Days Of Our Lives

DAYS: Nick Is Shot Through The Heart! But Who's To Blame?

Courtesy/NBC

On Friday’s episode of Days of our Lives, it was once again Blake Berris (Nick) who stole the show delivering the complex emotions of an over-the-edge and distraught Nick!

After threatening every0ne in town, and with a hit man hired by EJ (James Scott) and a knowing Sami (Alison Sweeney) looming, things were certainly coming to end for the vindictive Mr. Fallon!

After a tour de force performance by Berris in scenes with DAYS icon Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie), Nick decides to reach out to none other than Marlena for some help!  Or, was Nick making it seem like he wanted help so it’s on a recorded voice message?  No matter what ..  it’s too late!  Shots are fired to the back and to the heart of Nick and he falls to the ground.

Meanwhile, Sami, EJ, Kate, Lucas, Ben, Rafe, Gabi, Will, Sonny, have someone all ended up at Horton Town Square at exactly the same time with looks of guilt written across all of their faces!  Next, Nick stumbles in into the Horton Town Square a bloody mess  (Nice touch DAYS costume department to have Blake  wear a white T-shirt for his death scenes!) and on his last dying breath he  seemingly is about to point to his shooter!  Or, is Nick setting someone up as he always does one last time?

Watch a promo for next week’s Days of our Lives from NBC after the jump! Then, let us know what did you think of Blake’s final performance?   And after watching the set-up to the murder mystery that will play out, who do you think is the leading suspect who pulled the trigger?  Or, do you think since there were multiple shots fired that two people were responsible?

Months ago i said Nick will be shot and his killer: PERCY!!!

Its not Percy because EJ told him to leave town

That doesnt mean a thing in the world of soaps…Percy can return or maybe he never left at all!!!

I haven’t seen all of Friday’s episode yet, but I would bet it is Gabi. She is leaving soon. If it’s not Gabi, then it must be E.J. or Sami. They all are leaving the soap opera. I love it when there is a murder-mystery. If it’s just one of E.J.’s henchmen, that would be disappointing.

that hit man

Good luck to Blake Berris in his future career. He certainly plays an excellent slimy bastard. I just started watching this show. It will be interesting to see the multiple suspect murder case play out. Hopefully, I’ll learn more about the characters. I don’t think the professional hit man got him. There were too many people wandering through the park. To me, the obvious suspect is Gabi. I hope she didn’t use the gun Sonny put on the top shelf of the closet. If it wasn’t her, I’d take a look at the guy Percy.

that promo makes me sad : another good actor

Mr. Blake Berris

Patrick, I wish the soaps would stop killing characters so they would not have to bring them back from the dead. That said, I’m aching for Blake/Nick to come back! Maybe for DAYS 50th!!!!!

Nick could come back as a ghost and haunt his haters…or return as his twin brother no one knew he had?

I know about Jessica…she couldve had twins Nick and Rick Fallon…

Me too Patrick. I’m sure Blake had something to do with this exit, but I wish it weren’t so. I loved Kristen’s return last time to the fullest, but Blake is an absolute revelation who made every scene he was in scenes you could not look away from. His loss was as unexpected to me as James and Ali, but with them I know in Advance enough to savour their scenes. This was too soon with no warning! I wish Blake all the best and thank him so much for returning and offering us his masterful work. I definitely enjoyed it while it lasted!

