THE CHEW’s Mario Batali Exits The Daytime Series After Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Trouble for The Chew; the daytime foodie cooking show that replaced the beloved All My Children back in 2011.
You can now add one of its host, Mario Batali, to the list of “celebrity” men who have been accused of sexual misconduct.
The report on Batali broke on Monday via the NY Eater. In it, it accounts that four women say the chef touched them inappropriately in a pattern of behavior that allegedly spanned over two decades. In response, ABC asked Batali to step away from the daytime cooking show while they review the allegations that recently came to their attention,. Batali is also stepping away from his restaurant businesses, where according to the piece, had its first complaint of inappropriate behavior against Batali in October. At that time, Mario was reprimanded and sent to go through training.
In a statement, Batali did not deny all of the allegations saying they did “match up” with ways he has behaved: “I apologize to the people I have mistreated and hurt. Although the identities of most of the individuals mentioned in these stories have not been revealed to me, much of the behavior described does, in fact, match up with ways I have acted. That behavior was wrong and there are no excuses. I take full responsibility and am deeply sorry for any pain, humiliation or discomfort I have caused to my peers, employees, customers, friends and family. I have work to do to try to regain the trust of those I have hurt and disappointed. For this reason, I am going to step away from day-to-day operations of my businesses. We built these restaurants so that our guests could have fun and indulge, but I took that too far in my own behavior. I won’t make that mistake again. I want any place I am associated with to feel comfortable and safe for the people who work or dine there. I know my actions have disappointed many people. The successes I have enjoyed are owned by everyone on my team. The failures are mine alone. To the people who have been at my side during this time — my family, my partners, my employees, my friends, my fans — I am grateful for your support and hopeful that I can regain your respect and trust. I will spend the next period of time trying to do that.”

No matter what he has been accused of, he nor his co stars to amc away. I was furious it was taken of the air as well, but the blame is on the ptb on abc.
I resented his arrogant attitude when AMC was taken off the air.
I blame ABC of course, but Batali was gloating when it happened.
Dr Ruth, I feel the same way. I recall this man said something sarcastic and insulting about the soap his show was replacing.
There were a lot of heartbroken AMC/OLTL fans and he basically said that it was no great loss that they were going the way of the dinosaur. It was insensitive to say the least.
I admit I was biased against The Chew for the above mentioned reason but finally I have to a chance. But then I finally tried to watch it, and all of the hosts were annoying to me. Moreover, I found the recipes to be trite, like something you’d find in an old episode of Good Housekeeping or something.
All My Children went off the air because it was no longer watched by enough people, and it was costing too much money. This topic is too serious for such nonsense.
Sense of humor much? Apparently none at all.
This man was thrilled about soap fans losing their favorite soap (AMC). He thought it was time for something special, such as his silly cooking show, to replace our tired old soap.

I am tired of 20 year old complaints. I think there is a huge difference between too flirty and harassment and / or assault. If he promised employees promotions or did not give them opportunities unless they gave him sexual favors , yes he should step away, if he forced himself on someone he should be arrested and prosecuted. If he said something about how great they looked then that is a discussion about what to say or not in the work place, not leave the job.
A girl at my daughter’s work reported a guy because he said Hi, she said he was a predator because she did not know him and took the liberty to speak to her. This stuff is getting out of control.
I agree with you , It started with a man in Hollywood that sexually attacked actors & actresses, then each day another one had a complaint about someone but few reported it or called the police now it’s every day someone is reporting sexual harassment either at the work place or train/plane/bus/taxi. It’s just sickening to listen to them. I believe a lot of them that report it right away or go to the police but these numb-scull’s that come out of the wood work about something that happened years ago but they never did anything about it, my answer is “it’s made up , go away. I agree. It seems as though every women is a victim, and every man is a predator, nowadays. I think these 20, 30 year old accusations take away from those women that have been brutally, viciously attacked, and do not have a platform to stand on. We had our annual holiday party at work last week and a co-worker e-mailed me and told me how nice the evening was, and he also said, “BTW, you looked very nice last night.” I took that statement for what it was, a compliment, nothing more, nothing less. You can’t turn on the news anymore without hearing about another sexual harassment complaint, followed by 5-10 other women who have come forward. It seems as though today you are proven guilty before innocent. It’s just a sad world that we live in, no matter which way that you look at it-are there that many men sexually harassing women out there, or has this really gone too far? Again, all of these accusations take away from the legitimate cases of sexual harassment/assault.
You are right, these women who are looking to get in the news are hurting real victims. Also, women have made strides in the workplace, the trouble makers are hurting women who deserve major roles in business!
I am tired of idiots spouting off without bothering to take the time to figure out exactly what they are spouting off about. These are not 20 year-old complaints-he had been reprimanded at his company as recently as a couple of months ago. “this stuff” has always been out of control-only difference is people with half a brain are now listening and taking appropriate action. The daughter’s work story sounds contrived-just sayin’.

