The race is on! The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), today announced the Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for the 41st Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards.

So just how did the the academy arrive at the pre-nomination list of performers?  Here is the process: An online judging ballot containing all entrants in each of six performer categories was sent to registered, eligible peer judges. The ballot contained a randomized order of performers in each category, regardless of their show affiliation. Judges were required to view clips online containing the work of each performer entry before selecting their top 10 performer choices in each category. Please note that the Outstanding Lead Actress category contains 12 pre-nominated performers and the Supporting Actor category contains 13 pre-nominated performers due to ties.

Ballots were submitted directly to Lutz & Carr, an independent accounting firm, who tabulated the results. The candidates below who received the highest number of votes now advance to the blue ribbon screening round, scheduled to begin on March 26, 2014, which will determine both nominees and recipients. All nominations will be announced May 1st.

Note that in the blue ribbon round, all performers will submit their work of scenes from one episode during the eligibility year! And now here are this year’s pre-nominees! Congratulations to all!

Of note:  from reports we have heard, Michael Muhney (Ex-Adam, Y&R) decided to remove himself from the competition in the Lead Actor category, thus he was not on the initial ballot.  And for the first time, four actors from web series made into the pre-nomination round with Corbin Bleu and Eric Nelsen and Denyse Tontz and Kelley Missal, representing the online versions of All My Children and One Life to Live.

So what do you think of the pre-nominations?  Did you favorites make the cut?  Which five performers in each category would you like to see move on to the finals? Let us know your thoughts!

Where was Jacob Young in this??????

Im so happy Sharon Case made it . She is an amazing talent

Sharon Case has pulled off the good, bad and the ugly over the years and she deserves this win. If she don’t get it, she was robbed. For best supporting actress Melissa Claire Egan hands down. The girl can act effortlessly. The little girl that plays Faith is brilliant! She deserves to win child actress.

Sharon Case for the win!!!

PETER BERGMAN, as Jack Abbott best lead actor and SHARON CASE as Sharon Newman best lead actress is my vote for my show The Young and The Restless

I agree with Peter Bergman as best lead. He was brilliant when he became addicted to the pills and I love his display of affection for his family, it seems so real and his friendship and concern for Adam was wonderful as though he was the guy’s friend in real life. Very talented actor. He deserves it hands down. I totally agree with that.

Happy for Sharon Case. YAY

Happy for Sharon Case as Sharon Newman. Girl has had it ruff these past few years. working with awful storylines , If anyone can make sour lemons into grade A+ lemonade, she deserves this nomination for best leading actress

I totally agree.

Good for him, can u imagine MM at the awards show? Talk about uncomfortable for everyone!

TOUGH TO BE THEM ,HE DESERVES THE EMMY MORE THEN ANYONE ON THIS LIST ,

He deserves a jail sentence, not an Emmy.

I agree Meg ! What a snub to Micheal M. and to leave him out from the rewards is just plain WRONG !

I found in life those who most deserve recognition are those who don’t need it, they let their work speak for itself. He also knows he probably didn’t stand a chance of being honored even if he deserved it for his work, because choosing him would have been too controversial because of all the rumors, true or not, these shows avoid scandal and controversy, even the appearance of them, at all cost.

I agree MM did the most outstanding work of anyone listed. And to MAMA who said he deserves a jail sentence I would ask what for. I haven’t seen where he has been convicted of anything. Is this still the United States where you are presumed innocent until proven guilty or are you proven guilty when TMZ says you are.

MAMA ,FOR WHAT ,?IT WAS ALL MADE UP BTS GOT WORSE LIKE THE TELEPHONE GAME ,GETTING TO SOME CYBERBULLIES THE HATERS WHO TROLL THE MESSAGE BOARDS WHO CONTINUED WITH THE LIE. THEN THE BULLIES FROM TMZ HEARD ABOUT HIS FIRING AND UNLIKE NELSON BRANCO DIDN’T BOTHER TO CK FACTS ,THE BULLIES OF TMZ JUST COPIED THE LIES FROM THE MESSAGE BOARDS ,THE ONLY THING ,MM IS GUILITY OF IE BEING OUTSPOKEN ,CARRING ALOT HUBRIS ,WHICH BY THE WAY HE DESERVES TO HAVE ,HE WAS Y&R S VERY BEST ,!

Its a statue. Its a popularity contest. Like high school and running for student council. An Emmy is something that strokes an actor’s ego but means very little in the grand scheme of things. Many people work very hard, harder than actors, an they don’t get fancy parties and awards shows. My brother is an RN. He does valuable work that assists with saving lives. There are doctors and teachers and all kinds of people who do their important work and dont give two hoots about shiny recognition. Far too much attention is being given here.

