Richard Simmons Returns To General Hospital!

Courtesy/RSimmonsfacebook

Courtesy/RSimmonsfacebook

When we last saw Richard Simmons on General Hospital during the revival of the Nurses Ball this past April, he went loony-tunes all over Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and ended up being carried out by a bevy of beefcake after the gents of Port Charles did their “Magic Milo” act!

Now it look like the fitness guru is having another revival himself, as he just tweeted this morning that he is off to the ABC soap to tape another appearance! Is Richard coming back to torture Lucy Coe’s and her efforts with her new business with Laura (Genie Francis)? Or, is he going to make sure everyone sweat to the oldies and get in aerobics class on the seventh floor at GH?

Simmons tweeted, “Off to do General Hospital this morning…………what fun!”

OK, GH fans, what do you think Richard Simmons is doing in scenes this time on GH? Glad to see him for a return? Weigh-in! Literally! 🙂

ugh

I hope he’ll be nicer this time. And he definitely needs to teach an aerobics class!

Whatever he is back for…i hope itll mean more airtime for Lucy, Laura and some of the other vets. Maybe he’ll be Lucys business rival and cause her and Lauras new business venture a lot of problems.

“…ended up being carried out by a bevy of beefcake”.

OOH LA LA HOT.

Men in daytime are a bevy of many things….

Let’s hope that whatever he does, Richard can add some desperately needed comic relief to GH. Lord knows, the show needs that in the worst way. It would be fun to see him lead an aerobics class again. And hopefully, it will mean more screen time for some of the vets and much less for the screen hogging OLTL trio in their new roles that very few care about. I can dream, can’t I?

Seeing Richard back on the show this past April for the 50th was a nice nod to his roots and a reminder that when he appeared on GH 30+ years ago, the show was in its heyday. It truly was well-written, can’t miss entertainment every single day that made it iconic. Compare that to the pathetic recycled crap we’ve seen regularly lately. It’s sad to see how far GH has fallen. Hopefully, this could be a step back up.

In my mind more camp is the LAST thing GH needs right now… all I see are complaints about that. Really, what is the point of bringing him back on when budget dollars are so tight we almost never see Laura, or Anna, or Duke, or Lucy, or Felicia, or Mac? And yet money is wasted on this.

I hope it’s just for a quick appearance since I can’t stand him or Lucy.

Amen to that!!!! Why there was a need to even keep Lucy Coe is beyond me…Herring is one of the most talentless, hyperkinetic, scenery-chewing hacks that GH has ever cast, and I would greatly welcome her departure.

I love Lucy (and Lynn Herring). Guess it’s different type for different people 🙂

I think Lucy and Laura’s Spa will be a place of stories..
Richard will most likely work there..

The Spa is a step up from Roxy’s beauty salon..
hey, perhaps Roxy will work there also!

No more OLTL actors. We are being eaten by the cancelled show already. I am very happy Lucy is back, and I can’t wait for her and Laura to be on more than once a month. The last time Richard was on he was disgusting. Apparently RC doesn’t know all GH. He has ruined soap many vets, when he isn’t back burning them. Give us anything but the mob,and OL.

Waste of airtime. I want a storyline that i want to follow from beginning to end not this garbage. I will keep tuning in hopefully stories improve.

What story are talking about?
No story was mentioned. What is the story?

Oh Gawd….not that demented troll again!!!! His last appearance was absolutely revolting….how yesteryear’s goofy but kind busybody with a good, decent soul turned into a bitter and twisted freak is anyone’s guess, but we really do not need to be further subjected to this annoying trainwreck of a character….

I get sick to my stomach every time I see him. He’s disgusting !

I hear you!!!! Let’s lock him up in a room with “Brad.” They deserve each other!!!!!! Both are totally disgusting….

Nothing against him; I’ve heard a lot of wonderful things about his humanity…But he was awful on GH this past go-around. Why would they want him back? I don’t want to see this latest incarnation torturing anyone in PC but the viewers if they write or allow the same style acting when he returns. The Nurses’ Ball stint just wasn’t funny to me. If he’s coming back, I hope it’s a better run. Good luck, Richard. Believe it or not, I’m actually pulling for ya.

Spoiler alert: He’s Sam’s father! 😉

that’s funny (hell no)

Let him work with LUCY

NO TO HIM BEING SAM FATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on! Use common sense! He’s been stunt casting for forever on the show! They in no which way or form going to ruin this storyline by making HIM Sam’s father. They may goof up here and there, but theyre not idiots. And we shouldnt be either for thinking they’d go there. lol. He’s clearly coming back to be involved with Lucy/Deception Spa storyline somehow.

His name doesn’t start with a J unless Richard is his middle name. Hmmm!

Bwahahaha! Im dying! #Flatlined

IM SERIOUS HE DONT NEED TO BE SAM MCALL MORGAN FATHER!

Please no. He’s just awful, and so many great actors on the show are not getting airtime.

YEAAAAAAAAAA! I LOVE RICHARD AND LUCY!!!

I agree!!!!!

Gross. His appearance at the Nurses Ball was revolting.

he’s really sam’s father.

OMG NO

Barbara T you are a hoot! bwahahahaha

i think he’s hot for Leslie, now that’s she’s back in PC! te he he

Some of you act like they are going to turn the entire series over to Richard Simmons! I’m pretty sure it will be a one or two episode appearance, like he did for the 50th Anniversary, probably adding up to ten total minutes of screen time, and that’s it-relax people!

As far as the comments about the show being “too campy,” please tell me what you DON’T consider campy-Cesar Faison coming back as Duke? Cassadines coming back from the grave? How are those storylines any LESS campy than some funny scenes with Felix & Sabrina and Britt & Brad?

Just more stunt-casting…can we please dispense with these waste-of-space characters (like Richard, Lucy, Sabrina, Taylor, TJ, and Shawn….) and get back to major players and storylines???? The Silas tale is nicely unfolding, don’t really mind RoHo ‘s “who is he today” act and am looking forward to the continuing Britt family saga, but still waiting for all these to tie together and provide answers to some questions dating back to last year. We need some more vets to come back….please get Frisco and Noah to return ASAP…they are two of the best leading men from GH’s heyday, and what about Robert???? Let’s get some progress happening with his condition, not to mention more about Luke’s upcoming health crisis (with Laura by his side, sorry Scotty!) and of course, what role Jerry Jacks has in all of this!!! ( He is always in the thick of PC misfortunes!) There are just so many great possibilities for interesting plot twists if the ptb will just honor the history of this show and reach back to many of the classic characters and stories of years gone by. Also, would love to see John Stamos pop-up here soon, as well as other beloveds from the past…how about some presumed dead Cassadines????? Oh, one last thing, can we have a lot less of Ava? That woman is annoying beyond belief….totally fake in both appearance and affected voice! Really cannot see how a serious, cerebral guy like Silas could have gone for that bimbo….would love it if Kiki’s real father turns out to be the psycho Steven Clay instead….that would explain a lot of things!!!!!!

Richard Simmons is a nice guy and all, but how about getting John Stamos back for a guest appearance?

I loved seeing Richard back again. I stopped watching GH a long time ago. This was a hot soap in my high school days almost 30 years ago. I was skipping channels and happen to see him in a scene. His being on that day was the only reason I stopped and watch. Bring it on Richard!
