THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Victor and J.T.’s Clash Leads To Devastating Consequences!

Courtesy/CBS

Hold on to your socks, Y&R fans.  Next week as the top-rated daytime drama series is set to celebrate their 45th anniversary, they are launching into it with major story bombshells!

If you caught today’s episode and followed social media in the last 24 hours you know that one of those bombshells was part of a big “Cliffhanger Friday” when J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) fresh off a violent confrontation with Victoria (Amelia Heinle), is confronted by his arch-nemesis Victor  Newman(Eric Braeden).

Courtesy/CBS

When J.T. shows up at the Newman Ranch, he then uses a key to open a drawer when the lights come on! It’s an angry Victor that catches him and who demands J.T. go to his office right now.

Once there, Victor confronts JT about breaking into his safe, and shocks him by having obtained footage of J.T. putting his hands on his daughter.  JT is enraged and demands to know how long Victor has been spying on him, to which Victor turns the tables and tells J.T. as long as he has been spying onNewman Enterprises.

Later, J.T. brings up Colleen and Victor yells at him, and then orders J.T. out of Genoa City tonight, or he will get rid of him all by himself!

J.T. informs Victor that he and Victoria are engaged, so it is Victor who lost at his own game.

Next, Victor is repeatedly calling J.T. a “loser “and next thing you know an all-out brawl ensues all the way to the top of the stairs, which comes to its conclusion when Victor is being showed and falls down the stairs.  Now lying unconscious, what will J.T. do? Will he call for help? Leave the scene?

Watch the scenes after the jump! Then let us know what you thought of it, and what you think will happen next on Y&R’s 45th anniversary week episodes in the comment section below!

Way too violent for me, and can’t really get excited about it. Hmmm…do you think Jack will be blamed since he set himself up for it? Will Ashley’s loyalties be tested? Will Jack’s non-Abbot status be revealed? Will Paul cover for J.T.? Sorry, not enthused yet. Now, if genuine Abbot Traci takes the lead at Jabot, that’ll get me excited. Oh, and don’t forget the return of Kyle. Yawn.

I’m with you on that. Would love to see Traci come back and take over. She is the sensible one of them all. I don’t want to see Jack not be an Abbot. Good grief Dina always said he looked just like John and usually she calls him John. I don’t want to see Ashley win over Jack but I do want to see Ashley win over Victoria. Kyle coming back ? Who cares!

I give Kudos to Mal !!
Y&R ‘finally’ has Action!
The stories have become quite intriguing..

Seems- something is wrong with JT, hopefully not another brain tumor story, but if so it will be quick lol .. JT’s time is becoming closer to exit everyday..

Of course Jack will be blamed and we will have a month of that, however Mal is giving us great stuff so it won’t be boring.
I am looking forward to ALL the stories playing out, especially Dina’s .

Victor will survive he is Da`Man ..

Also; I am luvin’ the speed of the stories, it’s been a good thing to let go of the drag on and on and on… I like moving on..

I’m loving it too!

We had to know this was going to happen. I just don’t understand how or why JT turned abusive.

We all know what will happen….as I mentioned already…
Jack will be blamed.

@CeeCee…Hi sweets, hope all is well…
Absolutely… Victor will point the finger at Jack…
saying he came to his home and violently assaulted
him, then purposely pushed him down the stairs.
1 down,1 to go..JT will possibly meet a similar fate
to his lost love Colleen.

You’re right, my lady…..I still can’t get over what JT has become!! I knew he would take the evidence.
However I am sure, knowing Victor, there’s more stashed somewhere.

Oh, Celia, WHY WHY do writers think that people being falsely accused is compelling storytelling? Especially when they make the police so dunderheadedly stupid! Has Paul Williams gotten one right yet? Been there done that…repeatedly. And Nick & Sharon again? Oy vey.

Ahhh, Soaphound….
Poor Paul…..he couldn’t even figure Zach out without outside help….and if he didn’t have a virago for a wife, holding him by the jewels, maybe he’d act the lawman he’s supposed to be, instead of following her lead.
Cricket…hmmmm, that’s another character I don’t recognize….her feet must be soooo gelid in bed. Ha!