I’ll ditto that

Did none of you read the last paragraph??

“Michael Muhney (Ex-Adam, Y&R) decided to remove himself from the competition in the Lead Actor category.”

It was MM’s choice to NOT compete. And I respect him for that. Whatever went down in that situation, the gossip has finally died down and I’m sure he didn’t want it started up again.

YES ,SZima ,WE did read it. NELSON BRANCO the only real journalist MM actually talked with said he had not submitted, but that does not mean we can not say he deserved to win this year as he did in the years past, MM probably didn’t want to deal with the drama and b/c hes the decent man here ,It is sad b/c MM was on the committee last year to make this process more fair last year .Johnny you are right there are many nurses doctors and teachers who deserve a recognition ,but then there are many that don’t in those feels too, who don’t deserve the respect who shouldn’t be in those fields too..IN TN THIS CASE PPL NEED TO SMARTEN UP STOP READING THE LIES FROM THE TABS AND LISTENING TO THE BULLIES FROM TMZ ,AND LET PRODUCERS KNOW ,THIER SHOW WILL BE A SUCESS ,Y&R MADE A MISTAKE IN FIRING HIM ,HE HAS APOLOGIZED FOR BEING OUTSPOKEN AND HIS HUBRIS (SHELDON USED HUBRIS DESCRIBING HIMSELF ON A EP YESTERDY ) SO IT IS TIME TO LET IT GO ,MM N HK ARE THE VICTIMS ,BUT MM MORE SO.HE DESERVES A GREAT ROLE WHERE HE CAN EXPRESS HIS GREAT TALENT ,HE ACTUALLY DESERVED ALOT OF THAT HUBRIS IN HIS BACKPACK.

Judi Dench was nominated for Best Actress and didn’t show up at the Oscars last night. He could have been nominated. The awards are about the work, not a popularity contest.

Dame Judy Dench didn’t show up for the Oscars because, as Cate Blanchette (sp?) stated, “Her movie did so well she’s in India filming a sequel right now!”

Michael Muhney flat wasn’t nominated by his peers or the show, which is a snub by them for the fantastic work he’d done. There was never any legitimate reason for his firing other than the show wanted to go with a new actor playing Adam. Everything else was pure speculation and rumor from an anonymous post on a soap web site. NOTHING has been stated, one way or another, if anything even happened, by anyone involved, and I believe that leaving Mr. Muhney out of the pre-nominations purely because of rumor and speculation is wrong. The man did a fantastic job this past year and deserves to be awarded for it, plain and simple.
wolfy

Wolf Howels please and Meg you know the truth and shame on MM.

Who says he had to be there, regardless of what people might believe his ability as an actor was being rate. I think it totally unfair and I refuse to watch it. What has Steve Burton, the actor who plays Noah, Kelly, summer, done that would entitle them to be nominated. Fen is different he did some outstanding acting. I believe M.M was force to remove his name which I feel is totally unjust the man a hell of an actor.

Just another reason I no longer watch Y&R. To see some of these non-talents on the list while Muhney is left off just exposes the whole Emmy process as a fraud.

I think the DAYS cast members are deserving! I think DOOL will win big!!!

Michael Fairman noted that from reports Michael Muhneydecided to REMOVE HIMSELF from the Lead Actor category, so he was not on the initial ballot. I’m a huge fan of his work on Y&R and wondered why he wasn’t on the list until I read that part. The report could very well be true, Michael Fairman has a lot of sources, and to slam others on the list is unfair. Also, he was in a different category than most others I’ve seen slammed. I don’t think the Emmy process is a fraud. Read how they go about it. Everyone agrees he is an outstanding performer, and maybe he didn’t want to be among his peers after such a scandal. I understand that. I would probably feel that way myself. No offense to anyone. I love Y&R and I relate to the fans who are passionate about the show. 🙂

Totally Agreed!

SHARON CASE, as Sharon Newman will win she deserves it. Best actress 🙂

IM SO HAPPY FOR SHARON CASE. MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ON Y&R

I’m a big fan of Eileen Davidson. I have my fingers crossed for her. She had a great year.

I know alot of TOLN’s actors decided against submitting their names for Emmy consideration, and I’m happy for the four who did and were pre-nominated. But there were some AMC and OLTL actors who submitted their names and weren’t pre-nominated, and I have to wonder if their work wasn’t up to snuff (which is possible) or if the network shows weren’t interested in supporting TOLN other than those four younger actors/actresses. Just a thought.

I’m no fool, the winners are from DOOL!!!

Where’s Michael Muhney?

UNLIKE HIS CASTMATES ,HE IS A DECENT MAN ,HE TOOK HIS NAME OUT OF THE RUNNING ,

Decent man???

