THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS Baby Drama: Sharon Has Nightmare Of Being Pregnant, While Sage Overhears Nick Talking To Shawn!

The Young and the Restless ended Wednesday on major baby drama cliffhangers. The show is being preempted for The March Madness College Basketball Tournament today and Friday.  So viewers will have to wait till next Monday for the pick-up.

Here’s what went down at the end of the episode:  After Dylan (Steve Burton) and Sharon (Sharon Case) make love, while asleep Sharon begins to hear a baby cry, and in turn sees herself pregnant, and thus begins her nightmare.

She then envisions the moment of handing Sully to Dylan.  Next, Sharon wakes up out of breath following her nightmare, and rushes to get to Sully.  However, Dylan realizes the baby wasn’t crying at all.  Is Sharon starting to recall and then piece together what happened to her at Fairview while under the care of the vindicative and cruel Dr. Anderson?

Courtesy/CBS

Meanwhile on the patio at Crimson Lights, Nick (Joshua Morrow) is meeting with Shawn (Devon Martinez).  Nick wanst to reassure Shawn he would treat her baby like his own, if she decided to give her baby up to him and Sage.   Shawn asks Nick if he would be mad if she changed her mind about the adoption, to which Nick replied: “No, Shawn,  I wouldn’t be mad if you decided to keep the baby.  In fact, I wouldn’t be upset if you went with another family.  You do need to decide, and you need to make absolutely sure it’s right for you, because you don’t want any regrets looking back.”

When Shawn worries what her decision might do to Sage if she back out, Nick goes on to say, “This isn’t about Sage.  This is about you. It’s your life and your baby, and if you want to keep him you have every right to do so.”  But just as Nick said those last words to Shawn in walks Sage and overhears the conversation.  Nick and Shawn do not see her yet and the episode comes to its conclusion.

So, will Y&R propel the baby switch story into full gear?  Will Sharon finally realize she was never pregnant in the first place?  Will Sage become more obsessed to get Shawn’s baby? Will Nick’s words to Shawn end his relationship with Sage? What do you think will happen next as the twisted tale of babies continues to play out in Genoa City? Share your theories in the comment section below!

This story line has been DOA since it started and has been done better by other shows.

Chuck “The Hack” Pratt and his plagiarizing poison pen need to leave “Y & R” soon!!

Just unwatchable to the Nth degree!!

Agree. This is a tired story and because Sharon went through this upset with Ashley not so many years ago, it is beyond stupid to put her through it again. And for God;s sake, there are middleaged men and women!!!

Finish this plot. Have everyone take a timeout and send Sharon away. When she returns, give us a confident and capable Sharon. As much as I love Kelly Sullivan, I do not see a need for Sage. The character was a bridge to help with the change in Adam actors. Adam seems not to have any upset regarding his wholesale face/body change.

The show needs some genuine humor and romance, too.

I totally agree with you.

Bart, I so agree with you…I have quit watching Y&R basically since Kay Alden left as the head writer. I know I sound like a broken record but the show is not the same and hasn’t been for a long time. It doesn’t even feel the same. It’s so sad that the once classic soap that Bill and Lee Phillip created has disappeared a long time ago. I also know I have mentioned a few times about the classic background music, oh how I miss it along with the once great show Y&R use to be. I know they say that Y&R is number one, that doesn’t mean it’s good. Oh well, one can only hope and dream that it would return to the way it use to be in it’s glory days, but at this point I think it’s only a dream and it will never be reality.

I am in agreement 100%!

I remember when Kay Alden was head writer, I also remember people screaming for her to get fired because SL’s went on for what seemed like years before they were resolved.
Kay Alden left many decades ago and you’re still upset, don’t hardly watch, but can critique. Interesting.
I personally like most of what Pratt is doing but you can’t please everyone.
The baby story with sharon, has to end SOON, the kid will be in high school at the rate they’re going. lol
Ratings are up and people enjoy his writing as far as I can tell with a few exceptions.

