CONFIRMED: Steve Burton Returning To General Hospital!

Everyone can finally take a deep breath! It has been confirmed by none other than ABC and General Hospital themselves in a promo that aired following Wednesday’s episode of the ABC daytime drama series that indeed, two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Steve Burton is returning to his old stomping grounds where for over 22 years he played the character of Jason Morgan.
The question is, what role is Steve going to be playing when he returns to Port Charles? The new promo teaser does not give fans a clue, but leaves it open for much speculation.
Currently, Billy Miller plays the role of Jason. Could the series be setting up a two Jasons storyline, or is something else a brewin’?
Back in December of last year, Burton exited his role of Dylan McAvoy on The Young and the Restless which he played from 2012-2016.
So, excited that Steve is coming home to GH? Who will he play? Comment below. But first watch the promo heralding his return after the jump.
I don’t feel he has any loyalty. He left GH saying he was not going to be working far from home. i hope they don’t have him the role of Jason. Billy Miller does a great job. Whatabout a distantly related Q. That way he can be a Q but when he decides to leave a major figure will not be leaving.
Steve walked out of GH because he wanted to live in Kentucky and be a family man/whatever.
He then went directly to Y&R.
Bringing Steve back is a ratings ploy without much punch.
A curiosity for a month.
Only story that will work;
Billy/Jason was created by Helena and Real Jason was on ice..
Now the Real Jason is returning and Helena’s Jason is totally screwed ..
I do not like it..
It has to do with loyalty to fans
and
screwing over Billy and Rebecca.
and– without a mob Jason/Stone Cold has no purpose .

What can Steve bring to GH ??
After walking out going to Y&R as Dylan and now returning to GH just what purpose does his return have?
He was Stone Cold/Jason for 22yrs.
Steve has to be returning as Jason or he has no purpose.
There is no other character Steve could be but Jason.
And, without Sonny and the mob Steve’s Jason would be a huge fail.
And that is a total screw over on Billy Miller.

I will be very mad if they get rid of Billy. I actually like his Jason more than Steve’s. Of course part of that is the writing. The more Jason stays away from being “stone cold” the happier I am. I hope your guess is not right su0000 but it sounds like something the writers would do. I would hate it.
It is impossible for Steve to any other character than Jason..
Steve was Jason, Stone cold for 2 decades 22 years.
Jason is who he is and Stone Cold is what he is Sonny’s hit man..
There is no other character for Steve to be than Jason, none that would be accepted.
There is no way Steve as another character could be around Sam and kids Michael and Sonny and Moana as a different character, it would fail.
Without a doubt Steve will be Jason and Billy/Jason will be out as being a Hellena creation.
Ha ha! Suoo, you crack me up but you also make some good points. I love Miller but he never seemed like Stonecold to me. His natural effervescence just bubbled to the surface which warmed up the cool exterior.
Here’s a crazy thought–make Billy Miller turn out to be AJ. He’s already had re constructive plastic surgery. Moreover, his DNA might match Jason’s. Helena brainwashed AJ after brining him back to life.
That way, we’d have the Q brothers back and Billy Miller gets to stay

The Billy Miller as AJ has been mentioned before. LOL…Sam would be a tad freaked out. But, I don’t see it. And I don’t think Burton’s going to be on for long. They just love to promote these things to get fan reaction/ratings. Not to say I’m not curious. I am, and I’ll watch. But I think Miller’s here to stay; or at least I hope he is. I like him even though he’s not THE Jason Morgan that Burton played. I really don’t care. I just like the guy, “Jason” as he is now.
Deviating somewhat, I can’t believe that he’s never once asked about AJ…that he still barely has a relationship with Monica (who we’re seeing more of lately; she looks great!) and his closeness to Michael has gone out the window. They started buddying him up with Curtis and that, too, seems to have been dropped. They need to get some charts going to keep track of who is supposed to be in the other’s circle. They really fail at family/friend relationships…
And I DETEST Sonny and his “disappointment” that the “new” Jason won’t sacrifice his life, the one he just got back…complete with a newborn baby, wife and two other sons…to take over the mob. I mean…Sonny’s gotta go. Maybe Burton’s new character can take him out. Too much to ask? hahahah.

