Fans of daytime first saw Antonio Sabato Jr. enter the political arena, when he spoke endorsing now President Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention.

Now Sabato is gearing up to run for Congress, challenging Rep. Julia Brownley (D-Westlake Village), who represents the southern central coast and most of Ventura County in the state of California.

This according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday.

According to the LA Times: “GOP strategist Charles Moran, who will serve as Sabato’s fundraiser, confirmed the run. Strategist Jeff Corless will serve as a top adviser.”

Sabato is best known for his soap roles on General HospitalMelrose Place, and The Bold and The Beautiful, and as a model for Calvin Klein underwear. In the last several years, he has starred in his own reality show, My Antonio and was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

So, what are your thoughts on Sabato running for political office? Comment below.

Anyone who supports Trump turns my stomach. That’s my thought.

Must you? Hasn’t there been enough dissention and heartache in the world? Do you really want to go down this road? Cut that out!!!!!
We exist. We are here because our ancestors wanted to live a life of freedom; unfettered. So, why are you cutting people at the knees? Why should people abide by your dictates, beliefs and values?
what makes you think that your worth is on a higher standard than mine? You do not even know me, or any other Trumpster on this board—perhaps you turn our dtomac with acido. Are you going to take on more than half the country. Gimme an everloving break!!
Here we go again with the insults. Live and let live.

So let me understand this, Celia. I’m supposed to abide by Trump’s beliefs and values? “Gimme an everloving break!” If anyone is “cutting people at the knees”, it’s Trump and his Trumpcare. And I do not think that my worth is on a higher standard than yours – we are both Americans (who both love soap operas). And we should both want someone in the White House and in Congress who cares about EVERYBODY. I just don’t get that feeling from Trump and his administration and most (not ALL) Republicans. They scare me to be quite honest.

Hey there, CeeCee! The only “safe havens” in New York are Trump Tower and your family abodes! (Oh, and Sean’s place in Oyster Bay….)

Check your math, Celia: Considerably less than half the country voted for the current occupant of the oval office. He lost the popular vote by nearly 3,000,000. That’s not an insult, Celia; it’s a fact. Learn the difference.

Not more than half the country, Celia. His approval rating is 36%. So, barely over 1/3 of the country. And he lost the popular vote. However, I am not going to take on the mythical “more than half the country,” or the actual 1/3 of the country. So…carry on.

Amen Marc!

Agree, Marc. Sickening. New York and California are our safe havens…or at least trying to be. We can’t let these stages be “infected” too.

Oh, how I wish for the edit button!!!! LOL. states…not…stages.

Any “American” who is close minded turns my stomach!

And, thank goodness you can’t “fire” democracy!

Hi, Mark,
No, I did not say that. Please reread what I wrote.
You can feel however you want about the president…your prerogative. What I am saying is that you collectively insulted all Trump supporters.
Believe me, I understand. I do not agree with everything he does. But, you indulted me, not Trump. Can you not see that?
I do not care about Trump. If he is doing things”wrong”, his mistakes are his and his alone. Do not hang me and all others because of Trump. The truth has a way of insidiously coming to the surface.
Say what you will about him. But, you did not, did you? You said that anyone who supports Trump makes your stomach turn. I voted for Trump. That means I make your stomach turn. Is that fair, Mark?
I simply responded in kind.

So let me get this straight, Celia, if Trump is doing anything wrong, I’m not supposed to blame the people who voted for him and continue to support him – like yourself? So these folks who put this man into the White House are blameless? Well, golly gee whiz, I just don’t see things that way. YOU are to blame whether you like it or not. As for my original remark, many of the Trump supporters I have seen have been filmed and interviewed at his lovely rallies – and, yes, those people definitely make my stomach turn with the horrible things they’ve said about President Obama, Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton. And it seems – at least from television – that most Republicans share these views and think it’s perfectly fine to discriminate against everyone who is not rich, white, straight and male. But if you are NOT one of these Republicans, Celia, and you are a more moderate one who doesn’t agree with the disgusting rhetoric at these rallies and the rampant discrimination across this country, then you do not make my stomach turn. However, you still voted for Trump. And I will hang his ‘mistakes” on you. I hope that seems fair.

I thought that these messages were monitored before posting? This is hate speech which is causing me anxiety and I must go find a safe space to hide in.

Seriously, this is uncalled for.

Good luck to Antonio for wanting to serve his country.

Marc, You are so right. Very scary times

Preach Marc! Celia, get back in your basket. #NotMyPresident #Resist #BasketOfDeplorables

Someone supporting the President turns your stomach? Wow. Classy.

36% approval rating. Today the Russian media had access to the President but US media didn’t. It’s not America First, is it Comrades?

I never believed I’d see the day when a R President and R Congress were in bed and doing the bidding of the former KGB leader in Moscow.

64% disapprove of this President. Disagreement was fine when the President was black but it’s not fine when he’s Cheeto-colored? Got it. Two out of three voters disagree.

Now, let’s get back to our soaps!

your dont know what your talking about texas,Ind all the middle of the county are trump all the way

Say W-h-a-t? Boo! Hiss!

What scares me are illegal, criminal immigrands who are regurgitated into society, unmindful of the danger they present to the public.
What scares me are the crazies/anarchists who go around burning private property, the American flag the beatings of innocent people, the trashing of 10-year old little boys, and accosting mothers with young children because their father is Donald Trump.

Celia, this rant does not sound like you. You seem far too intelligent to be posting nonsense about imaginary burnings of private property by “crazies/anarchists” on a soap opera board.

