DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Unmasked! The Part Of Nicole Walker Is Now Being Played By Kristen DiMera
On Friday, NBC’s Days of our Lives delivered quite the cliffhanger as fans go into the Memorial Day Weekend. There had been plenty of speculation that something just wasn’t quite right with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) since her “return from the dead” to Salem. Leave it to head writer, Ron Carlivati to come up with an exciting twist … and he did!
As it turns out, that isn’t Nicole after all, but Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) wearing a very convincing Nicole mask and weaving her plot while under wraps; chief among those plots is to nab Brady (Eric Martsolf) as her man; once and for all.
In story, at the Salem Inn, “Nicole” kisses Brady. At first he responds, but then backs off, until “Nicole” yelps, “Damn it, Brady! Why are you fighting me on this? Just forget about Holly.” Brady is stunned! “Nicole” says she wants to escape the pain of losing her daughter, but Brady leaves and “Nicole” smashes a vase.
Later at the Inn, Xander (Paul Telfer) hands over Holly’s hospital records. Meanwhile, “Nicole” tells her accomplice all about the memorial service and how devastated Eric (Greg Vaughn ) was, and how bad she wants to be with Brady. Admitting Brady currently rejected her, she says it’s only a matter of time before he gives in to her seductions.
Next, we see “Nicole” ripping a mask from her face, just as Xander announces that Nicole is being played by “Kristen DiMera” and smirks. Meanwhile, Kristen emerges from under the mask, free at last as her wig comes off as she lets down her hair. Thus, the pieces all are starting to fit together.
Kudos to Arianne Zucker for playing Nicole and Kristen as Nicole, and we can’t wait to see Stacy Haiduk as the conniving Kristen as this story unfolds.
Watch a promo for next week’s DAYS below. Then let us know, what you thought of the twist: that Kristen is pretending to be Nicole, via the comment section below..

Olivia Rose AND Victoria… you were so glammed up w/ Hayley… WOW
Cheesy and funny as a gag but ultimately I grow tired of recycled “twists.” (Been there, done that — lots of masks on GH). But that’s Ron. This makes me once again glad he’s nowhere near GH. Want a real Friday cliffhanger? Watch Ava Jerome’s confrontation with Ryan, the man her killed her daughter. I yelled out loud at the end of the show!
I love your statement: “This makes me once again glad he’s nowhere near GH.” I couldn’t agree more.
I am beginning to think DOOL is starting to jump the shark. The storylines are getting to the point of ridiculous. With the ever-ending “dead” citizens showing up alive in Salem, a rapist becoming mayor of the city, history being re-written (Jordan as a psycho), and now Kristen-is-Nicole, the show is no longer Must-see TV.
The ratings for DOOL has never been lower. It is time for Ken Corday to once again reel in the writers and make the show watchable again. With the exception of Gabi/Stefan and Ben/Ciara, most of the characters have no rooting value. I am enjoying Haley, but she has received too much airtime at the expense of Julie, Maggie and the other veterans. I hope the return of Stephen Nichols will give the show a major boost. I am also hoping Hope becomes the show’s veteran character the fans fell in love with years ago. I didn’t think she was at her best with Rafe, but her character has been unrecognizable since Bo died a few years ago.
This plot twist was ridiculous enough on GH when Duke was revealed to be Faison. Then again when Faison was wearing a Luke mask. And AGAIN when Obrecht was pretending to be Anna. Am I missing any others?
Point is, this plot twist is one that Ron C. has done to death, and it gets less convincing every time it’s reused. Plus, the announcement from a few months ago that Stacy Haiduk was returning to the show foreshadowed this plot twist from a mile away.
The question now becomes, is Nicole really dead? And how exactly was Kristen going to seduce Brady while wearing the mask? Wouldn’t he be able to tell that she’s wearing a fake face from the neck up, where the mask ends? Ugh, even just typing that is exhausting.
And this is why we call him “ReRon”….
Saw this coming from 666 miles away.
At least with the Duke/Faison thing on GH it was done as a clever way to get the Faison character back on canvas before the actor was available, without having to do a recast.
If this had been done to bring Eileen Davidson back as Kristen, at least then there would be a point to it.
Now the question is…. how long before we see the REAL Nicole, who is obviously being held prisoner in some DiMera dungeon.