Many many viewers are enjoying Pratt’s writing. What has he plagiarized? That’s a pretty serious statement.

Really?? I think the tanking ratings/demographics are proof positive that many viewers AREN’T enjoying plot-driven, convoluted so-called “stories”.

Tanking ratings? Still #1 and outranking every other show by at least 100%. You must be referring to GH and DOOL a when referring to tanking ratings.

I agree, Y&R is still #1 and if the writing was so horrible, it wouldn’t have the #’s it does.
I don’t really know what some people expect.

Agree 100%. The sooner this ends, the better. Pratt can’t write, maybe the higher ups are finally starting to realize what we’ve known all along.

I Agree 100% with Bart. The writers should never have gone in this direction with Chtistian. I have said this before – – they lack creativity. The show lacks minority diversity. I am done

I am still enjoying Y&R very much and have come to love Sage.
But I detest this baby switch storyline which should have ended yesterday. To make matters worse, they inject an adoption storyline into the scene. That whiny teenaged mother who is living with Sage and Nicholas gets on my nerves and she was not needed as the situation was already replete with emotional complexity.
Please give Sage back her baby before he graduates from college and before this idiotic adoption storyline goes any further. Just end it!!

Minority diversity? It’s a soap, not a political statement. Do people complain that the Latina soaps don’t have any diversity?

GOOD BYE!

I don’t think Sharon will realize she’s not pregnant.

Yes, Sage is going to be mad, but she also needs to realize that if Shawn changes her mind, better now than later.

Just another way for everyone in town to view Sharon as crazy. She might even end up back at Fairview. Sage has some nerve getting mad at Nick. He’s just trying to be realistic.

I hope Sharon ends up with Nick again, Adam and Sage reunite and Dylan finds his way back to Chelsea. Plain and simple BUT in the soap world, for ANY of this to happen, we will need a YEAR!

I know , Carol. I do not like the turn for the worse this story is taking. Enough toying with the Sharon character. It’s not new!!!!! Over and over and over again????? How many times can so much demoralizing, traumatic, same old same old happenings revolve around one woman?
It’s a wonder the woman hasn’t run for the hills, pulling out her hair yet.
Furthermore, Sage is now getting on my nerves with her petulance. This is complete madness.
Then there’s Luca, who looks like Mickey Dolenz’s son, has it in his head ( or elsewhere) to seduce Summer. C’mon, writing people!!!! Give us a break ready.

Carol OR Timmm! I love Sharon and they need to give her/us a break! “Here we come, walking down the street” Ah, the Monkees, good call on KOOKus! I think ONE of the problems with him is he needs a family. His father threatens Victor and Lucas despises him but we have no face to make a connection! DROP some dead weight and hire a strong male from either AMC or OLTL to portray Mr. Santori.

@Timmm.
Hey, Timmmy,
Yeah, hire someone who is really Italian. The Santori name is as Italian as you can get. Luca does not look like a Spamiard either…not European.
Poor, Sharon…later.

I hope that, too, Timmmy. Love Nick and Sharon together. I think that’s the direction TPTB are taking.
Now, all that remains is to split Adam and Chelsea. But, I know you like her. So, I warn you not to bite my head off…LOL. luv-ya.

Your head is safe baby! I cannot stand Chelsea! I think Adam and Sage should get another go around OR bring back Paul’s daughter and watch the sparks fly! Heather [Val Bloom] and Adam were explosive!

Lol, my Timmmy. I thought you loved Chelsea…..the new , holier-than-thou-revised, Chelsea. My bad.
YES!!!! Heather!! I had completely forgotten about her….good call.

its time for you to have a refresher course on the definition of soap. Short for Soap Opera:
Full Definition of soap opera. 1a : a serial drama performed originally on a daytime radio or television program and chiefly characterized by tangled interpersonal situations and melodramatic or sentimental treatmentb : a series of real-life events resembling a soap opera.
Real Life events are inclusive of Mimorities. Inclusive not exclusive.

