Anna to the Rescue As Finola Hughes Returns To General Hospital

Courtesy/ABC

If you caught the end of Monday’s episode of General Hospital, just as Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck) was ramping up her efforts to threaten Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) on the pier, she is stopped in her tracks by none other than Anna Devane!  And with that, it signals the return of all-time GH favorite and powerhouse actress, Finola Hughes, who has been off the ABC daytime drama series for an extended period of time.

With the return of the mighty Hughes comes some intriguing romantic storypoints in that: the man who proposed to Anna before she left Port Charles, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), has found out that he is a father to Hayden’s (Rebecca Budig) child.  Previously, he thought the child had died, but Hayden lied and thus the two have moved from icy towards each other, to growing closer.

What will happen when Anna finds out what has gone in Port Charles while she was away?

ABC and GH released this week’s promo which teases a moment where Anna announces she has returned while Finn and Hayden are together.  You can check that out below.

Now that Finola is back, what are your hopes for Anna in story? Finding the bad guys and finding love with Finn, or will her story take another twist and turn that no one saw coming? Share your thoughts via the comment section.

No sexual tension. Just blah—-Finn comes alive with Hayden. Anna is blah, blah and some more blah. Period.
Finn and Hayden leave me anticipating —I hold my breath each time their eyes lock.
Anna is truly too old—-not only for Finn, but also to play these scenes with younger guys. If anyone is “affronted” by my ageist remark, sobet…do not care. . I guess it depends on the viwer. She is too numbing for me. Snore!!

Meh!

FYI ageism is passe.

Now I read that Anna will tear into Hayden for how she deceived Finn, etc, but what about her leaving for months HERSELF? Sorry about my blabbing. Oh, before I go, just wonder if you think as I do that Nina is just playing a game with old Valentin, and she knows exactly what his role in the Sasha deception was

Hello again, Violet! It’s been awhile, hope all is well with you!!!! As usual, you have not minced words, which I happen to love! Like yourself, I believe in calling a spade a spade, and for the life of me, I cannot understand why every time one of us makes an honest observation regarding the so-called mature years of certain soap characters, it must be immediately greeted with accusations of ageism or, in many cases, anti-female sentiment. The eyes don’t lie…stating the obvious is just that…why are we supposed to be stifled just because some feel the need to denigrate our opinions??? A lot of these older women/younger men hookups are patently absurd and they deserve every bit of derision that we dish out. Such GH “rose-colored” May-December relationships are also frequently unrealistic, as they almost always are portrayed as “true love,” and not just some cougar of a certain age using a junior male as a mattress-mate or said guy looking to cash-in on a short term fling with a desperate older, well-off femme, which is what often tends to happen in “real life!” To feature such a mismatched couple on GH just the once, or maybe even letting lightning strike twice, would be one thing, but it’s become the norm, whilst all but ignoring the same dynamic between an older man and younger female. (And quite frankly, no matter the roles being played, I still maintain that most of these couplings, true life or otherwise, often come down to “mommy” or “daddy” issues on the part of the junior partner, regardless of their sex…There, I’ve said it! Lol….) Later, Violet!

Hi, Violet,
I wanted to let you know thst I did respond to you, days ago.
While my comments to you and Shay and su0000 were approved ( as per my inbox) , I find it confounding that I do not see them here.
I didn’t want you to think I was ignoring you.
Stay well❤️

Been there, done that, many times over, too, CeeCee! Hence I do understand…I actually replied to you twice before sending a third Thanksgiving pleasantry to you—sans any elaboration—-just to acknowledge your kind thoughts! Glad you finally received my thanks….

Anna was going to literally never see Robin again when Robin was 9. She wanted to give Robin away to go in Witness Protection with Duke. She was a terrible mother.

I do feel for Anna…even though I love her romantic history with Scorpio and would love to see them reunite once again as a “supercouple,” he does seem a lot older than her these days. (Perhaps because he actually is: Tristan Rogers is in his 70’s, despite being still-sexy and charming with an’ enduring appeal to ladies of all ages….) and if you recall, we often wrote of how mismatched Anna seemed with a markedly-mature appearing Duke, who though quite distinguished and ever the nattily-attired gentleman, seemed well-worn beyond his years. (I guess that’s what time in a Turkish prison does to one…) And lest we forget the icky travesty of a grief-stricken Anna bedding the wizened Luke Spencer, which was a total turn-off! As far as I’m concerned, there really hasn’t been a prime candidate for Anna’s affections for too long…she needs someone who is seemingly not too old and not too young, but just right! And at present, there isn’t anyone on the GH canvas who fills that role…I’ve long suggested she would be great with Frisco Jones, and I loved her with Dr. Noah Drake! (Together with the latter, they made the coolest grandparents Port Charles has ever seen!) In some ways, both Anna and the lovely Laura are in the same boat…..they are too youthful and vibrant to be looking after old geysers, yet neither has the sort of personality to go shamelessly hooking up with multiple toy boys ala Alexis and Ava!!! I feel for them! Later, mia amica

I loved her on AMC as both Anna and Alex…..now, very disappointing, superfluous character.
Wish you Happy Thanksgiving, cara…..Blessings!!❤️

Likewise to you and yours, CeeCee! It is THAT time of the year once again…God Bless!