Michael should have put his name in & H.H. should not have put her name in it. Talk about nerve.

Decent Man??? Michael Muhney did an amazing acting job on Y&R and yes he does deserve to be on the list and even win the Emmy.
BUT, he DID committ a sexual asault and therefore is NOT a “decent man”. It’s time we all stop and really think about what happened. Would any of you feel this way if it was your daughter, sister, friend or co-worker that was asaulted???

He withdrew his name. Very sad, his work was amazing all year.

I am sure he is trying to put this behind him it would be nice if everybody else did the same. A long list of good actors that have never won an emmy just a dust collector! Lol!

Cindy, I have a question, Where you there? Did you see MM commit such a crime? I doubt it, unless you were in the room. Look, I love MM and I support him. I like many others don’t believe this lie. But, I respect him for not wanting to get involved after the show threw him under the bus. Don’t plain on watching either, but, I still hope that Sharon Case and Peter Bergman wins. If not PB, I want Billy Miller to win. They are both still friends of MM and I am sure he would want to see them walk across that stage again.

I agree where you Cindy He did nothing wrong he is not guilty they need to get rid of heather King she made up a lie because he didn’t pay attention to hert and she wanted more time on the show she will pay for what she done someday, you know karmen

I would like to know how Cindy knows so much? Unless you were there you can only believe rumors that were never proved and Hunter just wanted a bigger spot on show and she probably made advance toward Michael and he ingnored her. She is a terrible actor also its all about her probably the same in real life. I believe in Michael and we are not the judge God is and if it was true then why no police were called or he being arrested. leave the greatest daytime actor on tv alone and his family and friends. Go Michael we love you and Heather will have to live with what she did to you!!!

This is great news for all of the actors. I am thrilled with the Days list of pre-nominees. I am surprised not to see Jen Lilly’s name on the ballot.

The Lead Actress list is excellent. Sami, Kristen and Nicole are powerhouse actresses (secretly cheering for Eileen and Ari). My prediction is that Eileen Davidson and Maura West are the two actresses to beat.

For Best Actor, James Scott should have been nominated and won last year. He has been amazing this year too. I think it could be his or Billy Miller’s to lose.

It is great to see so many young actors being nominated from “DOOL,” JJ, Abigail, Nick, Sonny. Since Chandler is no longer on the show, I think it would be fantastic to see Freddie Smith or Casey Moss win it.

It was time Eric Martsolf to be nominated. He has had a great year and held his own against Eileen. I am also a fan of Greg Vaughn, but his performance seems too understated.

One glaring omission is Lauren Koslow in Supporting Actress. She is fierce in every scene. I am disappointed “DOOL” did not get any pre-noms in that category.

Maybe since Wally Kurth got a pre-nomination, he will get a great storyline. How about a sibling for Sonny? More time with Adrienne? I would also love to see “Days” turn the character of Adrienne into a corporate schemer. It is always fun watching a “good guy” character turn bad.

Thanks, Michael for posting the list.

Thank You!

Where is Jeanne Theresa Donovan? Jenn Lilly
Where is Kate Roberts? Lauren Koslo

two excellent choices… that are amiss…and were so deserving… to minimally, make the cut…. AND WIN!

I AM SOOOOO excited… to see Wally Kurth, most of all – NICE!

would have been advantageous.. of the panel to recognize how wonderful, with zingers and all… the great John Aniston, Victor Kiriakis

LOL… THE WHOLE cast… canvas… as it were… spot on… the whole show… deserves to WIN: repeat… repeat… BEST SHOW 2 years in a row… Hope!

DAYS in many ways!!)

SHARON CASE BEST ACTRESS FOR SURE. SHARON NEWMAN YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS ALL STAR LOVE HER

I would love for SC to win it I think she is very good but I also appreciate the fact she does not play politics or trash people. That being said she will not win because she does not play the game and that is ok like I said simply something to collect dust. I would not support anyone from Y&R except SC, PB & MCE. Why because they kept their big mouths shut on the MM situation and ED would not get my vote because she was on the set of Y&R a few times and had to be totally ugly on twitter. Word to the actors you need to stay off politics, religion and trashing other actors their are a whole lot of us out here that watch these shows and we could care less about your opinions stick to acting. You do not want to hear my opinions and I do not want to hear yours.

I don;t like MCE as Chelsea. Sorry she bores the living daylights out of me. But that being said she was good as Annie on AMC

Sharon Case deserves best actress for being able to put a spin on all of the garbage she had to deal with and nail it each time. There has not been an actress in all of my days of watching daytime soaps that has had the misfortune of garbage storylines like this powerhouse has. She nailed everyone of the rotten storylines she was handed. Sharon Case is a dynamite actress. The last straw was pairing her with Eric Braeden which was not her fault. It should have never happened but the actress made it seem like a piece of cake as usual. She is beautiful as well as talented.