Quite frankly, I’ve never understood why anyone would think that it’s the place of US taxpayers to foot the bill for somebody else’s health care coverage unless we are speaking of individuals who truly cannot provide for themselves through no fault of their own. (The mentally/physically disabled, injured military vets, etc….) Liberals say that healthcare is a “right,” not a “privilege,” but I reject this “either/or” definition….what it really comes down to is that it is a “personal responsibility,” just like auto, home, life and any other type of insurance one as a functioning adult must purchase without the aid of federal subsidies…Of course, we don’t like having to pay for it, but it is simply the right thing to do and so we have handled our own affairs as we saw fit and according to our own needs/capabilities. Most of those who were covered prior to the “Obomination” of our healthcare marketplace, had policies which they liked, wanted to keep and had obtained via either employment perks or from their own “out-of-pocket” expenses. To have upset that applecart of general satisfaction for thousands, make that millions, of otherwise self-supporting people was absolutely ludicrous…what it essentially came down to was “robbing Peter to pay Paul.” Instead of allowing those who were content with the status quo to keep what they wanted and addressing the minority of those malcontents who seemingly complained the loudest, too many were forced by law to relinquish their own preferred policies just so the government could meddle in our personal lives by imposing decisions that should have been made by the individual and not the state. What we now have are far too many individuals/families either paying massive premiums for inferior products with ridiculously-high deductibles that they never would have chosen in the first place or more and more people being forced onto the Medicaid rolls at taxpayer expense…neither of which is an ideal or desired situation for the majority of U.S. citizens who really do wish to take care of themselves whenever possible. This unnecessary takeover of approximately one-sixth of our economy was never anything more than a brazen leftist attempt to control both the US citizenry in a way our founders never intended and our country’s first-rate medical sector by turning it into one that’s sadly reminiscent of third world nations. Given the death spiral collapse of the health insurance and provider industries ever-approaching, I’d say that mission has nearly been accomplished. (Aetna, anyone????)

What were the lessons of the life of Jesus? Did he hang out a Mar-A-Lago with billionaires or did he walk the streets tending to the afflicted, those who suffered without relief? Did he go to the treasury and double the gold reserve or did he make the blind see and heal lepers? The tenets of my faith ask that we tend to the poor and the infirm. I’m pretty okay with that.

“Quite frankly, I’ve never understood why anyone would think that it’s the place of US taxpayers to foot the bill for somebody else’s health care coverage.”

Great, turn in your medicare, Shay. Because Medicare is universal health care for all adults over the age of 65. You know, the system you’ve been paying in to if you worked? Please, live your words and values.

Health care costs as a percent of the GDB are highest in the US than in countries with a single payer. You know why that is? Because when you have a single payer and a single cost schedule, you’ve just saved a ton of money by not handing profits over to profit making insurance companies that add no VALUE to the quality of health care. So, yes, our health care costs way more than other countries and it has no relationship to health outcomes.

Health Outcomes, sorry if you already know this, is a field of study. Folks who provide these studies include the WHO, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, most graduate programs in Public Health, etc. These studies map end results (mortality, chronic illness, injuries, etc) and the delivery systems for health care. Briefly? We spend more on systems and get less in outcomes.

Oh, Shay, you had me giggling when you conflated the Founding Fathers and first-rate health care. There weren’t many hospitals in colonial America. If lucky, a town likely had someone with limited education as a health care provider and negligible non-personnel resources.

The fascinating thing about the health care dialog is the abundance of opinion (you need to take care of yourself) and the absence of dispassionate scientific data and studies. Trust: there’s plenty of data and studies. And it all says we can do better.

And, as a practicing Catholic, I know that the directive to do better comes from a much higher authority than that of the village scold.

Hey, Shay,
There are more ‘safe havens’ than you think in my neck of the woods. They simply are not vociferous.

@Tomas…Given that 52% of Catholics voted for President Trump, it is more than bit disingenuous to pull the “faith card” as a blanket endorsement for a liberal government program. The truth is that “The Church” is just as divided as the nation in whole on political matters, and it has become even more so under its currently controversial leadership.

I don’t know how many times I have said this. I was ready to vote for Hillary……only my third time voting….Hillary’s tactics did not impress me. I remember how she had slammed Obama sky-high….not very becoming.
I am neither Republican, nor Democrat. But, I had to make a choice; and, Trump’s peccadillos paled in comparison to me. Then, of course, the thought of Bill, loose, once again reaming the halls of the WH sniffing young skirts, sealed the deal.
This does not give you the right to insult me, as a human being……what a guy!!!!!

Oh give me a break, Celia. Donald Trump slammed – and continues to slam/blame – President Obama, so that lame excuse for not voting for Hillary is a bunch of baloney. As for Bill Clinton being in the White House again “sealing the deal” for you to vote for Trump is downright ridiculous! Your favorite guy is on tape saying he grabbed this woman and that woman – and he doesn’t think it’s wrong to call women ugly and other “lovely” names. Trump – “what a guy!!!!!” Thanks for making me laugh, Celia. I’m not going to bother to respond to anymore of your comments since you obviously think Trump’s “peccadillos” are much ado about nothing. I, on the other hand, am embarrassed by this incompetent man and his administration on a daily basis. So let’s just agree to disagree on politics, Celia, and get back to watching our favorite daytime soaps.

Celia, I’m with you. I didn’t vote for either Hilary or Trump, but I agree with everything you said, and I live in Oregon! The fact that people are giving you this hard time is why he won, and they are so verbally hateful towards us while causing us hateful. How do I feel about ASJr.? Bad, because like Tim Allen and his hit show, he’s going to be treated like garbage.