Hi, Shaybelle….
As you can see my reply to you was edited. Three quarters of the comment I posted is missing. I won’t even attempt to re-write—too busy for this inconvenience. It’s the same old, same old—-❤️

P.S. Meant “geezer,” not “geyser!” Not sure what happened there, but I certainly wasn’t referring to “Old Faithful!”

Anna needs a man her age= Scorpio.
Finn needs kids Anna is a grandma ..

Finn is closer to Anna’s age. They’re about seven years apart. Scorpio is almost 14 years older than Anna. (As far as the actor’s real ages go). And a person can be a grandparent in their 40s if they have kids in their 20s…means nothing.

hi rebeca 🙂
Thing is;
Anna has a daughter that has a teenage daughter.

that is too much life-wise age for Finn who just found out he’s a father.
Anns is a grandma and Finn is just starting to be a father.
There’s a whole lot of difference of life between them.
ahaa I wouldn’t want to be with a grandpa!

I have no edit button to add this;
It makes little difference-
Hayden and daughter were brought in, mainly, to be with Finn..
Anna is out..

Hey Su! Maybe TPTB WILL ultimately put Anna and Robert together. Here’s hoping!

Update: Hayden is leaving the show, (just sigened a short stay contract) and in story she leaves Port Charles again so it’s a moot point. Word is she’s in danger and Nicolas advises her to leave…and he leaves Violet with Finn for Violet’s safety…

Hey, su… I wrote to Michael about the vanishing edit button…and did find it (when it’s there it’s easy to find) but now it’s not there again. Maybe he’ll jump in on this and explain why it’s not consistently there…

As for the grandparent thing, I really dont see it making a difference. Age-wise, as said, Anna and Finn are not far apart. Yes, Anna has a daughter and granddaughter but if a person loves kids and loves being with them, makes no difference. Violet wouldnt be living with them…probably shared custody like Lulu and Valentine.

Wouldnt change anything…Anna and Finn are at the same “stage of life” regardless. It’s not like one is 30 years younger, just starting a career and is a new, young parent. The addition of Violet would just be another person for Anna to love…another person for Violet to love.

Not saying Anna and Finn will stay together, but I think IF he leaves it’ll only be if he realizes he stills loves Hayden.

That was a nice moment and good to see Finola back. BUT, why did Anna have to come to Charlotte’s rescue anyway? We as soap fans are asked to accept a lot with these speed bumps in plot lines. Here is a big one. So, the new Nicholas must be a crook and a dumb one at that! He breaks out Cassandra, gives her a change of cloths, throws out threats as he is driving all while her hands or feet are not detained. What a shocker that she escaped! VERY bad speed bump in the plot! NuNicholas can go back to Greek! He isnt Tyler, it will suck when he is reunited with his “Family!” Oh, and please dont make Jax look stupid. I hope the hell he washes his hands and distances himself from Little Nicky! Let Joss move in!

Jupiter-Christmas! Anna has been gone far too long this time. Maybe they needed time to develop the whole “Finn-finally-finds-out-he-has-a-kid” story with Hayden, but this huge time-gap has left the momentum that Anna and Finn had going as a couple fizzle out. I love Finola, Michael and Rebecca as actors, but the characters of Anna and Finn are what I wanted as end-game. This long hiatus has damped how much I care. Here’s hoping they have a great story planned to get me caring again.

Unfortunately, that seems to be a current trend on GH; starting stories, stalling them midway and then starting them back up after all the steam-build-up has evaporated. I feel they did or will do the same thing with the Shiloh story. They had him piss off everyone in town, building what could have been a great, cast encompassing who-killed-Shiloh story, only to waste his death on two characters in quick scenes that weren’t worthy of such a villain. If they wait until the February sweeps and bring him back, claiming he was never dead, all the bad things he did to everyone in town will have been forgotten; the impact lessened. They missed the opportunity to spread the wealth with a who dunnit.

Now with this Ann-Finn-Hayden story, we’re suppose to remember all the romance and commitment Anna and Finn had to each other. Sorry, five months’ absence is a lifetime on a soap. We’ve only gotten to see how much Hayden cares for Fin and his longing looks at her don’t exactly speak of his love for Anna. Just saying…

One of the reasons Anna’s return was delayed is likely do to the switch in head writers. Same reason why Nikolas’ resurrection was hinted at for a while, but didn’t happen until Dan O’Connor took over as co-head writer. The new team now gets to decide what (If anything) Anna learned from Alex.

As for the Shiloh mess, yes, his demise seemed rushed, as there was plenty of story to play out. Negative viewer feedback about the character, plus an option window in CRM’s contract brought his character to a quick demise.

Thanks for letting me know, Steve. It makes sense. If that is what happened, the writer transition was the bumpiest I’ve experienced in a while. Hope it doesn’t happen again. LOL!

Coby Ryan McLaughlin (Shiloh) was promised a three year deal but was told they were “going in another direction” and let go. He was gracious about it…heard him in an interview, but I think that sucks when they blindide an actor like that. And I do agree it was because of viewer complaints. We won’t have any shows left soon and with all the criticism of almost every character/story it’s not surprising.

