Alright our dearest All My Children and One Life to Live fans, the time is upon us! We are t-minus less than 24 hours and counting till the first episodes of the revivals of All My Children and One Life to Live are posted for the first time on Monday, April 29th!

So with several questions still looming and perhaps not clear to our loyal, faithful, and amazing On-Air On-Soaps fans, we want to give you a quick Cliff Notes version (remember when we used those handy books to cheat on our knowledge of what Shakespeare was trying to say in written tests in English Lit in High School or College?) of the important facts of when and how to see  all-new episodes of AMC and OLTL, so you don’t miss a beat, and can get the full digital experience of watching these beloved shows return!  It’s their homecoming, and you should be there with open arms! So here is our round-up of facts:

* All New Episodes of AMC and OLTL will be uploaded Monday-Thursday at 5AMEST/2AMPST time to Hulu.com.  The new episodes of AMC will live on the All My Children page and the new episodes of OLTL will live on the One Life to Live page.   Just because the episodes are uploaded each day at 5AM, does not mean you have to watch it then.  They are up for your viewing pleasure at any time during your day that you can log on to www.hulu.com.  Select “All My Children” or “One Life to Live” from the list of shows offered on the Hulu platform, or type the show name in the search bar and look for AMC and OLTL, so you can be caught up with other fans of the show before the next episode is posted the following early morning.

*New Episodes of AMC and OLTL will be available for FREE for ten days on Hulu! So count the first upload day as one and you have nine more days to catch the episode for free in case you missed it,  or simply want to watch it again.

* Hulu Plus is another way which you can be connected to new episodes of AMC and OLTL anytime, anywhere, at a cost of $7.99 a month.  With Hulu Plus you can watch new episodes through devices that display online shows on your television, such as Apple TV, Roku, Wii or Xbox gaming systems and some Blu Ray DVD players.  If you are not sure you want to pay the fee for Hulu Plus, you can click here to try a 1-week FREE trial!

*You  can also download episodes from Apple’s iTunes store using your personal computer or Apple TV.   You can also watch AMC and OLTL on apps from iPhones, iPads, etc. On Apple’s iTunes, ad-free versions of All My Children and One Life to Live will be 99¢ per episode (or $10 for a month of shows), for playback on computers, iPads, iPhones and Apple TV.

* Many long time fans are resistant to watching their soap on the computer- but with Hulu Plus and as stated above, most newer computers have the ability to run a cable from your desktop or laptop to be able to hook it up to your television! That way you can sit on your couch, spread out, grab some popcorn, and watch it as per usual!  Make sure you check with the company or store if you purchase a new computer to ensure you re able you to view the show on your TV set.

*Canadian viewers will get to see new-episodes of All My Children and One Life to Live on cable channel FX Canada starting Monday April 29th with AMC airing at 12Noon and OLTL airing at 12:30PM, so they are caught up on new episodes along with their U.S counterparts.

* AMC and OLTL Previews and Recaps are back at On-Air On-Soaps! Over the weekend we have reconfigured our weekly Soap Updates page adding back previews of new episode teasers for All My Children and One Life to Live.  In addition, starting next weekend, we will bring back our weekly recaps of all six soap operas currently airing, so you can comment and sound off on story points and likes and dislikes!

* More All My Children and More One Life to Live Recap Shows – those shows will be the fifth episode of the week for AMC and OLTL.   The first one will debut on the same platforms as your daily episodes of AMC and OLTL:  Hulu, HuluPlus and iTunes starting this Friday, May 3rd.  “More” offers a behind-the-scenes look, lifestyle segments, and interviews, with cast members from both shows.

*Important Rules For The Road:  You can have your coffee with AMC and OLTL, you can have your lunch with AMC and OLTL, you can have a cocktail and watch what goes down in Pine Valley and Llanview, you can tuck yourself into bed and watch it before you nod off for the night.  The luxury of the new viewing schedule is,  you don’t have to consistently try to figure out if you taped or DVR’d the episode, if you missed the replay on SOAPnet, or if you missed the original daily showing!