I think it could prove interesting to see how TPTB will “finagle” their way around this one.
As far as Burton….does he need the money? Maybe, his family business in Nutrition was a big flop?
Ps, su….I seem to remember some fans moaning and groaning over Steve B leaving and Billy M taking his place. They were not happy campers….neither did we, Y&R fans, want to lose BM as B Abbott…phew—confusing, LOL.
Now, I see that most are not on board with his return. I don’t know what to think as I was not too familiar with Steve as Jason.

Oh, suooo, I am so upset about this.. if this disloyal actor snaps his fingers, producers come running. If they screw over Billy M., I’m not responsible for my actions (permanently giving up GH). Hopefully they’ll accommodate both. I need comfort.
I totally agree why bring him back stupid if you ask me.
I have no enthusiasm for his return. Never cared for him as an actor. Billy brings some humanity to his acting which Steve doesn’t express. Certainly hope this doesn’t mean Billy is leaving.
Sonny is stepping down. So I think he is going to be the real Jason but Sam will choose Billy. He will take over for Sonny and Sam won’t want that.
Steve Burton most likely will have something to with Sam’s rotting brain..

Rebecca, I think we ought to believe what Burton does rather than what he says (like another person we all know). It’s hard for me to fathom that Burton is coming back on a temporary basis but we will see. I always thought Burton was an underrated and understated actor and yet, he can bring forth a smoldering intensity like no actor I have ever seen. He’s good. I respect and admire both he and Miller as actors and would really prefer it if they could both stay on without it being awkward or without it turning into a “who wore it better?” contest. I completely agree with you about how selfish, narcissistic and immature Sonny is being as far as needing Jason to forfeit his basic civil right to pursue happiness with his family. But the day Sonny decides to act like a selfless grown up is the day a seventy-one year old man decides to act presidential. In other words, it’s not going to happen.
I bet he’s just back for some flashback scenes when Helena kidnapped him. That way they can show what Jake ‘saw’ Jason do on the island.
I think he may just be a flashback, too. In Sam (and maybe) lil Jake’s mind. I’d be really surprised if Burton was planning on coming back for the long haul.
He signed a long term contract according to the head writer so he’s back for the long haul.