There was plenty of story left to tell with Shiloh…and Coby is such a good actor. I was hoping (before things got unredeemable) that they’d find a way to make him a shades of gray character…lol…and I don’t mean a Fifty Shades of…I mean not black or white but a better guy with some bad guy tendencies…or a bad guy misunderstood; dunno. The possibilities were there but squashed.

rebecca1, so true.

Rodd, you are so right. I loved seeing the Liz and Franco reception today again, but was thinking how they have just shut down that SL, and wondered if I’d even care when they ever get back to it. Out of sight, out of mind, as the saying goes.

I’m so relief Anna is back I’ve missed her so much, and it was great she’s coming to Charlotte rescue, hope it plays out that way with today’s episode, as long as its not Jason who is looking for Cassandra . for some reason the show always makes him the hero of even storyline he’s not really a part of. welcome back Finola.

Welcome Back. Please, oh please, I beg, do not use this opportunity to give the Parking Lot FLOP more airtime. He can’t act. Juilliard, my …

Glad Finola Hughes is back!

Is it just me, or does Anna look sick, or pale, or something?

toni
Funny, you aren’t the only one that noticed that.Too much vacation maybe.

Yes, she does! Hope she’s not ill.

Haven’t beeen on this site in possibly a year and the “some things never change” is alive and well. Yes, there is a difference between thinking someone looks older and/or not well from “too old.” Yep, it IS ageism, and sexism, to say Finola is “too old” to be fighting crime or (gasp!) worse, to be in a relationahip with a man (gasp again!) seven years younger than her! Michael Easton is 53…Finola just turned sixty. I’m guessing in the show there isnt a huge age gap either. Yes, Michael looks young for his age, much younger than her…but …

…if people are in love…in both fiction and real life…they love the person…his/her heart, mind…the connection, rapport they feel. So while it’s natural for us to notice the disparity in appearance, that doesn’t mean one is “too old” but rather one looks older than…and that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be together! As for the sexism angle…should a 60 year old woman who’s been trained her whole life suddenly just not do her job anymore because her face is thin, lined and is showing age? Funny; Robert Scorpio at 73 was still a WSB agent til the writers decided he should be let go from the WSB (which I thought was insulting to the character)..but is now still fighting crime and would still pull a gun if he had to. Should he not because he’s older? Who says when people should “stop?” Other people? Until and if a person can’t do their job, drive, make love…ANYTHING…there’s is no “too old.” There’s just judgement from people and really, who gives a crap what anyone thinks? Why should we?

After all that, I, too, noticed Finola’s appearance and I agree…she looked different. Wan, her face too thin, her eyes sunken. To me, she looks ill. I hope she’s not but that’s how she looked to me. She’s very thin…has been for a long time and now she looks even thinner. Maybe she had some work done and on an already thin person if anything was pulled, tucked whatever…just…dunno…she looked gaunt.

I don’t like Anna and Finn together; didn’t like them from the beginning. I thought, at the time, Finn and Alexis were much better together. Their banter was fun and they seemed to have a shared empathy…their addiction meetings having brought them together with an ability to understand each other’s struggles…

Never liked Hayden and wasn’t happy about the character’s return and yet, this little girl they’ve brought on to play Finn and Hayden’s daughter has had them in some adorable family scenes together…I’m kinda liking them.

As for the impeachment pre-empting soaps? Yeah; it’s annoying and always frustrating when you can’t watch a favorite show. But the reactions here? Wow! Everyone’s up in arms about republicans vs dems..there’s no trust, lottsa hatred, accusations…mistrust of the news…and yet…

,,,we’re being given an opportunity to see history play out right before our eyes, important American history that kids will be taught about years from now in their history classes, but people are upset that this important part of our REAL lives is being brought into our homes. Yes it could be just on certain cable news stations…not everyone has cable. This might compel certain people to watch, who might not have been able to.

The irony is I bet a lot of the actors who are the characters in our soaps are glued to their TVs watching the impeachment process because they’re involved and care about what’s happening in our country and are not happy with the corruption in our own backyard.

I’ll bet that many who think the “Dems” are doing this…for this asinine chant that’ been said over and over…”because they lost and just want to get him out” don’t even know what impeachment is or WHY Trump is being impeached! Don’t even know why what he’s accused of or why it’s not legal…not “presidential”…amy look the other way when his hotels make money from dignataries who he “encourages” to stay at his establishments…

Those who think the charges are fabricated…who think the “Dems” are making things up…well, if you actually took the time to watch the trial and heard testimony from respected people who have have no party motivation but are coming forward to testify that they, too, think Trump has misued the office of the presidency, has committed a crime…then you would actually have the “real” news..not the bias of either Fox OR CNN…but rather be able to make up your own mind when you hear from people coming forwrd…not the summary presented on your favorite station or from your friends, family. If Trump actually was removed from office, you wouldn’t be able to say it was lies made up by the “Dems” becaues you’d be hearing the witnesses and testimonies yourselves! But I’m not unrealistic; too many in the Senate who can’t stand Trump will stick by him and not let him lose…because they’re afraid of losing the votes for themselves when they run for their posts again. It’s all about self; not the country. They’re afraid of losing an election or their jobs…

But you’d rather watch a soap…and then vote for President of the United States without being informed other than the bias you hear, which effects us all. And again, would I RATHER not miss an episode of a soap? Yeah; I like to escape into the soap “world” too. But that’s not the world I live in, so I get the importance of the trials and why there’s an effort being made to televise history-in-the-making about a man who sits in the office that effects my actual life.