2 points :

I wish they would stop killing characters off… as well.. especially, knowing… how charismatic and full of life… a character reels… Nick sparks, blows… and bombs

after seeing, the previews… knowing… as you both… EJ and Sami exits : Nick was another BLOW… period

it’s unnerving… that DAYS is in the mix…. and it should be in the upper echelon… the train that could… and it’s OURS… NBC… must see… i couldn’t be happier.. nevertheless

if DAYS triggers… 2nd year in a row… that’s all I need

I love Blake Berris
I love James Scott
I love Alison Sweeney

here comes Eileen Davidson
here comes Kassie DePaiva

so… thats a full house… and it’s DOOOL – Sony – NBC

I loved Nick

even before… his prison life… I can’t fathom that

the actor… Blake Berris… hot to trot

enigmatic… knows his craft… camera captures… didn’t you love his valentine scene when Gabs came home… what goes on in his mind.. triggered beyond

sexual sensual cared about loved his being

Blake is a great actor and i almost hate myself for predicting this killing months ago(i still say Percy)…now i hope a new prediction comes true: Blake returns later as his own twin brother no one knew he had?

Blake could return…as the twin no one knew he had?

jimh, I know you know Nick’s mom (Jessica) had multiple personality disorder. Plus Nick was born off camera. It would be easy for the writers to create a twin storyline. They can even write that Nick did in fact go to New York and the twin assaulted Gabi and was dropped in the river and finally shot to death.

latest issue of SOD cover :

Peter Reckell : on DAYS : “I would come back”

MTS’ Y&R : Nikki dumps Victor – LOL for how long? I wish she could be fun… even if it means imbibing and living it up!

This is the best time for Peter Reckell to help get through the exits:

James Scott
Alison Sweeney
Blake Berris

I have to wonder about Nick…. no MF headline stating he’s leaving the show? has any one heard… or is it that obvious

Maybe Rick Fallon(Blake Beris) will shock all when he shows up at the courthouse during Nicks(his twin) murder trial…shocker!!!

I think because Nick was on the phone leaving a message for Marlena he might have said something knowing could be admitted into court as his dying declaration. However the person he claims shot him may not have been the shooter.I’m thinking Nick claimed Will shot him because Will threatened to kill him and it’ll be Nick’s last attempt to keep Will from been a father to Arianna Grace. Also maybe it’ll turn out there was more than one shooter. As for who the real shooter is it could be EJ’s hitman but the evidence could point to Will. Then Sami and EJ will be screwed.

It’s like “Clue” – Gabi with the gun Sonny left in the Eavesdropping Closet, though secretly I’m hoping it was Ciara.

They should search her book bag!

What about Caroline or even little Johnny…Caroline couldve mistaken Nick for a mugger and little Johnny couldve found out Nick was being a meanie to his parents and is upset they all are leaving town…or what if Chaz Bono got upset because Nick said something bad about Sonny and Chaz thought he meant Sonny Bono and not Kiriakas?…lol

Percy

all i can say is that his last scenes with the multiple range of emotions was just extraordinary – the character of nick fallon was horrible but blake’s acting was superb …..

Amazing performance by Blake Berris, Emmy worthy, to be sure. And I disliked Nick intensely, which was the purpose of what Nick was doing.

While the hitman might have got off one shot, I have a feeling he did not, and I think there are 2 shooters, maybe even 3. Days loves to recycle, and I remember when all those people were in church with a gun, wanting to shoot EJ, when Sami was being forced to marry him. There were a few stray shots, but one definitely got him in the back, and he still carries that one.
So, With so much greenery to hide behind, there could have a few out there. Gabi, and yes, there was a reason Percy became unhappy with what Nick was doing. Kate. Lucas???
Even Julie herself.

Blake done a very good job in acting this out made it so real . I had to feel sorry for him. I always felt he was a good actor. I hate to see him go. He brought something to days to look forward in what he would do next. I think it going to look like Gabi maybe it Lucas.

Blake gave an excellent performance !
My money is on Gabby for the shooting. I think that Ej and Sami are going to assume it was their ” gun for hire ” that got the job done, but it will later be revealed that he was beat to the punch, leaving Ej and Sami to wonder who actually fired the shot. I believe that Gabby is going to find the gun that Sonny got from Victors house in her apartment and is going to finally snap and shoot Nick.