R u kidding me Sharon case , she is a horrible, I can’t stand her that’s the one they should fire

Outstanding Lead Actress, absolutely must be given to daytimes’ most neglected wonderful actress, mss B&B,KATHERINE KELLY LANG!!!! EMMY COMMITTEE must give that to her.

Outstanding Younger Actress: Kim Matula, hands down!

Outstanding Younger Actor: Adam Gregory.

oh please, kkl is a joke, Maura West as Ava on GH should win that hands down.

Maura West and Sharon Case the best on the female aspect as far as you give them a story and a script and BAM they make you believe anything and can sell it

I agree almost with you. Its definitely time for KKL to win she is amazing as Brooke and Kim matula is one of the strongest younger actress on a soap her acting is flawless and i have been waiting patiently since they dramatically aged Hope for her to get at least nominated however I don’t think Adam Gregory has done enough to make the final cut . I think someone from Y&R or GH might take it but I would like to see Scott Clifton or Darin Brooks take home an emmy all their scenes have been gold. The way they both play off Kim Matula and each other has made for interesting TV to say the least however good luck to all the actress/actors for there amazing dedication to daytime!!!!!

How hard is it to make out all the time, that is all Kim Matula’s character does. She has not put any real drama into her acting. Maybe she would deserve a thought of winning if she were still hooked on pills or something other than trying to figure out which brother to sleep with, that is the writers fault.

The whole cast of Days of our Lives are winners!!!

ONCE AGAIN Robin Mattson has been overlooked!!! WTF???

Yet Kelly Sullivan received a nomination instead.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Kelly was good too…

perhaps… the “panel” is making up for most of the mistakes at last years nominations

Finola Hughes
Kelly Sullivan
Jane Elliot

pre-noms this year… and seriously sic overlook last year

unfortunately… Robin Mattson… didn’t make the cut…. the writing this year for her character… was jeopardized… with the outlandish cartoonish misfortune RM had to be

I just hope they rejuvenate her character – Robin Mattson and the audience deserve her back on our screen

I wonder ,why isn’t Rena Sofer (Quinn Fuller) for Emmy nominated ?? She is a great actress!!

I love Laura Wright and Roger Howarth so happy

Howarth nominated for Franco is ridiculous. The behind the scenes campaign and maneuvering must have rivaled anything Harvey Weinstein has ever done for the Oscars. What an absolute joke.

I agree GH50. This list is appalling. Roger Haywarth goes from playing a dark anti-hero on OLTL and is reduced to playing Carrot Top with a tumor.
And Laura Not-so-Wright? All that yelling and caterwauling does not equate to great acting.
Finola Hughes better win this one.

I agree! I love Roger Howarth!

o,k here it is ,,its very simple…lead actor catagory micheal muhney is not nominated,, but doug davidson who did pretty much nothing this year is nominated,,,congrats to all ,, but can you seriously take this seriously…what a joke,,,

Exactly- MM should not have removed himself- I’m sure it was forced- let’s assume he is an IDIOT- maybe he is maybe he is not- who knows- but is work was phenomenal- no one can take his talent away from him- Since when has an award show shied away from RECOGNIZING folks of dubious character. Seems MM gave them an easy way out- oh well, cant change it..however Davidson should not be on this list…it just seems to fixed when you see his name up there. Too bad…

How did Steve Burton get on this list? The man just stares into space. Pathetic.

I Totally agree ,this is a pure crapola. TPTB at Y&R should be ashame,This is why I stop watch the day MM and BM did their last scene.

@Red Rivers stop and think about why SB is on there who is his best friend and why is he on this show? Answer JFP and if anybody wants to keep their job over there they better embrace him.

This is why I am so glad I took the Muhney Walk on Jan 30. MM, BM, SC, PB and MCE were the driving force of Y&R. Everyone else is just fillers.

@Melissa I have to say the phrase the Muhney Walk is the best I have ever heard! Kudos!

Wow! A lot of strong contenders.

LOL. In the women, yes. Men-not so much. I wished Debbie Morgan was on that list. Whoever wins should thank those who took their names out of the ballot, for which if they had not they would not be up there getting their award.

Agreed about Debbi!

Some great talent out there indeed!

No Debbi Morgan and no Darnell Williams. No Sal S. Not enough minority represented. Just terrible. The fixes are already there.

Debi posted on twitter last year that she wouldn’t be submitting her name for the Emmy’s. I was bummed not to see Sal’s name on the list. She did amazing work.