True but Victor saw JT grab Vicki on that video. He will want JT dead!

Oh, my T…..do you think JT will try to kill Victor while in a coma? Will he pull the plug?

Eric Braeden once said in an interview that he would have to be carried out of the damn studio before he would ever retire!

More power to him, T……if Eric is healthy and if his job fulfills him; why not? He should stay….I know I would miss all of Victor’s male-factions……

Soapy drama. Just the way I like it.

It’s great!

OK…you know what: I give J.T. ULTIMATE PROPS for standing up to that HYPOCRITICAL BULLY Victor…who has been in need of a SERIOUS BEATDOWN for quite some time now!!!!! Most of all, I agree with Jack…Victor should JUST DROP DEAD ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!

Later.

I agree with you jaybird. It’s about time that pompus ass finally got knocked off his pedestal. To me he got what he deserved. FINALLY!!! If JT has any brains in his head he’ll walk away and leave there. Take care.

soapqueenforever…EXACTLY!!!!! To me, watching a DESPICABLE man like Victor (over the years) belittling, bullying and controlling his own family (and others)…I DO NOT find that to be entertaining!!!!! I find it to be BEYOND DISGUSTING!!!!!

Have a good one.

If Victor dropped dead, there goes Young and the Restless!

Amen! Victor IS Y&R!

Exactly. Victor does deserves to be ‘roughed up’, as it were….but, I would draw the line at murder.
JT left, not knowing if Victor were dead or alive. That is unconscionable. And, JT is no better than Victor at this point….worse. As far as I know, Victor is a cad, but not a murderer. Paul, the somnambulist trusts the wrong man.
Soooo surprised with JT….leaves Victor for dead, then goes his jolly way acting as sweet as honey with Victoria, as if all is well. He is the true image of a criminally insane fiend.
And then the sky fell, Boop, LOL…. Jack, the man whom, to my thinking, would finish Victor off, developed a conscience—he did the honorable thing, the human thing….I must say, I have a newfound respect for Jack.
I don’t wish death upon anyone—even my worst enemy, if I had one.

Great points, jaybird369! The thought occurred to me that both Y&R and GH are fronted by a despicable male character who bullies his way through life, abusing others verbally and physically and committing crimes along the way. What great role models…

James…as always, thanks for the backup, Brother!!!!! Much, much appreciated.

Have a good one, Brother.

A far cry from the virtuous Bauers from the old GUIDING LIGHT or the Hughes clan from AS THE WORLD TURNS, eh jamesj75? But anti-heroes are allegedly more interesting than “good guys”. Matter of taste, I suppose. For me, there’s nothing hotter than a decent, upright hero
(a’la Drew or, hopefully, the new Chase).

One BIG difference, James, my friend….Victor has charisma….Sonny has the mumbles. LOL.
I think GH would not suffer so much without Sonny. I wish I could send you a bitmoji—-I wouldn’t even have to say a word to express what and how I feel about our Sonny…..but, you already know, yes? HaHa.
I would miss Victor. Also, we don’t see him half as much as we see Sonny and his vitriolic wife.

Victor’s fall was well done but let’s be honest: it’s never really a shock when a show starts showing off a new staircase set — you know it’s so somebody can take a tumble. And of course a drunken Jack will show up and the crime will be pinned on him.

A Nick and Sharon reunion? Um, that’s a hard pass. Nick is smokin’ hot and doesn’t need to settle for his ex who has also married and done the nasty both his half brothers, his father, and his ex-stepfather Jack (and slept with his former brothers-in-law Billy and Brad). I’ma file that under YUCK. The only thing I would be comfortable getting back after it had been passed around to that many family members is a good book.

Victoria accepting J.T.’s proposal was the height of stupidity. The man just abused her and she decides that the best thing to do is have the sofa sex with him and then agree to tie the knot so him and his temper continue to be full time roomies with her small children? Them’s some exemplary mothering skillz you got there, Vic. (And while we’re on the topic, can this show build a damn bedroom set or two for when people are getting busy? I’m no prude but I would never sit on anyone’s sofa in Genoa City — them people’s nasty.)