I am also thinking it’ll be Gabi.Maybe she finds Sonny’s gun and in her mind she realizes she’s the one who let Nick into their lives and now she’s got to be the one to get rid of him. However when Will and Sonny find out the gun is missing they might assume the other shot Nick and each tries to take the blame.Plus maybe EJ’s hitman shot Nick in the back but someone else shot him in the chest. So Nick might have assumed whoever he saw when he turned around fired all the bullets.Plus maybe Nick getting killed is less a mystery because of Gabi leaving in a few weeks and her been the killer as her exit story and more about all the secrets he knew about certain characters coming out.

SPOILER ALERT!

Since I saw Nick’s scar, I had a nagging suspicion he’s the new Todd. Kudos to the writers making Nick renewable in the 61st second. It was an excellent show and Nick may be “dead”for a while anyway. But with Kassie coming on and half the cast leaving???

I started watching Days when One Life went off, and it’s been really good… but This episode is what I’be been waiting for. General H these days is like R C and F V are still in panic mode or just trauamatized? …I cried at Duke’s funeral way back when and felt nothing at AJ’s ???!

Maybe I just like “the adopted child” but Nick ain’t goin nowhere. Blake Berris is awesome and the writers know it!!!

I am a died in the wool OLTL fan having watched from day one until the last online episode last year. I miss my beloved show so very much. Started watching Days about a month ago after 2 years of enduring Y&R. I must say Days is much better than Y&R and I can see myself getting into it. I have definitely noticed all the familiar faces from GH and AMC. Plus, the show’s production is more in line with what I’m used to. Am looking forward to the arrival of Kassie DePaiva.

Echoing others- Blake is a terrific actor! He plays creepy scarily well! 🙂

To Llanviewer ~ yeah, I’m missing my abc soap ALL MY CHILDREN very much (and the on-line version was awful) and now, for the past four months or so, I’ve become a fan of Days of Our Lives for the same reasons you mentioned – small town, everyone knows everybody’s business, the characters are inter-connected (a factor that was badly missing on the On line versions of both One Life and AMC, shows were horribly disconnected albeit well-acted) – and the writing on Days of Our Lives is pretty interesting. So I think the fans that have switched over to Days of Our Lives because of ABC’s historical Bad decision is ABC’s lost and NBC’s gain.
I need my “soap fix” somewhere and Days of Our Lives now provides it.

well I seriously doubt if you’re shot in the “heart” you would be able to get up and walk from the park to the square—but it made for good melodrama, and how fortunate that all the major suspects just happened to be all standing there for him to point at.

Mine first thought was Nick planned to get shot to pin it on Will, but if he is dead then it unlikely he was behind his own murder. But if survives that would be my guess. My second thought if he is really dead, would be as others have stated Gabi– but it would be hoot if they went with the classic-the butler did it– and had Henderson be the shooter. Nobody would see that coming that’s for sure.

Berris has been giving excellent performances all the way through this storyline. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got an emmy nod for this.

My money’s on Gabi. They didn’t keep putting the camera on Sonny’s bag in the closet for nothing.

I think it will turn out to be Jordon’s cat who pulled the trigger. He got out and was in the park and found the gun.
I have no idea who the killer will be.

Maybe it wasn’t Nick who got shot at all – maybe it was Nick’s evil twin, Rick.
Maybe it was Nick who got shot but he was wearing a bullet proof vest. How the heck did he go from the Park to the Square if he was shot three times, and we clearly saw him get hit three times (I assume with a gun with a silencer on it). Obviously, I don’t know – maybe it was another dream sequence – (would the writers DARE pull
THAT one again?) – why would EVERYONE be assembled oddly at the same location –

Maybe Nick wasn’t shot at all. Maybe he was riddled by the screams from Julie. They were enough to wake the dead, so why not loud enough to kill someone?

Even though I am sad to see blake berris leaving days, I am happy Ejami won’t be messed with by Nick any longer!