It should never end @ Tired. It should go on as long as these filthy minded men end their depraved and perverted behavior persists . If these women too k their time to come out now, I think that they were afraid. As women, we have all been subjected to such behavior by men.
Years ago, in my youth, it was not a big deal when men acted this way. It was one of those thing, especially because no one did anything about it. It was ‘accepted’ . Women kept it to themselves.
Suggestive conversation is an assault. It need not be physical.
However I will grant you that a simple salutation is a sign of respect not of lewd behavior. But, from what Batali responded, it seems to me he is guilty as charged.

I, for one, am NOT TIRED of 20-year-old complaints. I don’t care how long it takes someone to come forward. Perpetrators, whether they be a chef, actor, movie producer, senatorial candidate, or sitting president, should be held accountable.
No one should be subjected to sexual aggression/assault/intimidation, misogyny, bullying, homophobia, racism, etc. The world would be a better place if empathy were in overabundance…

I can tell you stories which will make your stomach turn.
I would hear such hair raising stories from friends that sounded fabricated. But they did indeed happen. We can’t always blame modern technology or what programs on TV we are exposed to.
This behavior has been going on since the beginning of time.
I do think that both men and women are not as afraid exposing their experience and the culprit.
It makes no difference who the pervert is. Look at the Catholic Church and other institutions, Jamesj. These institution ( I am a fervent Catholic and was appalled and embarrassed) coddled and protected the offenders over and over.

I agree. The complaints are 20ys old. And he did what he had to do afterwards. And when The Chew replaced AMC I was upset, and refused to give the show a chance. But over the years I have enjoyed the show. So this Karma BS is just BS.

Things are a bit insane, women are finally speaking up and I hope common sense and the ability to engage in critical thinking makes a come back in our society. We need to believe the women who step forward but at the some time, due process and not declaring someone guilty in the Court of Twitter should be the rule, not the exception.

I have kept my word about never watching The Chew since it replaced AMC and OLTL. I hate the show, the hosts, and hate that I usually flip over to watch GH and still see the last minute of the show. I suppose it is ridiculous, but I did invest 40 years in those 2 cancelled shows. Batali is gross and disgusting.

Quite frankly, I always found this reptilian creature to be oily, off-putting and highly-unappetizing….I could not imagine wanting to dine upon anything he prepared! Plus, how could anyone take seriously or trust a grown man who walks around in shorts and orange crocs???
I’m glad he has taken blame for his actions instead of denying the as our politicians have by victim shaming and blaming. I hope they find a good replacement for him on The Chew – I miss Daphne Oz and now another original cast member is gone. I hope they don’t cancel the show. I really enjoy it.
@Daisy Day….I agree about Daphne Oz! She was such an adorable addition to the show, so fun and fresh….really the only one that I even liked in the line-up! But I certainly respect and understand her decision to leave “The Chew” to focus her efforts as mother to her ever-expanding family….her newest daughter is a truly beautiful bundle of joy!

It is a shame it had come to this. What is the solution? Both men and women are sexually harassed or the perpetrators just help themselves to what is not freely given. I t makes no difference if a person says no!! All because of the scum ( pardon the word) that is out there.

The women who for me have the most credence to their assertions are those who are actually in the position to lose—not gain—something, yet still have the courage to step forward anyway…like many of the Weinstein and Clinton victims who suffered far more than just a momentary tasteless incident of “Roman hands and Russian fingers” from those longtime predators! As for Samantha Fox, she had ample time to tell her tawdry tale long before now…she’s been in the public eye for decades since she was a teenaged topless Page 3 girl in the UK….to disseminate this story so soon after Cassidy’s already quite tragic passing and sad last decade just seems exploitative and opportunistic, not to mention, extremely unfair when the man cannot respond to her accusations, whether accurate or not!