Preach Ashleigh!! You are 110% Correct. I’m an Independant and was utterly shocked to see the Democrats behavior before and after the election. They are the ones being hateful, acting in the same way they preach against. This has been a big eye opener regarding who treats people poorly, the Democrats. Bitter Sour Bettys.

I will not shed any tears, for Mark, Harry!!

You are so witty, so funny Mark. Thing is, President Trump has a potty mouth…all smoke; no roast….and, more importantly he was NOT president, was he? Bill Clinton besmirched the name with his sexual escapades right indide the oval office, with an intern and then some….how low can one go!!
I will not engage in corversation with someone whose hate is so tangible and and who cannot be civil….and, whose name I do not recognize.
Ciao, baby.

Any chance for another volume in the DEEP DISH series?

Nonchalant

Go Antonio Go!

I agree with you 110%

Away! Far, far away. Try Russia.

Niiice!!

LOL Matthew.

I leave it to the voters in his district to decide.

Ticket for two?

Oh boy, here we go again! Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be another bumpy thread!

Why can’t people just opine, agree or disagree without insulting those of us who support Trump? It is not a disease. Why must we be kicked around, en masse just because???? Oh, ye of little minds!!!. So there!!
Ciao, Shaybelle.

That’s them told, CeeCee! We managed to survive the last administration without coming to these threads and constantly airing our complaints about the previous WH occupant and his policies or insulting his supporters, yet those of us who champion President Trump haven’t been granted that same courtesy by those who voted against him. But then we already know the left doesn’t believe in either decency or fair play…just look at the absolute filth their cohorts Maher and Colbert have recently spouted. It’s totally shameful and disgusting….

Stomach

you know why Celia because he sows that type of discord. I would rather have not voted at all if I felt it was a better choice Now that Trump is in office I have to deal with that fact. That he chooses to be boastful and smug I deal with that. That he chooses to tweet insults and offer up a book of empty pages to mock an opposing party..dealing. That he states he sent an armada to North Korea when it was headed the opposite way and not ordered there..dealing. That he ordered bombs dropped while dining at his own establishment with a foreign dignitary over beautiful chocolate cake..dealing..and then FORGOT who he bombed..dealing. That he chooses a friends only cabinet and family members over seasoned politicians..dealing. That he blames everybody and Obama for his stalled promises..dealing. That he respects known dictators..dealing. That he fired the investigator investigating he and his..dealing. That he continually and knowingly let’s his businesses and those of his family members profit from his position..dealing. That he blows off the environment and the terminally ill and born ill and women and races..dealing. He is president for better or worse..but that other shoe is dropping faster and faster..THAT’S why i’m dealing.

And as far as Antonio Sabato jr. is coerned..i’m sure he can see Russia from his backyard too..i.e. Sarah Palin(esque)

concerned

We who support Trump dont like you insulting us I take it you dont like that number of jobs is way way up Celia you said best

@davlestev1
Ok, dav. I’ll buy that and respect your opinion and others’.
Nonetheless, Mark started the negative response by insulting Trump supporters. Say what you will, my friend….it’s your right, but, as I am trying to point out, all Trump supporters should not take the heat. We are all crucified because we voted for him? That is my point.
Having interacted with you many times, I truly like you, dav, for your fairness. So, all the affronts towards, us, the commoners, the plebeians (Ha), should stop posthaste.
I will accept anything anyone has to say about this administration, keeping an open mind, while stating facts….just not make mince meat out of those of us who do not ‘swing’ left.
Later, dav.

Trump…like a newbie soap character i will give him a chance…i really believe he is for ALL OF US…had Hellery won there would still be those for or against her just as is with Trump…no matter who is elected President there never really was or will be 100% support…Trump like all before him isnt perfect and neither are those who like or dislike him…i think in given time Trump will improve and some opinions will change…i will not argue with posters over politics because not all will see eye to eye just like most of our soap opinions are never 100% in agrreement…its just how things are!!!

Hi Ceila! 🙂

Speaking for me.
It’s not about politics it’s about the man..
Go to Youtube.. in the search put—
RNC Speaker: Obama Is A Muslim

To me he just is not right in the head LOL …
Nothing to do with right or left.

To davlestev1: Your comment about Palin made me laugh out loud!

“But then we already know the left doesn’t believe in either decency or fair play…just look at the absolute filth their cohorts ”

Uninformed name calling and invective says more about the small mind, Shay, of person doing the name calling.

Yeah, chants of Lock her up were all about decency and fair play. 36% approval rating and falling. For the sake of the republicans I like, I hope they cut their losses soon.

Just to update your post davelestev1, the day after firing the FBI Director investigating his campaign for collusion with Russia, he met with the Russian Foreign Minister and Ambassador ,who is a known spy, in the Oval Office and allowed the Russian State TV photographer in to take pictures as the American Press was barred from entering….Dealing…with how Trump is Making America Great Again.

And Sabato has zero chance of winning in that district.

Trump supporters do, indeed, have every right to their opinions, whether or not I agree with those opinions. However — admitting my age — the emerging parallels with Watergate are disturbing, and I do remember the horror of Watergate. If — and I mean, only, IF and not when — evidence becomes public that Mr. Trump and/or his circle of advisors did indeed collude with a hostile foreign power (Russia), that is akin to treason. If that comes to pass, I do hope our Trump supporters here will reveal themselves not as partisans, but as PATRIOTIC AMERICANS. I personally think — ideology aside — that a less personally flawed vehicle than the current president, such Kasich or Rubio or Macain, would more effectively deliver on the promises that Trump supporters signed on for. But that is just me.