Days Of Our Lives

Stephen Schnetzer Talks On His Return to Days of our Lives and Working with Susan Seaforth Hayes In Emotional Episodes

Who says you can’t go home again? In the case of Another World favorite, Stephen Schnetzer (ex-Cass Winthrop), he has proven that it is true, and you can go back to your soap roots and where it all started for you.

Last week on April 11th, Schnetzer, along with several other key returns were on set at Days of our Lives taping all-new episodes of the Peacock streaming soap opera, centering on the funeral of Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), and as part of the iconic soap opera’s 15,000th episode.

Stephen is reprising his first daytime role as Steve Olson, the brother of Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). The last time Schnetzer appeared on a DAYS set was during his one and only run on the show from 1978 to 1980. Clearly, viewers will be in for some very emotional scenes when Steve returns to Salem to be there for his sister, Julie in her time of need. In real-life, Susan has been going through her own grief, having just lost Bill back on January 12th at the age of 98.

Photo: NBC

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Stephen during the 15K episode celebration ceremony, and during a break from taping the gut-wrenching funeral scenes, to get his thoughts on being part of these highly-anticipated moments that will air later this year in December. Here’s what he shared with us below.

What has this been like for you to work with Susan Seaforth Hayes after all of these years?

STEPHEN: She’s a dream and she’s so bright. We ran lines yesterday and we ended up just visiting for about 45 minutes and just catching up and telling tales about each other’s career. She even dropped off the autobiography that she and Bill did. And being back here at DAYS, every time I turn a corner, there’s another familiar face. When I was on the show 40 more years ago, a bunch of the guys, played softball on a team together. This is really a trip down memory lane as I knew it would be.

Photo: JPI

Taping Doug’s funeral must be a hard day for Susan. Are you checking in with her to help hold her up through this?

STEPHEN: I am and I’m checking in with Amy Shaughnessy (Susan’s assistant), and she’s holding her up more than anybody. We’re there for each other.

There will obviously be some major hankie-inducing moments when Steve comes back to Salem to console his sister.

STEPHEN: Oh, wait till you see it in December. It’s going to be great.

Were you surprised you got this call to come back to the show decades later?

STEPHEN: It was out of the blue! I was completely surprised. They should have called me decades ago! That’s what surprised me. When Another World went down, I thought I’d land somewhere else and it never happened. That was more of a surprise.

Photo: JPI

Cass is such an identifiable character for you. As well, you and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia Gallant) are so synonymous together as best friends Cass and Felicia from Another World. When fans heard you were reprising your role as Steve Olson on DAYS, they are now hoping there will be more of you on the show to come.

STEPHEN: Steven Olson is a real “Cassian “character. I cut my teeth on Steve Olson and that’s how Cass was introduced. He was kind of a roguish charmer. And then when the character stuck for Another World, they rehabilitated me, and turned me into one of the shows heroes. And that’s what would’ve happened if I stayed as Steve Olson probably. So, Steve is the ‘pre-Cass’, Cass.

Photo: JPI

As the story goes, you originally decided to leave Days of our Lives?

STEPHEN: I was never on contract. I was doing a day and a half a week and I got a Broadway play directed by Franco Zeffirelli starring Joan Plowright and Frank Finlay. I was able to it as I didn’t have to break a contract or anything. I cut loose and went back to New York for that.

How well did you get to know Bill Hayes during your first time around on DAYS?

STEPHEN: My first episode was with Bill and Susan, as her long lost brother coming into Salem. They were so good to me. They were so kind. I had been doing eight years of classical repertory theater, never been in front of a camera. I tell everybody, it took me longer than any other actor I’ve ever seen to get comfortable in front of a camera. And they were very supportive at that time in my career. Coming back to honor Bill now in 2024, and to be see Susan, I am just so happy to be here.

Looking forward to seeing the scenes between Stephen and Susan Seaforth Hayes come December and Doug’s funeral and surrounding episodes? Do you hope that DAYS might bring the character of Steve Olson back for a longer stay? Comment below.
