So happy for Mishael Morgan and Bryton E. James. Disappointed that Sharon Case, Eileen Davidson, Amelia Heinle and Thad Luckinbill were snubbed.

Travesty not that it matters because MW has this one for lead but how did Heather Tom get nominated ? Drake Hogestyn left off he did some of his best work from what little I saw last year!

I can’t remember Heather Tom doing anything

AT, the very least : for intelligence ; high brow ; and just CLASS – ALL – around

Best Male Lead : Jon Lindstrom @GH
Best Male supporting : Max Gail @GH

Best Female Lead : Marci Miller @DAYS
Best Female Supporting : Kassie DePaiva @DAYS

AND : Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series – Thaao Penghlis @DAYS

Come on ! respectively, PROP this Genre and standing ovation time

WISH LIST

GO Maura, Jon, Max, & Chloe! I have renewed faith in the selection process, since that Parking Lot hire was not nominated.

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES – PRE NOM’s

Sharon Case, as Sharon Newman The Young and the Restless, CBS
Eileen Davidson, as Ashley Abbott The Young and the Restless, CBS
Amelia Heinle, as Victoria Newman The Young and the Restless, CBS
Finola Hughes, as Anna Devane General Hospital, ABC
Michelle Stafford, as Nina Reeves General Hospital, ABC

MADE THE CUT :

Heather Tom, as Katie Logan The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS
Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, as Steffy Forrester The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS
Marci Miller, as Abigail Deveraux DiMera Days of Our Lives, NBC
Maura West, as Ava Jerome General Hospital, ABC
Laura Wright, as Carly Corinthos General Hospital, ABC

I WOULD say: this is thee MOST – glaring – omission (s)

wanting to utter in the same breath… joke of a category…

sans ; Marci Miller – AND – Maura west . CLEARLY the ONLY frontrunners

what on earth? what reason …do

Laura Wright , Heather Tom , and even Jacqueline Wood make the cut ????

this is bad

HELLO ? ALL of the Y&R Ladies stood atop . they REACHED

I can’t wait to see their ??? emmy reels to better assess
@CARLY GH … I get it… she’s still drugged out from Ferncliff.. sounds almost like when Michael EAston Dr. Finn was nominated… the stench is back

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES -PRE NOM’s

Scott Clifton, as Liam Spencer The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS
Drake Hogestyn, as John Black Days of Our Lives, NBC
Stephen Nichols, as Steve “Patch” Johnson Days of Our Lives, NBC
Eric Braeden, as Victor Newman The Young and the Restless, CBS
Jason Thompson, as Billy Abbott The Young and the Restless, CBS

Billy Flynn, as Chad DiMera Days of Our Lives, NBC
Tyler Christopher, as Stefan DiMera Days of Our Lives, NBC
Jon Lindstrom, as Ryan/Kevin Collins General Hospital, ABC
Maurice Benard, as Sonny Corinthos General Hospital, ABC
Peter Bergman, as Jack Abbott The Young and the Restless, CBS

blech! if his emmy reel shows him riding on the coattails of Max Gail… argh! I was so hoping this was a PARTY

PARTAY – because it’s time to celebrate this genre

who wouldn’t have LOVED to see @Drake Hogetstyn as a lead actor nominee !!!

if the decks aren’t stacked … LOL a lot of my posts @GH are not even making it on as a thread… of all the EIGHT dullard… it is the choking stranglehold… Frank Valentini seems to think @GH audience still cares about.

Sonny / Carly / Michael / Finn / Franco / Peter / Jason / Sam. “dullard”

that leaves the VERY QUESTIONABLE REELS submitted by .. “boring” Sonny / Carly

I am so ecstatic for Mr. Tyler Christopher.. to be nominated BEST LEAD ACTOR. because he IS. IN TWO SHOWS !!! I’m certain his scenes are with Billy Flynn and/or Marci Miller.. AS these THREE are all pre-nom AND made the cut to top tier

sincere CONGRATS to all three.. even along with ; kate Mansi. shows just how solid @DAYS top shelved these standout

hey lets’ go another step further… Thaao Penghlis made top shelf.. nominated as guest star. my man.

OKAY you get it – Ron Carlivati had it ALL… The DiMera Mystique TOOK

I want to nod acknowledge salute and LOVE Tyler AND Billy . Jon Lindstrom @GH is thee man of the hour… for 365 day salute I’d go with Billy Flynn, easily

this is a tough category… because , notably Peter Bergman handed in stellar.