Debbi formally said she would not be putting herself into the running. A lot of TOLN probably didn’t to prove their points on the failure for second seasons of AMC/OLTL.

I know Debbi Morgan chose not to submit herself and if the list of lead/supporting actresses that was leaked early was for real then I guess Sal Stowers must have opted out as well because there’s no way her awesome performance could have been ignored. I respect their choice but such a shame because both of them as well as Darnell Williams did some of the strongest soap work I’ve seen in a long time.

Why bring race up when it has been well reported debbie and Sal did not submit their names.

Dominic Zamprogna . It’s about time!!!!

Billy Miller is going to win lead actor. Glad to see Steve Burton in there. The race looks real close this year. Eileen Davidson should win lead actress.

Steve Burton wins for longest staring without blinking. This can’t be real. How much did Phelps pay for him to be on the list?

Steve Burton had some fantastic scenes and he deserves to be on the list. These judges watch CLIPS of scenes to decide, they don’t base it on the show. No need to be rude about him. He’s a great actor.

Except that Steve Burton did nothing to get nominated an Emmy!

Michael Muhney would have won hands down! Hopefully Billy Miller will take it home! I stopped watching the day MM and BM left the show. FIRE JFP!!!!!!

Can not believe that Greg Vaughn didn’t get nominated for Outstanding Actor! No one deserves or should get Outstanding Actress but Eileen. She tore the scenery apart!

Greg Vaughn is in the Supporting Actor Pre-nom list

Sometimes an actor who should be lead puts his name in for supporting because the field is less crowded with Emmy favorites that win year after year– it may have been planned move on his people part in order to give Greg a better shot at being recognized

Hey Michael, Can Roger submitted screens as Todd? His best work was Todd begging Carly for one last shot and telling her he leaving town.

Michael Muhney deserved to be on the list. The awards are a recognition of the actors’ work. He was amazing all year and no one should take that away from him. His absence taints the awards and the process.

What a freakin joke!

Too many good ones so it wont matter to me who wins…however, there is few who i feel werent award worthy but i wont be negative here and mention which ones!!!

This is just a first step, the performers and performance that aren’t “award” worthy will be weeded out in the next round– at least one would hope they would, but these awards are so subjective– like Olympic figure skating there are a lot behind the scenes deals that go into these things that no fan should take any of it seriously. In the end as I have said before, I am the real winner because I get to enjoy all these amazing performers and performances almost every day— and I hope for some of them that is what matters most to them, and not an award that most people will forget they won within weeks of winning it.

Very glad to see names like Finola Hughes, Jane Elliot, Maura West, and Roger Howarth on there from GH. Finola not making the cut last year was a travesty. Also Jason Thompson and Kimberly McCullough for the Robin returns storyline. Hope all of them make the final cut when the final nominations come out. GO GH!!!

I wonder if voters felt Anna was out of line in her Reel last year (She submitted reeming Patrick for Cheating on Robin). If she submitted Anna vs Anna/Anna Begs fasion of the truth about Robin she should be in.

That’s too bad about Michael Muhney removing himself. He probably would have won but gotten totally ripped to shreds, so I understand his decision. It was best for his family, but it makes me really sad.

From reports we’ve heard Michael Muhney decided to take himself out of the competition. LOL does that go hand in hand with all the other ‘reports’ we’ve heard about Michael Muhney. We all know he deserved the nomination and we all know he deserved the win. With all the backstabbing that goes on in Daytime TV is it any wonder The Daytime Emmy Awards is to be televised on cable instead of Network TV who televises the 4 major SOAPS. Just ask Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Pete @CBS.

I happy for Kelly and Heather good luck to you both

where can I vote?

KATHERINE KELLY LANG, as Brooke Logan

The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS where can I vote?

will they be on T.V.AND WHEN IF SO

During NBC Nightly News.

Michael Muhney should be on the list for BEST ACTOR! The Daytime Emmy’s this year can kick rocks, I won’t be watching. Hopefully it’s picked up online and not by a major network. Waste of good TV programming. This is a travesty, and Steve Burton hasn’t had decent writing or acting since GH, and for him to be in any category and not MICHAEL IS A REAL DISAPPOINTMENT. I was baffled that Doug made the cut this year along with Steve-

ME TOO ,THERES NO WAY THOSE 2 SHOULD BE ON THIS LIST FROM Y&R ,ONLY SHARON PETER BILLY N MELISSA SHOULD BE, NO ONE ELSE ESPECIALLY NOT DD SB , AND MOST DIFF NOT GREG R.