I’m just hoping that Dina’s revelation isn’t headed where I think it is: that the man Dina had an affair with and who fathered Jack was Christian Miller. That would be a true “jump the shark” moment the show would never recover from…

I meant Albert Miller, not Christian Miller.

Which would make Victor and Jack brothers! #Shudder There was also word that Victor could be Jack’s father, but even that’s a bit out there for me considering that the two are fairly close in age. But I digress!

All I’m hoping for is that TGVN dies from his injuries and EB retires.

I was thinking the exact same thing when Victoria said yes. The guy practicality chokes her to death in the privacy of her own home one minute, and the next she is on him like a dog in heat. As the saying goes, it’s easier to toss them out without a license. I thought she had more sense and more brains in hef head than that. I guess she is following her brother to brainless town. Happy viewing and thanks for listening

If the show is attempting to have mortal enemies Jack and Victor suddenly be related by blood, your idea of making them brothers makes more sense than what I fear the moment Dina said Jack wasn’t John’s son– that show will try to make Victor Jack’s father– it might have shock value for a second, but end up being a mistake, like when they made Katherine and Jill mother and daughter.

Yes Alan, Nick is smoking alright, looking better than ever, and he (and Sharon) deserve a better story. And so right about the furniture situation. I thought sofa nookie was just for teenagers. They should at least have washable slip covers!

Oh yeah….remember Alexis and Julian, Soaphound? I called her out….acting like a teen and my head was bitten off…
You are soooo right….and Alan is cracking me up!!
I would actually opt for plastic slip-covers….LOL. Too funny, you are!!

Dina has Alzheimers, her statement about Jack, she is confused. Its not true.

Maybe it is and maybe it isn’t, my T….LOL.
Dina may be getting Jack’s circumstances of his birth confused with Ashley’s…..we shall see, Timmmy.

The only good thing to come out of this would be for Victor to honestly and truly be dead! Then we’d finally be rid of that hideous character as well as Eric Braeden’s pompous ass.

Amen! You won’t get any arguments out of me on that count!

Chad…dude…Y-E-S…THANK YOU!!!!! That DISGUSTING OLD BLOWHARD Victor dropping dead would be MUSIC TO MY EARS!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

Have a good one.

The show is dead if Victor is gone. Let God take him ; not the show.

He is the foundation of the show!

Could this be Eric Braeden’s swan song?! Here’s hoping yes. I’ve never liked Eric much less Victor.

kudos to y n r this week!!! can t miss for real this time!
yes to Shick!!..that intense kiss melted the tv! it was worth the wait. thank you ptb
yes to the JT / Victor showdown!
but helll nooo to the Jack paternity revelation. he is John Abbotts son. thru and thru. period. this has been Jacks dilemna and characters motivation for his entire life; can he live to fill his dads shoes! ..i only hope after all of Jacks greatest fears come to fruition about it being true it only ends up that Dina was mistaken…also i really wish Dinas alzheimers condition could mellow out a bit.. shes too fierce as an actress not to be lucid more often.

I agree damien…yes, yes and yes….But, imagine Ashley’s elation as she watches Jack eat crow.
Remember what Jack proclaimed for all to hear?: the clause, damien…Jack threw it in Ashley’s face that only an Abbott could run the “show”.

Hey there, Celia!

You make some great points in your reply to me regarding Victor and Sonny. I will definitely admit that Victor isn’t as abusive or as terrible as Sonny, and the dimples can only go so far. And indeed, Victor does have charisma. For you, myself, and so many other viewers, Sonny is in a sorry class all unto himself. I also like Victor’s wife and do root for her. Your characterization of Sonny’s spouse as “vitriolic wife” is spot on!

