Amanda Setton Cast As GH’s New Brook Lynn Ashton
Former One Life to Live alum, Amanda Setton (Ex-Kimberly) is about to make her debut on General Hospital in the role of Ned (Wally Kurth)and Lois’ (formerly B&B’s Rena Sofer) daughter, Brook Lynn Ashton!
The news of the recast came via TV Line, and Setton is set to make her on-screen debut next Monday on the November 18th episode of the ABC soap.
In story, it looks like Ned and his current wife, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) welcome Brook Lynn back to Port Charles. The role haas previously been played by Brooke Radding and Adrianne Leon.
In addition to her work as the former Mrs. Clint Buchanan in Llanview, (Kimberly started as a Las Vegas stripper who came to Llanview to help her best friend, Stacy Moraso played by Crystal Hunt) Setton has had numerous primetime roles including: Hawaii Five-0, The Crazy Ones, The Mindy Project, and Gossip Girl.
News of the return of Brook Lynn to GH comes on the heels of the return of Nikolas Cassadine now played by actor, Marcus Coloma.
What do you think of the return of Brook Lynn means for the characters of Port Charles? Who might be her romantic interest? Share your thoughts via the comment section below
Will she move into the Quartermaine mansion? GH needs more Quartermaines!
Why, oh why? The cast needs to be trimmed: PETER, Kristina, Jordan, Hayden, & more.
No arguments on a trimming, but any day we welcome back a Quartermaine is a good day in my book.
Leon was pretty good in the role, but with good writing, Seton has the acting chops to knock it out of the park.
The show needs a ‘Tracy’///let her and Olivia be the new Tracy and Monica tho its hard to replicate the original!!!
love this ! I have followed all her work, loved her on gossip girl. great news GH !
As far as Setton’s role on “Gossip Girl,” I agree she was very fine, but that was just a great show all the way around! Creative, fun and juicy…On the negative side, the last thing GH needs is another former “One Lifer” crashing the canvas! Additionally, I COULDN’T care less about the character of “Brook Lynn,” recast, or otherwise! (P.S. Incidentally, please note my capitalized proper portion of this oft-incorrectly stated phrase….it happens so frequently at this website that it makes me want to toss English language textbooks at all the offenders…of which there are many, though not necessarily you, Brian!)
This could be more airtime for my favorite Monica. I’ve always said whenever Monica is on, it’s always a good day.
Always glad to hear when a Quartermaine returns to PC!
Congratulations to Amanda Setton. She was wonderful as the devious, ever scheming Kimberly on One Life to Live. I’m sure she will do a great job on GH.
I never really cared for Stacey, but loved Kim esp when she was sassy to the gay couple (who, love them though I did, needed a comic foil to wrench them from their melodrama). Hopefully she brings that sass to Port Charles and mixes it with Quartermaine privilege… and yes, Tracey is reborn! 🙂
Rivalry between Ava and Brook Lynn over Nikolas? Lest I forget–Three women at each others’ throats at the Q mansion—-Monica and Olivia are as much as I can digest over the latter’s lasagne dish!! —superfluous–revolving door galore.
When will Peter ( with the iffy new hair-do) Grow horns and poof-out of PC? What has happened to Maxie’s sharp sense of smelling a rat?—oh, wait; she fell for that other guy—the Australian weirdo, Zach. Lulu’s is irritating and Carly ( love Laura Wright) walks around with a halo hovering over her being, hesitating wether it should make a final descent on her head or take a hike.
Oh, mamma mia!!
They dont know what to do with Olivia. One problem is Ned isnt on much. Maybe with Brook Lynn back that will change. I think the guy you were thinking about was Levi that Maxie hooked up with before. He super sucked! Hey, just like Peter! She has horrible taste in men!
Hi, T—long time, no see.
Yeah, you’re right about Olivia—-I guess that’s why the PTB had thought to make her run Charlie’s—-then, abruptly changed the route leading to Franco and Kim. I refuse to call Franco Drew—can’t stand this storyline. Round and round it goes.
