OLTL's Melissa Archer in new film with Eric Roberts!

Missing One Life to Live’s Melissa Archer (Natalie) ? Well, the talented and beloved actress has been on the set of an upcoming new movie filming on the Jersey Shore this week! The film is called, West End, and according to ABC Soaps In Depth it is a mob/crime drama with a romantic twist. In it, Melissa plays a love interest of a man who grew up the son of a mobster.
Film star, Eric Roberts who recently guest-starred on The Young and the Restless as Vance stars in the new film, and Neal Bledsoe (Ex-ATWT and GL) plays Archer’s love interest. Melissa revealed why she took on the role stating, “I like the script because it’s not your typical mob story, and yet it’s got a mob feel to it. It’s so much about relationships.”
So now for the big question! Will General Hospital bring Archer to the soap to keep the relationship between John McBain and Natalie alive? Or, is it going to be a McBain/Sam pairing, and somehow Natalie is out of the picture, permanently? Let us know your thoughts!
That’s good news about Melissa Archer doing a movie at the Jersey Shore.. I have been to the Jersey shore plenty of times…But I live in Fl. now……………….I”m dissapointed Natalie is out of the picture and doesn’t look like she will be coming to Port Charles to be with John & their son Liam…………………………..I don’t like anyone else to be with John except for Natalie…They have that connection…And they have been threw a lot with each other..They have history together…………Im not sure I like John teaming up w/Sam……Sheshould stay w/Jason….I am not happy at all about this….Natalie & John belong TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s my feelings on this………….

Susan m, As much as I would like to see Nat and John get together It might not happen. The last thing I want to see happen is having John mcbain never fall in love again, they keep talking on the phone all the time maybe that means something, They could always recast her, I know I hate change to. Then again maybe after this movie is done she could still end up in port charles. And maybe John and sam are brother and sister. Things are heating up on general hospital anything can happen At least we are not bored anymore.
I want Natalie & John together also. Can’t see McBain/Sam as a couple – brother and sister maybe – but NOT a couple!!! I have a feeling that Sam is John’s sister who he thinks Sonny has killed – she is alive and well – thank you GH writers!!!
Anything is possible..But remember when Michael Easton played Calep the vampire and sam was the center of attraction to him….Sam keeps saying have we met before??? You could be right about them being brother & sister…That’s a very good guess………………………………….

Nice to see Melissa still working. Not sure about Natalie on GH since I think she deserves better than Mcbain, but she sure would pep up the boring monotony of the John/Sam scenes.
It seems clear to me that they have been laying the groundwork for her arrival from the beginning. She brings something new to the table at GH, and I’m looking forward to her arrival in (hopefully) six or seven weeks.
Your right Frank, HE is always on the phone with her If they wanted us to forget they wouldn’t bring up her name all the time. Maybe when she is done with this movie we can look forward to seeing her in Port charles.