As for Sabato? His candidacy is silly and his RNC speech was bombastic. But I said the same thing about silliness when a certain actor ran for president. That president represented Sabato’s state, as did “Gopher” (from “The Love Boat”) and Sonny Bono. On the other side of the aisle, I was also skeptical about a certain comedian running for the Senate from my home state. I am quite pleased with him now that he is in office.

I do not want to insult our friends here who are Trump supporters, as insults make productive dialogue impossible. But I hope they will not allow any kind of blind political allegiance to one man to “trump” their primary allegiance, which should be to the United States, and not any one politician. If this administration is proven to have in any way colluded with a hostile foreign power to disrupt our democratic electoral process, I hope this administration’s partisans put COUNTRY first.

I like Valentin and Anna, for what it is worth.

Um, exactly what was uninformed and name-calling? I was referring to the utterly revolting remarks made by both Bill Maher and Stephen Colbert regarding our president and his eldest daughter…they were absolutely sick by any standard and should have been widely condemned by those with even a modicum of propriety, regardless of political party preference. And yet, I have yet to hear a peep of disapproval from any prominent Democrat….now THAT speaks of not only small minds, but a total lack of fairness and basic decency! If those same disgusting things had been said about one of your leaders and their child, your side would have gone ballistic and everyone knows it!

Darlings we will implode the hatred and the off the charts craziness will be the undoing of this country! But as we speak saddling up for a nite ride! God the sunset is wonderful god is with us all and life is grand! Everybody take a deep breath and smell the roses kiss your family your friends and just be with love

Shay, you took two people and made them the entirety of “the left’. You don’t find that an extreme characterization? Everyone who disagrees with our Dear Supreme Leader is a cancer on the body politic? (Frankly, can anyone be surprised the Bill Maher made a tasteless joke after a lifetime of doing just that. Oh, the handwringing horror and shock.)

Btw, I consider myself a centrist and I’m a political independent. You know, one of the folks each party has to win over to get my vote. There’s no walking back the fact that the Kremlin had a preferred candidate for the US Presidency and worked overtime to ensure their favorable outcome.

So, yeah, I’m not thrilled with a Kremlin sock-puppet in the Oval Office. And it has nothing to do with his kids.

Excellent Tomas!!!! You are correct. “All 17 agencies in the U.S. intelligence community recently reaffirmed its conclusion that senior officials in Russia were behind hacks during the 2016 presidential campaign into the Democratic National Committee and emails belonging to associates of HRC.”

“Kremlin sockpuppet” and corruption is right!

Since so much is always happening, need to update your post again davelestev1.
While discussing the job security of the FBI Director, asking him if he’s the subject of an investigation, basically engaging in bribery/extortion. In the same conversation, asking the FBI Director to pledge his loyalty, committing obstruction of Justice…dealing.

Oh dear God.

God help California!

E-X-A-C-T-L-Y!!!!!

If nothing else, this should be good for a lot of laughs. At least he won’t be (AHEM) “acting” anymore. Seriously though, how could someone so unqualified and unfit for public office think he has a snowball’s chance…oh, wait. Nevermind.

Hahahaha…Yep.

PF…good one…lol. Y-e-p.

This is the beauty of a democracy. Good luck!

Exactly, Toscanti! Antonio is a perfect poster boy for both legally immigrating to this country and achieving the “American Dream,” which are beliefs that Republicans wholeheartedly applaud! It would do them well to have him as one of the faces of the modern-day party. I wish him luck….and victory!

Best answer. Thank you, toscanti. Thank you for defining the true meaning of democracy……that upon which this beautiful nation is borne.
Did Arnold have any experirnce in government when he was elected governor? What did he do? Play footsie with the maid, and Lord only knows, who else , right under his wife’s nose and in her bed!!!! Niiice!!!!

Tell me about it, CeeCeeGirl!…Ahhhhnold had more in common with his wife’s famous family than anyone ever guessed…LOL! Plus, he couldn’t bring decent ratings to “Celebrity Apprentice” to save his life!!!! No wonder he was “terminated!”

Darlings he has every woman who has a pulse saying Drop your Linen and keep on Grinning”

Celia, Arnold and the maid “playing footsie,” made me laugh! SO true!

@CeeCee….Great comments,,,definitely en pointe….as Sgt. Joe Friday said, the facts ma’am, just the facts! Not only are you oh so right about the liberal hypocrisy on so many of the aforementioned issues, but the class envy angle which they and their followers ooze in spades, despite being some of the least personally generous individuals on earth, at least when it comes to parting with their own money. Now, doling out the taxpayers’ largesse is quite another thing altogether!

Thankfully, Shay’s is not the majority view in our country. Not only do more than half the country NOT support Trump,, a growing share of Americans believe that the federal government has a responsibility to make sure ALL Americans have health care coverage, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. Thankfully, even though it’s hard to see…there are more thinking, caring Americans than not. Unfortunately, it’s an uphill battle. And the minority, who care nothing for the people in need…are currently the ones making decisions. Repeat…It’s a nightmare.

I’ve seen a few fellow soap actors on twitter already laughing about this.

You mean the “usual suspects,” k/kay????