Agree that Sharon Peter and Billy deserve their noms. But honestly MCE and JC in lead actress categories? Maybe supporting but even then they support no actor in a scene they are two of the most boring vanilla people to watch trying to act and are the soul reason I stopped watching Y&R regularly. I stopped watching altogether after they dumped MM and allowed a bs rumor to continue, that only served to hurt them HH and MM. Disgusting. I’ve met JFP and not impressed.

I’m with you, MM should have kept his name in the hat. I dont think you’ll have to boycott the awards show since sadly, no one as of yet has agreed to air it. Last years show was horrible BUT it was something. They just need to have Regis and Kelly host it in a theater with NO attempts on having someone sing or dance. Show longer reels from each actor nominated!

I cannot believe that Kassie Depaiva , Jerry verDorn, Florencia Lozano, and Cady McClain are not on this list. It is a flawed process – just a numbers game of which shows have the most submissions.

FLO SHOULD BE THERE,

I agree Florencia was robbed AGAIN of a nomination!

Without singling anyone out some of these nominations are a joke and will hopefully be weeded out. What I don’t understand is how any can be judged “best” based upon one episode in a years body of work.

Regarding MM, I would be more likely to believe that it is the show itself that provides nominees and each actor’s work “reels” to the judges. As such, they would never have included MM’s due to the controversy and their potential legal issues. I think that makes more sense than MM withdrawing his own nomination. BTW, who ever heard of Jamie as a young actor character on Y&R? Those pre-nom lists are longer than the entire cast credits for the shows lol. The opposite of short-listing!

Jamie was the kid that was bullied. He stayed with Michael and Lauren for a while and he was bullied by Fen and Summer. Remember Fen and him went at it on a roof?

oh right, thanks for reminding me! he was good, but for pete’s sake, he was on for a minute compared to some of these others…very suspect process these daytime emmys. The opposite of transparent!

Jason Thompson, Jason Thompson, Jason Thompson, Jason Thomoson one more time Jason Thompson!!! Last years loss was forgiven only because DD won and Doug had a suberb year as did the other nominees. This year if JT doesn’t win it will be a shame because his work has been beyond outstanding. His toughest competitor is Peter Bregman. Hopefully they both make it to final ballot! JT deserves it above and beyond!!

Could not agree more. Jason Thompson is OUTSTANDING as Patrick Drake and I agree he should have won last year too. While this category is full of talented people, there is no question in my mind that JT should be at the top of that list and taking home the much deserved and coveted award. I am anxious to see what scenes get submitted, there are so many to choose from with Robin’s return.

I think he (not that JT is asking LOL) should submit the scenes where Patrick is telling Sabrina about Britts baby and not being the father. He was amazing he pulled every heart string I have!!!! Also the scenes where Emma runs away. The pure terror on his face and the his speech pattern! I found my self screaming at the TV cursing at Britt. When Robin came back although mostly likely too short of a scenes. When everyone leaves the church and Patrick is alone in the church pew sobbing. He didn’t need to say anything on how devastated he was having to choose between two lady loves. Sorry if this off topic but I was curious as to what scenes you think he should submit?

I was thrilled to see Jessica Collins. the MM story I will stay away from though I know his work to be In the top. Lastly, It would sure be nice to see Robin Mattson here and Kind Shriner has never won.

THRILLED to see the fabulous Jess Walton recognized for her incredible work this past year with the death of Katherine storyline. Also so happy for Sharon Case, who always seems overlooked, but she always rises to the occasion, no matter how they end up writing her. One question: Where is Melody Thomas Scott on this list!?!

I agree totally. I’m sure Melody was sent in but someone on another show won out. I love her! I’m happy for everyone from Y&R !!

I feel the same about MTS and KKL of BB!! I feel like they are overlooked I remember a few years back I even googled both actress to see if they ever where nominated. It’s a shame because those two have spent all these on these shows doing some great work.

I’m sure he has better things to do than scroll down to see my comment but you were right Michael Muhney. Onward and upward!

I read they were having trouble finding a network to air them this year. The last two years they were on HLH, who is not carrying them this year. Without Michael Muhney at least being given a chance I will not be watching even if it is televised.

WON’T WATCH IT THIS YEAR,

So happy for darin, he wins for me hands down!!

My least favorite actors on AMC were the only ones nominated. These awards never make sense to me. They are clearly not based on acting skill.

The Daytime Emmy Awards are a joke. This list exposes the entire process. Shame on all of them.

I love james scott and greg Vaughn I hope they both win this year along with the rest of dool that’s nominated I hope they all win from dool

DAYS and Y&R are my two favorites. I’m happy for everyone on the list.