Nice that she has gotten to do a film role. I do hope that they bring her OLTL character to GH. After all that went down with Natalie & John and John finally being with her and Liam it would be a shame to just trash the relationship. I would have a hard time believing that John would allow a separation to come between he & his son and they would need to have an excellent reason for this to happen.
While I like MA and hope that she continues to find projects that will allow her fans to see her, I hope that she is not brought to GH. For many of us who are not Jason and Sam fans, the new potential pairing of Sam and John has brought much excitement and much needed change to GH. There is greater storyline potential with a new Sam pairing and a new Jason pairing than if they were to continue with Jasam and bring Nat over for John. Both “Jasam” and “Jolie” have had their happy and sad storylines played out on the screen for years now and no further amount of angst or happy will make either of these two couples more interesting (drawi in more viewers), to anyone except perhaps their die hard fans. For the majority of the viewers, it is more about the desire to have fresh storylines and growth for exisiting characters ie forward movement. For me (and I suspect many others as indicated in fan forums,fan boards, blogs etc), a continuation of Jasam and Jolie would be seen as yet another rehash of the same ole same and not signal the true change that fans have been holding out hope for. Fans want GH saved above all and history has shown us that coninuing with the status quoe (which is what Jasam and Jolie represent) has not brougt in the viewers.
If John/Sam are siblings there would be plenty of s/l – all new and exciting! FV and RC would make sure. I think there are more JaSam/Jolie fans than MCSam fans.
That’s a rumor started by a fan base on a very disreputable soap board. Repeating it enough times doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.
There maybe more Jasam/Jolie fans than Mcbam fans (honestly kinda doubt it at this point with so many Jsam fans jumpin ship, coupled with non Jasam / Jolie fans) but even if we go with your premis that still presupposes that there are enough of either to make a dent. Jasam / Jolie fans seem to often insinuate that they have “show-changing” numbers of fans when the truth is die hard fans in either only make up approximately 15% of total viewers. SBu has about 50 thousand twitter followers (same for KM)- sounds like a lot until you realize that this represents less than 2.5 % of the total viewers of the show…
Either way, Jasam,Jolie or Mcbam, it should be about wanting what is best for the show and not just getting to keep your couple at any cost…think about it. 🙂
I would like for them to be brother and sister. There could be a lot of stories with those two. The One life to live fans want john and natalie together and the general hospital fans want Jason and sam together. Me, I am a fan of both soaps and happily ever after is fine with me.
You know I have been seeing this all over the boards I thought John’s sister was dead? And Sonny was responsible I thought John only had a brother someone help me!
As of rgt now they have Jason, McBain, Sam and Liz on the canvas for the quad angst, etc…and if the writers knew for sure that MA, aka Nat, aka John/Nat would most def lower the ratings then I’d think they’d break’em up or whatever off camera by now. So there still is the potential that John and Nat may boost up the ratings, but as of now we don’t know b/c Nat is not on the canvas.
I’m not a all or nothing fav soap couple viewer. I just wanna see a couple w/chemistry on GH, as of now I’m not seeing it. It’s my opinion and I know ppl have their favs… etc. My hubby thinks this is all nuts and I relate it to sports teams, ppl r passionate and expressive about their favs. I just wanna see what happens w/ALL the players and have fun watching. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work.

Well…if anyone remembers Michael Easton played Caleb the vampire on Port Charles his love interest was Olivia (Livvie) played by Kelly Monaco. That is why all the references to having known each other. I think they would be a great pairing. They had great chemistry then and have great chemistry now. If this was still OLTL I would say yes keep Natalie…but it isn’t.

I would LOVE to see MA on GH:) John and Nat’s storyline ended abruptly on OLTL b/c it was suppose to continue on PP. So I’d like to see them continue more as a family. They had a lot of wrenches thrown into their storyline towards the end of OLTL, so wanna see some more memorable stories. If MA can’t come and of course they have to move John along, fine. But I hope it’s a availability issue and not storyline dictated. I think there’s more story for John and Nat.

Every time I think of pp I get really angry, Because of them and abc/disneys fake saving of the soaps we got screwed out of good endings with All my children and one life to live, However, I was very happy to see that victor jr was alive and tied up some where.

Sincerely hoping they keep Natalie as far away from Port Charles as possible. McBain’s character has received a new lease on life without that albatross hanging around his neck. The chemistry between McBain and Sam is off the charts – much stronger and more powerful than ME’s pairing with MA (who had the least chemistry of any actress I’ve ever seen him with). Send Natalie permanently off to England, and let John face the challenges of being a single father just like Mac did earlier on GH.