Hey, Shaybelle,
As I said, I am not too familiar with Antonio–except for his ‘endowments’ in his Calvin Kleins—oh, yeah!!!!
To your excellent point; I do believe su is an immigrant, and she should identify with that—-right, su? Love you, SuzieQ…..
I was a little confused with her other comment, as I am not sure if she is speaking of Sabato or the president.
Also, I wish some willy-nilly comments were ‘contained’; know the facts before uttering them. Trump was praised for his ‘demolition’ in Syria, …..wait for it!!!! By whom?? The democrats…..justly so. It had to be done. Isis was crippled, yet still creating havoc….
I do believe there is a lot of resentment and envy going on. Those who have money and so much to spare are not evil. They do give back and contribute to society and help the needy with numerous charities. I don’t see Hollywood doing too much ….only a few. And, I see it first-hand.
By the same token, the Clintons left the WH broke ( out of Hillary’s own mouth), and within a short span of time became millionaires by hob-nobbing with the enemy, namely Putin……
And, creating a fake foundation, where Haiti only received 9% of the revenues collected from Hurricane Sandy.
To add insult to injury, Obama and Hillary empowered Iran with “the deal”, where Iran is perfecting a mind-shatteing, body-exploding missile the world has yet to see–never mind NK.

I am sure he is in deep trauma and on life support over what they said!

Well, Kay, my friend…that’s all they can do; have been doing; making us all, as Americans, look like idiots to the rest of the world. So, laugh, laugh, laugh.
They will not have the last laugh; “while my guitar gently weeps” for our country. This separation….this invisible line can only hurt us, in the long-run. For what? To prove a point? Because they can’t stand Trump? To cut off the nose to spite the face? Makes no sense. As long as the country is run like a well-oiled machine, I do not care who sits on the throne, scepter in hand; intact for the next rite of passage.
Who are these people hurting? Themselves, and all of us, as they cannot see the forest for the trees.

Celia do you not watch his daily antics? Sure refining or country is a daunting job..but this man had leadership and general political knowledge all wrong. He still can’t even believe he’s in office. In the ride garden tool all America he says can you believe it. Can you believe it I’m the president. He stated he’d rather be doing anything else but be. This is hard. Yeah. Because it’s the oval office…not a boardroom. You can’t ignore his ineptitude. I can’t.

Leading our country not refining

In the rose garden. See I can’t ignore my typing error.

Nancy Lee Grahn?

I hope so! Nancy echos what many of us feel regarding this insane political climate. Nice knowing that the actress who plays one of my favorite characters is so Evolved and INvolved.

Well said @dmr and @rebecca1! Being on the West Coast and 3 hours behind, I am now afraid to go to bed at night and see what new fiasco orangeface has concocted overnight. He has made us the laughing stock.

k/kay – I see you have such a high standards for men, and this also explains your voting record. Antonio is only 45 but also on his 3rd marriage. He has 3kids from 3 different women – one NOT from a wife. At least he doesn’t have 5 kids from 3 women? Sounds like a great guy!

THE SAD PART IS…IN CALIFORNIA ONLY BLEEDING HEART LIBERALS GET ELECTED…..HE DOESNT STAND A CHANCE IN MY STATE. HE IS A BRAV E SOUL TO TRY.

Amen to that, UK. Bravo to him for standing up in such a hostile environment.

0ooh dear lord..
the man is a radical- he is not right in the head.

God Save America !

See, now? I appreciate that, su. That is your opinion. I cannot comment on Antonio because I have no clue who he is or what his ideals; sentiments are.
I like your answer because you did not make a general statement insulting all Trump supporters collectively. That’s the way it should be.

Very true, CeeCee, but I would love for su to enlighten us as to how Antonio is “not right in the head.” He seems to believe that people who come to this country should follow the same legal procedures that he did in order to obtain his U.S. citizenship….that sounds pretty darn sane to me! As for being “radical,” I have no idea in what capacity she is referring…..

It not funny he would make a good congresmen again Celia you said it best God bless you

You dont want God to step in, trust me!

Y es we do Trump won becase people like me prayed night day and night for him to win

MIC DROP. THANK YOU TIMMM

And to Judy even the demons know the scriptures and tremble. And in no way am I calling you a demon AT ALL…please don’t misconstrue. All I’m saying is there are two factors ALWAYS at work on this earth good and evil. Don’t throw God’s hand into every action that is a common mistake.

I’m with you, su! Surely “that man” who has APPOINTED himself God is not about saving us; he’s too busy “saving” all his own “business” interests.
DON’T TREAD ON ME!

Rather on point, Nancy. But he’s not “saving” his interests…he’s expanding them via his new Washington hotels conveniently placed so that visiting dignitaries can stay there…his daughter got a boost in China to sell her line…while he’s pocketing more money he’s bleeding citizens dry in Florida and New York to pay for his wife’s NY security (can you blame her for not wanting to live with him???) and his constant back n’ forth to Florida. There’s not a single thing he criticized President Obama for that he hasn’t done a million times over. To add insult to injury he’s a billionairre and WE’RE paying for his indulgences. Unreal times…

Well said – Nancy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You Go Girl!!!

I echo your sentiments, su.

He has no chance of winning that race. But I’d be quite content just looking at him in his Calvin Klein underwear dancing on the sand of the beach like he did in Janet Jackson’s 90s video. 🙂

Good one, Jason. LOL……we needed that, thanks!

Oh baby Mr. Gorgeous goes to Washington! Darling I have still got my cowboy boots on let’s kick up some trouble!

Antonio might as well “Go to Washington,” because I think we can safely assume he shall not be receiving an invite to the GH NB!

