Perez Hilton Takes On Role Of A Reverend That Officiates B&B's Eric & Quinn's Nuptials!
The cat is finally out of the bag of just what part celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton is taking on when he shows up on CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful beginning late next week!
Following on the heels of Chaz Bono, playing a reverend-turned-burgler on the daytime drama, this time Hilton will don the collar and preside over the controversial nuptials of Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Quinn Fuller (Quinn) as man of the cloth, Reverend Murphy.
It all goes down on the September 23rd and 26th episodes of B&B, but does Hilton actually get the duo to tie-the-knot? Whatever the outcome, Perez chatted with TV Insider where Michael Logan asked if Hilton calling out on social media that he is indeed a big fan of B&B and the soaps, the real truth?
Perez answered: “I love all of the soap operas. I was on All My Children as an extra back in 2000, just after I graduated acting school at NYU. I had no lines and can’t remember the situation, though if Susan Lucci had been in the scene I certainly would have remembered that. But I do remember that another extra that day was Jonathan Bennett, who ended up getting cast as a regular on AMC. Then he did Mean Girls and now he does Cupcake Wars, so both our careers have gone in crazy directions. I’m so excited that I get to go back on a soap, this time with lines, and that I get to play a minister for the second time. My first time was in a movie that came out in 2008 called Another Gay Sequel, where my part was the polar opposite of the one on B&B. For a soap wedding, you’re pretty much playing it straight but in the gay movie I was the campiest, silliest, most over-the-top gay minister ever. So it was nice, with B&B, to connect with a spiritual character in a much more legit way.”
Hilton also discussed how some of his acting parts have stemmed from a trade-off of: “You scratch my back and I will scratch yours.” Perez elaborated: “I got my role on Another Period because Natasha Leggero, who acts on the show, emailed me and said, ‘Would you mind writing something about us?’ And I said, ‘Sure, can you give me a part on your show?” After that happened, I thought, ‘Hey, I’ve got to do more of this!’ So I hit up Amy Schumer. I DM’d her on Twitter and said, ‘Can I be on your show?” And she wrote back, ‘Are you available tomorrow? (Laughs) I spent a day with her on the set and got to play her friend! I didn’t have any lines but still viewed it as a big win.”
As for how the role on B&B came about, Perez said, “That was a case where they called and asked if I was interested. I said, ‘Yes, let’s do it!’ But then weeks passed by and I didn’t hear anything back. I waited…and waited. And then I called them and said, ‘Is the offer still there? I want to do this!’ And that’s how it happened. I really, really wanted to be on B&B. In fact, I had so much fun, now I want to get ordained for real!”
So, interested to watch what happens when Eric and Quinn begin their nuptials presided over by Reverend Murphy AKA Perez Hilton? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
I’m a fan of Eric & Quinn and LOVE the great possibilities and challenges to come with Quinn as Eric’s wife for the long haul. I sure hope to see Eric help Quinn grow into a really great and strong woman to match him!
I am liking them too! I know that is probably not going to be a popular opinion, but hey, I seem full of those lately 🙂
I hope they marry and are very happy together! Show the family they can’t be bullied! Fire all naysayers and be done with it! Show them who’s boss! I’m loving Eric and Quinn’s romance. She really has been blindsided by this whole thing. She didn’t plot any of it. Give her a break and let her be the person she wants to be!
I totally agree. I am sick and tired of the way Eric is being disrespected. If it wasn’t for him and company, everyone of those ungrateful, spoiled, money hungry brats would be jobless. If Liam was so worried about Quinn being a threat, why didn’t he have her locked up when he had the chance? Now he is crying to Wyatt about Steffie’s safety. And Steffie needs to stop hiding out at her brothers apartment and using Quinn as an excuse to string Wyatt along. If I were Wyatt I would walk out and tell her to go back to Liam. This way the 2 little whiny brats can be together. I am personally sick of this whole mess with Wyatt and Seffie. The writers really need to find a new angle. But I do love the coupling of Eric and Quinn. I think that was one of the smartest ideas they had in a while. I also want more scenes with Maya, Rick and the baby. How ironic that in the beginning, Bill was not in the least bit thrilled with Maya, now he is going to be her stepfather-in-law if there is such a thing. Like the saying goes, be careful what you wish for
soapqueenforever…A-M-E-N!!!!!!!!!! To me, Liam, Steffy and Wyatt each remind me of 3 troublemaking brats on the playground who each need to have their bratty butts WHUPPED!!!!! Y-e-p.
Have a good one.
Love Quinns dress!
I ended up here while looking for pix of the wedding. I would love to see the whole dress! And it was funny, there was a pic of her wedding to Deacon in the image search, and they were all standing in front of fireplaces.
Come to think of it, who doesn’t get married in front of a fireplace on B&B? So funny since the weather there is probably still not too cold! 🙂
i love love love love ,,,eric and quinn…the new super couple of the decade,,,sexy cute and down right delicious together…but please writers dont ruin this great story line by having quinn screw up and ridge and steffy are proven right,,,i for 1 cannot stand there self rightous behavior …ill stop watching if thats the route it takes,,lets finally let this bad girl prove every one wrong
It sure beats watching Steffy or Wyatt or Liam marrying someone. At least there might be something new and interesting happening in the story lines. I just hope we don’t have flashback scenes of the nuptials every day for three weeks thereafter.
They are getting so overdone with the flashbacks!! I am just glad they stopped showing scenes from the Aspen wedding and Steffie walking towards Liam in those God awful boots. If I see a clip of that again, along with Brooke and Bill in the hot air balloon, I will have to scream!! I don’t want to say anymore n the subject, so as not to jinx anything. Thwnks fo listening and happy viewing!!
What about Carter? Quinn looks gorgeous. Eric is very handsome.
To me, it’s so funny, that the story is about Perez Hilton’s cameo appearance as the reverend; however, not one comment is about him. This whole “stunt” casting of a supposed “celebrity” is meant to work to get viewers to the show. I don’t see him as a celebrity at all, he’s just like all those other useless so called “celebrities”….doesn’t Brad Bell get it…we watch the shows because we care about the characters and stories, we don’t watch the show to see Chaz Bono, Perez, Bruce Jenner…..stop with the casting stunts….it’s a waste of a real actors valuable airtime and it’s does nothing to propel the story forward….concentrate on Quinn and Eric and celebrate their story….oh, and please get Kimberlin Brown back as Shelia, to try to kill Quinn and get her man back….maybe she could also wipe out Steffy, Liam and Wyatt (so tired of their wash, rinse, repeat storylines) enough already. PLEASE!!!!
Thank you B & B for the best wedding that I have seen in ages !!! Eric and Quinn’s wedding did not need a room full of people. They did not need some exotic location . All they needed was each other. Loved it !!!!! Now, if the writers could just give Wyatt a backbone , I would be elated !! He needs to tell snooty Steffy to go back to fickle Liam and quit using his Mom as an excuse to do so. Wyatt deserves so much better …Ivy !!! As far as Ridge, if not for Eric, he would be drawing pictures at a carnival. Ridge is one step from “pimping out” , the mother of his son. He has become so disgusting, I just fast forward through him. He only wishes he had what his Eric and Quinn have found !!!