My early Predix with what they should submtited.

if we’re to go from press… it would seem that Billy Miller has it in the bag…
however, I love your read on James Scott’ EJ… those scenes where he had to adhere to the family creed… that a DiMera… kiss his ring finger… and speak out loud… how : Stefano’ offspring… abide by and forgo personal for thee family… was staggering…

LOL… woah! it was a feat to see EJ … let alone any actor who portray a DiMera be filmed doing as such. it was riveting stuff to envision… WOW… James Scott portrayal right then and their… was a punch to the gut… all his senses forboding… if you will….

if the panel…is truly caring about : it could go to either Billy Miller – James Scott – and have to throw in Jason Thompson…. knowing these three guys storyline… I just love their stuff… and couldn’t venture… right now… a clear winner

blows me away.

as for best actress: man… knowing Finola Hughes… double dip… as Anna vs. Anna… could really throw a wrench in lo Eileen Davidson’ chance… and I love ED. so… It’s up in the air.. I just have to hope… that the panel… goes with how… day in and day out… how ED had to muster up… BIG – blow out – ballistic – ballsy – believe . you name it… Kristen behaved it ALL.

so… I love FH’ Anna and ED’ Kristen….

the best supporting actor… I think… for… whomever the 5 nominess… is the toughest category….

Greg Vaughan, DOOL – Eric
Eric Martsolf, DOOL – Brady
Blake Berris, DOOL – Nick
Wally Kurth, DOOL – Justin ( I love this man – he’s thee man… and was match for match. blow for blow. on even par and keel with James Scott, EJ) his defense of Sami… and standing up for his son…and tirades with Adrienne… were outa this world!

i’d give the 5th spot… to Bradford Anderson… who has every right to win… for his angst and couldn’t fathom Maxie’ behavior.. and his being a father… was so emotional…

I know it would appear , DAYS is my fav. serial… but the quality of cast.. is riveting to behold… every cast member is delivering their “A” game… and is culminating… in DAYS triumphing.. a deserving.. 2nd Emmy for best show… 2 years in a row!

I hope these guys make the cut.

too tough a category to call…. they are all deserving… in the supporting best male… Yikes! imagine if Lucas and Victor… were in… it’d be a clean sweep for DAYS men…

nominations any way….

Fan salute… Days is ON!

I hope days of our lives win for best soap opera it totally has to win this year

It pays to watch DAYS!!!

DOOL Rules Daytime!

Days of OUR Lives : repeat! 2 years in a row… best show

“It just has to”

couldn’t agree more

I think even though Sean carrigan just came into y&r should be nominated, good Michael mulhney is not included. He should be in jail. He’s disgusting.

Jail for what? What do you know that the rest of us don’t? No charges, just rumors.
He has a lot of female friends that he would not have at all if any of these rumors were true.

How is he disgusting? I’m sorry, have you seen any lawsuits or arrest warrants or victim statements?

We don’t know facts, just gossip. I wish he was on the list. He has talent, and before the gossip many thought (and still do) think so. Certain others shouldn’t be, but I no longer watch Y&R- and I haven’t watched Daytime Emmy’s since late 90s and the year 2000 when we actually had many soaps to choose from. Hopefully it won’t be televised but air through Hulu or YouTube for those who desire to see it.

Yeah there are other good actors who deserve a shot. Forget MM he’s a waste

No God giving human being is ever a waste. No matter what you think about him personally, tha man can act circles around 3/4′ s of the cast of Y&R!

Kelly Monaco! She deserves an Emmy! I love her work 😀

He doesn’t deserve to be included on the daytime emmys. Poor jfp. She’s getting bad rap.

What’s in your coffee??

Everyone is all for MM, glad he was fired.

I honestly do not know how to respond to your statement, “Poor JFP” are you kidding me? Jill is this you under a disguised name? She has mutilated all soaps she has ever had control over. I believe in MM and he is not charged with anything. Just sayin!

Thank you Toscanti, Since JFP, the show has gone from bad to worse. MM and BM were the only one’s keeping it going. Now what, it has lost over 500,000 viewers in the month of FEB only.

I agree with Sherwood 100%. You say Michael Muhney opted to leave his name off the Ballot. The question is did he do it because he was forced to by Y&R, possibly in an agreement in order that they pay up his contract? Or maybe he couldn’t stand the idea of attending with his former co-workers & all the bad jives he’d get from some of them. Also MM worked hard to improve the Emmy process for all the actors. This is a travesty. I was hoping that Billy Miller & MM would share a joint Emmy. Now I hope Billy wins. Also I hope Katherine Kelly Lang wins as Best Actress. She’s been consistent all these years & never wins. Last year she chose to be in the Best Supporting Actress catagory so as not to complete with Susan Flanery who was leaving the show & wasn’t even able to win that. She’s a lovely, thoughtful person.