Bill is an ok actor but he does not have that rough edge about him like Steve Burton does. In my opinion he made Jason seem whimpy…
I agree 100% . My mom watched Gh since the 60s. Seen slot come and go but when they took Burton off she gave Gh Up and still refuses to watch it. Gh has fans returning cuz of Burton. He’s always been The Best Jason hon. Billy is ok for a choir boy but not as Jason Morgan. I’d like them to get Kelly Monaco back to the show she came from. She’s had Jax Sonny Jason Silas, Oh and was dating Lucky when he had drug issues! He was still a married man. Slept with step dad Rick. I mean her role is stale stale stale! She’s cute good figure but augmentation has been done since her pirating days meeting Jax. Too big for her petite body size.
To those thinking Steve is only back temporary, he’s not. He’s back for the long term according to the head writer. He’s signed a long term contract. Billy has also just renewed his contract so he’s not leaving either. The head writer said that the 2 Jason’s storyline won’t be complete for 9 months! Gahhh talk about dragging something out! I’m elated the “real” Jason is back, but truly hope Billy keeps a front burner storyline which it seems he will. This should be interesting. Just wish it wasn’t going to be drawn out for 9 months before we get definitive answers. The “new” Jason has just never bonded with the people the “real” Jason was close to. That speaks volumes on who will end up the real Jason. Him and Carly were very best friends and Michael was like his own son, the new Jason has barely had any interaction with either. Welcome back Steve Burton!
PLEASE be a good story. It seems clear that SB will be Jason and BM was brain washed to believe he was Jason. Regardless of who BM is, the change of appearance is explained easily because of the surgery. But to me, who BM is is the key to the story. BM can’t just be Jake Doe (or some other person with no PC connection). He needs to be someone who has a history in PC. The first person who pops to mind would be AJ (2 on screen deaths be damned). Another name that came to mind was Nik, but that would require way too much history changing since BM and TC shared many on screen moments. Lucky comes to mind as well, but wouldn’t Laura realize her son was missing? Just a few thoughts. Anyone else have any theories?? One thing I fully believe is that SB is not replacing BM. I’ve seen so many posts where people believe that to be the case. I just don’t think that’s even remotely possible.
Robin saw Jason in the freezer therefore BM should not be brainwashed. He ws hit by a car I believe by someone on show and needed surgery at GH rendering him with amnesia.
He was hit by Ava I think. You’re right about Robin and now that you mention it, I think she saw SB Jason (with his face never shown on camera). However, i don’t think that’d stop the writers from going this route.
What a stroke of genius, Alan. BM as AJ. That presumption is exquisite. Many of us would be so happy, albeit it would not be SK.
I don’t think anyone can top that theory, Alan……then again, I am the last to make any suggestions, as I am not well-versed in GH history.
Sonny is going to be confused…he will have to sniff them to see which one is his real true love…lol…however, i hope there is a reasonable explanation because Robin was involved and seen Jason(Billy M,) and knew he was Jason before the plastic surgery…they will have to rewrite this..
@CeeCee…Orrrrr….how about conversely, Steve Burton as AJ??? Since Sean K probably has a snowball’s chance in Hades to ever reprise his role on GH, if we do get this beloved character back to the canvas, it shall have to be in the guise of another actor. During their shared times in Port Charles, the striking resemblance between these two guys was always remarked upon….hence I suppose this would be a somewhat palatable and authentic way to bring back AJ. But there are a number of other scintillating possible scenarios as well: First of all, what if that initial porkypie Heather told about Jason having a twin were really the truth, only, of course, it hadn’t been her actual son Franco as she once vehemently insisted, but an honest-to-goodness identical who has been roaming the earth for all these years unnoticed? Then again, perhaps Burton will be an Helena homegrown Jason “clone” courtesy of the Cassadine Island lab shop of horrors, or simply a miracle of plastic surgery she designed to be a Jason doppelganger to still sow seeds of doubt that Billy Miller’s character is indeed the genuine article (which I prefer to believe, since I totally accept this actor as the real Jason, no reason to upset that applecart at this late date….) Lastly, Burton could simply be a completely unrelated stranger who stumbles into Port Charles unaware how his uncanny looks relate to original recipe Jason, a long lost generic Q (Maybe of indeterminate issue?) or more specifically, another product of Alan’s wandering loins….hey, it’s happened before, it can happen again! At any rate, I hope this will be a well-done and logical event that will prove absorbing and enjoyable for new and vintage GH-ers alike, although it’s way past due for this show to return to its storied roots and legacy players for which longtime loyal fans have been clamoring for an absolute age!

Burton’s Jason could be a figment of Sam’s imagination….so real and lucid in her deluded perception that she may have an honest-to-goodness conversation with him.
Perhaps he’s her cure-all; her salvation. He reasons with her, in her head?
Either way, I never thought any storyline involving Sam would hold my attention….this one does. LOL.

Then again, if Burton is making only a short-term guest appearance, then perhaps his tale will be told with that lame old chestnut of a device of flashbacks….And what if this whole storyline will end up having little or nothing to do with Sam, nuJason or the Q’s?….Maybe this is another showboating spectacle scheme for Sonny (God forbid!) and he’ll be experiencing visions of his beloved Jason as he waxes nostalgic with Carly about how this character’s once primary purpose for living was to serve and protect the Corinthii as their personal concierge of criminality. However, I certainly hope I’m wrong about that last suggestion!

Billy does not play a tough guy, He is too timid for the job of Jason Morgan. With cry baby Sam the story does not fit the Billy- Jason role.

After all these speculations and scenarios, Burton may simply be part of Sam’s bout with ‘lunacy’.