Well, hey there Bec! I agree with you about Finn and Anna–they feel mismatched to me but it has nothing do with the seven year age difference. I love both characters but not as a romantic pairing. I like Hyaden better this time around, love her playing the protective big sister to Lizzy. And she has an amazing chemistry with Finn.
I also agree that these impeachment proceedings are crucial to our system of checks and balances. Maybe I am just a left-leaning-snowflake, but I kind of find it disturbing we have a president who engages in bribery with a foreign country in order to garner political advantages. I also think it’s disturbing that he engages in witness intimidation by a Tweet when that WITNESS IS IN THE PROCESS OF TESTIFYING!!! By all accounts, the former ambassador to the Ukraine is an upstanding, ethical, courageous patriot. With Nixon we had a president who said,”I am not a crook.” With Trump we have a president who basically says,”Yeah, I broke the law, but who cares? ” This is why it is imperative that we hold this man accountable for his actions. America is no place for demagoguery! And Trump’s sycophants need to snap out of their trance–this is not the Republican party, this is a cult and it certainly is not evocative of America’s values.

Harry, as far as Iam concerned, you’ve got my vote! I try not to get into anything political, because I can’t speak of it well, but I sure know the difference between right and wrong, and a flim-flam man when I see one!

Harry…I love real snowflakes ever since I was little girl. Sorry that their individual uniqueness and delight they can bring from skiers or kid and more, has become a derogatory term used by some. I’m with you on the importance of watching the impeachment hearings live, real time, and unedited. Then you have to vote as well. Civic duty!!!

As for Anna and Finn…okay for a while until she kept taking these long WSB trips. Prefer Anna with Robert. Am liking Hayden as Finn’s love interest better…they just seem to have more electricity together. But she will also have her own baggage to explain…again. But then this is soaps. Nothing is ever easy or stays happy-eve- after. But we can hope.

@Harry…As a lifelong Republican, I’m here to tell you that those of the political opposition don’t get to define who or what constitutes being of the GOP persuasion….it’s actually none of their darn business to decide such matters! (Especially since you seem to be of the opinion that your oft-stated “hero,” McCain, is supposedly the epitome of what YOU think a Republican should be…Well, guess again…neither he, nor fellow RINO, “Pierre Delecto,” gave anything more than lip service to the wishes and needs of their required voting base in order for them to attain the office of president, which is why BOTH of them failed miserably at that most basic of tasks, and quite thankfully never landed in the Oval Office!) On the other hand, President Donald J. Trump did the exact opposite of his arrogant GOP standard bearer predecessors, which is precisely the reason he succeeded whilst the other two famously failed. And he is still doing what we put him there to do, despite the never-ending negative efforts to derail his ambitious pro-American agenda by the media, Democrats and notable backstabbing members of his own party who will never get the same sort of support that Trump enjoys. By the way, in terms of approval ratings amongst the GOP faithful, this president consistently rates in the 90% range, a feat only previously approached by the much-revered Ronald Reagan. According to the all-important RNC tracking polls, Trump actually ranks higher and has maintained his approval level on a more lengthy and regular basis than even our much-beloved “Gipper” did in his heyday. (The latest one places him at a whopping 95%!!) Hence as far as we Republicans go. most of us are very pleased and content with our president heading in to his 2020 re-election campaign, thank you very much!

Huh?

Lewd, not lead❤️

And with that tantalizing tidbit, I can see exactly what has happened yet again, CeeCeeGirl! You have been moderated out of existence…must have been a really good reply there! At any rate, same for moi…and all I did was ask for some clarification as to subjects which we are allowed to discuss here after Violet and I were chewed out for being off-topic regarding our own posts on British TV programs. As usual, it would seem that that ever growing list of arbitrary rules only applies to some, but not to all here.

Well, Shaybelle, once again the ruling class monopolizes the airwaves—– There was nothing untoward with my comment. While some of us are chastized for “criticizing”? actors/actresses, ’tis perfectly fine to bash fellow-posters.
The biases are as pregnant as ever.
I have a life, mon amie—a full one at that–so…..
It doesn’t matter—-let’s leave it to the illuminati on these sites to enlighten everyone else—-we are merely peasants.
I know you love Finola—and, so do I….since AMC, but she has lost her mojo—-and her frail look accentuates the obvious change. Perhaps she has been ill? I just feel that her acrobatic actions go against her appearance. And, regardless of age ( my aunt is five years older than her husband), she and Finn do not heads turn. She’s boring. He’s boring. Together, they offer the viewer boring pie. Unfortunately, Hayden is leaving….I honestly hope Finn’s and Anna’s relationship evaporates. There is a new Quartermaine in town? I missed her introduction….you know, the girl that we saw in the pub. Who is she? Well, she’s perfect for Finn. I’m glad Violet is in his life—-cute little angel—but, he still needs a vibrant, spicy woman to ignite that je-ne-sais-quoi spark in his life.
Ciao, cara….