I’m wondering Batala took responsibility for his actions because he might be hoping that he can recover this scandal in time and people will forget about this and move onto something esle.So Batala might have known if he fought these allegations it would stay in the public eye.

I have never had a ‘groping’ situation, personally, ( came pretty close)….but, I have been the recipient of lewd remarks; some subtle, some very, in-your-face audacious ……it is the most humiliating and demorilizing feeling —any girl, woman, boy, or man who’s been in this situation can confirm that.

@CeeCee….Whilst I think we all have our little battle stories with overly-frisky and/or verbally-demonstrative dudes, I can honestly say that I’ve never suffered any major incidents in my educational or business life that I would term all-out sexual harassment, and I have to be honest, I think it’s because of my attitude and the way I carry myself….I’ve always been very much the “butter won’t melt type,” comported myself like a total lady and dressed very professionally, albeit fashionably, with great modesty! (Think Sam’s stunningly simple black turtleneck and pencil skirt ensemble she wore today….it was beautiful and alluring, yet despite being well-fitting, left practically everything to the imagination!) Hence I do believe it is incumbent upon any woman to convey that she has the decorum and self-esteem not to serve up her physical assets exposed upon on a silver platter for all and sundry to view…in my mind, that is an open call for untoward advances, ergo one cannot complain when a red-blooded male acts accordingly! I’m not saying my method provides a foolproof formula against the worst of the predatory creepers….nothing will dissuade their boorish attempts if they are indeed prone to such ungentlemanly conduct, but signaling that the candy store is not open for business certainly sends the right message to the majority of men who are actually looking for any sign to the contrary! (In closing, I defer to the most timely words of U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur in her suggestion that a dress code be implemented for those in her own particular workplace: “I saw a member yesterday with her cleavage so deep it was down to the floor,” Kaptur said during a closed-door Democratic women’s caucus meeting, as quoted by Politico. “And what I’ve seen … it’s really an invitation.”) Yeah, I know you know exactly what I’m thinking right now, CeeCeeGirl…Lol. Unlike your experiences, I’ve found the senior males I’ve encountered to be the most well-behaved…they always treated me with the utmost dignity and old-fashioned respect…very fatherly and protective! Then again, my “older men” from my schooldays and early career years were primarily those from the “Greatest Generation” and yours would no doubt be “Baby Boomers,” and I do believe that distinction makes a huge difference!
If he was innocent and not guilt of additional allegations, he would never have been fired or asked to leave the show. Most of these being accused know it is true.
The one that pisses me off is the LIES that NBC told the morning Matt Lauer was fired. I have read for years all of the stories a;d “rumors” about him, yet NBC knew nothing until the night before. You do not fire your biggest star from a show that makes you hundreds of millions unless you have a lot of ammunition.

Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg: Accused by 19 women of sexual harassment and inappropriate touching. The “Supergirl” and “Arrow” showrunner has been suspended by Warner Bros. Television Group. He told Variety he has made comments on women’s appearances and clothes “but they were not sexualized.”
Pixar and Disney Animation chief John Lasseter: Accused by several women of unwanted touching and has announced he is taking a six-month leave of absence. He has acknowledged some “missteps” with employees and apologized for any behavior that made workers uncomfortable.
Actor Jeremy Piven: Accused by three women of sexual misconduct. He denies all allegations.
Filmmaker Brett Ratner: Accused by at least six women of sexual harassment. Playboy shelved projects with Ratner and Ratner stepped away from Warner Bros. related activities. He denies the allegations.
Comedy festival organizer Gilbert Rozon: Accused by at least nine women of sexually harassing or sexually assaulting them. Rozon stepped down as president of Montreal’s renowned “Just for Laughs” festival and apologized “to all those I have offended during my life.”
Producer Chris Savino: Accused of harassing up to 12 women. Fired from Nickelodeon. He has apologized for his behavior.
Actor Steven Seagal: Accused by two women of rape. He denies the allegations.
Def Jam Records mogul Russell Simmons: Accused by model Keri Claussen Khalighi of coercing her to perform a sex act and later penetrating her without her consent in his New York apartment in 1991. Simmons has disputed her account, saying the relationship was consensual.
Actor Tom Sizemore: Accused of groping an 11-year-old actress in 2003. Utah prosecutors declined to file charges, citing witness and evidence problems. He denies the allegation.
Actor Kevin Spacey: Accused by at least 24 men of sexual misconduct or assault. London police reportedly investigating two sexual assaults. Fired from “House of Cards” and replaced in Ridley Scott’s completed film “All the Money in the World.” Massachusetts prosecutors are investigating one allegation. His former publicist has said he is seeking unspecified treatment.
Actor Jeffrey Tambor: Two women — an actress on his show “Transparent” and his assistant — allege sexual misconduct. He denies the allegation, saying in a statement that he has “never been a predator — ever.” Tambor said this week he doesn’t see how he can return to the Amazon series.
Actor George Takei: One man alleges sexual assault. He denies the allegation.
Writer-director James Toback: Accused by hundreds of women of sexual harassment. Beverly Hills police investigating complaints. He has denied the allegations to the Los Angeles Times.
“Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner: Accused by one woman of sexual harassment. He denies the allegation.
Producer Harvey Weinstein: Accused by dozens of women of sexual harassment or sexual assaults, including rape. Fired by The Weinstein Co. and expelled from various professional guilds. Under investigation by police departments in New York, London, Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. Weinstein denies all allegations of non-consensual sex, but he has apologized for causing “a lot of pain” with “the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past.”
Actor Ed Westwick: Accused by two women of sexual assault. The BBC pulled an Agatha Christie adaptation from its television schedule and halted production on a second sitcom starring the former “Gossip Girl’ actor. Los Angeles police are investigating. He denies the allegations.