I have nothing to say about Maurice Benard… what 18-49 woman demographic would be interested and even challenged to tune in to the Corinthos’ @GH.

so there you have it… I am so hoping that Billy Flynn name is called… would fall over , because his work is always their… “the Dream that never dies” Tyler Christopher.. or; am ready for Jon Lindstrom to get behind the veteran stalwart AND CHEER my heart out… okay … should Peter Bergman really need to WIN ??? another one.. okay.. ho hum. he’s deserving. forget Maurice Benard

salute to @Drake Hogestyn @DAYS… who should have been in Maurice slot

Patrick, I just want to say thank you for your hard work and analysis here in this thread as well as your continued invaluable presence at this site. I find myself agreeing with you so often, particularly in your assessment of the bewildering nominations for Benard and Wright. I have often detailed my disdain for these omnipresent characters/storylines, resulting in the long-ago death of the heart of GH. To see these actors nominated on occasion is disturbing, especially when there are others much more deserving who should fill these nomination slots.

PS: If there is a God, Flynn should walk away with a win! Take care.

Drake should have been nominated.

Some were nominated who were prenominated? Huh?

Should be “weren’t prenominated”.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES – PRE NOM’s

Sal Stowers, as Lani Price Days of Our Lives, NBC
Kirsten Storms, as Maxie Jones General Hospital, ABC
Tamara Braun, as Dr. Kim Nero General Hospital, ABC
Camryn Grimes, as Mariah Copeland The Young and the Restless, CB

MADE THE CUT –

Kassie DePaiva, as Eve Donovan Days of Our Lives, NBC
Linsey Godfrey, as Sarah Horton Days of Our Lives, NBC
Martha Madison, as Belle Black Days of Our Lives, NBC
Vernee Watson, as Stella Henry General Hospital, ABC
Beth Maitland, as Traci Abbott The Young and the Restless, CBS
Mishael Morgan, as Hilary Curtis The Young and the Restless, CBS

RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE – ROBBED

@Sal Stowers, as Lani @DAYS !!!! Thank God @DAYS has 2 huge presence of color. that being father and daughter . Abe Carver and Lani. PLUS Lamon Archer as Eli. WOW

as I’ve posted… I still will not call this… and let this be the soap annul 2019 hold on

A LOT OF GH fans will call this as well : robbed

Kirsten Storms, as Maxie @GH

meh! it just shows how much Nathan is truly missed.. watching Maxie , NOW w/Peter LEAD.. whilst Peter August sits stands dead eyes… is just too much to bear. he did not make the cut as well…. they are now and forever one of @GH most boring coupling

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES – PrE NOM’s

Aaron D. Spears, as Justin Barber The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS
Darin Brooks, as Wyatt Spencer The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS
Christopher Sean, as Paul Narita Days of Our Lives, NBC
Wes Ramsey, as Peter August General Hospital, ABC
Thad Luckinbill, as JT Hellstrom The Young and the Restless, CBS

MADE THE CUT –

Eric Martsolf, as Brady Black Days of Our Lives, NBC
Greg Rikaart, as Leo Stark Days of Our Lives, NBC
Dominic Zamprogna, as Dante Falconeri General Hospital, ABC
Max Gail, as Mike Corbin General Hospital, ABC
Bryton James, as Devon Hamilton The Young and the Restless, CBS

the JOKE is on US : Devon .. along with Michael @GH are thee two worst actors in daytime.

it’s a damned shame @Christoher Sean. LOVE the GUY!

This is the first year I can remember that “DOOL” was the leader in nominations. I am excited for the entire cast and crew. The Lead Actress category is a great group of women. It would be great to see Marci Miller win, but Maura West has been drawing raves all year. Laura Wright is always a home run anytime she is on the screen. Although I am a huge fan of Heather Tom’s, I think she was more “Supporting” than “Lead.”

For Best Actor, it is sad that Billy Flynn and Tyler Christopher are now both off the show. I would love to see Billy Flynn win because I think he has been robbed every year. Hi scenes with Marci Miller during the mental illness made the sometimes hard to digest storyline…believable. It is sad Tyler’s character of Stefan did not show any redeeming qualities until recently. When a character is a villain, the writers need to show the audience a few reasons to like the character, especially when the character is sleeping with his mentally ill sister-in-law.

For Supporting Actress, I would love to see Kassie DePaiva win for Eve. Again, I would like to see her character reel in some of the meanness, and let her find her way back to Brady. I am still adjusting to Linsey Godfrey being such a center piece on the show in such a short period of time. Her “relationship” with Eric seems rushed and forced. The writers are making Rex look like an idiot. If Kassie does not win, how great would it be to see Beth Maitland win as Tracy on “Y&R.”

For Supporting Actor…Max Gail. Enough said.

I hope we get to see the show on TV this year. Maybe Lifetime or Hallmark would be a good choice? Just a thought.

Congrats to all the nominees. I, however find it funny that Vernee Watson gets nominated for Supporting when she won Guest Performer last year for the same role. Guest is supposed to be for a limited ARC. Not saying she isn’t deserving, but Rules are Rules.