Thank you, James……
I would not miss Sonny or Carly if they left, yesterday. Sonny, especially, has a following….I simply do not find these characters endearing. Such hypocritical beings. They ‘call’ on people while they engage in the same and more; ie, Nelle…..without remorse.
Perhaps I’m to feel compassion for what Nelle is doing? Yet, I do not……albeit, I think Nelle is a very disturbed, misguided girl, LOL.

WOW, what a show, loving it…The writing this past week has been wonderful along with the acting…What happens next, who knows but I will be glued to my seat while watching and oh so looking forward to Jaime, Janice, Meg and other’s to return…The DRAMA continues on The YOUNG and the RESTLESS…

On thursday at 10am on home and family, jerry douglas, peter bergman, marla, eileen, and beth will be on.It will rerun on friday at 12pm.I always loved meg bennett! Thirty five years taping the show.

THANKS Eddie for this information

“Meet the Abbotts!”

Yes, eddie…thanks.

If Victor is in a coma and doesn’t (or pretends) to not know what happened, I think JT is going to keep quiet and allow Jack to take blame. I am sure Mac will have a few stories to tell when she comes to town.

I thought the same thing about Mac, Lew. I did say that she probably divorced JT and filed for sole custody becsuse of his “issue”….yet, K/Kay made a good argument when she said that knowing Mac, she woukd have warned Victoria.
On the other hand, I, also, stated that the woman keeps silent and lives in shame.
I hope you are right….I want Mac to open her mouth to Victoria.

After today, Lew, my suspicions have sortnof been validated. Why is Mac so adamant about JT and Victoria re-marrying? She said so much with just a couple of words—-disastrous words.

TGVN gave JT a good a$$ whooping.

He really did!

Victor know he wrong for that.

I loved it since JT grabbed Victoria!

Victor too old to be beating up on folks. He needs to buy an RV and start traveling the midwest. Lol

What are they doing to the JT character???

You have a topical story line. Great. Tell it. But don’t put a square piece in a round hole! Find or create a character that makes sense!! JT was NEVER violent or abusive. He’s never been an angel but he was never the kind of character that would lay a hand on a woman. EVER.

I’m embarrassed for Thad. He is so successful right now and he returned to this show for THIS DRECK??? Awful awful awful.

I agree, Jules. This drastic character change should at least have a medical reason, like Sharon’s bipolar situation. Otherwise, just write a new character for Victoria to be victimized by. You can still tell the same, timely story without ruining a nice (and sexy) character like J.T., who used to hate Kevin for his dubious morals back in the day. Doesn’t gel with me.

I don’t like it that J.T. is abusive, either. I love that he and Victoria are loving . I hope that they’re working it out in reality.

I say its about time Victor finally got what he deserved. Not that I’m condoning the sudden animalistic behavior in JT, but its about time that smug look was wiped off Victor’s face. I’m sure JT will get his again when what he did to Victoria comes to light, and you know it will, whether Victor’s tapes are destroyed or not. Billy and Nick will each take a crack at him if they don’t deceide to tag team him. I guess it didn’t take Nick to long to get over his broken heart over Chelsea since him and Sharon are going at it again. Now we just have to see what Nikki is going to walk in on with he r little boy toy. I am waiting for Aurtoro to start in with Abby. That should prove to be interesting, Nikki and Abby cat-fighting over a man. I am getting tired of the whole Hillary and Lily situation. Enough is enough already. I guess they’ll be rolling around the floor next. Next, Jack is going to have to apply his non-Abbott company clause to himself. So if I am correct, Traci and Billy are John’s only bio-kids. Dina was very busy back in her day. I can’t wait to see Jack’s face when that comes to light. As the saying goes, tune in tomorrow….

Jack will forever be thee Jack Abbott..
Victor will forever be victor Newman..
Jack IS John’s son and that will never change, it will simply be Dina’s Alzheimer’s at work..
Y&R rolls around Victor and Jack..

It will be an exciting story, but I for one, will not go down the stupid road by believing that the writers would drastically change a cornerstone charater, Jack Abbott..

It will be a story to have Jack feel what Ashely is feeling, being told she is not an Abbott..
It is just an eye opener for Jack, Johns son.