Billboard magazine executive Stephen Blackwell: Accused of sexual harassment by one woman. He has resigned from the magazine.
Penguin Random House art director Giuseppe Castellano: Accused by one woman of sexual harassment. Penguin Random House is investigating. Castellano has not commented.
New Republic publisher Hamilton Fish: Multiple sexual harassment allegations. He has resigned from the magazine.
Journalist Mark Halperin: Accused of harassing about 12 women while at ABC News. Book contract terminated. Fired from job at NBC News. He has denied some of the allegations.
Artforum publisher Knight Landesman: Accused by multiple women of sexual harassment and sued by one woman. He has resigned from the magazine.
NPR news chief Michael Oreskes: Accused of inappropriate behavior or sexual harassment by at least four women while at The New York Times, NPR and The Associated Press. He has been ousted from NPR.
Amazon executive Roy Price: Accused by one woman of sexual harassment. He resigned from Amazon.
PBS and CBS host Charlie Rose: Accused by several women of unwanted sexual advances, groping and grabbing women, walking naked in front of them or making lewd phone calls. He has apologized for his behavior, but has questioned the accuracy of some of the accounts.
New York Times White House reporter Glenn Thrush: Accused of making drunken, unwanted advances on women. He disputes some of the accusations but has said he had had a drinking problem and apologized for “any situation where I behaved inappropriately.”
Webster Public Relations CEO Kirt Webster: Accused of sexual assault by one woman. Firm renamed and Webster is “taking time away.”
Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner: Accused by one man of sexual harassment. He says he did not intend to make the accuser uncomfortable.
New Republic editor Leon Wieseltier: Accused of sexually harassing numerous women. Removed from the masthead of The Atlantic magazine. He has apologized for his behavior.
NBC News booker Matt Zimmerman: Accused of inappropriate conduct by multiple women at the network. He was fired from NBC.
NBC “Today” show anchor Matt Lauer: Accused of inappropriate sexual behavior. He was fired and was not immediately available for comment.
Garrison Keillor, former host of “A Prairie Home Companion”: Says he has been fired by Minnesota Public Radio over allegations of what the network called improper behavior.
Politics;
Florida Democratic Party Chairman Stephen Bittel: Accused of sexually inappropriate comments and behavior toward a number of women, Bittel resigned. Meanwhile, Democratic state Sen. Jeff Clemens resigned after a report that he had an extramarital affair with a lobbyist, and Republican state Sen. Jack Latvala is being investigated by the Senate over allegations of harassment and groping. Latvala has denied the allegations.
Former President George H.W. Bush: Accused of patting seven women below the waist while posing for photos with them in recent years, well after he left office. The 93-year-old Republican has issued repeated apologies through a spokesman “to anyone he has offended,” with the spokesman noting that the former president uses a wheelchair and that his arm sinks below people’s waists when they take photos with him.
U.S. Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.): Accused of sexual harassment toward staffers in his office, and has settled one claim of harassment. He has denied the allegations, even the one he settled.
Two Minnesota state lawmakers: Democratic Sen. Dan Schoen and Republican Rep. Tony Cornish — said they would resign after they were accused of misdeeds that ranged from groping colleagues to persistent unwanted sexual advances and sexting.
British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon: Accused of inappropriate advances on two women, the Conservative resigned. Sexual harassment and assault allegations have also emerged against a number of other U.K. political figures. Labour Party legislator Carl Sargeant is believed to have taken his own life after harassment allegations cost him his post as the Welsh government’s Cabinet secretary for communities and children. He had asked for an independent inquiry to clear his name. Also, Labour Party member Ivan Lewis has been suspended over an allegation of sexual misconduct; Lewis disputed the account but apologized if his behavior had been “unwelcome or inappropriate.”
U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.): Accused of forcibly kissing Los Angeles radio anchor Leeann Tweeden while rehearsing for a 2006 USO tour; Franken also was photographed with his hands over her breasts as she slept. He also has been accused by three other women of touched their buttocks. Franken has apologized, though hasn’t admitted to groping or other inappropriate touching. He has acknowledged that some women felt that he had done something offensive during their encounters. He faces a Senate ethics investigation for improper conduct.
Kentucky House Speaker Jeff Hoover: Stepped down as speaker this month after news surfaced that the Republican had settled a sexual harassment claim from a GOP caucus staffer. Hoover denied the harassment allegation but said he sent consensual yet inappropriate text messages. He remains in the Legislature.
U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore (R.-Ala.): Accused of sexually assaulting two women decades ago when they were teenagers; about a half-dozen other women have accused Moore of inappropriate conduct. The former state Supreme Court chief justice denies the allegations. He has rebuffed pressure from national Republican leaders to step aside; the state GOP is standing by him.
Johnny Anderson, a staffer for Democratic Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards:The deputy chief of staff for programs and planning resigned to avoid becoming a “distraction” to the governor. Accused of sexual harassment, he denies any wrongdoing.
Sports;
Former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb: Is mentioned in a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment at the NFL Network. According to the complaint, via the bloomberg report, McNabb texted a former NFL Network stylist explicit comments.
International Olympic Committee member Alex Gilady: Accused by two women of rape and by two others of inappropriate conduct. Gilady denied the rape accusations, said he didn’t recall one of the other allegations, but acknowledged a claim he’d propositioned a woman during a job interview 25 years ago was “mainly correct.” He stepped down as president of an Israeli broadcasting company he founded. The IOC has said it is looking into the allegations.
Former South African soccer association president Danny Jordaan: Accused by former member of parliament Jennifer Ferguson of raping her in 1993. Jordaan denies the accusation.

Rep. Dan Johnson, a Republican, reportedly shot and killed himself on a bridge in Mt. Washington, Ky.
Johnson denied the allegations on Tuesday, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. He said the accuser was a member of his church, and that the claims were, in part, politically motivated.