I agree 100%. I WOULD like to see her for a couple episodes just to break her and John up and tie up the loose ends, but I think John and Sam are a good pairing and Sam needs a man who is accepting, no matter what. John seems to be that man and Jason most certainly is not!

sounds like “Nat” and her cousin “Star” were working on the same script – love interest for the son of a mobster! ha! I’d love for Natalie to come to Port Chuck, cuz then Vicki would have to come visit frequently to see Nat & her grandson! I’m tired of Sam knocking on McBain’s door. Running into him several things is one thing… but bringing him coffee so you can smell it and him giving her a bar a soap for her birthday… just seems like they are trying to hard to put them together. He’s on a timeline to get Sonny, he should ignore the knock at the door and get to work!
So happy for MA! Hope she continues to do more movies but GH is awfully boring right now and John I’m not enjoying without Natalie. Have decided to give up on GH and John for good a week ago. I gave it a chance, can’t do it anymore but if MA could be persuaded to join as Natalie soon I would definitely reconsider staying. Her character was such a lively, beautiful, firecracker. She would bring life to a show that needs it. I luv John with Natalie but I’m losing interest in him, then Johnny, or any other guy. I LUVVED all her pairings! Just get her there!

Almost every other time we see him he’s on the phone with nat, and the baby is being brought up so its not like his family is being neglected, they are in touch, I like that.

I read some kind of crazy rumor that either Melissa or a recast will come. I want Melissa, who wouldn’t love her? I have no idea how long Michael Easton is staying with GH. I hope forever. GH is so exciting right now because really anything can happen. There are rumors about organ stealing. I have no idea and can’t wait for the surprises.
Michael Easton told TVGuide’s Michael Logan back in March that he signed a long term contract with GH. According to MA’s manager (who is also her father) on twitter, he has advised her not to take any more daytime roles. GH has already chosen those from the OLTL cast that they’d like to continue on in Port Charles – those actors have already been notified, and announcements are pending. The casting directors at GH are probably the best in the biz – and they know who will be able to perform to their standards and who won’t. Those that can add something to the show are already in the works.
I miss Natalie so much! It is completely unbelievable that John would be away from Natalie and Liam this long. However, if Natalie showed up pissed off that he’s been away this long and catches him with Sam – that would be interesting TV!! I still maintain Sam is going to end up being John’s sister somehow.

I think John/Sam are boring I think John/Natalie have so much more history and are able to bounce the humor of each other. When I seen John try to joke with sam it just fell flat. John needs to have somebody he can be able to have humor with and that is just not sam. Plus I hate to see him become a deadbeat dad. We went through a long drawn out reunion last year and deserve a chance to see them as a family. I know Natalie would bring in viewers currently not watching to preserve the happy ever after. And Natalie has a large fan base that have never watched GH those would start watching

I am so happy for Melissa Archer on her movie role! She is such a great actress and has one of the most versatile acting styles in the business. But I would love to see her come on to GH. She and John belong together. After all they went through to finally reunite and to have John finally find out that he’s Liam’s father, I think they should continue on as a family. They are so good-looking together, and I’m sorry but ME and MA have so much chemistry, it’s off the charts. I love Kelly Monaco but her character Sam has been boring me to tears the last few years and she still bores me. SO PLEASE BRING ON NATALIE to be with John!

I have been watching soaps for 35 years. Not since Luke and Laura has there been a couple as fantastic as john and natalie. OLTL survived the last 9 years based on their amazing love story. I stopped watching GH when the Mob Took over Port Charles. GH needs to go back to its roots, dump Sonny, return Jason as a Quartermaine and bring on the Buchanans. There is no chemistry between John and Sam. Sam should be his long lost adopted sister. Natalie (Melissa Archer) is John’s soul mate, Just look at the eight years of clips on utube. John Mcbain would never leave Natalie and Liam after what they have been through. GH is destroying the integrity of John McBain if he cheats on Natalie and leaves her. It was sickening wjhen John was with Marty. Jolie fans are not watching GH because it’s just too painful. John and Natalie and Liam deserve a wedding and some happiness. I stayed loyal to OLTL because like Bo Buchanan, John McBain is loyal to his woman and through it all, Natalie (Melissa Archer) is the love of his life. Please bring on Melissa as Natalie and Rex and Gig as well as Victor, Blair and the rest of the Mannings as well as the Buchanans.
Combine them with the Spencers, Scorpios, Quartermaines and Webbers and then you have a show. Dump Sonny and the Zacarras. Even the Sopranos don’t dominate prime time any longer.