@CeeCee……Thank you for your reply! For the record, I wrote a post featuring a heartfelt apology to Finola Hughes, since as you acknowledged, I do admire both the actress and her iconic Anna, as well as their “classic look,” and I would never wish for her to think otherwise! Alas, it was not approved, probably because I also wondered aloud why the double standard was employed in allowing off-topic subjects on this thread…in particular those for which I’ve already been personally admonished. As you state, the biases are alive, well and omnipresent….we truly do exist in a parallel universe where up is down and down is up…..the same goes for right and wrong…all sense of fairness has been tossed out the window. Oh well, if we are deemed to be amongst the ranks of “Les Croquants,” at least we are in excellent company! In terms of the “girl in the pub,” I believe it might be Ned’s daughter, Brook Lynn Ashton? She is now being played by a very pretty brunette actress from surprise, surprise, OLTL..Is that the one to whom you are referring??? Quite frankly, I rarely watch GH these days, so I’m only guessing..Like yourself, I have too much else to do, a full life, as you so accurately put it. Hence I am hardly one of those being mocked as distraught over the pre-emption of our daily soaps in favor of the latest Dem travesty…neither interests me, especially the latter. Perhaps if this weren’t the umpteenth time the party of opposition has cried wolf since President Trump won the White House, then there might be a valid reason to tune-in..However, as an informed citizen, I do catch the evening highlights in an intelligent and appropriate venue, and as always, there is no “there there!’ Just more of the same old swamp blather…thanks, but no thanks! Later, mia amica!

Great post, Shay…
Yes…I remember now —Kimberly was Stacy’ s friend on OLTL. She looked so familian, but couldn’t place her.
I don’t think I’ve ever met Ned’s daughter. I didn’t even know he had a daughter. LOL. Regardless, I like her. GH does need a pick-me up, right now—-Maxie is not Maxie anymore—-the writers have turned this once feisty girl into a mouse….all about Peter and his hair-cut…
Les Croquants? Good one—unfortunately, there aren’t enough of us—those of a similar mind-set are too timid to crush through the “veneer”, as flimsy as it may be. However, I am reminded of another force du temp in Mme Defarge, the ringleader, and the rest of the tricoteuses, bowing and kowtowing.
La Vita e’ bella, e la devi goder—Life is beautiful and must be enjoyed—
I still haven’t watched today’s episode—term papers are in– pile on my desk.
You don’t watch DAYS, but Shay, the show has skipped a year—I am soooo trying to follow it—but, I’ve skipped so many episodes, I don’t know if it’s even worth my time. So much has changed—characters killed off, others in jail, the usual fare of kidnapped babies—so dark and depressing —I feel for Fiona, my grandmother. DOOL is her favorite show—has watched since its inception. She calls me on a daily basis complaining. LOL.
Hope to talk soon, Shaybelle—Buonanotte!! ❤️

Thank you, CeeCee! As far as BrookLynn Ashton goes, I never was acquainted with the original character, as her presence in Port Charles was during one of my extended viewing absences from GH…I just know her name, that she is Ned’s daughter, and as such, I have zero interest in her, despite her now being recast with an actress I very much enjoyed on “Gossip Girl.” It does sound as though there are some fireworks planned in the Q-clan to coincide with both Thanksgiving and Tracey’s much-heralded return visit. Hence…stay tuned! As for your gran’s angst over the ongoing debacles at DOOL, I can understand her point of view…I’ve long felt the same way about the constant destruction of GH from its previously winning mix of characters and storylines. And speaking of feeling for daytime audiences, in general, I perfectly “get” their outrage over being subjected to that free anti-Trump publicity-fest for the Democrat party that the networks have provided in place of people’s beloved soaps. These enduring shows are important to so many, especially those who are elderly and/or housebound for other reasons, and they have an absolute right to complain that their daily source of comfort and joy has been pre-empted for the likes of yet another left-wing witch hunt targeting our president. In fact, if you look at the thread regarding this issue, you will see that there has been overwhelming disapproval expressed during the past weeks of its existence…For me, that just demonstrates that individuals from many different walks of life and yes, even ideological persuasions, are thoroughly disgusted by this three year+ long campaign to hound Donald Trump, his family, friends, associates, political allies and supporters, and they’ve quite simply had enough of it. Of course, as you will also see, the usual dissenting voices who fancy themselves as intellectually superior to us “deplorables” have attempted to change the conversation in their direction with their typically arrogant and condescending remarks aimed at the vast majority who have stated their displeasure for this process by portraying them as ignorant, clueless, uninformed, uneducated, etc. (Sounds familiar, eh???) A certain hardcore Biden apologist even went so far as to term my example of the perpetual gaffe-machine’s proud and well-publicized admission of his own quid pro quo with the Ukraine as “fake news.” Yeah, right…as if there weren’t reputable investigative journalists (Think Peter Schweizer, in particular) who’ve already painstakingly established and documented the financial and political shenanigans of Biden and his debauched reprobate of a son in that geographical region— and beyond. The notion that it is confirmed for all to hear coming from the actual horse’s mouth means nothing to those who lob claims of inaccuracy at this messenger with their own set of “alternative facts” in order to distract others from the truth. Is it any wonder then, as you have observed, that so many individuals who clearly see the light have chosen not to put their own persons into the liberal line of fire when all the “resistance” has with which to arm themselves is derision and dismissive language aimed at those of us who’ve been fed up to the back teeth with all of their scheming and outright lies??? The only reason I even bother to strive to offer a counterbalance is because someone has to challenge all the misinformation that is so freely and frequently posted here, plus, I figure if Trump can fight the left’s daily, never-ending slings and arrows on behalf of those who voted for him, then the least I can do is show my own support by defending and championing the man who gave up so much of his own wonderful life in order to do the same for the American people. It really is as simple as that, CeeCeeGirl! Later, mia amica..enjoy reading those term paper!!!!