It’s about time…and it doesn’t matter how long the time…20 minutes or 20 years…that women (and men) come forward. The problem as to why some don’t tell their experiences sooner is somewhat exemplified here with the few who doubt the accusers; who seem to be placing blame on them and defending the accused. And while some might argue that it’s her/his word vs the accused then why attack the alleged victim? And isn’t it obvious that if a number of women are accusing the same person (in some instances, say…Trump or Bill Cosby) that there’s probably truth in their claims?
We saw it right here on this soap site. The legions of Michael Muhney fans defending him and ripping apart the actress who accused him. Why? Because he is one of their favorite soap stars? Is THAT a reason to believe him? Because he’s good-looking, charming, you like the role he played on your soap, he gave good Twitter? How many women viewers bashed the actress for “daring” to accuse their precious actor? And then some wonder why women don’t come forth sooner…
Same when Bill Cosby was accused. Some played the race card. Some said that people were trying to bring this black icon down after all these years, somehow conveniently ignoring that some of his accusers were also black.
I think quite a few women, myself included, can remember a time where they were “come on to” by those they didn’t encourage or give mixed messages to. I once worked on off Broadway for a short time (years ago, as an usher…great way to see free theatre!) and it was fun. Until the producer attempted something with me while we were talking in his office. (I was telling him I was leaving as I was embarking on a publishing gig the next day.) I won’t go into details; suffice to say it was awkward and inappropriate. But I extricated myself away with humor and we left on pleasant terms (though inwardly I was rattled.)
Why didn’t I say anything or make a bigger deal of it? Because I was just starting out in a creative realm in New York and though I was in publishing and he in theatre…the creative world is a microcosm. I didn’t want to “burn any bridges” so early in my career. To be honest? He was a nice man up to that point and I enjoyed my time there. But then he crossed the line and it was so uncomfortable, so out of the blue.. A long time ago and I haven’t thought about it in years until this all started coming out in the news.
A lot of the women that are speaking out now are older…AFTER they’ve established themselves and therein lies the problem. Whether it be in Hollywood or just a corporate job, if you’re just starting in your profession it did or at least you feared, that it could jeopardize your career.
Rape? That’s a different story. But it seems from many stories we’ve read and some psychological testimony we’ve heard over the years that victims get shamed, they’re made to look like sluts who lured the man into their trap by…gasp!…wearing spike heels or a certain lipstick or a short skirt. Really? So a human being attacks someone against their will because they’re attracted to them? Because they think the person looks hot? That antiquated patriarchal excuse should have died before it was born.
So why now? Because there’s strength in numbers. And with the magnitude of people coming out with their experiences of course it emboldens. And there’s less chance of the victim becoming the victim if there are others backing up their claims.
Of course there might be some copycats…some people with false claims. But most of the accused have admitted their behavior…with the exception of Trump and Moore. Will they ever? No. But those women persisting in getting out the truth? Kudos!!! May the truth win.
Oh, yeah…Bill Cosby. He’d been carrying on way too long and got away with it.

Or in any other positions of power, Judith! Ever think maybe that’s the insidious method to this “#MeToo” madness???? It’s fine to bring down actual predators whose antics can be documented and corroborated in a manner that satisfies legal standards, but what of those who are not guilty of what they are being accused via scurrilous “she said” memes—some of which are obviously being bought and paid for??? It’s undeniable that certain individuals have been and are still being targeted simply because some people don’t want them to be able to achieve in individual endeavors or continue in their current capacities and the more we see such dubious claims being bandied about, the less seriously even the more legitimate situations are eventually going to be received. Personally, I think all of these cases need to be equally and fairly examined, but not just from the standpoint of what actually did or did not transpire, but the too-often highly-questionable “evidence,” motivations and machinations behind the females who may just possibly be crying wolf for a variety of unscrupulous reasons.

51st Daytime Emmys: Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa Receive Talk Show Host Nominations
On Thursday, nominations were announced in the Outstanding Talk Show category for the upcoming 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo, All My Children) coming off his first-year as co-host of ‘Live” with real-life wife, Kelly Ripa scored his first Talk Show Host nomination along with Ripa who has been nominated previous times.
Joining Mark and Kelly in the race are: Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, The View

As previously reported, The Talk is coming to its end when its upcoming 15th and final season ends in December of 2024.

51st Daytime Emmys: Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Nominations
On Thursday, the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards revealed nominations in several key categories via four entertainment news programs: Access Hollywood, E! News, Extra and Access Hollywood.
Three of the four announcements were major categories in the field of Daytime Dramas.
The nominees in the Outstanding Daytime Drama Series category are: The Bay, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, Neighbours and The Young and the Restless.

General Hospital won this category last year, and has the most all-time wins for a series in this category. For the first time, the beloved Australian-based soap opera, Neighbours is now eligible for competition due to its reboot which streams on Amazon Freevee.

The 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be handed out in ceremonies in Los Angeles and broadcast live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ on Friday night, June 7th.

The nominations were revealed for the 51st annual Daytime Emmys. in the prestigious Lead Actress in a Drama Series category by Entertainment Tonight.
This comes ahead of tomorrow’s full list that is set to be unveiled at 12noon/9am PST on Friday.
In the running for this year’s Outstanding Lead Actress are Tamara Braun (Ava, Days of our Lives), Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke, The Bold and the Beautiful), Annika Noelle (Hope, The Bold and the Beautiful), Finola Hughes (Anna, General Hospital), Cynthia Watros (Nina, General Hospital) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, The Young and the Restless).