I disagree. Billy as Jason is still a “tough guy” much to my and others dismay. That’s all he’s done since he got back is go into dangerous situations. He almost lost his life trading places with Robin in the elevator while a bomb was ticking, he investigated the “mysterious woman” which turned out to be Olivia Jerome, he’s gotten into innumerable fights or threatened to do so since he’s been back, he investigated who really put the bomb in Sonny’s car that killed Morgan and he just jetted over to Puerto Rico to face a would-be assassin of Sonny. LOL. He may not officially be “the enforcer” but there’s no difference in his job description.
As for Sam, I think her worries are actually rational. They may not be typical for HER…and yes, she’s seeing hallucinations so we know something’s off…but objectively, who wouldn’t worry about a husband you finally got back from the dead who was brainwashed, tortured…and now is back to putting himself in life-threatening scenarios. Not only does she run the risk of losing her great love yet again…but they’ve got a little boy and a newborn! There’s nothing “cry baby” about that. It’s normal. Again, it’s obviouis there’s something going on but her fears are valid. And long overdue.

Bully too whimsy to play Jason even after his change. Before they showed his face all bandaged we lifers of Gh that watched Burton grow up on show. U could tell little Billy wasn’t height, shoulders near as muscular as Burton. Years ago before drunken AJ jr. Wrecked Burton and caused brain injury our enforcer Birton was a resident dr at GH. Very smart then the accident. Jason & Liz has tried to get together for years. Kelly Monaco feels acts like her 2 with Jason should take a more important role than their Liz & Jason’s boy Jake. Sam plays crazy well. If she succeeds which she won’t killing Sonny. Well nobody would want her on the show! Baby Girl that’s in cementary is SAMs and Sonnys small time romance baby. That baby helped Sonny and Alexis girl Christina live. At that time Sam didn’t know her Mom. Wow she’s slept with both her sisters bio daddies. Just realized that! Yeah I’m a lifer with GH. Love Burton Sonny & mob roles. It keeps the show going. Btw what happened to Maxie’s disappearance in Utah or wherever. Nate needs his pretty wife back not thick beefy Amy not a good match.

The Jason character was painted in to a corner years ago. When SB joined Y&R I hoped we’d see something different. Nope. SB doesn’t have much for range.
Sam Jason fans are real and probably quite happy. The rest of us would rather see their screen time given to other characters like Laura.
I am a Sam and Jason fan, but I agree Burton is one note. How he won an Emmy on Y&R is beyond me. Billy Miller is a much better actor. I like him as Jason and I still say Sam and Jason are better with him in the role. I am hoping Steve Burton is NOT Jason. I am hoping that he is a pawn that Helena put in place before dying. Maybe Helena is alive after all. I don’t know… do we know how long Steve Burton has decided to return for?

I feel so sorry Billy Miller if he becomes the next John Black, changing identities every time a new writer decided he should be someone else— the best way to make this work is to have SB be the Fake Jason– otherwise they will fall into the same pit DOOL did with the John Black character

Marlena could not get him to leave the computer and he was a real drag at social gatherings blabbing on and on about his ancestry. “I thought I was one quarter Scottish but it turns out I am only 1/5 Scottish and I am 1/9 Cherokee Indian and blah, blah, blah……” “For God’s sake man,” exclaimed Bo Brady, “give it a rest. Billy Miller has delivered on all levels as Jason, but I guess Frank wants Steve Burton back….why? He’s not needed. I guess Billy Miller is getting the Tyler Christopher treatment by ABC & GH.

As bad as the Days story was, OLTL’s Tale of Two Todds was exciting and somewhat believable (in a soap world, that is).
OLTL did two Todds and it worked…
The reason the two Todd’s worked was because Roger Howarth and Trevor St. John are both powerhouse actors. There would only be one powerhouse if GH decides to do the tale of two Jason’s and that would be Billy Miller.
Hopefully, a revival of the “Real Greenlee” campaign isn’t in the cards, you saw how that played out.