I think this will start the story of Sully’s paternity coming out but in the end Shawn will identify w Sharon since Sharon had put up Cassie for adoption and Sharon and Dylan will end up w Shawn’s son so they wont lose a child too. Then we will split into the custody fight between Nick/Sage and Adam/Chelsea. Sage’s behavior will get a lot worse before all of this is said and done.

Interesting assumption, Vicki. I like it….a very sound foretelling.

Very interesting.

If you want to know what happens watch old episodes of Melrose Place. Chuck Pratt wrote for that show and is basically updating his old scripts. Seriously I have watched old episodes of Melrose Place and it’s like watching an older version of Y&R. Pratt is not exactly a bad writer just a very lazy one. Sharon will find out soon enough that the baby is not hers and then she will have to decide how to tell Dylan and everyone else. It’s gonna happen soon I just feel it. Y&R sometimes gets a little wild but overall it has been on FIRE lately.

Mateo, I couldn’t have said it better – he’s the 21st Century’s answer to comedy writer Clyde Bruckman!!

this baby stuff stucks. just unwatchable. their is a lot of bad stories on Y&R right now. Sage needs to be gone already. this baby switch storyline has been terrible.

hi robert ..
the baby switch stories WHEW! this one must be # 2,455 …
I can’t take another one more, not one more!!!
When will it stop !!?

March 12, 2016
The Young and the Restless lost 270,000 viewers over the previous week and was down 441,000 from the same time period last year. Y&R averaged a 3.3 in households and tied its all-time low among women 18-49.

Y&R (all soaps) need to move forward, get out of what was and get into the 21st century storytelling..
The resurrection of scripts of 30 decades past will kill the soaps.. (baby DNA drama. AGAIN!

I think Nick needs a break from the insanity. I would love to see him go bonkers instead of Sharon.

Right, Ashleigh? Nick’s getting it from all sides….cackle, cackle cackle; these hens never stop. Now, he has one more to tackle; SHAWN. Yikes!!

I know, CeeCee!! He has the worst luck imaginable and has been pretty solid for a while. I would like to see him start drinking or have a mental breakdown and turn villainous for a while. What do you think Shawn is up to? Do you think they are going to use her to distract us from Natalie being his daughter??

@Ashleigh.
Hey, girl,
That’s a good question. I do not know what to make of her. This situation reminds of some LIFETIME movie, where the girl is always after the husband. Then, I think, gee, Shawn doesn’t exactly strike me as the femme fatale. She’s a kid, and Nick would never do anything like that.
But, Ash, what do they say about the quiet ones? Who knows??. I do think she has an agenda, though.
To be honest, Natalie is much more interesting to me. This girl really piques my curiosity. Is she Nick’s kid?
If so, Victor will be the receiver of a double whammy!! Luca ‘infiltrating’ one Summer, and then, having Natalie, his nemesis, as another granddaughter. Imagine that!! LOL.

He should go have a drink at his own club since no one else is there! What a joke! Marissa isnt there, Noah is gone and Mariah has been off the show for the most part BUT we have that little troll running around named Natalie and oh, no Kevin!

I do wish there could have been notice of the non-airing of Y&R on today, 3/27/16 & 3/18/16. Will the show continue on POP, cable ch: #175? If not, can you please let me know when and where (times and and cable channels) the show will be aired beginning next week?
Thank-you very much, Elaine goodwin

No POP will not air, the episodes will begin again on Monday at usual times and channels. I agree, I could care less about basketball and they should have made a better effort at announcing the delayed episodes. UGH!

You must no watch daytime on regular basis. CBS airs the NCAA tournament every year and has for decades. They always preempt the soaps for two days for the opening round and regular programming resumes the following week.

There was notice. CBS ran a crawl that because of basketball Y&R and B&B would not air on 3/17 or 3/18. No eps will be missed. No, it will not air on POP because no new eps aired.

