Daytime Emmy winner Obba Babatunde’, not only plays The Bold and the Beautiful’s Julius Avant with such grativas, but he is now pulling double-duty where those who know the immense talent of this man are getting to see him on stage in a musical production of Five Guys Named Moe!

Obba is no stranger to musicals having created the role of C.C. White in the original company of the Broadway smash, Dreamgirls, and so many other countless roles.

In Five Guys Named Moe, this Tony Award-nominated musical, written by Clarke Peters, is set to music by the legendary Louis Jordan. It tells the story about the heroic Nomax (Babatunde’) – he’s broke, his lovely Lorraine left him and he’s listening to the radio at 4:45 in the morning. Out of the radio, five guys named Moe appear and encourage Nomax to turn his life around. It’s a wonderful performance by Obba in his element.

The musical is directed by Keith Young with musical direction by Abdul Hamid Royal, and plays now through June 11, 2017 at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center, 4718 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, 90016.

On hand on opening night on Saturday were Obba’s B&B castmates including: Reign Edwards (Nicole), Rome Flynn (Zende), Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter), Anthony Turpel (R. J.), as well as General Hospital’s Jackie Zeman (Bobbie) and Y&R’s Kate Linder (Esther), and more.
