DAYS Casting New Actor For Contract Role! Who Would You Suggest For The Part?

The casting shifts continue over at Days of our Lives!  Now according to Soap Opera Digest, the struggling soap  is casting the role of “Drew”.  Just what is a “Drew”? Well according to the character breakdown, he is described as a 30-to-35-year-old well-built, Caucasian male.

Drew is said to be the ideal man in every way.  From his incredible good looks, to his sincerity, integrity and strength. He is the total package. He is smart and caring and has a way about him that puts anyone at ease. But behind his perfect facade may lie a pain that drives him to do anything to forget his past. The show is seeking “strong, experienced actors” for this contract role.

This is just the first of an influx of new faces new head scribes, we are hearing thatGary Tomlin and Christopher Whitesell want to add to the Salem scene.

Ok soapers, what actor do you think would fit the bill for this part and should get an audition for DAYS?  Let us know!

I hope he is tied to one of the main families…..maybe he is really Eric Brady???? As for who should get an audition, how abot Daniel Cosgrove?

Sounds to me like they’re looking for Cameron Mathison – alias Ryan of All My Children!

An influx of new characters is exactly what Days needs. That always works out well. There’s one Carly from General Hospital they haven’t hired yet, I think. Is there a special “sarcasm” font on this thing? I REALLY want Days to succeed, but I CANNOT, as melodramatic as it sounds, put myself, after forty years of viewership ups and owns and stress and anger from my armchair, through another downward spiral where people I have no connection to sit in two-person scenes in one room for sixty minutes talking about the same stuff every day!

How about John Paul Lavoisier from OLTL (Rex)? He’s very versatile as an actor, has alot of appeal, the man is gorgeous. I’d love to see him on TV again!

Mindy! You read my mind. JPL would be perfect.

Good choice.

Van Hansis or Eric Sheffer Stevens or Jake Silbermann

LOL. I know where your allegiance lies. Same place as mine. My first choice was Van Hansis.

How about actually keeping the vets brought back for the reboot and actually write good stories for them? I want Matthew Ashford, Christie Clark and Patrick Muldoon back.

That’s what I’m talking about Cath! Why more newbies that the audience won’t care about? We have enough of that with Chad, Gabi, and Melanie! Yet getting rid of favorites like Carrie, Austin and Jack? Even keeping Madison makes more sense. Sigh.

They’ll wait til the end and close to cancellation to cut the newbies and bring back these favorites just like the soaps that have been cancelled did. I came back to Days cause they brought back the old favorites. They’ll never learn.

Me too!!!

Josh Kelley…I think. The guy who played Cutter on OLTL. He’s good at playing multi-layered characters.

Josh Kelly was the first one who came to my mind, but he might be too young for this role. Sorry, but please, NO Cameron Matheson or Daniel Cosgrove. They would be fine if they didn’t have to act and just stood in the background looking good.

I’m hoping “Drew” is as in Andrew Donovan (son of Shane and Kim). Maybe Kyle Lowder can come back to Days in the new role. Judi Evans and others have played new roles. Someone from OLTL or AMC would be smart like John Paul Lavoisier, Mark Lawson, Forbes March, Jeff Branson… the list could go on for weeks.

Trevor St. John sounds just right.

This is good news maybe it is Eric Brady. However, the influx of new faces may see more of our VETS being shown the door which I dont like. Matt Ashford and Christie Clark have already been shown the door and I dont want Deidre and Drake to be next.

Daniel Cosgrove while a good actor, is the kiss of death for every soap he’s in ,GL, ATWT, and AMC. Jason Gerhardt would be perfect casting.

Influx of new faces…..the new headwriters want to add to the Salem scene? Oy. If they are going to fire all of the vets – again, to make room for new faces – again, It just makes the people in charge of the show look like two faced liers!
Not that I’m surprised. Days brought back Carrie and Austin before and fired them after 6 months or so. It’s deja vu all over again.

This is clearly a recast of Eric Brady, I know it is. And I’m pissed. They fired SJB (Madison) just to make way for “Drew”. If they had to cast him, I’d say: Daniel Cosgrove (Scott, AMC; Bill, GL et. all) or Jon Prescott (Mike, ATWT; Brad, River Ridge).

And if they don’t hire Jon, I’d love to see him as Lucky on “General Hospital”.

I agree. Its clearly a recast and I would only like it if Jensen Ackles came back but he is much much more successful and doesnt need this.

The actor who played Brody on OLTL! Actually the character description could be Brody! LOL

I would suggest no one. Does not make sense to me to fire perfectly good actors/characters only to hire newbies. This new Cameron character so needs to go. And I do not like nuCeleste. I get that Tanya wasn’t available, but maybe they couldn’t have worked around that. It just seems that Days is going to hell in a handbasket right now. I’m really disappointed with the story and ramifications. It’s like those writers didn’t have any respect for the show’s past or history. I hope new team can ‘write’ the ship, but with new casting calls, it doesn’t seem so.

2 words,”MARK COLLIER”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With Charles Shaughnessy slated to return as Shane Donovan, it only makes sense that “Drew” is baby Andrew, SORASed! Hope he’s not being brought in to muck up Melanie & Chad’s relationship. Or to be paired with Abby or Gabi; while these ladies are gorgeous, there’s really not a permanent place on the Days canvas for them.

I would like to see the character of Eric Brady return, too. Can you imagine the rich history he would bring to the screen? In the past, Sami’s twin was a professional, crack photography who worked at Countess Wilhelmina. And since CW has been resurrected—complete with former CEO Billie returned to Salem—why not Eric?? He and Nicole had a dynamite attraction, but that storyline only was written as Jensen Ackles was on his way out. Right now Sam could really use her brother since she’s alienated her parents, Rafe and Will.

Characters I hope they DON’T bring back are Rex and Cassie. That storyline was just awful, IMO . . . right up there with Princess Greta and Austin in the virtual Garden of Eden. Too many characters results in a fight for airtime. All the hoopla over Justin & Adrienne returning and fans aren’t getting much, other than scenes with Sonny.

I would suggest Christian Wennberg, he´s done tons of Soap and shows in Europe. Now based in Los Angeles… Look him up:)

Mark Lawson (Brody from OLTL) would be great as Drew! But this character sounds more like Brody’s friend, Wes, who was played by Justin Paul Kahn. This is a perfect role for him. Don’t know if they cast it yet, but I saw his audition and it was amazing!
And the Baby Andrew theory is a good one, because the script mentions Shane.