Josh griffin on y &r reliving the past none of them have a clue new ideas within boundaries read books study art of previous writers but too lazy to do it
“. . . from 666 miles away.” Oh, Satan, you do crack me up.
I have to agree with your comment about Eileen Davidson; that would at least have been a payoff that would have made a story like this worth considering, ill advised as it might otherwise be. (Although even in that case: if you were able to get her to return, why not write an actual story for Kristen rather than something like this?)
Satan,
Am thinking she’s really dead. Shouldn’t you know that?
Also, Iam wondering who has Holly.
Satan. Classify under things I’d like to see: I wish Re Ron would have the current President peel off his orange mask only to reveal President Nixon
I’d actually be willing to send Tricky Dick up there to make that happen.
He is at it again feel very sorry for what daytime has turned into close the doors and I haven’t watched this show in ten years! Why on earth do these writers do this ?? They are insulting the audience every day and no I will not support them anymore hit the door running you have all four made a laughing stock out of daytime drama!
Days must love being in 4th place…too many coming back from the dead..another dumb Reron mask story…Will and Sonny will never have a regular life together as something consistantly keeps them apart…Days was once called a classy soap..character driven relationships and family drama…now its nothing but dark and gloomy stories with characters i dont care for like i used to..Ron started out well and its been downhill from there…my Days watching this show is numbered!!!
“Days was once called a classy soap” but Days was also known as the show where Marlena was possessed by Satan. Soaps run in cycles… yes, the mask is a tired plot device but this too shall pass.
When I possessed Marlena, it was some of the classiest Days episodes ever!
Ha ha ha!!
YOU Get floored in this stuff… go see @ MichaelFairman @Emmy with Brandon Barash, marci Miller, Tyler Chistopher, Kate Mansi w/Galen Gering ‘stops’ visiting…the DiMera you get
Rafe’ (alicious) LOTS of Galen Gering
You see the choice WHY this stuff matters acknowledge the ‘hot’
I’ll be damned I just told my best friend that I dont by that woman was Nicole .I even told her I bet they used a mask again,We all know that Nicole would never act that way.It is about time they brought Stacy Haiduk back.I never would have guessed it was Kristen though. I missed most of the show today cause I had to go see my doctor ugh,I got to see about five minutes of it and I thought I saw Stacy there. She does a wonderful job playing Kristen. What a sneaky way of doing things. However you had to know it wasnt Nicole. This could make for an interesting story.
I find more to like in Ron’s writing than, I think, most people who comment on here, but even I will confess I’m weary of his obsession with masks. I know we’re expected to suspend disbelief when we watch TV, but I’m sorry: if two people kiss and one of them is wearing a mask, the other one knows it. If these mask stories were played out from the angle of “What kinds of things does a person have to do if he/she is wearing a mask to impersonate someone else to ensure the mask isn’t detected and his/her scheme revealed?” and we saw some of the struggles/difficulties and the villain really having to work at it to put the deception over on the unsuspecting people of Soap Town X, that might at least make the story interesting (albeit still far fetched). But the premise with Ron’s mask stories is always “Character A wears a mask pretending to be character B and nobody in Soap Town X suspects a thing,” which just isn’t all that compelling (and has a great deal of eye-roll potential). I’m beginning to think Ron maybe should subject himself to an internal check on gimmicks and devices before moving forward with any planned story: “Have I used this gimmick/device in the last five years (ten if it’s on the same show)? If yes, abandon idea and write new story. If no, OK maybe this can go forward.”
Thanks to all the spoilers, there was no surprise when Nicole ripped off her wig and mask, revealing Kristen.
How utterly stupid that she came complete with her very own long hair crammed under the short styled wig, make-up and lo and behold, her own voice! Stacy Haiduk did not give herself enough credit when she said, she was lucky that she and Nicole had the same bone structure, etc. I don’t agree with that. Hope it didn’t bother her as much saying it, as me hearing it. I think she’s as good or better than Eileen H ever was.
Eve, as police commissioner is just ludicrous. Doesn’t someone in that capacity have to have some police training, to wear that badge and carry a weapon? And her stooge husband is just as laughable. What an insult to the viewers. I just hope TPTB know, that just because we are watching their crap, that we also know a pile, when we smell it.