Yes, Levi. Is Zach his real name? Why did I say Zach? Who knows.
Maxie is another strange bird these days—-I like Peter even less than Levi. She had found the right guy in Nathan, but he had to be killed off. Is he really dead? LOL.
Happy Thanksgiving, T….soon❤️God bless!!
Good to hear from you again. Olivia has money. Why cant she open a pizzeria somewhere else? I guess because of the budget they probably wouldnt build another set. They already have the Metro, Charlies, Kelly’s and Sonnys, whatever it is.
You know whats weird about Franco, he has Drew’s memories but he talks like a soldier in boot camp! Just because he has new memories, he should still walk and talk like Franco!
Nathan was good for Maxie but I guess they cut him from the show? Then they bring in an exact look a like in to play Chase. I like him better and I think him and Willow make a good couple. Maxie should end up with Spinelli like Jason should end up with Carly!
C, you and your family enjoy Thanksgiving and embrace all that you have!
Oh Celia, it’s two months since your post and the show is still suffering from Peter-itis. Can’t bear the man! And don’t get me started on his succession of unflattering hair-morphs. I don’t like the BrookLynn recast either and can only hope she and Peter fall in like and their goodbye song can be the Eagles’ “ALREADY GONE”.
Just in time for Thanksgiving pizza!
I actually cannot BELIEVE they have recasted With someone else…In two separate runs Adrianne Leon’s Emmy nominated portrayal of BLA was effervescent! Sweet, spunky, talented soul that always had a tear in her eye…I do not understand the need to recast her will always be a mystery…She is my Brook Lynn
AMEN to the last comment regarding Adrianne Leon….obviously a little late!!

‘The Talk’ Renewed For 15th and Final Season to End in December; Does Its Cancellation Make Room for ‘The Gates’?
Things just got very interesting over at CBS daytime with the announcement today that The Talk is going to end its run on the network after its 15th season, and that season looks to be shortened as the series will come to its conclusion in December of 2024.
In a joint statement, Amy Reisenbach, President, CBS Entertainment and David Stapf, President, CBS Studio, shared, “The Talk broke new ground when it launched 14 years ago by returning daytime talk to CBS with a refreshing and award-winning format. Throughout the years, it has been a key program on CBS’ top rated daytime line-up as it brought timely, important and entertaining topics and discussions into living rooms around the globe.”
Reisenback and Stapf added, “It goes without saying that hosting and producing a year-round talk show is no easy task, and we express our sincere gratitude to our amazing hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood, our Executive Producer/Showrunner Rob Crabbe and the hardworking producing team and crew.
Giving props to those who co-hosted or worked on the show through the years including: Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen Moonves, Carrie Ann Inaba Leah Ramimi, Marissa Janet Winokur, Holly Robinson Peete, Eve, Aisha Tyler, and Sharon Osbourne, the joint statement added, “We also want to acknowledge our former show hosts and colleagues who contributed throughout the seasons. We truly appreciate the skill, creativity, and dedication everyone involved brought to the show every day. And of course, we thank the numerous guests who appeared, and the millions of viewers who tuned in daily. For the final season, we plan to celebrate the show and give it the proper sendoff it deserves when it concludes in December 2024.”
While no firm decision or announcement has been given at this time, it seems most likely that The Talk’s time slot could be given to the new soap opera in development The Gates from CBS Studio Ventures and from longtime soap opera writer. Michele Val Jean. As previously reported, The Gates features the lives of a wealthy Black family who reside in a posh, gated community.
The Talk was originally the brainchild of Sara Gilbert, who had developed the show when it launched back 2010 and it replaced the beloved As the World Turns which went off the air after 54 years when CBS canceled it.
So, what do you think of The Talk being canceled? Will this make room for The Gates to begin to air in its spot beginning in 2025? Share your reactions to the news via the comment section.