So happy for @MauriceBenard for his nomination. Heck @MaxGail both of them had us going but very proud of my #Days family for all their excellence in their performances. Thanks Michael!

congrats to everyone from GH, love you guys, you make my day every time your on.

OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES – PRE NOM’s

Adain Bradley, as Xander Avant The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS
Noah Alexander Gerry, as Charlie Ashby The Young and the Restless, CBS
Tristan Lake Leabu, as Reed Hellstrom The Young and the Restless, CBS

MADE THE CUT –

Lucas Adams, as Tripp Dalton Days of Our Lives, NBC
Kyler Pettis, as Theo Carver Days of Our Lives, NBC
Garren Stitt, as Oscar Nero General Hospital, ABC
William Lipton, as Cameron Webber General Hospital, ABC
Zach Tinker, as Fenmore Baldwin The Young and the Restless, CBS

did not realize their were only 8 in this category.

shoot the shoe in… seems to be my “Oscar”. i’d standing ovation this underling
@Cameron has taken this show AND made himself known… out the door

so hasn’t Lucas Adams @DAYS , as Tripp… dynamite presence . the writers NEED to give him more material… especially since Chloe is now gone… and Ciera is busy with Ben.

I am so STOKED .. AND loving Abe and Lexie son.. THEO !!!! will not be forgotten . @Salem @DAYS is not the same… Abe AND Lani are missing Valerie AND Theo. two huge loss’

for sentiment .. i’d go with Kyler Pettis, Theo @DAYS
evenmoreso… because he’s so talented… Lucas Adams, Tripp @DAYS

Garren Stitt, Oscar @GH.. because I love this threesome Drew / Kim / Oscar. THE BEST

Well…The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences STILL HASN’T NOMINATED JOSEPH MASCOLO FOR A LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD. WOW JUST WRONG!!!

What movies were Mascolo in?

I’m thrilled for all the GH nominations. Very happy to see Jon Lindstrom get his first ever nomination for his work on GH, well deserved and long overdue. Glad to see Maurice Benard back on the list for the first time since 2012. I know that will make some people angry. Max Gail of course for his phenomenal job this past year. He’s as close to a sure fire winner as you can get, in my view.

Maura West and Laura Wright are always deserving. Happy for the kids getting their first nominations, Eden McCoy, Garren Stitt and William Lipton.

No complaints, other than I’m shocked to see Kirsten Storms didn’t get nominated for Supporting Actress after being on the pre-nom list. If she submitted the episodes surrounding Nathan’s death, it’s mind boggling how she could have been left out. But yet DOOL got three actresses nominated in that category. The voting is very bizarre sometimes.

Congrats to all the nominees from all the shows! I’ll be watching on May 3rd, proudly rooting for all my GH nominees.

Good for Days I dont watch anything else but I think Days has the edge here. Then again what do it know?Good to see Eve back.Missing Marci.Leave poor Ben alone. He deserves a break.I do hope that Claire gets what is coming to her.Very good show never boring.I love Days and always will.My best friend will sit with me once in awhile to watch it.I have to fill her in as to what is going on since she cannot be here every single day.Oh ya she loved Marci too.Just saying good luck to Days ..

Sharon case is a wonderful actress, she should have be nominated for an Emmy, this is bs lol.

No Eileen Davidson?? She gave some of her best work before she left Y&R. Maura West is a well deserved nomination.

In my opinion Melody Thomas Scott, Amelia Heinlie and Sharon Case should have been nominated as well.

Gee, why not add Gina T. to that goofy group. They should be nominated alright, but I just don’t know what you would give to dumb, dumb, dumber and dumbest. My apologies to you, if you were being serious.

Yes Violet, I am serious. As I said in my opinion.

But where is Genie Francis??

I doubt Genie submitted her name for consideration this year. She was off screen for most of 2018. But for next year’s awards, I would certainly hope to see her name included. Now that’s being given some good material again, and reminding everyone why she’s one of the best.

What an incredible year of acting on GH. Kudos to the writing and directing teams for giving these performers a chance to shine! The voters are going to have difficult choices because in GH alone there are multiple actors in several categories that seem truly deserving of an Emmy. I hope to see some of the following actors win: Maura, Laura, Max, Maurice, Jon, Chloe, and Eden. I wish some of them could share the award! What a thrill it must be for Jon Lindstrom to be nominated in the Lead Actor after finally being bright back to the forefront.

Please put the awards show back on T.V.I think the veiwers(for all these years)deserve to be able to see it.

Wait, what about Robert Scott Wilson as Ben in Days of our Lives, by far the best young actor in daytime, where is his nom?

As long as Max Gail wins and Cheryl Underwood is in no way involved with the event, I’m happy!

But other thoughts…

1: I am probably in the minority but Ava Smava, Maura over acts too much!

2:Minority #2, I thought Maurice was really good this year but my vote goes to Jon Lindstrom!