I was very upset when Steve Burton left GH but I have grown to really like Billy Miller as Jason. So, it would be really weird having two Jasons.
I thought it was a missed opportunity when they could have used Stevie B in the island flashbacks when he was being brainwashed/trained as Helena’s soldier recently during the Nurses Ball leadup.
Burton’s contract with Y&R no doubt stipulated a waiting period before he could appear on another soap, and that particular event you described most likely fell within that time-restriction. He is probably appearing on GH as soon as he is legally permitted to do so….
This could be the shot of adrenaline this show needs!
Here’s my theory (pardon me if you saw it on another thread)
Burton will be playing Jason Quartermaine while Miller plays Jason Morgan. At time of the car accident with drunken AJ, Jason Q was captured. In his place, his unbeknownst twin was dropped in. When he woke, the twin had no memories of any childhood, and thus had no bond with the Q’s (except Lila). Everyone just accepts the memory loss and severe personality change as a result of the accident. In 2017, Jason Q (Burton) either wakes up from a coma or breaks free from his captors to return to PC to claim what’s his. Jason M (Miller) starts to research his childhood, starting with Heather (who always knew Susan had twins)
This is the ONLY storyline guess I have heard that would remotely keep my interest.
Yes! Steve Burton is back. He will be the new Sonny-mob boss in town. Since Sonny is quitting there you go, A new mob boss or the new/old Jason. Out with Billy as Jason. He is too wimpy for the mob world.

Steve is a really nice guy, I don’t mind that he’s returning but I hope they don’t mess with Billy Miller, he has been fantastic as Jason…..please let Steve be another character, even a revived AJ!

Billy is about 12-15 years too young (even with plastic surgery) to be AJ.
As much as I miss the character, unfortunately, AJ is a permanent goner.
SB is one of the most boring actors to grace soaps why does GH feel the need to come back just because he has his travel routine down it’s ok to turn up again like a bad penny??? Not like liking forward to seeing what storyline is drummed up

Well they will probably drag the storyline out and what is really wrong about this whole thing is that Billy Jason has already been confirmed through facial recognition and through DNA to be Jason. I can’t think of any news that would make me less interested in tuning in to GH.
If GH is thinking of ripping off The Tale of Two Todds from OLTL, they need to remember that storyline was a success thanks to a combination of two very strong actors (Roger Howarth and Trevor St. John) and Ron Carlivati’s carefully plotted story which respected the show’s history. The Todd storyline was a game changer for so many characters on that show — Blair, Tea, Starr, Jack, Viki, Dani, Sam — because they were allowed to grow/evolve and the revelation made them re-examine everything they had believed for so many years. GH, on the other hand, never allows its characters to grow; every storyline seems to end with a reset leaving the characters in the same place where they started with no insight as to how their actions have consequences.

I, actually, have no faith that it will follow the logic Shay hopes….I doubt she does either. We shall see.
So far, since I have been watching, I have yet to see a ‘logicallly’ satisfying conclusion to any storyline. No ending, at all, really.

I dont really care for him but he IS Jason to me and I just liked him in the role a lot. I didn’t like him on y&r at all.
I wonder if this will be a contract roll for Steve or just a quickie.
Perhaps, he will take over Sonny’s territory, now that the plot line is leading that Sonny wants to leave the mob?????

I was a huge Steve Burton as Jason fan, but have really grown to love Billy Miller in the role. He’s so much more versatile a performer and I have no interest in re-watching the old Jason again.
The ret-con job that would have to be pulled off to make SB Jason again is boring and unimaginative; I much prefer the SB as Jason’s twin/new character angle.
All of that being said, I’d rather keep Hayden and Finn than just about 1/2 the cast (including SB). They charismatic, engaging, and fun as hell to watch. I cannot believe they’re letting Rebecca Budig go – a decision definitely worth revisiting.