Love that guy what a handsome devil now let’s move on you crazies out there we are having sooo much fun watching you implode

Facts this wall everybody is crying about was approved ten years ago so all the crying and moaning is for not try pulling your heads out Trump campaigned on wanting to build the wall that had been passed by Congress ten years ago! I guarantee you if congress or hollywoods jobs were threatened by illegals they would all be there with a shovel ! So please stop the madness he is not doing anything but wanting to finish the job that was passed years ago! As for San Francisco Bill Clinton passed the law in 1996 no sanctuary city please do research quit screaming mindless stuff ok

wow you said

Let’s build a wall around him! LOL

Touche, Nancy!

Amen to that, k/kay! By the way, was “B1 Bob” your congressman at one time? Loved that guy….still miss him!

No they have asked me to run in my home state said no don’t want to take the pay cut

@K/Kay – do you work at McDonald’s or DairyQueen that your job is being taken by immigrants? BTW -Look it up, but the majority of immigrants are flying in. The wall won’t help you.

I had occasion to work with Sabato back in the 90’s. He is DUMB AS BRICKS. Really. Serially dumb. One of the most brainless, dense individuals I have ever encountered.

Maybe he was just so bowled over by your own obviously superior intellect, Thad Bosley, that you left him speechless!

My Greek-American husband, who is better looking than Antonio (sorry but now I sound like Celia :)), was trying to be nice but basically said the samething as Thad after hearing his DNC speech for which he had time to prepare for.

I can’t imagine what comes out of his mouth – ad-hoc when he doesn’t prepare????

My apologies in advance to anyone I may have offended!

Hey Thad…very good analysis…lol. Any-hoo, to this day, Sabato (acting-wise and personality-wise) makes me wanna G-A-G!!!!! BEYOND B-L-E-C-H!!!!!

Later, dude.

Good for Antonio! I wish him well!

Wish I lived in California, so I could not vote for him.

excellent! LOL!

maxine waters nancy pelosi barbara boxer Feinstein governor moonbeam yep I sure as hell wish I lived in California! Those brain thrusts wow

K/Kay – California, along with NY and Massachusets, has one of the most educated electorates in the US. Along with our trillion dollar economy, we are doing just fine without you. 🙂 PLEASE go to another state!!

I wanted to add that Californians usually vote against their own self-interests (e.g. taxes) for the greater good of our beloved country.

Dan…I’m from California (Oakland, originally)…and I’ve lived in Louisiana for more than half my life…and I STILL WOULDN’T vote for that ANNOYING CHEESEHEAD Sabato!!!!! NO WAY IN HELL!!!!!

Later, dude.

After seeing a few interviews with Antonio during the campaign my money is on the democrat no mater who they are.

@Mike – sorry but I am late to the party – see my comments above.

I completely agree with you.

He’d have my vote if I lived there, which will NEVER happen, unless that state gets its act together. I’m more interested in the secession movement and finding out when the rest of us can live in peace without the state that thumbs its nose at the rest of the USA and disrespects our President so openly. Just remember the military bases, your water and energy sources and our seaports stay with the USA. The wall will go up at Primm. Will it be worth it, forsaking your own to join Mexico? Shame to those who stand with illegals and terrorists as you burn our flag. Hopefully, people there will wake up and stop electing violent radical leftists. If not, don’t expect the rest of us to fight you on your secession. Just remember, you keep the land blanketed by smog; we keep the rest.

Besutifully said, Scott.

California will secede when Texas secedes. and forms its own alt right, tin foil hat wearing, Confederate flag flying, stuck in the 1950s country, like it was threatening to do when Obama was President.

Trump lost the popular vote by almost 3 million votes, so I’m not sure what this “rest of the country” is that you’re referring to.

I could of said it better

@Scott – California has the 6th largest economy in the WORLD according to the World Bank’s rankings. Look it up!

“U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported last month that California’s GDP was $2.5 trillion in 2015, up 4.1 percent from a year earlier. California saw more economic growth than the United States as a whole, which was up 2.4 percent.
Only five countries produced more last year than California: the U.S., China, Japan, Germany and United Kingdom.”

CA has Camp Pendelton (Largest marine base on the West Coast plus North Island (San Diego Navy, Edwards Air Force -Riverside, Travis Air Force Base SF, etc).
CA feeds a large majority of the WORLD.
CA Central Valley – has Silicon Valley

We could easily succeede (unlike Texas) and include Washington State and Oregon who are very like minded to us, with no issues. Good luck without us!!!

“Whatever you do to one of my least brothers, you do unto me” Matt 25:40-45

“disrespects the President?” you mean the man who calls others fat pigs, liars, cowards, losers and likes to grab em by the pu–y? Now THAT’s respect!

California…I guess he plans to “Fix It and Finish It.”

I don’t think anyone can “fix” California….it’s already “finished!” Has been for quite a few years now with its nearly one-party rule.

wow! 🙂 clever!

Just to clarify…my “wow, clever” was to 4ever DAYS.

I don’t think Antonio has an undergraduate degree?? Fix what? How???

He has that TV show “Fix It and Finish It” where he and his crew go in and fix/renovate houses. If I interpreted 4ever Days correctly just playing on words…sardonic little twist…and if that was the dig I thought it was I appreciated it. (Apologies if you already knew this and I interpreted your comment…or 4ever’s…incorrectly.)

Thanks, rebecca! I had no idea! 🙂 Now I get it! LOL

thee – only – thing that keeps Antonio Sabato, Jr. “afloat” ( his star has crashed)

he was once married to the lovely and sensual Virginia Madsen. ooh la la – YES

outside of this : the firing of FBI director ; James Comey

the fact that Trump is firing and delaying the FBI from investigating any and all ties with Russia… be it the election and any personal relationship with Trump business ties

it staggers me.. that Trump and his hired cronies… are disassembling what our founding fathers stood for, along with EVERY OTHER president , outside of Trump

saw on MSNBC that at least it was said… that NIXON didn’t fire HIS FBI director @during his tenure

I want more town hall MEET’ing of the mind

Say it again, Patrick!