3: Hands down, Chloe Lanier!

4: Alex Trebek. Yes, he is in our hearts but he really is THE best example of what a game show host should be!

5: WORST game show host, talk show host and human goes to Alec Baldwin!

Timmm
I am with you all the way. Re your #3 choice. A lot of people are liking Kirsten Storms, but as much as we hated Nelle, Chloe acted her little ass off, no doubt about that. My choice out of your #1 would have to be Marci Miller. I mean, how many parts did she have to play, besides her own? I guess I am in your Ava/Maura minority group. She’s had lots of years practicing her poor me, take whatever you want persona, Max Gail proved he still has the chops, and deserves a medal with his Emmy.
Alex Trebeck is a legend, and Baldwin is an ass. There are no words for Cheryl Underwood, and what I have is better left unsaid, except I am glad to never have been a male guest on The Talk.

Sheryl Underwood is a nice caring lady, she is funny and she loves to watch daytime soaps. Kudos to Sheryl, for being a daytime fan and love her on the talk.

@Timmm…That’s the only award I’d deign to give to “NEVER BALDWIN!” But definitely, yes, to Alex Trebek! Always the gentleman and consummate professional, he’s the classiest game show host ever!

Congratulations Days of Our Lives!!!

I watch Days, Y&R, and B&B. Here’s who I think should win:

Outstanding Drama Series
Days of Our Lives

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series
Marci Miller, Days of our Lives

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series
Peter Bergman, The Young and the Restless
or
Billy Flynn, Days of our Lives

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
Mishael Morgan, The Young and the Restless

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
Eric Martsolf, Days of our Lives
or
Greg Rikaart, Days of our Lives

Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series
Victoria Konefal, Days of our Lives

Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series
Lucas Adams, Days of our Lives

Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series
Wayne Brady, The Bold and the Beautiful
or
Kate Mansi, Days of our Lives

Mono
Sorry, but have to say I have really liked Wayne Brady for years, but after he’s played this terrible part, it bothers me just seeing his commercial. So does that mean he acted his part good?

I think their are a lot of people who work hard in daytime but yet I see the same names !! Might want to rethink that ! Four soaps left good luck to all of them but frankly I have seen the same faces for years

some definite snubs. where is Drake Hogestyn,Amelia Heinle,Thad Luckinbill,Kyrsten Storms

Days should win for outstanding writing.

The one and only worth an award;
is for-
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

Max Gail, (Mike) General Hospital

(( All the others are the Same ‘Ole ..
been there done that too many times.

Usually I don’t predict a winner until I’ve seen the reels but I’ll just recap each category…

Lead Actor: I love Peter, but I don’t see him winning. Maurice won’t win either…so it’s down to Jon, Billy & Tyler.

Lead Actress: I don’t see Laura, Heather, or Jacqueline winning but I see potential in Maura and Marci. If Maura West’s reel was over the top (like last year) then it’s definitely gonna be Marci. The Emmys love double roles or three in her case.

Supporting Actor: I don’t see Dominick or Greg winning but I have a funny feeling about Bryton’s reel. I see him winning. I like Max Gail and Eric but something’s telling me it Bryton.

Supporting Actress: It’s a no for Lindsey, Martha, Vernee, and Beth, but I’m betting all my coins on Kassie and Mishael.

Younger Actor: I know Garrett’s Oscar has cancer, but remember when Christel Khalils Lily had cancer and they gave the award to Julie Berman. I see this situation being the same. I don’t see William or Garrett or Zach winning but I see hope for Lucas or Kyler.

Younger Actress: I’m probably in the minority but I see Victoria Konefal winning especially since I know what her reels are. Chloe and Eden didn’t do anything for me. Haley and Olivia did good to me.

Writing: Days hands down

Directing: IDK yet probably B&B or Days

Drama: Days

Those include this Thursday episodes of Access Hollywood, E! News, Entertainment Tonight and Extra. Over the past few years, NATAS has often let the syndicated entertainment news program handle the duties of revealing the top actor and actress in a daytime drama series, but we shall see which categories the shows unveil this year.

As previously announced, the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be presented in ceremonies on Friday night, June 7th on CBS (8 – 10 PM, ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+*.

The awards will be back at The Bonaventure hotel in downtown Los Angeles, where (the delayed due to the actors and writers strike) 50th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were held back in December of 2023.

Look for the full nominations to be posted right here at Michael Fairman TV and you can follow along on Friday on the Daytime Emmys social platforms as well.

The Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts since 1974, honoring work in a variety of categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, culinary, and legal/courtroom programs. In 2021, NATAS and the Television Academy jointly announced plans to realign the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards to be organized by content genre, as opposed to program airtime.

The 51st Daytime Emmy Nominations will honor the work and achievement from the calendar year of 2023.