Jason Thompson is portraying Billy as more adult and layered than millers version. Towards the end of millers run he was phoning it in..but Thompson is always on it
plus he has so much chemistry wth tognoni and heinle
I totally disagree about Jason Thompson’s snarky, hateful interpretation of Billy Abbott but I agree I don’t want Billy Miller back on Y&R. Once a role is recast, it’s hard to put someone back in the role again. If they would start giving GH actors more worthy, deeper storylines, a lot of problems would be solved.
True, that, Soaphound. I have mourned the loss of Miller’s Billy Abbott as much as Muhney’s Adam.
I did say, many a time, if the essence of a character would ever be recaptured once he/she has left…….it remains to be seen what we will “feel” once Muhney is back.
Don’t want Steve Burton back. He is a one-note actor that got lucky and then became ungrateful, lied and said he was leaving soaps but was really following his pal, soap killer Jill Pharrsn Phelps to Y&R, where he was a totally boring chatacter. No loyalty to GH. Hopefully it’s a short term role.
I totally agree on the “one-note actor” thing. He has been employed so long solely due to his looks.
Thank you, Yvonne and Kevin. Billy can act circles around soaphopper Burton and, apparently, is far more humble and agreeable on set.
I will be happy to just see Jake Doe again… thereby giving Billy Miller a whole new lease on character evolve.

Snoozefest. One Jason is boring enough…
Exactly!! Burton sleepwalks through his scenes and stares off into space. He does his best at his Maurice Bernard style of acting. The only difference is that Burton can say his lines without stammering and stuttering like Maurice.
Both actors and characters are sleep inducing.
I’m thrilled he is returning. He made Jason into the iconic GH character that he is.
oh god here we go again, hope this doesn’t turn into the jason 1 jason 2 sonny , carly, and sam show. i could of tolerated his return if it wasn’t at the expense of other talent like Rebecca Budiig, so i’m not happy bout this right now..
I am torn over which way this could go and should go. I don’t want to see Billy Miller getting fired but at the same time, I am a little excited to see Steve Burton coming back. i know i couldn’t buy Steve as a new character but to have him come back as Jason would be upsetting to Billy Miller’s fans. I guess I wait and see how this plays out before I bitch about something. And I know something will run me the wrong way!!!
they could be long lost cousins or GH could do a who is the real Jason like OLTL did with the two Todds. I dont really care if Burton returns as I am used to Miller who is a good actor.
SB has to come back as Jason. Otherwise, they could have hired anyone to be that “someone else”. But why has he decided to disrupt things. His word is tough to believe as he never did what he said he would when he left GH the last time or Y&R either for that matter. He’s always claimed to want to leave to spend time with his family on both soaps. He never did that – what are we to believe? I find him to be truthful for the moment and that’s it. Now having said all that, I do believe that BM is no Jason, but he is a great actor. There has never been a JASAM since SB left. BM is a great character, but he is no Jason. SB & KM are the only ones to make up JASAM. OK I’m done now. LOL

As a Y&R viewer, this is GREAT news!!! This means the chances of Burton returning as DULLan are very slim.
GH should make it an easy transition: Let Billy Miller go so Burton can slide into his old role. Miller can then return to Y&R as Billy Abbott. Both actors would be where they belong.
How exciting would it be to find out that Billy Miller was AJ. What a crazy storyline especially having a child with Sam. Billy Miller could take AJ to new heights. As Stone cold, there’s no where to go in my opinion. This storyline, if written right could blow the hell out of daytime. And who was behind all this mess……..Helena. It’s all part of her curse on Sam.
Don’t want him back, I agree with “Steve walked out of GH because he wanted to live in Kentucky and be a family man/whatever and then he went directly to Y&R.” He lied to us and I found it unforgivable. Really like Billy Miller as Jason now. Don’t want any change there. I can only see maybe Helena is at it again and is trying to mess with Sam and Jason not realizing the real Jason had his face changed due to that crash. Hope SB works without a contract because he’s unreliable.

Billy Miller has done an excellent job of bringing a new vibe to Jason character – he did not play him as ‘stone cold’ rather played him as a guy with no memory and trying to make things work. Steve Burton may come back in Sam’s dreams but I hope not as a character that does away with Billy Miller’s Jason.
I welcome Steve back in any role! He’s great!
I think he’ll be the old Jason in Sam’s confused mind. She’s already hallucinating so many things, this would make sense, and would keep Billy Miller in the role of Jason now. Can’t see Steve Burton coming back for too long.