If anybody really knows the character of Victor they know he is a bully abusive in his own right as for Jack not being a Abbott that’s crap writing and my sweet Terry is rolling in his grave over it the whole family was built around Jack Abbott . Dina is not in her right mind and Traci should be front and center in this story she is the heart of the family as for JT throwing that ass hole down the stairs kudos he has Colleen’s heart I just wish it had been MM shoving him down the stairs.

That’s my wish, soapqueenforever. Traci back in town full time, maybe even at Jabot.

(1.) I want Jack to remain John’s son. (2.) Victor Newman is the best part of Y&R. ( 3.) Nick hasn’t been an angel ; he left his wife for Phyllis (4. ) The writers destroyed Sharon with the all over the map writing. ( 4.) I enjoyed Friday’s episode. ( 5) I’m sick of Lily.
(6.) Paul is a terrible police chief.; he doesn’t have any crime solving skills. ( 7.) mal should allow Victor and Nikki to be happy since they love each other. Even real couples are happy at times. (8.) The show has been interesting, but Friday’s episode gave it a huge boost in the direction of exciting. (9.) Dina’s episodes are at times, the highlights of the show ; between she and Victor, I love watching the show. (10.) I don’t care about Nick because he is a disloyal child. Not a person in life wants a untrustworthy child ; I don’t care how terrible the parent is. If a child or anyone would be a snake to a parent, what would he or she do to me? I’ll end this, now.

hi Boop ..
Agree– and Victor is Y&R ..
As for Nick- he is man-child ..
I wouldn’t want to kiss him, he is a dork lol ..

makung Jill not a Foster was a disaster here we go again poor John Abbott I am already bored with Dina sorry not a true Alzheimer’s story

Oh, my Lordy Lord, su…..can you hear me laughing?
Nick is a dork?

Excellent post, Boop….true to the actual storylines…..kudos.

Boop…Nick acts like a LOVESICK AND LUST CRAZED frat boy in heat!!!!! To think that that DROOLING CHEESEHEAD used to be the owner of Crimson Lights…lol. WHAT A MORON?!?!?

Have a good one.

I AM SICK TO DEATH OF LILY! SHE IS LIKE NAILS ON A CHALKBOARD FOR ME-UGH!

Yeah, dmr!!!!!!!! Lily is another character who is being led in the opposite derection….
She is turning into a petty, spiteful little B—–albeit, I loooove her clothes….more importantly, she is stunning in them—-wears them well.
The tables have turned—Hilary the pussy cat and Lily the tigress?

What I don’t like is Dina saying Jack is not John’s father. Why keep going down this route? Pretty soon there will be no actual Abbotts left. And what is the point? I hope a DNA test proves Dina wrong, but then who would they test it against? Is Traci John’s daughter? Is Billy’s John’s son?

It was great! The Mighty Mustache has literally fallen! It doesnt happen often. Ole Victor held his own against JT but tripped up in the end. Great camera and stunt work. Poor Jackie is a mutt and NOW a suspect! Friday’s Y&R was FINALLY a great show with a good cliff hanger. AND Devon FREE!

When J.T. put his hands around Victoria’s throat, I lost interest in this character and his violent story line. He needs to go !!!!

Wouldn’t Sharon and Nick have heard the sirens from the ambulance and police cars? They live on the ranch. Even if it’s large, sirens are loud and it seems like there’s one road in and out on the ranch and it goes past Sharon’s house. And where was ranch security? They should be able to tell police that JT was there. Plus, I would think Victor would have security cameras in his house.

With Jack, police can talk to the taxi driver as to what time Jack was dropped off. They then would say, well, you waited X minutes to call 911.

I thought Jack was a bit cavalier when he got home as to telling Abby about her father. I know he doesn’t like Victor, but he loves his niece.

I am not a fan of J.T. at all. I don’t like anything about this character. He has zero chemistry with the cast, and for whatever reason (unbeknownst to me) has quite the ego! I hope that Victor does away with him! The bozo didn’t think that Victor would have his office/safe on surveillance? Keystone cop/detective-