I wish Trump was a soap character and not real life. He actually makes Victor look like a choir boy.

Good one Rose!

IMPEACH THE ORANGE. SQUEEZE THE CALIFORNIA NAVEL JUICE OUT OF HIM INDEPENDENT COMMISSION!!!

Yes, an independent commission or prosecutor is a must in this time of constitutional crisis.

the FBI has always been an independent ways and means of due process ?

this is such an obvious blow to all Americans who are on the losing end of any justice

Trump has adamantly shown himself to be about power and control

taken from a facebook excerpt ( act.tv )

Without, as the Constitution mandates, the “equal protection of the law,” we don’t really have a government and our democracy is crippled. What we have instead is an authoritarian regime run by a few men for the personal and political benefit of one man, President Trump.

Americans are witnessing a slow-motion coup
Rule of law be damned, President Trump was mad as hell and casting around looking for a reason to fire James Comey

“disturbing”

Patrick…To go along in spirit with your facebook excerpt, I was listening to Anderson Cooper the other night. He was getting reaction from a retired General, Karl Berstein of “All the Proesident’s Men,” and David Axelrod. The General had a sobering observation, something like, the veil between a democracy and third world dictatorships can be very thin, and that we are really testing it right now. Democracy has to be worked at, and never taken for granted.

Thanks you Patrick!!!! Well said and welcome back! We missed you!

Well said, Patrick! Couldn’t agree more.

Great post, Patrick. By the way, I didn’t know Sabato had been married to Virginia Madsen…odd couple! Wonderful actress!

Virginia Madsen was really good in a lovely written movie entitled The Magic of Belle Isle–with Morgan Freeman–I watched it twice. Enjoyed it just as much the second time. Did you happen to see that one? Well worth one’s time.

Hi Nancy… Never heard of the film. I’ll see if I can find it. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hey, Patrick,
I always read your comments with pleasure, my poet.
However, I do not think that the removal of Comey delays or impedes any investigation….it will go on, regardless, full force.
If you remember, the democrats had asked for Comey’s removal in July and then again in October. The guy had it coming.
I, personally, did not like what he did at the eleventh hour of the election. I did not think that was fair to Hillary; and, I , also, think Comey ‘knighted’ himself with absolute power. It was not fair to her, and I truly felt badly for her, as I would for anyone in that situation. I have no personal animus, nor am I vengeful.
I doubt the president, though, has the power to stop ANY investigation.
Later.

This is proof positive that underwear models were meant to be seen and not heard.

Indeed Andy! LOL

Haha! Best use of that expression!

This thread has more drama than “DOOL” has carved out in a month. 🙂

Reading the comments posted above, and it saddens me, how the world is at such a divide. To be honest, I voted for Trump, and not because I am a racist, or because I am xenophobic, and not because I 100% agree with everything that he says, does, or tweets. I voted for him because I believe that some change is needed in regards to four important topics: illegal immigration (not to be confused with legal immigration), health care, the tax code/system, and deregulation (among others). I am a Banker, at a small community Bank, not a Bank of America, or a “stock” bank, and lessening the regulation loopholes for smaller Banks would help make our jobs a little easier.
Now, can’t we all just agree to disagree, and talk about what is really important, and fight for what is really important: our opinions and thoughts about our favorite characters, the storylines they are involved in, on our favorite daytime/lunchtime TV?

Very well-put, dmr. Your concerns basically echo those of just about everyone I know who also supported President Trump….intelligent, well-informed professionals who certainly don’t deserve the opposition’s slanderous labeling as irredeemable reprobates who belong to their so-called “basket of deplorables!” Just for that egregiously condescending characterization espoused by their candidate alone, the left earned their richly-deserved defeat!

Sorry, you were fooled by the SnakeOil Salesman – dmr! He has filled his swamp more so than any past US President in history. GLDMNSCHS

His first born daughter is a white house employee now, so she can be crtiqued just like any other government official.

“This white house has contempt for the rule of law.” David Gergen (served Reagan, Ford and Clinton)

You need to have courage and put our beloved country above your party.

PS. I always enjoy your soap comments.

dmr… It was much easier and fun to compare opinions and thoughts with others on MF before politics got involved. So I am commenting less. Especially with others who have supported, and still do, the behavior, words, and actions of campaigner and now president Trump. Certainly not our country’s finest moments as a democracy. And getting scarier by the day. And I have to think not a way to run a bank such as yours. And examples which would have gotten some negative comments on MF if character/s had acted the way he has.

No; it wasn’t easier, Rose. You just stayed away from the conflict. There is nothing new here…

TY, dmr. So depressing. Such a monumental job and so stressful. I remember President Obama’s hair turning grey almost immediately after taking office.
I just wish the focus would be on what’s really important. Safety, jobs, the economy, the future of our children….and, of course, our soaps…LOL, well said, my friend.

Nine trillion in debt when that loser left

I’m out until this can become a soap opera site again. Very disappointed in the disrespect people have for one another and their RIGHT to choose.

hi toscanti ..
I had a laugh or two reading this thread..
No one is disrespecting another or taking anyones right to choose from them thay are in heated opinions.

Ahhh gotta love the 1st admedment !!
——– This thread is America !!

Well said, su!

