Some things never change in Twin Peaks, apparently! Same population as 25 years ago, same theme music, the iconic Twin Peaks sign, and some evil lurking in the final seconds of this just released promo from Showtime!  The cable network is teasing its 2017 offering of the revival of the quirky ABC soapy series that is currently in production.

Back is Michael Hoarse as Deputy Hawk!  In this teaser, Hoarse relates to the camera: “Location sometimes becomes a character.  There are a lot of holy places up here… sacred places.   It touches something in the psyche. It’s almost like being in a moving painting.”   Next after the Twin Peaks sign is unveiled, there is someone hazy in the video where the music changes to eerie.  Is it Leland Palmer/Killer BOB (Ray Wise) or could it be David Lynch himself?

The official promo states below it on You Tube:  “The critically-acclaimed, ground breaking television phenomenon Twin Peaks returns as a limited series to Showtime in 2017. Currently in production, Twin Peaks is written and produced by series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost and is directed entirely by David Lynch. While the full mystery awaits, fans can expect many familiar faces, including Golden Globe winner and EmmyAward nominee Kyle MacLachlan, who reprises his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential broadcast series of all time, Twin Peaks followed the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town who were stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. The town’s sheriff welcomed the help of FBI agent Dale Cooper, who came to town to investigate the case. As Cooper conducted his search for Laura’s killer, the town’s secrets were gradually exposed. The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues…”

Watch the Twin Peaks promo after the jump! Let us know who you think is in the last shot:  Lynch, Leland? Someone else? Looking forward to the revival? Comment below!

If it’s Lynch, why would his character at the FBI be the guy at the end. It makes no sense. It could only be Leland. Wise was credited as a cast member at the end of the series after leaving after the conclusion of the Laura Palmer story. I am sure that 25 years later as stated in the finale, they would answer what Laura meant by “I will see you in 25 years.”

I think it’s Leland Palmer.

Never saw Twin Peaks when it originally aired. So I’m in the midst of watching the video that I got from the library. Wanted to be prepared for when the revival airs. Weird story, and Ray Wise at his best, strange self.

Oh, you are in for a real treat then, Rose! I remember relishing each and every episode of that outre’ odyssey into the inexplicable….the show was all the rage at school, and we would tape each episode and watch it over and over again in order to make any sort of sense of that inspired insanity. (That never happened….my advice is to just take it all in and enjoy the raucous ride into the ridiculous…forget about figuring it out!) Considering the show’s components of cutting-edge cinematography, colorful characters, stunning scenery, not to mention that haunting, mysterious soundtrack, this series is a veritable feast for the senses….I get nostalgic simply speaking of it!!!! Whatta trip into the abyss it was……

Boy does that music bring back memories! (I too vote Leland Palmer.)

I think it could be Wyndham earl

Mark Consuelos Celebrates One-Year Anniversary as Co-Host of ‘Live’ Alongside Kelly Ripa

Today, April 17th marks a full-year since Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo, All My Children) took over the co-hosting duties of ‘Live” alongside his wife, and longtime co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, All My Children).

Consuelos replaced Ryan Seacrest who are six seasons decided to be back on the west coast full-time. For Consuelos, now having the opportunity to work off of Ripa as co-hosts has been something of adjustment for him, but viewers have been eating it up.

Live with Kelly and Mark has remained the No. 1 entertainment talk show on television over the past year, growing 3% in average total viewers to 2.23M per episode.  It is also the most-watched daytime talk show in the last year in key demos of women 18-49 and women 25-54. All of this, since the real-life marrieds teamed-up.

Speaking with Deadline, Kelly Ripa shared why the two are gelling on-screen, “I do think that there is something very possibly relatable about our relationship. We have disagreements like a normal couple, and we’re not afraid to let them unfold on the air and in front of America, and I think people find a lot of themselves in that.”

Mark weighed in how he has progressed as a host, and what he could improve at, sharing, “I’d like to get better at my interviewing skills. I’d like to get better at reading a teleprompter…I think I’m getting better at throwing to commercial. The other day in the middle of the show as we go to commercial, my sign off was ‘See you guys around.’ I mean, the show wasn’t over. The most obvious thing to say would be, ‘We’ll be back right after this.’ But I just said, ‘See you around.’ So we went to commercial and one of the producers (goes) ‘What was that?’ I don’t know… So for the next few sign offs, as a joke, I’d say ‘See you around.’ We got a kick out of it.”

Meanwhile, Kelly has given huge props to Mark, “I find Mark utterly compelling, really interesting, super funny, and he’s bold in a way like nobody else. He says what’s on his mind. If he’s thinking it, he says it.  I’ve done this a long time and oftentimes people will adjust their natural personalities to pander to what they think the audience wants to hear, and Mark will tell people what he thinks, and he doesn’t care if it’s not a popular opinion. It gives him an edginess that I think is really missing in the landscape today. Everybody’s so afraid to say anything, and Mark is unafraid to say exactly what he’s thinking.”

In a statement, Debra O’Connell, President News Group and Networks, Disney Entertainment shared, We could not be more thrilled with how Mark has seamlessly joined the show family as permanent co-host. His undeniable charisma and his and Kelly’s natural chemistry are evident as they deliver the laughs and smiles to our viewers each morning. We are incredibly proud of how Live has continued to evolve and that the audience is responding so enthusiastically.”

So, do you think Mark Consuelos is the best co-host his wife Kelly Ripa has ever had on ‘Live’? How would you say he is doing as co-host after one full year on the job? Comment below.