We hope our Cliff Notes will help you enjoy the experience of seeing brand new episodes of All My Children and One Life to Live!  Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns! And, if you will be part of soap opera history tomorrow!

I’m so looking forward to All My Children and One Life to Live’s return! I have missed these shows, and was extremely disappointed when they were taken off the air. I wish these shows huge success in the near future!

Thanks so much, Michael, for all the great information.

Can’t wait for the return of both, just hope they haven’t changed too much to attract the new, younger viewers. 🙂

It’s ANYTIME!
Looking forward to the return of Pine Valley and Llanview!!!

AND no more interuptions due to weather , news breaks or Presidential stuff! I think I’m gonna like this. : )

I can’t wait…is this the same for the first episodes? I had heard that the first shows won’t be avaliable to 12:00 p.m. EST on Monday? I am now confused. CAN”T WAIT to watch them though no matter how long it takes to figure this whole thing out 🙂

Apparently it’s 5 AM EST now-I know of people that are staying up late on the West Coast tonight to catch the premiere. But if you want to sleep in tomorrow, you can-the shows will be there waiting for you!

Thanks for the info, Michael. So glad we had the chance to meet on Tuesday! Look forward to seeing you again!

I will be up at 0400 tomorrow to watch the first OLTL and AMC…probably won’t do that every morning…but definitely tomorrow. I Just hope I can sleep tonight….SO EXCITED!!!

I can barely contain myself. I am completely thrilled.

I will MOST DEF. be watching AMC!!! I can’t wait. I’ve missed this show so much.

I can’t wait! I watch almost most everything on my computer anyway and we will never have to worry about our shows being interrupted but some lame special report that wasn’t all that special to break into my show!

I think what will happen will be–

When the new to the internet people get to HuLu they will not know how to use the features as; full screen —
To make the soap ”’full screen”’ and they watch it in the small box lol

They won’t won’t know how to ”pause” or fast forward, use the closed captioning, and all the features to view..
((will they?

I am so looking forward to the return of One Life to Live. I watched it from beginning to its end on ABC over the years, and now I get to see it return again! Tomorrow cannot come fast enough!

If you search on-line there are offerings of ”a month free” of HuLu Plus..
(twp ladies I work with, last week got the free month)
If you bought a Roku you will get a month or two free (depending) of HuLu Plus with it..

I’ll certainly be waiting with bated breath for these shows.

I was wondering about the times..thanks!

I am so very happy to see my favorite soaps again!!!!

my heart is pounding so hard right now just thinking about tomorrow………..

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!

I STILL CAN NOT BELIEVE THESE ARE ACTUALLY BACK.

The beauty of being retired and a night owl is 2am Pacific is just right for me to see the new AMC! 🙂 My pizza and cheap wine party is at the ready!

I saw the first episode of OLTL this morning.. All I have to say I really enjoyed seeing
Llanview and all the people that live there! AWESOME! And AMC children comes on after OLTL! I will watch AMC later! Now, when I see the cast picture of OLTL I have framed , I don’t feel sad anymore! You can watch them anytime you want, there is no
specific time. You will love it! It made me laugh , and it made me happy, seeing the
characters I missed a lot! VIKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Etc……… Happy watching to all!

Just watched the first episodes of AMC and OLTL online at Hulu.com. Outstanding. Loved it. So glad they are back and can hardly wait for tomorrow’s episodes. Wow!

Are there going to be new episodes Mon. – Fri. or one new episode per week?

I’m just thrilled that my show, OLTL, is back and it’s exciting fans. All our favorite stars are back also. It’s memorable reuniting Bo and Nora and a new Matthew, a gorgeous Destiny and great music and it’s hip. A few new actors are also to look for. BUT, the ending of the first show is fabulous and a shocker…stay tuned…

So happy for the people who have the internet at home but I don’t. Guess the only way I’ll watch again is if I move to Canada! So disappointed!