Hey, Shaybelle—-
As yourself, I’ve not had the time to truly “get into” any televion programming —–my time is better spent with my family.
Nonetheless, I still love the couple of soaps left, albeit, I don’t care for DOOL’s fantastical transformation….I’m neither into the different plots nor the eerie characters—-I want to smack Princess Gina, for one….
but, I do hope Brook Lynn ( was she born in Brookyn? LOL) isn’t merely visiting. The actress has a way about her…..I find myself waiting for her next impertinent remark. She reminds me of myself. Ha!!
Well, we can sit here and discuss politics and all its nuances until the cows come home. But, we need to realize that propaganda only works for the ignorant and the uninformed. My pet-peeve is listening to those, everywhere I turn, discuss politics when he/ she has no clue of what is and what is not—-one cannot even try to discuss politics without knowing, not only American Hustory, but also global History. Therefore, whatever food is freely given will be chewed, ingested and digested. Soooo dogmatic!!
There is no point, Shay…….Having a PhD in Education, Liberal Arts or PoliSci, is worth nothing, or so it seems—-not when Academia is going to pot, as it were. Radical socialism is very much a living, breathing sociological happening, instrumental in brainwashing youth and those who are not educated in the Constitution and basic mores. Soviet Russia comes to mind.
And, each and every one of us needs to think long and hard about this evil. Trump will not be in office forever. What then? I hope there is one democrat among them who does maintain and reaffirm what our forefathers intended. So far, there is nothing substantive on the table—-all frills and free-for-all. Right! —nothing has been done in three years because their quest is to oust this president instead of meeting the needs of the people. Plus, I don’t want Big Brother watching me, LOL.
Again, have a blessed Thanksgiving, Shay—-I don’t know anything about you, except for your beautiful, brilliant mind. However, my viscera tell me you’re married with children—on that note—bless your family!! Sempre mia amica….C.❤️
Oh, did you catch Gutfeld, last night? What a treat!!

@CeeCeeGirl…It seems that “BrookLynn’ was actually named after “Brooklyn,” because that’s from where her mama, Lois Cerullo, originates….Bensonhurst, to be exact! One and the same place that spawned both Dimples and Ned’s current spouse, Olivia…guess you can say Ned goes for a certain “type!” LOL. Apparently, Lois also knew Sonny back in the day—Quelle surprise! Don’t all roads lead back to him, especially where women are concerned??—-That pretty much covers my understanding of the BrookLynn, et al, backstory, since as I previously noted, I wasn’t at all into GH during that particular period of Port Charles happenings—albeit I’ve heard mention of these absent characters during the ensuing years of the soap.

@CeeCee….Although my response was posted, it was much abridged, so I’d just like to add from “my family” to yours, sending best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving! (Along with great appreciation for your always generous thoughts…I would use the same glowing adjectives to describe you, cara amica mia!!!) Benedica!!!

And a most belated Happy Thanksgiving and general “Happy Holidays” to you, too, Mr. Fairman! (I just saw your reply after a brief respite from the website….) As for your clarification regarding going off-topic and not sticking to the thread subject at hand, that was clearly my understanding from your last post directed to Violet and me. Quite frankly, I was never aware that it was such an important consideration prior to your reprimand, but once you apprised me, I made it a point to follow that rule, and until this particular instance, did not meander from your intended topics. To what I was referring were numerous posts down page which actually introduced both politics and British tv programming into the Anna/Finola mix…as you can tell by the time and date stamps, they occurred before either CeeCee or I made any such comments along those lines, and I repeatedly questioned why they were allowed here when you had already categorically stated to me that going off-topic was unacceptable. (Which I completely understand, as neither subject, unless specifically introduced by you, really furthers the cause of promoting daytime soap operas, which is the main focus of your website and I respect that!) My repeated queries were not so much complaints as simply wondering why it was permitted for some, but not for others…and that’s it in a nutshell. Rest assured that when you take the time out of your busy schedule to personally address any of us, it is duly noted and I do my best to adhere to your instructions. At any rate, I wanted to thank you for your kind reply, and let you know that I indeed took seriously your guidelines…I was just very confused as to why they did not equally apply to all of us. (I do believe that if you examine the timeline of this thread, you will see that I merely followed suit of other contributors who initially veered the subject matter off course…If discussion of such topics were not deemed desirable for this particular thread, then why were they permitted here in the first place? Doing so sent a “mixed message.” Enough said!) Once again, thank you for responding to my concerns, Mr. Fairman! Best wishes for a wonderful weekend and festive season!!!!!