If it doesn’t air on CBS, it won’t air on POP – it will return on Monday the 21st.

I just wish this whole thing would go away. I hate hate hate hate it when Y and R does all these “baby” switching stories. And it’s ridiculous how they’re handling the Nick/Sage/Shawn adoption. I can’t believe it works like this. No matter what, Sage is not “with it” and what adoption agency would ever agree she’s sane enough to adopt a child?

Adoption does not work like how they’re showing it.

I too don’t think an adoption agency (or a pregnant woman) would let Sage adopt so soon after the death of a child. She hasn’t fully dealt with that and yes, she is looking for a replacement. She needs time to heal from Christian’s death; then she can explore adoption.

Thought nuBilly would bring me back to this soap, but not even his solid performances can do it. I’m done.

Suoooo the ratings went down when Glummer came back and we saw her every day. Maybe they will see this and put her on the same role as Kyle & Marissa and bring back Jill, Lauren. Mariah etc.

hi Nikki..
I have need to FF her, the squished face expression looks like she is having a constipation problem LOL
Anyways- I think they should blow something up, again.. I have a couple of ideas as to what..
I really really really need some bang-up excitement and after a wild fallout !
I think they should all get stoned and do some entertaining stuff possibly some good paranormal excitement..
0oooh ! Adam should find Jimmy Hoffa/anything different LOL 😉

Hi suoooo Oh my gosh you made me laugh. I’m with you. We already know old Vic is going to get off one way or another & he’ll have to get even with everyone who went against him except glummer. He’ll probably have her run the company. I’d like to see him play Victor in his orange jumpsuit for a few months at least. And I don’t think I have to tell you what they can do with glummer. She always makes me think of someone sucking lemons only with her it’s permanent. Later my friend.

How about the Underground again since no one goes there anymore!

Amen 100 percent Nikki!

Glummer?

Summer or as I use to call her bummer.

hey Mark..
Glummer = Summer … 🙂

It’s a very stupid story line for anyone to believe that Sharon had a baby in such a short time and for Sharon not know that something was birth from her womb. No doctor check ups or anything to alert somebody that nothing occurred concerning a birth. Please Iam about to stop watching this show because this has to be far worst than any scene shown.
talking about insultling someone’s intelligence. Try again.

They did the same thing to Ashley in 2009 when she lost the baby because of Adam and had a hysterical pregnancy etc. Finally Tracy came home when it all came out and took her to the Doctor. Stupid!! I

I’d like to explore WHO Natalie is going to turn out to be!! Any ideas?

all things considering how tired the show is looking, on the bright side… as long as nick and sharon have a glimmer of hope of reuniting ..im a fan! nick and sharon are the real deal!!

I have watched Y&R since it began,in my opinion Sharon has gotten away with too much without being exposed.very dishonest..Adam & Victor should become closer. Billy should go away.I wish Drucilla could return, she was a strong force in Neil”s life Ashley should get her cure.Victor & his family are close knit should be even closer,Victor should find out about Luca using his Grand-daughter.,I don”t care for this Phylis,Jack should have better. Luca should take his wife back to their Country. How can Sharon have a baby and dont remember the birth, unrealistic, your body lets you know of the changes.

has no one figured out that Shawn is the “love” child of Nick and the crazy Dr Sandy Anderson from their high school days……therefore, Nick will be adopting his own grandchild, thus making Sage a little more unbalanced when the truth comes out…Sage and Sharon, along with Summer, Noah, Mariah and Faith will end up in Hawaii at a raging volcano, where Sage pushes Summer and Noah to their deaths…and Mariah has to push Sage in to protect Sharon and Faith….Nick will be busy at stocking the bar at the Underground to notice that anyone is gone, and probably getting some other woman pregnant….also, Natalie is going to turn out to be another child of Shelia Carters…….eventually, kidnapping Lauren and Micheal and trying to kill them….
