If this story is true, I don’t have much respect for Steve Burton. I thought moving his family to Nashville to experience a new life and do other projects there, despite his love for GH was noble and a brave thing to do. If he joins Y&R, despite his friendship with Jill, the reason he left GH makes no sense now because he’ll be back in LA. Perhaps he’ll be commuting, but if that’s the case, why couldn’t he commute for GH? Something’s rotten in Denmark here!

Everybody was praising Steve for his integrity. If he does move to Y&R, it just proves what a fake he is. All of his personal appearances weren’t just to meet his fans, it was to collect the paycheck. Then he decides to move his whole family to Nashville because of demons that parade around LA. If I was huge fan of Y&R, I’d be mighty upset that Phelps is continuing to hire her peeps. I’ve actually been watching a little bit of YR and fall asleep everytime Avery and Nick are on. Typical Phelps, YR is leaning towards mega dark & depressing. If Steve wants to work with Phelps that bad, then have at it. All I know, is that since Burton has left GH, that show has been able to fully shine the storyline light onto everyone.

Steve Burton has not acted in a long time, he slept through his role on GH for years. Now maybe he could get a role that makes him shine again.

This is not a surprise on any level. SB’s statement about his reasons for leaving GH were transparent to begin with. And we shouldn’t forget that this is the same guy who sold fans on a power drink pyramide scheme not all that long ago, so him lying to the fans is nothing new. But even without that, so often actors aren’t allowed to state the “truth”, whatever it may be, when exiting a show or network if they want to work there some time in the future.

Y&R is rapidly circling the drain, and hiring JFP to repair the damage done by MAB has proven to be a disaster. Her vision for soaps kills them dead most of the time, and if the show manages to survive, the damage she does to the core of the shows she works with can take years to undo.

Casting SB on Y&R should be a red flag to JFP’s bosses that she lets her ego dictate her job, because SB has always been a limited talent, and the catering done to him on GH in the past 10 years has been disastrous to the tiny bit of talent he may at one time have possessed.

He won’t add anything to the train wreck that Y&R currently is, but we can take heart that his mediocre talent can’t do it much more harm either.
