duty😎 Head over to the Game Show Network YouTube channel for your first look at the show and don’t miss Beat The Bridge premiering this June! I can’t wait for you guys to see this!”

Photo: GSN

In Beat The Bridge, an enormous interactive bridge dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. As they play, each steps forward and puts money in their team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. Here’s the catch: the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one of its players back across before time expires.

Meanwhile, on GH, Drew and Nina (Cynthia Watros) recently had hate-sex. Do you think its a one-time deal? Where will Drew’s story take him next under new head writers, Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte? Stay tuned.

Now below, check out the first promo for Beat The Bridge from the Game Show Network with you host, Cameron Mathison.  Then, let us know, will you be checking out the game this summer? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nina Confronts Ava for Sabotaging Her Relationship With Sonny and Signs the Divorce Papers

Looks like Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Ava (Maura West) are back to be each other’s sworn enemy number one. By the end of the Monday, April 22nd episode of General Hospital, the women know where they stand with each other after Nina goes in on Ava accusing her of wanting Sonny (Maurice Benard) all to herself, while her marriage has been on the rocks.

In story, at Nina’s office, Ava shows up to see Nina and says she is sorry about what happened with Sonny and that he reacted the way he did, acknowledging that is was over the top, even for Sonny. Ava says she’ll smooth things over, but Nina says she now understands how manipulative and transparent Ava really is.

Given their horrible history, Nina goes in on Ava and how she should never have trusted her. Nina wants to know how long has Ava had this agenda dating all the way back to telling Nina to turn Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC. Ava says she never told her do to that, but Nina wants to know how long Ava has been playing her for a fool.

Courtesy/ABC

Ava says she moved in with Sonny to keep Avery safe and she wants to be on good terms with Avery’s father, Sonny. Nina thinks she likes being in Sonny’s inner circle. Ava tells Nina if she goes to him about her advising Nina to call the SEC on Carly and Drew, it won’t work.  Sonny still considers Nina a traitor and he will think she’s lying because she’s so desperate to win him back. Ava says if Nina would stop blaming everyone else that maybe Sonny would respect her.  Nina says “like he does you?” Ava says Sonny not only respects her, but he also counts on her.

From there, Ava launches into why she and Sonny understand each other, after all, Sonny is a powerful, turbulent, and sometimes violent man. She goes so far to say if Nina wanted someone to just sit by the fire with and play with their grandchildren, she’s got the wrong guy.  Ava then talks about Mike from Nixon Falls (Sonny with amnesia) and how Sonny hid the darkest parts of himself from Nina back then, whereas with Ava they are the same similar creatures, so he doesn’t have to hide anything.

Courtesy/ABC

Nina wants to know just what Ava wants with Sonny? What is her end game? Ava responds that they understand each other, in ways she can’t with Sonny. Nina tells Ava she can go ahead and have it all and signs Sonny’s divorce papers. Ava walks out with the documents, while Nina in tears at her desk, takes off her wedding rings and has her assistant come in so she can messenger the rings back to Sonny’s address.

The episode and these scenes featured great performances by Cynthia Watros and Maura West. You can check some of the scenes below.

Now, let us know, what is Ava’s next move? Is she going to become Mrs. Sonny Corinthos? Do you like Ava and Nina as enemies? Comment below.