General Hospital’s Adam J. Harrington Weighs-in On John and Carly, and How it’s ‘Starting to Get Very Complicated”
On recent episodes of General Hospital, Carly (Laura Wright) came to John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) rescue as he was beaten down in an assault. Carly put on her “nurses cap,” sort of speak, and got John to his hotel room and watched over to him, to make sure he didn’t lose consciousness.
GH fans also got their first glimpse of what may be a new romance for Carly, if she and John continue to bond. If John and Carly were to have a relationship, it would certainly have a ripple effect with Jason (Steve Burton) and Sonny (Maurice Benard).
Adam J. Harrington shared his view on the scenes and what might be next between the two. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, Harrington shared, “I thought it was written in a way where there’s an understanding and a respect between them both. I don’t think there was any moment where she was not aware that he’s an FBI agent, and there was no moment that he wasn’t aware of her history and relationship to other people in the town. I really liked it. I was really looking forward to shooting it with Laura and we had a really nice time shooting it.”

When Carly and John part ways, it seems there were some romantic sparks, as Harrington puts it, “Isn’t that interesting that sometimes with people, the one moment they actually show how they feel is when they know there’s an escape hatch. They know they’re about to walk away. So, it’s almost safe in that moment to do it. I thought that was really special about how (the writers) handled John and Carly. Even the music in that scene was beautifully done.”
Where is this all heading? Conflict! Internally and professionally, and as Adam explains, “Who Carly was to John on paper as just a tool to be used as bait is starting to get very complicated.”

General Hospital’s Steve Burton Reveals the Emotional Scene He Almost Could Not Get Through
On a recent episode of General Hospital, Jason received a message from his mother, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) via a note. The effect it had on Jason’s portrayer, Steve Burton turned out to be quite visceral.
As GH fans know, although Jason’s bio-mom was Susan Moore, he was raised and adopted by Monica. Speaking on his Daily Drama podcast with his co-host and GH co-star, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Steve shared some insight on the difficulties he had getting through that scene.
Burton shared that in the key moment, “Brooklyn (played by Amanda Setton) came in and that’s where she gave me (Jason) the letter from Monica. That was a very hard scene for me to do. That was a tough one. That was the one time I was almost going to call ‘cut!’ It read ‘Jason, I believe in you.’ I was literally going to walk off the set.”

To clarify and in the story, Monica was saying “I believe in you” and that she knows Jason didn’t shoot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). Steve added, “It was tough, man. Emotionally, it was a tough scene. It was overwhelming in the moment.”
Steve went on to detail to Anderson, “She (Brook Lynn) pushed it to me and I read it and she was walking out and I had to stop her, but I was so emotional I couldn’t even get it out. And at that point, I’m like, ‘Do I just keep going … or do I just walk off the set right now?’ But, I knew just to stay, because it’s so hard to get back there, once you shut it down. I knew, the next take wasn’t going to be the same.”

It’s clear that Leslie Charleson is so missed on-screen as Monica by all of her castmates, and that Jason and Monica had a very special mother/son relationship throughout the decades on GH.

George Russo to Appear on General Hospital as Carmine Cerullo
Coming up, it looks like Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) grandfather, Carmine Cerullo is headed to Port Charles.
According to casting news from the ABC soap opera, George Russo will take on the role. Russo will tape his episode next week on April 15th and will appear on the May 15th episode of the long-running daytime drama series.
If George looks familiar he has been in numerous primetime television shows and motion pictures including: The Offer. Winning Time, Grand Crew and Shameless.

Longtime GH viewers will recall that Lois’ (Rena Sofer) dad, Carmine, was previously showed up in Port Charles on and off from 1994 to 1996 and was played by John Capudice.
Clearly, it seems that Carmine will be a part of Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s wedding. Will it go off without a hitch? Are you looking forward to it? Stay tuned.
