I’m stunned that Y&R won Outstanding Drama Series, Writing & Directing. Mal Young’s tenure was a train-wreck, and if the actual quality of the show was assessed for these award shows, there’s no way it would have won. While there were some standout episodes, like Hilary’s death and the ones submitted, the rest of the year failed to live up to what Y&R could be under strong leadership.

As for the winners, I really thought this would be Peter Bergman’s year. He’s almost always a nominee, but rarely a winner. Billy Flynn also did amazing work this year, and deserves recognition for his endless talents.

And what about Marci Miller?! She was overlooked again in what should have been a slam-dunk year for her. Don’t get me wrong, Jacqui Wood is a great actress, but Marci carried an entire storyline and did phenomenal work this year.

I expected Max Gail would win, and boy is it ever deserved. Vernee’s win was more surprising, because Stella is a peripheral character at best. But my prediction for next year’s younger actor categories will go to Eden McCoy and Garren Stitt. Oscar’s death, which is playing out on screen now, has really given them a chance to shine. They’re two of the finest young actors in daytime history.

Tried to watch on FB, but it wanted me to login, create a password or something and I didn’t want to do that. Disappointed I couldn’t watch.

Surprised Days didn’t win much. Congrats to Kyler.

Congratulations to Jacqui!!!

A little surprised Y&R won for best show, but those episodes were good. It’s not on the basis of a whole year.

Well, I’m sure all the “Sonny Haters” will jump all over his win BUT, he had some good material this past year with Max Gail. They both won and I’m cool with that.

Younger actress should have gone to Chloe Lanier. She was really good. BUT, we kept it in the family and Haley won! She was good as Kiki.

Young actor? Well, its a year to early. Next year Oscar [Twin brother] or Cameron will bring the gold to GH!

My main gripe is for female supporting actress. WTF! Vernee Watson? I was shocked she won last year and pissed this year. Now, she is a good actress but what story or scene she did stood out? NONE! Mishael should have won, hands down! Or even Beth. She is always good as Tracy!

Y&R owes their wins to Thad and Amelia. the biggest shocker to me was Jacqueline winning lead actress,i thought Maura was a shoo in. overall this was not a good show,boring at times

What a wonderful night for GH, winning 5 of 7 acting awards! Max Gail winning was the highlight for me, and it was so well deserved. The way he portrayed the progression of Alzheimer’s from the beginning to now with Mike away at the retirement home was an acting master class. I haven’t been this thrilled to see someone win an Emmy since Genie Francis finally won her first in 2007.

I was very happy to see Maurice Benard back in the win column after 16 years. It was long overdue. I honestly thought Jon Lindstrom would win, but Maurice was a pleasant surprise. They gave him a story that allowed him to be vulnerable, emotionally raw, and show a totally different side of Sonny, and it paid off. His critics can no longer say “All he ever does is the mob stuff.”

Congrats to all the winners. As an awards show, between the online feed going out for 10 minutes early in the show, to misspelled graphics, to rows upon rows of empty seats shown on camera all night, it was really embarrassing and sad to watch at times. It’s really a shame how far the standards have fallen compared to what the Daytime Emmys used to be, when they’d pack venues like Radio City Music Hall. I mean, at least hire some seat fillers, for god’s sake.

My comment is positive did not watch but read about it can only say Hayley Erin deserved it she came from being a disastrous actress to a fine one she worked on her craft cared enough to improve and not phone it in. Congrats well deserved!!