Where the heck is Kathleen Gati as Dr. Obrecht from GH? For that matter, Anders Hove as Faison? I thought they did some of the best work on GH this year, hands down.

Knowing the humble man Anders seems to be from the few interviews he’s done, he probably didn’t submit his name, because he was only on the show for a short period of time, and didn’t wanna take away from the other actors. But his work was certainly worthy of recognition, and Kathleen Gati was gold in every scene she was in.

Very disappointing to see both of these talents go unrecognized!

I agree wholeheartedly, brilliant performances by both K.Gati and A Hove.

Absolutely!!! Particularly glaring is the Kathleen Gati omission….she is a true thespian, taking the smallest bit of material and turning it into acting gold!!!! Equally fascinating in both dramatic and comedic moments…how on earth could she have been overlooked????

Just deserts…. Mr. Michael Muhney

FAN recognition…. far and away…. filled up the whole show

Genoa City is not: without Adam

Days being shut out of best supporting actress is the only category with which I take issue. Unbelievable.

Carol Burnett Talks About Being a Superfan of ‘All My Children’ on ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’

In a heartfelt reunion, of sorts, the one and only Carol Burnett appeared on Monday March 25th episode of Live with Kelly and Mark.

Burnett had first met Kelly Ripa (Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo) back when they all appeared on All My Children together. Carol played Verla Grubbs first in 1983 and then again in the 90’s.

Host Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) noted to Burnett that “we go back a long time”. She also described Burnett’s character of Verla Grubbs, “extraordinary in every way.”

Carol’s love for All My Children is well-documented, hence legendary soap creator, Agnes Nixon, created the role of Verla for Burnett.

Speaking on how her passion for All My Children began, Carol told Kelly and Mark, “It started with my kids. They would watch at noon. I said, ‘What are you guys doing?’ I sat down and I started to watch and I got hooked!”

When Carol’s family decided to travel through Europe during one summer, the comedic legend recalled thinking, “How am I going to last if I don’t know what’s going on in Pine Valley?” She revealed she had a friend, “who sent me a telegram to the (different hotels) on Fridays to bring me up to date.”

In a hilarious moment from the segment, Carol recalled receiving a late night telegram while in Lake Cuomo when there was a knock at her hotel room door from the hotel manager who was shaking.

Carol related what it said, “Erica is still in a coma. Mark slipped again and ran away from rehab.” As Kelly and Mark broke into laughter, Burnett continued, “Chuck has learned that Donna is carrying his baby, who was once a hooker.”

Check out Carol explaining how she became an AMC Superfan below.

Malachy McCourt, ‘Ryan’s Hope’ and ‘All My Children’ Actor, Dead at 92

If you watched Ryan’s Hope through its 14-year-run, you know that Kevin the bartender became a beloved “member’ of the Ryan clan on the defunct ABC daytime drama series. The character of Kevin MacGuiness became so loved by the fans because of the actor who portrayed him, Malachy McCourt.

Sadly, according to his wife Diana McCourt to The New York Times, Malachy passed away on Monday from a heart condition and battling cancer. The actor was 92-years-old.

Playing Kevin on Ryan’s Hope was not much of a stretch for McCourt, because in his lifetime, he was the owner of 1950s Irish pub Malachy’s on Third Avenue in Manhattan. Known as one of the city’s great story-tellers, patrons from longshoremen to the actor Richard Harris would stop in and talk all things Irish with . On Ryan’s Hope, Kevin was best friends to “Ryan’s Bar” owner, Johnny Ryan (Bernie Barrow) and he tried to keep Delia (Ilene Kristen) on the straight and narrow.

In his soap opera career, McCourt also was widely-known for his role of Father Clarence McCourt on All My Children especially come Christmastime. Was Clarence, actually St. Nick? That was always the proverbial question. McCourt also appeared on the New York soaps: One Life To Live, Search For Tomorrow and Another World. Other roles included: Devil’s Own, Brewster’s Millions, The Molly Maguires, and Starman, to name

Later in 2006, Malachy ran for governor of the state of New York as a Green Party candidate. He tackled social issues of the time including being an advocate for gay and lesbian groups to march in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

McCourt’s childhood was recounted within his brother Frank McCourt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir Angela’s Ashes, which detailed their mother’s attempt to raise the four of their surviving seven children in poverty in Limerick, Ireland. Later, Malachy wrote his own memoirs: 1998’s Monk Swimming, and 2000’s Singing My Him Song.

Malachy is survived by his aforementioned wife, Diana, daughter Siobhan McCourt; sons Malachy Jr., Conor and Cormac; stepdaughter Nina Galin; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