Post Script. Think Eric Blair, Shay—–he did prophesize the eventual, bionic eye of Big Brother. LOL—

Harry, so agree with you(as usual)! 🙂 There are no despots in America!

Hey, Harry! Wrote you another reply but it didn’t post. Agree with everything you wrote about the impeachment, etc. Astounds me that those shouting the loudest and defending the orange the most are the ones who resent the trials interrupting their soaps and have no interest in watching regardless of which station carries it. Uninformed but mighty! LOL!

Well, looks like our rooting for Hayden this time around is a moot point. Just read Rebecca is leaving the show again and in story, she’ll be in danger so has to leave Port Charles. She’s supposedly leaving Violet with Finn so that should be a cute addtion to the show…love Michael Easton and his rapport with lil Violet is too cute.

rebecca 1…Hi stranger. But like you I’m not commenting as much as I used to. I absolutely agree with you and Harry on why we should watch the impeachment hearings, however inconvenient to some for a few days. Talk about drama, and no excuses about “fake” media when you are seeing it real, live time, with no media bias right or left. I watched last week, and intend watching this week as well. Same for the Kavanagh and Mueller hearings. What a great country we live in that no dictators or country leaders can shut these type of inquiries down.

About Anna and Finn. I liked them okay when she stayed around Port Charles. But her “job” with the WSB just takes her away from Finn for too long and too many times. Sorta like Frisco and Felicia. So I can see him getting back with Hayden, especially because of the sweet little girl. But there’s going to be a lot of problems here just because she is forever holding onto secrets again. So I’m for Anna and Robert getting back together. They always seem to have each others back anyway and a lot in common.

Just saw an interview with Tobias Menzies on CBS this morning. He was part of Outlander as “Black Jack” Randall, but he will be playing Prince Charles on The Crown for it’s third season. I never saw the first two, but will look for it since pickings are slim on regular network tv. Hope nest season for Outlander is better than the last two.

Hey, Rose! How are you?

It is absolutely pathetic at how little interest soap viewers have about the impeachment hearings. You can see it on FB and Twitter. I’m hoping it’s just soap fans and not the general population; we need an informed public to vote in elections…know who and what and why they’re voting, what he or she stands for and is accused of. Very disheartening to read the outcries that their soaps are being disturbed while they shout “lock her up” or “fake news”…yet when given a chance to actually see and hear for themselves they could care less…

But regarding GH…I was never a Hayden fan and was not thrilled she was coming back. I’m not sure if it’s the beautiful little cutie that is playing their daughter but their family scenes were nice to see. (Sooooo much better than a Corinthos family scene; I FF every word out of Carly’s mouth and those mother/daughter lecture scenes where Carly’s shown as supermom? Ugh. I might have to get a new remote from yet other FF moments.. So, yeah, I’m kinda liking Finn and Hayden this time around and I’m still pissed at Anna (lol) for how she swept in on Finn while he was with Alexis and the two of them declared love for each other right when Alexis was about to receive some award…Anna waited until Alexi and Finn had slept together and were building something to declare her feelings…and wasn’t bothered at all that Alexis was hurt so…payback’a bitch….

I don’t remember if you watched Poldark? I think we discussed it…or I kept asking you if you did…:) anyway, so sad…series finale last night. I actually recorded it becaues I was afraid one of my favs was going to be killed off and didn’t want to see that.(and haven’t read reviews of the last show either so I’ll be watching the last episode this week…

Tobias Menzies is amazing; haven’t watched The Crown but I think it’s on Netflix so I might give it a shot. Been watching The Travelers on Netflilx and omg…I love it! but was disappointe to hear it wasn’t picked up for season four. Bingeing the series so just starting the last season. Looking forward to Luifer, Stranger Things and OH! You have got to watch A MILLION LITTLE THINGS if you aren’t. Love. Waiting to see if that’ll be renewed for a third season.

Rebecca1…Will watch for A Million Little Things. Think I told you before just couldn’t get into Poldark. And am disturbed when one of my favourite like Lucifer has gone to one of the other services I don’t want to pay for. Have also been watching the Hallmark channel for feel good stories once in a while. You can also catch some of our soap actors on there once in a while.

But I have been watching the hearings every day. I’ve also mentioned to Harry I am so impressed by those being questioned. They are the unknowns of our country who work all over the world to try to keep and help fulfill America’s “great experiment” of freedom and democracy. And I really like the ladies…Yovanovitch, Cooper and Hill. I’ve never seen their kind of professionalism, grit, and poise before in real life. Hope everything is okay with you.

Rose…Yes, agree about these ladies. THEY should run for President! Knowledgeable, educated, experienced, intelligent, true desire to serve the country.

Lol…I mentioned I couldn’t remember if u watched Poldark..just remembered I brought it up to u several times. So I’m going to give it one more shot…try it again! 🙂 I don’t know how many episodes u gave it but if u hang in..it’s just excellent. I think you’ll fall in love with Aidan Turner…the acting of all is superlative, the drama, romance, treachery, loyalty…and in a sense it hearkens to modern day rich vs poor… power, lower classes good vs evil. Ugh…fantastic.