I’m with you on this, su. Let everyone say what they want. Just find it amusing???, and incredibly frustrating that some who cry foul the most because they feel they are being “picked” on are just the same ones who dump on others and characters in much the way their “boss” in DC has in the campaign and continues to do so. Thin skinned anyone?

Or end their comments with a religious phrase, while supporting what I would call positions that some like might call ungenerous, at least to what I was brought up to believe in.

Or allow Trump to be”potty mouth” in his campaign “resume” for the biggest job in the US. And say things about women, but still hang on to what Clinton did with Monica as a reason for not liking Hillary. And I really dislike what he did…I watched him as he lied to all of us on national tv that he had had no “carnal” relations with her. But Trump’s not much better in this regard, and revealed itself during his recent campaign, not iin the past as with Clinton.

Or some think everyone in Hollywood or the entertainment industry aren’t smart enough to read or understand anything beyond a script. Or be generous. Fct check anyone? Or just a broad bias. They just have a different way of reaching an larger audience because of their name regognition, similar in a way that DT who also uses his pulpit and tweet to do the same. Fact check anyone???

FYI…I just saw Antonio in a sci-fi movie in which he was the liberal disagreeing with the conservative general and military on how to solve a catastrophic problem. Guess you can cross lines for a part in a film, and in this case he won.

This won’t be a soap opera site into the future if TRUMP’s TRASH keeps interrupting our soap operas all the time.

Nancy Lee Grahn’s Star-Studded ALS Fundraiser Reveals “I’ll Be There” Video Featuring Soap Opera Notables

Talk about your impressive line-up! It’s a soap fans dream and for a great cause. General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) is prepping her one-night only ALS fundraiser which will feature many of her friends and co-stars.

The benefit is set for May 4th in Glendale, California. Slated to participate are Genie Francis, Jane Elliot, Peter Bergman, Maurice Benard, Eileen Davidson, Thorsten Kaye, Michelle Stafford, Stephen Nichols, Rena Sofer, Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Claire Egan, Maura West, Kristina Wagner, Gregory Harrison, Trevor St. John, Kate Mansi, Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, and many others.

On Wednesday, Grahn took to her social media and released an “I’ll be there” video shout-out featuring, Monaco, Elliot, Bergman, Bernard, West, Harrison, St. John and more. In a touching and important moment in the new video, Michelle Strogny, who is battling ALS, is featured.

Photo: ABC

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

For information on Nancy’s event, including the stars who are s scheduled to participate click here. To purchase tickets to the event click here.

Check out the video featuring Nancy’s friends and co-stars below.  Now let us know, your thought son the line-up for the benefit and helping raise awareness and funds for ALS research via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Learns Britt Died and Tells Anna He Has Been Working For Cates Since November 2021

On the Tuesday, March 26th of General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and the viewers learn about where Jason (Steve Burton) has been for over two and half years. However, Jason gets some news of his own.

Anna is visiting Jason at the PCPD interrogation room. She asks him if he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which he flatly denies. Anna believes him, but she tells Jason it doesn’t matter, because video footage shows him on the roof at the time of the shooting

When talk turns to Jason not willing to speak without his lawyer present, Anna can’t grasp why Jason would instead spend an hour alone talking with John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

Photo: ABC

It is then that Anna brings up that John went by “Jagger” and that the two of them knew each other in high school. Jason doesn’t recall much of his time in high school following his brain injury, but then he gets furious realizing John knew about “Jason’s” past. That is when Jason slams the table and tells Anna, “I’ve been working for John Cates since November 2021.”

Next, Jason explains further that he has been working as an informant for the FBI. Anna wants to know how this came about and he tells her that after the tunnel collapsed, and he couldn’t make it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)… all of a sudden he sees Anna’s face drop.  Anna is the first person to tell him that Britt died and was murdered. She tells Jason the killer is in custody, but he continues to be shocked, overwhelmed with tears welling up in his eyes. Realizing he has to pivot to save his life, Jason continues telling Anna how he wound up working with John.

Jason explains that after the tunnel collapse in Greece, FBI agents grabbed him and placed him under arrest and took him to Quantico where he met John. At Quantico, John played a recording of RICO violations and offered Jason a deal if he agreed to be an informant against Pikeman, the illegal arms dealer.

Anna hears from Jason that he thinks Pikeman is selling illegal arms to anyone flagged by the NSA but has ties to the WSB which they needed a civilian to infiltrate their organization as a military soldier, a mercenary.

Jason tells Anna he was a part of the team brought into eliminate Sonny (Maurice Benard). Every time an attempt was made on Sonny’s life over the last two years, a different team was sent to do the job. Anna gets furious when she learns that John told Jason his job was to kill Sonny and she was with John at the warehouse that night. Jason ensured the sniper missed Sonny and left the rifle behind. However, they were supposed to meet an extraction team. Before he was shot, Dante saw it was Jason on the roof and when he turned around with his hands over his head, Dante was shot by the other guy. Jason says if Dante dies, he’ll be charged with capital murder and then will be useless to the FBI.

Photo: ABC

Meanwhile, John visits Bobbie’s and runs into Carly (Laura Wright). She learns Jason is in custody and is going to head to the PCPD. Before she does, Carly has some words with Cates when she learns not only does John have a vendetta against Sonny, but Jason too.  Carly tells John he should recuse himself from the case.

So, what did you think about the moment when Jason learned Britt died? What do you think of Jason’s return storyline thus far and what we learned about Jagger/Jason and more? Comment below. But first, check out a moment from today’s GH with Jason and Anna.