I still want her to come to General Hospital and be coupled with John McBain. I don’t see Sam (Kelly Monaco) and John as a couple – they don’t “fit” in my eyes. I see JaSam getting back together and Jason accepting Franco’s baby (if it really is his) as his own. After exciting morning for your favorite daytime stars when they were revealed to be nominees for the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards comes tonight 10th annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Special.
Beginning at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT, several of the nominees will talk with Michael Fairman on their reactions to the news they have been nominated for a Daytime Emmy, share what scenes they submitted that landed in the top five or six in their respective performer acting categories and much more.

51st Annual Daytime Emmy Award Nominations: CBS Soaps Score Most, Eric Braeden, Dick Van Dyke, Guy Pearce Receive Nods
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) have officially announced on Friday, the full list of nominees for the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
While Thursday brought with it four reveals of the nominees in the Outstanding Daytime Drama, Talk Show Host, Lead Actor and Actress categories (as presented by various entertainment news programs), today’s nominations include all the other categories not previously announced.
The Daytime Emmy Awards telecast is set to be presented live on Friday night, June 7, at 8 PM EDT /delayed PT, on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. This will mark the 18th time that CBS has broadcast the Daytime Emmys.

In addition, The Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy Awards will be presented on Saturday, June 8 at t9 PM ET/6 PM PT and streamed on The Emmys apps and at watch.TheEmmys.tv. The ceremonies will take place at the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles.
Television icon, Dick Van Dyke has received his first-ever Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Guest Performer category for his touching portrayal of Timothy Robicheaux on Peacock’s Days of our Lives. The nomination makes Van Dyke the oldest Daytime Emmy nominee in history at 98-years-old. In addition, motion picture and TV star, Guy Pearce, is also nominated as Guest Performer for his longtime role as Mike Young in the reboot of Neighbours.
Speaking of Neighbours, the Australian soap opera also received its first ever Daytime Emmy nomination for Daytime Drama Series now that its a revival can be streamed on Amazon Freevee. In addition, The Young and the Restless iconic, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) received his first Daytime Emmy nomination in more than 20 years in the Lead Actor in a Drama Series category.

In the Daytime Drama series categories, CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless each scored 12 nominations more than any other show. Leading the acting nominations was B&B, who landed 7 performers in the various categories, a first in its 37-year history.
In a statement, Adam Sharp, President & CEO, NATAS expressed, “We are happy to once again honor the creative talent both in front of and behind the camera of America’s favorite Daytime programs. We look forward to celebrating the icons who enliven the days of audiences across the country.”

Brent Stanton, Head of Daytime, NATAS added, “Producing the Daytime Emmys is a labor of love for all of us at NATAS. The huge popularity of these shows continues to be must-see viewing for their fans.” NATAS also revealed that Lifetime Achievement Honorees, Hosts, Presenters, and Silver and Gold Circle honorees will be revealed at a later date.
The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in television programming honoring work in a variety of categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, culinary, and legal/courtroom programs. In 2021, NATAS and the Television Academy jointly announced plans to realign the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards to be organized by content genre, as opposed to program airtime.
The 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be produced once again by NATAS and Associated Television International (ATI). Adam Sharp and Lisa Armstrong are executive producers from NATAS, while David McKenzie executive produces from ATI.

51st Daytime Emmys: Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa Receive Talk Show Host Nominations
On Thursday, nominations were announced in the Outstanding Talk Show category for the upcoming 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo, All My Children) coming off his first-year as co-host of ‘Live” with real-life wife, Kelly Ripa scored his first Talk Show Host nomination along with Ripa who has been nominated previous times.
Joining Mark and Kelly in the race are: Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, The View
Kelly Clarkson, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, Sheryl Underwood, The Talk and

As previously reported, The Talk is coming to its end when its upcoming 15th and final season ends in December of 2024.
The 51st annual Daytime Emmys are slated to be broadcast and stream live on CBS and Paramount+ on Friday night, June 7th