I bet u never did watch Younger! Another show I adore. I didn’t have Netflix either. Subscribed just to watch Lucifer. You can cancel at any time…no contract so if there’s a series I want to see on any of these channels I sign up then cancel. If I don’t do that, eventually many of them make their way to DVD or Blu Ray and u can find them at the library to take out.

Unfortunately, this is Lucifer’s last season. Netflix only picked them up for two…not sure why. Disppointing but can’t wait for the fifth and final season..

Rebecca Budig (Hayden) is leaving GH so no Finn/Hayden romance. She’s leaving Violet with Finn…

Michael Fairman??? Not sure if you’ll read this message but wondering if there’s still an edit option??? I broke my long comment into paragraphs but it posted as one long reply with no breaks…wanted to edit to break into paragraphs…Thanks!

Thanks, Michael. I found it. Two things:
when I looked at my lengthy reply it seemed it hadn’t been separated by paragraph breaks but in retrospect I think I had to hit the “read more” and when that opened, the paragrpah breaks were there.

As for the “edit” option, might have been the same issue. Lol; can’t remember now but maybe I hadn’t read my posted comment completely so the edit option was hidden unti I hit the “read more” as mentioned above. 🙂

I love Violet. The sweet actress has more talent in her pinky than a few of the adult “actors” – the Parking Lot Loser.

Bring Jeff Webber back played by Josh Taylor who is wasted at Days…i think he and Anna could be paired!

Anna belongs with Robert.

Nancy Lee Grahn’s Star-Studded ALS Fundraiser Reveals “I’ll Be There” Video Featuring Soap Opera Notables

Talk about your impressive line-up! It’s a soap fans dream and for a great cause. General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) is prepping her one-night only ALS fundraiser which will feature many of her friends and co-stars.

The benefit is set for May 4th in Glendale, California. Slated to participate are Genie Francis, Jane Elliot, Peter Bergman, Maurice Benard, Eileen Davidson, Thorsten Kaye, Michelle Stafford, Stephen Nichols, Rena Sofer, Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Claire Egan, Maura West, Kristina Wagner, Gregory Harrison, Trevor St. John, Kate Mansi, Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, and many others.

On Wednesday, Grahn took to her social media and released an “I’ll be there” video shout-out featuring, Monaco, Elliot, Bergman, Bernard, West, Harrison, St. John and more. In a touching and important moment in the new video, Michelle Strogny, who is battling ALS, is featured.

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Learns Britt Died and Tells Anna He Has Been Working For Cates Since November 2021

On the Tuesday, March 26th of General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and the viewers learn about where Jason (Steve Burton) has been for over two and half years. However, Jason gets some news of his own.

Anna is visiting Jason at the PCPD interrogation room. She asks him if he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which he flatly denies. Anna believes him, but she tells Jason it doesn’t matter, because video footage shows him on the roof at the time of the shooting

When talk turns to Jason not willing to speak without his lawyer present, Anna can’t grasp why Jason would instead spend an hour alone talking with John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

Photo: ABC

It is then that Anna brings up that John went by “Jagger” and that the two of them knew each other in high school. Jason doesn’t recall much of his time in high school following his brain injury, but then he gets furious realizing John knew about “Jason’s” past. That is when Jason slams the table and tells Anna, “I’ve been working for John Cates since November 2021.”

Next, Jason explains further that he has been working as an informant for the FBI. Anna wants to know how this came about and he tells her that after the tunnel collapsed, and he couldn’t make it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)… all of a sudden he sees Anna’s face drop.  Anna is the first person to tell him that Britt died and was murdered. She tells Jason the killer is in custody, but he continues to be shocked, overwhelmed with tears welling up in his eyes. Realizing he has to pivot to save his life, Jason continues telling Anna how he wound up working with John.

Jason explains that after the tunnel collapse in Greece, FBI agents grabbed him and placed him under arrest and took him to Quantico where he met John. At Quantico, John played a recording of RICO violations and offered Jason a deal if he agreed to be an informant against Pikeman, the illegal arms dealer.

Anna hears from Jason that he thinks Pikeman is selling illegal arms to anyone flagged by the NSA but has ties to the WSB which they needed a civilian to infiltrate their organization as a military soldier, a mercenary.

Jason tells Anna he was a part of the team brought into eliminate Sonny (Maurice Benard). Every time an attempt was made on Sonny’s life over the last two years, a different team was sent to do the job. Anna gets furious when she learns that John told Jason his job was to kill Sonny and she was with John at the warehouse that night. Jason ensured the sniper missed Sonny and left the rifle behind. However, they were supposed to meet an extraction team. Before he was shot, Dante saw it was Jason on the roof and when he turned around with his hands over his head, Dante was shot by the other guy. Jason says if Dante dies, he’ll be charged with capital murder and then will be useless to the FBI.

Meanwhile, John visits Bobbie’s and runs into Carly (Laura Wright). She learns Jason is in custody and is going to head to the PCPD. Before she does, Carly has some words with Cates when she learns not only does John have a vendetta against Sonny, but Jason too.  Carly tells John he should recuse himself from the case.

So, what did you think about the moment when Jason learned Britt died? What do you think of Jason’s return storyline thus far and what we learned about Jagger/Jason and more? Comment below. But first, check out a moment from today’s GH with Jason and Anna.