Carol Burnett Talks About Being a Superfan of ‘All My Children’ on ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’

In a heartfelt reunion, of sorts, the one and only Carol Burnett appeared on Monday March 25th episode of Live with Kelly and Mark.

Burnett had first met Kelly Ripa (Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo) back when they all appeared on All My Children together. Carol played Verla Grubbs first in 1983 and then again in the 90’s.

Host Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) noted to Burnett that “we go back a long time”. She also described Burnett’s character of Verla Grubbs, “extraordinary in every way.”

Carol’s love for All My Children is well-documented, hence legendary soap creator, Agnes Nixon, created the role of Verla for Burnett.

Speaking on how her passion for All My Children began, Carol told Kelly and Mark, “It started with my kids. They would watch at noon. I said, ‘What are you guys doing?’ I sat down and I started to watch and I got hooked!”

When Carol’s family decided to travel through Europe during one summer, the comedic legend recalled thinking, “How am I going to last if I don’t know what’s going on in Pine Valley?” She revealed she had a friend, “who sent me a telegram to the (different hotels) on Fridays to bring me up to date.”

In a hilarious moment from the segment, Carol recalled receiving a late night telegram while in Lake Cuomo when there was a knock at her hotel room door from the hotel manager who was shaking.

Carol related what it said, “Erica is still in a coma. Mark slipped again and ran away from rehab.” As Kelly and Mark broke into laughter, Burnett continued, “Chuck has learned that Donna is carrying his baby, who was once a hooker.”

Check out Carol explaining how she became an AMC Superfan below.

Now, let us know, did you enjoy Carol as Verla Grubbs? What show do you consider yourself a Superfan of? Tell us in the comment section.

Malachy McCourt, ‘Ryan’s Hope’ and ‘All My Children’ Actor, Dead at 92

If you watched Ryan’s Hope through its 14-year-run, you know that Kevin the bartender became a beloved “member’ of the Ryan clan on the defunct ABC daytime drama series. The character of Kevin MacGuiness became so loved by the fans because of the actor who portrayed him, Malachy McCourt.

Sadly, according to his wife Diana McCourt to The New York Times, Malachy passed away on Monday from a heart condition and battling cancer. The actor was 92-years-old.

Playing Kevin on Ryan’s Hope was not much of a stretch for McCourt, because in his lifetime, he was the owner of 1950s Irish pub Malachy’s on Third Avenue in Manhattan. Known as one of the city’s great story-tellers, patrons from longshoremen to the actor Richard Harris would stop in and talk all things Irish with . On Ryan’s Hope, Kevin was best friends to “Ryan’s Bar” owner, Johnny Ryan (Bernie Barrow) and he tried to keep Delia (Ilene Kristen) on the straight and narrow.

In his soap opera career, McCourt also was widely-known for his role of Father Clarence McCourt on All My Children especially come Christmastime. Was Clarence, actually St. Nick? That was always the proverbial question. McCourt also appeared on the New York soaps: One Life To Live, Search For Tomorrow and Another World. Other roles included: Devil’s Own, Brewster’s Millions, The Molly Maguires, and Starman, to name

Later in 2006, Malachy ran for governor of the state of New York as a Green Party candidate. He tackled social issues of the time including being an advocate for gay and lesbian groups to march in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

McCourt’s childhood was recounted within his brother Frank McCourt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir Angela’s Ashes, which detailed their mother’s attempt to raise the four of their surviving seven children in poverty in Limerick, Ireland. Later, Malachy wrote his own memoirs: 1998’s Monk Swimming, and 2000’s Singing My Him Song.

Malachy is survived by his aforementioned wife, Diana, daughter Siobhan McCourt; sons Malachy Jr., Conor and Cormac; stepdaughter Nina Galin; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Share you remembrances and condolences for Malachy McCourt via the comment section, but first check out this scene from a 1983 episode of “Ryan’s Hope” featuring the late actor with Ilene Kristen.
